In Uttar Pradesh, a person named Nawazish has been arrested for faking his identity and trapping a Hindu girl to exploit her physically and finically. As per reports, the victim has lodged an FIR at the Aliganj police station of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh.
Nawazish, who is now in judicial custody had introduced himself as a Hindu named Vishal Thakur and befriended the girl. He used to put kalawa on his wrist to convince the victim, as per the complaint.
Police seized his mobile phone and laptop and found pictures, contact numbers and details of multiple girls. Some objectionable photographs and videos were in his mobile phone and laptop and the Lucknow police suspect that the accused might have trapped many other girls in grooming jihad with similar modus operandi.
The accused had allegedly extorted around Rs 2.5 lakh from the victim, besides sexually exploiting her under a fake identity, as per the complaint.
After the victim lodged an FIR on November 6, the case was transferred to the Gazipur police station for investigation. Police arrested Nawazish when he was trying to run away to Ambedkar Nagar. Lucknow Police is also looking for his three other friends and their suspected involvement in the crime is being investigated.
According to Inspector of Gazipur police station Anil Kumar, the accused is a native of Bakhsari of Ambedkar Nagar and he is pursuing B. Tech from a private college. He also does some odd works like KYC update and runs a shop.
The victim came in contact with the accused in August as she had to do her KYC update. After getting her number, the accused sent her a friendship message and introduced himself as a Hindu boy.
The victim has stated that Nawazish had given her a fake Hindu identity and even used to wear Hindu religious symbols and show off that he follows Hindu rituals, to convince her for the relationship. The victim has submitted that Nawazish fooled her claiming he is facing financial troubles and had taken around 2.5 lakh rupees from her under the promise that he will marry her soon.
On Wednesday, shortly after the unfortunate news of the IAF helicopter’s crash with CDS Bipin Rawat on board broke, Retd armyman Lt Gen Panag shared a ‘RIP’ tweet for the CDS. At that time there was no confirmation on the condition of the helicopter passengers or the number of injured or dead.
Panag’s tweet was shared almost three hours before the official announcement by the Indian Air Force. Since then, Panag has been facing criticism on a social media platform for not waiting for the official word and hurrying to score goals on social media.
Many on Twitter slammed Panag for his insensitive tweet, asking what was the hurry and why could not he show a bit of sensitivity for the families of the 14 passengers on board that chopper who might be eagerly waiting for any news. As the nation grieved for those fallen and prayed for a miracle, expecting Gen Rawat to be among the survivors, brazen and insensitive tweets by the likes of Panag and others only exposed how some people put their personal biases over the national interest.
Author and columnist Salil Tripathi came forward in Panag’s support and asked everyone to apologise to the ‘good General’ (though he retired as Lieutenant General). He said, “Will all those who abused Lt General Panag earlier today for his tribute to CDS Rawat before the govt was prepared with its storyline to announce the tragedy, and questioned his patriotism, now apologise to the good general?”

