In an unusual incident reported from Germany, hundreds of individuals dressed as dogs gathered outside a Berlin train station this week barking and howling like dogs. The humans dressed as dogs had gathered for the rights of people who identify as ‘dogs’. The video of the incident went massively viral over the internet with netizens showering bizarre reactions.
The gathering was held in Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz railway station. It was apparently organized by ‘Canine Beings,’ a group that works for “the rights of people who identify as dogs”, some people shared.

The event was organized by a group called "Canine Beings."
X’s community notes has added a note to provide some added context to the viral video. “This gathering occurred during Folsom Europe, which is a gathering of gay men who are into various fetishes. This particular fetish is called pup play, and these individuals, mostly young, are cosplaying. Most do not believe they are dogs but are wearing a fetish costume”, the note said.
A gathering of an estimated 1,000 persons was witnessed during the event. Members of the group were dressed in canine masks and headpieces, and several appeared to be carrying flags, including one displaying a rainbow.
The netizens expressed shock over the incident and called the gathering ‘crazy’. Some also indicated that a new pattern of living had been unlocked by the persons who identified themselves as dogs.

One of the users commented that “the attendees wore realistic full-body costumes or masks, while others wore collars, leashes or muzzles. They communicated with each other by howling, barking, or wagging their ‘tails’. They also played fetch, chased each other, or sniffed around.”

The user added that the attendees believe that they face discrimination and harassment from society, and demand recognition and respect for their choice.
“The explosion of gender identities is a recurring sign of cultural collapse throughout the history of civilization,” another user commented.

According to the reports, this incident follows in the wake of a Japanese person making headlines after purchasing a realistic-looking dog suit worth roughly $22,000 (Rs 18 lakh) to fulfill his one-of-a-kind dream of being a dog. The man prefers anonymity and goes by the nickname Toco.
Toco’s ‘I Want to Be an Animal’ YouTube channel has over 56,000 subscribers. He posted a video explaining his dream a year ago which garnered a million views.
Reports mention that Toco has always wanted to be a dog since he was a child. He eventually commissioned a crude collie outfit from the Japanese company Zeppet, which creates costumes for TV advertisements and films. He stated that he opted to be a rough collie due to its large size, which would make him stand out.
In 2016, a documentary named ‘The Secret Life of Human Pups’ was made to show the lives of people who prefer to live dressed as dogs. It featured several people around Europe who prefer to dress up like dogs and live with dog names like Spot, Hexy and Tebo. The documentary stated that the idea grew from BDSM groups where some people preferred to live dressed as dogs.
On Friday, September 21, the Supreme Court rejected the plea seeking the manufacture, sale and use of green firecrackers. The apex court also refused to interfere with the Delhi government’s decision to ban the use of firecrackers in Delhi ahead of Diwali.
The court added that the 2018 ban shall be duly enforced by all authorities.

On September 14, the two-judge bench of justices AS Bopanna and MM Sundresh reserved the order after hearing the matter at length. It had said that it would consider whether the manufacture and use of green crackers can be permitted or not and reserved the order on the issue.
The top court was dealing with the issue relating to firecrackers. One of the pleas was filed by BJP leader Manoj Tiwari in 2022, challenging the blanket ban on firecrackers during Diwali celebrations in Delhi.
A day before, on September 13, the Supreme Court declared that it wouldn’t interfere in the ban on the production, sale, storage, and utilization of all types of firecrackers in Delhi during this Diwali season. The ban has been re-imposed by the Delhi government.
A bench comprised of Justices AS Bopanna and MM Sundresh indicated that some different ways to celebrate Deiwali should be adopted. This is after BJP Lok Sabha MP Manoj Tiwari stated before the court that the ban had been re-imposed despite the court allowing the bursting of green firecrackers.
“There are many states imposing complete ban despite the orders of this court,” counsel representing Tiwari argued. The court responded to this by saying, “Locally if there is a ban, there is a ban. We will not interfere. You can find other ways to celebrate.”
The apex court asked Delhi police to not issue temporary licences for the sale of firecrackers in Delhi.
Every year, the issue of a ban on firecrackers arises ahead of Diwali, blaming the Hindu celebration for the severe air pollution experienced by Delhi and surrounding areas throughout the fall season. Every year, Diwali is targeted, despite studies showing that the festival’s contribution to air pollution is negligible and temporary, with the major causes being stubble burning by farmers in neighbouring states, vehicles and construction activities, weather patterns, and the geographical location of the area.
On Wednesday (September 20), the Hindu Forum Canada (HFC) wrote a letter addressed to Canada’s Minister of Public Safety, Dominic LeBlanc, calling for decisive action in response to a hateful video statement targeting Hindus.
