BCCI has announced the Indian team for the home series for the 5 matches T20I series against South Africa to be played in June this year and there have been some major changes. Some stalwarts have been rested for the series while some old names have made a comeback.
The series will commence in Delhi on the 9th of June and will culminate in Bengaluru on the 19th of June. Other matches of the series will be held in Cuttack, Vizag, and Rajkot.

The selectors have rested the designated captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah for the series trying to manage their workload. The squad has instead some new faces while some old guns have also made a comeback. The notable comebacks are all-rounder Hardik Pandya and veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik. KL Rahul is named as the captain of 18 men squad.
Hardik Pandya who has been out of the Indian team due to form and fitness, played last for India in the T20I World Cup in November, 2021. During the ongoing season of IPL, he has scored 413 runs with an average of 41.30, making a strong statement for his comeback. He is the highest scorer for his team and also led Gujarat Titans as the first team to qualify for the playoffs in this season’s IPL. At the end of the group stages, Gujarat Titans topped the point table with 20 points (10 wins in 14 games).
On the other hand, Dinesh Karthik, has made a comeback to the Indian team after a gap of 3 years. Karthik has smashed 287 runs with a strike rate of 191. 33 in the current IPL, his strike rate is the best among players who have scored minimum 200 runs.
The new faces in the squad are Umran Malik who had a sensational season this year in IPL. He bowled consistently over 150 kmph for Sunrisers Hyderabad and is the lead wicket-taker for them with 21 wickets to his name. The other newcomer is Arshdeep Singh from Punjab Kings, who has proven to be quite economical in the death overs.
Surprisingly, Rahul Tripathi from Sunrisers Hyderabad didn’t get a chance to make into the 18 men squad despite being the best middle order batsman of the season with 393 runs at strike rate of 161.72.
The selectors also annouced the test squad for the 5th test against England which is to be played in Birmingham. The Indian team returned back after the 4th test of the 5 match series due to Covid concerns. India leads the 5-match series 2-1 going into the last Test. Ajinkya Rahane has not been picked while Cheteshwar Pujara has made a comeback into the test squad after his impressive performances in the county cricket this season for Sussex.

On Thursday 19th May 2022, CIDCO police in Aurangabad city of Maharashtra arrested a youth named Imran Khan for disturbing harmony between communities by making a misleading video. In this video, it is seen that Imran Khan, a resident of Alamgir Colony, is allegedly beaten up by 15 Hindu youths who are shouting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and snatching rupees 1,700 from his pocket. The video also mentions the name of a youth from the group of attackers as Rahul and that he lives in Ambedkar Nagar.
1042.#HateCrime#CrimesAgainstHumanity Aurangabad: Imraan Khan hired over 15 Moxlems, He then dressed them as Hindu, and they made a video of Imran being beaten by Moxlems(dressed as Hindus) shouting Jai Shri Ram. https://t.co/d2id3VV7zC
According to more details, Imran was beaten up by Akbar Langada (Harsul) Saddam and one unknown youth at Sharad Tee Point on Jalgaon Road on 28th April 2022. They also snatched rupees 1,700 from his pocket. After this, Imran went to the CIDCO police station and informed constable Sulane about the incident. The police then sent him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). When at GMCH, he shot a fake video. In this video, Imran Khan can be seen being beaten by 15 other youths. These youths are seen shouting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ as they beat Imran Khan. They can also be seen chasing him from the CIDCO bus station.
The crime branch and CIDCO police took a note of this video and started an investigation. At the end of the investigation, it was revealed that all of the youths seen beating Imran in that video were Muslims. In police interrogation, accused Imran Khan confessed that when he was in GMCH, someone asked him to shoot the fake video that he was beaten up by some youths and was being compelled to say Jai Shri Ram. PSI Krushna Ghayal registered a case in this regard under the guidance of PI Sambhaji Pawar. Imran Khan is thus booked for breaching the peace and trying to incite communal disharmony by making a fake video. Imran Khan is now arrested by the CIDCO police.
This is not an isolated incident of people dragging the ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogan to push their propaganda. Multiple such fake incidents have been reported in the past where people tried to defame the holy chant for Hindus.
Following the reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel by the government of India, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman issued a clarification on Sunday to the opposition’s criticism of the excise duty drop affecting states’ share of central taxes.
