Congress raised the bogey of Hindu Terror on the directions of former Union Minister P Chidambaram: Piyush Goyal on Rakesh Maria’s explosive revelations

Reacting to the stunning revelations made by Ex Mumbai top cop Rakesh Maria in his latest book, in which he claimed that 26/11 Mumbai attack terrorist Ajmal Kasab had an ID with Hindu name on it, Union Minister Piyush Goyal slammed the Congress party saying a deeper conspiracy was hatched by them to malign Hindus.

The Railway Minister also expressed astonishment as to how such as important fact about the Mumbai terror attack was not revealed during the time Rakesh Maria was at the helm of the affairs in Mumbai Police.

“Why did Mr Maria disclose all these details now? He should have said these things when he was the Police Commissioner. According to the service rules, if a senior police official is in possession of critical information, he should have taken action over it,” Goyal said.

“According to me, Congress party tried to hatch a deeper conspiracy, full of deceit and lies, to raise the bogey of Hindu terror on the direction of former Union Minister P Chidambaram. I condemn in strongest terms the Congress party and everyone who tried to deceive the entire country. They had to pay for their misdeeds in 2014 and 2019 when the people of the country rejected them. In my understanding, terror has no religion, a terrorist is a terrorist. Those who fabricated false allegations to implicate people by the Congress party, my government unequivocally condemns it,” Goyal added.

In a tell-all book ‘Let Me Say It Now’ authored by the former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria, the Ex Mumbai top has revealed that 26/11 Mumbai terror attack terrorist Ajmal Kasab had an ID with Hindu name on it. The ID found on Kasab had his name as “Samir Chaudhary”. 10 terrorists trained by Pakistan’s ISI and Lashkar-e-Toiba had entered Mumbai through sea route and held the city hostage between 26 to 28 November, 2008. Maria was on the control room duty on the day 10 Pakistani terrorists wrecked havoc in Mumbai. Congress’ Shivraj Patil was the Home Minister when the attack took place. 4 days after the attack, Congress’ P Chidambaram took over as India’s Home Minister.

Sharjeel Imam, columnist at The Wire, named as instigator of Jamia violence by Delhi Police, sent to 14-day judicial custody

The Delhi police filed a charge sheet in court against Islamist Sharjeel Imam for instigating violence during the Anti-CAA protests at New Friends Colony near Jamia Millia Islamia  University on December 15, 2019. On Tuesday, the Court sent the accused to 14 days in judicial custody, till March 3.

As per reports, the police have attached CCTV footage, call detail records and statements of over 100 witnesses as evidence in the charge sheet that was submitted before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Gurmohina Kaur.

On Monday, the Islamist was handed over to the Delhi police on 1-day custody. The Delhi police have reportedly mentioned Imam as an ‘instigator’ of the violent protests that had erupted on December 15. One of the Jamia Nagar violence accused, Furkhan, has reportedly claimed that he was provoked by Imam’s speeches.

It is notable here that the UP police also is seeking a transit remand for Imam. He is also wanted on charges of sedition, violence instigation and other offences by the UP police.

Four public buses and two police vehicles were set ablaze during the violent protests of December 15. DCP (Southeast) Chinmay Biswal had claimed that around 1500 demonstrators blocked the road and did not listen to the people who urged them to clear the road.

Eventually, the cops had to resort to lathi-charge and tear gas shells to pacify the mob. The clash left 60 people injured including students, police, and firefighters. Sharjeel Imam has been charged giving provocative speeches that ultimately culminated in the violence.

The cops have pressed charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) – 147 (punishment for rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with a deadly weapon),149 (unlawful assembly), 186 (obstructing public servant), 307 (attempt to murder), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant),  353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant), and 427 (mischief causing damage).

Sharjeel Imam, known for being a rabid Islamist, wanted to severe the ‘chicken’s neck’ and separate Assam and North East from India. The Delhi police had also reportedly found foreign funding links in his bank accounts.

Caste based reservations should continue till caste based discrimination is there: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat

At an event in Delhi on Tuesday, RSS Sarsanghchalak talked about various issues like need to build a pro-India narrative and about issues facing the Hindu community. He also answered questions about internal issues of the community, including the issue of caste.