The video, released by Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, has raised concerns. It has added to the ongoing diplomatic tension between India and Canada, which started due to Canadian PM Justin Trudeau’s allegations about India’s supposed involvement in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
In its letter, HFC wrote, “We, the Hindu community in Canada, urgently request your attention to our deep concerns regarding recent statements made by Mr. Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the lawyer representing Hardeep Singh Nijjar. We implore the authorities to treat this matter with the utmost seriousness, as it directly impacts the safety and security of Canadian citizens. Our alarm has been exacerbated by the dissemination of a hateful video on social media.”
The letter said, “The foundation of international relationships is predicated on a long-term strategy of mutual benefit, and it is of paramount importance that domestic considerations do not eclipse sound judgment.”
“Tensions have escalated following Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s announcement on Monday, September 18 regarding the Canadian intelligence services investigation into a potential connection between the government of India and the killing of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia, Canada,” it further added.
Hindu Forum Canada added in its letter to the Canadian minister, “Mr Pannun has articulately expressed the beliefs held by himself and his Khalistani associates, leaving no room for ambiguity they intend to target individuals who do not subscribe to their ideology. These threats have now materialized within Canada, and it is imperative that the Canadian government does not underestimate their gravity. Both Canadian Prime Minister Mr Justin Trudeau and NDP Leader Mr Jagmeet Singh have previously defended these incidents as matters of freedom of expression. We implore them to address Mr. Pannun’s threat to Indo-Canadian citizens, particularly Hindus residing in Canada.”
The HFC said in its letter, “With the support of over a million Canadian Hindus, we earnestly beseech Prime Minister Mr Justin Trudeau and NDP Leader Mr Jagmeet Singh to recognise Mr Pannun’s threat as a hate crime. We anticipate that Canadian authorities will take decisive action to address this matter. Will they persist in classifying this threat as an exercise of freedom of expression, or will they acknowledge the danger that has inadvertently befallen Canadian citizens?”
Canadian Ministry of Public Safety issues statement, avoids mention of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun
In response to the letter by the Hindu Forum Canada, the Canadian Ministry of Public Safety took to X to clear its stand. It posted on September 22, “There is no place in Canada for hate. The circulation of an online video in which Hindu Canadians are told to leave Canada is offensive and hateful and is an affront to all Canadians and the values we hold dearly. Acts of aggression, hate, intimidation or incitement of fear have no place in this country and only serve to divide us. We urge all Canadians to respect one another and follow the rule of law. Canadians deserve to feel safe in their communities.”
2/2: Acts of aggression, hate, intimidation or incitement of fear have no place in this country and only serve to divide us. We urge all Canadians to respect one another and follow the rule of law. Canadians deserve to feel safe in their communities.
However, in its response, the Canadian Ministry of Public Safety did not clearly mention the threats issued by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun or the context in which it was sharing this post. Hindu American Foundation (HAF) brought this to their notice in an X post quoting the post by the Canadian Ministry of Public Safety.
Hindu American Foundation posted, “We appreciate this statement. But what’s missing is context. This statement is in response to the hateful video by Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s lawyer who is also responsible for the Khalistan referendum. The Khalistan movement is infused by similar anti-India & anti-Hindu rhetoric.”
We appreciate this statement. But what’s missing is context.
This statement is in response to the hateful video by #HardeepSinghNijjar’s lawyer who is also responsible for the #Khalistan referendum.
Gurpatwant Singh Pannun is the lawyer of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. In the video that emerged on Wednesday, 19th September 2023, Pannun was seen issuing threats to Hindus, asking them to depart from Canada in light of the diplomatic dispute between India and Canada following Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s killing.
He said, “Indo-Canadian Hindus, you have repudiated the allegiance to Canada and the Canadian constitution. Your destination is India. Leave Canada, go to India.”
He further announced another ‘referendum’ although this time not to vote for Khalistan but to decide if Indian High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma is responsible for the ‘assassination’ of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. He said that on October 29, a “Kill India Referendum” will take place in Vancouver and urged the Canadian Sikhs to come and vote.
It is notable here that Khalistani terrorists in Canada have repeatedly threatened violence against Indian diplomats and endangered Indian diplomatic missions. The Indian government has raised this issue with the Canadian government multiple times.
Pannun is a Khalistani terrorist wanted by the Indian government under UAPA. Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the head of Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara Sahib in Canada and a wanted Khalistani terrorist in India, was shot dead in Surrey by two unidentified assailants on June 18 this year. He was a wanted terrorist by the Indian Government. The 46-year-old hailed from the village Bhar Singhpura of Jalandhar.
The diplomatic relations between India and Canada took a turn for the worse after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday, 18th September 2023, accused the Union government of being behind the fatal shooting of wanted Khalistan leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. India, however, rejected the allegations levelled by the Trudeau administration, terming them “absurd” and “motivated”.
We must thank Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for existing. The debacle caused by Trudeau’s government by downgrading its diplomatic ties with India was met with stern retaliation from the Modi government. Trudeau’s governance incompetence and lack of direction have not been lost on the international community including the media as far as his spar with India is concerned.