In response to the Opposition’s criticism of the excise duty cut, the Finance Minister stated that the central government will bear the full cost of the Rs 8 per litre reduction on petrol and Rs 6 reduction on diesel. This information was shared by the Finance Minister in a series of tweets.
The Finance Minister stated that Basic Excise Duty (BED), Special Additional Excise duty (SAED), Road & Infrastructure Cess (RIC) and Agriculture & Infrastructure Development Cess (AIDC) together constitute Excise Duty on petrol and diesel. Only the Basic ED is sharable with states whereas SAED, RIC & AIDC are non-shareable. The excise duty cut has only come from this non-shareable part which is totally borne by the centre.
3/ The excise duty reduction of ₹ 8/litre on petrol and ₹6/litre on diesel (effective from today) has entirely been made in Road & Infrastructure Cess (RIC).
Even in November ‘21, the reduction of ₹ 5/litre in petrol and ₹ 10/litre in diesel was entirely made in RIC.
She stated that the Rs 8/litre reduction in fuel excise duty and Rs 6/litre reduction in diesel excise duty (both effective from 22nd May 2022) was totally funded by the Road and Infrastructure Cess (RIC). She went on to say that even in November 2021, the Rs 5/litre petrol and Rs 10/litre diesel price reductions were made totally in RIC.
“Basic ED which is sharable with states has not been touched. Therefore, the entire burden of these two duty cuts (made in Nov, 21 and yesterday) is borne by the Centre,” she said.
4/ Basic ED which is sharable with states has not been touched.
Therefore, the entire burden of these two duty cuts (made in Nov, 21 and yesterday) is borne by the Centre.
Further slamming the opposition, the Finance Minister maintained that data from the Reserve Bank of India indicated that the Modi government spent Rs 90.9 lakh crores on developmental spending from 2014 to 2022, compared to only Rs 49.2 lakh crores from 2004 to 2014.
She stated that the duty reduction from Sunday will cost the government Rs 1,000,000 crores per year, while the duty reduction in November 2021 will cost the government Rs 1,20,000 crores per year.
6/ RBI data shows total developmental expenditure incurred by the @PMOIndia@narendramodi Govt during 2014-‘22 was ₹ 90.9 lakh crore.
In contrast, only ₹ 49.2 lakh crore was spent on developmental expenditure during 2004-‘14.
Ms Sitharaman concluded that the entire spending made by the Modi government on food, fuel, and fertiliser subsidies so far comprises Rs 24.85 lakh crores, plus the Rs 26.3 lakh crores spent as capital expenditure. During the UPA’s ten years in power, just Rs 13.9 lakh crores were spent on subsidies.
On Saturday, May 21, 2022, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that the central government will lower the central excise duty on petrol and diesel. This has eventually cut the retail price of petrol by Rs 9.5 and diesel by Rs 7.
A day after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi delivered a controversial speech in London questioning the idea of India and instigating people to resort to mass action against the Indian state, the Union Minister of Tourism, Culture and Development of North Eastern Region hit out at the Gandhi-scion for challenging India’s national unity by referring it to as as a “union of states” and not a nation.
During his speech, Rahul Gandhi had described that India is not described as a nation in our constitution, but as India, that is Bharat, is a union of states. Rahul Gandhi also claimed that the design that was developed by Mahatma Gandhi, which emerged from the freedom movement, was a negotiation between the states, identities and religions, and all these states got together and created a negotiated peace.
Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s assertions, Union Minister Kishan Reddy cited the speeches made by Dr BR Ambedkar in the parliament and dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s dangerous sub-nationalism rhetoric.
“The best fact-checker for Rahul Gandhi’s rubbish is Babasaheb Ambedkar himself,” tweeted Kishan Reddy. Dr Ambedkar was a jurist, economist and politician who headed the drafting committee of the Constitution of India.

“The Drafting Committee wanted to make it clear that though India was to be a federation, the Federation was not the result of an agreement by the States to join in a Federation” pic.twitter.com/QtFt2KDyoq
In his tweets, the Union Minister laid out the discussion in the Constituent Assembly debates and the statement made by Dr BR Ambedkar on November 4th 1948. He cited a statement made by Dr Ambedkar on November 4th, 1948, where he had touched on various topics that included the special features of the constitution, the criticism of Fundamental Rights and the objection to the description of India in Article 1 of the Draft Constitution as a Union of States.
The Union Minister quoted the statement made by Babasaheb Ambedkar on this topic, saying, “The Drafting Committee wanted to make it clear that though India was to be a federation, the Federation was not the result of an agreement by the States to join in a Federation”.
