Woman accused of stealing Nancy Pelosi’s laptop during Capitol Hill Riots arrested, suspected of trying to sell it to Russians: Details

0

The woman believed to be responsible for stealing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s laptop during the storming of Capitol Hill on the 6th of January has been arrested. The woman, identified as one Riley June Williams, was arrested on Monday from the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Riley June Williams has been charged with knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol Hill grounds.

The FBI said in a court filing on Sunday that they were informed by a witness claiming to be her former ‘romantic partner’ that Williams “intended to send the computer device to a friend in Russia, who then planned to sell the device to SVR, Russia’s foreign intelligence service.”

An affidavit filed by an FBI agent noted, “[The witness] also claimed to have spoken to friends of Williams, who showed [the witness] a video of Williams taking a laptop computer or hard drive from Speaker Pelosi’s office. [The witness] stated that Williams intended to send the computer device to a friend in Russia, who then planned to sell the device to SVR, Russia’s foreign intelligence service.”

However, the transfer does not appear to have taken place and Riley June Williams still has the laptop or has destroyed it. It is alleged that she can be seen multiple times in a video that was posted to YouTube. Law enforcement officials showed the video to her mother who positively identified her. Her mother told the Harrisburg Police that she had developed a sudden interest in ‘far right message boards’.

Apart from Nancy Pelosi’s laptop, multiple other documents and electronics were stolen by protesters as well, raising national security concerns. The protesters had managed to breach premises and enter Pelosi’s office during the storming of Capitol Hill. Numerous arrests have been made in connection to the incident.

‘Comedian’ uses Kashmiri Pandit genocide to peddle propaganda about Munawar Faruqui

Comedian Samay Raina today flippantly cited the 31st anniversary of the Kashmiri Pandit genocide to rant against the Indian judicial system for the continued incarceration of ‘comedian’ Munawar Faruqui, who was arrested earlier this month for allegedly making indecent remarks against Hindu gods, the Godhra incident and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Samay Raina, ostensibly a Kashmiri Pandit, tweeted, “Today marks 31 years of the Kashmiri Pandit genocide. How I wish I could go back to my homeland, Kashmir where I would not have the internet to read about the death of our judicial system.”

Samay Raina, himself being a Kashmiri Pandit, felt no qualms in mentioning the tragic Kashmiri Pandit exodus, to peddle his propaganda against the arrest of ‘comedian’ Munawar Faruqui. About 31 years back, a wave of terror was unleashed against the Kashmiri Pandits in the valley, with rabid Muslim mobs chasing them out of their homes and forcing them to leave Kashmir. Kashmiri Pandits were made to witness a chaotic, macabre night in the form of blaring threats and slogans, asking them to flee their homeland, convert or die.

By linking the Kashmiri Pandits exodus to the arrest of Munawar Faruqui, Raina seems to trivialise and understate the horrors endured by the beleaguered Kashmiri Pandits community, who were reduced to living like refugees in their own country. On the contrary, Faruqui has been routinely making provocative and deplorable remarks against Hindu gods and Hinduism for a long time now.

Faruqui and 4 others arrested for indecent remarks on Hindu gods

Faruqui and four other persons identified as Edwin Anthony, Prakhar Vyas, Priyam Vyas and Nalin Yadav were arrested for allegedly mocking Hindu Gods in a stand-up comedy show in Indore based on the complaint of Eklavya Singh Gaur, an activist and the chief of Hindu Rakshak Sangathan.

They were booked under IPC sections 295-A (outraging religious feelings), 269 (unlawful or negligent act likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life) and other relevant provisions. Section 269 was invoked for allegedly ignoring COVID-19 safety protocol. Faruqui was sent to judicial custody till January 13 which was later extended to January 27.

UP Police seeks Munawar Faruqui’s custody for a complaint filed against him in April 2020

Recently, the Uttar Pradesh police had submitted a production warrant against the embattled ‘comedian’ for a case registered against him in April last year. Prayagraj police reached Indore and submitted the production warrant in from of the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) court in Indore and Indore Central Jail, where Faruqui is currently lodged for the last two weeks.

In 2020, a video of Faruqui went viral in which he was seen mocking Hindu Gods and the Godhra riots of 2002. Later, in April 2020, a case was filed against him by advocate Ashutosh Mishra under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion), 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion) and section 65 and 66 IT Act, 2008.

