Justin Trudeau’s close aide Sukh Dhaliwal ‘backed’ Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in getting Canadian PR: Report

On 1st October, new information related to Khalitani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s Canadian citizenship came to the fore. As per the News18 report, the close of Canadian Prime Minister and Canadian MP Sukh Dhaliwal allegedly helped Nijjar to get a Permanent Residency or PR in Canada. Furthermore, he reportedly helped Nijjar establish his network in the country.

Citing unnamed intelligence sources, News18 reported that Dhaliwal arranged Nijjar’s PR although he was on the no-fly list. Notably, Dhaliwal has been serving as the Chairperson of the Immigration Committee. Sources further indicated that Nijjar’s PR was possible because of the Sikh support base and his closeness to the Pakistani agency ISI.

Not to forget, Surrey is Dhaliwal’s constituency. Najjar lived in a Gurdwara in Surrey, where unknown assailants assassinated him. Intelligence sources further revealed that Nijjar was allegedly operating an immigration racket under which he would bring people to Canada to join his illicit activities. The money Nijjar earned was allegedly distributed between Dhaliwal and him.

Earlier, News18 reported how Dhaliwal floated the idea of using Nijjar’s death after returning from Lahore, Pakistan, four months ago. Najjar was killed around that time. When Dhaliwal went to Pakistan, his posters were up in every nook and corner of the country. News18 report suggested that Dhaliwal’s idea was to allegedly use Nijjar’s death to help the falling popularity of Trudeau with some sympathy votes from Khalistanis.

Not to forget, Dhaliwal was the person behind the petition in the House of Commons asking Canada to consider the 1984 Sikh riots in India as an act of genocide. India has refused a Visa to Dhaliwal in 2013. Dhaliwal claimed it was because he spoke against the “excesses against Sikhs” in India and called the country a “so-called democracy”.

Dhaliwal claimed Trudeau has credible evidence against India but none presented to India

Speaking to News18 on 2nd October, Dhaliwal claimed that he was not defending Nijjar but Canada. He further added that the issue was the assassination that was “bothersome” to him.

Dhaliwal claimed that Trudeau had “credible information and evidence” of India’s involvement in Nijjar’s murder when he accused India of killing Nijjar while speaking in the Parliament. “He said, “My job is to see all go the fairway.”

He further claimed law enforcement agencies have enough evidence to back Trudeau’s accusations against India. He said, “The law enforcement agencies have enough evidence that made Trudeau make that statement. I can certainly say that PM Trudeau is very credible when he makes a statement. He does not do so without any evidence. I am happy someone can speak for Canada.”

Though Dhaliwal claimed Canada has enough evidence to support the accusations, Ottawa has failed to present any to the Government of India despite repeated requests. Dhaliwal added, “At this point, I can say that the PM was given the information, and he spoke. This is real leadership. The justice system in Canada is very fair. There is credible information that has made PM Trudeau say this”.

When the red corner notice was issued in 2019, Dhaliwal met Nijjar. It is unclear if he had informed the authorities about Nijjar when he was declared a terrorist by the government of India in 2020. Speaking to News18, Dhaliwal evaded questions about Canadian Security Intelligence Services (CSIS) being in touch with Nijjar, as claimed by his son.

When asked about extradition requests in place by the government of India against gangsters Goldy Brar, Arsh Dalla and others, he said if India gives Canada “evidence”, then “we will support India in deliberations”. Interestingly, he made a bizarre statement that India gave “fake passports” and fake police clearance to the anti-India elements to escape to Canada. However, he forgot that it was the Canadian Immigration Department’s responsibility not to permit such elements on its soil and deport them back to India. When India requested the extradition of criminals living in Canada, the Canadian government conveniently ignored the request despite having an extradition treaty.

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau blows a diplomatic storm by making unsubstantiated allegations against India

Tensions rose between India and Canada after Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau accused India of involvement in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar on Canadian soil. Canada expelled an Indian diplomat after the allegations, but other allied countries refused to issue a joint statement against India.

In retaliation, India denied the allegations and expelled a Canadian diplomat. The dispute led to India stopping visa issuance to Canadian citizens and halting trade talks between the two countries. India had previously expressed concerns about increasing Khalistani activities in Canada, including speeches by Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun during a so-called Khalistan referendum. It was also revealed that Nijjar was on the US No Fly list, leading to questions about why Canada was providing a haven for designated terrorists and organized crime, as noted by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.

UP: One arrested in Azamgarh for luring Hindus and converting them to Christianity in the name of a ‘prayer meeting’

0

On Sunday, October 1, the Uttar Pradesh Police arrested one of the persons who attempted to convert the religion of Hindus to Christianity in the Sathiaon block of Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. The missionary had organised a ‘prayer meeting’ at the residence of one of the villagers named Chhotelal Ram. The accused offered money to the innocent Hindu attendees and tried to convert them to Christianity under the pretext of a ‘prayer meeting’.

According to the Bhaskar report, the incident came to light after the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal members came to know about the event and caught the accused red-handed. The Hindu organisation members reached the spot of the prayer meeting to find that around 30-35 Hindu women had gathered at Chhotelal Ram’s residence on Sunday. The women were given copies of the Bible and Rs 300 each.

The Bajrang Dal members also heard the accused using abusive and derogatory language for Hindu Gods and Goddesses. After this, the Hindu organisation’s members called the police and got the accused arrested.

