Flaunting your caste on your cars as sticker could get you in legal trouble. As reported by Live Hindustan, such vehicles which flaunt caste identity on their cars may be seized if rules are framed. A Maharashtra-based teacher, Harshal Prabhu had reportedly written to PMO wherein he had expressed concerns of increase in casteism by such flaunting of caste on cars.

A lot of vehicles like cars, bikes, tractors and even e-rickshaws show off the caste of the owners like “Jaat”, “Rajput”, “Yadav”, “Mughal”, “Qureshi” etc. Prabhu drew PMO’s attention towards this and said that this destroys the social fabric of our country. This is also against the law, he wrote.

He added how India is still susceptible to caste-based crimes and such flaunting of caste should be banned.

As per the report, upon receiving the complaint, the PMO sent the letter to the Transport Department and asked to do the needful.

Uttar Pradesh transport department has been advised to do the needful as per the rules regarding number plates and stickers on cars.

In June 2019, over 1400 vehicles were penalised for name and caste on number plates amongst others in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

India to become 5th largest economy in the world by 2025, projects UK based think tank

Amidst the economic slump caused due to the outbreak of the Wuhan Coronavirus, India is projected to overtake the United Kingdom to become the fifth-largest economy in the world by 2025. The projections were published by UK-based think tank the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) on Saturday.

It must be mentioned that India had earlier taken over the United Kingdom in 2019 to secure the 5th spot in the list of world economies but then got pushed back to the 6th spot again in 2020. As per reports, it is projected that India is likely to grow by 9% and 7% in 2021 and 2022 respectively and will become the 5th largest economy in 2025 and the 3rd largest by 2030.

“Growth will naturally slow as India becomes more economically developed, with the annual GDP growth expected to sink to 5.8 per cent in 2035. This growth trajectory will see India become the world’s third-largest economy by 2030, overtaking the UK in 2025, Germany in 2027 and Japan in 2030,” the think tank noted.

Indian economy lost momentum prior to Coronavirus outbreak

CEBR, however, noted that the Indian economy has been suffering a slowdown prior to the slump caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. “Slowing growth has been a consequence of a confluence of factors including fragility in the banking system, adjustment to reforms and a deceleration of global trade,” it said. Indian economy grew at a mere 4.2% in 2019, as compared to 6.1% in 2018 and 8.3% in 2016.

The UK think tank observed, “GDP in Q2 (April-June) 2020 was 23.9 percent below its 2019 level, indicating that nearly a quarter of the country’s economic activity was wiped out by the drying up of global demand and the collapse of domestic demand that accompanied the series of strict national lockdowns.”

India better equipped to deal with Coronavirus outbreak

“The pace of the economic recovery will be inextricably linked to the development of the COVID-19 pandemic, both domestically and internationally,” CEBR noted. It is important to note that a key factor in India’s recovery has been the agricultural sector so far due to high productivity. “In the medium to long term, reforms such as the 2016 demonetisation and more recently the controversial efforts to liberalise the agricultural sector can deliver economic benefits,” it added.

India is better equipped than other developing nations to produce vaccines for the Wuhan Coronavirus in 2021 as the country had been successfully running a 42-year-old vaccination programme, targetting 5.5 crore people each year. Although the government stimulus package has been lower than major world economies, CEBR said that investment in infrastructure can lead to significant productivity gains. Therefore, the outlook for the economy going forwards will be closely related to the government’s approach to infrastructure spending,” it added.

‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ in legal trouble: Case filed against Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Alia Bhatt and others for defamatory content

A case has been filed against Sanjay Leela Bhansai, Alia Bhatt and Bhansali Productions for the upcoming movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ which portrays the life of a brothel owner by the same name. Gangubai’s son Babuji Rawji Shah has alleged that the contents of the book on which the movie is based on are defamatory and constitute an infringement on his right to privacy, self-respect and liberty.

The book is based on Hussain Zaidi’s ‘The Mafia Queens of Mumbai’. Shah has also filed a case against the author and reporter Jane Borges whose research constituted the premise of the book. The son has demanded the permanent cessation of the printing and circulation of the book, in addition to the deletion of the chapters on Gangubai Kathiawadi. He has also demanded that the movie be scrapped.

