In an update to the ‘cash for query scam’ in which TMC MP Mahua Moitra has been accused of misusing her Parliamentary privilege for monetary benefits, it has come to the fore that the TMC MP’s parliamentary login was accessed 49 times from Dubai.
According to the exclusive report by Times Now, The IT ministry stated that it has sent a report to the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee confirming that the TMC leader’s parliamentary ID was accessed 49 times from Dubai.
It is notable here that businessman Darshan Hiranandani, who has admitted to getting access to Mahua Moitra’s Lok Sabha login ID and password, lives in Dubai.
Moitra is scheduled to appear before the ethics panel on November 2. Moitra earlier confirmed to the media that she shared her login ID details with Darshan Hiranandani, the CEO of Hiranandani Group.
Moitra meanwhile has written to the Ethics committee of Lok Sabha saying that she should be permitted to cross-examine Darshan Hiranandani. “I wish to place on record that, in keeping with the principles of natural justice, I wish to exercise my right to cross-examine Hiranandani,” she said in a letter directed to the committee. The TMC MP also added that Hiranandani has provided no documentary evidence to back his allegation.
Since Ethics Committee deemed it fit to release my summons to the media I think it is important I too release my letter to the Committee before my “hearing” tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/A8MwFRsImk
The update comes days after BJP Lok Sabha MP Nishikant Dubey alleged that the TMC leader had mortgaged the national security for her monetary benefits. He stated that the TMC leader’s parliamentary ID was used in Dubai when she was present in India. He also noted that the entire government functionaries including the Prime Minister are present on the National Informatics Centre (NIC) portal which was allegedly being operated from Dubai at the behest of the TMC leader.
The Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha is overseeing the matter and the IT Ministry has also now confirmed that MP Moitra’s parliamentary login was accessed at least 49 times from Dubai.
Earlier on 19th October, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra issued a two-page ‘statement’ hours after Darshan Hiranandani, the CEO of Hiranandani Group submitted an affidavit before the Ethics Committee of Parliament.
Moitra called the letter a ‘joke’ and alleged that “a gun was put to Hiranandani’s head” to ‘force’ him to sign a white piece of paper with no letterhead. She had even raised questions on the authenticity of the letter. However, Darshan Hiranandani soon released a signed affidavit submitted at the Indian consulate in UAE.
Interestingly, while she argued that there was no way a wealthy businessman like Darshan Hiranandani who has access to PMO and ministers would be compelled by a first-time MP like her, she did not deny taking gifts from the businessman.
Moreover, she did not refute the most controversial accusation about the “cash-for-query” scam, which is sharing her parliament login credentials with Hiranandani to target Gautam Adani.
Turning an approver in the case, Darshan Hiranandani had admitted in an affidavit that Mahua Moitra gave him parliamentary login credentials and took luxury gifts for asking questions that were targeted against Adani.
Detailed reports on the entire controversy can be read here.
The Hindu’s fortnightly magazine ‘Frontline’ has now officially taken a stand justifying and whitewashing the atrocities committed by Hamas against Israel’s civilian population on the 7th of October 2023. In an ‘editors note’ published on the 30th of October, FrontLine essentially responded to why it refuses to condemn Islamic terror outfit Hamas. This ‘Frontline’ perhaps felt the need to justify its support to terror after the Israeli Ambassador to India had written a scathing open letter to The Hindu for interviewing Mousa Abu Marzouk – a Hamas official.
The Editor of Frontline, Vaishna Roy, took to X to share the despicable note that she penned in the magazine.
Editor’s Note: "When one hears Israeli leaders use the word “Nazi” to describe their enemies and accuse Palestinian supporters of being anti-Semitic, one sees the deep psychological displacement at play." @frontline_indiahttps://t.co/tj5XXdgX1X
The note by Roy essentially starts by insinuating that the Jews, who were the victims of the Holocaust, have now morphed into the perpetrators of the same atrocities against other people – Palestinians.
Roy writes, “When one hears Israeli leaders repeatedly use the word “Nazi” to describe their enemies, repeatedly accuse Palestinian supporters of being anti-Semitic, repeatedly claim that their powerhouse of a nation is the victim, one sees the deep psychological displacement at play. The Zionists have taken their generational rage and turned it not against the powerful West, whose arms and support they need, but against the hapless people on whose lands they have settled”.
