If we talk about Kashmir Hindus exodus, we are labeled Islamophobe: DU student who was shouted down by left-wing goons

On 19th January, a Delhi University student named Deepika Sharma was heckled and shouted down by leftist goons as she tried to speak up on the atrocities on the 30th anniversary of the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from the valley. Deepika, a final year student of Hindu College, was speaking at a remembrance meet held in Hindu College under the Delhi University, when a mob of leftist students started shouting her down. Deepika had broken down facing this bullying from left-wing student activists.

OpIndia Hindi editor Ajeet Bharti talked with Deepika after the incident. She said that after joining the university she heard that students should talk about issues of the common man, as it an intellectual place. Because the voices raised at the university reach the government, gets printed. History is made here, and I have seen history can be changed here also.

When asked why she chose to talk about Kashmiri Pandits, Deepika said that the history of the exodus of Pandits is 30 years, and most people remember about 19th January in 1990 when it had reached its peaked. But people don’t know about the incidents and situations leading to it which were going on for years, neither they are taught in universities. When it comes to Kashmir Pandits or Kashmiri Hindus at large, there is silence. People don’t talk about in universities, Kashmiri Hindus are not made part of political discourse. Professors, progressive students, liberal students, intellectual students don’t talk about them.

Deepika said that people talk about the exodus, but don’t talk about the ‘why’ behind the exodus. The exodus was not communal, but the reason behind was communal. We have space to speak, but that space is limited to what is allowed by the crowd. We can’t speak what they don’t allow. If you start talking about the reasons for the exodus, start talking about stories of people who have reached Hindu college from refugee camps, then they will start labelling you. That will be communal, you will get the label of Islamophobic, you will be isolated, you will be called Hindu supremacist. They will say you should talk about free Kashmir at this, not Kashmir Hindus. You should forget about the Kashmiri Pandit issue, you should not go back in history, they will say.

Talking about the remembrance meet held at the Hindu College and reactions to other students to it, Deepika said that when started talking about organising the meet, a lot of students said that this is madness, and a large number of students will attack her like vultures if it is organised. Her well-wishers advised her against organising the remembrance meet. But she still decided to go ahead with it, and distributed posters and messages about the meet. When the posters were out, students started asking to postpone the meet, as an anti-CAA-NRC protest was already organised and posters were printed a week ago. Deepika said that it was a pre-emptive action by the leftist groups to plan protests on 20th January so that the no event can be organised to remember the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus. The exodus had happened on 19th January, the event was planned on 20th as 19th was Sunday, and no way it could be held on any other day, she said.

Deepika said that 19th January is a black day of Indian history, and there can’t be any other angle to this date. Until and unless this date becomes a part of history in university and colleges, we will keep fighting, she said.

Talking about the letter that she had started to read at the event before she was shouted by leftist goons, Deepika said that it was a letter from a former student of the college belonging to a Kashmir Hindu family who sent an open letter to be read at the event as she was out of town. Akruti Raina had written the story of her family, what they had to suffer due to the forced exodus.

When Deepika was reading the letter, few students and teachers present there had tears on their eyes hearing the traumatic story. But the left-wing students started raising slogans, calling it Islamophobia, and forced her to stop her reading it.

Deepika Sharma said that only about 5-6 students were with her, and few students had come after seeing the posters of the event. But still she went ahead with it.

Talking about the growing influence of left-wing politics among students, the student said that it has become a fashion among students to call themselves leftists. You can’t even think about calling yourself right-wing, but you can’t call yourself non-leftist also. If you are not a leftist, you will not get a chance to speak anywhere, she said.

Deepika Sharma said that she is labelled as Brahminical supremacist, Hindu supremacist, identifying her as a Brahmin. I am being labelled based on my surname, which is casteist which these same leftists claim to oppose. Left has perfected the art of controlling the mind, she said.

She also said that when left-wing students organise some political movements in the campus, the professors come and say that ‘this is your first duty as students’, while studying should be the main duty of the students. If politics and study both were going on together than it was fine, but now only politics is happening, she said.

Kerala nun-rape case: Sister Lucy says Church authorities depriving her of food, starving her to force her out of the church

0

Sister Lucy Kalapura, one of the five nuns who stood in support of the nun who accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal in a rape case, on Saturday said that she was being starved at the convent as authorities have been depriving her of food to force her out of the church.

According to the reports, the 52-year-old nun accused the authorities of denying food but she said she will remain at Franciscan Clarist Congregation’s convent even if she was starved to death.

“I have filed three complaints against the convent authorities but police failed to take action in any of them. It seems the police are scared to take action against authorities who trouble me,” she added.

Sister Lucy is one of the five nuns who led the protests against Bishop Franco last year, who had alleged that there are efforts being carried out to sabotage evidence to protect rape-accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal.

