PoK will be integrated with India, PM Modi wants it, and you will know when it happens: Amit Shah

On Tuesday, Home Minister Amit Shah reiterated at an Aaj Tak event that Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) is an integral part of India and a decision regarding its official inclusion as a part of Union of India will be taken at a right time in future.

Responding to a question on the integration of Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir, Home Minister Amit Shah said the integration of the PoK will indeed happen and stated that the government cannot announce its policies on such sensitive issues in a public forum while reiterating that the government will decide on the issue at a suitable time in the future.

“Nothing can be achieved by announcing such issues in the open. When the appropriate time comes, the government will decide on it. You will know when our government takes over PoK and officially integrates it as our territory,” said Amit Shah.

Home Minister Amit Shah further stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi also believes that Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) belongs to India and it should be united with the rest of the country.

In August this year, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had asserted that Kashmir is an integral part of the country and when he talked about Jammu and Kashmir, he means Jammu and Kashmir in its entirety, Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Aksai Chin are also included in it.

Even during the debate over the Citizenship Amendment Bill, the Home Minister had asserted that India shares a 106km border with Afghanistan. When opposition leaders objected to it, the HM had stated that if they do not consider PoK as a part of India, it is their problem.

Responding to Dayanidhi Maran over his allegation that India is only concerned about the land of PoK and not its people, Amit Shah had again stated that till this date, 24 seats in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly are left vacant for the people of PoK.

Shahi Imam of Delhi’s Jama Masjid appeals to anti-CAA rioters to ‘protest in control’, Islamic fundamentalists call him a ‘fool’

Shahi Imam of Delhi’s Jama Masjid on Tuesday cleared air on the confusion in Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens. As quoted by news agency ANI, the Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari said that while protesting is democratic right, it is important it is ‘done in control’. He further clarified that the CAA does not affect the Indian Muslims and it is about the thee neighbouring Islamic countries specifically.

While most of what he said is correct, he is incorrect in saying that Muslims from these countries don’t get citizenship. They will, but they have to follow due process and not under this Act.

However, he was soon called a ‘fool’ for being a saner voice in the chaos that has transpired in the national capital and across the country in last few days.

Pro-AAP blog Janta Ka Reporter Editor Rifat Jawaid called him a fool and questioned who gave him the title of Shahi Imam. “Who follows him anyway,” he tweeted. He even called the Shahi Imam ‘zameer farosh’ (dishonest).

He was also called a ‘sarkari stooge’.

One ‘proud Muslim’ also accused the Shahi Imam of ‘misleading’.

People were really angry and upset at him for being a voice of reason.

He was also accused of taking money from the government.

Following the enactment of the Citizenship Amendment Act, anti-CAA protests soon turned violent and the rioters took to street to set buses on fire and damage public property. With passing day it is getting more and more clearer that what is being referred to as ‘student movement’ is actually a very well planned and coordinated effort to create law and order situation in the country and fan communal violence.

When protests take a violent form then it is the responsibility of the police to intervene and restore peace: Amit Shah on anti-CAA riots

As anti-CAA stir turns violent in East Delhi, Home Minister Amit Shah in an interview today said that when a protest takes violent turns it becomes the Home Minister’s responsibility to see that first and foremost, peace is restored at any cost.

Taking about the hard-lined action being taken by the Delhi police to control the frenzied mob in Delhi, the BJP president said that it is the responsibility of the country’s Home Ministry to take hold of such situations and as the Home Minister I have asked the Delhi police to reinstate peace in Delhi, as the first priority.

Reassuring that no injustice will happen to any Muslim citizen of this country, the Home Minister firmly rehashed that there is no chance of going back on this law. “Lakhs and crores of people who came to India to protect their faith will be safeguarded”, said Shah while speaking at ‘Agenda Aajtak’ program today.

Blaming Opposition for the ensuing riots Shah said: “All the trouble is because of false propaganda by Congress, TMC, AAP, Left and other parties”. CAA and NRC are not connected to Bengal or Delhi elections. I request other political parties not to use it in elections to polarise, the Home Minister said in strong words.

“Partition should not have happened on religious lines. Sadly it happened. Congress surrendered to demands of partition on religious lines,” said Shah, slamming the Opposition for indulging in vote bank politics. “Congress accepted partition and is now indulging in vote bank politics,” said Shah.