At the very outset, Roy sets the base to justify the terrorism that claimed the lives of women, children and the elderly on the 7th of October 2023 when Hamas, for over 8 hours, went on a rampage of unbridled violence against the Israeli civilian population. Not only does she equate the victims – the Jews – to the perpetrators of their genocide – the Nazis, but also insinuates that anti-semitism is a figment of their imagination – a sentiment of absolute hate the world has seen play out during various “protest marches” by Muslims, chanting for the annihilation of Jews.
The crafty insinuation which was far more telling was her snicker at the fact that a “powerhouse of a nation” can ever claim to be the victim. Essentially what Roy was saying is that because Israel is financially and militarily far superior to several nations across the world, it can never claim itself to be the victim of terrorism. Perhaps it would help Roy to understand how terrorism works. Powerful nations with economic and military might win wars owing to that power, however, wars like the one Israel is fighting are generally ‘after the fact’. Terrorist groups and terror nations don’t particularly stick to rules of engagement, international conventions and military ethics. They are human bombs whose sole aim is to inflict damage, for the sake of their vengeful God. What makes them far more dangerous is that death in the process of fighting these “powerful nations”, which are viewed to be the enemies of their fanatic religious campaign, is in itself a reward by their God. When a “powerful nation” is faced with religious mercenaries for whom death itself is a religious reward by God himself, and the worst atrocities against innocent people a not only a tool to achieve that reward but also ordained by their scripture, the “powerful nation” and their people are the victims – notwithstanding their economic or military might.
Essentially, the asymmetrical battle is between an all-powerful nation and an all-powerful, vengeful God – a claim by Roy’s mythical ‘victims’ themselves. The ‘all-powerful nation’ is bound by the rules of a civilised nation. Those who fight for an ‘all-powerful God’ adhere to no rules of the civilised world. They adhere to the rules set by their all-powerful God – a God which allows them, nay, ordains them, to murder those who don’t believe in him in the most brutal way known to man. A modern powerful nation is no match to those who believe in a medieval religious war. They never were. They never will be. Europe, which prided itself on being the birthplace of modernity and at one point ruled the entire world is learning this lesson bit by bit – the lessons are brutal, bloody and excruciating – a pain that, according to the ‘faithfuls’, they are destined to endure. Vaishna Roy wants Israelis to die with a smile on their face because they are rich, being murdered by those perceived to be poor – that is not how the world works – except in a communist’s deranged head.
Roy in her note counts the dead bodies and compares those lost by Israel and Palestine. She writes, “Yom Kippur, 1973, saw 2,700 Israeli deaths and 19,000 Arab/Palestinian deaths. In the First Lebanon War, the numbers were 1,200 and 20,000. First Intifada: 179 and 1,200; Second Intifada: 900 and 3,300. The four Gaza Wars: 144 Israeli deaths and 4,800 Palestinian deaths. As this goes to press, the corresponding numbers for the ongoing war are 1,400 and 7,300, respectively. Hamas has stones, homemade rockets, tractors, and motorcycles. Israel has the world’s most sophisticated weapons. Israel is a nuclear nation while the Palestinians barely have a nation. Wasn’t it Voltaire who said killing is a crime unless you “kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets”?”
What Roy writes here summarily exposes how she has, summarily, decided to be an ally of Islamic Jihad. The Yom Kippur War, for example, was a surprise attack by the Arab-Egypt coalition. It is also known as the Ramadan war because the ‘faithfuls’ believe it is their religious duty to fight and kill the infidels and that holy war, becomes a bit sweeter if the death and destruction are caused on the non-believer’s religious observance day. That Israel was simply better at mounting an offensive, causing more casualties to those who started the war, does not take away from the fact that they were the ones who were attacked. What is far more telling is that Roy even counts the deaths during the Intifadas. The Intifadas were, again, religious wars where the riots and violence were initiated by the Jihadis and sustained by them as well. During the first four years of the Intifada, more than 3,600 Molotov cocktail attacks, 100 hand grenade attacks and 600 assaults with guns or explosives were reported by the Israel Defense Forces. The violence was directed at soldiers and civilians alike. During this period, 16 Israeli civilians and 11 soldiers were killed by Palestinians in the territories; more than 1,400 Israeli civilians and 1,700 Israeli soldiers were injured. Approximately 1,100 Palestinians were killed in clashes with Israeli troops.