One more case was filed against him by one Shivam Rawat, the founder of Pen of Dharma. He emphasised how the comments made by Faruqui hurt the sentiments of millions of Hindus, including him. Rawat has stated how Faruqui had used Bollywood songs to make crass, disrespectful remarks on Hindu gods and belief systems. Prayagraj Police has now sought custody of Faruqui in this case.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee says she will ‘send people to disturb BJP meetings’: Here is what happened

The race to West Bengal’s upcoming Assembly election is heating up the political war of words between the political parties. On January 19, Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee claimed that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is sending its workers to Trinamool Congress’s (TMC) meeting create a disturbance. She further threatened that she would send some people to disturb meetings that would be held by BJP and CPM.

While addressing a rally in Purulia, she said, “I have been seeing for a few days that some people are being sent by BJP to create disturbance in our meeting. Now I will send some people to disturb BJP, CPM meetings.”

Mamata Banerjee calls BJP more dangerous than Maoists

TMC chief mentioned the defection of her party’s leaders to BJP and said that those who want to join BJP could leave. “Politics is a solemn ideology, philosophy; one can change clothes daily but not ideologies,” she added. She also added that BJP is far more dangerous than Maoists, though, she did not really say why she thinks so, perhaps because the statement had no justification, to begin with.

Banerjee will contest the Assembly election from Nandigram

Opening a war front against ex-TMC leader Suvendu Adhikari who joined BJP recently, Mamata Banerjee declared on January 18 that she would contest election from Nandigram. She said, “Nandigram is my big sister, Bhawanipore is my younger sister… I will fight from both if possible. In case I am unable to contest from Bhawanipore, someone else would contest.” It has to be noted that Adhikari has a stronghold in Nandigram.

Replying to the challenge, Adhikari said, “If I can’t defeat her by half lakh votes, I will quit politics.” Adhikari had marked an emphatic win from the Nandigram seat in the 2016 state election as a TMC candidate.

Assembly elections in West Bengal are due in April-May this year.

Padma Shri awardee UK MP moves motion to commemorate 31st anniversary of the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits

On Monday, Conservative MP Bob Blackman tabled a motion in the UK Parliament, commemorating the 31st anniversary of the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley. Bob Blackman is a Conservative Party politician and a member of the UK Parliament from Harrow East constituency.

The motion expressed deep sadness over the violence perpetrated by the cross-border Islamic terrorists in January 1990 against the Kashmiri Pandit community. Bob Blackman, the primary sponsor of the motion, condemned the desecration of the holy sites that were vandalised and desecrated during the genocide. He expressed his condolences with the families of Kashmiri Pandits, who were mercilessly killed, raped, injured during the exodus.

The motion reiterated that families of Kashmiri Pandits had to flee their homeland to avoid persecution at the hands of the Islamists. The text further read, “(The motion) commends the resilience and courage shown by the members of Kashmiri Pandit community who survived this gruesome ethnic genocide and who did not resort to taking up arms but instead pursued education and aspiration.”

Motion in UK parliament wants justice for Kashmiri Pandits

Denouncing the cross-border terrorism, the motion further emphasised that it is the responsibility of individual nations and the international community at large to prevent crimes against humanity, as witnessed in the case of Kashmiri Hindus.

“(The motion) urges the Government of India to fulfil its long-standing international commitment to recognise and acknowledge the worst form of genocide of Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir and enact the proposed Panun Kashmir Genocide Crime Punishment and Atrocities Prevention Bill in the Indian Parliament, therefore delivering the long awaited justice for the Kashmiri Pandits in exile,” the motion text concluded.

Conservative Party MP supports abrogation of Article 370

Known as the ‘Friend of India’, Bob Blackman is a strong supporter of India in the Kashmir issue and also talks frequently about the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus. He often exposes Pakistan sponsored terror and was felicitated with the Padma Shri Award in January 2020.

In a blog dated August 12, 2019, Bob Blackman wrote, “I have long promoted the clear position that the entirety of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India which was determined in 1947 with independence being given to India.”

“The temporary provisions of article 370 are an anomaly and have held back the development of the regional economy for too long. The decision by the Indian government to revoke article 370 of the Indian constitution is therefore correct and amends historical wrongs,” he further added.

