As Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman posted the message of Swami Vivekananda, a wannabe liberal jumped on to her timeline to mock her in a condescending manner for quoting Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary.
One Sanjoy Ghose, who claims to be a struggling lawyer, also struggled to comprehend facts and shockingly made sexist comments by calling the Union Minister ‘Sweetie’. He claimed that Finance Minister had wrongly quoted Swami Vivekananda’s poem which was inspired from Katha Upanishad.

Responding to condescending ‘lawyer’, Sithraman shot back and schooled him regarding the facts. She stated that Swami Vivekananda is often quoted with the verse from Katha Upanishad, however, the poem was from ‘The Awakened India’, written in August 1898, contrary to what Ghose claimed.

Swami Vivekananda propounded the importance of education in building a nation. He believed that education was the primary means to empowering people. He especially emphasized on education being relevant to the common masses.
On the lines of making his dream come true, the Indian Government has sanctioned a “Value Education Project” of the Ramakrishna Mission. The ‘Value Education Project’ aims to inculcate moral values in students and provide them with a decision making framework for life.
In 2019, CBSE proposed to introduce the Value Education Programme in its affiliated schools for students of classes 6, 7, and 8.
In a very significant development in the terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, a senior police officer of J&K Police was arrested by the state police forces along with two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Davinder Singh, a decorated police officer who had won the prestigious President’s Police Medal on 15th August last year, was arrested near Mir Bazar in Qazigund area of Kulgam District in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, when he along with the two terrorists were travelling in a car. They were reportedly travelling to Delhi.
The two HM terrorists arrested along with Singh have been identified as Naveed Babu and Asif Rather. The trio was nabbed by a J&K police party led by South Kashmir Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Atul Goel. Both the terrorists are from Sophian. Two AK-47 rifles and some hand grenades were found in the Maruti car used by them.
DSP Davinder Singh was currently posted at the Srinagar International Airport. Earlier he was in the anti-hijacking squad of J&K police, and before that a part of the special operations group when the elite force was established. He was posted as an inspector in the SOG, and due to his successful anti-terror operations, he had got an out-of-turn promotion as DSP.
But later he was removed from SOG after there were allegations of extortions against him, and he was suspended from services for some time. After that, he was posted at the police control room and then the anti-hijacking unit.
According to reports, later the police party raided Singh’s house in Shivpora near army headquarters in Badamibagh and recovered one AK-47 rifle, two pistols and three hand grenades. His ancestral house at Tral in Pulwama district was also raided by police. According to police sources, the DSP had taken a leave of four days from Saturday on the pretext of visiting Jammu. Another AK-47 was recovered based on Naveed Babu’s information.
The HM terrorist Naveed Babu arrested along with Singh is also a former J&K police constable. In 2017 he had fled from his duties with two AK-47 rifles and joined HM. He is currently the Hizbul Mujahideen’s operational commander of South Kashmir, the second in command in the area after divisional commander Riyaz Naikoo.
Naveed is expert in making IEDs, and is involved in several terror activities. He is accused of killing 11 non-local truck drivers and labourers in south Kashmir in October and November last year. According to sources, Police were tracking his movements and he was traced when he made a phone call to his brother.
It is important to note that DSP Davinder Singh’s name had come in the 2001 parliament case too, as the prime accused Afzal Guru had taken his name in a letter written to his Supreme Court lawyer Sushil Kumar. In the letter written from Tihar jail in 2004, Afzal Guru had said that he was forced by Guru to take one of the attackers named Mohammad to New Delhi, rent a flat for him to stay and also to purchase a car from him. Afzal had also alleged that Singh and another police officer Shanty Singh had tortured him at the Humhama STF camp. Shanty Singh is currently in jail for shooting down a civilian in police custody labelling him a terrorist.
Afzal had said that a person named Atlaf Hussain, brother in law of Budgam SSP Ashaq Hussain, had brokered a deal between his family and DSP Davinder Singh for his release, and in exchange Singh had asked him to transport Mohammad to Delhi.
Ever since the Modi government passed the historic Citizenship Amendment Act to provide citizenship to persecuted minorities of three neighbouring countries, the Congress party has indulged in a misinformation campaign to discredit the government’s initiative.
In a similar act, Senior Congress leader and Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor on Saturday resorted to spreading half-truths to mislead public on the provisions of Citizenship Amendment Act.
