‘Delhi se hoon, BC’ gets real as road rage incident gets caught on camera, video viral

A video has surfaced on social media wherein a man hits a biker with his four-wheeler following a heated verbal exchange with the biker group. The incident reportedly occurred near the Arjan Garh metro station in Delhi on Sunday, June 5.

The road rage incident caught on camera was shared by news agency ANI on June 6. “A man hit a biker with his four-wheeler following a heated verbal exchange with the biker group, near Arjan Garh metro station in Delhi. (05.06) Police say they’ve taken cognisance of the matter & investigation is on,” ANI Tweeted, sharing the 1.09-minutes video.

Some bikers can be seen continuously honking at a passing car in the video. The biker then slows down as he approaches a Mahindra SUV driving in the middle of the road. The biker and the car driver get into a verbal spat, after which the bike moves ahead. After a few seconds, the car speeds up behind the rider, collides with him, and flees. The bike skids and hits the divider but luckily rider appears to not have incurred any massive injury.

The biker’s friend who was travelling with him reportedly told ANI, “I was returning with 8-10 of my friends from Gurugram to Delhi when he came near us and started rash driving. He threatened and verbally abused my friend. My friends slowed down a little but I drove ahead. The man sped up, hit my bike and sped away.”

According to India Today, the biker received some fractures and is currently recovering. The Delhi police have contacted the biker and asked him to lodge a formal complaint against the SUV driver.

This road rage incident is a reminder of how youngsters in Delhi like to wear their belligerent, uncouth attitude on their sleeves. This incident, in fact, reminds one of Yo Yo Bunty Singh’s song “Delli se hun, bc” from 2017. ‘Delhi Se Hoon, BC’ is a slang term that is frequently used by youngsters to justify their anger, belligerence and their general pride in breaching the law.

Amritsar: Pro-Khalistan slogans raised at Harmandir Sahib on Operation Blue Star anniversary, warning issued to Govt of India while police watched

On June 6, pro-Khalistan slogans were raised at Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) in Amritsar on the 38th anniversary of Operation Blue Star. Notably, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had a closed-door meeting with Gyani Harpreet Singh, Jathedar, and Akal Takht. It is unclear what CM Mann and Singh talked about.

During morning ardas (prayers), Alak Takht Jathedar paid homage to those who had lost lives during the military operation. He also condemned the then-Congress government for allowing the Indian Army to enter the Golden Temple. After ardas, several Sikh men gathered outside the Golden Temple with posters of Bhindranwale and brandished swords. They raised pro-Khalistan slogans and hailed Bhindranwale in the presence of Punjab Police, intelligence personnel, and paramilitary forces.

In the light of Operation Blue Star’s anniversary, the Amritsar administration had imposed Section 133 around the Golden Temple. Carrying any weapon was prohibited as per the orders. However, there was no on-ground effect of the order and over a hundred men had gathered with swords and posters after the morning ardas.

Reports suggest Takht Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh drew parallels between the then-Congress government and the Mughals after the ardas. Moments later pro-Khalistan and pro-Bhindranwale slogans were raised. Singh accused first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru of drafting an anti-Sikh policy that was later implemented in June 84.

Pro-Khalistan rally in Amritsar

A pro-Khalistan rally was held in Amritsar on June 5. Members of several radical Sikh organizations including Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) and Dal Khalsa held a so-called ‘freedom march’ in the city. Sikhs of all ages participated in the rally carrying Khalistan flags and placards. They raised slogans in support of ‘independence’ and demanded a separate state for Sikhs ‘Khalistan’.

Photographs of damaged Akal Takht and those who were killed in the operation were displayed in the march. Heavy police presence was seen across the city. Dal Khalsa president Harpal Singh Cheema said, “We want to tell the Government of India that we have neither forgotten nor forgiven the perpetrators of the attack. The mission of the martyrs was to liberate Punjab from Indian domination. We are determined to pursue the mission to its logical conclusion using the right to self-determination.”

Operation Blue Star

Between the 1st and 10th of June 1984, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi launched an operation to flush out terrorists from the Golden Temple. Operation Blue Star was the code name for the Indian military action carried out to remove Khalistan terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his armed followers from the Harminder Sahib complex in Amritsar. On June 6, the Indian Army stormed the Golden Temple. The next day, Army announced the completion of the operation but it took another three days to clear the Gurudwara premises.