Narendra Dubey, Shah’s lawyer, has claimed that a criminal complaint may also be filed in the coming weeks for ‘defamation, indecent representation of women, and circulation of obscene and indecent material’. The first hearing in the matter was held at the Bombay High Court on Tuesday and the next hearing is slated to occur on the 7th of January.

Dubey told The Print, “Ever since the promo of the film came out, rumours have spread and Shah has been harassed in his own locality. His leg was fractured from being hit. His relatives are also suffering as they are now being known as coming from a ‘prostitute family’.”

Gangubai Kathiawadi was slated to release in September this year but got delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. It is now expected to release sometime next year.

Gita: A wonderful Granth

On the auspicious day of Gita Jayanti, which was on December 25, PM talked about the importance of the book. He said that it is a wonderful Granth because it is the voice of Bhagwan Krishna himself. “The very first mantra of Vedanta is – ‘Athaato Brahm Jigyasa’ that is, come, let us inquire about Brahm. That is why we talk about the inquest of even Brahm, the ultimate creator!” he said. He further added that curiosity constantly inspires you to learn something new. In childhood, we learn only because we are curious. That is, we are alive as long as there is a curiosity in us.

Atmanirbhar Bharat: A journey everyone is committed to take

During his address, Prime Minister talked about Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and how the people of India are enthusiastically participating in it. He mentioned one Abhinav Banerjee from Delhi who wrote to PM telling him about the shopkeepers in Jhandewalan market in Delhi selling high-quality Made-In-India toys and encouraging people to buy Indian products. PM said that the change in the mindset of the buyers that too within a year is remarkable.

He also talked about one Venkat, Murli Prasad from Vishakhapatnam, who sent PM his ABC (Atmanirbhar Bharat Chart) for 2021, in which he explained what he wants to replace with Made-in-India products in the coming year. The list contained everything from appliances, stationery, gadgets and more.

Remembering Chaar Sahibzade

PM while talking about the sacrifice made by four sons of Guru Gobind Singh, Sahibzada Ajit Singh, Jujhar Singh, Jorawar Singh, and Fateh Singh, he mentioned his visit to Gurudwara Rakabganj to offer floral tributes and pay my obeisance to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji who attained martyrdom on November 11, 1675.

PM said, “We are indebted to this martyrdom. Once again I bow to the martyrdom of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Mata Gujari, Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the four Sahibzade. Several such sacrifices have preserved the present fabric of India, keeping it intact.”

The younger sons Baba Jorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh attained martyrdom when they refused to become Muslims, and Wazir Khan ordered to brick them alive. Mata Gujri, Mother of Guru Gobind Singh and wife of Guru Tegh Bahadur, when she heard about what happened to Chote Sahibzade, died of emotional trauma. The two older ones, Baba Ajit Singh and Baba Jujhar Singh fought in the Chamkaur battle, where they attained martyrdom.

The increasing population of leopards

While talking about the population of leopards in India, PM Modi said that it should make everyone proud that the population has risen by 60 percent between 2014 and 2018. The number of leopards was 7.900 in 2014, and in 2019, it was reported to have reached 12,852. He said, “Amongst the states with the maximum population of leopards Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra are topmost in the order. Also, there has been an increase in India’s forest area, the reason for this is that not only the government but also many people, civil society, many institutions too are engaged in conserving our trees and plants and wild animals.”

PM talked about a girl Gayatri from Coimbatore, who made a wheelchair for a suffering dog with the help of her father. “In Delhi NCR and other cities of the country in the chilling cold, many people are doing a lot for the care of shelterless animals.

They arrange for food, water, sweaters and even beds for those animals. Some people arrange food for hundreds of such animals every day. Such efforts should be commended,” he said.

Transforming old temples

During his address, he talked about Yuva Brigade from Karnataka. The organization of youth has transformed an ancient Shiva temple named Veerbhadra Swami in Srirangpatna in Karnataka. They have removed the weeds and shrubs around the temple and repaired the construction. They also arranged an electricity connection for the temple. “. Ayodhya: Students booked for raising ‘azaadi’ slogans during protests against college principal

Students from Saket College in Ayodhya have been booked on charges of sedition after they raised ‘Azaadi’ slogans during a protest. The students claim that they were protesting against the delay in announcing the dates for the students’ union elections.

Former president of Saket College students’ union, Abhas Krishna Yadav, told TOI, “Students were raising ‘azaadi’ slogans as they were seeking freedom from the corrupt principal and anti-student system of the college, and demanding to hold student union elections.”