There was instigation from the mosques of Palestine to kill Jews, justification for the genocide of their people and everything that we see the world over when the innocent faithfuls decide to rise against the infidels. After the unbridled violence by Jihadis, Israel defended itself. That defence in itself becomes a reason for Roy to dismiss assertions of the Jews being the victims of Jihad.
Vaishna Roy’s shameless apologia for Jihad becomes painfully obvious as she concludes her note. She writes the following:
A part of the FrontLine editors note
“We are being harangued to condemn Hamas, but Hamas was not begotten in a vacuum. It was born from the bloody union of broken promises and daily humiliations, settler violence and soldier atrocities. Hamas was midwifed when basic humanitarian values were aborted. When UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said exactly this, pointing to the “56 years of suffocating occupation” the Palestinian people have suffered, Israel called for his resignation”, she says.
Before we dissect what she has written, let us recap how this war started – what happened on the 7th of October 2023.
On the 7th, Israel woke up to her worst nightmare. As the sirens blared and citizens of Israel looked for shelter, a couple of thousand Islamic terrorists from Hamas attacked the bewildered civilians from air, sea and land. As thousands of rockets and missiles rained down on Israel leaving in its wake destruction and a trail of dead bodies strewn on the streets, hundreds of terrorists on motorbikes, on foot and followed by tractors breached the fence separating Israel from Gaza. Simultaneously, terrorists also attached the beaches of Israel riding on motorbikes, overwhelming the unsuspecting Israeli soldiers. As the embers and smoke engulfed Israel, some of the Islamic terrorists descended on paragliders.
After descending on Israel, the terrorists went city to city, village to village and kibbutz to kibbutz hunting down women, children and men alike. The visuals from the assault could perhaps be classified as traumatising, but worlds fall short when the Jihadi barbarity is laid threadbare, captured in images of charred bodies, burnt babies, raped and dishonoured women, and bloodied and murdered men. Several Jews were taken hostage by the terrorists as they cried and screamed for help, amidst the chants of Allahu Akbar, they were beaten, spat on, dishonoured and kidnapped – carried at the back of their trucks to Gaza.
The wound of seeing babies bloodied and murdered is one that Israel and the Jewish community would perhaps never be able to heal from. From babies who slept peacefully in their cribs to partygoers dancing their worries away, where 260 of them were slaughtered, the Muslim terrorists spared none. There are painful eyewitness accounts of women being raped, dismembered, burnt alive and tortured, There are testimonies of babies, and toddlers being burnt alive, dismembered, shot and killed. There are testimonies and documented evidence of the brutality that Hamas inflicted. Beheadings. Rapes. Murders. Tortures. Kidnappings and worse – amidst chants of Allahu Akbar.
After the terror attack by Hamas, Israel decided to defend itself and unleashed its military might to ensure Hamas – a terrorist organisation – is wiped out. Israel was defending its citizens and also attempting to recover the hundreds of hostages that Hamas had taken. What is pertinent to remember here that Hamas knew this was a war they would not win. They knew that their treacherous attack would lead to Israel using its military might to ensure the hostages were freed and also, that Hamas was wiped off the face of the earth. They still chose to attack Israeli citizens because that is the zealotry that Holy Wars inspire among the followers of the all-powerful God.
Vaishna Roy essentially says that the Jews are Nazis because they chose to retaliate after women, children, babies and the elderly were tortured by Islamic terrorists. In the same breath, she also says that her magazine will simply not condemn Hamas because their action is a result of oppression.
The reduction of that is simple – Hamas has a right to rape, torture, and behead civilians because they have supposedly been oppressed. They should not be condemned, rather, their barbarity must be understood in context. The language of the victims, so to speak. However, when those being raped, tortured and beheaded decide to say “thus far and no further”, they automatically become Nazis deserving annihilation because any form of retaliation against the Jihadis is “collective punishment” which further victimises the very Jihadis who raped, tortured and beheaded to avenge the oppression that the rapists and murderers experienced, leading them to rape, behead and torture innocent civilians.