Canadian MP calls for resettlement of Kashmiri pandits

Ahead of the 31st anniversary of the genocide and exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, Canadian Conservative MP Bob Saroya has extended his full support to the Modi government for the resettlement and rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley. While reiterating his support to the Modi government, he concluded, ” I ask the international community to take effective measures to prevent this and similar types of crimes against humanity. I support the Government of India plans to help Kashmiri Hindus to return safely back to their homes”.

Food subsidy at Parliament canteen has been completely removed: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla

Like the previous year, this time too, the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla announced on Tuesday that the food subsidy made available to the MPs and others in the Parliament canteen has been completely done away with, which means that the MPs would have to buy food at the full rate. The information was provided by Om Birla while he was addressing media ahead of the forthcoming Budget session of the Parliament.

The Northern Railway runs canteens at Parliament House, Parliament House Annexe, Parliament House Reception and Parliament House Library Building. The food at canteens inside Parliament premises is provided at lower rates to MPs, officials and visitors.

Last year too, the Members of Parliament, by a consensus, had decided to do away with food subsidy at Parliament canteen. Then to the decision was taken after a suggestion from Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

According to reports, Parliament canteen was subsidised to the extent of 80 per cent of its cost in 2015. With this decision, the Parliament secretariat was expected to save Rs 17 crores annually, reports had said. Last year, the Northern Railway had demanded Rs 16.43 crores from the Lok Sabha Secretariat as the cost for running four canteens in Parliament. The amount which Northern Railway claimed was towards subsidy and establishment cost.

Meanwhile, speaking about the time schedule of how Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will function in the upcoming session, Om Birla said: “Amid COVID-19 pandemic, Budget Session will commence from January 29. Rajya Sabha will sit from 9 am to 2 pm and Lok Sabha will sit be from 4 pm to 9 pm. Zero Hour and Question Hour will be held. MPs have been requested to undergo an RT-PCR test.”

Rahul Gandhi lies to claim PM Modi has no geopolitical understanding, Surjewala declares himself Joe Biden

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who has a knack of trotting out lies nonchalantly, today lied again while addressing reporters at a press conference. This time around, the former Congress President resorted to spreading misinformation about PM Modi’s alleged endorsement of President Trump in the run-up to the 2020 US Presidential elections.

When asked what does he have to speak on PM Modi’s silence on farmers but comment on Capitol Hill siege, Rahul Gandhi held up Randeep Surjewala’s hand, saying, “I remember Narendra Modi holding up Trump’s hand, saying Abki Baar Trump Sarkar.”

Surjewala subsequently adds, “I am not Trump, I am Biden.”

The Wayanad MP further elaborated, “The point is whether it is Trump or Joe Biden, as a Prime Minister of the country, you do not do something like this(endorsing Trump). By doing this, you are disrespecting the people of the United States. It is their choice and not your choice. So, it is a lack of understanding of fundamentals and now, of course, Trump has lost.”

Did PM Modi endorse Donald Trump ahead of the US Presidential Elections? Fact Check:

Contrary to the claims made by Rahul Gandhi stating that PM Modi had endorsed Donald Trump for the US Presidential elections, in reality, he had never endorsed or tried to interfere in the 2020 US elections. The assertion made by Rahul Gandhi during the press conference is misleading as PM Modi was only referring to a campaign run by Donald Trump campaign team prior to the 2016 US Presidential elections.

At the mega ‘Howdy Modi’ event held in Houston in Texas in September last year, Prime Minister Modi had reminded the audience as to how during the 2016 US Presidential campaigning, Donald Trump had said ‘Abki Baar Trump Sarkar’ while appealing to the Indian diaspora in the US.

Here is the full video of the speech, where PM Modi refers to the Trump campaign in 2016 US Presidential elections.

PM Modi said, “We in India have connected well with President Trump, the words of candidate Trump, ‘Abki baar Trump sarkar’, rang loud and clear”. In October 2016, during the US Presidential election campaign, the then Presidential candidate Trump had said that the Indian and Hindu community in the US will have a ‘friend’ in the White House. Then, using Prime Minister Modi’s 2014 popular election slogan “Abki baar, Modi Sarkar”, Donald Trump had said, “Abki baar, Trump Sarkar” (This time, it will be a Trump government).