“The Federation is a Union because it is indestructible.
Though the country and the people may be divided into different States for convenience of administration the country is one integral whole … derived from a single source”
“The Federation was not the result of an agreement by the states to join in a Federation & the Federation not being the result of an agreement no State has the right to secede from it,” Kishan Reddy quoted Ambedkar as he responded to Rahul Gandhi’s “union of states” comment.
Rahul Gandhi should know that India was never a negotiation, said Kishan Reddy, while referring to another quote, “The Federation is a Union because it is indestructible. Though the country and the people may be divided into different States for convenience of administration, the country is one integral whole … derived from a single source”.
Rahul Gandhi calls for ‘mass action’ against India from foreign soil
On Friday, Congress leader and Gandhi-scion Rahul Gandhi, who is on a visit to London, promoted anarchy in the country as he called for “mass action” against the Indian state.
Speaking at the ‘Ideas for India’ conclave in the United Kingdom, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed that the country is being controlled by the “deep state”, which is causing the damage. Hence, according to Rahul Gandhi, a large ‘mass action’ against the Indian state is necessary to free the institutions that are controlled by the RSS.
Defining the “deep state” in London, he said that not just RSS but even ED and CBI are a part of the “deep state”. Essentially, while promoting anarchy in India, Rahul Gandhi was dog-whistling the USA with phrases like “deep state”.
Calling for the opposition to unite, Rahul Gandhi claimed that the opposition parties should understand that they no longer fight the BJP. This is not just a purely political fight, the Gandhi-scion added, suggesting that they are now fighting the institutional structure of the Indian state, which has been “captured” by an organisation.
“The only way for us we have no respite from the institutional framework of the country. The only way is to go to the large masses of the Indian people. That is not just the Congress, that is all opposition parties,” said Rahul Gandhi in his speech in London.
Congress is basically structuring that transition where it can go back to its roots and start moving toward mass action, said the Gandhi-scion, as he urged the opposition parties to instigate masses to rebel against the Indian state.
Besides Rahul Gandhi, opposition leaders, including CPI(M) ‘s Sitaram Yechury, RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav and TMC’s Mahua Moitra, have also travelled to London to participate in the event organised by the non-profit think-tank Bridge India.
On Sunday (May 22), BJP leader Arjun Singh deserted the Bharatiya Janata Party and joined hands with the Trinamool Congress (TMC). He is a sitting Member of parliament from the Barrackpore constituency of West Bengal.
He was inducted into the party in the presence of Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee in Kolkata. Singh served as a member of the TMC between 1998 and 2019.
He had then defected to the BJP and went on to become the party’s Vice-President in West Bengal. Singh, a seasoned politician, again changed his party affiliation on May 22, 2022.

Prior to his defection to the Trinamool Congress, Arjun Singh was seen posting cryptic poems on social media. “Heard that the sea has risen with a sense of pride…Row the boat in the direction of the storm,” read one such tweet.

TMC goons attacked Arjun Singh in the past
Starting in 2019, the now TMC leader has faced several attacks from his own party.

In September last year, 3 bombs were hurled at his house allegedly by TMC goons. “Criminals have no fear because they have the protection of TMC and West Bengal Police. The criminals are roaming around openly, the Police have become the ‘Daldas’ of the Trinamool. I was never afraid of such attacks, and I will not be afraid,” he had remarked then.
He was again attacked in January this year but nonetheless decided to join hands with the same party.
Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan who was declared a ‘bad character’ (BC) by Delhi police has now filed a defamation case against the Delhi police. He shared this information from his Twitter handle. In his tweet, he said, “The police should tell me what lands have I occupied or where have I done illegal construction? Where did I incite riots? Which gang am I part of? Today, I have sent a notice of defamation to Delhi Police, they should either apologize or pay damages.”
पुलिस मुझे बताए की आखिर

— Amanatullah Khan AAP (@KhanAmanatullah) May 22, 2022
He said in another tweet, “The Delhi Police is constantly targeting me. This time, the Delhi Police has also attacked my family as well as the right to dignity and the right to live with dignity. Delhi police are weaving fabricated stories without any evidence”
— Amanatullah Khan AAP (@KhanAmanatullah) May 22, 2022
In his 15-page long notice, Amanatullah Khan’s lawyer said, “To the utmost shock and disbelief of our client, it came to his knowledge that a Delhi Spokesperson having a massive following on Twitter of a political party controlling the dispensation at the Centre, at 14:08 hours from his official Twitter handle, tweeted that: ‘Amanullah Khan declared BC by Delhi Police’ and also shared the photographic image of the dossier containing the mug-shots of our client, which also had the signatures of the SHO, P.S. Jamia Nagar.”