It is notable here that many individuals, some ex-Army officers like Panag, another Col Baljit Bakshi, National Herald editor Ashlin Matthew were among those who were seen sharing insensitive and insulting tweets over the tragic demise of Gen Rawat and others in the chopper accident.
Amid speculations that it may skip US President Joe Biden led ‘Democracy Summit’ which is being held in virtual format on December 9-10, Pakistan Foreign Office on Wednesday said that it ‘values its partnership with the US’. Thanking the United States for inviting Pakistan for the summit, Pakistan claimed that it is a ‘functional democracy with independent judiciary, vibrant civil society and a free media’.
However, Pakistan remained non-committal on whether or not it would attend the summit especially since its all weather friend China has been kept out of it. Last month, the Biden administration had invited 110 countries to attend the virtual summit. China and Turkey were amongst the few countries that were left out.
“We remain in contact with the US on a range of issues and believe that we can engage on this subject at an opportune time in the future,” Pakistan’s statement on the summit said. And while Pakistan did not specifically said it would be skipping the summit, the officials are reportedly maintaining a silence on the same. However, by and large it seems like Pakistan is skipping the summit after best friend China wasn’t invited by the US. Pakistani media has also reported that Islamabad will not attend the ‘Democracy summit’.
Reports suggest that China has not objected to Pakistan attending the summit but it seems Pakistan on its own decided to not upset the friend. China’s exclusion from the list while inclusion of Taiwan had triggered a strong reaction from Beijing. Interestingly, Arab allies of the US, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates, are also missing from the list. Turkey, a NATO nation, is also missing from the list. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are also missing from the list.
Hours after it was confirmed that Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others died in an unfortunate helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu, videos have started doing the rounds claiming the final moments of the ill-fated IAF aircraft. Two such videos showing chopper crashes have appeared on social media.
Along with several social media users, Times Now Marathi tweeted such a video, saying that it is a video from the helicopter crash.
Another media house named Times Media 24 also posted the video on Facebook, with the same claim.

The video showed a Helicopter high in the air catching fire, and then crashing to the ground. While the chopper free falls in the air, several objects, which can be passengers, baggage, or broken parts of the aircraft, are seen separating from the burning chopper and falling to the ground. This footage directly questions the current theory of today’s crash, which said the helicopter hit the ground due to bad weather, as in the video, the video had already caught fire high in the air.
That is because, the video is old, and the chopper in it was shot down by a missile. The incident is from Syria and it happened almost two years ago. The same video can be seen on YouTube posted in February 2020, which says that it is the video of a Mi-17 helicopter shot down in Syria. The video was originally posted on Facebook by anti-government activists, and they were heard shouting Allah Hu Akbar while filming the crash.
According to reports, it was a Russian military transport helicopter, which was shot down near Aleppo in the Idlib province in Syria. It was targeted using MANPADS, a shoulder-fired surface to air missile, by a Turkey-backed rebel group called National Front for Liberation. Three crew members and two officers on board had died in the terror attack, which was one of the worst attacks on Russian forces in Syria.
A second video is also being shared on social media claiming to be from today. In this video, a video is seen crash landing on the ground. However, no fire is seen on the aircraft, while the chopper that crashed today had caught fire and the victims were burnt to death.

This video is also not from today’s crash where General Rawat and others died, as being claimed by many. It shows an Indian Air Force Mi-17 Helicopter crash landing in Arunachal Pradesh last month.

Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 other personnel died on Wednesday after the Indian Air Force chopper they were travelling in crashed near Coonor in Tamil Nadu earlier today.
The aircraft IAF Mi-17V5 helicopter was on its way from Sulur IAF base in Coimbatore to Defence Staff College in Wellington when it crashed. According to media reports, Rawat, along with Chief of Army Staff MM Naravane, was just 10 minutes away from the destination when the ill-fated incident took place.
In a statement on Wednesday evening, the Indian Air Force confirmed that CDS Gen Bipin Rawat along with 12 others have died in a helicopter crash that took place earlier in the day.
With deep regret, it has now been ascertained that Gen Bipin Rawat, Mrs Madhulika Rawat and 11 other persons on board have died in the unfortunate accident.
Born in March 1958, General Bipin Rawat comes from a military family with several generations having served in the armed forces. He was commissioned to the fifth Bn(battalion) and the Eleventh Gorkha Rifles of the Indian Army in December 1978 after completing his education and training from the National Defence Academy and the Indian Military Academy.
Bipin Rawat was a graduate of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington. He has also attended the command and general staff course at Fort Leavenworth, USA. Rawat was also an alumnus of St. Edward School, Shimla and the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla. He had completed his M Phil in Defence Studies from the University of Madras. He also held diplomas in Management and Computer studies. He was also awarded a Doctorate of Philosophy(PhD) by the Chaudhary Charan Singh University in Meerut.
In December 2016, General Bipin Rawat took over as the 27th Chief of Army Staff (COAS) succeeding General Dalbir Singh Suhag. He had an illustrious and exemplary career, having superseded two senior officers to occupy the position of the army chief, becoming only the second officer to be appointed to the top post after General AS Vaidya, who had superseded General SK Sinha.
First Chief of Defence Staff(CDS) of India
Then in August 2019, in a landmark military reform, General Bipin Rawat was elevated to the post of Chief of Defence Staff(CDS), a position specifically created by the Centre to improve integration between the three arms of the Indian Armed Forces—The Army, The Navy and The Air Force.
A military officer par excellence, General Bipin Rawat was decorated with various awards for his gallantry and distinguished service with the UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, COAS over the span of his 38 years of service. He was also a part of the US peacekeeping force and was twice awarded the Force Commander’s Commendation while serving the United Nations. The IMA, Dehradun, awarded him the Sword of Honor.