Bajrang Dal member Gaurav Raghuvanshi commented on the issue and said that cases of conversion in the state of Uttar Pradesh are rising. “These missionaries go to small villages, trap innocent Hindus, and lure them to convert their religion. In this case, also, the accused had put Rs 300 in each Bible and such books were being offered to the villagers. Derogatory language was being used for Hindu Gods and Goddesses,” he said while talking to Dainik Bhaskar.

A similar incident was reported in Azamgarh last year. On August 1, 2022, the Azamgarh police in Uttar Pradesh busted a conversion racket by arresting six women who were attempting to convert vulnerable villagers to Christianity. According to reports, the racket was being carried out under the guise of a birthday party.

In November 2022, nine persons were arrested by state police for trying to illegally convert Hindus to Christianity under the grab of exorcism. The incident had come to the fore due to Bajrang Dal. The police raided the place of the accused to discover religious books and money. 12 people were initially detained, however, only 9 were arrested.

In the current case, the accused has been arrested and further investigations into the case are underway.

Son of a Congress leader, Fareed Zakaria, who had called for foreign interference in India, now whitewashes Khalistani terrorist Nijjar

On Monday (October 2), CNN released an episode of India-born US journalist Fareed Zakaria pontificating on the diplomatic row between India and Canada following Justin Trudeau’s absurd allegations against New Delhi. In the 5-minute video, the son of Former Congress Minister Rafiq Zakaria, Fareed Zakaria goes on at length to whitewash Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. He trivialises the real threat of Khalistani terrorism by casting aspersions over the authenticity and gravity of the danger they pose to India’s national security and the lives of patriotic Indians inside and outside India.

Zakaria also accused India of indulging in jingoism over the Canadian allegation and implies that the Khalistani terrorism issue is being exaggerated for political gains by PM Modi and BJP in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

Zakaria begins by quoting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, where he had accused India of being involved in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, on Canadian soil.

He then goes on to whitewash Hardeep Singh Nijjar by briefly describing him as a Sikh “activist” and head of a Sikh temple (Gurudwara) and tries to say that he was gunned down by unidentified assailants in June in the temple’s parking lot.

Zakaria sidestepped the fact that Nijjar had an Interpol arrest warrant against his name as early as November 2014 for being involved in serious offenses like murder, among a host of other illegal activities

Zakaria deliberately omits the fact that Trudeau was pandering to Khalistani terrorists by raising the issue of Khalistani terrorist Nijjar’s killing with India for political reasons. While giving a political spin to India’s response to the issue, he didn’t mention the alliance between the NDP and the Liberal party. Jagmeet Singh’s NDP is a known party of Khalistani sympathisers in India.

Instead, he presented Trudeau’s absurd allegations against India as a move to get Justice for Nijjar. He claimed that the motive of Justin Trudeau in making these allegations was to shame the Indian government by airing these allegations publicly and compel it to cooperate in the investigation.

In fact, he had earlier given a call to the US government to directly interfere in India’s internal affairs. He advocated for (the US govt) to ally with India’s businesses, press, NGOs, and cultural groups, indirectly hinting that the US government should invest in regime change tactics instead of seeking healthy bilateral relations with India.

Back then, he had also targeted India for focusing on its own national interest insinuating that the ideal ally of the US should prioritise US interests above its own interests.

Later in the video, he delves into, “why Trudeau’s startling allegations are playing out very differently in Modi’s India”. Citing some snippets from Indian media and political analysts, he laments that these stories have “released a spasm of Jingoism”.

He then goes on to paint a contrasting picture of Canada as seen from a Western lens vis-a-vis how India has started to portray Canada as – “a safe haven for terrorists.”

In the video, Zakaria states, “In India, the reactions are very different and reveal in fact that Justin Trudeau blew it. Just look at the Indian press, the story has released a spasm of Jingoism in which TV anchors cast Canada not as a multicultural haven and stable democracy, you and I may know but as a rogue state bent on protecting terrorists.”

To highlight this point, he plays the clip of Arnab Goswami where he referred to Justin Trudeau as a supporter of terrorism, an open terror backer, and a terrorist sympathiser and added that he is at the point of no return.

Zakaria argues that political analyst Sushant Sareen has aptly described the Country’s reaction, “if we did it, it was right, if we didn’t do it, you are wrong.”

Arguing that with this case, India is misrepresenting itself as a victim of Western bullying on the domestic front, Zakaria added, “An analysis peace of the Hindustan Times conjures up memories of Western colonial powers ganging up against India claiming that Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s killing will be a rallying point for the Anglo-Saxon bloc to come together against India.”

While explaining to his audience why India was accusing Canada of providing a safe haven to terrorists, he downplays the Khalistani terrorism in the name of a separate homeland, ‘Khalistan’. He blatantly lies by mainstreaming the fringe Khalistanis by claiming that Nijjar was one among many foreign-based Sikhs who advocate for Khalistan.

Regarding this, he said, “Indian officials have accused Canada of providing a safe haven for terrorists, that might sound like a puzzling and absurd allegation but it is a reference to the fact that Nijjar was a Sikh separatist. One of many Sikhs abroad who advocate for a separate country for Sikhs, the homeland they want to create, Khalistan, the idea that goes back decades, the efforts include armed militancy in India that peaked in the 1980s.”

Subsequently, he whitewashes the ongoing crimes and public calls for violence against Hindus by Khalistani elements. For this, he mischievously downplays by quoting The Economist which claimed that Khalistan is merely an “idle talking point” in the Sikh diaspora.

He said, “As the Economist notes, the movement for Khalistan was responsible for the death of thousands in the 1980s and 1990s but has since been little more than an idle talking point in the Sikh diaspora and has negligible support in India.”