In a bid to silence the protesting nurse, the Franciscan Clarist Congregation (FCC) had written to the family of another protesting nun – Sister Lucy Kalapurakkal to take her back home after she was expelled from the congregation. Sister Lucy Kalapurakkal had last year supported the victim nun and had demanded the arrest of rape-accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal, who headed the Roman Catholic Diocese in Jalandhar.

Shockingly, Sister Kalapura said that the harassment against her has increased after her autobiography was released in December last year. She said she had filed another petition to the Vatican questioning her expulsion and that she expected a favourable reply from the supreme head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis.

“If the police take some action, my tormentors will prevail. But they haven’t taken any action fuelling more harassment. Despite all the troubles, I will not leave the convent,” she said adding she will move the court soon.

Recently, Sister Lucy Kalappura had come out with her autobiography in which she recounted sexual abuses and aberrations prevalent in convents. The nun, who belongs to the order of Franciscan Clarist Congregation in Kerala, was hounded for raising her voice against rape-accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal, narrates her life experiences and talks about sexual abuse and harassment of nuns in the book titled ‘Karthaavinte Naamathil (In The Name of The Lord)’

Reportedly, the book reveals how Sister Lucy was a silent witness to many incidents where nuns have tried to give expression to their sexual desires. In the book, the nun reveals that many of the nuns have ‘unholy’ relationships with priests who are in authority and added that the priests encourage such relationships.

The book also writes regarding how the priests try to abuse not only nuns but also young girls as well. In the book, she writes how she heard of instances where priests have sexual relationships with nuns. Sister Lucy writes about the abuse young nuns face from priests and elder nuns. Further, she claims that homosexuality is rampant among nuns and priests.

Franco Mulakkal, Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Jalandhar, was accused of raping a 44-year-old nun at a guest house in Kuravilangad in May 2014 and subsequent sexual exploitations afterwards. The nun had registered a complaint in June 2018 and has also claimed that despite her complaints, the church took no action on the bishop.

Here are 10 incidents in last three months when journalists were attacked at ‘tolerant and secular’ gatherings

0

Left-wing cadres and Muslim mobs have attacked journalists several times, especially the ground reporters ever since the sinister propaganda of these so-called ‘liberal-secular’ brigade was exposed by these scribes.

Aided and inspired by few ‘journalists’ close to the Congress ecosystem, who often term the media in the country, that does not agree with them, as ‘Godi media’ in a reference to attack them by falsely insinuating that they are close to the Modi government, the left-wing cadres have joined hands with Muslim mobs to unleash violence in the name of fighting the ‘biased-media’.

There have been several cases of mobs especially controlled by either left-wing forces or the opposition parties targetting media professionals to silence them from exposing sinister agenda peddled by the left-wing forces and opposition parties.

Here is a list of attacks on journalists by ‘secular-liberal’ opposition voices of the country:

Deepak Chaurasia attacked by a mob at Shaheen Bagh

Consulting Editor of News Nation Deepak Chaurasia was attacked by a mob at Shaheen Bagh on Friday during their so-called ‘protest’ against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

The mob protesting at Shaheen Bagh heckled the senior journalist and eventually, Chaurasia was manhandled as he reported from the venue. The mob, who were angry on Chaurasia for reporting the truth, tried to forcefully stop him from doing so. The video journalist accompanying Chaurasia was attacked as well and the camera was destroyed.

Attack on ANI reporter Ujjwal Roy and Sarabjeet Singh by Jamia Millia Islamia Mob

ANI reporter Ujjwal Roy and Cameraperson Sarabjeet Singh were injured by the Muslim mob at Jamia Millia University campus near the university gate-1 during the anti-CAA riots in December. The mob who had gathered there to cover the protests had assaulted the two scribes in Delhi.

Asianet News Journalists attacked by Jamia Millia university mobs

Two journalists – Dinesh R and Wasim Sayeed of Asianet News, a prominent Malayalam news channel, were also attacked during the coverage of the protests by the mobs at Jamia Millia University. Wasim was seriously injured during stone-pelting and had to a hospital thereafter.

Republic correspondent Piyush Mishra abused and assaulted by a former journalist

Republic correspondent Piyush Mishra had shared a video where he was assaulted, heckled and abused by the protesting mob in the JNU campus. Mishra stated that the incident happened in the presence of Delhi police personnel.

As Mishra was reporting from JNU, Abhimanyu had heckled and pushed Mishra away. Later, Abhimanyu had threatened and abused him.

Shockingly, the goon who had attacked the Republic TV journalist was Abhimanyu Singh alias Abhimanyu Kumar works with an online portal, ‘Youth Ki Awaaz’. Singh is a journalist who has previously worked with The Hindu and The Sunday Guardian.

ABP News journalist molested by Muslim mobs of Jamia Millia Islamia

Pratima Mishra, a journalist from ABP News was heckled and molested by a mob near  Jamia Millia during the anti-CAA riots that was unleashed in December in Delhi.