Rahul Gandhi lies about China settling a village in India’s Arunachal Pradesh

But lying about PM Modi has become the second nature of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is trying desperately to mount a credible opposition against the Prime Minister. Earlier today, Rahul Gandhi posted a tweet, taking a dig at the Prime Minister for allowing the construction of a village by China on the Indian land in Arunachal Pradesh. Rahul tweeted, “Main desh nahin jhukne dunga(I won’t let the country down)”, a popular refrain used by PM Modi to reiterate his commitment for the country.

But, as has often been the case with Rahul Gandhi, the Wayanad MP did not bother to verify the facts before attacking PM Modi. In reality, China had built a village on the land that was occupied by them several decades ago when Jawaharlal Nehru was India’s PM.

In 1959, Chinese forces at Longju ran overrun an Indian Army post along the border with Arunachal Pradesh. Since then, the region has been under the illegal occupation of China. India has never been able to preoccupy the post and China has been steadily shoring up infrastructure in the region.

Uttar Pradesh police busts sex-trafficking racket, arrests Aftab who lures, rapes and sells victims after forced conversion to Islam

0

The Uttar Pradesh Police have rescued two Hindu girls, aged 15 and 22 years, hailing from Basti district, from a possible human trafficking ring. Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested one Aftab, a resident of Balrampur district in Uttar Pradesh in connection with the case and are in the lookout for his gang members who are reportedly absconding.

The case came to the fore after one of the victim’s brother approached the Basti police station with a missing complaint.

Uttar Pradesh police reveal Aftab’s gang’s modus operandi

Explaining Aftab’s gang’s modus operandi, the police said that they firstly entrap Hindu girls, mostly minors, by implicating them into a relationship or by promising to provide them with a job. They then kidnap them, sexually assault them, and sell them to their Muslim buyers after forcefully converting them to Islam.

According to the police, Aftab did exactly the same, with these two victims also. He kidnapped the two Hindu girls (aged 15 and 22) and kept them locked in a rented flat in Mewana city in Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh. It is believed that before getting the victims to Mawana, Aftab had kept them confined in a rented flat in Mathura. The police revealed that Aftab, who had sexually exploited the victims on several occasions, had forcefully converted them to Islam and was on the verge of selling them off when the police, acting on a tip-off, rescued the girls and arrested the accused.

During interrogation, Aftab confessed before the police, that they target Hindu girls, mostly minors since they are soft targets. He said that he lured the two victims by promising to provide them with a job. Once the girls fell prey, he kidnapped them, raped them, converted and sold them to his customers.

The police said that many other Muslim youths who were a part of Aftab’s gang, have until now, tortured many vulnerable Hindu girls, mostly minors and sold them to their Muslim buyers.

The police said that Aftab and his accomplice had hired many flats in the Western fringe of Uttar Pradesh for this purpose. The police are now tracing the falt owners to get more details about this purported sex-trafficking gang.

The paper-tigers of the Indian comedy circus: How mocking Hindus is a free hit but other faiths is a no-go

Earlier this month, the so-called comedian Munawar Faruqui, who has an inveterate habit of mocking Hindus and their beliefs, was arrested by the Indore police for passing indecent remarks on the Hindu Gods while performing a gig.

A complaint was filed against the comedian after which the police arrested him, along with four others for hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus. According to the complaint, Faruqui had made inappropriate remarks against Hindu gods, the Godhra incident and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

A similar case was filed against him in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly making objectionable comments against Hindu deities and Uttar Pradesh police team had reached Indore yesterday to take the comedian to Allahabad. The move came days after Faruqui moved the Madhya Pradesh High Court seeking bail.

This is not the first time that Munawar has been accused of mocking Hindu deities and Hinduism. During a show in April last year, Munawar Faruqui mocked the 2002 Godhra carnage where 58 Hindus returning from Ayodhya were burnt alive by a Muslim mob. In a part of the clip that had gone viral on social media, one can hear him refer to the carnage as a fictional film ‘directed’ by Amit Shah and ‘produced’ by RSS.

The Gujarat-based stand-up comedian has also made derogatory remarks on Lord Ram and Sita in April 2020 after which a police complaint was lodged against him with the Mumbai Police. Munawar’s history suggests that he is incorrigible in making unflattering jokes and comments on Hindu Gods.