It is not an issue of national security, it is a political booster for Modi

Casting aspersions on India’s concern regarding national security and the lives of Indian nationals abroad, Fareed Zakaria goes on to say that Canada catering to India’s demand to act tough on Khalistani elements would be “politically useful” for PM Modi and BJP.

He said, “Whatever the reality in this one case, tensions between India and Canada over “Sikh activists” in the Indian diaspora have been long-running. As the FT notes, India’s accusations that Canada has been too soft on “Sikh activists” deserve some scrutiny. But it is also true that playing up this kind of threat to India is politically useful for PM Narendra Modi and his party BJP.”

Citing the example of the Pulwama terror attack and subsequent response by India, he argues that Trudeau’s strategy to seek justice by naming and shaming India is fundamentally flawed.

Painting ‘Hindu Nationalism’ as anti-minority and anti-West, he sermonises, “You see Justin Trudeau’s whole strategy of naming and shaming India fundamentally misunderstands the dynamics of Modi’s Hindu nationalism which is rooted in the belief that India’s Hindu majority has been passive for too long in the face of minorities and foreigners. When presented with an opportunity, Modi knows how to translate it into political gold.”

He continued, “In 2019 a suicide bomber carried out the worst attack in decades killing dozens of Indian soldiers, India blamed Pakistan militants and sent in the Indian Airforce and carried out strikes on what it said was a militant training facility in Pakistan. Though Pakistan denied the strikes hit much of anything. Nonetheless, it was the first time that such a cross-border operation had been carried out in almost fifty years.”

Connecting the dots of then vs. now, and indirectly underscoring the fact that Canada is becoming new Pakistan for India, Zakaria concluded by lamenting that this portrayal that Modi is standing against Sikh separatism and Western bullying will be an election plank for him, regardless that it might not be real or dangerous.

Fareed Zakaria ranted, “As Bloomberg noted, Modi went on a victory lap, saying in a campaign speech that he believed in barging into the house of terrorists and killing them. He implied without any evidence that the opposition parties’ sympathies lay with the terrorists. Pollsters reported a boost in Modi’s approval ratings after the strike. Now Modi faces another election, and he will surely be helped if he can run by standing against Sikh separatism and Western bullying, regardless of how real or dangerous either threat actually is.”

Rising number of Islamist attacks on Hindu temples attributed to ‘mentally unstable’ assailants: A disturbing trend rooted in bigotry

In recent years, a concerning trend of attacks on Hindu temples by Islamists dubbed “mentally unstable” in the media has emerged in various parts of India. These incidents have affected regions across the country.

Notably, some of these attacks have occurred during festive seasons or close to religious Hindu processions. Additionally, these transpired without provocation, underscoring the deep-rooted hatred towards Hinduism in the minds of Islamists which is the root cause behind these attacks.

It is worth noting that in several of these cases, dedicated attempts were made to excuse their actions by labelling the attackers as mental patients.

Attack on Baba Bodheshwar temple in Unnao

In a shocking incident at Unnao’s historic Baba Bodheshwar Mahadev temple in Uttar Pradesh, an attacker identified as Javed violently attacked devotees on Friday, September 29th. Armed with a lathi, he stormed the temple during Bhadrapad Purnima, injuring eight worshippers.

This attack caught devotees off guard while they were praying to the revered Shivling. Among the injured were Milan Singh, Kailash Singh, and retired revenue officer Krishna Kumar Tiwari. Attacks on temples during the Nuh violence

On July 31, 2023, a disturbing incident unfolded in Nuh, Mewat, Haryana, as an Islamic mob launched an attack on Hindu pilgrims participating in the Jalabhishek Yatra. The rioting Muslims attacked the Nalhad Mahadev temple by rioting Muslims. As a result, numerous Hindu devotees found themselves ensnared in a hostage-like situation for an extended period.

The Shringar Temple, located about 45 minutes away from the Nalhad temple, was also targeted. Apart from this, another Baba Gorakhnath Kali temple of Nuh was also targeted by the mob of rioters. The priest of the Kali temple told OpIndia that on July 31, a mob of more than 500 attacked the temple. They were shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’. They had many other weapons including stones in their hands.

According to the priest, there was a heavy stone pelting around the temple for about 2-3 hours. The entire road was covered with stones. The mob had broken the lock of the temple, but they could not enter the temple. If this was the case, they could also damage the idol of Goddess Kali and the Shivaling.

Temple desecration in Muzaffarpur

On Saturday, April 22, 2023, Mohammed Moiuddin forcibly entered the Hanuman temple wearing shoes and stood in front of the idol with his pyjamas open. When the priest tried to stop him, he beat up the priest.

After this, he entered another temple and stood in front of the idol of the Goddess with his pyjamas open. Later, the assailant went to another nearby temple and urinated. Seeing this, the priest started shouting for help. Hearing the priest’s cries, the crowd started gathering. People reported that during such a heinous act, he was also shouting Islamic slogans.

Bihar Police said that the youth, who committed the unwanted act near the temple, is mentally challenged. The police also informed that medical certificates have also been submitted by his family.

On Wednesday morning, when Vicky Vishwakarma reached the Hanuman temple located on the main road in the Hind Peedhi police station area for cleaning, the lock of the temple was broken. When Vicky Vishwakarma went inside, he saw that the nose, forehead and mace of the Hanuman idol installed in the temple were broken.

Locals did not agree with the police’s claim that Rameez was a mental patient. Speaking to Aaj Tak, locals asked why the man, who the police claimed to be a mental patient, had targeted the idol except for the silver crown and donation box money. Another local claimed that on the night when the idol was vandalised, they were discussing Durga Puja. During this time, some people tried to provoke them by raising religious slogans.

