Alleged blasphemy Row: Christians gather outside Kanpur’s Yatimkhana Masjid to give red roses to Muslims after Friday prayers

On Friday, the members of the Christian community offered rose flowers to the Islamists who had arrived at the Yatimkhana Masjid in Kanpur for Namaz amid the alleged blasphemy Row. The Christian people accompanied by a few Islamists and the city Police could be seen waiting for the people who had come to offer Namaz at the Mosque.

In a video shared by the Hindustan Times, the members of the Christian community could also be seen holding the plates of red roses waiting for the Islamists to come out of the Mosque after their Friday prayers. This is days after severe violence erupted in the city of Kanpur as Islamists protested against ex-BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for her alleged ‘blasphemous’ remarks.

On June 3, the Muslim community in Kanpur called for a shutdown in the area around Mosque to protest against Sharma. The Islamists gathered after their Friday prayers and pelted stones against the Police and the civilians injuring many. Similar protests were carried out by the Islamists in various parts of Uttar Pradesh disturbing the law and order and peace.

Nupur Sharma in a TV debate had made some comments as per the Islamic texts on Prophet Muhammad that irked the Muslims. She argued that since people are mocking the Hindu faith repeatedly, the Hindus can also mock other religions by referring to Islamic beliefs and the life of Prophet Muhammad. Her statement was taken out of context by Alt News co-founder and alleged fact-checker Mohammed Zubair, who released an army of trolls and Islamists after Sharma.

Multiple FIRs have been registered against Sharma and open calls for her death have also been made. She also is in reciept of threats from extremist organizations across the border. The Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) supporters from Pakistan has announced a cash reward of Pakistani Rupees 5 million (Around 19.5 lakhs INR) to anyone who would behead Nupur for allegedly committing ‘blasphemy’. Also, the terrorist organisations like the Al Qaeda have threatened to conduct a suicide attack in India over Sharma’s remarks.

It is important to note that amid severe Islamist death threats to Sharma, the Christian community in Kanpur has stepped up to distribute roses to Islamists after their Friday prayers out of love and concern. A couple of days ago, musician Vishal Dadlani had also shared a message of love for Indian Muslims saying that they were ‘seen, heard, loved and treasured’.

“I want to say this to Indian Muslims on behalf of a majority of Indian Hindus. You are seen and heard, loved and treasured. Your pain is our pain. Your patriotism is not in question, your identity is not a threat to India or anyone else’s religion. We are one Nation, one family”, he had tweeted. The message shared by him ‘on behalf of all the Hindus’ also stated that the identity of Muslims was not at all a threat to India or any other religion.

The Nupur Sharma controversy is still burning in India with Islamists coming out violently on the streets. Staging protests in various parts of the country, Islamists are either demanding the immediate arrest of Nupur Sharma or are demanding her death. Severe Islamist protests against Sharma have so far been executed in Indian cities of Kanpur, Prayagraj, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Solapur (Maharashtra), and Ludhiana (Punjab), Belagavi (Karnataka), and also in the states of West Bengal and Jharkhand.

AAP Gujarat copies UNICEF video on ending child labour to promote its own politics, doesn’t give credit to the UN body

On Wednesday, June 15, Aam Aadmi Party’s Gujarat unit tweeted a video to promote child education. The video talks about ending child labour and instead, sending children to schools. Sharing the video, the Aam Aadmi Party said that they are the only ones who give importance to education in nation-building. However, it doesn’t look like they are the only ones who thought about sending children to schools instead of making them work, as the video was created by United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).

Sharing the video, the AAP Gujarat unit said, “Educated nation, able nation. The only government that considers the right to education as a primary duty and gives importance to education in nation building is the government of ‘Aam Aadmi Party’!”

However, the creative video was already shared on the 12th of June by UNICEF India. Sharing the video, UNICEF tweeted, “There is no place for child labour in our society. Every child must be given every opportunity to thrive. Today and every day, UNICEF will continue its work to #EndChildLabour everywhere.”

While sharing the video to further their own politics, AAP did not give any credit to UNICEF, the source from which they ‘copied’ the video, and didn’t give any disclaimers whether they have asked the UN body for any approval to use their content for AAP’s politics. AAP is trying to make inroads into Gujarat during the upcoming Gujarat elections later this year and they are trying to use AAP’s ‘education model’ to do that.

Even though quite a few Twitter users even called out AAP Gujarat for this blatant copying, AAP is yet to delete this video or offer an explanation for this act of copying others’ content without any credit.