The mob surrounded the lady reporter, tried to molest her and started shouting slogans as she questioned whether the anti-CAA protestors were peaceful or not. The angry mob also attacked the cameraman and abused them by saying ABP news was sold as it does not show the truth.

Muslim mobs attack and vandalise OB vans in Lucknow belonging to media houses

The Muslim mobs in Lucknow had attacked a television channel’s OB Van during the anti-CAA protests in the middle of Parivartan Chowk, Lucknow following which police used lathi-charge.

The protest has turned violent as the ground situation in Lucknow has turned violent. The ‘protestors’ had blocked the roads leading to Lucknow’s Press Club where several media crew were stationed.

Zee News lady reporter heckled and abused by JNU ‘students’

In November, the “students” from Jawaharlal University (JNU), who were ‘protesting’ against the hike in hostel price had manhandled Zee News reporters and making lewd remarks against a lady reporter.

At the beginning of the video, one can be lewd ‘students’ remarking to other students to let the reporter be so they can ‘maza lo’. When the reporter questions one the students, he says that if she stays, then “hum baitha ke mazaa lenge”. Then, amidst chants of “Zee News murdabad” and “Hindi media murdabad”, rather middle-aged students can be seen manhandling the reporter.

Then one can see students demanding that the cameras be shut off. The ‘students’ told the reporter to get out. After that, ‘students’, even joined by women, started chanting ‘bhaag Zee News bhaag’.

Republic TV reporter attacked by JNU left-wing mobs, colluded by India Today scribe

On November 19t 2019, Republic TV journalist was heckled by left-wing students inside the JNU campus led by JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh.

According to the Republic TV journalists’ own account, as was telecast on Republic TV, the question that they had asked JNUSU was whether blocking an Ambulance is the right form of protest. To this, the answer was mindless hackling and abuse.

Shockingly, Along with JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh and other JNUSU students, India Today journalist – Tanushree Pandey was also seen heckling the Republic TV reporters for asking pointed questions to the students during a press conference.

Republic TV reporter and cameraman heckled by Congress workers at Anti-CAA protests

On December 21 in Patna, Republic TV’s reporter Prakash Singh was heckled and then later manhandled by Congress leader Ashutosh Sharma and his supporters while protesting against the amended Citizenship Act in Patna.

The visuals had emerged showing that the Republic TV reporter in a heated discussion with a protestor blocking the reporter from reporting on the protest. Later it was seen that the reporter is being pushed by the crowd of protestors from the venue shouting ‘Go away from here’. The crew’s cameraman was also pushed away from the area by the same supporters.

Republic TV, India Today journalists attacked by TMC workers in West Bengal

In the run-up to 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Republic TV journalist Shantashree, who was reporting from Asansol along with their video journalist was attacked by the TMC goons with lathis and broke the window of car they were travelling.

India Today’s crew was also allegedly attacked by TMC goons and their journalist Manogya Loiwal manhandled.

Despite countless times when journalists were attacked across the country during the violence unleashed by the left-wing forces and Islamic mobs, neither senior ‘journalists’ who often have a viewpoint on every single issue nor the Editors’ Guild of India has stood in the support of their fellow colleagues.

It is rather unsurprising to see the “secular-liberal” media not standing up for their colleagues despite suffering severe attacks as the latter have exposed their sinister propaganda sponsored by the opposition parties and certain anti-government forces outside the country.

Daughter of Naseeruddin Shah, Heeba Shah, assaults two veterinary clinic staff members in Mumbai: Read why

0

Actor Naseeruddin Shah’s daughter Heeba Shah assaulted two staff members, apparently for making her wait for about 5 minutes at a veterinary clinic in Versova, Mumbai on January 16.

Naseeruddin Shah’s daughter Heeba Shah had visited the veterinary clinic along with two cats for sterilisation. On arrival, she was asked to wait for 5 minutes as another surgery was in progress. However, after about 2-3 minutes, Heeba Shah went ballistic at the staff members saying, “Don’t you know who I am? How can you make me wait for so long outside without any assistance? How come no one helped me to get my cats’ cage out of the rickshaw on arrival?”

Read: I agree with you, Naseeruddin saheb. I am scared in today’s India too

When the staff members asked Naseeruddin’s Shah’s daughter Heeba Shah to fill the consent form before admitting the cats, she became extremely abusive and started grumbling about the place and system. According to Mriidu Khosla, a trustee of The Feline Foundation where Shah had come to treat her cats, when the staff members asked Heeba to leave the premises with her cats for being unreasonably abusive with them, she physically assaulted two female members of the staff.

The incident was recorded at the CCTV present at the Foundation and the Versova police have received the footage. A non-cognisable offence under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) have been registered by the Versova police on January 17.

Brazening out the violence, Shah admitted that she did hit them but defended herself by blaming the staff members as instigators.”I did hit them, but they started it. The gatekeeper pestered me with trivial questions and didn’t allow me to enter the clinic.