Islamist women attacked a Durga Puja pandal in Hyderabad

Two Muslim women vandalised an idol of Goddess Durga in Hyderabad’s Khairatabad area on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. Before this, they also tried to break the idol of Mother Mary outside a church. They broke these idols using a spanner. Strangely, these women were also termed mentally unstable.

When the two women were vandalising the idols a man tried to stop them. These women then attacked the man. However, seeing the radical attitude of the women, the locals gathered and caught them. People informed the police and handed these women over to the police.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of The Central Zone of Hyderabad said, “These two women live with their parents. They are mentally ill. They returned from Jeddah in 2018 and have been facing it ever since. They also have a brother who lives together.”

Their brother Aseemuddin said, “I haven’t met my sisters yet, but I’ve heard what has happened, so I didn’t come forward. My mother and sisters have schizophrenia and my brother has paranoid schizophrenia. However, he has never done such an act. I beg my pardon. He is undergoing treatment in the hospital, so I have to take care of him.”

Allah and 786 written on the walls of a temple in Tamil Nadu

In yet another attack on Hindu temples in Tamil Nadu, the rock-cut mountain temples on top of Aththri Hills in Alvarkurichi in Tirunelveli district were vandalised by Islamists. The incident was reported on 28th July 2021. The rocks surrounding the Hindu temples on Aththri hills were desecrated allegedly by Muslims, who painted the Islamic symbol “crescent moon” on the sacred rocks. The culprits also wrote “Allah”, along with an Islamic symbol and the number 786, atop the hill.

A preplanned attack on a temple in Kannauj

On Tuesday, 22nd June 2021, Dilshad along with his accomplice Umar attacked a Hindu temple situated in Chhibramau, Kannauj district. While Dilshad managed to flee, the devotees and the priest of the temple caught hold of Umar Farooq and handed him over to the police. Dilshad was later arrested by the police.

During the investigation, Umar who is a resident of the Birtiya Mohalla revealed that he and other abettors were sent to attack the temple on someone’s instructions but refused to divulge the name.

As per reports, devotees visited the Vijaynath temple at around 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning when they saw Dilshad and co-conspirators chant inflammatory slogans and desecrate Hindu idols. A large crowd gathered around the temple which houses a Shivling, Hanuman and a Devi idol on receiving the news of the desecration.

Putting condoms in the donation boxes of the temple

On 1st April 2021, Raheem (32) and Taufiq (35) were arrested from the Jokatte area in Mangalore. The arrest came in connection to an incident where a condom was found in a temple’s Hundi (Donation box) in Manguluru. The temple belonged to the local Manguluru deity Lord Koragajja who is seen as an avatar for Lord Shiva.

Addressing a press meet, police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that in the last three months prior to this arrest, five cases were registered at Ullal, Kadri, and Pandeshwar police stations over miscreants dropping objectionable items into the offering boxes of temples, including a condom at the Koragajja Katte temple. However, the police were not able to track down the culprits behind the desecration of the temples.

But suddenly after some time, the duo Raheem and Taufiq started going to the temple in order to pray for forgiveness from the priests. Initially, the priests thought the duo was making fun, but finally, they confessed their heinous crime at the temple and surrendered themselves to the people there who later turned them over to the police.

The reason why both Raheem and Taufiq were so scared that they went back to the temple to confess, was because the third and the main culprit, Nawaz, who had put the condom in the Hundi box in the first place, had died under mysterious circumstances. Soon after his crime, Nawaz started acting insane, which then turned into blood vomiting and dysentery. Finally, Nawaz died by banging his own head on a wall, his last words being that Lord Koragajja is angry with the culprits.

After the death of Nawaz, Taufiq also started suffering from similar symptoms like vomiting blood. This scared them so badly that they decided that they would be saved only if they confessed and sought forgiveness for their crime.

Trespassing at the Dasna temple

In March 2021, a Muslim boy named Asif was allegedly thrashed for trespassing a Hindu temple on the pretext of drinking water in the Dasna area of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. Shringi Yadav, who was arrested and later granted bail in connection with the alleged assault on the ‘minor’ Muslim youth Asif, put out the chain of events that transpired in March 2021 inside the Dasna temple in Ghaziabad that has fuelled a massive controversy across the country.

Shringi Yadav dismissed the claims that the Muslim boy was targeted inside the temple for drinking water. He said that Asif was caught urinating on the Shivling inside the Dasna Devi temple and added the claims of Muslim youth entering the premises to drink water are not true. Narrating the incident, Yadav said that Asif had entered the temple with another Muslim youth. He noticed that Asif was urinating on the Shivling and confronted him.

Shringi Yadav said that two Muslim youths – Asif and his friend were present inside the temple premises on the day of the incident. The other youth, who had accompanied Asif, was seen wearing a skull cap and was behaving indecently in the presence of a few Hindu women visiting the temple. Yadav said the youth with the skull cap unzipped his pants in front of the women devotees visiting the temple. As Yadav and others confronted them, the two youths ran away.

Responding to the allegations that the boy Asif was allegedly thrashed for drinking water inside the temple premises, Shringi Yadav rejected the allegations saying that the Muslim youths have a history of harassing Hindu women visiting the temple.

Loots and thefts in the temples in Karnataka

In February 2021, the Mangalore police arrested two Muslim youths for robbing a series of Hindu temples in the Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. According to the reports, the two accused, 19-year-old Mohammed Suhail and 21-year-old Nizamuddin, were nabbed by the police outside Mangalore city. The arrested youths were the residents of Talapady.