“These days I’m wary that anything I say will be misquoted, but I will say what Sangh has always believed in,” Mohan Bhagwat started when responding to a question that sought to know RSS take on caste based reservations.

Recently Mohan Bhagwat’s statement on increasing divorce rates was twisted by the mainstream media. While Bhagwat was trying to explain that the arrogance in the affluent people as leading cause of divorce, many twisted it to portray that he ‘blamed educated women’ for the same.

Back in September 2015 Mohan Bhagwat had issued a statement calling for a re-look at the existing reservation policy. This statement, even though asking for a re-look and not a ban, and made by someone who isn’t directly associated with the government, was blown out of proportions and was considered one of the key factors for which the BJP might have had to pay dearly in the Bihar assembly elections. This was also pointed out in a post analyzing the BJP’s defeat wherein it was pointed out how the RJD-JDU alliance was successful in conveying to Dalits that BJP was against reservations, and it ultimately cost BJP Dalit votes.

Sangh doesn’t believe in caste, but caste is a reality that we can’t ignore. “We believe that caste based reservations should continue till caste based discrimination is there,” the RSS chief said. “If anyone wants to debate how long reservations should continue, an apolitical group can be formed to discuss such ideas, but Sangh will work towards ending caste feud and caste differences among Hindus. Our agenda is to unite Hindus and not divide them by caste. We believe that reservations should not become reasons of Hindus attacking each other,” he added.

Recently, the RSS had come up with an action plan to smooth over caste fault lines. Top Sangh brass brainstormed upon ways to combat the growing unrest among Dalits and decided to reach out to the Dalits and stop the caste fault lines from widening. RSS during this process has also held meetings with Dalit representatives to drive home the point about Hindu unity.

Mohan Bhagwat was speaking at a gathering of columnists and writers in Delhi. Among other issues discussed at the event were the misconception of RSS being anti-Muslim or anti-Minorities and need to reach out to young urban audiences. He reiterated that RSS considers those Muslims who celebrate their cultural history, which is common with Hindus, as part of their family.

The incident, according to Dr Aditi Kashyap, happened near a petrol pump at Koldiha village in Giridih when she was travelling from Ranchi to Deoghar.

Kashyap said that they were stuck in a traffic jam at Bada Pool near Dumri after two trucks had met with an accident. With assistance from a few others, they had managed to get out of it. In the process, the had to overtake a Scorpio and a Baleno. But then, the Scorpio began chasing them.

Aditi Kashyap’s statement on the matter (Source: Twitter)

The driver of her car reportedly wanted to avoid a confrontation as the lady was travelling alone with whim and the area was not safe. The people in the Scorpio wanted them to stop and they made their opinions clear when Kashyap’s driver tried to give them a pass. The Scorpio’s driver drew level with them instead of going past them and the people asked the driver why wasn’t he stopping the car. The driver’s intention was to reach Giridih city and then sort out the matter with whoever was driving the Scorpio.

When they reached the petrol pump at Koldiha village, Kashyap allegedly asked her driver to let the Scorpio pass. However, the Scorpio proceeded to overtake them and then blocked their path. Then, according to Kashyap, approximately twelve or thirteen men got off the Scorpio with AK-47 guns in their hands. The men were apparently in civil dress.

The men, as per Kashyap, then proceeded to bang their vehicle’s door and even broke the handle on the driver’s side. Kashyap got out from her car and following her, so did the driver. As soon as the driver got out, she says, the men started thrashing him with the butt of their guns. When she inquired why were they beating her driver, they pushed her aside, misbehaved with her and told her to shut up. In the end, she shouted that her uncle was in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and called him up. Seeing her call her uncle, the men immediately got into their car and drove off.

Muslim attempt to teach Sanatan Dharma to Sanatanis falls flat, Ayodhya admin says no Kabristan in Ram Janmabhoomi land

0

The Ayodhya District administration on Tuesday clarified that there is no Graveyard in the 67-acre land surrounding the Ram Janmabhoomi site which is allotted to construct Ram Mandir.