During his service in the Indian Army, he served as a Brigade Commander, Southern Command, General Staff officer Grade 2 at the military operations directorate and held many more positions during his tenure. He commanded forces in difficult terrain such as Kashmir as well as along the Line of Actual Control bordering China. He is widely credited for facilitating better relations between the armies of India and China through regular border meetings, interactions and joint exercises. When he was an Army Chief, General Rawat stood his ground against the expansionist Chinese PLA at Doklam plateau on India-Bhutan-China tri-junction for 73 days in 2017.
The first CDS also played a pivotal role in reducing the armed insurgency that had wracked India’s northeast region, with one of his career highlights being supervising the 2015 cross-border operation into Myanmar in which the Indian Army successfully responded to an ambush by NSCN-K militants. He oversaw the Surgical Strike from the operation command of Dimapur-based III Corps.
Rawat was also a part of planning the September 2016 surgical strike when Indian army personnel carried out an audacious cross-border operation into Pakistan occupied Kashmir and destroyed terror launch-pads that were responsible for infiltrating terrorists responsible for the killing of 18 army officers in Uri earlier that month.
Under the leadership of Rawat, the Indian Army had undertaken some of the most stringent steps to curb the menace of terrorism emanating from Pakistan. It was under his tenure as the Chief of Army Staff that Army provided robust defences along the border with Pakistan when the Indian Air Forces carried out the Balakot strikes in February to avenge the killings of CRPF personnel in the Pulwama attack.
General Rawat has also contributed towards the National Security and Leadership by authoring a slew of academic articles which have been published in various journals and publications.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at various premises of Popular Front of India (PFI) and SDPI in Kerala on December 8 in a money-laundering case. The raids were carried in connection with this Islamic outfit having allegedly received and pumped money to fuel protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act in the country. The protests had resulted in the massive anti-Hindu riots in Delhi.
According to sources, several “incriminating documents” were recovered by the agency during the raids. Raids were carried in Kannur, Muvattupuzha, Malappuram and Idukki in Kerala. The ED officials were provided with the security of paramilitary forces during the raids. Workers of PFI and SDPI staged demonstrations when ED officials were carrying raids at the residence of SDPI leader Shafeek in Kannur. They gathered outside of his residence and shouted slogans against the ED officials.

Similarly, PFI and SDPI activists tried to create trouble when the ED team came to raid the house of PFI leader Razak Kuttikadan at Perumbadappilum near Eramangalam in Malappuram. The protestors had an altercation with the officials and the police.
KM Ashraf is the third important leader of PFI whose house in Ernakulam was raided extensively by ED who is in the centre of the money-laundering probe against PFI.
PFI General Secretary Anis Ahmed claimed their accounts and donations are quite transparent. He alleged that the BJP government can go to any extent to harass the PFI.

The PFI had played a major role in a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. The subsequent probe had revealed that PFI was behind the funding of the violent anti-CAA protests across several parts of the country.
It was alleged that PFI received huge funds through dubious sources and it spent about Rs 120 crores in a month to orchestrate the violent riots in the country. This amount was credited to a total of 73 bank accounts held by PFI, its related entity namely Rehab India foundation and several individuals associated with the PFI.