Mangalore police commissioner Shashi Kumar said that Konaje Police Station staff examined the CCTV footage on January 26, 2021, and found out that two persons were moving suspiciously near the temple premises. Subsequently, both of them were arrested and interrogated.

During the interrogation, the accused confessed to robbing the temples and breaking open the donation boxes at Arasu Mundithaya Temple, Malar in 2020 and at another temple at Madur on the morning of January 15, 2021. They also confessed to the theft at Ayyappa Swamy Temple Seva Counter at Deralakatte. The accused also confessed that they were responsible for desecrating the saffron flag at Gopalakrishna Temple, Perande.

Islamists looted a temple in Maharashtra

On 5th February 2021, 25-year-old Sharif Shafiful Shaikh and 28-year-old Mohammad Hussain Yasin Mulla from Kharghar in neighbouring Navi Mumbai looted a temple at Pimpri in the Thane district. The police had recovered around 30 CCTV footage installed in the neighbouring areas. Based on the CCTV footage, the police arrested the two on 10th February for looting cash and ornaments worth Rs 50,000.

Conclusion

From the above discussion, it is clear that attacks on temples by Islamists have become a repetitive phenomenon in all parts of the country. The hatred for Hinduism, Hindu people, and Hindu deities in the minds of these Islamists is so deep-rooted that the attackers include poor uneducated Islamists as well as IIT-educated engineers. Moreover, attempts are made to shield their acts by calling them mental patients. In reality, their acts are hate crimes against Hindus. Hindus need to be vigilant of such attacks in order to prevent any mishaps and raise their voice for strict action against such attacks.

Leftists wanted ‘Young Thinkers Conclave’ at NLIU Bhopal cancelled: Why they wanted Neeraj Atri de-platformed and how TheWire came to their rescue

The Young Thinkers’ Forum, a Madhya Pradesh-based group of young intellectuals and thought leaders, held its 5th annual ‘Young Thinkers’ Conclave’ at the prestigious National Law Institute University (NLIU) in Bhopal.

The event featured Hindu rights activist Rashmi Samant, journalist Swati Goel Sharma, author Neeraj Atri and several other young, nationalist speakers. The ‘Young Thinkers’ Conclave’ conducted a total of 6 sessions, which were spread out between two days (September 30 and October 1).

The event was organised at the auditorium of NLIU after seeking permission from the administration of the public law school. A small group of leftists (comprising some students and members of the alumni) learnt about the Conclave on September 25 and attempted to coerce the organisers into cancelling the event.

They objected to the list of nationalist speakers, and accused them of being involved in ‘hate mongering.’ The same coterie of leftists also opposed key sessions of the Young Thinkers’ Conclave, including ‘From Dogma to Dharma: Hindu View of Prophetic Monotheism’ and ‘Unravelling Wokesism: Examining the DNA of Social Activism.’

OpIndia reached out to an alumnus of the National Law Institute University, who was closely associated with the planning of the event. On the condition of anonymity, he said, “After learning that some students had issues, I personally reached out to them to pacify the situation. They wanted us to ban Neeraj Atri, citing his critical tweets about Abhramaic religions.”

“I told them that we will not de-platform any speaker but can organise a debate between them and Mr Atri. I invited them to participate in the event and assured them that they could ask questions to Mr Atri about his views and beliefs. But they refused to entertain any discussion and wanted an outright ban on him,” the alumnus of the public law school told us.

He further added, “I was keen on accommodating the concerns of this ‘small group of people’ and finding a middle path. But unfortunately, they were reluctant to engage in any form or manner. So, we decided to go ahead with the Conclave as planned.”

Rashmi Samant, who was invited as a Speaker at the event, wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “There was a small radical faction which was tearing posters and banners with the speakers’ names and sessions. Instead of engaging and countering with facts, they’ve come down to hooliganism, violence and vandalism.”

Leftists lose their minds over caricatures and non-mainstream books

On Saturday (September 30), the vicious group of leftists cried foul over a banner, which featured caricatures of ‘historians’ such as Audrey Truschke, and Ramachandra Guha. Both of them hold the distinction of distorting facts in pursuit of their agenda.

When asked about the matter, the NLIU (Bhopal) alumnus told OpIndia, “The caricatures were taken from a book titled ‘Ten Heads of Ravana: A Critique of Hinduphobic Scholars’ by Rajiv Malhotra and Divya Reddy. Historians are not immune to criticism. Although I am not a fan of caricatures, they are well within the ambit of free speech.”

“The said banner was put up for a particular session. We had previously decided to remove it after the session was concluded and we went according to our plan. Some are now claiming on social media that the banner was removed by organisers after facing backlash. This is definitely not the case,” he informed.

The cabal of leftists also created hullaballoo over the sale of critical, non-mainstream books at the event, including ‘Jesus Christ: An Artifice for Aggression’, ‘Tipu Sultan: Villain or Hero?’, ‘Hindu Rashtra’ and ‘Jihad.’

“They wanted us to remove these books from the stall. Is this Iran where we will ban books now? If you find a book objectionable, then write a counter to it? What is this intolerance?” the alumnus of National Law Institute University told OpIndia.

The small group of leftist students and alumni on campus were also aghast at Professor Ram Sharma for calling out woke culture and the hegemony of the ‘pronoun lobby’ in a session titled ‘Unravelling Wokesism: Examining the DNA of Social Activism.’

Despite their all-out attempts to discredit the Young Thinkers’ Forum and disrupt the ‘Young Thinkers’ Conclave’ 2023 held at NLIU Bhopal, the event was a success. As expected, the leftists had a prolonged meltdown on social media.