As per a Hindustan Times report, The statement came in response to a letter written on 15 February by Supreme Court lawyer MR Shamshad to the Board of Trustees of the newly formed Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra. Citing the names of 9 Muslim residents of Ayodhya, the letter had allegedly asked the trust board to vacate a 4-5 acre area within the allocated land as it had contained a ‘Muslim graveyard’.

District Magistrate Anuj Jha said, “At present, there’s no graveyard in the 67-acre site of Ram Janmabhoomi.”

Saying that the issue is already discussed earlier the SC’s final judgement, DM Anuj Jha said, “The Supreme Court was apprised of all facts during the hearing of the Ayodhya title dispute case, including the claims of a graveyard. In the Supreme Court’s judgment dated November 9, 2019, all these details are also clearly mentioned.”

“It was after the Supreme Court’s order that the 67-acre land was transferred to the Centre. No graveyard exists at the Ram Janmabhoomi, We are following the Supreme Court’s order,” he added.

It is notable here that the Muslims individuals had also tried to guilt-trip the Hindu parties by claiming that building a temple at Lord Ram’s birthplace will be the violation of ‘Sanatan Dharma’, spectacularly ignoring the irony of their argument.

The supreme court had on 9 November 2019, delivered the much-awaited judgement of Ayodhya Dispute in favour of Ram Lalla Virajman awarding the entire 67-acre land to Ram Janmabhoomi with an order to set up a Trust within three months of the verdict for the construction of a Ram Temple.

The court had also ordered the government to allocate a 5-acre land to the Muslim parties for the construction of a Mosque.

Iqbal Ansari, who is the main litigant in the Ayodhya case, along with some of the Muslim litigants had demanded five-acre land within the 67-acre land within the campus of RamJanmabhoomi alleging that it has the graveyards and Dargahs are present within the Campus. The Ayodhya District Administration refuted the claims earlier on Tuesday.

After the trust for Ram Janmabhoomi was setup the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet had also approved 5 acre land for Sunni Waqf Board for there purpose of Construction of mosque and other religious activities as claimed by the Sunni Waqf Board while setting up their own Board of Trust.

The Board of Trustees of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra will hold its first meeting in New Delhi on February 19 at the resident of Senior Lawyer K Parasaran.

Expelled JDU leader Prashant Kishor attacks Bihar CM Nitish Kumar in ‘Bihar Ki Baat’ campaign, JDU leader Ajay Alok calls Kishor ‘mentally unstable’

Days after JDU leader Ajay Alok likened expelled JDU member Prashant Kishor with ‘coronavirus’, now he has called the political strategist ‘mentally unstable’.

Speaking to the ANI, Alok said that Kishor’s contradictory remarks for Bihar CM Nitish Kumar suggest that he is ‘mentally unstable’. Alok alleged that on one hand, Kishor equated Nitish Kumar with his father while, on the other hand, he is levelling slanderous allegations against him which are far from the truth.

Poll strategist Prashant Kishor had recently launched “Baat Bihar Ki” campaign targeting Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. Slamming Kumar, Kishor said that the ideological positioning of the JD(U) was the primary reason for his conflict with the chief minister. The campaign that will commence from February 20 will reach out to people who believe there is a need for new leadership in Bihar.

However, in a press briefing, Kishor stated that his relationship with Kumar had not entirely been political. “Nitish Ji treated me like a son. I have immense respect for him. I will not raise a question on his decision. It was his prerogative to keep me in or out of the party,” Kishor said.

The rift within the Janata Dal-United surfaced after the party, an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party, had voted in favour of the Citizenship Amendment Act in Parliament last month. The election strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor, who is also the vice-president of the party had opposed the Citizenship Amendment Act claiming that act is unconstitutional. Kishor has been consistently attacking the Modi government, especially after the historic CAA was passed in the parliament.

Earlier, Alok had referred to Kishor as ‘coronavirus’ to the party. Demanding removal of Prashant Kishor from the party, Alok said that he is a corporate broker of power and is untrustworthy. Alok also hinted that Kishor may soon leave the party. “He is not trustworthy. He could not win the trust of Modi Ji and Nitish Ji. He works for AAP, talks to Rahul Gandhi, sits with Mamata didi. Who will trust him? We are happy this #coronavirus is leaving us, he can go wherever he wants to,” Alok said.