The sedition case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by the principal of the college. Sumit Tiwari, Shesh Narayan Pandey, Imran Hashmi, Satvik Pandey, Mohit Yadav and Manoj Mishra have been booked under Sections 124 A (sedition), 147 (rioting), 188 (disobedience to order), 332 (causing hurt to deter public servant from duty), 342 (wrongfully confinement), 353 (assault on public servant), 427 (causing damage to property), 435 (mischief by fire or explosive substance) and 506 (offence of criminal intimidation) of the IPC.

The principal told reporters that the students “were raising slogans of ‘azaadi’, they wanted to take azaadi by revolt and by violence, by burning the country. It was my duty to protect the motherland, therefore, I have filed the complaint against them.”

Despite uncertainty over land acquisition in Maharashtra for the bullet train project, Railways have said that all efforts are being made to complete it in one phase. While addressing media over video conferencing on December 26, Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman of Railway Board, said that Indian Railways is making efforts to commission the entire bullet train project end-to-end. He said, “Indian Railways wants to commission the bullet train project together in both Gujarat and Maharashtra, and we have planned accordingly.”

However, if the land acquisition is not completed in Maharashtra soon, the project may be completed in two phases. Accordingly, it has been suggested that the first project will be completed from Ahmedabad to Vapi, which will mean the entire first phase of the project will be in Gujarat, where land acquisition is going on smoothly. “If we get the land, then the project can be commissioned in both Gujarat and Maharashtra. We are also preparing whether we can run bullet train till Vapi (Gujarat) in the first phase if there is a delay in land acquisition in Maharashtra,” Vinod Kumar Yadav said.

More than 80% of the land acquisition has been done in Gujarat. However, the project is being delayed as it is taking time to acquire land in Maharashtra. Yadav further said that the Maharashtra government has assured that they will make more efforts to ensure 80 percent of the land required for the project is made available in the next four months.

Tenders are invited only when 80-90 percent of the land is available

Vinod said that Indian Railways invites tenders in any project only when 80 to 90 percent of the land required for the project is under their control. Also, it is essential that for the remaining 10 to 20 percent of the land, there is certainty that it will be acquired on time so that when the project starts, it does not get halted due to land unavailability.

Bullet train project

Bullet train in India was first talked about in 2009-2010 under UPA-2. However, it took several years to complete the study required. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor project was approved in May 2014. The project will use Shinkansen technology of Japan, which will be transferred to support the Make in India programme as per the Indian Railway’s announcement in December 2015. The project was expected to be completed by 2023, but due to a delay in acquiring the land, the project has been pushed to be completed by December 2028.

China sending a senior political leader to Nepal to access ground situation amidst political chaos in Nepal Communist Party

Nepal is facing political chaos that has alarmed China’s Communist Party. Beijing is sending a senior political leader to Kathmandu to assess the ground situation in the country. As per the reports, a vice-minister of the Chinese Communist Party will soon visit Nepal.

According to the Kathmandu Post, two Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leaders have confirmed that Guo Yezhou, vice-minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, will reach Kathmandu on Sunday for a four-day visit. He will meet senior leaders of both the groups of NCP. Bishnu Rijal, Deputy Head of Department of Foreign Affairs of the NCP (Dahal-Nepal faction), confirmed Guo’s visit to Nepal, but he did not provide any further details.

The Lower House of Nepal’s parliament was dissolved by Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari on the recommendation of Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli. After the dissolution, 12 petitions were filed in the apex court of Nepal, marking it as unconstitutional. Former Prime Minister of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, was one of the petitioners who filed the plea in court on Tuesday. Oli has proposed elections on April 30 and May 10, 2021, which will be almost two years ahead of schedule.

After the dissolution of the parliament, seven Cabinet Ministers submitted their resignations, which were accepted by the President. There has been immense pressure on Oli from the rival faction of NCP, led by former prime minister Hagal and Madhav Nepal.

China’s senior Ambassador Hou Yanqi’s attempts to pacify the situation in May

Kathmandu Post mentioned that India approached Nepal after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and US Defence Chief Mark Esper visited Nepal, aiming at “strengthening strategic ties in the face of growing Chinese influence in the region.”