Further, it is evident that Roy is not particlarly concerned about the lives of Palestinians. If she were, she would, ideally be, a voice against Hamas. Hamas is no friend of the Palestinians. They use Palestinians as human shields, especially children, make hundreds of kilometers of tunnels were civilians are not allowed to take shelter, use aid money to buy weapons and deprive the Palestinians of a normal life. Even if we choose to ignore that Palestinians themselves overwhelmingly support Hamas, if Roy was so concerned, she should be picking her pen up to fight against Hamas, not be their ally.
This may seem like intellectual masturbation at best and harakiri at worst, however, it is far more sinister than one imagines – sinister beyond just the context of Israel and Palestine. The overarching and blanket classification of all Muslims as the perennially oppressed endorses their delusion that owing to this mythical oppression, they are allowed to carry out their blood lust for those who refuse to believe in their all-powerful God. Every atrocity, every act of violence, every beheading, every rape, every riot, every stone thrown, every molotov cocktail hurled, every woman stripped, every baby killed, every innocent tortured, every person dismembered is the “language of the oppressed” and therefore, is not only pardonable but even understandable, or worse, acceptable. This delusion of Hamas collaborators like Vaishna Roy puts every Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Christian, Parsi, Sikh etc at the risk of an impending genocide. This delusion of Jihadi collaborators like Vaishna Roy will ensure that when the next genocide happens, it is contextualised and supported in the name of vengeance for those who used the blanket victimhood handed over to them by these very Jihadi collaborators as a convenient excuse for their Holy War.
An FIR has been registered against Samajwadi Party MLA Shazil Islam under the SC/ST Act in the Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh for allegedly assaulting and hurling casteist slurs at his driver. Complainant Dharmendra who hails from the Dalit (Scheduled Caste) community alleged that MLA Shazil Islam Ansari slapped him and used casteist abuses against him on Saturday (28th October) over the cleanliness of his car.
Reportedly, the Samajwadi Party MLA from Bhojipura Shazil Islam was to catch a train for Bareilly from Lucknow. According to complainant Dharmendra Kumar, a resident of Prem Nagar in Bareilly, he arrived at the railway station on Friday (27th October) night, however, the train was late by many hours and he fell asleep while waiting for the Samajwadi Party MLA.
When the train arrived in the wee hours of Saturday, MLA Shazil Islam Ansari reached near the car and said the car is dirty. To this, as claimed by the Dalit victim, he told the MLA that the car got dirty as it was parked at the railway station for many hours. This, however, enraged the Samajwadi Party MLA who allegedly slapped and abused Kumar.
“Kutte gaadi saaf kar (Clean the car, you dog)! Tum Dhobi kapde hi saaf kar paate ho gaadi nahi chala paate (You Dhobis can only clean clothes and cannot drive the car),” MLA Shazil Islam allegedly said. When victim Dharmendra Kumar objected to the MLA’s casteist remarks, the MLA lost his cool and slapped the driver and threatened to get him abducted from his home boasting that Kumar does not know who he (Shazil Islam) is. “Ghar se uthwa lunga. Saale jaanta nahi mujhe..,” the MLA reportedly said and went away with his gunman Salim leaving the victim alone at the station.
Following this, Dharmendra Kumar dialled 112 to call the police and informed them about the matter. As the incident transpired in the precinct of Bareilly junction, the Government Railway Police (GRP) registered a case against the accused MLA under the provisions of the SC/ST Act and other relevant sections.
“The MLA slapped me and addressed me in a language which hurt me. He took the car himself, leaving me at the railway station,” the victim stated in the FIR.
Meanwhile, Inspector Ajit Pratap Singh, Government Railway Police (GRP), Bareilly junction said “The MLA has been booked under IPC sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 503 (criminal intimidation) and the relevant sections of the SC/ST Act. We are analysing the CCTV footage to ascertain the facts. So far, we have not taken action against the MLA as our probe is ongoing.”
The Samajwadi Party MLA has refuted the allegations levelled against him and claimed that the driver was drunk on Friday night adding that he did not slap or abuse him.