A war of words ensued between Prashant Kishor and Nitish Kumar, each attacking the other over the party’s decision to support the Citizenship Amendment Act. Things turned particularly ugly when Kishor called Kumar a liar for saying that he was inducted in the party on the recommendation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Kishor was subsequently expelled from the party citing indiscipline as the reason for his ouster.

Modi and Shah will meet worse fate than other leaders who died, Muslim population will swell to 60 crores soon: Islamic cleric’s shocking statement

An Islamic cleric named Mufti Shahryar Raza has issued threats against PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and has incited open hostility against Hindus, a video of which has now gone viral.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tapc4G4FUTI]

Raza starts off vituperating against Muslim women who are participating at the vigil in Shaheen Bagh against the passage of Citizenship Amendment Act. He says that by recognising the existence of Lord Ram, Jesus, the protesters are indulging in destroying the Iman(faith) on Islam. The video was shared on 9th February by YouTube channel Ghulam-e-Raza.

“What does that lady in Delhi(Shaheen Bagh) says? Allah also lives in India and Bhagwan also lives in India. Ram also lives in India. So for India you are trading your faith? She says she is Indian first. She is first human, then a Muslim and then an Indian. Intoxicated by the protests, she doesn’t realise what should be said. Everyone has to die one day, whether you die in your own house or in a detention centre. What was the need to trade your religion? Do protest but by protecting your Iman(faith), fight against Kufars but don’t violate your Iman(faith). In such fights against the Kufars, if you were dealt with 2-3 blows, after death you will be bestowed with a better place(heaven) which your 80 years of praying to Allah will not be able to get you,” Maulana said.

In the video, the fanatical Maulana can be seen threatening PM Modi and Amit Shah with a dire fate and asserting that in the next 30 years, Muslims will start dominating the country as their population will swell to 60 crores. Maulana cites deaths of former EAM Sushma Swaraj, former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit to claim that PM Modi and Amit Shah will meet a similar fate in the next 3-4 years.

“A woman like Sushma Swaraj met her fate because she did not allow Sonia Gandhi to become India’s PM. Sheila Dikshit too met her fate. Arun Jaitley died recently. When Gandhi, Nehru, Rajiv, Narsimha, Vajpayee could not escape their deaths, do you think Modi-Shah can? They both will go as well. Why are you afraid? Wait for another 2 to 4 years, Modi and Shah will suffer graver consequences than these leaders,” he said.

Maulana also expressed his displeasure with the recently enacted Citizenship Amendment Act and the NRC. Insinuating death for PM Modi and Amit Shah, he said that anyone who is dreaming of ‘eradicating Muslims’ through CAA and NRC will be beaten by batons and burnt to death.

“30 years from, Muslims will population will rise to 60 crores and if the children of those who dream of an Islam-free India remain alive, they will see that the flag of Islamic sultanate will be waved everywhere in India,” he added.

“Islam is the biggest wealth,” he says adding that this is the wealth which even Bill Gates or Indira Gandhi or Rajiv Gandhi didn’t have. “As a Muslim, Allah will bless you with rewards for the pain you endure. ‘This hoor for that time you were beaten up with a stick,’ Allah will tell you for the pains. You will be given so many rewards as a Muslim that you will wish you had endured even more pain so you could get more rewards,” he says.

‘Santoor Mom’ trend: A three-decade old marketing technique that cashes in on deep-seated vulnerabilities of women

For the past three decades, the marketing technique of Santoor, the soap brand, has remained constant. While most beauty and personal hygiene products have shifted their market base to the Gen Z, Santoor has miraculously continued to target the 30-something-year-old mother with young children. With this marketing technique, it has done rather well for itself. The Wipro owned brand is now the second-largest selling soap in the country. One recalls the 2014 ad where a young woman dances, waving around a ribbon and Saif Ali Khan was left flabbergasted, almost titillated, when he finds out that the woman was not the new heroine, but, in fact, a mother.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZgP9QXph04]

5 years on, another ad that targets the exact same demography – the thirty-something-year-old mother has been released. This time, the young hunk employed to drool over the “yummy-mummy” is Varun Dhavan.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C77_gmVX_bE]

The format is largely the same. A young woman, in a packed cricket stadium, starts dancing after catching the ball which was presumably going for a six. While she danced like a lunatic in a packed stadium, Varun Dhawan and some other woman (who looks older, and hence, clearly doesn’t use Santoor) tells Dhawan that they have finally, finally found their new “college girl” for a movie. At that point, with his tongue wagging like a panting puppy, Dhawan approaches the “college girl”, who turns out to be a Maa!

