The top four finishers of the Beijing Half Marathon were stripped of their medals following an investigation which revealed that three African runners slowed down deliberately near the finishing line to let a Chinese competitor win, as per the organisers, reported by CNN.

China’s He Jie crossed the finishing line with the timings of 1:03:44 and clinched a gold medal and a cash prize of 5,500 USD. The African trio fell just one second short of victory and secured a joint-second place.

A video clip of the finish showed Kenya’s Willy Mnangat turning towards He and gestured him to move ahead as four men were running neck-to-neck. Robert Keter, a former 5 km world record holder, also a Kenyan athlete, waved at He to overtake the trio and signalled his compatriot and Ethipia’s Dejene Hailu to hang back.

The video caused a lot of uproar in China and many called for investigation and action from organisers.

In a statement issued on Friday, the organising committee of the marathon said that the three runners, “actively slowed down in the last 2 kilometers and as a result He Jie won the men’s championship.”

The results of all four athletes along with their trophies, medals and bonuses will be revoked, added the statement.

The three African runners were invited to join the race as pacemakers by Chinese sports company Xtep, which sponsored both He and the marathon, as per committee. But Xtep could not note the trio as pacemakers to the race operator, Zhong’ao Lupao Beijing Sports Management company, the committee said.

The committee disqualified the operator from hosting the Beijing Half Marathon banned Xtep from hosting more races this season.

In a statement issued on Friday, Xtep “sincerly apologised” to all the competitors and its customers.

“We bear a great responsibility for this, fully accept the punishment decision made by the organizing committee,” it said, vowing to “reflect seriously and conduct a deep review” to “ensure such incidents do not happen again in the future.”

He, 25 years of age, has broken the records of Chinese marathon twice within past two years and is considered as one of the best long-distance runners of his country. He is ranked 74th in world rankings by World Athletics and is expected to lead the Asian runners during the Paris 2024 Olympics.

State govt should hand over the case to the CBI if police incapable of fair probe: JP Nadda after meeting father of Neha Hiremath killed by Fayaz

On 21st April Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda visited the house of Niranjan Hiremath, Congress Councillor of Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation who lost his 24-year-old daughter Neha at the hands of her former classmate named Mohammad Fayaz. He revealed that the grieving father has demanded a Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the case. Fayaz stabbed Neha to death on her college campus for rejecting his advances.

JP Nadda stated, “We express deep sorrow and extend our condolences to the aggrieved family. This is a shocking incident and we condemn it. We assure you that justice will be served. CM Siddaramaiah’s and Home Minister G Parameshwara’s statements on this incident are objectionable. Their statements dilute the investigation. The people of Karnataka will not spare the current government for its appeasement politics. The state government should hand over the case to the CBI if the state police is incapable of a fair probe. Hiremath has also demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident as he has less faith in the State police.”

Niranjan Hiremath also expressed his frustration and dissatisfaction with his own party’s leaders for ruling out the Love Jihad factor in his daughter’s case. He asked Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G Parameshwar to apply caution and take back their remarks that minimized the role of religion in his daughter’s tragic death and instead attributed it to “personal reasons.”

Neha Hiremath was stabbed to death on 18th April by Fayaz at B V Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology in Hubbali where the two were studying and the entire incident was captured on camera. She was rejecting his overtures to get into a relationship, despite his persistent pestering. He killed her because he was reportedly dismayed and angry after he had been pursuing and stalking her for several months.

Fayaz attacked her with a knife as soon as she emerged from the college and repeatedly stabbed her in the neck. He had a mask on hiding his face. He took off with the weapon and left leaving her profusely bleeding. After witnessing the horrible incident, other students brought the girl to the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospital where she succumbed to her grave injuries.

The accused had fled and was later apprehended by the police. The police asserted that he had informed his friends that he would finish the female who had turned down his offer, indicating that he was preparing to kill Neha. Further investigation into the case is underway.

On Sunday (21st April), Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party for including the ultra-leftist agenda of ‘Wealth redistribution’ promised by Rahul Gandhi. PM Modi asserted that its election manifesto reflects the ideology of Maoists. 

While addressing an election rally in Banswara, Rajasthan, PM Modi asserted that the Congress party has fallen into the trap of leftists and urban naxals. He added that several estranged leaders who have left the grand old party have highlighted this. According to him, they told him that the Congress party’s manifesto reflects the same. 