Lashing out further at Congress and accusing the party of dividing the country on the basis of religion, the Home Minister who was speaking at the Aaj Tak Agenda asked: “How is Congress questioning us on law formulated by them? Was the law formed to put in a showcase?”

Rejecting the Opposition’s criticism that the Citizenship Amendment Bill discriminates against Muslims, Union Home Minister Amit Shah referred to the 1950 Nehru-Liaqat Pact for protection of minorities.

“In 1950, Nehru and Liaquat Khan decided that they will protect their respective minorities. Today, there are 3 per cent Hindus in Pakistan. Where did they go? Either they’ve been forcibly converted or they took refuge here. Congress let them feel isolated for the last 70 years. Narendra Modi is finally giving them respect,” added Shah.

Defending the Citizenship Amendment Bill, Amit Shah reiterated that both Pakistan and Bangladesh failed to protect religious minorities after Partition and claimed that the Narendra Modi government was correcting the historical wrong by offering citizenship to the religious minority refugees from these countries.

“There is no reason for Muslims to worry. Nobody is losing citizenship. Only persecuted religious minorities (Hindu, Sikh Buddhists Jains Parsis Christians) from Pakistan, Afghanistan & Bangladesh will be eligible for citizenship,” rehashed Amit Shah.

Restating that the CAA will not be withdrawn Shah said that out of 224 universities the protests were being carried out by students of few universities as they may not have read the Citizenship Amendment Act. Read and then interact with Government instead of falling for rumours, appealed the Home Minister to all those students who have been participating in the anti-CAA riots without actually understanding the Act.

Delhi turns into a war zone as anti-CAA rioters now attack a school bus after ‘peaceful’ protest turned violent in Delhi’s Seelampur area. In a video shared by BJP leader Kapil Mishra, the rioters can be seen beating up policemen.

As per reports, police had to resort to tear gas after ‘peaceful protestors’ pelted stones at them, injuring police officials including Additional DCP RP Meena.

A Police post was also set on fire by the mob along with police and private motorcycles. Drone cameras were brought in to assess the rioters.

The mob reportedly taunted the policemen to run after them following which they pelted stones at them.

Last week, the protests held in Jamia Nagar in New Delhi had turned violent following which the police had to use force to bring the situation under control. Communal slogans like ‘Hinduon se azaadi‘ were also chanted during the protests. Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan was also seen instigating the mob.

Counter campaign in support of CAA and NRC launched in IIMA, similar voices of dissent rising on other IIMs

Alumni at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), has launched a campaign in support of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC). The campaign is in response to the Anti-NRC petition which was circulated by the IIMA alumni and picked up by the media.

“While the media reported IIMA as being against NRC in an almost a blanket stereotyping of all students, members and alums, there are many, many who support and understand the need for NRC. These voices deserve a place and space to be heard on an equal platform, and it is no justice for them to be clubbed as Anti-NRC just because some of their peers signed a letter,” the email circulated within the alumni read.

“The entire premise of NRC being against any community is laid in a foundation of lies and confusions. The peddlers of this fear have ultimately expanded across India, leading to a situation of desperation and violent divisive sentiment. Those who are protesting against CAA are doing little to dispel the doubts of NRC and unwilling to listen to the reason why NRC is a necessary step which even the Supreme Court of India ratified in 2013,” the letter further said.

Condemning the violent protests held by anti-CAA rioters in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar and other parts of the country, the petition by IIMA alumni reads that the NRC is of paramount importance for any country. “The need becomes even more critical and urgent when the country is weighed down with disproportionate population of its own coupled with heavy influx of illegal immigrants from neighboring countries often unchecked across porous borders. The Indian taxpayers hard earned money is meant for the welfare of his/her fellow citizens and squandering that on illegal immigrants is a gross disservice to the nation,” the petition reads.

The petition reads that the NRC along with CAA has been “grossly misunderstood and misrepresented by various factions in order to further their respective narratives.” This misrepresentation has led to fear-mongering. On the history of NRC, the petition reads that it was first implemented in 1951, four years after independence and the current form has been mandated by the Supreme Court in 2013.

The problem of protesting against CAA is that while it may seem divisive to many, seemingly nobody has, or even bothers to give a better solution,” the petition reads. On the utopian dream of giving citizenship to all alien people, the petition says how it will add a burden of nearly 2 crore to the population. “CAA is the optimal solution and has no alternative. And CAA in its current form fulfils our commitment to the Article 3 of Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel,  Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment whereby before undertaking any repatriation the signatory country must ensure it is not sending back any refugee to face “torture and serious danger”,” the petition reads.