There are several things wrong with the ad itself if one looks closely. Firstly, the underlying assumption itself that mothers cannot be ‘heroines’ in movies is staggeringly clear when Saif Ali Khan is shocked that the woman is not a ‘heroine’ but a ‘mother’. Second, the fact that the mother in the second ad simply lets her child loiter in a packed stadium only portrays an image of a deeply irresponsible parent, even if the parent looks as young as a zygote.

However, apart from the basic flaws in the storyline, the underlying USP of the product itself is deeply unsettling. For over 30 years, Santoor has sold a dream to young mothers – that escaping the ravages of age is possible. That dream being used to market the soap mostly went uncriticised because after watching the ad, mothers would silently use the product and when it didn’t miraculously transform them into teenagers, tell themselves that they actually use the soap because it has natural properties like sandalwood and saffron.

With the digital revolution, the silent exploitation of insecurities is no longer possible. A trend took Twitter by storm where several women posted their pictures with the hashtag #SantoorMoms. The images were stunning. With some mothers looking like children and their children looking like their school/college mates.

However, as I scrolled through the hashtag, something troubled me deeply and at the onset, I could not really put my finger on it. I sat wondering, what was it about this trend that left me vexed? That 30-something-year-olds were trying to look like teenagers? Their clothes? Was I just an average, judgemental prude? Was it a tinge of jealousy, an emotion that I personally consider the greatest sin there is?

I realised then, much to my relief, that none of the reasons came close to why I had trouble coming to terms with the trend. The Gordian-knot in this issue was the underlying values, expectations and constructs that not only the ad but the trend was promoting in the society. To understand what truly bothered me, I had to, uncomfortably, dig into my own insecurities as the mother of a 3-year-old who juggles an extremely demanding job.

Motherhood is a supremely joyous journey. From the 9 months that the mother carries the child, nourishes it, literally with her blood, to watching the child then grow, find its way in the world and grow into a person the parents can hopefully be proud of.

While the joie de vivre of raising a child in unparalleled, bringing the child into the world has its own share of challenges. A woman’s body changes, her personality changes, her hormones wreak havoc and by the time she comes to terms with the changes in her life, the onslaught of the years start raising their ugly head. Some women are genetically predispositioned to handle the cruelty of the past autumns far better than others. Some, just aren’t.

After a difficult pregnancy, when my child was born, my body had changed beyond recognition. I had a serious case of post-partum depression and while my daughter’s face momentarily melted the worries away, the insecurities would invariably return.

A few months into motherhood, I was back to work and my depression had vanished, thanks to a supremely supportive family. But there were fleeting moments when I secretly thought about how my life had changed. While clearing my cupboard, that one favourite dress made me think of a time when I could step out, nonchalantly, without a care in the world, looking like a million bucks. While many other dresses were packed away in a carton, that one dress was folded and kept away as a reminder of what used to be.

When out with friends, a glass of wine started to seem like something that should be avoided, first because I was feeding my child, and then, because I wanted to get home to my daughter in my senses – ‘what will she learn if I pick her up smelling of alcohol”, I think.

“Please eat, beta, I need to get back to work”, I say to her now. “Please take a bath, beta, I need to go cook and then get back to work”, I say to her now. And then, at the end of the day, everything seems worth it, a day well spent.

As life moves forward, suddenly, a call from a college friend leaves you ecstatic. “It has been so long! 12 years!”, we say. And when he mentions an old flame and the childish wooing that was rejected eventually, you laugh at the beautiful life long memories. Much later in the day, you look at the mirror and think about what it used to be. The cheekbone was just a little higher, the breasts did not need the underwires and the ass… well.. the ass.. was far more appropriately shaped and aesthetically placed.