PM Modi said, “Congress is trapped in the clutches of the Leftists and urban naxals. What Congress has said in its manifesto is serious and worrying. It reflects the Maoist ideology.” 

Further in his address, PM Modi slammed the Congress party over promising Wealth redistribution. He warned the voters that according to the Congress party’s announcement if they form the government, gold, silver, ornaments like Mangalsutra, property, etc of Indians will be surveyed. PM Modi stressed that ‘Mangalsutra’ is more about their feelings and dreams than Gold. 

PM Modi emphasised, “They have said that if they form a government then a survey of property belonging to every person will be done. It will be checked how much gold our sisters own, how much money government employees have…They also said that gold owned by our sisters would be equally distributed. Does govt have the right to take your property? ‘Mangalsutra’ sone ki keemat ka mudda nahi hai, unke sapno se juda hua hai…”

PM Modi recalled the infamous remark by then-PM Manmohan Singh where he argued that Muslims have the first right over resources. 

Highlighting the same, the Prime Minister added that this means that after doing the wealth survey they will distribute it to people who have more children, to illegal migrants, and to Muslims, for whom Manmohan Singh had said they had the first right over resources.

Earlier in the day, while addressing a rally in Rajasthan’s Jalore, PM Modi took a dig at senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi stating that those who can’t fight and win elections have come to Rajasthan this time.

Taking a jibe at the deteriorating condition of the Congress, PM Modi said that the Congress which had once won 400 seats is now incapable of contesting 300 seats in this Lok Sabha election adding that the party is the “symbol of instability.” 

He added that the people of the country are punishing Congress for its “sins“.

“The Congress party itself is responsible for the condition it has reached today. Earlier, Rajasthan sent former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Rajya Sabha, and now you have another leader of Congress in Rajya Sabha (Sonia Gandhi). People who knew that they could not win, ran away from the race and reached Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. Congress hollowed the country by spreading the termites of ‘parivaarwad’ and corruption. The youth of the country is so angry with Congress that it doesn’t want to see their face again,” the Prime Minister further stated.

Businessman Raju Hargunani repeatedly stabbed by minor Muslim boy who worked in his store causing his intestines to split out, detained

A knife attack on a Hindu businessman Raju Hargunani was reported on 19th April in the Kanpur area of Uttar Pradesh. The primary accused is a minor from the Muslim community who had previously worked at the shoe showroom. The victim’s intestines were also ripped open in the brutal assault. He is critically injured and has been receiving treatment at the moment while the juvenile assailant is in police custody. There were four attackers, based on the police.

The incident pertained to Kanpur City’s eastern region. The Kotwali neighbourhood has Naveen market where the 57-year-old man had opened his shoe store. Sunil Kumar, his nephew registered a police complaint according to which Bilal, Akhtar and Shaan have been working at the shop along with the 14-year-old who was employed only a few days ago. The youngster who is a resident of Chamanganj was allegedly scolded because he was inefficient and removed from the business. He had then furiously threatened “I will see you,” while leaving the shop.

Between 8:30 to 9 pm on the fateful day, Rajkumar alias Raju Hargunani was seated at his showroom counter when the underage boy entered there holding a large knife and unleashed a vicious attack on the Hindu male stabbing him eleven times repeatedly. He sustained numerous injuries to his hands, back and stomach which were cut open and his intestines were exposed. The entire place was covered in blood.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator warned the nearby people to stay away while threatening them with the knife as they flocked to the horrifying scene after hearing the screams. He stabbed his former employer multiple times before absconding from there. The instance sent people into a frenzy. Raju Hargunani was admitted to a hospital where he is being kept on a ventilator. The complainant has demanded severe punishment for the culprit. OpIndia has a copy of the complaint.

The authorities have already started their action in the case. The teenager had escaped to his aunt’s (mother’s sister) house in Lucknow after committing the crime and was apprehended on 20th April from there. They have registered a First Information Report under sections 307 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. The cops have also recovered the knife used in the attack. Further probe is underway and additional required actions are being taken.

The accused claimed during the interrogation that the owner had mistreated and abused him when asked for money before Eid and chased him away. He again reached the store on 19th April but didn’t get anything which infuriated him and he attacked the old man. The police will send him to a juvenile detention centre after producing him in the juvenile court on 21st April.