Taking to Twitter, the Congress MP posted an image of a protestor holding a poster, who is apparently asking a few questions to the Modi government. However, the questions posed by the so-called protestor, which perhaps even Shashi Tharoor also concurs with, do not literally question the government but peddles misinformation regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act under the guise of asking ‘tough’ questions to the establishment.
If someone takes a careful look at the poster of the protestor, the questions being asked to the government has itself been based out of wrong facts. By resorting to false facts, the protestor is not only misleading public but also creating a panic among the citizens.
Shashi Tharoor, being an elected representative of the Parliament, adds more fuel to the fire by posting such misleading image on his social media platform to spread more propaganda instead of reprimanding the young man for spreading propaganda.
The protestor poses a set of questions to the Modi government like if Voter ID was not a proof a Citizenship, how was BJP in power? Secondly, he asks if Aadhaar is not proof citizenship, why was it linked to Bank accounts and lastly, if PAN card isn’t a proof for Citizenship, why it is being used by the government to collect Income Tax.
It is rather laughable to see such posters being paraded at anti-CAA rallies as there aren’t any provisions in the entire legislation that seek Indian citizens to prove their citizenship. It is important to note that the Citizenship Amendment Act was passed by the Parliament of India to grant citizenship to those persecuted religious minorities from three neighbouring countries of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
In fact, there are no provisions in the entire legislation which either demands any Indian to submit their documents. Addition to this, the objective of the legislation is to grant citizenship to persecuted people and not to take away the citizenship of any particular group of Indian citizens, especially Muslims.
To answer senior Congress leader’s questions, the voter ID card is issued by Election Commission of India. Only those who are above the age of 18 years are eligible to get voter ID. Hence, a voter ID alone cannot be considered comprehensive proof of citizenship. And since he asked, BJP is in power because majority of Indians above the age of 18 years voted for it. For someone who has won his 3rd term as Member of Parliament, surely would know how the election process works.
Further, Aadhaar Card is given every resident of the country and not to citizens only. Secondly, it is linked to bank accounts in a bid to eliminate financial frauds. Moreover, linking Aadhaar to banks allows people who do not have PAN to open a bank account under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and that way, the subsidies meant for the poor can directly go to the bank accounts, thereby getting rid of middlemen.
And to answer his third question, why PAN is linked to income tax returns, well, even non-resident Indians as well as foreigners have to pay income tax if they fall in tax paying bracket. If income is generated in India, one needs to pay income tax on it as per the Income Tax Act, 1961, as amended from time to time. As a lawmaker himself, who was once a junior minister serving the government of India, one would expect he’d know the basics of how things work in India.
A 75-year-old man Kariman Mian, of Makri village in Garhwa district in Jharkhand, who died of natural causes on Thursday, was denied burial in the graveyard as the Iman of Makri Masjid, Zakir Ansari, issued a fatwa against him for his ‘unIslamic’ lifestyle. His body was buried in land near his house and not in the graveyard without any ‘janaza ki namaz’.
As per the Imam, Kariman Mian’s food habits were not ‘halal’ and used to drink liquor. As per reports, some people from the community also opposed his burial as he was friendly with Hindus and spent his time mingling with them and going to temples and also accused him of indulging in ‘black magic’. Eventually, the Hindus came forward and completed the burial formalities.
As per the information given by his relatives, a Jagran report states that Kariman Mian did not have any son. The relatives had gathered to bury him after he passed away and were digging the grave. But secretary of Muslim community Maqbool Ansari and Imam Zakir stopped them from digging the grave. They said that since Kariman Mian used to work as a healer and visited temples, he will not be given space on the graveyard to bury him and nor will anyone from the community be part of his burial ceremony.
Following the botched up ‘sting operation’ by India Today, which tried to falsely depict alleged left-wing students as ABVP members and implicate them for the crimes that the left-wing forces unleashed on January 5 inside campus, the India Today has suffered a massive meltdown and has indulged in attempts to brazen it out despite being caught red-handed.
On Sunday, in a similar act, the India Today media network yet again indulged in another false propaganda against the JNU administration to absolve ultra-left wing forces from their crimes.
Tanushree Pandey, the India Today journalist, came up with a gem as she claimed that they had accessed emails sent from the server of Communication and Information services, which have been damaged by the left-wing students on January 4. With claims of emails sent by JNU administration, she hinted at no damage for servers as stated by Delhi police.
The ‘journalist’ who seems to have no idea regarding how the system of email works implied that if emails could be sent from these servers, how could someone claim that servers have been damaged by left-wing students.