I told him that I had an appointment. In the clinic when I complained about the watchman, the staff members started abusing me and speaking rudely. I was jostled by one of the women there and was told to leave the premises forthwith. This is not the way you speak to people who visit your customers. They started fighting with me. The clinic staff should be cordial with the visiting customers,” Shah said.

Sharjeel Imam, Shaheen Bagh mastermind and The Wire columnist, booked under UAPA for his ‘cut Assam from India’ statement

0

A series of videos have gone viral on social media in which Sharjeel Imam, the chief co-ordinator of Shaheen Bagh protest and a The Wire columnist was seen instigating Muslims of the country to break India by cutting of North-east from the rest of the country. In a video which has gone viral now, Sharjeel Imam, the mastermind Of Shaheen Bagh ‘protests’ and The Wire columnist, while speaking to Muslim mobs, says, “Our main aim is to permanently cut Assam and North-east India from rest of India”. Earlier, the Assam government had decided to file a sedition case against Sharjeel Imam for his statements.

“The main organizer of Shaheen Bagh protest (in Delhi), Sarjil has said that Assam should be cut off from the rest of India. State govt has taken cognizance of this seditious statement and has decided to register a case against him”, said Assam minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

After the intervention of Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Assam police has lodged an FIR against Sharjeel Imam.

“An FIR has been lodged against Sharjeel Imam for his speech and inter alia commission of an offence under Sections 13 (1) and 18 of the UA (P) ACT read with Section 153A, 153B, and 124A of Indian Penal Code at Guwahati Crime Branch Police Station,” said GP Singh, Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, at a press conference in Assam.

What is to be noted is that Sharjeel has not only been booked under sedition laws but also the stringent UAPA by the Assam police.

In his video, Sharjeel Imam had added, “If 5 lakhs Muslims are organised then we can cut the North-east from rest of India. If we cannot do permanently, at least we can cut North-east from India for months”.

Further, Sharjeel Imam who is also a columnist with The Wire and mastermind of Shaheen Bagh protests had said, “Our responsibility is to cut the Assam from India then Govt will hear our voice. If we have to help the Assam then we will have to cut the Assam from rest of India”.

In the video, Imam further says that the non-Muslim population of the country should now stand with the demands of the Muslims. Inciting Muslims by spreading fake news, Imam says that Muslims are being discriminated through the Citizenship Amendment Act and are being put into a detention camp. Shockingly, Imam continues his fear-mongering by claiming that Muslims are being killed in Bengal. “We need block Assam including the movement of Armed Forces and the supplies. Chicken Neck belongs to Muslims,” he claims.

Sharjeel Imam is the main mastermind and coordinater of the Shaheen Bagh protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Interestingly, earlier, ‘Jinnah Wali Azadi’ slogans were raised at Shaheen Bagh which also pointed towards the main agenda of these anti-CAA protests, specifically at Shaheen Bagh, is the second partition of India.

Repeat a lie until it becomes the truth: Shashi Tharoor again falsely accuses of Savarkar of being first to advocate two-nation theory

The Congress party and their associates, in recent times, appears to have come to the conclusion that their political prospects could be revived only by shifting the blame for the two-nation theory from Islamic fundamentalists to Hindu Nationalists. In their infinite wisdom, their senior leaders appear to have to the conclusion that the best course of action going forward is to absolve Islamic fundamentalists of all their sins and accuse Hindu Nationalists of crimes they are not guilty of. During the debate on the Citizenship Amendment Bill in the Rajya Sabha, Kapil Sibal had claimed that the Bill will realize “Savarkar two-nation theory”. Sitaram Yechury called the CAB a “bill of Jinnah and Savarkar’s dreams”.

Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma went a step further and claimed that the two-nation theory was never brought in by Jinnah at all. It was introduced by the Hindu Mahasabha, he said. Joining the list of ‘Secular’ luminaries attempting to rewrite history is the author of ‘Why I am a Hindu’, Shashi Tharoor.

Shashi Tharoor claimed that it was Vinayak Damodar Savarkar who called upon India to recognize Hindus and Muslims as two separate nations and he did it three years before the Muslim League passed the Lahore Resolution. The resolution that Tharoor is referring to here was passed by the Muslim League in 1940 and argued for a separate state for Muslims.

In reality, the two-nation theory had been proposed and widely popular among the elite Muslim class long before the Lahore Resolution of 1940. As early as the last quarter of the 19th century, Muslim elites were talking of Hindus and Muslims belonging to two separate nations. Pakistan, too, credits Syed Ahmed Khan, the first proponent of the said theory, as the first proponent of the theory and the founder of the Aligarh Muslim University is even regarded as the father of Pakistan.