Thiruvananthapuram: Congress candidate Shashi Tharoor booked for carrying out false campaign against his rival Rajeev Chandrasekhar

On Sunday (21st April), Police stated that senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha candidate from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor has been booked for allegedly carrying out a false campaign against Union Minister and rival candidate Rajeev Chandrasekhar. Notably, the case against Tharoor was registered by the Cyber Police in Thiruvananthapuram on 15th April but its details were revealed today. 

According to the Police, the case has been filed against Shashi Tharoor based on a complaint lodged by BJP leader J R Padmakumar. The BJP leader accused Tharoor of carrying out a false campaign against Rajeev Chandrasekhar during a television program.

According to the complaint, during the program, Tharoor had made defamatory statements against Chandrasekhar with regard to ‘influencing voters’ of coastal regions in the Lok Sabha election. 

A cyber police official said that the case was registered under Sections 171-G and 500 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 65 of the IT Act. The official added that an investigation is going on in the matter. Notably, IPC Section 177-G refers to raising false statements in connection with an election, while IPC Section 500 relates to defamation. 

Congress candidate from Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha constituency Tharoor is yet to react to the registration of the case.

Earlier on 14th April, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) Nodal Officer issued a warning to Congress candidate Shashi Tharoor for making “unverified allegations” against Union Minister and BJP candidate Rajeev Chandrasekhar. 

As per reports citing the Thiruvananthapuram Nodal Officer, Tharoor made an unverified allegation against Rajeev Chandrasekhar at an interview on a news channel, which violated the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). The Congress leader claimed that Chandrasekhar was offering money to voters and religious leaders in exchange for votes.

The MCC Nodal Officer had said, “A Complaint was filed by JR Padmakumar, Election Legal Convenor, BJP before the DEO on April 6, alleging that “Unsubstantiated accusations” were made by Sashi Tharoor in a “Meet the Candidate” Interview hosted by 24 News Channel. It was alleged that Sashi Tharoor accused Rajeev Chandrasekhar of offering money to voters and religious leaders in exchange for vote. On April 8, another Complaint was filed by VV Rajesh, NDA Convenor, on the same subject matter. He has alleged that Statements made by Sashi Tharoor in the Interview was “Utterly false, Frivolous” and made to defame. Further, He submitted that Sashi Tharoor by making the impugned statement in the interview, has violated Rule 1(2), Rule 1(3) of the MCC, and S.123(3) of the RP act.”

Previously, on 10th April, Rajeev Chandrasekhar served a legal notice to Tharoor for defamation.

“One of the allegations is that I am paying money for votes. I have said very clearly that, I will not be drawn into this negative type of politics. However, if anybody defames me and attempts to trespass into an area by telling lies about me, I will certainly not be quiet. I will certainly use all the tools under the law to ensure that that person is held accountable,” Chandrasekhar had said.

A day later, Tharoor said he had not received any notice and denied having made any allegations. Later on 12th April, Tharoor reportedly sought an apology from Chandrasekhar for issuing the defamation notice.

Meanwhile, Shashi Tharoor’s election campaign has been marred with controversies. On 7th April, a group of Congress workers stopped Tharoor during his campaign and were seen shouting him down and raising slogans “Go back” and “no vote for you”.

Politics has intensified in Kerala’s cultural capital, Thrissur after Police excesses marred the popular temple festival, Thrissur Pooram. The development triggered sharp political reactions in the state as the opposition parties BJP and UDF slammed the LDF government for dampening the festivities, putting unwanted restrictions on Pooram and Police excesses. BJP stressed that there was a conspiracy to ‘destroy the festival’. 

Notably, Thrissur marked the famous Thrissur Pooram festivities that began on the 20th of April this year. As part of the festivities, devotees and onlookers had gathered in large numbers near the temple to celebrate the festival with music, procession, fair, and its famous fireworks. The festivities also involve friendly rivalry and competition between different temples. 

However, police interference and excessive restrictions reportedly caused chaos during the early morning rituals on Saturday. This led to a delay in the fireworks, the main attraction of the festival, by over four hours, which finally commenced at 7 AM, ultimately dulling the excitement surrounding the fireworks. According to reports, police are accused of restricting devotees’ entry, obstructing parasols (LED-lit canopies of Lord Ram and others), manhandling devotees, and imposing severe restrictions on the festivities.