Trudeau’s address to the media in New York where he was participating in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) was met with sharp questions from the media. The Canadian PM struggled and even failed to answer most of these questions which were all about the Canada-India tensions and barely a question or two about the issues Trudeau raised in his briefing.
The Canadian PM reiterated his baseless and motivated charges against India at the briefing saying, “We call upon the government of India to work with us, to take seriously these allegations and to allow justice to follow its course.”
It is both sinister and stupid that Trudeau is demanding that a sovereign State kneel to his government’s baseless allegations and thereby give legitimacy to the same; a trap so to speak. India’s Ministry of External Affairs in a briefing on 21 September said that no specific information has been received from Canada over its allegations against India so far.
#WATCH | "We are willing to look at any specific information that is provided to us, but so far we have received no specific information from Canada. From our side, specific evidence about criminal activities by individuals based on the Canadian soil has been shared with Canada… pic.twitter.com/1rdHyXlLS7
And yet, throughout his media address, Trudeau continued to repeat the same sentence in response to questions which sounded critical of Canada’s diplomatic blunder.
“As I said on Monday there are credible reasons to believe that agents of the government of India were involved in the killing of a Canadian on Canadian soil. That is something of utmost and of foundational importance in a country of the rule of law, in a world where international rules-based order matters. We have a rigorous and independent justice system and robust processes that will follow their course and we call upon the government of India to engage with us to move forward on getting to the truth of this matter,” the Canadian PM said.
When asked by Global News if Canada had asked its allies including the US, UK, Australia or New Zealand to publicly condemn New Delhi, the only words Trudeau managed to stitch together were, “As a country of the rule of law, we have an obligation to ensure that those processes unfold in a rigorous and independent manner and that is what we are ensuring. At the same time we are ensuring that Canadians stay protected and that we stand up for the international rules-based order. That is something we are doing alongside our allies.”
Clearly sensing a lack of answerability from the Canadian Prime Minister, the reporter asked again in more direct words, “But so far at this point in time you seem to be alone in echoing the allegations. Are you concerned that Canadian allies have not gone nearly as far as you in this situation?”
For the third time, Trudeau repeated his words, “We are standing up for the rules-based order, we are standing up for the rule of law. We’re highlighting how unacceptable it would be for any country to be involved in the killing of a citizen on their own home soil. And that’s something we will continue to stand for.”
By this time, Trudeau was visibly discomforted with the questions coming his way centred around this one topic alone.
When asked to characterise the quality of the evidence that Trudeau claimed the Canadian government had against India during his address in the Parliament, Trudeau was at a loss for words. He said that the process of justice should be allowed to unfold itself.
He said, “The decision to share these allegations on the floor of the House of Commons Monday morning was not done lightly…uh it was done with, Monday afternoon…was done with utmost seriousness.”
In extension to his reply, Trudeau was asked if he meant that the evidence was extensive. But the Canadian Prime Minister only repeated the same sentence for the nth time about there being “credible allegations” against India.
Speaking about his interaction with PM Modi, Trudeau said he shared his concerns in no uncertain terms.
On questions on India’s suspension of visa services for Canadians, Trudeau failed to have any answer at all and rather “called upon” India to indulge with Canada on the charges it is making by providing no evidence of the allegations whatsoever.
Trudeau kept reiterating that Canada is a country of the rule of law. This is despite rampant terrorism, racism, and Hindu hatred emanating from Canadian soil and Canadian groups meddling in the affairs of other sovereign states.
Trudeau was also asked about how his government has failed to garner global support against India as against when it successfully rallied international support when two of its citizens, both named Michael, were detained by China. “It seems that countries are less eager to take as firm a stand against India. Why do you think that is?” the media asked.
Trudeau replied, “In the situation of the two Michaels, Canada grounded itself in the rule of law, in our values, in upholding our international treaties and obligations and demonstrated that as a country of the rule of law, we will remain anchored in it. That’s what we did as a country and that’s what we do on the international stage whether we’re standing up for Ukraine, or emphasizing the international rules-based order in other contexts.”
He added, “The rule of law is there to protect Canadians, it’s there to protect all citizens around the world and Canada will always be crystal clear on our defence of that for the protection and safety of everyone.”
When asked if Trudeau would share the evidence against India and what precautions or security measures Canada is taking at the Indian High Commission, he went on to repeat his message in different words talking about the Canadian justice system. “In terms of safety in Canada and safety of Canadians, we always take the safety of Canadians extremely seriously, whether at home or overseas, I can assure everyone that Canada is a safe country. I continue to call for calm and for Canadians to remain true to who we are, open, respectful, grounded, respect and trust in our institutions and our law enforcement and justice system.”
Trudeau was also asked if the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) had handled the situation well knowing that Nijjar was aware that there was a threat to his life and he had been meeting intelligence officers about the same. “I am wondering if you are concerned at all about how this was handled by the RCMP and whether there should be a review of the fact that this couldn’t have been prevented,” the media asked.