Statistics have shown that AAP’s education model is a farce and ground realities don’t support the party’s claims, but it has not stopped the party from spending heavily on the promotion of this model. However, with all the funds available to the marketing department of the Aam Aadmi Party, as evident from their ads on every media platform, it is a bit embarrassing for the party that their state units are copying creative content from other sources.

‘Armed forces are not NREGA’: Scholar Anand Ranganathan gives 7 reasons for supporting the Agnipath scheme

Amidst the violent protests that have overshadowed the newly launched Agnipath scheme, scientist and political commentator Anand Ranganathan has emerged as the voice of sanity.

During a debate on Times Now on Thursday (June 16), he listed 7 reasons for supporting the army recruitment scheme. At the very onset, Anand Ranganathan pointed out that the Agnipath scheme has the unequivocal support of the Chiefs of the three wings of the Indian Armed Forces.

“Across decades and governments, I cannot think of a single instance when our Chiefs have knowingly taken a decision, not in the interest of either the Armed Forces or the nation. if they are supporting this scheme, then, they would have banged their heads together on this one and ironed out all the possible impediments,” he remarked.

Citing late Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Anand Ranganathan emphasised that the armed forces are not employment schemes. He said, “They are not MGNREGA. I am sorry. In fact, they should be and they are one of the toughest forces and places to gain entry.”

“Only the best should be chosen and once they are (chosen), they should be routinely tested so that they remain the best. If our military feels that there should be multiple rounds of merit-based competitions, by all means, it should be encouraged to implement such a policy,” he further added.

Thirdly, Anand Ranganathan pointed out that such recruitment schemes are prevalent in other nations as well such as China, Russia, France and the United States. “India is not an exception,” he highlighted.

Anand Ranganathan highlights the benefits of the Agnipath scheme

Given that the fate of the nation rests on its armed forces in the event of foreign aggression, he emphasised the need for a young, and fit army. “The UPSC and the IITs have a multi-level selection process. So why not the army forces,” inquired Anand Ranganathan.

The political commentator then took a deep dive into the merits of the Agnipath scheme. “You have a merit-based inclusion, after which you are trained for 4 years. At the end of it, you accumulate more than 10 lacs and then you get an opportunity to further compete for a position in defence forces,” he stated.

Anand Ranganathan added, “Those who do not succeed at this second step, come out of it with a degree, 10 lacs, a glowing certificate of having served the country at such a young age and inculcated the values of discipline and national service.

He pointed out how several States are now thinking about inducting the Agniveers into police forces, paramilitary services and other agencies. “I can’t think of better takes on the CV of a 21-year-old, can you?” he asked.

Dismisses claims of naysayers and recruitment of Agniveers in terror outfits

Sixth, the political commentator rubbished claims and aspersions that Agniveers would be recruited by the underworld and terrorist organisations on completion of their stint with the Indian armed forces.

“I am sorry but this is ridiculous. This is as ridiculous as saying that once rejected for the national team for Olympic boxing or shot put, the 10s and 1000s of boxers and shot putters would be recruited by stone pelters and thugs,” he stressed.

Anand Ranganathan urged his audience to not blindly follow the naysayers, whose hatred for the Indian Prime Minister had made them oppose toilets for the poor. He also added a word of caution for his viewers.

“We have seen how this government repeatedly brings great schemes and policies but in reaction to Opposition prodding and street violence, hastily retreats. Farm laws, just being one glaring example. Who knows this government might take back this scheme too, which would be a pity,” he concluded.

Demands of students and violent protests

One of the grievances of the armed force aspirants is that only 25% of the Agniveers, recruited under the new scheme, will get the opportunity to continue for a full term. Many have also cried foul over the lack of pensionary benefits.

Some of the students have also complained that the recruitment in the Indian army was halted for a period of 2 years due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus. They claim that their future will be shrouded in obscurity with the implementation of the new scheme.

“It takes us 3 years to prepare for Indian army exams. We prepare for 3 years and get to serve only 4. What is there for us after we retire? The government is saying that we will get to join the IT sector. What will I do? Become a security guard. Is that what I am preparing for?” said a protestor on News 24.

In a bid to hold the State to ransom and force the government to withdraw the Agnipath scheme, the students resorted to violence and vandalism. Damage to private and public property, and large-scale arson attacks were observed in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana.

The grim law and order situation, created by the armed forces aspirants, forced former Army General VK Singh to rule that they are unfit to become part of the Indian army.