Soon, NDTV journalist Arvind Gunasekar also made similar bizarre claims on how could JNU administration could send mails if the servers at CIS had already damaged.
JNU VC had said that Communication and Information Service was vandalised by students on Jan 4 and so CCTVs weren’t working on Jan 5th…University’s digital services came to a stand still till Jan 8.
Gunasekar, himself, is a JNU alumni and one would expect at least he would know how the internal mails in JNU work.
In a hurry to target ABVP students and JNU administration, the ‘journalists’ seems to have waged war against science and technology as they failed to even comprehend basic technological aspects behind the working of an email system.
According to India Today journalist Tanushree Pande, the emails cannot be sent by the JNU administration if the servers at the CIS is damaged, thereby insinuating that left students had not damaged servers inside the JNU as stated by Delhi police. The emails have been sent by JNU administration on January 5, a day after the servers were damaged by leftist goons.
However, in reality, ‘journalists’ seem to be thinking that the servers at JNU is using the same server for email that is used for other activities like regisration for semester and Wi-Fi access in the campus. To their embarrassment, the ‘journalists’ have utterly failed to comprehend the basic difference between mail servers and web servers.
But a simple online search of the MX record of JNU’s email domain shows that the university’s email servers are not located in its campus. Tech-savvy netizens quickly pointed outed that JNU is using Google Suite, a corporate solution from Google that includes the facitlity to use Gmail with custom domain names, for all its email needs. Therefore, the email servers are not located inside the JNU campus, but they are located in the servers farms operated by tech giant Google, which are located outside India.
According to the MXtoolweb site, the “jnu.ac.in” site, which is the email domain of JNU, is hosted on Google servers and not on the servers which are damaged inside the JNU campus. A IP location lookup of associated IP addresses point to Google headquarters at Mountain View, California, the address Google uses to register its servers.

Moreover, as per another online tool ultratools.com, JNU’s mail servers are located in the US, as it shows the locations along with the owner of the servers.

From the above, it can be categorically said that although JNU uses servers located in the campus for other IT-related activities, it is not hosting its own email server. As they are using Gmail services, their mails are hosted by Google, not by CIS at JNU. Therefore, the JNU administration can still send and receive emails from any computer connected to internet and is not dependent on the JNU network. As the left-wing students had only disabled the CIS servers and Wi-Fi access in the campus, it is possible that the computers used by the JNU administration were connected to the internet independently or with a separate network which was still functioning, and it was not dependent on the servers which were damaged as claimed by our esteemed ‘journalists’.
It can be noted that although earlier companies and instutions used to host their own email servers, that trend has changed and now most organisations use corporate email solutions provided by companies such as Google and Microsoft.
It seems there have been concerted campaigns against the ABVP in an alleged effort to save the ultra left-wing students, who are the main accused in the JNU violence. As Delhi police revealed that seven left-wing students, including Aishe Ghosh – the president of JNUSU – and four left students organisations were responsible for the barbaric violence that was inflicted on students on the campus, left-wing ‘liberal-secular’ media have resorted to a hit job against the ABVP.
Soon after Delhi police carried out the press conference in which evidence was released to the public regarding the involvement of ultra-left-wing students in the violence, India Today had come up with a shoddy sting operation claiming two JNU students allegedly belonging to the ABVP confessed on camera for instigating violence and vandalising the Sabarmati hostel on January 5.
A detailed fact-check was done by OpIndia regarding the so-called India Today sting operation and proved that the whole investigation was nothing but lies and half-truths to falsely implicate ABVP and absolve left-wing forces from its crimes that they had unleashed on JNU campus.
India Today had not only failed to prove that the two members belonged to ABVP but also indulged in fake news by sharing misleading images.
Responding to India Today’s hit job, the nationalist students’ organisation ABVP had categorically rejected charges that the two alleged JNU students were associated with the organisation. Despite clarifications by the ABVP, India Today had carried out their fake story to mislead the public on the JNU violence.
Interestingly, one of the students- Akshat Awasthi, who India Today had ‘exposed’ in its fake sting operation on Saturday as a member of ABVP, had retracted his statements by stating that whatever statements he had made to the India Today reporter were false and said he only such confessions simply to display bravado. In fact, Awasthi has said that he is not even a member of ABVP.
After Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone’s PR stunt ahead of release of Chhapaak where she visited JNU and stood by one of the accused in violence, JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh, received flak over the social media, many people had called for boycott of her new film. Reacting to the call to boycott the film, saffron-turned-‘liberal’ political party Shiv Sena has condemned the same saying that such an act is reflective of ‘Talibani mindset’.
As they say, the Internet never forgets. Netizens were quick to point out all the times Shiv Sena had acted like thugs.
In November, 2017, ahead of release of Deepika Padukone starrer Padmaavat, Shiv Sainiks had burned effigies of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and had also demanded a complete ban on the film. In fact, even after Shiv Sena became ‘liberal’ and joined hands with Congress and NCP, the party workers went violent and stopped screening of a Kannada film in Maharashtra in December, 2019. In the past, Shiv Sena has violently opposed release of various films including Mani Ratnam’s Bombay, Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan, Aamir Khan’s PK, amongst others.
Netizens also reminded Shiv Sena of the time they indulged in destruction of public property.