It was in 1876 that Khan said, “I am convinced now that Hindus and Muslims could never become one nation as their religion and way of life was quite distinct from each other. Seven years later, he stated, “Friends, in India, there live two prominent nations which are distinguished by the names of Hindus and Mussalmans…To be a Hindu or a Muslim is a matter of internal faith which has nothing to do with mutual relationships and external conditions…Hence, leave God’s share to God and concern yourself with the share that is yours…India is the home of both of us…By living so long in India, the blood of both have [sic] changed.”

He continued, “The colour of both have become similar. The faces of both, having changed, have become similar. The Muslims have acquired hundreds of customs from the Hindus and the Hindus have also learned hundreds of things from the Mussalmans. We mixed with each other so much that we produced a new language – Urdu, which was neither our language nor theirs. Thus, if we ignore that aspect of ours which we owe to God, both of us, on the basis of being common inhabitants of India, actually constitute one nation; and the progress of this country and that of both of us is possible through mutual cooperation, sympathy and love. We shall only destroy ourselves by mutual disunity and animosity and ill will[…]”

In 1888, Khan asserted, “Now, suppose that the English community and the army were to leave India, taking with them all their cannons and their splendid weapons and all else, who then would be the rulers of India?… Is it possible that under these circumstances two nations—the Mohammedans and the Hindus—could sit on the same throne and remain equal in power? Most certainly not. It is necessary that one of them should conquer the other. To hope that both could remain equal is to desire the impossible and the inconceivable. But until one nation has conquered the other and made it obedient, peace cannot reign in the land.”

Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was born in May 1883. Unless the argument here is that the spirit of Veer Savarkar spoke of the two-nation theory years before he was conceived in his mother’s womb, then Shashi Tharoor is most definitely in the wrong here. Or, Veer Savarkar had to be the ‘wokest’ child in the history of ‘woke’ children to able to advocate such a theory at the ripe old age of five years and we will also have to believe that the Muslim community surrounding him was deluded enough to take forward an idea proposed by a five-year-old Hindu child. If this sounds utterly preposterous and ridiculous, as it should, then it is safe to say that the Congress party is totally and entirely wrong.

It wasn’t just Syed Ahmed Khan. As far back as 1930, ten years before the Lahore Resolution, Muhammad Iqbal demanded a separate Muslim state. He said in his presidential address at the 25th Annual Session of the All India Muslim League on the 29th of December that year, “India is a continent of human beings belonging to different languages and professing different religions…I, therefore, demand the formation of a consolidated Muslim state in the best interests of the Muslims of India and Islam.” Therefore, to blame Hindu Nationalists for the two-nation theory is the most despicable distortion of history.

B.R. Ambedkar, who could never be called a Hindu Nationalist, too made it clear that Veer Savarkar never advocated for the creation of a separate state for Muslims. He wrote, “Mr. Savarkar, on the other hand, insists that, although there are two nations in India, India shall not be divided into two parts, one for Muslims and the other for the Hindus; that the two nations shall dwell in one country and shall live under the mantle of one single constitution; that the constitution shall be such that the Hindu nation will be enabled to occupy a predominant position that is due to it and the Muslim nation made to live in the position of subordinate co-operation with the Hindu nation.”

Summarizing Savarkar’s views, Ambedkar continued, “In the struggle for political power between, the two nations the rule of the game which Mr Savarkar prescribes is to be one man one vote, be the man Hindu or Muslim. In his scheme, a Muslim is to have no advantage which a Hindu does not have. The minority is to be no justification for privilege and majority is to be no ground for a penalty. The State will guarantee the Muslims any defined measure of political power in the form of Muslim religion and Muslim culture. But the State will not guarantee secured seats in the Legislature or in the Administration and, if such guarantee is insisted upon by the Muslims, such guaranteed quota is not to exceed their proportion to the general population.”

Thus, quite clearly, when Savarkar acknowledges that Hindus and Muslims were part of separate nations, he was only conceding a point that was repeatedly being made by the Muslim elite class and not propagating or even supporting the two-nation theory. Amusingly enough, even Karl Marx, someone the secular-liberal intellectual fraternity is extremely fond of, has said that Muslims of any region form a different nation. He said as far back as in 1854, “The Koran and the Mussulman legislation emanating from it reduce the geography and ethnography of the various people to the simple and convenient distinction of two nations and of two countries; those of the Faithful and of the Infidels. The Infidel is “harby,” i.e. the enemy. Islamism proscribes the nation of the Infidels, constituting a state of permanent hostility between the Mussulman and the unbeliever.”

Therefore, to blame Veer Savarkar and the Hindu Mahasabha for the two-nation theory is a despicable sleight of hand by the senior leaders of the Congress party. However, accusing Hindus of crimes committed by Islamic fundamentalists is a sin that comes naturally to the party. It is similar to how the party propagated the Saffron Terror Myth to draw a false equivalence between Hindu Nationalists and Islamic Fundamentalists and went to great lengths to prove Hindus guilty of crimes they did not commit.

