On 16h December, a class two student died of a panic epileptic attack after stray dogs attacked her when she was playing in a park in Chandigarh’s Manimajra now renamed Sector 13. The deceased child was identified as Jasmeet.
As per reports, the kid usually used to play at the park after returning from school. On the fateful day too, she was playing at the park when a few stray dogs clung to her feet while fighting with each other. The little child got scared to the point that she suffered a panic epileptic attack.
The bystanders quickly saved her from the dogs and checked her pulse but they could not feel it. She was rushed to the hospital, where she was declared brought dead.
Following the incident, when News18 went to talk to the family of the deceased child, the neighbours came and showed the injuries they sustained during dog attacks.
The residents alleged that despite their repeated complaints to the administration about the threat posed by the stray dogs in their neighbourhood, nothing was done to stop them. The residents said they had been living in fear and stopped going out during the night. Children have stopped playing in the park, they added.
Jasmeet was a student of class two in Vatika Public School located in Sector 19, Chandigarh.
Mother-daughter suffered accident as dogs chased them
Another similar incident from Chandigarh’s Sector 38 came to light when the mother and daughter met an accident while trying to escape the chasing dogs.

Journalist Gagandeep Singh shared a CCTV video of the incident on X. The mother and daughter were riding a scooter when the stray dogs began chasing them. While trying to escape, they slammed into a parking of a house, fell off the scooter and injured themselves.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi told the Delhi High Court that he will delete a social media post where he had revealed the identity of a 9-year-old Dalit girl who was allegedly raped and murdered. He agreed to delete a 2021 tweet, where he had posted a photograph of the victim, identifying her which is a crime under Indian laws.
The Congress leader made the undertaking after the court indicated it might order the removal of the post to protect the victim’s identity. Rahul Gandhi’s lawyers told a division bench of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Mini Pushkarna that he was willing to take the tweet down.
Accepting the undertaking, the court agreed to not pass any order. Acting Chief Justice Manmohan said, “We don’t want to pass a judicial order for this, so please delete the tweet and protect the identity of the girl. We are concerned about that.”
In a surprising turn of events, the Delhi Police gave a completely different version of the case during the same hearing, saying that there was no scientific evidence that the victim girl was raped or murdered. The police stated that the girl died of electrocution.
Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, representing the petitioner against Gandhi, said that at the time of the tweet by Rahul Gandhi, it was considered a rape case, and if the police are giving a different version, it should file a closure report. He demanded that action against Rahul Gandhi should still be taken because he had disclosed the identity of the victim when it was considered a rape and murder case, which is a crime under POCSO.
Advocate Santosh Kumar Tripathi, representing the police, stated that a detailed status report would be filed in a sealed cover.
The Delhi Police counsel stated, “My report is already on record. Details of the investigation are mentioned. If anything further is required, I will file a sealed cover report. The purpose of the Delhi Police is not to scandalise anyone.”
The court directed the Delhi Police counsel to file a sealed cover status report on the investigation within four weeks. The next date of the hearing has been fixed on 24th January 2024.
It is notable that earlier the Congress party had claimed that the victim’s mother had permitted Rahul Gandhi reveal her daughter’s identity by posting her photograph. But the mother had denied this claim. She had clarified that she didn’t sign any consent later, and only talked to Rahul Gandhi when he visited the family.
Rahul Gandhi’s X (then Twitter) was locked for some time after he had posted the image, which is a crime under POCSO and Juvenile Justice Act. The concerned tweet was also withheld in India by Twitter, in response to a notice by NCPCR. However, later Rahul Gandhi’s Twitter account was restored.
Islamists and the left-liberal cabal have begun attacking the Uttar Pradesh Police after it attempted to disperse and control the Muslim mob including women who launched an attack on Hindus and the police on Tuesday (19th December) in the Moradabad region. As reported earlier, the mob of Muslims clashed with Hindu devotees over the construction of a temple’s boundary wall in the region. The Muslims including women are said to have pelted stones at the police and abused them as well as the Hindu locals while registering a protest against the legal construction of the temple wall.
The Police as a result resorted to maintaining peace and attempted to disperse the Muslim crowd who could be seen creating chaos at the temple construction site. The videos of the incident went viral over the internet. However, the incident is being falsely portrayed by Islamists saying that the Muslim women were ‘beaten’ by the Police in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh.
“Why UP police is lathi charging women with other Anti Social Elements? Instead of taking action against those ‘goondas’, Men in the khaki hand-in-glove beating,” said one of the users as he shared the video of UP Police dispersing the crowd.
One of the Quint Journalists also shared the video and indicated that the police were ‘assaulting’ and ‘beating’ the locals from another community who allegedly objected to construction at a religious shrine of another community. “The group also resorted to stone pelting as the initial argument over construction soon swelled into a full-scale brawl,” he added.