Notably, Samajwadi Party legislator Shazil Islam Ansari has often been in controversy over his inflammatory statements. In April last year, the Bhojipura MLA and some other Samajwadi Party leaders were booked for threatening Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath saying if he makes any “noise” now, the SP guns will “not emit smoke, but fire bullets”. Subsequently, the MLA’s illegal petrol pump was razed by the district authorities and its license was also cancelled forcing the Samajwadi Party leader to plead for help before the CM.
On Tuesday (31st October), the former Chairman of the Delhi Minorities Commission, Zafarul Islam Khan, courted controversy after he called for the persecution of 8 ex-Indian Navy officers, who were handed the death penalty by the Qatari government.
In a tweet (archive), he claimed, “There must be no sympathy if these ex-Navy officers really spied for Israel. India must properly investigate before jumping to defend them.”
At a time when former Indian Navy officers are facing the death penalty over unsubstantiated charges of espionage, Zafarul Islam Khan lent credence to the outlandish claims.

With the assumption that the Indian nationals were guilty, he appeared to side with the decision by Qatar to execute them. Zafarul Islam Khan was seen directing the Indian government to investigate the matter before ‘jumping to conclusions’, even though the latter has already rubbished the claims.
This is however not the first time when the former Chairman of the Delhi Minorities Commission prioritised his religion over the interests of India. In April 2020, he shared a provocative post on Facebook to thank Kuwait for “standing with the Indian Muslims”.
Zafarul Islam Khan attacked the Hindus by referring to them as “Hindutva bigots”, who according to him miscalculated the reaction of the Arab world to the “persecution of Muslims in India”.
Screengrab of the FB post by Zafarul Islam Khan
In his post, Khan went on to assert that Indian Muslims enjoy huge goodwill in the Arab and Muslim world for their services over centuries to Islamic causes. His post comes amidst reports that Kuwait had expressed concern regarding the alleged atrocities against Muslims in the country amidst coronavirus outbreak.
“Mind you, bigots, Indian Muslims have opted until now not to complain to the Arab and Muslim world about your hate campaigns and lynchings and riots. The day they are pushed to do that, bigots will face avalanche,” the ex-Chairman of the Delhi Minorities Commission added.
The Special Cell of the Delhi Police reportedly had booked Zafarul Islam, the then Chairman of the Delhi Minorities Commission, for sedition (IPC Section 124A) and promoting religious animosity (IPC Section 153A).
Later, he tendered an apology saying that his statement was a little ‘out of proportion’ and that he would continue to defend India on crucial issues as doing otherwise would be against the Constitution and his religious beliefs.
In April 2022, Zafarul Islam Khan went on to downplay the atrocities perpetrated by Islamists in Khargone during Ram Navami. He took to Twitter to call out a Hindu victim of the Khargone violence who had spoken to the media about the betrayal he faced from his Muslim neighbours.
This is fake. The so-called oft-quoted "victim" is unknown.
Advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai, the ex-boyfriend of TMC MP Mahua Moitra who leveled serious allegations of bribery, and parliamentary misconduct against her, has posted a cryptic message on X, saying that ‘the person’ has committed a crime far worse.
The person accused of corruption and compromising national security is guilty of something far worse – and no – I’m not talking about the theft of my dog. pic.twitter.com/7q9vsLViR0
Without mentioning Mahua Moitra, or anyone else, Dehadrai has written, “The person accused of corruption and compromising national security is guilty of something far worse – and no – I’m not talking about the theft of my dog.”
Jai Anant has not named anyone in his post, nor has he given any hint on what could be a crime far worse than corruption and compromising on national security.
People responding to his post on X asked what could be worse than the things he has alleged, and asked him to come up and ‘expose her’.
Responses on Jai Anant’s cryptic post
It is notable here that Dehadrai has accused Moitra of stealing his beloved pet dog Henry and trying to use his love for the dog to make him drop the allegations against her.
Jai Anant has approached the Delhi Police to regain custody of his dog and keeps posting nostalgic photos and videos of his beloved Rottweiler named Henry.
On 20th October, Jai Anant objected to lawyer Gopal Sankaranarayanan appearing for the MP in the defamation lawsuit in Delhi High Court. Jai Anant had stated that lawyer Gopal Sankaranarayanan had approached him the previous day on behalf of Mahua Moitra and told him that if he (Jai Anant) wants his dog Henry back, he should drop the CBI complaint against Mahua Moitra.
