“We are committed to providing them employment opportunities within the state as well as social security,” CM Yogi Adityanath tweeted.

He further informed that the migrants will be provided insurance at state level and create job security so that they do not have to leave their homes to seek employment elsewhere. As reported by news agency ANI, Yogi Adityanath further said that if any state wants manpower, they cannot take them without permission of the government as there were reports of misbehaviour with them in other states. He further said that skill mapping is being carried out in the state to ensure employment.

Railway Minister refutes ‘insufficient train’ claim of Maharashtra, says state govt not providing passenger details, already 65 trains cancelled due to non-cooperation

Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has said that the Maharashtra government is yet to submit any detail of Shramik Special trains which are scheduled to run from Maharashtra tomorrow. In a series of tweets, the minister said that the Railways is ready to run 125 trains from Maharashtra tomorrow, but the state govt is yet to submit required details despite his public appeal for the same on Twitter. Piyush Goyal revealed the same after the Uddhav Thackeray govt in Maharashtra had claimed that they are not getting sufficient trains to send back migrant workers to their native states.

The Railways have also confirmed that they had to cancel as many as 65 scheduled trains from Maharashtra due to lack of registered passengers.

At 7:14 PM today, Piyush Goyal tweeted that they are ready to run 125 trains tomorrow from the state, and requested the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to furnish necessary details like from where the trains will run, the destination of the trains, list of the passengers as per trains and their medical certificate. He requested the required information to be submitted within the next one hour with the General Manager of the Central Railways, so that the trains can planned on time.

He said he hoped that like in the past, trains don’t have to run empty after reaching the stations. ‘I assure you that as many trains you need will be made available’, the railway minister tweeted to the CM.

After one hour, Piyush Goyal tweeted that he had learnt from TV Maharashtra govt has claimed that they have given a list of 200 trains to the Indian Railways. But the GM of the Central Railway has not received any list of even a single train to be run tomorrow despite follow up, he informed. Goyal requested Maharashtra govt to provide the list as soon as possible.

After more than one and a half hours at around 9 PM, the railway minister against tweeted to inform that Maharashtra government has not submitted the list of the 125 trains for tomorrow. He said that it takes time to plan trains and they don’t want empty trains standing on the stations, so it is impossible to plan without full details.

“I hope that the Government of Maharashtra will fully cooperate in the efforts made for the benefit of migrant labourers,” Piyush Goyal posted a further tweet hoping that the Maharashtra govt will cooperate by providing the required details.

After the tweets of Piyush Goyal, the Central Railway issued a statement regarding Shramik special trains run from Maharashtra. They informed that so far 520 such trains have been operated from the state on the request of nodal officers of the state. They also revealed that 65 trains scheduled to run from Maharashtra were cancelled as the state govt failed to submit necessary details. They further added that several Shramik special trains from Maharashtra ran with less number of passengers than capacity. The statement notes that there are not much demand for running Shramik trains from several districts in the state.

The Central Railway confirmed that demands of nodal officers of Maharashtra for trains have been met on a day to day basis, thereby refuting the claim of the state govt that they are not getting adequate trains. They informed that they have been directed to run 125 trains tomorrow, and they were waiting for two hours for the list of passengers with their destinations.

The Maharashtra govt yesterday had claimed that while they have demanding daily 70 trains to send migrants back to their states, they are getting only 45-50 trains per day. They had said that need around 200 more trains to send the migrants back to their states, as the government wants to send them back before the ongoing lockdown ends on May 31.

Political storm brews over the suicide of Rajasthan cop alleging pressure, colleagues blame athlete turned Congress MLA Krishna Poonia

Rajasthan police have registered an abetment of suicide case against unknown people after Rajgarh Police Station’s SHO Vishnu Dutt Vishnoi committed suicide by hanging himself on Saturday. Vishnoi left a suicide note, where he said that he was under tremendous pressure which he could not handle. Now politics have heated on the issue, as it is alleged that a Congress leader is responsible for the pressure that the police officer was facing.

It has been alleged that the SHO was under pressure from Congress MLA Krishna Poonia, which led to his suicide.

As per reports, Vishnu Dutt Vishnoi was probing a murder case, for which he had to go to the police station at 3AM in the night on Saturday. After that, he went to his quarter in the police station compound to sleep. But when he didn’t come out till 9AM in the morning, people started doubting that something was wrong. His cook informed the police station about it. When police arrived at the quarter, they broke open the door and found Vishnoi hanging inside.

They also found two suicide notes. One was addressed to the SP of the Churu district, while the other was for his parents. In the suicide note to the SP, he wrote that he was under such pressure that he could not cope with that. He wrote that he tried to give his best to Rajasthan Police and he was not a coward, but he could not bear the stress anymore. However, he didn’t name anyone for the pressure he was facing in his note.

The suicide note to SP

On the basis of the suicide note and allegations of family members and staff in the police station that Vishnoi was under pressure, a case under section 306 of IPC (abetment to suicide) was registered at the Rajgarh Police Station.