Nigeria: ‘Gunmen’ storm Church in Ondo, kill over 50 Christians gathered for Sunday prayers and kidnap priest amid rising Islamic insurgency

At least 50 people, including women and children, were massacred during a Sunday Mass gathering at a Church in Ondo state, south-west Nigeria. The details about the unknown ‘gunmen’ aren’t known. As per reports, the armed men entered St Francis Catholic church in Owo during Sunday service. Reportedly, they also fired into the congregation and kidnapped a priest and other people who were attending the Church as per eye-witnesses.

There has been an increase in violence, especially Islamic insurgency across Nigeria in recent months. While the number of those killed in the Sunday massacre is not known, reports say that even children were killed in the same. Nigerian President Buhari said that the country will not give in to ‘evil and wicked people’ and Ondo state governor Rotimi Akeredolu said that the attack on Christians was ‘vile and Satanic attack’.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. However, in recent times, Nigeria has been fighting the rising Islamic insurgency where armed groups carry out such attacks and hold people for ransom.

A week back, however, the head of Methodist Church in Nigeria was abducted along with two other clerics in the South-East of the country. Almost 2 lakh Pounds were paid by the Church head for their release. Prior to that, two Catholic priests were also kidnapped in Katsina, the hometown of the Nigerian President. They have not yet been released.

In March this year, a rail link between Abuja and Kaduna was targeted where at least nine people were killed and several others were kidnapped. They continue to be in their custody till now.

ED raids residence and other locations linked to Delhi Minister Satyendra Jain in connection with hawala transactions: Details

On June 6, Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided the residence and other locations linked to Aam Aadmi Party’s leader and Delhi Minister Satyendra Jain. The search operation started early in the morning and was going on till this report was published. Notably, Jain is currently in ED’s custody till June 9 in connection to the money laundering case involving a company from Kolkata.

Jain was arrested by ED on May 30 under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. He was sent to ED’s custody by the trial court on May 31. Earlier, the trial court had allowed the presence of a lawyer during the interrogation. The lawyer was allowed to be present at a distance from where he could not listen to anything but could see what was happening. However, the Delhi High Court stayed the order.

The Judge had reserved the order on the ED’s plea challenging the direction. The Judge said as there was no FIR or complaint against the minister, Jain could not claim the right of a lawyer present during the recording of the statement.

The case against Satyendra Jain

In August 2017, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed an FIR against Satyendra Jain in a money laundering case. The ED had registered a criminal case against the AAP leader based on this FIR which was lodged by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in which it had been alleged that Jain could not explain the source of funds received by four companies in which he was a shareholder. The companies have reportedly laundered money to the tune of Rs 16.39 crores from 2010 to 2014.

In November 2019, the Home Ministry approved the prosecution of Delhi minister Satyendra Jain in cases related to disproportionate assets and money laundering.

In April this year, the Enforcement Directorate provisionally attached immovable properties worth Rs. 4.81 crore owned by companies named Akinchan Developers Pvt. Ltd, Indo Metal Impex Pvt Ltd, and others under the PMLA, 2002. The action was taken in connection with the disproportionate asset and money laundering case registered against AAP minister Satyendra Jain, his wife Poonam Jain, and others.

Qatar, which had given citizenship to MF Hussain after painting nude Hindu Goddesses, gets upset at alleged blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad in India

On 5th June 2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar summoned the Indian ambassador to Qatar to officially condemn the comments by BJP spokespersons on Prophet Muhammad. The statement added that the Qatar government welcomes the statement issued by BJP distancing itself from the comments and suspending the leaders who had made comments on the Prophet.

However, this stand of the Qatar government against blasphemy has reminded netizens of Qatar granting citizenship to India’s controversial painter MF Hussain after he painted nude paintings of Hindu Goddesses. Reminding people of Qatar’s double standards, comedian Nitin Gupta tweeted, “MF Hussain made nude paintings of Hindu Goddesses. Qatar granted him citizenship. Nupur Sharma quoted facts about Muhammad from Hadith. Vishwagurus bent over backward to appease Qatar!”

