Over 20 cow carcasses found in Hoshiarpur village, probe ordered

On March 12, carcasses of around 20 cows were found near a railway track close to village Jhans in Tanda Urmar, located 36 KM from Hoshiarpur. The incident has triggered tension in the region. A two-member committee has been constituted by the Punjab Gau Sewa Commission to probe the incident. The committee would submit a report in seven days.

As soon as the information of the incident reached the Hindus nearby, they reached the spot and jammed Jalandhar-Pathankot GT Road, demanding action against the culprits. Bajrang Dal’s Sandeep told Asia Net News that on receiving the information about the incident, Bajrang Dal activists along with other Hindu organizations reached the spot. They informed the police about the incident. They alleged the police initially was not registering the case, after which they jammed the highway.

An FIR under IPC 295 (A) and under the Prevention of cruelty to Animals Act has been registered in the case by the Railway Police. It has been reported the cows and bulls were brought in a truck that had potato gunny bags to hide the cows. The Hindu organizations have urged the police to check CCTV footage of the toll plaza nearby.

Harvinder Singh, SHO, Tanda Police Station, and Rajkumar, DSP Tanda, reached the spot for investigation. DSP Rajkumar said in a statement that the carcasses were found 200 meters away from the Railway track. The flesh was ripped off from the carcasses. It is believed that the culprits might have heard someone coming and left the carcasses. He further added the police would check the toll plaza’s CCTV that is located 600 meters from the spot. Mukhtiar Singh, SP (Investigation), said 12 gunny bags filled with potatoes were also found at the place of the incident.

Speaking to OpIndia, former cabinet minister and BJP leader from Hoshiarpur, Tikshan Sood, said the timing of the incident raised a lot of questions. “It was a heartbreaking scene at the spot. Anyone who has respect for cows would have broken down after seeing what they had done to the cows and bulls. BJP is going to raise the issue at the highest levels. The action taken by the new government will show if they are serious about the issues related to Hindus in the state.”

Sood further added initially, the Railway Police and Tanda Police kept arguing under whose jurisdiction the case would fall. It took hours for them to decide and register FIR in the case.

Chief minister-designate Bhagwant Mann has condemned the incident and promised strict action against the culprits. The Hindu organizations demanded last rites for the cows and bulls that was accepted by the administration.

Watch: Ukrainian soldier chants Hindu mantras for strength as he prepares to defend Kyiv against Russian attacks

Nearly three weeks into the Russia-Ukraine war, the attrition has set in the minds of soldiers fighting on both sides. The troops on either side are struggling to keep their morale high as they clash against each other to take control of Ukrainian cities. Amidst such dark times, soldiers are finding novel ways to keep their spirits up.

In one such incident, a Ukrainian soldier was seen reciting Hindu mantras to remain calm and composed amidst the ongoing conflict.

Andre, a Ukrainian soldier, chants Hindu shlokas every day without a miss to attain more strength as he prepares himself to defend Kyiv against the Russian attacks in the ongoing war. Speaking to India Today, Andre said he is an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna and recites the maha mantra – “Hare Rama Hare Krishna” and shlokas to boost his confidence.

Andre, seen in military gear with an assault rifle, said he learnt the mantras 25 years ago when he joined the ‘Hare Krishna’ movement in Kyiv. Andre said he discovered the concept of Bhakti and Vedantha by reading books and Hindu scriptures. Andre is a former professional athlete.

He said the shlokas of Bhagavadgeetha gave him the strength to fight against the Russians.

The Ukrainian soldier also said he had visited India twice and added that he was not ‘Kshatriya’ (warrior) but wanted to defend his homeland Ukraine from Russian attacks.

After Haryana, Gujarat makes Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ tax-free in the state

Vivek Agnihotri’s latest film, The Kashmir Files, which is running to packed cinema houses in the country, has got another shot in the arm. Gujarat has decided to make the film tax-free in the state, and no state GST will be charged on the film. The decision was announced by the Chief Minister’s office via a tweet on Sunday.

The Kashmir Files filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri thanked Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel for making the film tax free in the state so that more and more people can watch the film based on Kashmiri Hindu genocide in the valley by Islamic terrorists backed by Pakistan.

With the state waiving off its share of the tax, the price for tickets should come down by 9% in the state. The total GST on entertainment is 18%, with the other 9% by Center Government.

Earlier, the state of Haryana had announced tax-free status for the film, and now Gujarat has joined them. Media reports suggest Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka, too, have made the film tax-free, but there has been no confirmation of the same yet.