Following the objection, lawyer Gopal Sankaranarayanan had withdrawn from the case and had announced that he would not represent Mahua anymore.
Advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai had shared earlier that Mahua Moitra had kidnapped his beloved pet dog Henry and has been keeping him away from his dog. Mahua and Jai Anant were in a relationship earlier. Mahua has claimed that the allegations against her are a jilted ex’s response to the break-up.
On 19th October, businessman Darshan Hiranandani, in a 3-page affidavit, admitted to paying Mahua Moitra with expensive gifts, cash, and spending huge amounts of money for her house renovation, travels, and other luxuries in exchange for specific questions in the Lok Sabha. He also admitted that Moitra had shared his Lok Sabha login credentials with him to pose questions that targeted the business interests of his rival Adani Group.
Advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai had filed a complaint with CBI, accusing Mahua Moitra of corruption, bribery and taking lavish gifts from businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for asking Lok Sabha questions targeted on the businesses of Adani Group, Hiranandani’s rivals. Based on Dehadrai’s complaint, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey submitted a formal complaint to the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla seeking an inquiry against Moitra. He urged the Speaker for her immediate suspension. Moitra is scheduled to appear before the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee this week.
Detailed reports on the entire controversy can be read here.
On Monday (30th October), the Jammu and Kashmir Police filed a chargesheet in the murder case of Dr Sumedha Sharma, a Hindu dentist who was stabbed to death by her ‘friend’ Johar Mehmood Ganai.
The chargesheet, running up to 1249 pages, was filed against Ganai under Section 302 (murder) and 309 (attempt to commit suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police had submitted the chargesheet before the local court. In March this year, the 26-year-old dentist Sumedha Sharma was brutally murdered by her male ‘friend’ Johar Mehmood Ganai on the outskirts of Janipur city of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the reports, the incident took place on the occasion of Holi. Dr Sharma was murdered by Ganai after she reached his house in Pamposh Colony. The duo engaged in an argument, in the rage of which the accused grabbed a butcher knife from his kitchen and stabbed the woman.
Later, he also stabbed himself and attempted to commit suicide. However, the accused posted on Facebook before stabbing himself, saying that he was committing suicide as he was fed up with his life.
One of his relatives happened to see the post and informed the Janipur Police about the matter. The police immediately reached the spot but found the main gate of the house locked from the inside. On breaking into the house, the police team saw the accused in critical condition with stab injuries in his abdomen.
They also found Dr Sumedha Sharma’s body lying nearby. Reports mention that the woman was lying in a pool of blood on the floor and also had stab injuries in the abdomen. The accused was then shifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he underwent treatment.
On 31st October, Iran-backed Houthis rebels in Yemen claimed responsibility for launching missile and drone attacks on the Israeli city of Eilat and vowed to continue targeting the Jewish state. Seemingly with this, the Iran-backed Houthi group has officially joined the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.
The development comes after Israel’s military informed that it shot down approaching “aerial targets” off the Red Sea city of Eilat. It asserted that the attacks were launched by the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen. These attacks were aimed at the southernmost city of Eilat but they were neutralised before they could enter Israeli territory, the Israeli military said.
The IDF added, “All the threats were intercepted outside the territory of the State of Israel. No intrusion into Israeli territory was detected.”
Strikingly, the Israeli military said that the Arrow air defense system intercepted a surface-to-surface missile launched from the “Red Sea area” at Israel. This was the first operational use of the long-range system during the war with Hamas.

Following Israel’s allegations, the Houthi outfit said that it launched a “large number” of drones and missiles towards the Israeli city. In a televised statement, the spokesperson for the Houthis, Yahya Sria said that it was the third attack that targeted Israel adding that there would be more such attacks.
Iran‘s proxy in Yemen got activated. Keep in mind that China has brokered a deal between Iran & Saudi Arabia that led to the normalization of the bilateral ties but also to truce in Yemen between the Iran backed Houthi rebels and Saudi backed government. pic.twitter.com/YFlYo3BtNb
Sria said that the aerial assault, comprising drones as well as ballistic and cruise missiles, was carried out “out of a sense of religious, moral, humanitarian, and national responsibility” for the people of Gaza, in the face of the weakness of the Arab world, and of the collusion of some Arab countries with Israel.”