Social media meltdown over success of Young Thinker’s Conclave

One Pranjal Agarwal lamented, “Regrettably, at my alma mater, the National Law Institute University in Bhopal, the administration is currently organizing the Young Thinker’s Conclave, scheduled for today and tomorrow.”

He also gloated about how his like-minded coterie of leftists was successful in preventing the Young Thinkers’ Forum from organising their annual Conclave at NLIU Bhopal in 2020.

“Back then, our consensus was that we should not allow a political party to promote its sectarian ideas under the guise of an intellectual conference, a sentiment shared by the student community,” Agarwal brazened out.

“Academic Discourse at NLIU. Disheartened and disgusted,” wrote one leftist troll.

“I have Muslims and queer friends here and this is like their second home,” another leftist troll called for the muzzling of free speech on BLIU campus in Bhopal.

“The problem isn’t just the fact that this so-called conclave is being held in a National Law University. What makes it entirely hopeless is neither students nor faculty members find it even slightly wrong that such views and topics are wrong to discuss,” wrote one ‘R.’

One Nandesh Yadav decried, “This is NLIU Bhopal, organising the Young Thinker’s Conclave. In the wake of elections and the direct influence of a party, they are serving ideological propaganda. Check their “Ten Heads of Ravana”. Pathetic.”

Another leftist claimed, “More depressing news about the takeover of educational institutions. Solidarity with the protesting law students at NLIU Bhopal.”

The Quint and The Wire to the rescue

To lend credence to the social media outrage by leftists, propaganda news outlets such as The Wire and The Quint published vicious articles targeting the ‘Young Thinker’s Conclave’ 2023.

In a piece titled ‘Uproar at NLIU Bhopal Over Event With ‘Communal’ Speakers Where Eminent Academics Were Villanised,’ Senior Assistant Editor of The Wire, Sukanya Shantha claimed that the event somehow ‘villanised foremost academics and political thinkers.’

She also dubbed books, critical of Jesus Christ and tyrant Tipu Sultan, as ones with ‘provocative titles.’ Her article claimed, “Students also pointed to objectionable panel discussion around pronouns used by the queer community.”

Throughout her propaganda-laden piece, the Senior Assistant Editor of The Wire tried to pass off isolated opinions of a handful of leftist students as the ‘dominating viewpoint’ of the student community of the National Law Institute University (NLIU).

“The SBA (Students Body Association) too has been divided on the issue. While the SBA president supported the event, many other members did not,” the article alleged. OpIndia spoke to the SBA President Nripaj Bhati, who made it clear that the student body has a neutral stance on the issue.

“The college or the SBA is not involved in the event. We have maintained a neutral stance on the issue. SBA does not endorse anything that was said by the speakers at the event,” he informed.

The Quint also published a similar article and suggested that students en masse opposed the ‘Young Thinker’s Conclave’ held at NLIU Bhopal.

“The event scheduled for Saturday, 30 September and Sunday, 1 October, drew flak for antagonising scholars such as Ramachandra Guha, historian Irfan Habib, Romila Thapar, and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, among others,” it claimed, referring to the meltdown of leftists on social media.

“Several students who spoke to The Quint claimed that these people have aired discriminatory and polarising social and political views in the past,” the propaganda media outlet attempted to build a case to censor the speakers of the event.

As expected, The Quint was quick to jump on the ‘Islamophobia’ and ‘transphobia’ bandwagon over criticism of ‘minority veto’ in India and the rising woke culture in the West. The writers of the propaganda-laden piece, Aliza Noor and Vishnukant Tiwari, also cribbed over ‘Jai Shri Ram’ sloganeering at the event.

“According to several students, Professor Raka Aarya, Dean, Student Welfare has allegedly been on a “witch-hunt” targeting students who are writing against the event on social media platform,” the article further alleged.

Disclaimer: OpIndia reached out to Ashutosh Thakur, the Director of the Young Thinkers’ Forum, and Raka Arya, the Dean of Student Affairs, via telephone call. The article will accordingly be updated after we receive their response.

J&K DSP Aadil Mushtaq, brother of Youth Congress leader, suspended days after arrest for aiding terrorists

0

Jailed Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police (J&K DSP) Aadil Mushtaq was suspended by the home department on Sunday (1 October) on charges of aiding terrorists, corruption, and tempering of evidence. Adil was arrested on multiple charges on 21st September following a search operation at his residence in Srinagar.

The suspension order by the J&K administration read, “In terms of Rule 31(2) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956, DSP Adil Mushtaq shall be deemed to have been placed under suspension with effect from September 21 i.e. the date of arrest of the officer in a case under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and section 167, 193, 201, 210, 218 and 221 of the Indian Penal Code at Nowgam police station.”

Aadil Mushtaq allegedly accepted a bribe of Rs 2.7 lakh to “save” Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists Umer Adil Dar and Muzamil Zahoor. This information was unearthed after surveillance was mounted on the two terrorists leading to the recovery of terror funds worth Rs 32 lakh in February this year. Adil was arrested after the same.

Another damning allegation against Aadil, reportedly corroborated by scientific-technical evidence, includes rampant misuse of official position for sexual gratification. Aadil allegedly blackmailed the victims into silence by threatening them with objectionable videos, misuse, and misappropriation of government property, and sustaining corruption/extortion to maintain a luxurious lifestyle.