The Kashmir Files, starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi in the lead roles, opened in cinemas on the 11th of March.

While the film released in very few screens initially amid allegations of poor promotion from the producers Zee Studio, it has surprised everyone on box office. The overwhelming demand for tickets and houseful shows has forced cinema halls to increase the number of screens for the movie across the country.

The Kashmir Files is based on the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus in 1990, and the subsequent exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir due to Pakistan backed Islamic extremism. Due to the sensitive nature of the subject, the film faced a lot of challenges prior to its release, including challenges in the Court.

There have been demands from netizens to make the film tax-free in more states across India. With the film getting a great response from everyone, we are likely to see more states joining Haryana and Gujarat in giving tax-free status to the film.

“Outsider” Shatrughan Sinha to contest Asansol Lok Sabha by-election on TMC ticket in West Bengal

Yesteryear Bollywood star and former Member of Parliament from Patna Sahib, Shatrughan Sinha is going to contest Asansol Lok Sabha by-election on TMC party’s ticket. The elections for Asansol seat are going to be held on the 12th of April. The seat fell vacant after Babul Supriyo vacated the seat while leaving Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) to join TMC soon after West Bengal state assembly elections.

TMC chairperson and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced this decision via a tweet earlier on Sunday.

She also announced that Babul Supriyo will be the given the ticket for Ballygunge assembly bypolls. Ballygunge seat fell vacant after the unfortunate demise of TMC MLA Subrata Mukherjee last year.

Bohiragoto campaign is over?

The selection of Shatrughan Sinha as the candidate from Asansol by Mamata Banerjee has raised quite a few eyebrows. During the hotly contested assembly elections in 2021, Mamata attacked BJP repeatedly as the party of outsiders, but now she is giving tickets to Bihari leaders in Bengal. Bohiragoto (outsiders) were blamed for everything by Mamata, from destroying Bengal’s culture to even covid spike.

The campaign was a success, as TMC successfully managed to defend its turf in the face of an aggressive BJP campaign. However, looks like Mamata Di has become a lot more tolerant of outsiders since then, as Bihari Shatrughan Sinha becomes their candidate from Asansol.

Shatrughan Sinha will look at this as an opportunity to resurrect his political career. Sinha left BJP in 2019 after being ignored for years by PM Narendra Modi, and joined Congress. However, with Congress political fortunes in the doldrums, the veteran actor has decided to jump once again, this time to TMC.

JD(U) returns to NDA in Manipur, its 6 MLAs extends support to BJP which won clear majority in the elections

After winning a clear majority in the recent elections of the Manipur state assembly elections, the BJP has now received support from the 6 MLAs of JD(U). Khumukcham Joykisan Singh is elected as the leader to represent JD(U) in the state assembly. The party has informed about this in a press release on 12th March 2022.

In the press release, it is said, “The Janata Dal (United) is pleased to convey that the party legislators have unanimously elected Shri Khumukcham Joykisan Singh as the Leader of Legislature party of JD(U), Shri Ngursanglur Sanate as the Deputy Leader of Legislature party of JD(U) and Shri Mohd Abdul Nasir as the Chief Whip of JD(U).”

It further says, “In the interest of the people of Manipur, the JD(U) has decided to give support to the BJP in the formation of the government. The JD(U) would like to appeal to the BJP to honor the mandate reposed on the party and fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the people of Manipur.”

The press release published by JD(U)

In the recent Manipur assembly elections, the BJP has emerged as the largest party with a clear majority. In the 60-seat assembly, the BJP won 32 seats. JD(U) won 6 seats, becoming the third largest party after BJP and NPP. Congress party was reduced from 23 seats in the earlier assembly to 5 seats in the recent elections. Naga People’s Front and National People’s Party got 5 and 7 seats respectively. Kuki People’sAlliance got 2 seats. Three independent MLAs were also elected in the recent assembly elections.

It is notable that in the recent assembly elections of Manipur, the BJP was not fighting Congress alone but it was fighting three of its allies in NDA as well. Janta Dal (United), National People’s Party (NPP), and Naga People’s Front (NPF) were partners of BJP in the National Democratic Alliance in the previous government. JD(U), NPP and NPF were partners partners of the BJP-led government in Manipur since 2017.

However, these three parties had left the alliance last year, and fought the assembly elections against BJP because of their stand against the controversial Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA), 1985. In spite of this, the BJP has won a clear majority in the state assembly elections.