Gujarat: Following Jumma Namaz, Hindus and Muslims clash allegedly over ‘flying kites’, one villager, Vinod Chawda dead

0

On Friday, a clash broke out between two communities in Akbarpur village of Anand district in Gujarat, shortly after the conclusion of Friday’s Jumma Namaz in a local mosque. Reportedly, Hindus and Muslims clashed in the area and one Hindu, who has been identified as Vinod F. Chawda, lost his life during the violence.

As per initial reports, a minor fight led to the violence being aggrevated among the Hindu and Muslim community of the Gujarat village. Even though the police have not yet confirmed the reason behind the clash, reports suggest that the scuffle allegedly broke out over “flying kites”. The conflict between Hindus and Muslims had reportedly started on the occassion of Uttarayan where Hindus usually fly kites to celebrate the festival.

It is also being speculated whether the violence was fuelled by the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), given that similar instances of chaos have followed after Jumma Namaz on Fridays.

The violence resulted in stone pelting, following which the police had to resort to shelling tear gas and lathi-charge. The mob also burnt down a dozen houses. One local resident by the name of Vinod F Chawda was shot dead, though there is no confirmation whether he was shot dead by the mob or lost his life in the police action. A villager, however, alleged that the deceased was not a part of the mob and had nothing to do with the violence.

At this point, it remains unclear whether Chawda was shot by the police or the violent mob. The situation is now under control and investigation is underway. Police deployment too has been increased heavily.

The police have claimed that the violence has been brought under control after they fired tear gas and resorted to lathi-charge.

This is not the first time when a mob resorted to violence in Gujarat. In December last year, a Muslim mob had attacked a police van during Anti-CAA protests led by Jignesh Mehvani.

Threats, water supply cut and no puja being allowed: How Hindu families are being harassed by Christians in a Mumbai building

0

Maharashtra has recently seen a change of power at the state with erstwhile Hindutva party Shiv Sena allying with ‘secular’ forces like the Congress party headed by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi along with NCP, headed by Sharad Pawar. With a ‘secular’ government in place now, the Hindus of the state have been left in the lurch. The plight of Hindus was evident from the ordeal of some Hindu families living in a Mumbai residential complex where the majority of residents are Christians.

Zee News reported that in a residential building called MP Kinny House in Juhu, there are only 5 Hindu families, with all other residents being Christians. The Christians of the building have been harassing the Hindu families by issuing threats, shutting off the water supply and not allowing them to perform puja.

A Hindu resident of the building, Alpa Beli said that the Christian families of the building shut off the water supply of the building because that is where they take the water from to perform their puja. In fact, she said that even though the Hindu families furnish advance rent of 6 months, the Christian families mistreat them. She says that their (Christian families’) greatest issue is that the Hindu families perform puja. ‘Unhe pasand nahi hai hum apne Devi, Devtaon ko puje’, she said.

Another family, that of one Anju Tata had a similar tale to tell. She said that the Hindu families face a lot of issues in the building like facing abuses, threats and the water supply being cut by the Christian families. She said they often come outside their house and lock their doors and threaten them to leave.

Another individual said that they are troubled because the Christian families are against the Hindus performing puja. He said that they are harassed when they play the Shankh or even light Agarbattis for their puja. He said that the harassment has reached a level where the Hindus of the building are wondering if they should flee and live elsewhere.

When the Zee News correspondent tried to reach out to the caretaker of the building, he refused to respond. The daughter of the caretaker flat-out refused to answer questions posed by Zee News. In fact, the daughter can be seen standing at the door and telling the correspondent to interview those people who have made the allegations. Further, she says that it was not their fault at all (the caretakers and Christian families).

When contacted, the Maharashtra Home Minister said that everyone in Maharashtra has the right to worship the Gods they believe in, in their homes.

Reportedly, a complaint has already been lodged by the Hindu families with the police about the harassment they face at the hands of the Christian residents of the building, but no action against the culprits have been taken thus far.

This is not the first time that such an incident has come to light from Maharashtra. In October, Vishwa Bhanu, a resident of Malad West, Mumbai, who is associated with the movie industry as an actor, wrote on Facebook about the ordeal he suffered on the occasion of Diwali as a consequence of the intolerance of his Muslim neighbours. He said that her wife was not being allowed to light up their house on Diwali and he was forced to remove the lights by the mob.

In the complaint to police, Vishwa Bhanu wrote:

Like every year, my wife Priyanka Sharma has been prevented from lighting candles and making her Rangoli on Diwali. Anti-social elements who live in the society, where Rehan Petiwala, Salim and Mustafa broke the lights. Every year they do this and even mock our God’s and Goddesses. On Bakra Eid, they force us to keep our door open and they slaughter goats in front of our house when they can do this elsewhere also. But I never said anything because it is their festival. Because we are Hindus, we are mocked, pressurised and a situation is being created that we will soon leave the area. For small things, they come to fight with us. I am mostly away for shooting and am concerned about my wife.