In an eerily controversial answer, Trudeau said that the safety of such Canadian citizens is key who sometimes come to Canada fleeing regimes that share very different values in various parts of the world than Canada. “And when they come to Canada, when they become Canadian citizens, they deserve to be fully protected and that’s something we have always taken seriously and we will always look to do even more to keep Canadians safe.”
Responding to a last question on the matter, Trudeau said that Canada is not looking to provoke or cause problems. “But we are unequivocal around the importance of the rule of law and about the importance of protecting Canadians and standing up for our values. That’s why we call upon the government of India to work with us, to establish processes to discover and to uncover the truth of the matter and to allow justice and accountability to be served.”
It would seem like Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has counted his chickens before they are hatched by blaming India for the murder of a Khalistani terrorist and downgrading diplomatic ties without any evidence, and any investigation. Trudeau knows he has done perhaps irreparable damage by accusing a sovereign State in a matter which has exposed terrorism, anti-India, anti-Hindu emerging from Canadian soil.
On Friday (September 22), American bank JPMorgan announced that it would include India in its Government Bond Index-Emerging Markets (GBI-EM) index.
As per reports, 23 Indian Government Bonds (IGBs), which have a combined value of $330 billion, are eligible to be included in the emerging market debt index.
The country’s local bonds will be included in JP Morgan’s GBI-EM index for a period of 10 months, starting June 28, 2024, with 1% increments on index weighting (up to a maximum weighting of 10%).

“India’s weight is expected to reach the maximum weight threshold of 10% in the GBI-EM Global Diversified, and approximately 8.7% in the GBI-EM Global index,” JPMorgan said in a statement.
The move will pump billions of dollars into the Indian economy. Reportedly, the Indian government began the discussion on including its debt in global indexes way back in 2019. It had also been in talks with Belgium-based financial services company, Euroclear, for clearing and settlement.
Modi govt removed foreign investment restrictions on IGBs
The Indian government also removed restrictions on foreign investments in government securities in 2020 to be able to enter global bond indexes. As such, several Indian Government Bonds (IGBs) are now ‘Fully Accessible’ and have no foreign investment restrictions.
In a statement, JP Moargan’s Global Head of Index Research Gloria Kim said, “The Indian government’s introduction of the FAR (Fully Accessible Route) program in 2020 and substantive market reforms for aiding foreign portfolio investments”
Reportedly, foreign investment in Indian bonds has so far been $ 3.4 billion in 2023. At the same, it must be mentioned that foreign investors own less than 2% (~$12 billion) of Indian govt debt.
Following the announcement of JP Morgan, it is now expected that India will be included in the global bond index of other banks as well.
Indian Economy to grow at 8.3% in the first quarter and 6.7% in FY24: SBI Research
The Indian economy is expected to have grown at 8.3% during the first quarter of the current Financial Year 2024 (Q1 of FY24), i.e. between April-June, as per the latest report by SBI’s Economic Research Department (SBI Ecowrap). SBI’s Chief Economic Advisor, Soumya Kanti Ghosh had authored this report.
In a report on the 22nd of August, Ghosh said, “At SBI, we have developed an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model with 30 high-frequency indicators. On the basis of the ANN model, we forecast that the quarterly GDP growth for the Q1FY24 (April-June 2023) would be at 8.3 percent.”
The SBI Research report has predicted a higher GDP growth rate as compared to other predictions made by national and International Economic agencies. Ghosh asserted that the GDP growth for FY24 will exceed the 6.5 per cent forecast given by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). He predicted that the growth in FY2023-24 as a whole would stand at 6.7 percent.
Canada’s Winnipeg Police has confirmed the killing of gangster Sukhdool Singh alias Sukha Duneke. The gangster associated with the Davinder Bambiha gang was shot dead on September 20.
In its official press release, Winnipeg Police stated that its Homicide Unit has identified the deceased person as 39-year-old Sukhdool Singh adding that his family has also been notified. Meanwhile, an investigation is being conducted into the matter. The police added that no arrests have been made so far.
According to the press release, the Winnipeg Police arrived at the crime scene in the North Inkster Industrial area at 10:00 a.m. on September 20.
Officers from the North District General Patrol, assisted by members of the Tactical Support Team, responded to a residence in the 200 block of Hazelton Drive and found Sukhdool Singh already dead. The police added that a postmortem examination is yet to be conducted.
According to reports, unknown assailants shot Sukha in what appears to be an inter-gang clash in Canada’s Winnipeg. Interestingly, Sukha’s name was on the list of wanted criminals shared by NIA on September 20. The names included criminals engaged in terror-gangster acts against India.
As per reports, Sukha’s murder has been cited as similar to that of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June this year, for which Canada is now blaming India. Sukha’s name was on the list of 43 wanted criminals released by NIA. 29 gangsters from the Punjab region feature in the list. Sukha appeared at Number 33 on the NIA’s list. Following the death of Sukhdool Singh, gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for Singh’s killing.