Mocking Hindus and their faith is par for the course for the Indian stand-up comedians

Well, Munawar is not the only ‘comedian’ who has felt no compunction in humiliating Hindus and hurting their sentiments by making crude and appalling jokes on their traditions and religions. Several other ‘comedians’ have unapologetically poked fun at Hindu cultural icons and Gods under the guise of ‘freedom of artistic creativity’.

For a long time now, mocking Hindus, Hindu Gods and Goddesses and Hinduism has become a hallmark of the Indian stand-up comedy fraternity. Compensating their otherwise bland performances with subtle and sometimes outright jibes on Hindu deities and Hinduism is par for the course for these set of unfunny comedians.

Be it the unfunny buffoons of the East India Comedy such as Sahil Shah, Azeem Banatwalla or the vile clowns of the ‘All India Bakchod’, or the perverse jokers of the ‘Aisi Taisi Democracy’, they have shown no restraints in mocking the religion of the majority and insulting the historical figures revered by them.

Cracking jokes at faiths other than Hinduism is a forbidden act

However, this is not the case with the Abrahamic faiths. The ‘comedians’ have regarded Hinduism and the pantheon of its Gods and Goddesses as fair game for their insulting jokes. But, the same indignity is not meted out to Christianity and Islam. The comedians have patently abstained from mocking the Abrahamic faiths.

Even on rare occasions when the ‘comedians’ dared to mock the Abrahamic faiths, a grovelling apology followed almost immediately. The All India Bakchod, one of the pioneers of the Indian stand-up comedy, proffered an obsequious apology to the Catholic Church for jokes it made during its 20 December 2015 “roast” of Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.

In a note uploaded on Facebook, the group described its meeting with the meeting with Bishop Agnelo Gracias, the Auxiliary Bishop of Bombay, where the members accepted they had offended the religious sentiments of the Christians and that while they were free to make these jokes, the community, in turn, had the right to be offended by their remarks.

Propagandist masquerading as comedian Kunal Kamra had to deactivate his Twitter account temporarily when netizens dredged up his old tweets in which he was seen mocking Muslims. According to the reports, Kamra tried to purge his offensive tweets but by then netizens had already taken screenshots of them. Only after the outrage died down, did Kamra restore his account and resume peddling filth yet again, but this time around, he remained cautious of not hurting the Muslim sentiments.

More recently, ‘comedian’ Agrima Joshua had tendered a crawling apology for her disparaging remarks on the Shivaji Memorial in the Arabian sea. However, the apology was not directed at the people who were hurt by her remarks but to the political parties ruling Maharashtra, perhaps to mollify them and prevent them from taking any coercive action against her.

In the video clip that had gone viral then, the comic could be heard mocking the Shiv Smarak, the memorial dedicated to the legendary Hindu monarch Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Her video sparked a massive furore, with people criticising her for insulting the Maratha icon. Joshua promptly issued a video apology to Congress, Shiv Sena and NCP, but pinned the blame on the BJP for setting off legions of trolls against her.

Woke activism of comedians dries up when it comes to mocking Abrahamic faiths

Comedians who fancy themselves as some sort of bohemian crusaders or revolutionaries often put forth meretricious arguments that it is their freedom of artistic creativity through which they come up with such jokes. At times, these comedians brand Hindus as intolerant and hateful for taking offence on jokes that are veritably bad and provocative.

On several other occasions, ‘comedians’ try to undermine Hindus and Hinduism by linking their outrage to a political party, which is always the BJP, because it is the only party that is perceived to protect the Hindu interests. By linking it to politics, they attempt to discredit the backlash on their anti-Hindu jokes and deflect the blame on the victims. They also cite woke slogans of ‘speaking truth to power’, ‘fascism’, ‘bigotry’ and several others to justify their acts while painting the victims as oppressors.

But when it comes to mocking Abrahamic faiths such as Christianity and Islam, all the woke activism of these so-called comedians dries up. On the contrary, the same comedians, who unabashedly mock and insult Hindu Gods and Hinduism, not only steer clear of making fun of Islam and Christianity but also have the gall of sermonising others on not hurting the sensitivity of minorities.