The notice further said, “It is reiterated for the sake of pertinence that the purported dossier of our client is a ‘confidential document’ and not a ‘Public Document’ per se, is not accessible to the public, and as such is prohibited to be shared with any member of the public as envisaged in regulation 23 of the Punjab Police Rules, 1934. The sharing of our client’s purported dossier and proposal in question is a confidential document by the Spokesperson of the political party controlling the dispensation at the Centre raises serious questions on the propriety and functioning of the Delhi Police in as much as our client’s purported dossier has not been leaked by a private individual but strangely by none other than the Delhi Police who is entrusted with a statutory duty to preserve its confidentiality.”
— Amanatullah Khan AAP (@KhanAmanatullah) May 22, 2022
The notice said that the steps taken by police have thus violated Amanatullah Khan’s fundamental right to privacy and right to live. The notice sent by Amanatullah Khan further said, “When reputation is hurt, a man is half-dead. It is an honour which deserves to be equally preserved by the downtrodden and the privileged. The aroma of reputation is excellence which cannot be allowed to have sullied with the passage of time. It is dear to live and on some occasions, it is dearer than life. And that is why it has become an inseparable facet of Article 21 of the Constitution. No one would like his reputation dented, and it is perceived as an honour rather than popularity.”
— Amanatullah Khan AAP (@KhanAmanatullah) May 22, 2022
Threatening the Delhi police of a probable mental condition one may develop due to so-called harassment, Amanatullah Khan said in his notice, “The disconcerting facts are discernable in the present case, it is manifestly apparent that our client has been deeply humiliated with indelible scars on his mind. Such treatment is basically inhuman and causes mental trauma. The psychological torture of one human by another can have emotionally damaging effects comparable to, and possibly worse than, those seen with combat and other types of trauma. Any psychological torture inflicts immense mental pain. Mental suffering at any age in life can carry the brunt and may have a nightmarish effect on the victim.”
The notice concluded with a demand for an unconditional apology by the Delhi police for what the notice calls a brazen infraction of the fundamental rights of Amanatullah Khan including the right to privacy, reputation, and life with dignity – all of which according to the notice are included in the right to life. He also demanded immediate remedial measures for revocation of the dossier and history sheet and strike off the entries there. In case the Delhi police do not do this, Amanatullah Khan has asked for a compensation of rupees 10 crores.
Amanatullah Khan was earlier declared a Bad Character by the Delhi Police, a day after he was arrested for clashes that erupted in Madanpur Khadar, Delhi, during the anti-encroachment drive.
Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions released the trailer of the upcoming film Jug Jugg Jeeyo on May 22. Within an hour, Vishal A Singh, a creative executive producer, and Chartered Accountant accused Dharma Productions of using a script he shared with them in 2020 for their latest film.
In a tweet, Vishal said that he had registered the script named ‘Bunny Rani’ with Screenwriting Association in January 2020. A month later, in February 2020, he mailed Dharma Productions for an opportunity to co-produce the film with them, for which he had received a reply from the production house as well. He alleged that they picked his story and made Jug Jugg Jeeyo. “Not fair, Karan Johar,” Vishal wrote.
In a follow-up tweet, Vishal attached a screenshot of the email he had sent to Dharma Productions on February 17, 2020, and wrote, “An official complaint will follow.”

On May 21, Hindu organizations and locals protested against Christian Missionaries who had organized a two-day program outside a community hall in Green City, Dhakoli (Zirakpur), district Mohali, Punjab. They alleged that the missionaries were luring people of the locality to convert to Christianity, and the people sitting there were brought from outside. During the protest, the women from the Missionary group pushed BJP leader Neetu Khurana who was protesting along with the locals against the use of a car with ‘Police’ tag by the missionaries. Khurana is General Secretary, Punjab Mahila Morcha.
The dubious missionary event
The two-day event started in the locality on May 21 at around 5 PM. The members of the Church group gathered outside the community hall and made announcements on the loudspeaker inviting people from Green City, Mamata Enclave, and Laxmi Enclave (three localities in the area) to come and ‘experience the wonders of Jesus Christ’.