Goodbye IE, welcome Edge: Here’s why Microsoft decided to retire the Internet Explorer, the Gen X browser

Microsoft on Wednesday (June 15) finally decided to do away with its classic web browser ‘Internet Explorer’ directing the users to Edge, the new Microsoft-hosted web browser. The users are hardly mourning Explorer’s exit as it had become less compatible and had already started troubling the users with its slow, bloated, and not-so-secure connection.

According to the reports, the company announcing the official exit of the browser said on June 10 that the Explorer users would be automatically redirected to Microsoft’s Edge browser. It also added that the decision to retire the blue ‘e’ browser was taken as the web developers today make websites less likely compatible with it. Gen Y and Gen Z probably has never used the browser as more effective competitors like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari had already started dominating the market. But people born in the 70s and 80s, who have first tasted the internet connectivity with dial-up connections know their lives with Internet Explorer.

Born in 1995, the Explorer served the internet users with a better browser than the Netscape Navigator which was the existent dominant browser back then. Though slower and sluggish, the IE as its name suggests aided the curious intellectuals to explore the world of the internet.

Journey of Microsoft from IE to Edge-

Back in 1995, the IE was first released as an add-on package to the Windows 95 users back then. Considering the wider appreciation for the service, the company made available the latest versions as free downloads and tied them permanently to Windows. Within a few years, IE competed with Netscape to become the most widely used web browser. By the year 2003, the usage share of the browser had reached 95%.

The company continued to introduce feature developments to the browser and many businesses worldwide chose IE to host their trades online. However, as Microsoft in 2015 introduced a new browser named Edge, it stopped adding features to the IE, making it the least used platform by 2022. According to StatCounter, the market share of IE today has reduced to 0.38% across all the platforms.

To note, the company after spending around $100 million every year on the IE decided to back it in favor of the newly introduced Microsoft Edge. IE’s demise on June 15 also didn’t come as a surprise to many as the company in the year 2015 itself had said that IE would be supported last by Windows 9 and that Edge would be the default browser for all Windows 10 devices, including computers, tablets, and smartphones.

Also, in the year 2021, the general manager of Microsoft Edge Enterprise, Sean Lyndersay announced that Microsoft had plans to put an end to the older browser from June 15, 2022, in favour of its Edge browser. “Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, more secure, and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications”, Lyndersay said in May 2021 blog post.

How is the redirection of users from IE to Edge going?

Though IE has served a lot of people belonging to Gen X in their businesses and official projects, it had started losing the market share as more effective and fast-serving browsers like Google Chrome and Firefox were racing to dominate the market. The beginning of Chrome and Firefox in short had already reflected the demise of IE. Realizing that IE could not compete Chrome, Microsoft introduced Edge in 2015 to offer the users with a more quicker and complex browsing experience.

The motive of bringing a ‘chromium browser’ was just to provide the users with premium internet service in competition against Chrome. As of today the number of users using the web Edge is 158 million. As of May 2022, it accounts for 10.07% of desktop usage across the globe. Though Chrome is ranking top of the list with 66% of users, Edge is second in the list when compared to Mozilla’s Firefox (7.86%) and Safari (9.61%).

The straight and simple reason for Edge’s growth is its default knot with Windows 11. Today, Microsoft Edge is compatible with macOS, iOS, Android, and, of course, Windows. Though the Windows version after 10 is no more supporting the IE browser paving the way for the Edge to make its position in the web world, the Windows 11 users will be able to access the IE browser in IE mode.

All the Windows users, even the Windows 11 users who click on the IE are automatically dragged to the Edge with an active ‘IE mode’ button on the screens. Though the Edge has promised to shift all the user passwords and bookmarks to the newer browser, the users can access the older IE browser by clicking on the ‘reload IE mode’ in case they encounter any sort of problem. Eventually, Internet Explorer will be permanently disabled as part of a future Windows update.

Why Microsoft killed IE?

Many, who still rely on the IE wonder that if the company already had an option to introduce the IE mode then why did it choose to kill the browser risking so many dependent business sites. But it’s important to understand as explained by the company that instead of spending money on incremental improvements, it’s always better to start with a clean slate.

The company while announcing the demise of IE said that spending money on the incremental improvements was also not a problem unless they matched the general improvements to the web at large. The company also claimed that Edge is ‘faster, more secure and modern for today’s internet. Resolving the issue for several old IE-dependent websites, the company reiterated that ‘IE mode’ is to work as a savior for them till the year 2029.