Earlier Vishnoi had also sent messages to his lawyer friend Govardhan Singh on WhatsApp saying that he has been trapped in the whirlpool of dirty politics. In that message, he also said that he wanted to take voluntary retirement and was going to submit application for the same. When his friend asked him not to do so, he replied that it is very dirty politics and the officers are weak. He wrote that he is being accused of embezzlement of Rs 3.5 crore in the construction of the police station building.

Vishnoi’s colleagues have also confirmed that they were under pressure from the Congress MLA. They have written a letter to Inspector General of Bikaner range Jose Mohan, requesting him to transfer them to some other place due to the “pressure” created by Congress MLA Krishna Poonia. They allege that she keeps lodging unnecessary complaints against them with senior police officials.

The staff also cited earlier incidents where policemen were penalised due to such complaints. Poonia is a former Olympian and a first time MLA.

The letter written by staff of the police station

Once these things came out, it created a political storm in the state as opposition leaders have started raising the issue. BJP MLA and opposition leader Rajendra Rathore staged a protest against Poonia. Former BSP MLA Manoj Nangyal also sat on dharma separately and demanded CBI probe into the case. The protestors didn’t even allow the body to take away.

MP Rahul Kaswa and several other leaders have accused that if a police officer with such clean record killed himself, he must be facing political pressure.

RLP MP from Nagaur Hanuman Beniwal demanded a CBI inquiry in the suicide of Vishnu Vishnoi. He said, “This incident raised questions on the entire system. The home department is with the chief minister and so it is impossible for the common man to approach him. He should stop holding to the department.”

BJP state chief Satish Poonia said, “Allegations about political pressure on policemen are substantiated by the tragic death of Vishnu Vishnoi. He was a dynamic officer and there should be a proper inquiry. Krishna Poonia should have done better than being in such a position. She has the patronage of the chief minister.”

While Krishna Poonia said that she had met Vishnoi 5-7 times only in official meetings. She said that she had heard about the cop, but never met him alone.

Vishnoi’s friend lawyer Govardhan Singh, who received the messages from Vishnoi, said that had he immediately rushed to Rajgarh after receiving the message, perhaps this incident would not have happened. Singh said that he will never be able to forgive himself. He said that although it looks like a suicide, it is a well-thought murder, and it should be probed by CBI.

Vishnoi was in Rajasthan police for 21 years and he was popular among senior officers also. He was popular in his department and among general public for his work and honesty.

DGP Bhupendra Singh has said that according to him, Vishnudutt was among the top 10 SHOs of the state. He said that it is common for policemen to have political, social and criminal pressure, which starts as soon as they join the force. He said that senior officials from all the areas used to recommend that Vishnu Dutt should be posted in their area to control crime.

According to  a report by Dainik Bhaskar, Vishnoi was an officer whose posting used to happen on public demand. When he was transferred, people from used to agitate against it.

Vishnudatta was posted in Rajgarh of Churu  due to rising incidents of crime. DGP Bhupendra Singh says that he did a good job there, but the circumstances that preceded the suicide, is a matter of investigation. He said that Vishnu Dutt Vishnoi was among such officers, who always worked honestly. He said that during any investigation, both sides try tricks to create pressure and the police face challenges to take fair action.

In the meanwhile, Superintendent of Police, Churu Tejaswini Gautam has said that she is talking to the staff of Rajgarh Police Station to ascertain the facts. Regarding the letter written by Vishnoi’s colleagues, she informed that some have said it was an emotional decision to sign the letter.

She assured that the district administration will refer the matter to the state govt for a judicial inquiry, and a family member will be given a govt job on compassionate grounds, even though the cause of the death was suicide.

Notorious crime group Lawrence Vishnoi Gang’s name has also emerged in the suicide case, as the murder case that Vishnu Dutt was probing was connected to this gang.

Heads I win, Tails you lose: Uddhav Thackeray and his Govt sound clueless with contradictory statements on Coronavirus lockdown and travel

Maharashtra as a state is the top contributor to National Coronavirus cases. As of Saturday, the Maharashtra count for Coronavirus positive cases had already crossed the 47,000 mark. As a state, Maharashtra is contributing almost 50% of the nation’s total Coronavirus cases. As expected, the Chief Minister of the State, Uddhav Thackeray, is being criticised widely for his handling of the situation. While Shiv Sena’s PR strategy is extensive, roping in Bollywood celebrities and even journalists to sing songs praising the CM, the reality does weigh down on the political dispensation from time to time.

Uddhav Thackeray today released a video message for the people of his state. In that video, one of the things he said was “We can’t say that the lockdown will be over by May 31. We will have to see how we will go forward. The coming time is crucial as the multiplication of virus is picking up”.

As per this statement, it would seem like Uddhav Thackeray is agreeing that the lockdown has merits and is perhaps one of the only ways to arrest the Coronavirus pandemic, especially in a state like Maharashtra, that has been out of control for a long time as far as this pandemic is concerned.