He added that the operation was prompted by “the demands of the Yemeni people.”
Strikingly, the Iranian-backed Houthis slogan is “Death to America, Death to Israel, Curse the Jews, Victory to Islam.”
Earlier in the day (31st October), Abdelaziz bin Habtour, prime minister of the Houthi government, said that “these drones belong to the state of Yemen.” He added that they are fighting with “words and drones.”
The Houthis seized Yemen’s capital Sanaa in 2014 and control large swaths of the country. They are considered “part of the axis of resistance” against Israel along with the terrorist outfit Hamas which is also backed by Tehran.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday morning (local time), suspected drone infiltration sirens sounded in the Israeli city of Eilat. Initially, the IDF stated that it had identified an “aerial target” approaching Israeli territory. Later, it confirmed that fighter jets had intercepted two targets, believed to have been drones launched from Yemen.
It is important to note that people by lakhs in numbers have been displaced after the 7th October terrorist attack and incursion by the Hamas terrorists on southern Israel and Hezbollah attacks in the north. These displaced Israelis have been temporarily housed in the southern resort city which has now become the target point for Iran-backed terror outfits.
Prior to that, on Friday (27th October), a fighter jet intercepted a target over the Red Sea which was apparently a drone heading for Israel. It was intercepted shortly after an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) slammed into the Egyptian town of Taba on the Red Sea, wounding six people.
According to the IDF, the early-morning strike in Taba originated from “the Red Sea area.” It was apparently a reference to Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.
Taba is situated on the Israeli border, approximately 10 kilometers (six miles) away from Eilat.
The explosions in Egypt followed an incident where Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen attempted to launch missiles towards Israel through the Red Sea earlier this month. The Pentagon confirmed that a US Navy warship intercepted three missiles fired by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, possibly targeting Israel, as they headed north.
At around 6:04 PM IST on 23rd August, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scripted history by demonstrating soft-landing capabilities on the lunar surface. Evidently, the moment Vikram’s lander touched the lunar south pole, India became the first nation to achieve this momentous feat. Now, almost two months after the momentous success, another untold success related to Chandrayaan-3 has come to the fore.
Conspicuously, the propulsion module in the lunar mission which has been orbiting the Moon is powered by nuclear technology, the Times of India reported on 31st October (Tuesday).
Speaking to TOI on Monday (30th October), Atomic Energy Commission chairman Ajit Kumar Mohanty confirmed this scientific achievement. Mohanty said that he is happy that India’s nuclear sector could become a part of such an important space mission.
The propulsion module is equipped with two radioisotope heating units (RHU) that are designed and developed by BARC, ISRO officials were quoted as saying by TOI. This cooperation reportedly makes it the first major joint project of ISRO and BARC.
These two RHUs generate one watte and keep the spacecraft at their operational temperatures.
Earlier on Sunday (29th October), Chandrayaan 3 project director P Veeramuthuvel asserted that ISRO may soon use nuclear resources to maintain instruments in future rovers.
However, the ISRO officials emphasised that the RHUs could not be installed on Chandrayaan 3’s Vikram lander and Pragyan rover because it would have increased their mass. Whereas, the RHUs were installed in the propulsion module for the purpose of experimentation and demonstration. An official said, “They have been functioning flawlessly. It’s the first major joint project of ISRO and BARC.”
Earlier spacecraft that have used RHUs include NASA’s Galileo spacecraft to Jupiter, Cassini spacecraft to Saturn, and Voyagers aircrafts 1 and 3.
Meanwhile, during the course of its operation, the Vikram lander and Pragyan rover conducted several scientific experiments and confirmed the presence of Sulphur (S) on the lunar surface near the south pole. ISRO also found traces of various elements that were anticipated to be present on the lunar surface including Aluminum (Al), Calcium (Ca), Iron (Fe), Chromium (Cr), Titanium (Ti), Manganese (Mn), Silicon (Si), and Oxygen (O).
Prior to that, ISRO shared some high-quality images of the lunar surface from the navigational camera. The space agency revealed that it successfully navigated a massive 4-metre diameter crater which was located on the earlier path of Pragyan rover.