Though no one from the locality came to hear them, the church group continued praising Christianity for a few hours. During the program, Shlok Aggarwal, a resident of the locality, approached the group and urged them to shut down the program as it was causing unnecessary disturbance. He asked them to lower the volume, but they did not pay attention to his request. Along with Shlok, other locals also objected to the program.
During the program, the speakers of the Church group made dubious claims. They promised that if the person joined them, he or she would be free of all the financial and health problems. The speaker said, “Jesus Christ will bless you and take away all your problems. If any one of you has any financial or health problems, come and take blessings of Jesus Christ.”
The second-day event took place in the presence of Police
As the Church group faced opposition from the locals on the first day of the event, on the second day, they came with Police for ‘protection’. However, the Hindu groups and locals were not in the mood to let them continue with the program. There were multiple issues that they had raised in front of the Police officers that were present at the scene.
Protesters called ‘adharmi’
When the locals started chanting slogans like Jai Shri Ram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai against the missionary program, the person addressing the attendees from the stage termed Hindus chanting slogans as ‘adharmi’. He said, “A person following Dharma would not have a problem with our program. Only an adharmi would disrupt a religious program.’
Outsiders brought inside the locality for the program
The first objection that was raised was that there were no locals sitting there listening to the speakers of the Church group. The locals alleged that not a single person sitting there was from the locality and everyone was brought in from outside. “It is a threat to the security of our locality. If something happens because of their presence, who will be responsible?” asked Mahendra Kumar, State Planning Head of Dharam Jagran Samanvay.
Speaking to OpIndia, Shlok Aggarwal, Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s Social Media Convener, said, “There is no local resident attending their meeting. I am amazed how they got permission to hold such a program here. They are luring the people in this locality to convert. It is happening all across Punjab. We cannot allow this to happen.” He further said, “I came here with three other people. When they saw our tilak, they threatened us and asked us to leave. We were not expecting the Police would come for their protection. Instead of stopping them from attempting conversions, the Police are stopping us. Are we not allowed to stand in our own locality while the outsiders are attempting to convert Hindus without any fear?”
‘Luring people to convert in exchange for perks is wrong’
RSS Karyakarta Rahul N Sharma said, “These people indulge in conversions in exchange for perks. Luring people to convert in exchange for perks is wrong in any religion. If I go and tell people that I will pay them Rs 1,000 to join Shakha, there will be so much halla bol against it. However, here no one is ready to acknowledge this problem. It is different when people convert over faith to other religions. Still, if someone is getting converted to Christianity or Islam in exchange for money or a promise of a ‘better future’ it is wrong and unethical.”
“The administration is stopping us from raising our voice instead of stopping these people who are trying to convert our Hindu and Sikh brothers and sisters. I want to ask when is this going to stop? We want an answer”, Shlok said.
Students facing problems amidst exams
The board exams got postponed, and currently, many students in the locality are preparing for the same. Local BJP leader Neetu Khurana was present at the scene. She said, “I am amazed that SDM gave permission for such a program despite the fact that the students here are preparing for the exams. These people are creating a nuisance, and the Police are not taking any action against them.”
Meanwhile, some students came and requested the Police to at least ask them to reduce the volume of the loudspeakers, but nothing happened for long. Irked by the inaction of the Police, the locals raised Jai Shri Ram, Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Har Har Mahadev slogans repeatedly. They warned the Police that they would sit there in protest if the volume was not lowered. The program was scheduled to end at 9 PM, and at around 8:30 PM, the Police asked the Church group to lower the volume.
‘Try to organize it in Panchkula if you have guts’
A local resident was miffed with the Church group’s attempt to allegedly convert the residents to Christianity. He said, “If you have guts, try to organize such a program in Panchkula (Haryana). Cross the border and organize such a conversion program there. This has become a major problem in Punjab, and the authorities are doing nothing.”
Another local resident pointed out that such conversion programs were going on without any hurdles because Hindus were not raising their voice. He said, “Now when Hindus have raised voices against the conversions, they are getting agitated. Now they have called the Police to stop us. We will not stop. This is not acceptable, and we are not going to let them try to convert our brothers and sisters.”
Car with ‘Police’ tag used by Church group
When the program ended, a car came to pick up the Church group members. To the shock of the locals, the car, which had a Chandigarh registration number, had the ‘Police’ tag on the windshield. They came in front of the car and questioned how a vehicle with a Police tag was being used for conversion programs. The Police tried to remove them from the spot, but they did not budge.