It was alleged that City Police Commissioner Ankit Asokan was directly in front of the festivalgoers. He allegedly blocked the entry of parasols and shouted at the devotees when they were coming to the Math. The parasols of the elephants were brought to the temple for ritualistic change, but the police commissioner didn’t let them to be carried inside the premises. However, later they were allowed inside after protests by the devotees. It is also alleged that the devotees were manhandled and pushed aside by lathis. Reportedly, an altercation also broke out between the police and Devaswom officials inside the temple.

According to a report in The Hindu, the row erupted after the police stopped people from entering the Thekkinkadu maidan by using barricades during the Madathil Varavu procession (night Pooram) around 11 p.m. Subsequently, minor clashes took place between the police and the people. 

The ugly scenes forced the Thiruvambadi Devaswom to call off the Pooram in protest against police restrictions and it switched off the lights at its ‘Poora Panthal’ at Naikanal and Naduvilal junction. Incidentally, this undesirable incident happened for the first time in the glorious history of this popular festival. 

Political slugfest, CM assures ‘serious probe’

Following the row, the Bharatiya Janata Party came down heavily against the Kerala government stressing that there was a conspiracy behind the unwanted restrictions in the conduct of the Pooram to destroy the festival. 

BJP state vice-president B Gopalakrishnan said that there was a hidden agenda to sabotage the Pooram. 

He said, “There is a conspiracy behind the police dominance in the festival ground and in the lathi charge that happened at night. Every year during Thrissur Pooram, there will be issues regarding either elephants or fireworks displays. All such attempts are to destroy the festival.” 

He added, “The latest incident is also a part of such deliberate attempts. When such crisis happened amid Pooram, neither the Devaswom Minister nor Revenue Minister was there to sort it out.” 

The BJP leader pointed out that neither MLA nor MP of Thrissur stood with the Thiruvambady devaswom when they faced the issue. 

Meanwhile, on Sunday (21st April), Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said a serious probe would be held to probe the complaints raised by temple management and members of the public who attended the recently held Thrissur Pooram. 

While addressing the press, Vijayan argued that the government machinery had limitations for interfering during election time, but promised an inquiry by the DGP.

He said, “It should be seriously probed what had happened on the Pooram day. A complaint sent by the Devaswom authorities is there…The Director General of Police has been directed to carry out a probe into the incidents and submit a report.”

It is pertinent to note that after the temple officials had stopped the ceremonies, the BJP candidate from Thrissur Suresh Gopi along with leaders of some other parties rushed to Thiruvambady Devaswom’s office. Gopi and others held discussions with the committee members after which the Revenue Minister K Rajan and District Collector V R Krishna Teja also intervened. They urged the Devaswom to complete the ceremonies and carry out the fireworks.

Thiruvambady Devaswom president Sundar Menon said the police used barricades wherever possible and restricted easy movement of the people, dampening the spirit of Thrissur Pooram.

Former WWE champion Dalip Singh Rana who is famed by his ring name ‘The Great Khali’ on Sunday termed Rahul Gandhi a ‘jumla’ and said that the Congress leader has turned out to be a “total failure.”

The retired professional wrestler who had joined the BJP before the last Assembly elections in Punjab told ANI, “Rahul Gandhi has himself become a ‘jumla’. He has no idea what to do as he has failed so many times …”

“When he totally failed, the Congress appointed (Mallikarjun) Kharge as the party president,” the former wrestler said.

“He further added that since Rahul had accepted defeat so Kharge has been brought forward as Rahul Gandhi has failed and is out of the race,” Rana said.

Rana is supporting Kailash Choudhary, the sitting MP from Barmer, Jaisalmer who is pitted against Congress candidate Ummeda Ram Beniwal and independent Ravindra Singh Bhati in this Lok Sabha election, the results of which will be declared on June 4.

“He (Chaudhary) has won in the past and will win again… There will be development when BJP will form government at Central as well as state level and I believe that BJP will form government at both levels… Vote for Kailash Chowdhury so that whatever work is left for Barmer, that can be completed,” the WWE wrestler said.

‘The Great Khali’ has also hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his good work.

“What PM Modi has done, the rich won’t get it. What the rich and Congress leaders understand is that only if the money is transferred to their account, then only they accept the fact that the work has been done… PM Modi has done things that people wouldn’t have thought about, what he has done can only be done by someone who has seen poverty..,” he said.