Additionally, ISRO added another historic feat when it shared the first-ever temperature profile of the lunar south pole. Back then, the Space Agency shared that temperature sharply changes at various depths highlighting that the temperature difference could be as high as 10°C in a meager depth of 2 cm.
Interestingly, on 4th September, ISRO announced that Vikram Lander exceeded its mission objectives as it successfully performed the ‘hop’ experiment. In the experiment, it landed again on the moon’s surface after elevating itself by 40 centimetres and travelling to another location nearby.
A Jammu and Kashmir Police official was shot dead by terrorists at his residence in Baramulla, police said on Tuesday.

This is the third such attack in three days in Jammu and Kashmir.
On 30th October, terrorists opened fire and killed a migrant worker from Uttar Pradesh. The labourer, identified as Mahesh, was shot in the Timchi Nowpora area of district Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. He later succumbed to his injuries.
The attack on Mahesh was the second such attack on migrant workers in 2023. On 13th June, a migrant worker from Bihar was injured after terrorists opened fire at him at the Gagran village of district Sopian in South Kashmir. In 2022, 10 migrants, including a bank manager from Rajasthan and a teacher, were killed, and over a dozen were injured in terrorist attacks in Kashmir.
A day earlier, on October 29, terrorists shot and critically injured Inspector Masroor Ahmed at point-blank in Eidgah ground of Srinagar while he was playing cricket.
On Tuesday (31st October), Mosab Hassan Yousef, disowned son of a senior Hamas terrorist group leader in the West Bank revealed that Yahya Sinwar who is the current Palestinian leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip is hiding under the Al-Shifa Hospital. Yousef also said that he is using the patients at the hospital as a shield to protect himself.
A video of Mosab Hassan Yousef is going viral over the internet in which he can be heard saying that Sinwar had once mercilessly killed someone with a sink while he was in prison on the suspicion of collaborating with Israel. “This guy Sinwar, is a hardcore guy. He beheaded someone in prison for suspicion of collaborating with Israel using the sink of the bathroom. Merciless. This is the guy who is in charge of Hamas in Gaza today. He is under the ground, most likely under Al-Shifa hospital,” Yousef said.
He said that the Hamas in charge was using the patients at the hospital as human shields to protect himself. He also added that Hamas is not just a political terror group. It is a religious terror group. “If it was a political terrorist group, we could have put enough pressure on them to compromise and come up with a solution and drop violence. But Hamas, cannot bend because they prefer to die and not to drop their ideology. They think of themselves as holy warriors,” he added.

He further added that Hamas’ only mission is to destroy Israel. “They want to force 10 million Israelis to relocate as a condition to build their Islamic state. We cannot give them what they are asking for,” he was quoted.
Earlier on 29th October, Yousef in an interview on the show ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ had said that since its establishment, Hamas has one goal in mind, which is annihilating the State of Israel. “It’s not a secret that Hamas wants to destroy the State of Israel. They cannot accept Israel or accept Israel’s right to exist,” he said.
Yousef is a descendant of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a co-founder of Hamas. He is known for writing books named ‘Son of Hamas’ and ‘Preach the Word Prophecy Conference’. For his efforts to assist the Shin Bet in thwarting terror attacks during the Second Intifada in the early 2000s, he was dubbed “Green Prince”, which is also the title of a 2014 documentary based on his autobiography. The 45-year-old Ramallah native vividly recalls Hamas’s inception in 1986.
On October 7, over 2,500 Hamas terrorists invaded Israel by land, air, and sea, killing 1,400 people, the vast majority of whom were civilians, and kidnapping 230 people, including 30 children. The smallest is nine months old. Entire families were massacred in their homes, and over 260 people were slaughtered at an outdoor music festival.
The terrorists raped the Israeli women and also didn’t spare the elders and the children. The videos of these horrific incidents were also made viral. The attack on Israel by the Hamas terrorists marks the most brutal attack against Jews after the Holocaust.
After the attack by Hamas, Israel launched a counter-attack on Gaza. Over 5,000 Palestinians have been killed so far, including women and children as well as journalists, medical workers, and first responders, with more than 15,000 injured. IDF has been asking Gazans to move away from Northern Gaza but Egypt has closed the Rafah crossing and has declared that it won’t allow any refugees from Gaza.