Sonia Gandhi’s son in law Robert Vadra’s brother in law Tehseen Poonawalla has confessed to having a sexual encounter with the wife of a top industrialist in the country. He made the revelation, following his ouster from the reality TV show ‘Lock Upp’ on Saturday (March 12).

On being asked by show host Kangana Ranaut about his sexual encounter, Poonawalla claimed, “I absolutely enjoyed it. The industrialist was at a distance. He was only watching. My only condition was he will not touch or intervene. It wasn’t a threesome. He had only watched from a distance.”

“He had certain fantasies which his wife and I played out for him. I don’t mind even sharing that because there’s nothing wrong. He wanted me to treat his wife like my property and he wanted to watch and enjoy the experience. I didn’t care about it,” Tehseen Poonawalla justified his act and said that he did not regret it. You can watch full clip here (at around 1 hour mark).

He also claimed that the sexual encounter with the industrialist’s wife took place prior to his marriage to jewellery curator Monicka Vadera. Monicka Vadera is cousin of Robert Vadra, son in law of Congress President Sonia Gandhi. The Congress loyalist said that he confessed about the same to his now wife while they were dating.

The reality show ‘Lock Upp’ has 16 contestants, who are kept in pairs in different make-shift jails for a period of 72 days. During that time, contestants are seen fighting amongst themselves and striving to eliminate the other. “The show is very intense and dramatic, with contestants getting challenging tasks to survive in the lockup,” reads the synopsis of the show.

Bihar: Medical students of Darbhanga Medical College set ablaze pharmacies, vehicles, were allegedly demanding narcotic drugs

0

On Friday, a group of medical students from Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital set ablaze multiple pharmaceutical stores in Bihar’s Darbhanga. Several people were injured, including a half-dozen police officers, while stores and cars were severely damaged in the fire.

According to reports, the students stormed the surrounding medical shops on Friday night after an argument regarding them seeking narcotics-related drugs. They became enraged after being refused, and an altercation erupted, culminating in violence.

As several residents said, the confrontation occurred late Friday night between medical students and the shopkeepers who operate the pharmacy stores near the medical college. The situation grew so heated that furious students splashed petrol on four stores on campus and set them ablaze.

An employee was reportedly stabbed with a scissor and suffered a facial contusion, while another person had minor burns. People who were present at the scene purportedly claimed to hear gunshots and explosions during the scuffle.

Krishna Kumar, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), remarked, “On Friday night, after an argument between a student of Darbhanga Medical College and the shopkeeper at the chemist, a group of students set several chemist shops on fire.” “Soon after getting information, 2-3 fire tenders were pressed into service to extinguish the fire,” he added.

He further added that police officers have been stationed on the DMCH campus to ensure the safety of the healthcare professionals and that emergency services have resumed. Darbhanga’s drug trade union has staged a demonstration calling for the arrest of the accused students. People who are involved in this will face consequences.

Kripanath Mishra, Principal of DMCH, stated, “Due to fear, the doctors had fled from the emergency services during Friday night, but the emergency service has been restored from Saturday morning. We are going to have a meeting and it will be decided whether the hostel will remain operational or closed in future.”

Dr. Amod Kumar Jha, secretary of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), strongly condemned the occurrence, saying, “In response to the attack on DMCH students and retaliatory violence, there has been a loss of public property on both sides, for which we all doctors express our heartfelt pain and distress. IMA demands from the government that prompt action should be taken after proper investigation of the incident.”

It should be noted that previously, some students protesting against claimed irregularities in Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) exams clashed with police and set fire to a stalled, empty railway compartment in Gaya, Bihar.

Uttar Pradesh: 19-year-old Mohammad Sohail arrested for harassing and molesting young girls by hiding inside burqa

Amidst the ongoing debate over allowing hijab-clad students inside educational institutions, a 19-year-old man clad in a burqa was arrested for harassing girls in Bijnor’s Najibabad town on Saturday.

According to the reports, the culprit, identified as Mohammad Sohail from Pathanpura mohalla of Najibabad, was caught roaming around an educational institute in a burqa in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh.

Initially, the police were unaware that the arrest accused was a male. The police officials had mistaken the accused for a girl after seeing him in a burqa. However, during the interrogation, it came to their notice that the burqa-clad person was not a girl instead, it was Sohail.

Dharamveer Singh, Bijnor superintendent of police, said that Sohail used to harass girls by disguising them wearing a burqa. Then, he would sit beside girls in buses to molest them.