After Harsh Vardhan Shringla’s visit, China sent its Defence Minister Wei Fenghe to Nepal on November 29. An advance team from China was already discussing the situation with the Nepal Communist Party. India’s influence in the country has worried China, which is resulting in the dragon’s larger interest in the country.

Sundar Nath Bhattarai, chairman of China Study Center, was quoted by The Kathmandu Post saying, “The Chinese are concerned about the Nepal Communist Party, chances of party unity in the future. Any changes or political turmoil can easily be cause for concern for Being as it has its own security interests.”

Former ambassador Bhattarai said that though China does not interfere in Nepal’s political situation to a level of micro management as India does, the political situation in the country and India’s interest in resuming relationships with Nepal has worried China. “They were against this split. They thought there would be some give and take between the Nepal Communist Party leadership but that did not happen. So they must be unhappy,” he said.

Actor Sushant Singh continues to share fake news, this time lies about the release of suspended cop DSP Davinder Singh

Former actor Sushant Singh, who has lately been forefront at spreading misinformation on social media platforms, on Sunday was yet again caught sharing fake news pertaining to the release of suspended police cop Davinder Singh, who was arrested last year for his alleged ties with the terrorists.

Taking to Twitter, Sushant Singh claimed that suspended police cop Davinder Singh was released from the jail because of the lack of charge sheet filed in the case. He added that the whereabouts of Singh were not known after he was ‘released’. The former actor said that DSP Davinder Singh was caught red-handed in his car carrying the terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir to Delhi.

He continued, however, NIA could not file charge sheet, leading to Singh getting bail in three months. He asked whether anyone knew or any channel called him Khalistani after his alleged release from the jail. Taking potshots at the government and its supporters, Sushant said that people have forgotten him just like alleged China’s intrusion.

In his hurry to target the Modi government and country’s investigative agencies for taking action alleged terror sympathisers, Sushant Singh openly peddled false propaganda by conveniently ignoring the details of the case registered against suspended cop Davinder Singh.

Similar such claims were made by other Twitter users.

Fact-Check

It is important to note that the Court granted bail to Davinder Singh and lawyer Irfan Shafi Mir in connection with the case filed against them by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police in June this year. The bail was granted after the court noted that the charge-sheet was not filed even after the mandatory statutory period of 90 days had passed. The accused had to furnish a personal bond of Rs. 1 lakh each with two sureties of each amount.

The IO in the case submitted a status report before the court and said, “investigation in the instant case has not been concluded yet, hence charge sheet has not been filed.” 

Most importantly, the bail was granted by the court only in the case filed by the Delhi Police. There is a separate case that was registered against him by the National Investigation Agency in which he has not been granted bail and thus, he has not walked out of jail.

Davinder Singh, though has secured bail in a case filed by Delhi Police, has remained incarcerated because of a separate case filed against him by the National Investigation Agency. Hence, he did not ‘walking out of jail’ as claimed by Sushant Singh. And to answer his question about his whereabouts, Singh is currently in NIA custody.

However, the usual suspects are now trying to cast aspersions on the government to claim that the disgraced cop is walking free. However, it is not true as bail was awarded to Davinder Singh in a separate case and he will continue to remain in judicial custody in the NIA Case. The NIA has time and again assured that they have sufficient evidence against him and he will be charge-sheeted in due course.

Davinder Singh was arrested along with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen terrorists Naveed Babu and Asif Rather on the 11th of January when they were travelling together in a car. Later, it was reported that he was on the payroll of the Islamic terrorist organisation. Subsequently, his case was handed over to the NIA. The NIA had taken over the case on the 18th of January.

Sushant Singh caught spreading fake news pertaining to ‘farmers’ protest

Amidst the ongoing ‘farmer’ protests against the farm reforms that have been hijacked by pro-Khalistani, far-left and various political parties to further their agenda against the Modi government, several social media users sympathetic to the alleged farmers have been resorting to spreading fake news, images on the internet to garner support to the protests which have already caused massive inconvenience to the public.

Similarly, actor Sushant Singh and a few other Congress trolls took to social media to share an image of a deceased elder person. According to their claim, the elderly farmer was one of the protestors camping along the Haryana-Delhi border and he passed away during the protests against the Modi government.

Actor Sushant Singh, sharing a post of another social media user, who had himself falsely claimed that it was painful for him to share the news of a farmer passing away during the protests against the three farm laws.