Microsoft which was the earliest one to work on an independent browser promised a future where the web could deliver any program to any computer user. With the later dominant presence of Chrome and Firefox and Safari and whatnot, Microsoft eventually took a step back to roar back with its new, efficient and compatible browser named Edge.

Twitter user shares a quote on Brahmins and Hindu Shastras from his teacher, Quint editor asks him to burn the Shastras in response

On Friday, June 17th, a Twitter user by the name of Syamkrishnan Kamath shared a quote from his teacher Brahmashri B Sundar Kumar on Brahmins and Shastras. Little did he know that he is going to get so much hate for sharing a simple quote. Leading the charge was leftist media portal Quint’s copy editor who advised him to burn the Shastras in response.

Kamath, who runs the Twitter handle @kamathji wrote, “Many think being brahmin is a privilege, but the shastras actually have imposed the most restrictions on them. It’s indeed a privilege in the spiritual sense, but NOT in the material sense in which we understand this world – Brahmashri B Sundar Kumar”

However, this thought from Kamath’s teacher seems to have really irked Quint’s Copy Editor Tejas Harad. In response to Kamath’s tweet, Harad asked him to follow Ambedkar’s advice and burn the Shastras.

Perturbed by this extreme reaction to his teacher’s quote, Kamath asked, “I simply wrote a quote of my religious teacher in a discourse. Here is senior editor of @TheQuint calling for burning Hindu religious scriptures. Will it be okay if Hindus demand burning of some other religion’s religious texts?

Instead of answering the question that why he thinks it is acceptable to ask for burning Hindu religious scriptures, The Quint’s editor chose to make his profile private.

At a time when the country is seeing violent protests and demands for the beheading of a woman over alleged “blasphemy” against Islam’s Prophet Muhammad, one can’t help but notice how easy it is to talk about burning Hindu scriptures.

Harad was not the only one who got upset with Kamath for sharing his teacher’s words on Brahmins and Shastras. ‘Musician’ TM Krishna, who had previously stated that he feels no empathy when RSS workers are killed, called it “cocky convenience shrouded in false humility”.

The ‘youth’ protesting because they want to work for the army attacked a school bus and hurled petrol bombs at a train, forcing kids and women to flee: Details

Following the union government’s unveiling of the Agniveer scheme in cooperation with all three armed forces, throngs of ‘youth’ protestors rushed to the streets and vandalized public property under the guise of ‘protests’ and marches. So-called armed forces aspirants damaged public property, set fire to trains, and brought life to a standstill in various Indian states, demanding that the government scheme be reversed. In another such incident, a school bus carrying small kids and teachers was attacked in Darbhanga in Bihar.

The bus carrying school children aged between 5 and 6 years was stuck in the road when the attackers started pelting stones on vehicles, including police vehicles in Darbhanga. Several police vehicles were torched, buses and other vehicles were damaged in stone-pelting and the roads were blocked. The school bus also got stuck there and faced stone pelting, and the terrified kids were crying. Later the bus managed to leave the spot with the help of police.

In UP’s Mathura, the so-called young protestors hurled stones at an old couple passing through the road. They were saved as police reached and fired on the protestors to push them away and secure the lives of people stranded on the road.

Another video is going viral over the internet in which some protestors can be seen saying that if the government doesn’t repeal the scheme, they will become terrorists instead of joining the army. A fellow protestor says, “Agar Sarkar Kanoon Wapis Nahi Legi To Majburi Me Hum Aatankwadi Ban Jayenge.” (If the government doesn’t take this back, we will become terrorists in helplessness).

Several trains were set ablaze at various stations by the anti-Agnipath scheme protestors, resulting in the cancellation of large number of trains across the nation. Railway stations at Ballia in Uttar Pradesh, Samastipur and Aarah in Bihar, and Secunderabad in Telangana were attacked and trains were set ablaze by the rioting ‘youth.’ The East Coast Express was attacked and its coaches were set ablaze at Secunderabad Railway Station. Similarly, several coaches of the Jammu Tawi-Guwahati was burnt in Samastipur. Petrol bombs were also hurled in the vicinity, endangering the lives of individuals, particularly children, who were already terrified by the violence.

The Bharatiya Janata Party Office in Bihar’s Madhepura was also set ablaze by the protesting mob who went on a rampage.

At the Islampur Railway station in Bihar’s Nalanda district, 3 AC coaches of an express train were torched by the arsonists. The officials at the railway station struggled to control the fire which endangered the lives of the passengers on the platform.