MF Hussain was in the middle of a controversy in February 2006 when he was charged with hurting the sentiments of Hindus because of his nude paintings of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. He had also made one obscene painting of Bharat Mata (Mother India). As the controversy gained momentum, more and more cases were filed against him. MF Hussain, afraid of the prosecution, fled away to Qatar in 2006. In 2010, he surrendered his Indian passport and was granted citizenship of Qatar where he went on to paint the history of Arabs as ordered by the Queen of Qatar.

Qatar is among the hardest places in the world to become a citizen with even people living there for decades not eligible for citizenship in most cases. However, the rules were relaxed for Hussain as he received his citizenship in 2010.

Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Qatar has responded to this statement by Qatar’s foreign ministry, confirming that the Ambassador had a meeting in the Foreign Office in which concerns were raised with regard to some offensive tweets by individuals in India denigrating the religious personality.

“The tweets do not, in any manner, reflect the views of the Government of India. These are the views of fringe elements,” the Ambassador told the Foreign Ministry of Qatar. The Embassy further added that vested interests that are against India – Qatar relations are inciting people using those comments.

Gujarat: Elderly man incites Muslims to avenge alleged blasphemy by Nupur Sharma. Here is how he is instigating people on the streets

Amidst the death threats received by Nupur Sharma over accusations of alleged blasphemy, an elderly Muslim man was seen inciting his co-religionists on the streets of Ahmedabad.

In a video that has now surfaced on social media, the man can be seen holding a placard that read, “Nupur Sharma Shaitan ki aulad hai (Nupur Sharma is the child of the Devil).”

While standing in the middle of the Relief Road in Ahmedabad, he remarked. “Muslamano ke khilaf hai Modi chor (‘Thief’ Modi is against the Muslim community)…”

He lamented, “Phir bhi Musalman jaag nahin rahe (Even then Muslims are not awake)…Subah hote hi kutte ke mafik daulat ke piche daudta hai Musalman (Muslims run after money like dogs every morning)”

The man lambasted the Muslim community for not coming forward and avenging the alleged insults hurled at Prophet Muhammad. “Musalman hone pe lanat hai tumko (You are a blot in the name of Muslim),” he said.

The man recording the video then hailed the old man in the video as Aashiq-e-Rasool (devout follower of the Last Messenger). “He is standing in the sun and doing this. Mashallah,” he added.

Attempts to mobilize Islamists on the streets

While the ‘placard protest’ by the elderly man might look harmless on the outside, it effectively serves the purpose to remind his co-religionists about their ‘duty’ to defend the Faith. His grievance about Muslims having forgotten their ‘Iman‘ in pursuit of money is designed to ignite passion, which can later translate into real-life action.

We have seen the aftermath of such an action-oriented mobilisation in Kanpur where Islamist mobs went berserk to ‘restore’ the honour of Prophet Muhammad. Prior to that, the BJP spokesperson received countless death and rape threats, which was facilitated by the dog-whistling of Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair.

He incited Islamists against the BJP leader, knowing fully well that it could have life-threatening consequences. Bounties, to the tune of lakhs and crores of money, were thus announced on Nupur Sharma.

All this while, the community members waited in anticipation for Islamists to act while effectively crying about being a ‘Dara hua Minority (scared minority).’

Given that Zubair’s online mobilization has already got a mob of people after Nupur Sharma, this elderly man’s efforts to hit the street is likely to have a similar impact.

After Qatar, Kuwait summons Indian ambassador over ‘blasphemous’ comments by BJP leaders, demands public apology

After BJP suspended Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal over their comments allegedly insulting Islam and Prophet Mohammed, it has become clear that Indian government faced massive pressures from Islamic Gulf nations over the issue. After Qatar govt summoned the Indian ambassador demanding apology from Indian govt, now the Kuwait govt has also informed that they had summoned the Indian Ambassador over the same issue.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry of Kuwait has issued a statement saying that they had summoned the Ambassador of India and handed him a protest note, rejecting and denouncing the statements made by an official in the ruling party against the Prophet. In a statement issued today, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said that the Indian Ambassador was summoned today, and the Deputy Minister in the ministry handed over a note to the ambassador.