A terrible tragedy befell India on December 8, 2021, when an Army chopper with senior officials, including the country’s first Chief of Defence Staff(CDS) General Bipin Rawat, crashed near the Coonoor region in Tamil Nadu.
An IAF Mi-17V5 helicopter, frequently used by Indian forces, had crashed near Coonoor earlier today. The chopper was airborne from Sulur to Wellington. 14 persons were on board. However, even when there was no confirmation on the fate of Bipin Rawat, some folks in uniform could not hide their hatred for the nation’s first CDS. At a time when the entire nation was desperately praying for the safety and well being of General Bipin Rawat, there were some retired army men who fell over themselves to declare that General Bipin Rawat was dead. It is noteworthy to mention that retired Col Baljit Bakshi had made no bones about his support to the farmers and had vociferously supported the demonstrations that were hijacked by Khalistani elements as banned organisations such as Sikhs For Justice, along with other groups sympathetic to the Khalistani sentiments such as Khalsa Aid, partook in the protests, mobilising resources and support with the aim to sow discord and engender resentment against the Centre among the people.

These indiscreet utterances by men who donned the uniform and served in the country’s prestigious and honourable armed forces remind one of Shahbeg Singh, an Indian Army officer who later served as a military advisor to Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
Before being initiated in the Khalistani movement, Singh, PVSM, AVSM, served in the Indian Army and was extensively involved in the training of Mukti Bahini volunteers to ward off the threats posed by Pakistan-backed Islamists during the Bangladesh Liberation War. He was dismissed from the army on charges of corruption and denied of his pension just a day before his retirement, for which he sought redress in civil court and was later acquitted.

After his dismissal from the armed forces, he joined the Khalistan movement and served as a military adviser and trainer for the group’s terrorists. According to counter-intelligence reports of the R&AW, the three prominent figures of the Khalistan Army were Major General Shahbeg Singh, Balbier Singh and Amrik Singh.
In December 1983, the Sikh political party Akali Dal’s President Harcharan Singh Longowal had invited Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale to take up residence in Golden Temple Complex. Shahbeg Singh is widely credited for fortifying the defences of the Temple Complex that rendered the possibility of a commando operation on foot impossible.
Shahbeg Singh is also said to have organised the Sikh terrorists present at the Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar in June 1984, the same month when the Indian government launched Operation Blue Star to weed out the menace of Khalistani terrorism once and for all. Singh was killed during the initial stages of the operation, during the firing between Akal Takht and Darshini Deorhi. His body was later found and identified when the operation was over. Despite his betrayal to the country, Singh was cremated according to Sikh rites and with full military honours.
On December 8, Ashlin Mathew, editor of the Congress mouthpiece National Herald, posted a tweet saying ‘Divine Intervention’ and later deleted it. The now-deleted tweet was published after the news of the helicopter crash started to make rounds in which CDS Bipin Rawat and 13 others were travelling. Mathew claimed in a tweet that the deleted tweet had nothing to do with the news of the chopper crash, but a campaign has begun to connect the tweet with the incident.

Around noon today, an IAF Mi 17 V5 helicopter with a crew of 4 members carrying the CDS and 9 other passengers met with a tragic accident near Coonoor, TN.
A total of 14 people were on board the aircraft, and 13 of them perished in the accident. Group Capt Varun Singh SC, Directing Staff at DSSC, is the lone survivor, and he is currently under treatment at Military Hospital, Wellington. He is reportedly being shifted to Bengaluru.

Disturbing visuals emerged from the crashing site where things were up in massive flames. Locals had already launched rescue and relief operations and moved some of the injured to the hospital. Several teams carried out search and rescue operations.
The Indian Air Force has launched an inquiry into the helicopter crash incident.