“He did work beyond our thinking… Earlier, women used to wait for evening and used to go to the fields, but he (PM Narendra Modi) constructed toilets in every household. Earlier, the poor didn’t even think of having a cylinder, but he made sure to make cylinders available in each and every household. He made it possible for the poor to have bank accounts. Nobody could have thought about that. Earlier, the money used to reach the bank accounts of the village head but now, the money directly reaches the bank account of the poor people under the Jan Dhan Yojana.”

Earlier, Rajasthan’s BJP President CP Joshi took a jibe at Congress and said that the BJP in the past 10 years has done more work than Congress’ 50 years and this will be the base of BJP’s victory.

Joshi affirmed that the people of Rajasthan are with PM Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha elections, because of the work done by BJP in the last 10 years for farmers, poor, women and youth. He said, “I ask the Congress to bring their record of 50 years… We have done more work in the last 10 years compared to the Congress’ 50 years and this will be the base of our victory.”

Polling for 12 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan concluded on April 19, while the remaining 13 seats will be polled in the second phase on April 26.

Bihar police arrest Rudra Pratap Kushwaha, who threatened to kill Brahmins, insulted Lord Ram and compared Kangana Ranaut to a ‘prostitute’

On Friday (19th April), Bihar’s Vaishali Police arrested notorious local politician Rudra Pratap Kushwaha for his objectionable speeches against Brahmins and Lord Ram on social media.

Taking to X, the Vaishali police confirmed his arrest and shared details about the case. Notably, the police had registered a case on 13th April after analysing his controversial and objectionable speeches on social media.

The accused has been booked under Sections 188, 171(F), 295, 500, 504 of IPC, and Section 67 of the IT Act 2000. 

The Vaishali Police stated that a special team led by the Superintendent of Police, Vaishali arrested Rudra Pratap Kushwatha from Pangaul Mohalla, Hajipur based on human intelligence and technical research by the special team. Subsequently, he was sent to judicial custody.

The FIR is based on the statement of Rajesh Sharan, the Inspector cum SHO of Hajipur Town Police Station district Vaishali recorded on 13th April 2024. 

The FIR states, “I, Police Inspector Rajesh Sharan, am currently posted as Police Inspector cum Station Head in Hajipur Nagar police station under Vaishali district. Today on 13.04.24 at 10.00 am in the city police station, I am recording a self-written statement that information was received from the media cell of the office of the Superintendent of Police that a video of an objectionable speech by a person named Rudra Pratap Kuswaha is going viral. Upon verification and investigation in this regard, it was found that the mobile number 76XXXXX171 was being used by a person named Rudra Pratap Kushwaha. He is a resident of Upper Ramgarh, Kaimur, Bhabua.” 

It adds, “He is seen speaking in an agitated manner on some private channels on YouTube, objectionable things against a particular class and caste and against the Ram Mandir, due to which it went viral on the special media in Hajipur as well. It has become a topic of discussion among many people. With such acts, on the one hand, the Model Code of Conduct is clearly being violated at the time of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, while on the other hand, people of a particular class and caste are being instigated against another particular class/caste. The religious sentiments of people of a particular class have also been strongly affected. The objectionable video is attached in the pen drive.”

Provoked SC-STs to chase away and kill Brahmins: Controversial past of Rudra Pratap Kushwaha

It is pertinent to note that controversial local ‘politician’ Rudra Pratap Kushwaha has repeatedly targeted Hindu deities, Hindu festivals and upper caste Hindus especially Brahmins in his various speeches, under the guise of propagating Ambedkarite thoughts.

Recently, on 4th April, a video of Rudra Pratap Kushwaha of the Yuva Vichar Manch of Bihar went viral on social media. In this video, he spewed venom against Brahmins. He appealed to the SCs and STs in the country to chase away the 2 percent Brahmins in the country and kill them all. His remarks attracted fierce criticism on social media.

In the viral video, Rudra Pratap Kushwaha said, “Now, there will not be any Hindu-Muslim riot in the country. Rather, there will be a backward versus forward riot in the country. Rudra Pratap Kushwaha will do it to chase you people away from this land of Bharat. You have made a joke out of it. No Hindu is in danger. No Muslim is in danger. Neither Geeta nor the Quran is in danger. Remove the glasses of religion from your eyes and see. You will find that the entire Hindustan is under threat because of these 2 percent Brahmins. Chase away these 2 percent Brahmins and kill them. Muslims are our brothers.”

In another YouTube video, he was also seen inciting SC and ST youths to purposefully lure and marry Brahmin girls to fight against the so-called ‘Brahminism’. He also said that he would fight all the legal cases of those youths if they did so. He also termed these marriages as a means to ‘purify’ the Brahmin girls.