As reported earlier, Sukhdool Singh was an associate of Arsh Dalla, a Khalistani terrorist who recently took responsibility for killing Congress leader Baljinder Singh Balli in Moga.
Duneke was a member of the Davinder Bambiha gang that was named in controversial Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala’s murder. He escaped to Canada in 2017. He was operating his gang activities in India while sitting comfortably in Canada. Hailing from the south Malwa region, Duneke was a small-time gangster who rose to headlines quickly. Along with gangsters like Goldy Brar and Arsh Dalla, he was into extortion and cross-border funding. Duneke was a known Khalistani sympathizer.
On the surface, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government has sparked a diplomatic war with India accusing the latter of playing a role in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who Trudeau considers a “Canadian citizen”. But dig deeper and you will find an entire propaganda army of Islamists, Khalistanis, and left-liberals being led by Trudeau.
The National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) and World Sikh Organisation (WSO) on 20 September tabled four demands before the Canadian government which include that it expel the Indian High Commissioner to Canada, recall the Canadian envoy, block trade with India, and ban the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS).
If you thought that Trudeau and his administration’s statement was atrocious, wait till you hear this. The anti-India statement by NCCM and WSO was made at the House of Commons of all the places in Canada proving that the Trudeau administration not only shelters but also nurtures propagandist organisations.
Who are the National Council of Canadian Muslims?
The National Council of Canadian Muslims was formerly known as the Canadian Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR.CAN), the Canadian chapter of the US-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).
CAIR is a US-based Islamist organisation with ties to the Islamic terrorist organisation Hamas. The radical group was amongst the 17 India-hating organisations in the US that wrote a joint letter to US President Joe Biden to cancel state dinner with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the US in June.
CAIR was originally established by the Muslim Brotherhood and was designated by the US Justice Department as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation case. One of NCCM’s (then CAIR.CAN) founding directors was also an unindicted co-conspirator in the trial against illegal funding of Hamas.
Moreover, NCCM is known for filing libel suits against its critics. When former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s communications director Jason MacDonald implied in 2014 that NCCM has ties to Hamas, the organisation sued him for libel. In a setback to the NCCM, the court agreed Jason’s demand for more documentation on the group. However, in 2017, Jason and the NCCM issued joint statements that their differences were “resolved”.
NCCM and CAIR have also collaborated on issues in the past which raises concerns about how both organisations jointly lobby with favourable administrations and government officials to take the liberty to interfere in internal matters of other nations.
In very sugarcoated words, the NCCM on its website is basically exposing itself. CAIR.CAN was founded in 2000 by Canadian Muslim advocates. In 2013, the organisation changed its name to NCCM.
It says on its website, “We originally adopted the CAIR.CAN name because CAIR was and remains an established and recognized brand in civil rights activism within North American Muslim communities since 1994. Using this well-known brand, over the years we successfully established ourselves from a fledgling Canadian organization into one whose professionalism and accomplishments made us a leader in promoting civic engagement and defending civil liberties.”
The NCCM thereby openly admits that it took the assistance of the brand CAIR in order to grow in Canada. It further states how after it had developed its clout, it renamed to NCCM. “Given our Canadian heritage and mandate, we believed the organization needed to look to the future to meet the growing needs and aspirations of Canadian Muslim communities. Thus, on July 6, 2013 the organization became the National Council of Canadian Muslims.”
It is safe to say that a so-called organisation which took the support of a foreign entity like CAIR to build its base in Canada must also have engaged in sharing resources, information, and parroting the same narratives.
How the Canadian government has collaborated with NCCM and related Islamic organisations
The Canadian Human Rights Commission (CHRC) agreed to collaborate with the NCCM and the Islamic Social Services Association (ISSA), another Islamist organisation in Canada. The collaboration yielded funding from the Red Cross to publish a guide for Canadian teachers titled “Helping Students Deal with Trauma Related to Geopolitical Violence and Islamophobia”.
Screenshot of the guide released by NCCM, ISSA and CHRC
The entire guide is speculative. On the first page itself, it reads, “What Muslim Students May Be Experiencing”. And follows it up with another sub-section titled, “What Canadian-Muslim Youth Need”. The guide fails to provide any substantiative research and data to explain the reasons for its demands and only gives a speculative narrative about how Muslim youth are facing challenges. Notably, it repeatedly uses the word minority to sound as if it is speaking for all minority communities.
With this collaboration, not only did the CHRC lend credibility and authenticity to NCCM and ISSA but also proved that the Islamic organisations are supported by the Canadian government. Moreover, the guide released by this collaborative initiative is deeply Islamic in nature thereby proving false the narrative of the Canadian government and the NCCM that they working for “all minorities”.