The change is not as drastic as a woman believes it is. It never is. At the cost of sounding pedantic, women overthink almost everything. But the process of acceptance, the process of realisation that their life has changed starts after one has a child.

Things have, of course, changed drastically and with life expectancy increasing manyfold and the fitness culture taking over, rightly so, the 30s can very well be considered the new 20s. However, the societal standards of beauty that are often imposed and ingrained in women is what drives women to the edge, wondering what used to be, and trying to crawl their way back to what used to be, even as their life progresses. It is often a silent tormentor that women don’t talk about. “I don’t care”, they say. “I am so much happier now than I ever was”, they say. But a slight tuck of the shirt to cover the love handle during a meeting, a slight tuck of the hair when a 20-something-year-old passes them at the mall, a slight moment of pause after putting on their lipstick, gives their torment away more often than not.

My trepidation with the Santoor trend is that it aims to not only exploit this underlying, unsaid, silent tormentor but also reinforce the impossible standards that are expected from women.

Human beings, and especially child-bearing mothers are not supposed to look like teenagers forever. Some do, and they are genetically blessed, but by and large, nature is bound to catch up, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally. I know of very few 30-40-something-year-olds who would behave like teenagers jumping and dancing during a cricket match, not because they are conscious, but because their personality has progressed, experience, making them far more measured. While women come in all shapes, sizes and personalities, imposing the construct that middle-aged women behaving and looking like teenagers should be a goal to aim for is problematic and subconsciously, women riddled with these insecurities further that construct.

‘Age’ is certainly not what it used to be even a decade ago. Working women with demanding jobs and children live their lives just as joyously as any young-adult. However, to age gracefully with the full realisation of one’s responsibility is a blessing oft discounted. Doing so while not competing with women decades younger is grace which women should aspire for.

For a marketing gimmick to feed on unsaid insecurities of young mothers is an abomination that must stop. Women over 30 have no business behaving like 20-year-olds, and at the risk of sounding prudish, the ones who try almost appear mentally incapacitated. Every decade that nature bestows comes with its own triumphs, joys and even tribulations.

30-something-year-old accomplished women can dress well, act their age, be responsible and still look attractive. A woman really does not have to behave like a teenager, making a mockery of herself to be acceptable to the society and aiming to be attractive to teeny-popper boys is certainly an uncomfortable construct to further. It must be said here that I am referring strictly to the ads aired by Santoor and not the mothers who were sharing their pictures.

To impose a false, unmatchable construct on women that makes them run a race they can never win and end up looking stupid while trying is a curse foisted on modern society and only women can break the cycle – if not for ourselves, then our daughters. Let them not grow into a world that forces them to adhere to impossible standards.

Kasab had Hindu ID on him, ISI and Lashkar wanted him to die as “Samir Chaudhary”: Ex Mumbai top cop makes stunning revelations in his book

Former Mumbai Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria in his tell-all book ‘Let Me Say It Now’ has revealed that 26/11 Mumbai terror attack terrorist Ajmal Kasab had an ID with Hindu name on it. The ID found on Kasab had his name as “Samir Chaudhary”. Maria was on the control room duty on the day 10 Pakistani terrorists wrecked havoc in Mumbai.

Maria reveals how he unraveled the plot ISI and Lashkar-e-Toiba had hatched against India during the interrogation. All ten terrorists were made to seem like they were disgruntled Hindus who were against India because of ‘atrocities’ against Muslims. All ten terrorists were given saffron or red thread to be tied around their wrist. Identity cards with Hindu names with Indian addresses were placed in their pockets as the ISI and Lashkar wanted all the ten terrorists to die in the attack. Catching Kasab alive was the biggest breakthrough for Mumbai Police. Had he not been caught alive, the whole world would have been led to believe that this was a Hindu terror attack.

Because of this, guarding Kasab and ensuring his safety was more challenging to make sure he stays alive till the end of the trial. Earlier it was reported that the 26/11 terrorists even carried fake student ID cards of Arunoday College in Hyderabad. Maria reveals that Kasab was made to believe that Muslims are not allowed to offer namaz in India and that mosques are locked up. He thought that the azaan he heard in his prison cell was figment of his imagination. Maria then got police officials to take Kasab to a nearby mosque in a police vehicle to show that Indian Muslims are indeed allowed to offer namaz, contrary to what he was made to believe.