As educated, aware and non-partisan citizens, who do not see issues in the colors of their religion and flags of their party, and who regard the nation above all religion, party and person – while we do support the right to strictly non-violent protest we also whole-heartedly support the idea of protecting the nation and its citizens’ rights via the effective implementation of NRC. NRC must now be implemented in full swing to ensure that all citizens of India cherish their Indian-ness as responsible citizens,” the petition reads.

Another letter signed by six IIMA alumni from the 2017-18 batch was also issued where the signatories condemned the violent protests and hoped for sane voices to rise. “Being educated professionals, we fully understand the threats, risks, problems (of every nature) associated with unchecked, unlimited immigration, that too in an already overpopulated country where population control is the need of the hour,” the letter read. The alumni further extended support to assist persecuted community, anywhere in the world, to highlight their issues at global level.

Amusingly, when an email was circulated at IIM Udaipur to urge students to oppose CAA, a second year student wasn’t quite amused.

The student angrily replied saying how such email chains are hardly of any use and since they are there to study management, they’d rather do so.

This is not the first time alumni of premier educational institution has come forward in support of the CAA. Earlier, the IIT Bombay students had also come out in support of the CAA.

‘Keep women as first line of defense, inform journalist friends to take videos’ NSUI’s plan for anti-CAA protest by SFI

The role of the Congress party in instigating protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act across universities was exposed by OpIndia recently. We revealed that a sinister plot was underway to promote anarchy, carefully coordinated by the Congress party. Now, OpIndia has more evidence of the coordination that the NSUI, the students’ wing of Congress, is offering to these protesters.

It’s important to remember here that a carefully crafted pretense is being maintained that these are ‘spontaneous protests’ when, in fact, these are politically motivated.

The instance we shall speak of in this report concerns the protests at Madras University today which have been headed by the Students’ Federation of India (SFI). The SFI is affiliated to the Communist Party of India. The mainstream media is not reporting this fact. But now, we have screenshots from the Anti-CAA WhatsApp group we mentioned in our earlier report.

Screenshot from the WhatsApp group

Reetam Singh, the NSUI National RTI Cell Coordinator, who featured prominently in our earlier report, makes his presence felt once again. In the chain of discussion, one Poovai Kannan tells Reetam Singh that around 60 ‘students’ protested from 4 p.m. and that they were surrounded by ‘hundreds of police’. It’s the reply by Reetam Singh of NSUI that is most shocking.

Reetam Singh tells Kannan to use the girls as the ‘first line of defense’ in order to ensure that the ‘students’ are safe. “Police would never touch them,” he says, before adding, “Keep protesting peacefully”.

Screenshot from the WhatsApp Group

The reply by Kannan reveals that the mainstream media is hand in gloves with these ‘protesters’. The reply shows that the mainstream media has been acting as propagandists on behalf of the anti-CAA protesters rather than doing their actual job of reporting facts objectively. Kannan tells Reetam Singh to inform a “few journalist friends to take videos and share the same”.

Screenshot from the WhatsApp group

Furthermore, Reetam Singh also tells Kannan that Iniyan Robert is an advocate in Chennai and will help them should they need any help. Robert appears to be a member of the group as well. Kannan then tells Iniyan Robert that should she need any help, she will contact him.

Screenshot from the WhatsApp group

Iniyan Robert is a national coordinator of the NSUI and an ‘RTI activist’ from Chennai as per his profile on Twitter. He is also a ‘Nehruvian Socialist’.

Iniyan Robert’s Twitter Profile

These screenshots reveal that the entire protest is being coordinated by political parties and the media is working hard to hype it up. These are, by no means, spontaneous as they are made out to be. A deliberate effort is being made to generate hysteria against the government so that political vultures can draw mileage from it. The student wings of the Congress party and the Communist Party of India are coordinating these protests but attempting to give the impressions that these are spontaneous.

One can only imagine how many more groups are being spearheaded by Congress and NSUI, coordinating attacks and protests in other places and universities. Evidently, the protests are not organic. They are clearly coordinated by Congress while trying their best to ensure that the Congress, NSUI connect does not get revealed so these protests can then be used by Congress politically to say that the “Nation is against CAA and Modi”. And the SFI, too, has made its presence felt.