Also one of the netizens named Khan Saba said that Muslim women in Mundapanday town of Moradabad, UP were lathi-charged by Police and ‘anti-social-elements’. The video was circulated by many such Islamists who abused the Uttar Pradesh Police and Hindus for attempting to resort to peace.

Islamists accused Hindus were undertaking construction at the temple site ‘illegally’
The Islamists further also mentioned in their posts on X that the Hindus were illegally constructing the temple in the Muslim locality and so the Muslims were protesting against the Hindus and demanding removal of construction. According to the Islamists, the police instead of guarding the interests of the minority community, allegedly joined hands with Hindus to attack and target the Muslim women.

Notably, it has come to the fore that the Muslims had first launched an attack on the Police and intended to attack the Hindus who were constructing the wall of the Chamunda Mata Temple on private land in the Mundapanday town of Moradabad, UP. The Muslims protested against the construction and opposed the construction calling it ‘illegal’. The police happened to take cognizance of the event and confirm that the Hindus were undertaking construction legally on private land and that there was no need for the protests. However, the Muslim community people including women raised their voices against the temple wall and pelted stones at the police and the local Hindus.
OpIndia obtained the FIR copy of the incident in which it has been clearly mentioned that a few people from the Muslim community including women pelted stones at the Police, abused the officers, and also created chaos in the area. They interfered in government duty and attacked the state administrative officials as a result of which the police had to disperse the crowd and take appropriate action in self-defence.
Muslims were undertaking illegal construction on government land which was initially opposed by the Police, FIR confirms
Further, while the Islamists and the left-liberal cabal side with the Muslims claiming that the Hindus were undertaking ‘illegal’ construction at the Chamunda Mata Temple, the FIR clearly mentions that the people from the Muslim community had encroached on government land in the town to construct the illegal structure at the location.
The said government land is just 50 meters away from the temple. As per the FIR, the Hindus had earlier complained about the illegal construction undertaken by the Muslims on a burial ground which is looked after by the state government. Later the Police informed them about the illegal construction by Muslims on the government land following with the community members were asked to stop the illegal construction.
The community members including the accused named Abdullah and Zubainissha however refused to cooperate with the Police and asked the community members to continue with the illegal construction on the government land. They argued that the construction undertaken by the Hindus at the Chamunda Mata Temple was illegal and that it should be stopped. However, the Police confirmed that the construction undertaken by the Hindus was legal and that it was on their private land. The Police also informed the Muslim community that the location where they (Muslims) were constructing an illegal structure, belonged to the government.

“On 19th December at around 12:30 pm, the accused including women gathered in the town and began defending the illegal construction on the government land by Muslims. They also raised their voices against the temple wall construction. The police appealed to keep the peace but the 19 accused persons including women attacked the police with stones and abused the officers. The police then dispersed the crowd and arrested 5 persons on the spot. The action by the Police was in self-defense. 14 other persons including women have been booked in the case.

The 19 accused persons booked by the Police include a woman named Zaibunnisha who calls herself a ‘lawyer’ and had asked the Muslims to continue with the illegal construction even after the Police warnings. She meanwhile also acknowledged the existence of the temple but contended that the Hindu side was currently expanding it. However, the Police confirmed to OpIndia that the Hindus were undertaking construction on their own land and that it was completely legal. “Some people from the other community protested. But they were booked by the police and 5 among them have been arrested. Probe underway,” Additional SP of Moradabad Police said while talking to OpIndia.
The 19 persons named in the FIR by the Moradabad Police are Abdullah, Rahis, Israr, Fahim, Tausib, Zabunnisha (woman), Navish, Mujjamil, Navej, Kamil, Masoo Ali, Iliyaas, Ravik, Rihan, Karrar, Javed Najakat, Nadir, Jabir and 15-20 other unidentified persons. The said mob included women who pelted stones at the Police. One of the educated, ‘so-called’ lawyer women, Zaibunnisha has also been named in the FIR.

Among these 5 namely, Abdullah, Rahis, Israr, Fahim, and Tausib have been arrested by the Police. The accused persons have been booked under sections 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting using a deadly weapon), 149 (unlawful assembly), 332 (voluntarily causing harm in order to deter a public worker from doing his duties), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.
Section 7 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1932 has also been imposed upon the accused. The FIR has been filed based on a complaint filed by one of the police personnel named Surendra Singh. Further investigations are underway.
An Army vehicle has been ambushed by terrorists in the Dehra Ki Gali (DKG) forest area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. The attack took place today (December 21, Thursday) in the Surankote area of the district.