After OpIndia broke the story, Bhanu was severely misquoted by The Quint and had then lashed out against the portal. He had also detailed his ordeal further on how Muslims of the society regularly harassed them for being Hindu.

It’s official: Endgame of Shaheen Bagh protest is second partition of India. Listen to what mastermind and The Wire columnist says

The anti-CAA protests, especially at the Shaheen Bagh, which had turned rampantly communal, is now caught pushing dangerous secessionist agenda which aims for a second partition. A series of videos have gone viral on social media in which Sharjeel Imam, the chief co-ordinator of Shaheen Bagh protest and a The Wire columnist was seen instigating Muslims of the country to break India by cutting of North-east from the rest of the country. Interestingly, earlier, ‘Jinnah Wali Azadi’ slogans were raised at Shaheen Bagh which also pointed towards the main agenda of these anti-CAA protests, specifically at Shaheen Bagh, is the second partition of India.

In a video which has gone viral now, Sharjeel Imam, the mastermind Of Shaheen Bagh ‘protests’ and The Wire columnist, while speaking to Muslim mobs, says, “Our main aim is to permanently cut Assam and North-east India from rest of India”.

Amidst controversial slogans of “Allah-u-Akbar” and “Naara-e-Taqbeer”, an excited Imam makes a stunning revelation that how rallies organised by Kanhaiya Kumar can be used to instigate 5 lakh Muslims to create riots.

He adds, “If 5 lakhs Muslims are organised then we can cut the North-east from rest of India. If we cannot do permanently, at least we can cut North-east from India for months. Our responsibility is to cut the Assam from India then Govt will hear our voice. If we have to help the Assam then we will have to cut the Assam from rest of India.”

Imam in the video, Imam further says that the non-Muslim population of the country should now stand with the demands of the Muslims.

Siliguri Corridor or Chicken’s neck.

The Siliguri Corridor or Chicken’s Neck is a narrow stretch of land of about 22 kilometres located in the Indian state of West Bengal, that connects India’s northeastern states to the rest of India, with the countries of Nepal and Bangladesh lying on either side of the corridor.

The Siliguri Corridor is one of India’s most important strategic communication lines as it passes through the rail and road networks that feed the primary military formations located in the North East which will counter China during a conflict.

“We need to make use of the anger and frustration of the people of the country. It is the responsibility of the scholars to productively use the anger of the people,” says Imam while taking a dig on Kanhaiya Kumar for just resorting to his own image building rather than channelling the anger of the people, especially Muslims of the country.

Another video of Sharjeel Imam has made it to the social media in which he can be seen instigating Muslim population of the country and brainwashing them by stating that Constitution of the country should not matter to Muslims and that they only should believe in it when they get power to change it.

“Muslims will be put into detention camps. There is an attack on Muslims, not on the Constitution as you (Muslim protestors) think. Constitution keeps on changing. You all know what the Court did in the Babri Masjid case. You all know what the court did in Kashmir, There is no internet from last five months. Is this the Constitution of India?,” asks Sharjeel Imam while trying to instigate Muslims against the state.

The anti-CAA protests, especially at Shaheen Bagh, which had turned blatantly communal, has now become even more dangerous as day-after-day it is propagating more anti-India agenda.

In an exclusive OpIndia expose, we had reported how the protests at Shaheen Bagh in the name of saving the constitution are being organised by people who had planned to burn the Constitution.

On December 31, OpIndia had published screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation where Sharjeel Imam had said that he would prefer to burn the constitution, as burning the 1500 page Ayodhya judgement would be difficult. He had said this while planning protests after the historic Ram Mandir verdict was given by the Supreme Court.

Sharjeel Imam is a PhD scholar from JNU who was earlier caught discussing regarding burning the constitution one day ahead of the Supreme Court verdict on the long-contested Ram Janmabhooomi-Babri Masjid dispute. Moreover, a video was posted by Facebook group ‘Muslim Students of JNU’ on 14 December 2019 – a day ahead of the Shaheen Bagh protests telling the crowds to block the roads of Delhi. He was seen instigating Muslims saying ‘Don’t Muslims even have that much in them to shut down cities of north India?’

The dangerous secessionist agenda of Islamists, who are the masterminds of the ongoing anti-CAA riots backed by “liberal-secular” media of the country was also recently exposed in a sting operation by Republic TV.

In an explosive sting, Republic TV had exposed the real intentions behind the Shaheen Bagh ‘protests’ as Sharjeel Imam, the chief conspirator of anti-India propaganda at Shaheen Bagh was caught saying on camera that the original plan was to organise a protest for one day to try and block major roads to attract the ‘western media’.