They informed that the note categorically rejects and condemns the ‘insulting’ comments made by the ruling party leaders on Prophet Mohammed, Islam and Muslims. They added that Kuwaiti government welcomes the statement by BJP in this regard, announcing the suspension of the leaders.

However, like Qatar govt, the Kuwait government has also demanded a public apology for the comments, saying that continuation of such comments without deterrence or punishment will increase extremism and religious hatred. The ministry also added that such statements reflect the ignorance the message of peace and tolerance of the Islamic religion, and the great role Islam has played in building civilisations in all countries in the world including India.

It is notable that this note is almost similar to the note issued by the Qatar govt. Both statements condemn the statements, welcome the suspension, demand apology, issues threats over such comments, and then concludes with saying how Islam has built civilisations including India.

The Indian Ambassador to Kuwait is yet to issue any statement on the issue. The Indian Ambassador to Qatar had issued a statement, saying that those alleged comments against Islam does reflect the views of Government of India, adding that they are views of fringe elements. The embassy had also said that strong action has already been taken against those who made the derogatory remarks.

Amid the growing anti-India sentiments in Gulf countries spread mostly by Indians there over the alleged blasphemous comments by BJP leaders Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal, BJP had issued a statement today, strongly denouncing insult of any religious personalities. The press release came amid threats by Islamists to the leaders over alleged ‘blasphemy’.

The statement had added, “The Bharatiya Janata Party is also strongly against any ideology which insults or demeans any sect or religion. The BJP does not promote such people or philosophy.”

Moments after issuing the statement, BJP suspended Nupur Sharma pending investigation on her comments in a TV debate, and terminated Naveen Jindal from the party for his tweets. The party said that they had expressed views which are contrary to the party’s position on various matters.

Read Kamlesh Tiwari’s last post days before he was assassinated by Islamists over alleged ‘blasphemy’

Alleged ‘blasphemy’ of Islam and its Prophet Muhammad is frequently attracting death threats in India in the last few years. Calling out people for the alleged ‘blasphemy‘ over any remark about the religion and its messenger and dog-whistling fanatic Islamists to attack the critics of Islam and providing an intellectual shield to the threats under the garb of hurt sentiments and freedom of expression is being normalized in a way like never before.

Recently, BJP leader Nupur Sharma was targeted and given death threats in a similar manner for responding to Islamists insulting Hindu gods and symbols like the Shivling, in a way they would better understand – that is, by mentioning uncomfortable facts about Prophet. People on social media stood up in her support but the way in which the BJP has suspended her is a reason to remember the last Facebook post of Hindu activist Kamlesh Tiwari who was assassinated by Islamists on 18th October 2019 over a similar alleged ‘blasphemy‘.

Kamlesh Tiwari was a Hindu activist who fought for Hindu causes and raised his voice against Hinduphobia and the religious violence faced by Hindus. In his last Facebook post that he shared on 15th October 2019, he wrote, “Many Hindus ask me for help over a phone call. I help them as much as I can and I will continue to do so. But, in the Hindu society for which I fight, the people of the organization work hard and at times take enmity of others, how many have voluntarily come and said ‘hey brother, take these one hundred rupees as our contribution for the cause of Hindu community?’ There is none. I am grateful to our activists and extend my thanks to them. They are poor. They don’t have any jobs. Still, they charge us with the energy to keep the fight for Hindutva alive. Otherwise, the community for which we are fighting is either alive or dead.”

Kamlesh Tiwari further wrote in this post, “We and our other saffron comrades are alive and we are helpless. How will you be able to protect such an ungrateful and selfish society? This is really a matter of concern that, forget 10%, Hindu community is not willing to spend even 1% of their earnings on the cause of protecting its family, property, culture, and Dharma. Don’t blame Hindu organizations if, in the future, this community is finished off spending its money on expensive wedding celebrations and maintaining fake social status. Because on one side you have a bumper funding of Zakat and Islamists and Missionaries and Christianity; while on the other side there are fighters who are fighting this battle spending their own money. Give it a thought. Jai Shri Ram.”

The Facebook post is still there on Kamlesh Tiwari’s Facebook profile. While readers may have a question, how can one’s Facebook account be active even after his death, there are measures to continue the account and different options are provided by various platforms to keep the account active even after the death of the user.