In the Buxar district of Bihar, a protestor said that one cannot work on a mere salary of twenty-one thousand rupees per month. Anguished by the introduction of the scheme, the youth, who seemed to be unclear about the details, stressed that pension should be deducted from the people and leaders who earn salaries of lakhs.

It is discernible from the remarks of the protestors that their concern is more about the monetary benefits and the tenure attached to the scheme than the valour and opportunities attached to it. The aggressive hordes demonstrating in various places do not appear to have the necessary etiquette for joining the army. These violent crowds appear to be politically and purposefully driven by apathetic motives, and they do not appear to be part of the community of defence exam aspirants.

Maharashtra: Bombay High Court prohibits arrested ministers Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh from voting in state MLC elections

The Bombay High Court today dismissed NCP leaders Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh’s plea seeking permission to cast their votes in the Maharashtra Legislative Council’s elections. Polling for the Maharashtra Legislative Council is scheduled to be held on June 20. After today’s court order, both leaders will no longer be able to vote.

Deshmukh and Malik had moved the high court seeking to vote in the upcoming Legislative Council elections on June 20. Elections for 10 seats of the legislative council will be held on June 20. Deshmukh and Malik had filed a petition seeking a grant of a day’s bail on the bond so that they could vote in the elections.

In the argument on behalf of the NCP leaders, it was said that the two are yet to be convicted of the charges against them and therefore they cannot be deprived of the right to vote. It was also claimed that the court had the privilege of allowing the two to vote. In response to this, the Enforcement Directorate argued that according to law, prisoners don’t have the right to vote.

Earlier too, the two jailed leaders were not allowed to vote in the Rajya Sabha elections. The two leaders had approached the Bombay High Court after the petition was turned down by the Special PMLA Court. But the court refused to hear their petition.

The Enforcement Directorate had arrested Malik in a money laundering case that links with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. Anil Deshmukh was accused of a 100 crore bribe when he was home minister of the Maharashtra government. The allegation was levelled against him by the then Mumbai Police Commissioner. Anil Deshmukh had resigned from his post when the Bombay High Court approved a CBI probe into the case. Both leaders are currently in jail.

Delhi: Zomato delivery executive stabbed with kirpan by two Nihang Sikhs for ‘smoking’, dies after lying on the road for 20 minutes

In another brutal violence by Nihang Sikhs, a youth was killed in Delhi for allegedly smoking on the road. In the early hours of Wednesday, June 15, two Nihang Sikhs reportedly stabbed a food delivery executive in Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area over a petty issue. The 29-year-old deceased who has been identified as Sagar Singh worked as a delivery partner for the food delivery company Zomato.

He was reportedly stabbed in the chest with a kirpan and then his head was smashed with bricks by the two Nihang Sikhs for ‘smoking’ on the roadside. The deceased, according to his family members, was lying on the road in a pool of blood for at least 20 minutes, but none of the bystanders stepped forward to help him. Later, another delivery boy spotted Sagar Singh and rushed him to the hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.

Deputy commissioner of police (west) Ghanshyam Bansal said that the police control room was informed about the incident at 12.30. When the local police reached the spot, residents told them that the victim has been taken to the hospital. Sagar was declared dead on arrival by doctors at the hospital, he added.

“The victim, Sagar Singh, was stabbed in his chest. Initial probe showed that Singh had a quarrel with two people after which he was stabbed,” the DCP added.

DCP Bansal further informed that based on the CCTV footage acquired from the crime scene, the police arrested one of the accused Harshdeep Singh (22), a resident of nearby Chander Vihar, and the kirpan used in the murder was also recovered from him.

Bansal added that the police have identified and are on the lookout for the other accused. Police said an FIR has been filed against the accused under IPC section 302 (murder).

“During interrogation, Harshdeep told the police that he and his friend were near a restaurant on street number 13, Krishna Puri, when they saw Sagar blocking their way. He said they asked Sagar to move aside but he rebuked them instead,” said the DCP adding that the claims made by accused Harshdeep Singh are being verified.