Notably, this is the second terror attack on the army in the region in less than a month.
This region has become a centre for terrorist activity in recent years, and the army has been the target of multiple high-profile strikes. But from 2003 until 2021, this area has been relatively free of terrorist attacks. Last month, five soldiers including two Captains were killed in action after the army and its special forces launched an anti-terror operation in Rajouri’s Kalakote. In twin attacks in the Rajouri-Poonch area in April and May of this year, ten soldiers lost their lives in combat.
On Thursday (21st December), the Delhi High Court instructed the Election Commission to take appropriate action against Rahul Gandhi following his contentious remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, which he made while discussing Gautam Adani at an event. In his comments, Rahul Gandhi referred to Modi and Shah as ‘pickpockets’, landing himself in legal trouble.
A bench headed by acting Chief Justice Manmohan said that the alleged statements, however, were not in good taste and hence the Election Commission should examine the matter. In this regard, a notice has been issued to Rahul Gandhi. “Assuming that the time limit for filing a reply is over and no reply has been received, the court directs the Election Commission to take appropriate action in the matter as expeditiously as possible preferably within 8 weeks,” the Delhi High Court bench ordered.
In the hearing, the court highlighted that the Election Commission had already stated in its notice dated 23rd November that it would address the issue appropriately. The Court said, “It is every individual’s responsibility to prevent such speeches. But when the election commission has taken action, what is the need for our interference? We agree that these statements are in a bad state.”
The petitioner, Bharat Nagar, informed the High Court that on 22nd November, Rahul Gandhi had made derogatory allegations in a speech against individuals occupying the most senior positions in the government, including the Prime Minister, wherein Rahul Gandhi labelled the PM as a pickpocket.
Notably, Rahul Gandhi said on 21st November, “PM means Panauti (bad omen) Modi. Modi comes on TV and keeps doing Hindu-Muslim and sometimes goes to cricket matches. It is a different matter that he makes the team lose the match. Modi’s job is to divert your attention. There are two pickpockets, one comes and talks to you in front of you, distracts you. By then, someone else picks up your pocket from behind.”
Rahul Gandhi’s remark targeting PM Modi was made in the context of India’s loss in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final, a match PM Modi attended at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The election commission issued a show cause notice to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over his derogatory remarks against PM Narendra Modi, including his ‘Panauti’ comment blaming Modi for India’s defeat to Australia in the Cricket World Cup final. The poll panel asked the Kerala MP to submit his response by 6 PM on 25th November to explain why no action should be taken against him for using derogatory words against the PM during an election speech in Rajasthan ahead of the assembly polls. However, the Congress scion did not respond.
The much-awaited election of the Wrestling Federation of India concluded on 21 December with Sanjay Singh elected as President. Sanjay Singh defeated former grappler Anita Sheoran in this election. The ‘rebel’ wrestlers including Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik had supported Anita Sheoran. However, Sanjay Singh won with a decisive majority.
The protesting wrestlers held a press conference in the Press Club soon after Sanjay Singh was announced as the new President.

Wrestler Sakshi Malik announced that she is quitting wrestling. “We protested for 40 days. Many people came from faraway places and supported us through difficulties and criticism. If somebody like Sanjay Singh, who is a business partner and friend of Brij Bhushan Singh is elected as the new president, I am quitting wrestling.”
Vinesh Phogat stated, “It is a dark day, and the future of Indian wrestling is bleak. We don’t know whom we will go to with our complaints. We have not given up. We still hope for justice.”