In the Indian stand-up comedy fraternity, it is kosher and acceptable to continue mocking and insulting Hindus, their beliefs and their Gods but cracking jokes on Islam and Christianity is a strictly forbidden zone, one wherein there is no “artistic freedom” or “individual rights”.

Canadian Politicians nominate Khalistani org Khalsa Aid for Nobel Peace Prize: Details

A letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, dated January 14, states, “Khalsa Aid became the first-ever cross-border international humanitarian aid organization based on the Sikh principle of ‘recognizing the whole human race as one’. Founded by Ravinder (Ravi) Singh, who was struck by the plight of the refugees in Kosovo in 1999, the charity has been providing support around the world to victims of natural and man-made disasters such as floods, earthquakes, famine, and war for over 20 years. They have been able to provide crucial aid to millions of people around the world.”

The letter said, “As the Member of Parliament for Edmonton Mill Woods in the Parliament of Canada, I am honored to nominate Khalsa Aid for the Nobel Peace Prize, with support from the Honourable Prabmeet Singh Sarkaria, Member of Provincial Parliament for Brampton South and Mayor of Brampton, His Worship Patrick Brown. Khalsa Aid is an international NGO with the aim to provide humanitarian aid in disaster areas and civil conflict zones around the world.”

Khalsa Aid is a shady organisation that is suspected to be a front organisation for the Khalistani outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). The NIA had registered a case in this regard in December 2012, alleging that Khalsa Aid was suspected to be one of the organisations linked to the BKI funding the Indian BKI members to commit terror acts in the country.

Recently, Khalsa Aid had set up massage centers at the farmers’ protests in makeshift spaces at the Singhu border raising suspicions that the protests might be a well-thought-out conspiracy by the secessionists to revive Khalistani sentiments by engendering resentment among people against the Modi government.

Babbar Khalsa intends to create an independent Sikh state in India through violent means and is responsible for several terror attacks in the country resulting in many civilian deaths. The Trump administration had declared BKI a threat to American interests.

The NIA had summoned the organisation recently for questioning in connection with the ‘Sikhs For Justice Referendum’ case.

Brisbane Test: Stadium reverberates with chants of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, Australian coach says can’t underestimate Indians

The historic victory of Indian cricket team over the Australian side in the latter’s stronghold at Gabba cricket stadium in Brisbane has mesmerised Indians fans and cricket lovers across the globe. Breaking the previously held record of 32 years, India chased down the mammoth target of 328 runs with 3 wickets to spare and retained the Border-Gavaskar trophy.

When Indian skipper Ajinkya Rahane began his address during the post-match presentation on the 5th day of the Brisbane Test, the Indian fans could not help but raise slogans of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ (All hail Mother India) in unison. The loud cheer and the subsequent sloganeering reverberated in the stadium that even the audience, watching the live telecast, had a ‘goosebump’ moment.

In an earlier video, an Australian fan was seen prompting the crowd on the 4th Day to chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’.

Don’t underestimate Indians, says Australian coach Justin Langer

Not only that, the current Australian cricket coach and former opening batsman Justin Langer also seemed to be in awe of India’s superlative performance, not just in the Brisbane Test, but throughout the Test campaign. He said, “First, you cannot take anything for granted. And never ever underestimate the Indians.”

While summing up the masterclass from a predominantly inexperienced Indian lineup, Langer added, “There are 1.5 billion Indians. And if you play in that first 11, then, you are going to be really tough… I cannot compliment India enough. After the first Test match, where we got them out in 3 days for 36 runs, the fightback from them is amazing. Sometimes there are big lessons for us too. You don’t take anything for granted.”

The heroics of the Indian team in Border Gavaskar Trophy

When the Indian cricket team began its tour of Australia in November last year, it would have never imagined that the team would eventually be marred with injuries. As India went into the fourth and final Test match against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Friday, the team was devoid of star players.

With experienced bowlers such as Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and RS Ashwin still recovering from injuries, India desperately needed the 29-year-old yorker specialist T Natarajan to come to the team’s rescue. Be it the bowling masterclass of T Natarajan or an all-round batting performance from Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar in the 1st innings, the inexperience Indian team came together brilliantly to dash Australian hopes in the final day of the series.

With this victory, India has reached the top spot of the ICC Test Championship ratings.