In what transpired, at around 12.30 am, Sagar went to a restaurant to pick up a meal order, and two people were standing nearby. The accused prevented Sagar from smoking cigarettes on the spot when he attempted to do so. Soon after, the trio got into a disagreement, and the fight quickly escalated, with one of the accused stabbing Sagar in the chest with a knife. When Sagar attempted to flee the scene, the accused smashed his head with a stone, causing him to collapse and bleed profusely. After some time another food delivery boy noticed Sagar and rushed him to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Meanwhile, Inder Pal, Sagar’s brother-in-law who also works as a delivery agent for Zomato, said Sagar used to work night shifts to get additional money and avoid traffic during the day. Pal added that after the incident he spoke to many eyewitnesses and those who gathered at the spot after Sagar was stabbed. Based on the information he had and what he gathered from eyewitnesses, he told media, “On June 15, he received his first order around 12 am and the order had to be picked up from an eatery close to his house on street number 13. Sagar had dinner with his wife Satwant Kaur alias Komal and their 8-year-old son and left for work. He reached the eatery on the first floor within minutes, picked up the order and climbed down the stairs. He walked across the street and started smoking a cigarette.”

“Two Nihang Sikhs, who were present near the restaurant, abused Sagar for smoking. But when Sagar told them that the was smoking in an open space, and refused to stop, the two Nihangs got angry. They took out their kirpans and stabbed him in the left side of the chest,” Pal alleged. It may be noted that kirpans are religious knifes and swords that Sikhs carry with them.

Santosh Kumar, the proprietor of a building materials store below the restaurant, said he was asleep in his shop before he was awakened at midnight by a commotion that ensued outside his shop. “When I came out, I found Sagar lying in a pool of his blood outside my shop. People who had gathered outside told me that Sagar was also beaten up with bricks that were lying near my shop,” he said.

Santosh Kumar added that the two Nihang Sikhs who stabbed Sagar mercilessly over a petty fight fled, leaving the victim in a pool of blood.

According to the family members of the deceased and Asif, the delivery agent who took Sagar to the hospital, Sagar was laying on the road bleeding for at least 20 minutes and nobody came forward to help him. This led to massive blood loss, leading to his death.

Asif said he was passing by the road when he saw Sagar lying near the pavement. “Till the time I reached, nobody touched his body. It was already 15 minutes at least. If he would have been taken to the hospital in time, he might have been saved,” Asif said.

Asif said he used Sagar’s phone to call his wife and alert her of the incident. He also informed that while attempting to contact the police helpline, the client whose order Sagar was about to deliver called up. “We couldn’t reach the emergency number so I asked the customer to inform the police. He called up the police helpline and a team reached the spot,” Asif recalled.

Sagar has been survived by his wife Satwant Kaur alias Komal and their 8-year-old son.

Sonia Gandhi in hospital for fungal infection in the lower respiratory tract, also facing other post-Covid symptoms: Congress

Congress president Sonia Gandi has reportedly been diagnosed with a lower respiratory tract infection after being admitted to the Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi. She is still being monitored and treated, according to the Congress party.

According to AICC general secretary Jairam Ramesh, Sonia Gandhi was hospitalized on June 12 after bleeding from her nose due to a recent Covid infection. In a statement, Jairam Ramesh said, “She was immediately put under treatment and underwent a related follow-up procedure yesterday morning.”

Jairam Ramesh, the party’s new general secretary in charge of communications, stated that a fungal infection in her lower respiratory tract was diagnosed during her hospitalization. He further said, “She is currently being treated for it along with other post-Covid symptoms. She continues to be under close observation and treatment.”

The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Sonia Gandhi on June 23 in a money-laundering investigation. The summons is issued in the National Herald case. Her son, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, is already being questioned by the investigation agency, with his next deposition expected on Monday. After the agency issued the summons, the Congress leaders accused the central government of misusing the government agencies.

On the other hand, as Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were summoned by ED, the Congress party launched violent protests in various cities across the country. Congress workers protested in front of the central government’s various offices in the states. In one such protest in Hyderabad of Telangana, Congress leader and former minister Renuka Chowdhury lost her cool and grabbed a police sub-inspector by his collar. Many leaders of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee were detained by the Hyderabad police in this case.

The Enforcement Directorate case had sent a notice to Sonia Gandhi to appear before it on June 8 for interrogation in the National Herald case. But due to the Covid-19 infection, she is now scheduled to appear before the ED on June 23.

Pune: Young woman raped by one Rehan Syed while his friend Arbaz made a video, 6 booked for blackmailing

A case of rape and blackmail has come to light in Pune on 17th June 2022. The accused youth Rehan Syed reportedly shot a video of the victim girl with the help of his friends and threatened her that the clip will soon be viral on social media.

A case is registered against the accused, his friends, and his family members in the Kondhwa police station of Pune. As the accused are absconding, the police are on the lookout.