The dossier against Aadil is based on technical surveillance mounted on him for the past six months or so. It reportedly paints him as a man “with good looks” who joined the Kashmir Police Service but was eventually overpowered by alleged greed and desire to maintain an opulent lifestyle. During his tenure as a DySP in the traffic department, Aadil is said to have fabricated allegations of traffic violations to make young men and well-off women present themselves before him.

A report by Times of India (TOI) citing sources claimed that Aadil lured and threatened the young women, leading them to a room he reserved for himself at the tourist reception centre (TRC) in Srinagar, and sexually exploited them. He allegedly blackmailed his victims with video recordings, and threatened them with claims that he was well-connected and had a long tenure left and would get to them.

An office reportedly told TOI, “It seems this is the reason why most victims did not complain against him.” On 21 September, Aadil had tried to escape by jumping a wall when the cops came to arrest him. Aadil had formatted his phone to wipe out evidence. Officials recovered several videos from his devices and details of his victims. Some of the victims have corroborated the crime and one claimed that the sexual assault left her badly injured.

Other charges against Aadil include “theft” of 200 livestock “seized” by him. He had also “taken away” four tents, and 16 sleeping bags and carry-bags each from the J&K tourism department office in September 2022 which were never returned. A hotel owner had also allegedly “bought” Aadil an expensive luxury item from Tata Clique, the receipt of which was retrieved.

Officials are now probing if Aadil misused his position as the officer in charge of security at the Srinagar airport. Aadil was put in charge of the investigation into the LeT terror module case under UAPA. It was revealed later that Aadil got in touch with terrorist Muzamil Zahoor and received Rs 2.73 lakh in cash to save him by restricting the investigation.

In March 2023, Aadil was shifted out of his position as SDPO Nowga and lost control of the probe. The probe into the LeT terror financer Muzamil Zahoor was started again by the new investigator. When Muzamil approached Aadil for help for a second time, the latter allegedly took assistance of his juniors and tried to manufacture false statements in the case.

Moreover, Aadil also had significant connections with a section of media in Delhi. He had maintained long-standing associations with reputed officers within the Jammu and Kashmir Police Department. He reportedly belongs to an influential family and his brother is a Young Congress leader in Baramulla.

Aadil is the son-in-law of a former district and sessions judge who joined Farooq Abdullah’s National Conference (NC) for a party ticket from a South Kashmir constituency in the upcoming elections.

Along with Aadil Mushtaq, Budgam additional superintendent of police (ASP) Gowhar Ahmad Khan has also been placed under suspension.

The suspension order read, “In terms of Rule 31(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, pending an inquiry into his conduct, Budgam ASP Gowhar Ahmad Khan, is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect. The officer shall remain attached with zonal police headquarters, Kashmir, during the period of suspension.”

‘Congress focussed on vote bank’: PM Modi talks about Kanhaiya Lal beheading by Islamists for the first time. What he said in Rajasthan speech

On Monday, October 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed the Congress government in the state of Rajasthan over the murder of Kanhaiya Lal. Kanhaiya Lal was a Hindu tailor who was beheaded by two Islamists identified as Mohammad Riyaz and Ghouse Mohammad on June 28, 2022, for supporting former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and her alleged blasphemous remarks on Prophet Muhammad.

“Did you ever imagine something like what happened in Udaipur? Such a big sin took place in the land of Rajasthan, which has the tradition of not attacking even the enemy by deceit. The murderers come on the pretext of getting clothes sewn and then cut the tailor’s neck without fear, and then proudly make the video go viral. And the Congress government is worried about the vote bank even in that,” PM Modi said while addressing a public meeting in Rajasthan’s Chittorgarh district.

Kanhaiya Lal, who had a tailoring shop in Udaipur’s Maldas Street, was attacked by the culprits who posed as customers. The duo fled away from the spot on their bike after they brutally murdered Lal last year in June.

The Prime Minister said that the Congress government has ruined the image of the state in the eyes of the world. “What kind of image of the brave land of Rajasthan has been presented by the Congress to the world? It is not possible to celebrate any festival in Rajasthan peacefully. No one knows when riots will break out or when a curfew will be imposed,” he said.

He also stated that the Congress party in the state has established an environment in which the common individual is concerned about his life, the businessman is concerned about his business, and the worker is concerned about his job. “This anti-development environment has to be changed. Be it rioters or criminals, only a BJP government can fix it, and it has been our track record,” he pressed.

He also referred to the Congress administration as a ‘kursi bachao sarkar’. Invoking women’s safety, law and order, and the “paper leak mafia,” Modi said that the Ashok Gehlot-led government had done nothing but safeguard his seat.

In his speech, Modi emphasized the state’s worrisome statistics, which place it at the top of the crime ranking. He criticized the government for mismanagement during its five-year reign, claiming that it had left Rajasthan in shambles.

“Here, Gehlot was just trying to save the CM chair, and half of Congress was busy toppling his chair. Gehlot ji himself knows he is leaving the CM post, which is why he has already congratulated the BJP. You see what he is saying these days: that once BJP forms government, his schemes should not be stopped,” PM Modi remarked.

Modi charged that the Congress party was only unified in their desire to plunder the state’s wealth. He also stated that the state was among the top in terms of criminal cases. “Today, when it comes to crime, Rajasthan comes out on top. The maximum number of cases of crime against women are from Rajasthan… Is this why you voted for Congress?” he pondered.

He also assured that once the BJP comes to power, hooliganism shall go. “BJP will come and stop the riots, BJP will come and stop stone pelting, BJP will come and stop dishonesty, BJP will come, it will bring women security, BJP will come and bring employment, BJP will come and make Rajasthan prosperous. The message of the people of the state has reached the ears of Congress leaders,” the PM stated.