In a deranging targeting of Hindu Dharma, he also questioned the powers of Lord Shiva. He also showed his hatred for the Ram Mandir. To demean religion, Rudra Pratap Kushwaha says that due to religion, the backward class could not study, and in such a situation, he will work to set this religion on fire.

Kushwaha also questioned the gods and goddesses of Hindus, saying, “These deities including Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, they are all called the masters of the universe; If these people are the masters of the universe, then why were they born in India, not in China and Japan?”

In another viral video, he can be heard, deranging Shri Ram asking, “Why did Ram not go to Canada and America? Was he afraid?”

A week earlier on 14th April 2024, he made a deranging attack on BJP and its Mandi candidate Kangana Ranaut. He said, “A prostitute has been given a ticket in Mandi. This BJP is sending such a woman to the Parliament House to fool the backward society and they will open a brothel there in the parliament. They will show such a woman to other MPs and transfer their votes in exchange. These people have a similar history right from the beginning. We will request Modi ji and Shah ji to give Sunny Leone the ministry of women and youth.”

Strikingly, Rudra Pratap Kushwaha is the national president of the Yuva Vichar Manch organisation. He frequently makes statements targeting Brahmins. He has been known to label Dalits supporting Brahmins as illegitimate offspring of Brahmins. Kushwaha suggests that Dalits should regard Muslims as brothers due to the historical significance of the Mughal dynasty. He advocates for the elimination and expulsion of Brahmins. Furthermore, he implies that those who stand by Brahmins lack strength and masculinity.

On 21st April, a girl from the Valmiki community, Rohini Ghavari, levelled serious allegations against Bhim Army’s chief Chandrashekhar Azad ‘Ravan’. Ghavari, who is pursuing PhD in Switzerland, accused Chandrashekhar of playing with the lives of many girls. Notably, Ghavari has already revealed that she was in a relationship with Chandrashekhar. She is the daughter of a sanitation worker from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Chandrashekhar is contesting Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from Nagina constituency, Uttar Pradesh.

Ghavari released a video of herself on a video call with Chandrashekhar where he was seen crying. In the post, she said that he showed “fake tears” and forced many girls to trust him. According to her, it was her mistake to consider Ravan a true revolutionary and stand with him. She alleged that Chandrashekhar had proved her false in front of the society for which she was considering staying abroad.

She added that she has paid the price of being a truthful girl and only she can understand the pain she went through while living alone in a foreign country. She said, “Now I will never be able to trust any man in life, so I am very far from things like marriage and relationships. Now my remaining life is dedicated to the country and society. I am tired of enduring false allegations, whenever I do something good, people start accusing me. I am getting a good punishment for being a girl. As the whole society is becoming foolish, I have also become one. I had sacrificed with the thought that we would both do something good for society by staying together.”

Ghavari alleged that Chandrashekhar Azad ‘Ravan’ played with the honour of many girls by hiding his marriage. She said that even a “woman” supported him in this because of the crores of rupees he was receiving for his “movement”. She added that if his reality had been made public earlier, many innocent girls’ lives would have been saved from getting ruined.

In another post, she alleged she was getting attacked for her statements. She alleged that people were accusing her of being linked to BJP/RSS and taking money [for making statements]. She further questioned why she was not getting support from the men of her community. She said, “Don’t say anything before elections. Don’t say anything after elections. Just keep quiet. Just because he is the leader of the community”. She added, “Why can’t you see my pain? Why am I being portrayed as wrong?”

Who is Rohini Ghavari?

Rohini Ghavari is a girl from the Valmiki community pursuing PhD in Switzerland. Recently, she made a post explaining how different people, including teachers, professors and her friend from the Brahmin community helped her achieve what she has achieved to date. She said her teacher Sharma Sir informed her about the scholarship which made it possible for her to go to Switzerland for a PhD. Furthermore, her friend in Switzerland who is also from the Brahmin community never let her feel alone. She then mentioned a Pandit uncle who informed her about the opportunity to speak at the UN.

In Geneva, Ghavari not only spread awareness about education but also raised a voice for the Dalit community. The Indian government awarded her a scholarship of Rs 1 crore for her studies. While foreign institutions portray India in a wrong way, Ghavari did her best to expose the anti-India elements by informing how Dalit students study in foreign universities with the help of the Indian government.