In 2010, months after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, along with film maker Mahesh Bhatt and others had launched a book which claimed that the Mumbai terror attacks were an RSS conspiracy. While the world was holding Pakistan responsible for 26/11, then Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh & close aide of Rahul Gandhi, had released the book “26/11 RSS Ki Saazish?” (26/11,An RSS Conspiracy?). The book was authored by Aziz Burney, Editor-in-Chief of Urdu Sahara newspaper.

Further, Singh had alleged that Maharashtra ATS chief Hemant Karkare had called him two hours before the 26/11 attack in Mumbai to say that his life was blighted by constant threats from those opposed to the ATS probe into the 2008 Malegaon blast in which Hindu extremists were accused. Thus, Singh had exonerated Pakistan and had decided to push the blame of 26/11 attack on RSS and Hindu extremists.

On Sheena Bora case, Maria, in his autobiography, says that a Mumbai Police officer kept him in dark about crucial information in the case. When he was promoted and transferred as Director General of Home Guards in middle of the case, Maharashtra government had issued a statement that even though he was transferred, he would continue to oversee the case. He further states that he suspected someone had wrongly briefed the then Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis about the murder case on his behalf.

In fact, Maria further reveals that the then Mumbai Joint Commissioner Deven Bharti kept him in the dark about knowledge of Indrani and Peter Mukerjea. During interrogation Peter had revealed that he had approached Bharti back in 2012 after Sheena went missing but Maria was not informed about this. Bharti is currently the ATS chief of Maharashtra.

As per reports, in his autobiography, the former Mumbai top cop says that owing to his informant network, he managed to save business tycoon Lalit Modi’s life. After Maria met Modi in London in 2014 when he was there for a conference, it had led to a lot of controversy. Maria says that after his meet with the tainted ex-IPL boss, he had soon informed the Home Ministry of the same. Modi was being threatened by the underworld back then.

Shaheen Bagh: Protestors fear that their movement will weaken if they stop blocking roads and shift to an alternate site

A day after a 2-Judge Bench of the Supreme Court appointed Sanjay Hedge and Sadhana Ramachandran as ‘interlocutors’ to convince the Shaheen Bagh protestors to shift their demonstration to an alternate site, the protestors have said that it would weaken their movement.

As per a New Indian Express report, on being asked about the traffic inconvenience caused to people, an IIT Delhi student Asif Mujtaba said that the road blockade was a pressure tactic. He added that the protestors could open up one side of the road while continuing their sit-in protest on the other side. Asif expressed his delight over the fact that the apex court acknowledged their ‘right to protest.’

He claimed, “There is a chance that the protesters reach a consensus with the court-appointed interlocutors”. Asif, however, hit out at that the Delhi police for their disapproval of the use of women and children as shields in Shaheen Bagh. He, however, also stated that the protestors may oblige if the Supreme Court orders them to shift to an alternative location.

The report quoted another protestor, Nadeem Khan, saying that the pressure tactic would fail if they relocated to an alternative site.

“The main reason for blocking the road was to pressure the government but now if we go to an irrelevant place, I am not sure whether we could insist on our demands with the same thrust or not,” Nadeem was quoted saying in the NIE report.

Nadeem complained that the Supreme Court should have asked the BJP-led-government to talk to protestors instead of telling the peaceful protestors to shift. The petitions to clear Shaheen Bagh and Kalindi Kunj were filed by lawyer and activist Amit Sahni and BJP leader Nand Kishore Garg.

The Shaheen Bagh sit-in protests were orchestrated after violent protests by Muslim mobs across the country that went on vandalising public properties was widely condemned by the media and the public. The demonstration that is premised on Islamic supremacy and has encouraged blatant Hinduphobia has exceeded 2 months now.

The highway connecting Faridabad- Delhi- Noida had been blocked by the protestors, leading to traffic woes and forcing locals to protest against them. A 4-month old child had died during these protests while several journalists had been manhandled while reporting on the Anti-CAA protests in the area.