It’s also important to remember that an intelligence report shared with the Ministry of Home Affairs says that some ‘political parties’ and banned radical Islamist outfits like SIMI and PFI are behind the violent protests in several places across the country. “Some political parties (names withheld considering the gravity of the case) ignited the violent acts at various places, letting opportunities to sleeper cells of extremist and militant Islamic fundamentalist organisations, Popular Front of India (PFI) and Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI)” the ministry sources were quoted as saying. Thus, quite clearly, sinister forces are at work in the country and these protests are by no means spontaneous.

Pakistan will not house Muslim fleeing India: Pakistan PM Imran Khan

After failing myriad times in internationalising the Kashmir issue, Pakistan PM Imran Khan, in yet another attempt to veer global attention towards Jammu and Kashmir, has today made an outrageous claim that there is a possibility that millions of Muslims could flee India for Pakistan after the abrogation of Article 370 and legislation of the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

Speaking at the Global Forum on Refugees in Geneva, Khan said, “We are anxious about the looming refugee crisis in the region which could escalate tensions between the two nuclear-armed countries.”

According to Pakistan Prime Minister, millions of Muslims in India want to cross over to Pakistan after the abrogation of Article 370 and subsequent imposition of the curfew in Jammu and Kashmir and recently after the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act.

“We won’t be able to accommodate the Muslim refugees coming from India in our country,” Khan said, urging the global powers to “step-in now” to resolve the issue.

It is important to note that Imran’s refusal to accept Muslim refugees from India comes at a time when some parts of North India, especially the National Capital, are witnessing violent anti-CAA riots, ostensibly for the exclusion of Muslims from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan in the act.

So while some Indians are willing to endure batons and tear gas shells for their demand to include Muslims from the neighbouring countries in the Citizenship Amendment Bill, the Pakistani PM Imran Khan has firmly shut the door of his country for the Indian Muslims saying “his country is not in the position to accommodate Muslims from India”.

It is also noteworthy to mention that Pakistan, which was formed on the principles of reclaiming the glory of Islam and being a guiding light for the Muslim Ummah, has shunned its foundational beliefs by denying refuge to their Indian co-religionists who may be contemplating on shifting to Pakistan.

Saas Bahu drama in Bihar: Aishwarya Rai, Rabri Devi accuse each other of torture and harassment, Rai names Rabri, Misa and Husband Tej Pratap too

A full-fledged family drama unfolded when Aishwarya Rai, the estranged daughter-in-law of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, married to his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav, reportedly sat weeping outside the family’s Circular Road residence on Sunday.

Following the alleged incident of domestic abuse, Rai lodged an FIR at the Mahila police station Sunday accusing her mother-in-law and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi with beating her, dragging her by her hair and snatching away her mobile phone and other belongings before driving her out of the residence. She also blamed her eldest sister-in-law Misa Bharti and husband Tej Pratap of harassing and assaulting her.

In the FIR, Aishwarya Rai said that she was assaulted and dragged out of Rabri Devi’s house at 10, Circular Road on Sunday night.

Confirming this, Aarti Kumari, in-charge of the Mahila police station, said on Monday that an investigation has been launched on the complaint received from Aishwarya. “In the FIR lodged, Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, Tej Pratap and two security personnel have been accused. The police are investigating the case,” she told IANS.

The officer said Rai’s FIR was lodged under sections of 498 A of the Indian Penal Code (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt.), 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) and 3/4 (penalty for demanding dowry).

Aishwarya told reporters on Sunday evening, after her alleged eviction from Rabri Devi’s residence, that her mother-in-law had pulled her hair and thrashed her. After this, with the help of a policewoman, she was dragged out of the house.

Media reports have stated that Aiswarya had come with her parents to Rabri Devi’s family residence to collect her belongings.

Aishwarya’s father, former minister Chandrika Rai, said that the Lalu family will be exposed. Talking about fighting this politically, he said that those who cannot respect women in their homes, how can they respect others. After this Chandrika Rai’s supporters created a ruckus outside Rabri’s residence and raised slogans against the family.

While the daughter-in-law accused Rabri of harassing her mentally and physically the mother-in-law has also hit back, apprehending threat to life from Aishwarya.