But then, Uddhav Thackeray says something completely different and bizarre. He says, “It was wrong to impose the lockdown suddenly. It will be equally wrong to lift it in one go. It will be a double whammy for our own people”.

After saying that he might not be lifting the lockdown because there is a severe multiplication of virus, Uddhav Thackeray suddenly said that the sudden imposition of lockdown was a bad decision in itself. Further, after saying the imposition was incorrect, he backs it up by saying that it will be equally detrimental if the lockdown is lifted completely.

This is a classic ‘Heads I win, Tails you lose’ situation where Uddhav Thackeray is saying that the lockdown is needed in Maharashtra because it has spiralled out of control but at the same time, mouthing mandatory criticism to play petty politics in complete contradiction to his previous statements.

The Chief Minister, his party and his allies’ confusion doesn’t seem to end there. Uddhav Thackeray in his address to his people said that he needs more time to start domestic travel. It is pertinent to note that the central government is all set to start domestic travel soon. Further, the Home Minister of the State, who belongs to NCP also said that it was a bad idea to start domestic air travel to Maharashtra.

However, soon after these tall statements, NCP’s Nawab Malik, who is also a Minister in Maharashtra went on record to state that Maharashtra will actually allow 25 flights to land in Maharashtra on Monday.

Maharashtra, which has survived so far on PR stunts and media control seems to be spiralling out of control. The state was mismanaged up until now as far as tackling the Coronavirus pandemic was concerned with the highest number of Coronavirus positive cases from the state, but now, even their public perception seems to be going for a toss with rambling statements first, contradictory statements next.

“Eunuchs”, “stupids”: Abdul Rahman Ilyas who claims to have worked with Andhra Pradesh govt abuses Hindus, celebrates their hounding in Islamic countries

The dangerous Hinduphobic agenda pushed by Islamic countries, especially in the Gulf, seems to be now resonating within the Indian society as influential Muslims in the country are now increasingly advancing a similar narrative to target Hindus for their alleged ‘Islamophobia’.

Abdul Rahman Ilyas – an Advisor to the government of Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday, took to social media to peddle a similar anti-Hindu narrative by claiming that Hindus living in other nations are inherent ‘Islamophobes’, who do not have an understanding about Islam and Muslims.

Citing a report published by ‘The Print’ which had claimed of Canada joining a list of Arab countries to call out the ‘Islamophobic’ attitude of Indians living their country, Abdul Ilyas through his Facebook post asked these countries to nail down these residents at their location and teach them a good lesson.

Calling Hindus as ‘Eunuchs’ and ‘stupids’, the advisor to Andhra Pradesh government expressed happiness over many countries are joining to call out the alleged anti-Muslim mindset of the Indians living in their countries.

Ilyas also said that he has been witnessing increasing Islamophobia since 2015, in which Hindus are self perceiving notions about Muslims and Islam.

“99% is perceived lies they believe is true and start hurling abuses. Some terms which the self proclaimed Hindus don’t even understand keep using as expert interpreters – kafir, halala, Ghazwaehind pig, Mohammed and various sexual verbatims,” said Ilyas while attempting to pin the blame Hindus for deliberately misunderstanding Islam, as a reason to push their anti-Muslim agenda.

Ilyas added that the fellow citizens have forgotten to respect each other and still jump for a majoritarian illusion in other countries. He added that the lesson learnt from these incidents is above the national shame, implying that he did not mind people losing their job in other countries over their alleged Islamophobic statements.

“Kick them hard,” Abdul Rahman Ilyas said in his Facebook post.

Rise in specific targetting of Indians, especially Hindus in Gulf countries

There has been rising propaganda against India from a section of Muslims in gulf countries, who have joined hands with the Pakistanis, to spew venom against India. The troll accounts from the Arab world have cast aspersion on the country’s pluralistic credentials and have been propagating a false narrative asserting that Muslims in India were not treated respectfully.

Fake handles have been created across social media platforms to raise the bogey of ‘Islamophobia’, which was then used to target specific individuals to accuse them as anti-Muslim. Such anti-India propaganda has been on a rise lately, especially in Gulf countries, who are now using at as leverage to attack the pluralistic Indian society to claim that Hindus are inherent ‘Islamophobes’.

Indian Muslims turning against NRIs

The case of Indians targeting fellow Indian expatriates is not a new phenomenon. The Islamists, joined by few left-liberals in the country are targetting these Indians residents for their open support for Prime Minister Modi.

Following the outbreak of coronavirus in the country, the targetting has been on a rise, which was evident with the fact that various Islamic organisations based in the country used their links with leading businessmen and religious leaders to influence the Arabs to target indivduals for their political views.

The Indians living in Gulf were also targetted by a section of Muslims in the Gulf, backed by the ISI, who resorted to pretending to be Arabs on social media to complain against these individuals by claiming they were ‘Islamophobes’.

These anti-India propagandists, joined by Pakistani-based social media handles have fed fake narratives against India, which were then brazened out by media platforms based out of Gulf countries like GulfNews, Al Jazeera, Khaleej Times, to spread anti-India propaganda.