However, the image shared by assorted trolls associated with the alleged ‘farmer protests’, the farmer’s associations and actors have nothing to do with the ongoing protests against the Modi government. The image was first shared on Facebook page ‘Gareeb jatt’ in September 2018.

Despite multiple people pointing out, Sushant Singh has not removed his fake news regarding Davinder Singh.

Delhi: Maulana kidnaps and rapes a minor girl with intention to ‘sell her’, arrested

A 16-year-old minor girl from Samaypur Badli in New Delhi was kidnapped by one Naushad earlier this month. She was rescued by Delhi Police after extensive surveillance of the accused. 45-year old Naushand is a maulana by profession and used to teach at a madarsa earlier.

Girl’s mother accused 45-year-old neighbour of kidnapping

As per statement released by Delhi Police, the girl’s mother, Zarina, in her complaint, said that her daughter was missing from home since 3 PM on December 19. She alleged that a person Naushad, who lives in the same locality, kidnapped her daughter. The Delhi police registered a case under Section 363 (Kidnapping) based on the complaint and started the investigation.

A dedicated team of SHO/SP Ashish Kumar, ASI Seema Dhaka, SI Upender, CT Jitender, Constable Lalita and Constable Ravi was formed for the investigation. The family of the girl was questioned by the police, followed by a raid on the house of Naushad, but he was nowhere to be found. His whereabouts were unknown to his family members. When ASI Dhaka questioned the wife of the accused, it was revealed that he left the house on December 19 at around 1 PM. Naushad’s phone was then put on surveillance, and police started checking the CCTV cameras in the area.

Naushad was nabbed in Seelampur, Delhi

Naushad’s phone location was traced in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, after which a raiding party was routed to his location. While the team was headed to Baddi, they learned that he was en-route Delhi. When he reached Delhi, he was trailed with the help of technical surveillance and arrested after a brief stint. He has immediately arrested a case was filed under Sections 363 (Kidnapping), 376 (Rape), 34 (Criminal act by several persons) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of POCSO Act.

During the interrogation, police found out that Naushad is a habitual criminal, and he was involved in over cases of kidnapping and human trafficking as informed by the Hardoi police. However, none of the cases were ever reported. Further investigation is underway.

Maulana Naushad’s modus operandi

As per the Delhi police, the accused is 45-years-old and Maulana by profession. While teaching in Madarsa, he used to keep an eye on minor girls of poor background. He would target these girls, befriend them and then take them in confidence. After kidnapping them, he would sexually exploit them and then sell them in Delhi or Himachal Pradesh. He was initially married in 2010 in Lucknow but divorced his wife after a year.

Between 2011 and 2017, he had lured and duped several girls. In 2018 he kidnapped another girl in the Hardoi area and married her. He then started living in Delhi. He was trying to sell the kidnapped girl in Himachal Pradesh but could not succeed as police had started tracing him. Madhya Pradesh: Employer kills worker by pumping air into his rectum by inserting compressor for asking about wages

A 40-year-old employee died after his employer allegedly pumped air into his rectum by inserting a compressor after a dispute erupted between the two over wages, reports Times of India.

According to the reports, the deceased has been identified as Permanand Dhakad, resident of Gazigad Dhoria village in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh. Dhakad used to work as a daily wage labourer at a stone crusher in Bhopal.

The deceased approached his empoyer identified as Rajesh Rai for wages on December 8. Rai allegedly thrashed Dhakad and later, three other employees – Pintu, Ravi and Pappu Khan joined him in attacking Dhakad. Shockingly, Rai pumped air into his rectum by inserting a compressor.

Dhakad’s condition worsened after the inhuman act by his employer. They immediately took him to a private hospital in Gwalior without informing his family members. As doctors could not revive his condition, they brought him back and got him admitted at district hospital.

After thrashing Dhakad, employer lied to family

They informed the family members that he was suffering from some gastric problems. However, Dhakad fortunately gained consciousness after 48 hours and narrated the shocking ordeal. The family members went to local police station and lodged a complaint.

Dhakad’s brother has named crusher owner Rajesh Rai as main accused. He also alleged that local mediapersons that Rajesh, his foreman Ravi, Pintu and Pappu Khan were also involved in the incident.

Shivpuri superintendent of police Rajesh Singh Chandel said that they are awaiting the post-mortem report of the deceased labourer for initiating further action.