Rabri Devi in a counter-complaint Monday morning with the Sachivalya police station alleged that Aishwarya was harassing her. In her written complaint, a copy of which was later forwarded to the women’s police station, Rabri alleged that Aishwarya suddenly came out of her room and attacked her when she was sitting with party MLA Shakti Singh Yadav on Sunday.

Rabri has also claimed that Aishwarya had once dumped garbage on her door.

The security guards deployed at her official residence rushed to the spot and rescued her safely, Rabri claimed. Aishwarya left the spot not before threatening to sue her mother-in-law (Rabri Devi) in false and fabricated cases, the former CM said in her complaint.

Meanwhile, RJD MLA and a close associate of Rabri Devi and Lalu Prasad, Shakti Yadav confirmed that Rai misbehaved with “madam” and he is a witness.

Reports of conflicts and trouble within the Yadav family have been around since the time the Aishwarya and Tej Pratap married in May last year. Fodder scam convict and RJD leader Lalu Yadav‘s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav, after filing for a divorce from his wife Aishwarya Rai in November last year, claimed that he was made a scapegoat for the political benefits of his family members.

Soon after, a video had surfaced where Rai was seen leaving teary-eyes from her mother-in-law, Rabri Devi’s house.

Viral image of man donning anti-riot gear is not of an RSS member but an AATS cop: Delhi Police

Following the Delhi Police’s crackdown against the rioting mob at the Jamia Millia Islamia University, many unfounded rumours and fake news are doing the rounds on the Internet.

One such rumour which has gained massive traction is about a man who continued to pound lathis on one of the protestors even as few of her female colleagues flanked him to safeguard him from the raining batons.

Wild rumours flew high about the identity of the man who was seen controlling the worsening law and order situation in the state
AATS squad member Highlighted in the above picture

Social Media is abuzz with the rumours that the man in red T-shirt and jeans who is donning a riot gear was actually not a policeman but an RSS volunteer. The picture of the man, which has now gone viral, has triggered speculation among many about the identity of the man. While rumours were flying about him being an RSS member, there were others who claimed that the man is a civilian as he was not wearing the police uniform.

However, putting an end to these wild rumours, the Delhi Police have repudiated the claims that the man is associated with a political outfit as well as him being a civilian. Chinmoy Biswal, the deputy commissioner of police(south-east), said that the man in question is a constable with the Anti-Auto Theft Squad(AATS).

Biswal further added that the members of AATS generally discharge their duty in civil clothes because of the nature of their work that involves detecting and stopping crimes.

According to police, the man whose picture is now going viral is a constable in his early thirties. However, they withheld from revealing his identity, citing security concerns.

One of the AATS squad members, Love Atrey, who was accompanying the constable said that their team was summoned on Sunday to take control of the deteriorating law and order situation in the wake of spiralling violence during the protests.

About 12-14 of us straight away headed to the spot without changing out attires. We donned on the anti-riot jackets and wore our motorcycle helmets before proceeding to control the mob,” Atrey told Hindustan Times.

Jamia ‘shero’ hailed by Barkha Dutt celebrates Moplah massacre, when Muslims massacred thousands of Hindus in 1921 in the name of Islam

Ladeeda Sakhaloon, the face of the Jamia Milia Islamia University protests, who was interviewed by Barkha Dutt and hailed as a ‘shero’ bravely standing against oppression, turned out to be a fanatic who gave a call for Jihad on social media. Her friend, Aysha Renna, had called India fascist for executing the Mumbai Blast terrorist Yakub Memon. We reported on it extensively yesterday.

Now, it appears that even committed ‘Secularists’ are finding it hard to believe that Ladeeda Sakhaloon actually posted those ideas. Singer Sona Mohapatra is one of them.

In the said post, Ladeeda shares someone’s write-up that says that “We are and will exist in every space as sons, daughters, grandsons, and granddaughters of Malcolm X, Ali Musliyar and Variamkunnath.” The Ali Musliyar she speaks about was a leader in the Moplah riots in Kerala in 1921 and an active orator in the Khilafat Movement that had eventually led to the partition of the country and the creation of Pakistan. The estimated Hindu deaths of the ethnic cleansing in Moplah massacre tantamount to somewhere around 10,000 and it is believed that as many a 100,000 Hindus were forced to leave Kerala in the wake of the riots.