Former WFI President and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh, who is facing charges of sexual harassment and misbehavior from the protesting wrestlers, has told the media that Sakshi Malik quitting wrestling his her decision and he has nothing to do with it.
After his victory, Sanjay Kumar Singh said, “Wrestlers who want to do politics can do politics, those who want to do wrestling will do wrestling. We will politically answer the wrestlers who want to do politics.”
In August this year, the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) was suspended by United World Wrestling (UWW), the organisation that oversees wrestling, for failing to hold its elections on time. As a result, Indian wrestlers lost the right to play under the Indian flag at the coming World Championships.
Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was asked to resign on January 20, after allegations of sexual harassment by wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Ravi Dahiya, Bajrang Punia, and his wife Sangita Phogat and Sakshi Malik and her husband Satyavart Kadian.
The Bihar Police Headquarters has released a notice over Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat’s arrival to the state. He is going to spend three days from 21st to 23rd December in the state. The District Magistrate (DM) and Senior Superintendent Of Police (SSP) of Patna and Bhagalpur have been instructed by the Special Branch to maintain strict security during the visit. He is expected to land in Bhagalpur on the evening of 21st December where he will meet with RSS workers and take part in the event at Maharishi Mehi Ashram Kuppa Ghat on 22nd.
According to a letter from the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Mohan Bhagwat is under threat from the Communist Party of India (Maoist), several terrorist groups, Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Islamic fundamentalists. Therefore, impeccable and strong security arrangements are implemented at the events, trips and rest stops of the RSS chief.
Mohan Bhagwat has Z-Plus security, according to the letter from the Special Branch DIG in Patna to both districts in addition to Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) special security. It mentioned that appropriate traffic arrangements, route lining, intense patrols and Road Opening Party (ROP) should be maintained along Mohan Bhagwat’s circumambulation route. The venue should have adequate plans in place for pre-event access control, stringent entry control, checking, frisking, anti-sabotage checks, etc.
Furthermore, a sufficient number of police officers and policemen are to be deployed. The DIG directed that appropriate and strict security measures should be taken if another program is scheduled before or after the RSS chief. The special branch officials would gather the sources while on the ground, per the DIG. The special branch headquarters will be notified upon obtaining special information alongside the local administration. The top cop employed six people during the program, stay and overnight repose at the Maharishi Ashram at Kuppa Ghat, Bhagalpur.
An anti-sabotage investigation has been started in Bhagalpur by orders from the DIG of Special Branch, Patna Headquarters. Comprehensive vehicle checks have started at all district entrances and major thoroughfares. Apart from hotels and dharamshalas (spiritual homes), police have also been more visible at nearby lodges, surrounding localities and places related to the Sangh Chief’s circumambulation programme. The Crime Branch and Intelligence Bureau officers have also become engaged and are keeping an eye on the issue. They are gathering all relevant information about the occurrence and forwarding it to the relevant authorities.
Following a security briefing, local security measures were created by Headquarters DSP, Law and Order DSP, City SP Amit Ranjan, Range DIG Vivekananda, SSP Anand Kumar and City DSP Ajay Kumar Chaudhary. Anticipating the visit, itinerary and stay of the Sangh chief in these places, the roadways in Kotwali, Jogsar and the Barari police station areas are being fortified.
On Wednesday, December 20, the Central Investigation Bureau (CBI), informed a Mumbai court that it was verifying a letter submitted by actor Rhea Chakraborty where she sought suspension of a lookout circular against her. She claimed that she was the brand ambassador of the pet food firm and needed to travel abroad for work commitments. The CBI has issued the lookout circular in connection with a probe related to actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death in 2020.
The central agency revealed before the court that as claimed, actress Rhea Chakraborty is no longer the brand ambassador of Drools Pets Pvt. Ltd. and therefore she doesn’t require a suspension of lookout circular (LOC) notice to travel abroad. They confirmed that actor Kiara Advani had recently been made the brand ambassador of the company and thus there was no need for Chakraborty to go abroad.
The probe agency was responding to a plea filed by the actor for suspension of the LOC issued against her as part of its investigation into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
On December 15, Rhea Chakraborty submitted a petition to the court, through her attorney Prasanna Bhangale, to have a lookout circular against her revoked so that she may take a trip overseas from December 27 to January 2.
During the petition hearing, however, advocate Shreeram Shirsat for the CBI stated that a letter that was part of Chakraborty’s plea was “under scanner.” Shirsat went on to say that the agency had been informed that “someone else has already been appointed, and she (Chakraborty) was no longer the brand ambassador of Drools Pet Food Pvt Ltd.”
After hearing the CBI’s submission, Justices Ajay Gadkari and Shyam Chandak’s bench stated, “We will not be in any hurry. If CBI wants time to verify the genuineness of the letter, we have to give them time.”
Advocates Abhinav Chandrachud and Bhangale, appearing on Rhea Chakraborty’s behalf, requested the court that the agency may at least be directed to get back to the court by at least December 22 on the issue. The attorneys were expecting a hearing before December 23, as that is when the court vacation will start.
The bench, however, stated, “We cannot direct the investigating agency,” and gave Chakraborty’s lawyers the liberty to move the court during vacation on December 26.
It is notable here that actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead on 14th June 2020 under mysterious circumstances. While initial media reports suggested suicide, subsequently concerns were raised and many believe he was murdered. The case was subsequently taken over by NCB and CBI. The Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) filed a lawsuit against actor and Sushant’s ex-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty. Later, after Rajput’s father filed an FIR in Patna, the Supreme Court moved the investigation to the CBI. The CBI then issued these look-out circulars (LOCs) against Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty during the investigation. Now, due to a standing LOC, neither of them can travel abroad even if they get permission from the court to travel.
In the Wrestling Federations of India (WFI) elections held on Thursday (21st December), former WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh‘s close aide Sanjay Singh emerged as the winner. He will be the next president, showing that the wrestlers who protested against the former president do not enjoy much popularity. Sanjay Singh defeated former grappler Anita Sheoran in this election.
The voting was held earlier in the day in Delhi, and the votes were counted after that. The election of a new president means that the suspension of WFI by the global wrestling body United World Wrestling will be lifted. UWW had suspended WFI for failing to hold elections before the August deadline, and Indians wrestlers have been competing as neutral athletes at international events after that.
After winning the WFI election, Sanjay Kumar Singh said, “We will organise the national camp soon. We will not let go this year in vain. This is the year for the Olympics. Therefore we will organise the national camps so that our players can prepare for the games.”