Source: RSS Karyakarta/Prashant
The Police called the headquarters and requested SHO Hardeep Singh to come and intervene. Meanwhile, a scuffle broke between the female members of the Church group and BJP’s Neetu Khurana. She was standing in front of the car with Hindu leaders and local residents demanding a challan for using a car with a Police tag.
As the male members of the Church group could not get the path cleared, the female members of the Church group came forward and tried to pull Khurana. When she refused to move and warned them not to touch her, they pushed and forcibly tried to remove her. The Police had to intervene and save Khurana from them.
Local SHO says it is a minor issue
SHO Hardeep Singh arrived at the location and talked to both sides. Initially, he requested the people standing in front of the car to move aside and promised a challan would be issued at the Police Station. However, no one was ready to move from there.
The Challan book was brought by another officer within a few minutes. Challan was issued for misusing the Police tag on the car used for a religious event. Speaking to OpIndia, SHO Singh said it was a minor issue, and everything was settled. The locals and leaders present at the scene thanked the Police for their cooperation after SHO assured appropriate action would be taken in the matter against the owner of the vehicle.
Questions were raised over permission for a religious program to non-locals
The local residents who reside in Mamata Enclave, Laxmi Enclave, and Green City raised objections over the permission granted to the Church group for an event without the involvement of the locals. The committees of all three localities denied information of any permission given to the group to use the Community Hall for the event. Generally, the committee gives permission for such events, but the group had approached SDM for the same.
Notably, the permission documents shared with OpIndia by the locals did not mention the Christian program or ‘Changai Sabha’. The application given by the Church group read, “We are organizing a Satsang at Lakshmi Enclave, Community Center, Dhakoli, Zirakpur. We request you to allow us to use loudspeakers for the same.”
Source: RSS Karyakarta/Prashant
The address mentioned on the permission letter was of a man identified as Robin resident of Shanti Enclave, which is located outside the gated society. People living around the community hall said they do not know anyone named Robin, and no one came to ask them for permission or even informed them about the event.
‘We want forced conversions to stop’
Speaking to OpIndia, Mahender Kumar said, “These people lure poor Hindus in the name of better education, money and food to convert to Christianity. It is the responsibility of the state, society and Hindu organizations to not let such conversions happen. It is unfortunate that the government and society have failed to stop these conversions. Hindu organizations are working extensively to put a stop to the practice of conversions by luring the poor over fake promises of a ‘better life.”
Forced religious conversions in Punjab
Punjab is one of the hotspots of forced religious conversions in the country. Many pastors and churches have mushroomed in the state over the past few years. These groups are luring people to convert by promising them a ‘better life’ and relief from ailments. Alleged prophet Bajinder is one of the finest examples of such self-proclaimed God-men working in the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to travel to Japan next week to attend the important Quad summit. As the Prime Minister embarks on yet another important official tour, an interesting detail regarding his travel plans has come out.
PM Modi, who is known to have a tight work schedule, has reportedly yet again decided to travel mostly during the night to save time. Prime Minister Modi will leave for Japan on May 22 night, arriving early morning in Tokyo on May 23.
“PM Modi will be leaving for Tokyo on the night of May 22, arriving early next morning and heading straight to work. Overall, he would have visited 5 countries this month while spending a total of only 3 nights in these countries and 4 on the plane to save time,” tweeted BJP IT-cell head Amit Malviya.

Reportedly, PM Modi follows a regular pattern during his foreign visits to save time and resources. The prime minister mostly boards flights at night so that he can reach there early morning and then attend meetings the next day.
PM Modi will be visiting Japan on May 23 and 24, where he will be attending the Quad summit in Tokyo. Quad is the strategic security dialogue between Australia, India, Japan, and the United States of America.
During his trip to Japan, PM Modi will also hold bilateral meetings with US President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and the newly elected Australian PM Anthony Albanese.
Similarly, PM Modi spent just a night in Germany and Denmark during his recent trips to the two countries. He will be following a similar routine in Japan as well, where he will be spending one night in Tokyo during the course of his visit.
The PMO sources said that Prime Minister Modi has been doing this for several years. In the early nineties, when PM Modi began his overseas trips, he visited the destinations during the day and took the last flight back so that hotel-stay money could be saved. He used to sleep in the plane and airports very often, the sources revealed.