The hypocrisy was clearly not lost on twitterati who reminded Shiv Sena how their workers forcibly shaved off the head of a man because he criticised Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray in a Facebook post. Later, Shiv Sena goons attacked and assaulted a government employee for calling Uddhav Thackeray ‘nalayak’ in a Facebook post.
In yet another attack on the religious minorities in Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Multan Bar Association has passed a resolution which prohibits non-Muslim lawyers including Ahmadis, sect of Islam whom Pakistan state has declared ‘non-Muslims’, from participating in the Bar Council elections. As per reports, the resolution presented by the lawyers of District Bar Association also stated that those willing to contest elections and vote must also submit an affidavit to prove their faith in Islam.
Such news from Pakistan comes at a time when Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan is giving tips to India on how to protect the minorities in India in the backdrop of passage of Citizenship Amendment Act which ironically looks at providing Indian citizenship to persecuted religious minorities in neighbouring Islamic countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Earlier this month, Muslim mob had surrounded Nankana Sahib Gurudwara in Pakistan, which is the holy site where Guru Nanak was born, and had pelted stones at the holy shrine while shouting that they won’t let Sikhs live in Pakistan. Shockingly, two days after the attack, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, instead of condemning the attack on Sikhs in Pakistan, had blamed PM Modi and RSS on attacks on India.
The nationalist organisation Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has firmly backed the Modi government’s Citizenship Amendment Act and has vehemently opposed opposition parties’ demand for withdrawal of the historic legislation.
According to the Sunday Guardian report, the RSS has communicated its 100% support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government on the issue of CAA. The RSS has stated that the CAA is a much-needed step towards uniting the Hindu community and the legislation which was passed by two Houses of Parliament does not discriminate against any religion.
The issue of the CAA was the main focus during the three-day-long RSS informal talks held in Indore from 5 January to 7 January on the “conditions prevailing in the country”. The meet was attended by top RSS functionaries, including its chief Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi.
The RSS functionaries also closely analysed the anti-CAA protests that are taking place across the country. According to the RSS, the protests do not represent the sentiments of the majority of Indians, who are in support of the CAA.
As per the Sunday Guardian report, senior RSS functionaries said that the consensus that emerged during this three-day meet was that the reasons being given by the protestors against the CAA do not hold any truth, which was evident in the way that the CAA was branded as anti-Muslim as soon as it was passed by Parliament, even details regarding the implementation had not been announced.
“The whole anti-CAA movement is based on poisonous propaganda that Muslims are being targeted. There is nothing in the Act that proves this false contention. The Opposition parties including private individuals have been successful, to some extent, in spreading this false notion. A lot of discussions happened on the CAA and there is nothing wrong in it and it should be implemented across the country. The government should not retreat because some vested sections are against it,” an RSS leader said to Sunday Guardian. The deliberations were held in detail and with an “open mind” and discussed all the points that the protestors were raising against CAA.
The RSS believes that neither the Jharkhand elections nor the upcoming Delhi elections, were or will be a mandate on the CAA. “State elections are decided on local issues. CAA is a national issue. The win or loss in Delhi will not be the right parameter to gauge the mood of the people on CAA,” he added.
On Sunday, the RSS will take out a massive rally in support of the CAA in Indore, in Congress-ruled Madhya Pradesh. It expects close to 2.5 lakh people to attend the rally. The RSS has asked its cadre to start spreading awareness among the people on the ground about the benefits of CAA and not to wait for the Union government’s push for the same.
According to the RSS, there is a lot of misinformation spread with mala fide intentions against the CAA, which is an Act necessary to identify illegal migrants.
“If you negate the argument, which is prima facie false, that CAA is against Indian Muslims, on what grounds will the protesters speak against the CAA? That is what the RSS wants its cadre to do—annihilate this false bogey that the Act is going to target Indian Muslims,” a senior RSS functionary reportedly told the Sunday Guardian.
According to senior RSS leader, a difference of opinions was something that the RSS believed in and it sees the anti-CAA protests in the same light. “Nowhere is it written that people cannot oppose or speak against government policies. We also oppose government policies many times; some of our opposition is taken into consideration, some not. Dissent is one of the main ingredients of democracy,” he said as he dismissed the notion that the anti-CAA sentiment was a “pan India-all pervasive” protest.
The Citizenship Amendment act seeks to give Indian citizenship to the members of Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian communities who have come from three neighbouring Islamic countries – Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh after facing religious persecution.
The Act states the refugees of the six communities will be given Indian citizenship after residing in India for five years, instead of earlier requirement of 11 years. The Act also proposes to give immunity to such refugees facing legal cases after being found as illegal migrants. The cut-off date for granting citizenship will be December 31, 2014.
In a recent interview, Indian Army chief General MM Naravane said that the Army will take appropriate actions to take back the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir if the Parliament issues instructions.