Annie Besant described the events in her book ‘The Future of Indian Politics’ as: “They murdered and plundered abundantly, and killed or drove away all Hindus who would not apostatize. Somewhere about a lakh of people were driven from their homes with nothing but the clothes they had on, stripped of everything. Malabar has taught us what Islamic rule still means, and we do not want to see another specimen of the Khilafat Raj in India”

Babasaheb Ambedkar in his book, Pakistan or the Partition of India, wrote, “The blood-curdling atrocities committed by the Moplas in Malabar against the Hindus were indescribable. All over Southern India, a wave of horrified feeling had spread among the Hindus of every shade of opinion, which was intensified when certain Khilafat leaders were so misguided as to pass resolutions of “congratulations to the Moplas on the brave fight they were conducting for the sake of religion”.”

The number of Hindu Temples that were destroyed in the genocide is speculated to be a hundred. Forcible conversion of Hindus were rampant and unspeakable atrocities were poured upon Hindus. It can be read about in more detail here. Thus, the fact that the Face of the Jamia Milia Islamia University protests is endorsing a statement that says she will live as a daughter and granddaughter of Ali Musliyar is a further testament of her Jihadist inclinations. She wants to live as the daughter and granddaughter of someone who led the genocide of Hindus. These are the people Barkha Dutt and the secular brigade have lionized.

By ‘Variamkunnath’, Ladeeda Salakhoon probably means Chakkiparamban Variyankunnathu Kunjahammed Haji who was a great friend of Ali Musliyar. He fancied himself the ‘Sultan of Eranad’, the region of Kerala where the Moplah riots occurred. He is, in fact, considered the ‘Father of the Moplah Riots’. He ran a parallel government for more than a half year before it was crushed by the British. Thus, it appears, Ladeeda Salakhoon wants to repeat what Variyankunnathu did in Kerala all those years ago.

People are waking up to Ladeeda’s extremist ideology on social media. In one post, she writes in the caption “Don’t underestimate the power of a Hijabi” and the pictures show Hijabis pelting stones and carrying a gun.

Quite clearly, Ladeeda Salakhoon is an extremely radicalized individual. Given the fact that she is the face of the Jamia Milia Islamia University protests, the involvement of Jamia students in the riots that have gripped the national capital cannot be ruled out. Even if they did not participate in it directly, they could very well have instigated it. By lionizing these protesters, the secular camp is seriously threatening the integrity of the Indian Union.

Savdhaan India host Sushant Singh claims he was kicked out for speaking against CAA, but that may not be true. Read why

Actor and host of the crime-based show, Savdhaan India, Sushant Singh on Tuesday announced that his association with long-running TV show has ended.

Without mentioning any reason, he tweeted how his association has come to an end. When a journalist asked him whether it was his ‘price to say the truth’, he replied saying how it is a ‘very small price’.

The ‘truth’ that was being hinted at was Singh’s stand against the Citizenship Amendment Act. He had even participated in the protests against the CAA.

Well, the news that the actor is being ousted from the show aired on Star Bharat might be true but the reason the actor has stated for his exit from the show appears to be counterfactual.

According to a report published by an online publication, India Forums on December 5, the show might undergo a major change from next year as police officers would themselves narrate the crime based stories instead of the current host Sushant Singh. The report said that if things go well and the changes are finalised then the alteration is expected to take place from January 2020.

So this was a change which the makers of the show were already looking into since the beginning of this month or maybe before that. Therefore, the actor’s fanciful claim that he is being ousted because he spoke against the Citizenship Amendment Act does not add up considering that the Act only came into existence after getting President Ram Nath Kovind’s assent on December 12.

Read: Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap comes back from self-imposed Twitter exile to blame BJP IT cell for violent protests by Jamia rioters

Moreover, this is not the first time the actor will be replaced as the host of the show. After a gap of nine months, Sushant Singh had in October briefly returned to the show. The actor was replaced by Ashutosh Rana and Tisca Chopra in January this year after the makers came up with a new format and decided to introduce new faces.

In a similar attempt to virtue-signal and play the role of a ‘hero’ for speaking ‘truth to the power’, a Maharashtra cadre IPS officer Abdur Rahman had claimed that he has decided to resign from the service as a protest against the “blatantly communal and unconstitutional” Citizenship Amendment Bill. However, the fact was that the officer had already applied for a Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) in August citing ‘personal reasons’ but was rejected.

It is interesting to note here that Abdur Rehman was already planning to retire since August. However, to earn that extra mileage, he smartly touted this resignation as a move against CAB.