The guide also suggests that the suffering of Israeli children receives more media sympathy than Palestinian children’s suffering. For a state department like CHRC to take such positions on geopolitical matters is highly atrocious.
In a tip to teachers at the end, the guide states, “Generally, some care should be taken by teachers on the language and tone they take when discussing world events and the Islamic faith.”
It doesn’t remotely end here. The NCCM and ISSA have also collaborated with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to create a so-called “counter-radicalisation” handbook titled “United Against Terrorism”. The handbook reportedly recommends hardline clerics for consultation and emphasises Muslims’ rights not to cooperate with law enforcement. Amid backlash, the RCMP withdrew its support but its name and logo continue to appear on the handbook.
The NCCM and ISSA through the handbook ordered the Canadian police not to use terms such as ‘Islamist terrorism’, ‘Islamicism’, and ‘Islamic extremism’. Another part of the handbook says that terrorists are not “jihadis” and that “jihad is a noble concept”. The RCMP rejected the handbook a day after its release for its “adversarial tone”.
Screenshot of the handbook “United Against Terrorism”
A news report citing Globe and Mail states that “it does not appear that the RCMP raised concerns about the handbook during a 14-month development and review period in which information was shared with all the handbook’s contributors”.
The report quoted a terrorism analyst Patrick Poole as saying, “Even though they have retracted their endorsement for this publication, their name remains on it, and the initial media blitz tied them to it. This is exactly how governments legitimize, even unwittingly, extremist ideology through outreach.”
The NCCM along with World Sikh Organisation (WSO) on 1 March 2023 released a report titled “The RSS Network in Canada” targeting the non-governmental organisation in India for supporting Hindu rights. In the very first sentence of its press release, the NCCM exposes its agenda behind the report by saying, “Today, as Canadian officials begin meetings at the G20 Summit hosted by India, the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) and the World Sikh Organization of Canada (WSO) launch a major report — The RSS Network in Canada — that looks at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), its supremacist ideology, and its influence network in Canada.”
There is no doubt then that the NCCM and WSO along with their affiliates had every bit of intention to negative impact and derail the G20 Summit under India’s Presidency.
Moreover, Trudeau and his Liberal colleagues have also been accused of funding anti-Semitic professor Jasmine Zine, who is closely affiliated with the NCCM. Zine in 2018 was awarded a federal grant of $24,900 for research which resulted in a report titled “The Canadian Islamophobia Industry: Mapping Islamophobia’s Ecosystem in the Great White North”.
Zine has also been an activist in the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement which is a Palestinian-led movement against Israel. CEO of Jewish group B’nai Brith, Michael Mostyn told the Canadian daily, “It is totally unacceptable that government funds have been used to promote an antisemitic movement in Canada.”
Jasmine Zine, an NCCM affiliate who received research grants from the Canadian government
The former CEO of NCCM, Mustafa Farooq, during his tenure, had said that the organisation aspires to live by the ideals of Malcolm X, a deeply anti-Semitic American Muslim figure who emerged as a prominent figure during the civil rights movement in the US.
Tweets from 2020 quoting then Chair of NCCM hailing Malcolm X
The NCCM rushed to Trudeau’s defence in August 2014 for his visit to Montreal’s Park Extension mosque, which is linked to Al Qaeda. Moreover, the WikiLeaks files, written by US military chiefs in 2011, list the Al Sunnah Al Nabawiah mosque among nine houses of prayer worldwide considered as a place “Al Qaeda members were recruited, facilitated, or trained.” The mosque, visited by Trudeau in 2014, is also linked to a terror cell which was planning attacks on Los Angeles airport. Its former imam Mohamedou Ould Salahi, later locked up in a Guantanamo jail cell, was head of the Canada wing of Al Qaeda.
Screenshot of the Daily Mail report from 2011 exposing the link between Al Qaeda and the Montreal mosque which Trudeau visited in 2014
The NCCM’s argument in defence of the mosque in question, while also defending Trudeau’s visit, was that the Canadian Muslim community is not supposed to know what each and every one of them is up to. “There are more than 1 million Muslims living in Canada today. Is the community supposed to know what each and every one of them is up to, at any given time? Of course not; the question is both preposterous and offensive.”
Not only did the NCCM defend the mosque but also gave a free pass to the Al Qaeda-linked terrorists who frequented the Islamic place of worship. Playing the victim card as usual against criticism of Trudeau’s visit to the mosque, the NCCM said, “This type of fearmongering is not isolated, but is part of what appears to be a wider smear campaign aimed at Canadian Muslims and their institutions.”
NCCM’s collaboration with anti-Hindu, anti-Indian forces in Canada
The NCCM and World Sikh Organisation (WSO) have a shared history of running anti-Hindu and anti-India narratives and propaganda. Moreover, the World Sikh Organisation, which operates out of Canada, incessantly meddles in India’s internal affairs and has lent support to and is supported by pro-Khalistani elements.