As the violent protests perpetrated by the Muslim mobs on the streets of Delhi and Jamia Millia Islamia University failed, few women belonging to Muslim community sat on a protest at Shaheen Bagh and blocked bus stop and a highway causing severe problems to the public of Delhi.

It is important to note that the Shaheen Bagh protests, which were actually passed as an organic protest in a bid to ‘save the constitution’ later turned blatantly communal. It was earlier reported how protestors chanted slogans of “Jinnah Wali Azadi”, exposing the claims of “liberal-secular” media, who had earlier passed of these protests as peaceful.

Later, another Hinduphobic poster came up at the protest site in which the Hindu Swastika was depicted wrongfully and shown crushed by Hindu women in Burkha.

From The Print to The Wire: How journalists justified the attack on colleague Deepak Chaurasia by Shaheen Bagh goons

0

Consulting Editor of News Nation Deepak Chaurasia was attacked yesterday at Shaheen Bagh by people protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Sharing a video from his ordeal on social media, he had said, “We are hearing that the constitution is in danger, we are hearing that the fight is to save democracy! When I reached Shaheen Bagh to show the same voice to the country, there was nothing less than mob lynching!”

The video that emerged was nothing short of shocking, with goons almost lynching Chaurasia. The video journalist accompanying Chaurasia was attacked as well and the camera was destroyed. According to him, there was no policeman at the site to protect him.

While most people expressed shock and unequivocally condemned the violence against Deepak Chaurasia by Shaheen Bagh goons, there were some who chose to shield the Islamist mobs by justifying the attack on him.

The political editor of CNN News 18, Marya Shakil first condemned the attack on Deepak Chaurasia. However, then she went on to justify the Islamist goons too.

She said that journalists must think why the mic which is supposed to give voice to voiceless has started intimidating people and why the media is not trusted by people. She also said that the media has become a party to the “dangerous and polarising debate”.

Essentially, what Marya was doing was shielding the Shaheen Bagh mob by contextualising the near-lynching of journalist Deepak Chaurasia. What she was implying is that the Shaheen Bagh protesters are ‘voiceless’ and the section of the media that differs with the “secular” narrative, are prone to be lynched and attacked.

While Marya was slightly discreet, others did not even bother to keep up pretences.

Responding to Marya, Rohini Singh, who has conducted several lie-ridden hitjobs in her illustrious career with the Leftist propaganda rag, went a step further.

She rued the fact that the ‘onus of appropriate behaviour’ was always on the ‘citizens who have consistently been dehumanised, demonised and abused by the same media’. What she essentially meant that it was wrong for people to demand basic civility and display of appropriate behaviour from Muslims of Shaheen Bagh (or anywhere else) since according to her, they were the ones who were being demonised and abused by the media.

Rohini Singh, of course, did not mention ‘Muslims’ directly, but given the context and the fact that the Muslim-victimhood is aggressively peddled by The Wire, this seems like a reasonable inference.

Rohini Singh, of course, did not stop there.

Confirming our earlier inference, Rohini Singh said that Muslim women were protesting in Shaheen Bagh and that ‘you’ (Deepak Chaurasia) had gone to delegitimise their voice. Rohini Singh shamelessly contextualised and almost legitimised the attack on Chaurasia saying that it was him that behaved like a goon and that his intention was to demonise Muslims.

‘Writer’ who does a weekly show on Shekhar Gupta led The Print was even more brazen. She downright said that the Shaheen Bagh goons were actually ‘polite’ with Deepak Chaurasia, implying that they should have beaten him up and attacked him further.

While The Print journalist cheers Deepak Chaurasia being assaulted, it is pertinent to note that Shekhar Gupta, who leads the Editors Guild, had to issue a statement merely for a tweet by BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya against Rajdeep Sardesai.

There were other smaller self-proclaimed journalists, commentators and trolls who are espoused by the ‘secular’ ecosystem too who chimed in.

What these elements have essentially done is declare that for them, lynching and attacking people is justified if they do not agree with them. For all the virtues of a free, independent and protected media that they seem to extol on a regular basis, they were more than happy when a journalist who doesn’t seem to toe their line, in their mind, is attacking by Islamist goons.

Only a couple of days ago, Deepak Chaurasia was abused by CPI leader Ameer Haider Zaidi in the vilest of language. Zaidi had claimed that he conducts debates only to insults Muslims and called him a ‘bh*dwa patrakar’ (pimp journalist).

On the day of the 30th anniversary of the Kashmiri Pandit exodus, the protesters at Shaheen Bagh had clashed with Kashmiri Pandits. Hinduphobic posters have also been spotted at these protests against the CAA. Shaheen Bagh is the same place where chants of ‘Jinnah Wali Azadi‘ were raised by the anti-CAA protesters. At the same protests, children were used in order to peddle a nefarious agenda. These children were raising extremely disturbing slogans and they appeared to be indoctrinated into a cult of hatred. Despite all of this, certain people have found these protests ‘too Indian’.