As far as a Facebook account is concerned, Facebook provides users with two options. Users can either request Facebook to delete their account when they die or they can give information to someone who can have limited access to their account when they die. This is shown in the Memorialization Settings of one’s Facebook account and the user can specify the details of the person whom he wishes to keep as his legacy contact. Please note that the person has to be on your friend list on Facebook to become your Legacy Contact.

Please note that the Legacy Account will gain access only after submitting the required information about your death. The access will be limited. Here are a few things that the Legacy Account will be able to do:

  • Manage tribute posts on your profile, which includes deciding who can post and who can see posts, deleting posts, and removing tags
  • Request the removal of your account
  • Respond to new friend requests
  • Update your profile picture and cover photo

In the Memorialization Settings, you will see an option that reads, “Request that your account be deleted after you pass away.” When you click on this option, a message will appear that ask you to confirm your request. Once Facebook has enough information and proof that you have died, the account will be removed forever.

Kamlesh Tiwari’s Facebook account is currently run by a group of his supporters.

Kamlesh Tiwari was stabbed 15 times, and then was shot using a pistol by Islamists on 18 October 2019 at his house in Lucknow. His life was in danger from the radical Islamists since 2015, when he had made allegedly blasphemous comments while responding to derogatory comments on RSS by SP leader Azam Khan. Azam Khan had said that RSS is the organisation of homosexuals, because its leaders don’t marry. Responding to this, Kamlesh Tiwari had said that Prophet Muhammad was the first homosexual in the world.

This had triggered massive protests by Muslims in various parts of the country, demanding death penalty for Tiwari. Such a protest in Malda in West Bengal had turned violent in 2016, when the Islamists had burnt down a police station, several vehicles, and assaulted people. Kamlesh Tiwari was arrested by SP led UP govt, and was charged under National Security Act and other sections of the IPC. He had spent several months in the jail. While later he was out the jail, he was killed in 2019.

Qatar summons Indian Ambassador over ‘blasphemous’ comments by BJP leaders and demands apology from Indian govt, Ambassador responds

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar have informed that they had summoned the Indian ambassador to official condemn the comments by BJP leaders on Prophet Mohammed. In a statement issued today, the ministry informed that today Indian Ambassador to Qatar Dr. Deepak Mittal was summoned by the ministry to hand over a note, “expressing the disappointment of the State of Qatar and its total rejection and condemnation to the controversial remarks made by an official in the ruling party in India against Prophet Mohammed (may blessings and peace be upon him, Islam and Muslims)”.

They said that Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the State, handed the note to the Ambassador of India. The statement added that the Qatar govt welcomes the statement issued by BJP distancing itself from the comments, and suspending the leaders who had made comments on the Prophet.

However, Qatar govt is not happy with this only, and is demanding a public apology from the Indian government of India. “State of Qatar is expecting a public apology and immediate condemnation of these remarks from the Government of India, pointing out that allowing such Islamophobic remarks to continue without punishment, constitutes a grave danger to the protection of human rights and may lead to further prejudice and marginalization, which will create a cycle of violence and hate,” the statement said.

“The State of Qatar affirmed that these insulting remakes would lead to incitement of religious hatred, and offend more than two billion Muslims around the world, and indicate the clear ignorance of the pivotal role that Islam has played in the development of civilizations around the world, including in India,” the Qatar Foreign Ministry added issuing a direct threat against any comments on Prophet Mohammed.

The Indian Embassy to Qatar have responded to this statement by the ministry, confirming that the Ambassador had a meeting in the Foreign Office in which concerns were raised with regard to some offensive tweets by individuals in India denigrating the religious personality.

Reflecting the statement by BJP, the ambassador also said that those alleged comments alleged Islam does reflect the views of Government of India, saying that they are views of fringe elements. “The tweets do not, in any manner, reflect the views of the Government of India. These are the views of fringe elements,” the Ambassador told the Foreign Ministry of Qatar.

“In line with our civilisational heritage and strong cultural traditions of unity in diversity, Government of India accords the highest respect to all religions,” said the Embassy, adding that “strong action has already been taken against those who made the derogatory remarks”.

The Embassy further added that vested interests that are against India – Qatar relations are inciting people using those derogatory comments.