The WSO had called the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) a controversial law and had blamed Hindus for the anti-Hindu Delhi riots in 2020. The WSO parrots the same language as Trudeau on such issues. As far as CAA is concerned, it said, “India has repeatedly seen attacks against minorities, including Sikhs, Muslims and Christians, that have been either sanctioned by the state or ignored.”
Ironically, this radical organisation has been urging the Canadian government to bring in a legislation that would provide shelter to minorities from Afghanistan.
The WSO was formed in July 1984 following Operation Bluestar. Its X account is currently withheld in India. The organisation has openly encouraged and supported and even participated with Khalistanis.
One of the key WSO members Didar Singh Bains had prominently called for the separation of Punjab from India and raised a demand for Khalistan. In 2014-15, the WSO helped Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party campaign before the federal polls.
What’s worse is that the WSO was granted an intervener status before the Commission of Inquiry set up for probing the Air India 182 bombing. An X user alleged that the WSO openly questioned the Canadian police in order to defend the terrorists responsible for the attacks.
Mr @brodiefenlon -here is testimony of @WorldSikhOrg -whose report your journalist @LisaYaxiXing used to abuse @RSSorg before AI Flight 182 commission- worst terror act in the history of Canada https://t.co/vALWHYAyWU – they openly questioned Canadian police to defend terrorists
It was at the founding convention of the World Sikh Organisation at Madison Square in New York that the Babbar Khalsa terrorist Ajaib Singh Bagri on 28 July 1984 had openly called for the killing of Hindus. ““Until we kill 50,000 Hindus, we will not rest,” he had said using the WSO platform.
Justin Trudeau and his Liberal Party’s sinister ideas of liberalism have taken shape in the formation and growth of organisations like the NCCM and WSO. They do not want to fight terrorism, racism, anti-Semitism and so on. They want to use terrorism so as to be able to victimise their Islamist and Khalistani citizens and be able to justify every anti-Hindu, anti-Indian move they make in the name of “immigrants”, and “minorities”.
On Thursday, 21st September 2023, pro-Khalistani Punjabi Canadian singer Shubhneet Singh shared a social media post in which he said that he was extremely disheartened due to the cancellation of his upcoming India tour. The singer has expressed this after he received a massive backlash over his controversial social media post amid the diplomatic sabre-rattling between India and Canada.
The rapper’s ‘Still Rollin India tour’ was canceled earlier over his support of the Khalistan cause. In a statement shared on Instagram, Shubhneet Singh said he had been practicing hard for his India tour for the past two months and was very excited at the prospect of performing in the country, ANI reported.
Taking to his page on Instagram, the rapper posted, “As a young rapper-singer hailing from Punjab, it was my life’s dream to put my music on an international dais. But the recent happenings have tumbled my hard work and progress, and I wanted to say a few words to express my dismay and sorrow.”
“I’m extremely disheartened by the cancellation of my tour in India. I was highly amped up and enthusiastic to perform in my country, in front of my people. The preparations were in full swing and I was practicing with my heart and soul for the last two months. And I was very excited, happy, and ready to perform. But I guess destiny had some other plans,” Shubhneet Singh added in his post.
Terming India as his country, Shubhneet Singh said his “ancestors and Gurus did not blink an eye” when it came to making sacrifices for the country’s freedom. “India is MY country too. I was born here. It is the land of my GURUS and my ANCESTORS, who didn’t even blink an eye to make sacrifices for the freedom of this land, for its glory, and for the family. And Punjab is my soul, Punjab is in my blood. Whatever I am today, I am because of being a Punjabi,” he added in his Instagram post.
About his earlier post that had sparked only fury, Shubhneet said he intended to pray for Punjab as there were reports of electricity shutdown in the state, adding that he did not intend to hurt anyone’s sentiments. The singer said the accusations hurled at him affected him “deeply”.
On Wednesday, BookMyShow announced that Shubhneet’s ‘Still Rollin Tour for India’ had been canceled. In a post shared on X, BookMyShow stated, “Singer Shubhneet Singh’s Still Rollin Tour for India stands canceled. To that end, BookMyShow has initiated a complete refund of the ticket amount for all consumers who had purchased tickets for the show. The refund will be reflected within 7-10 working days in the customer’s source account of the original transaction.”
The ticket-booking app faced a backlash on social media for hosting a singer with Khalistani proclivities in the wake of his earlier post.
On 23 March 2023, Shubhneet Singh posted a story on his Instagram account captioned “Pray for Punjab” showing a distorted map of India. He posted a photo of the map without the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and North-eastern states. This post was clearly an attempt to challenge the sovereignty of India and peddle the Khalistan narrative. The Canadian singer did this at a time when the Punjab Police was on the lookout to nab Khalistani terrorist Amritpal Singh. Shubh had openly supported Khalistani elements at the time.