Modi also addressed the state’s paper leaks, vowing a thorough inquiry and the most severe punishments for those responsible. Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid foundations for a number of development projects totaling Rs 7,000 crore in Rajasthan’s Chittorgarh.

He dedicated the Rs 4,500-crore Mehsana-Bathinda-Gurdaspur gas pipeline, the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited’s LPG facility at Abu Road, as well as many railway projects, tourism amenities, and an Indian Institute of Information Technology permanent campus in Kota. He also inaugurated a new four-lane road on National Highway 12 in the Darah-Jhalawar-Teendhar segment, which cost Rs 1,480 crore to complete.

Bihar releases results of its Caste census: CM Nitish Kumar’s caste accounts for 2.87%, Deputy CM Tejashwi’s caste 14% of the population

On Monday (October 2), Bihar officially released the caste census report revealing that approximately 63% of the state population falls in the backward and extremely backward classes. The Additional Chief Secretary of Bihar, Vivek Kumar Singh made this announcement stating that the total population of Bihar is more than 13 crores.

As per the Caste Census report, 27% state population comes under the backward classes while 36% falls in the extremely backward classes categorisation.

Addressing a press briefing, Bihar’s Additional Chief Secretary Vivek Kumar Singh said, “The report of the caste-based census conducted in Bihar has been released. Backward class in Bihar is 27.13%. The extremely backward class is 36.01%, General category is 15.52%. The total population of Bihar is more than 13 crores.”

According to the Caste Survey, Yadavs account for almost 14.27% of the total state population. Among the OBCs, they are the largest in terms of population. Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav hails from this OBC subgroup. The Kurmis, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar belongs to the community, make up 2.87 percent of the population.

The order to conduct a caste census in the state was given last year. Subsequently, the decision of the Bihar government was challenged in the Patna High Court. Appearing for NGO ‘Youth for Equality’, Senior advocate CS Vaidyanathan challenged the survey submitting that the exercise was an infringement of people’s right to privacy.

However, the High Court dismissed the pleas challenging the decision of the state government to conduct a caste-based survey in the state. This paved the way for a caste-based survey in the state.

Robert Fico set to become PM of Czechoslovakia, had in 2016 declared ‘Islam has no place in Slovakia’

0

On Sunday, October 1, Former Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico’s party won the Slovakian parliamentary elections with nearly each of the votes counted throughout the Central European country.

The election was predicted to be a close race between Robert Fico’s populist SMER party and the centrist Progressive Slovensko (PS). However, with 99.98 per cent of 6,000 polling stations counted, SMER-SSD led with 23%, and PS trailed with 17%.

The 59-year-old, two-time former Slovakian PM, is now widely expected to become Slovakia’s prime minister for the third time. Fico is said to have mounted a political comeback after campaigning on pro-Russian lines and promised to withdraw support for Ukraine’s ongoing conflict.

Fico promised to remove Slovakia’s military backing for Ukraine in Russia’s war if his bid for re-election would be successful. Even during the campaigns, he was unequivocal in his opposition to backing Ukraine.

Notably, Slovakia was the first country to supply air defences to Ukraine during the invasion. Fico has demanded that the Slovakian government stop delivering weapons to Kyiv, and he has vowed categorically that if he succeeds in office, the country will not send another round of ammunition. “Instead of sending arms to Kyiv, the EU and the US should use their influence to force Russia and Ukraine to strike a compromise peace deal,” he was quoted as saying.

Slovakia had provided Ukraine with everything from Soviet-era MiG-29 fighter jets to S-300 air defence systems, helicopters, and armoured vehicles. It also took in a large number of refugees from the war-torn country. However, now the country would no longer extend support to Ukraine.

It becomes important to note that Fico has served as prime minister of Slovakia twice before this. One of his terms continued from 2006 to 2010 and he again ruled over the state between 2012 to 2018. Apart from his opposition to extending support to Ukraine, Fico has also been vocal about his views regarding the assaults by the Muslim community.

In the year 2016, on New Year’s Eve, around 90 women had reported complaints after they were robbed and sexually molested by young and drunk men. Two women had also reported that they were raped. Around 500 police complaints were filed and 40% of these complaints mentioned that the women were sexually assaulted by men who had a migration background, mainly from North Africa and Arab.

After this, Fico made a statement saying that no Muslim migrant would be allowed in the country. “Government has always been opposed to the EU forcing the member states to accept refugees with diametrically opposed values and ways of life and different relationship to women. Muslim refugees are impossible to integrate,” he had said.

Also in the year 2015, Fico addressed the Muslims in the country indicating that they were infiltrating the religiosity of the country and building several mosques within the nation.

“If Slovakia is a country with the dominance of the Catholic Church and the Evangelical Church is the second strongest therefore we should not easily tolerate that 300 or 400 Muslims will come here, they start to construct mosques and start to change the character, culture and values of our state,” he had said.

In the year 2016, Fico publicly faulted the 2016 Paris attacks on ISIS and Syrian refugees attacking German women on Muslim immigration to Europe and, more broadly, on the presence of Islam in European countries, with him and his party chalking up the increase in violence to the rising Islamisation of the continent.

He further stated that his government monitored every Muslim on its territory. During his campaign in the same year, under the banner of ‘We’re protecting Slovakia’, Fico had stated that “thousands of terrorists and Islamic State fighters are entering Europe with migrants”.

“I can tell you we will never bring one single Muslim to Slovakia,” he had declared. Fico had also approved legislation prohibiting Islam from receiving governmental recognition. As a result, Slovakia is the only EU member state without a mosque.