The elections were held for 15 posts, including the president, treasurer, secretary-general, and senior vice-president. There were two candidates for the president’s position, former Commonwealth Games Gold medallist Anita Sheoran and Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Federation vice president Sanjay Singh. Anita Sheoran was backed by wrestlers who were protesting against the former president, including Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia, and Vinesh Phogat.
Sanjay Kumar Singh has been involved in the wrestling fraternity for a long time and is the vice president of the Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Association. He has been associated with the WFI for over a decade, he was part of the previous executive council and was also the joint secretary in 2019. He was backed by former president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
Meanwhile, wrestlers who had protested against BJP MP and former WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, accusing him of sexual harassment of multiple female wrestlers, have declared that they will hold a press conference after the WFI elections. Vinesh Phogat said in an X post, “There are wrestling association elections tomorrow. After the elections, we wrestlers will hold a press conference at 4 pm. All media persons are requested to attend the press conference. Location: Press Club of India, Delhi.”

Before the elections, former grappler Anita Sheoran had said that Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s control over WFI would continue if his loyalists like Sanjay Kumar, a vice-president of the Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Association win the WFI elections.

The protesting wrestlers had requested that Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and his aides should not allowed to contest elections. Therefore, Sanjay Singh’s election comes as a massive setback for them.
On Wednesday (December 20), Pakistani television actress Minal Khan took to her Instagram to share a picture of herself and a Christmas tree. The “Parchayee” fame actress captioned the picture as “Double trouble”. Minal Khan’s “double trouble” Instagram post, however, offended the perenially offended Islamists since a Christmas tree could be seen in the photo.
One Sumaiya Muhammad wrote, “Are you guys Christian? [Crying face emojis]”.
Another Instagram user named Javaid Mobeen claimed that Minal Khan was flaunting footwear of brands like Nike and Adidas which are on the “boycott list” of the Islamists since the Israel-Hamas War erupted following a massive terror attack by the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.
The Pakistani Islamist wrote, “wearing Adidas, Nike and showing it off as every one of us knows that those brands are on boycott list. Are we Muslims? Do we care? you holding your kids and forgetting about the kids being slaughtered by Zionist?”
Another one wrote, “They are wearing brands…standing with Christmas tree ..these are so called muslims.”
One Sharif opined that showing a Christmas tree reflects the actress’s “sick mentality and wrote, “Fitty mum what do they want to show the Christmas tree why… sick mentality.”
One Farzana wrote, “Ghaza is bleeding with innocent children blood and we Pakistani s shooting picture in front of Christmas tree ha……..”
A Bangladeshi Islamist also joined Pakistani Islamists in sending hate to the actress.
One Sonia Khan wrote, “Aunty, get your daughters dressing fixed, both are looking beghairat (shameless).”
In addition to the hateful comments regarding the Christmas tree and several brands on the boycott list, Khan’s post is flooded with numerous age and weight-shaming comments as well with many calling the actress and the other two women seen in the picture “cows”, “bhainsain (buffaloes), aunties, “mote haathi (fat elephants)” and whatnot.

This, however, is not the first time that Pakistani Islamists have attacked a celebrity for respecting or celebrating festivals of non-Muslims. In April this year, popular Pakistani actress Hania Amir found herself at the receiving end of a severe social media backlash after she posted pictures captioned, ‘mini photoshoots and massages,’ of herself posing in front of a clay Ganesha idol, on her Instagram account. She was vehemently attacked by her Muslim followers who expressed ferocious opposition and even unfollowed her for offending their religious sensibilities. The Islamists accused the actress of committing “Shirk” by posing with an idol of a Hindu deity.