Notably, his shows were scheduled from the 23rd to the 25th of September at Cordelia Cruises in Mumbai. Earlier on 19 September, another Indian brand boAt had announced its decision to withdraw its sponsorship from Shubh’s India tour. Earlier, on Wednesday, #UninstallBookMyShow started trending on X with some users calling Shubh a ‘Khalistani’. Reportedly, ace India cricketer Virat Kohli also unfollowed Shubhneet on Instagram amid the backlash.
The diplomatic relations between India and Canada took a turn for the worse after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday accused the Union government of being behind the fatal shooting of wanted Khalistan leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. India, however, rejected the allegations levelled by the Trudeau administration, terming them “absurd” and “motivated”.
Amid the rising tensions between India and Canada, US State Department’s Hindustani Spokesperson Margaret MacLeod on Thursday emphasized that the US has their own relations with India and Canada, noting that both are important for the United States.
Macleod further said that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s allegations are concerning.
‘The allegations levied by Canadian PM Justin Trudeau are very concerning. We are keeping in touch with our Canadian allies. We urge the Indian govt to cooperate in this investigation,” she added.
Notably, she said, “US and Canada have their own relation and US and India have their own relation, both are important partners for us. But most importantly, the guilty should be brought to justice.”
Earlier today, spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, Adrienne Watson rejected reports of the US rebuffing Canada after the latter accused the Indian government of being behind the assassination of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Watson said they are “coordinating and consulting” with Canada and also “engaging” with the Indian government.
Watson made the statement in response to reports in the American media that Washington has distanced itself from Canada’s allegation about New Delhi’s involvement in the killing of Nijjar, a wanted Khalistani leader in India. The report highlighted the diplomatic challenges faced by the Biden administration as it seeks to maintain strong relations with both India and Canada.
Earlier, US National Security Council Spokesperson John Kirby said “serious allegations” were levelled by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau against India in the killing of Nijjar, adding that the US wanted the matter handled in a “transparent” way.
In an interview with CBS News, an American television news channel, Kirby urged India to cooperate in the investigation. “These allegations are serious and we know that Canadians are investigating and we certainly don’t want to get ahead of that investigation. We urge India to cooperate in that investigation as well,” Kirby said in the interview.
Moreover, on Thursday, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that the allegations made by Canada regarding the “potential links” of India being behind the killing of Khalistani extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar are “politically driven”.
“Yes, I do think there is a degree of prejudice here. They have made allegations and taken action against them. To us, it seems that these allegations by the government of Canada are primarily politically driven,” Bagchi said.
Bilateral relations between India and Canada have hit a sharp downward spiral after Prime Minister Trudeau on Monday alleged that “Indian agents” were behind the shooting of Hardeep Nijjar.
Nijjar, the chief of Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) — a Sikh extremist organisation banned by India and a “designated terrorist” was killed in a targeted shooting at British Columbia in Canada’s Surrey in June 2018.
India, however, rejected the allegations by the Trudeau administration, terming them “absurd” and “motivated”.
“We have seen and reject the statement of the Canadian Prime Minister in their Parliament, as also the statement by their Foreign Minister,” the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on 21st September issued an advisory to television channels to refrain from providing any platform to persons against whom there are charges of serious crimes including terrorism or belonging to organisations proscribed by law.
The advisory was issued after Khalistani terrorist and Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) spokesperson Gurpatwant Singh Pannun appeared on ABP News for an exclusive interview on 20 September. In the interview, Pannun made several comments which are detrimental to the sovereignty/integrity of the country, security of India, friendly relations of India with a foreign state and also have the potential of disturbing public order in the country, said the ministry.
The advisory said that it has been issued in light of a recent discussion on a television channel of a person in a foreign country against whom there are serious cases of crime including terrorism, belonging to an organization which has been proscribed by law in India.
The advisory said, “It has come to the notice of this Ministry that a person in a foreign country against whom there are serious cases of crime including terrorism, belonging to an organization which has been proscribed by law in India was invited for a discussion on a television channel wherein the said person made several comments/remarks which were detrimental to the sovereignty/integrity of the country, security of India, friendly relations of India with a foreign state and also had the potential of disturbing public order in the country.”
The Ministry has categorically stated that the Government upholds media freedom and respects its rights under the Constitution, but at the same time the content telecast by TV channels must adhere to the provisions of the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995 including sub section (2) of Section 20.
It added that Section 20 of the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995 lays down the circumstances and conditions under which the Central Government may, by order, regulate or prohibit transmission/retransmission of any television channel or programme in public interest, and where it is considered necessary and expedient to issue such orders in the interest of the sovereignty and integrity of India, security of state, friendly relations of India with any foreign state, or public order or decency or morality.
In this context, “television channels are advised to refrain from giving any platform to reports/references about and views/agenda of persons of such crimes/terrorism and belonging to organizations which have been proscribed by law, having regard to the reasonable restrictions laid down under Article 19(2) of the Constitution and mentioned under sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the CTN Act,” said the advisory.