“As far as PoK is concerned, years ago, the Parliament passed a resolution that entire Jammu and Kashmir, erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir, is part of us. There is a parliamentary resolution. And if the Parliament wants that that area should also be part of us, and we are given instructions for it, then we will definitely take appropriate action,” General MM Naravane said.
A resolution was adopted in the Parliament in 1994 which said that the entire erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. On feasibility of military operations in PoK, General MM Naravane said that the Indian Army has forces deployed across all borders and have various plans. If required, these plans can be put into action and successfully carry out the tasks they’re asked to do.
As the misconception surrounding the Citizenship Amendment Act appears to be diminishing, some of the left-leaning intellectuals are going overboard to fan falsehoods and distortions about the recently legislated act. One such intellectual is the former IAS officer Kannan Gopinathan, who brazenly indulged in fueling fear among people with regard to the act that intends to grant citizenship to the persecuted minorities from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
Speaking at an event in Bengaluru, Kannan tried to imply that the Act has several loopholes which might be exploited by the central government. He argued that the Citizenship Amendment Act has not declared who an “illegal immigrant” is.

However, it appears that Kannan Gopinathan himself has not read the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 as well as the original Citizenship Act, 1955, or he has no idea about acts and their amendments. The CAA is just an amendment to the existing Citizenship Act 1955. The CAA becomes part of the Citizenship Act by providing fast-tracking of the citizenship process for the persecuted minorities from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, and it is not an independent act.
The Citizenship Act 1955 clearly states the definition of an “illegal immigrant”. The act mentions that “illegal migrant” means a foreigner who has entered into India “either without a valid passport or travel documents and such other document or authority as may be prescribed by or under any law in that behalf or with a valid passport or other travel documents and such other document or authority as may be prescribed by or under any in that behalf but remains therein beyond the permitted period of time”.

This is the case with any amendment, they define words only if they are newly introduced, the amendments do not define terms which are already defined in the original act, as there is no need to do that. By alleging that the amendment does not define the term ‘illegal immigrant’, the former IAS officer displays a shocking ignorance about the Indian legal system.
However, Kannan did not stop there. Continuing his fear-mongering about the Act amongst the Muslim population of the country, Kannan said in the interaction that the Citizenship Amendment Act does not “clearly say how Indian Muslims will be spared during the process”.

By alleging that there is nothing in the Act that states Muslims will be spared, Kannan is not only conveniently brushing aside the assurances provided by PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah that the Act in no way affect the Indian Muslims, but also adding fuel to fire by alluding that Indian Muslims might lose their citizenship due to enactment of the CAA. However, the Act applies to persons only belonging to three foreign countries-Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh and not to the Indian citizens.
Notwithstanding PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s repeated assurances that the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 has no bearing on the Indian Muslims, Kannan continued inciting misgivings about the Act in a desperate attempt to keep alive the wilting anti-CAA protests.