After several girls complained about him, the locals caught the accused, who was then handed over to the police. They also alleged that Sohail used this attire to honeytrap boys and blackmailed them.

The police officials said that Sohail was unwilling to show his face as he would get caught. However, the police officials forced him to remove his burqa, thus revealing his identity.

The Bijnor police have registered a case against Sohail, and an investigation is on in the case.

Allahabad High Court restores plea seeking recognition of Mathura’s Idgah Mosque as Krishna Janmabhoomi, was dismissed earlier due to absence of lawyer

The Allahabad High Court on February 17, gave a green signal to hear a plea submitted by Lawyer Mahek Maheshwari seeking recognition of the Shahi Idgah Mosque at Mathura as Krishna Janmabhoomi – the birthplace of Hindu deity Krishna. The High Court has restored the plea which was dismissed on January 19, 2021, because petitioner Maheshwari and his representative Lawyer were absent during a hearing.

Responding to the application of restoration of plea which was filed immediately after its dismissal, the Allahabad High Court has now decided to hear the Krishna Janmabhoomi case again. The two-member divisional bench comprising of Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice Prakash Kapadia passed an order dated February 17, 2022, to restore the plea which was dismissed by default. The Krishna Janmabhoomi recognition case now goes for a hearing on July 25 this year.

The Krishna Janmabhoomi plea

Lawyer Mahek Maheshwari had filed an instant writ petition to the Allahabad High Court seeking removal of the Shahi Idgah Mosque which was built over the Krishna Janmabhoomi. The petition demands that the site should be handed over to Hindus while a proper trust should be formulated to look after the upkeep of the sacred site. While the matter was up for hearing, the plea requests permission to Hindus to worship at the Mosque certain days a week and on Krishna Janmashtami every year.

In the petition, Maheshwari asked for the court-monitored GPRS based excavation of the disputed site conducted by the Archeological Survey of India (ASI). The plea submitted asserts, “Lord Krishna was born in karagar (jail) of King Kans and the place of his birth lies beneath the present structure raised by the Shahi Idgah Trust,”

The Krishna Janmabhoomi remains a contested issue since 1968 when The Shree Krishnajanmasthan Seva Sangh conceded a sizeable portion of land belonging to the deity to the Management Committee of the Masjid Idgah Trust. Challenging the legality of this erstwhile move, the petition says, “The committee of Management of Trust Masjid Idgah entered into illegal compromise on 12.10.1968 with the Society Shree Krishna Janamasthan Seva Sangh and both have played fraud upon the Court, the plaintiff Deities and devotees with a view to capture and grab the property in question. In fact, Shree Krishna Janmbhoomi Trust is non-functional since 1958.”

Maheshwari added that even on the Government official website of Mathura District, it is stated that Shahi Idgah mosque is built after the demolition of Krishna Janmabhoomi. According to the petitioner, certain architectural elements like carved pillars and antiquities were found in the Mosque courtyard which was recorded by certain workers. Since building a Masjid does not count as an essential religious practice in Islam, the petition by lawyer Mahek Maheshwari asks the disputed land should be handed over to the Hindus for the exercise of their right to freely profess, practise, and propagate religion under Article 25 of the Constitution.

The matter now goes for a fresh hearing on July 25, 2022.

Amritsar: Miscreants dressed as Nihang Sikhs damage Shiva idol at Jagran, Hindu organizations demand action

Miscreants dressed as Nihang Sikhs damaged a Shiva idol at a Jagran close to Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar on March 7. The incident was captured on CCTV. A case has been filed in the incident, and further investigation is underway.

As per reports, a Jagran was being organized by Naujawan Sabha at Katheria Bazaar near Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar. After the Jagran was over at 5:30 AM, some miscreants dressed as Nihang Sikhs damaged the Shiva idol using barcha (lance). The CCTV footage of the area showed five miscreants dressed as Nihang Sikhs appearing from the back of the stage. One of them used the barcha and damaged the idol from behind. Then they moved to the front of the stage.

A few moments later, more miscreants appeared in the footage, and one of them further damaged the idol by hitting it with the barcha with full force. Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri alleged that when the miscreants came in front of the setup, they misbehaved with the organizers and used abusive language.

Hindu organizations demand action

All Indian Hindu Ekta Manch has demanded action against the miscreants. Vikram Gandotra, president of Hindu Ekta Manch, said if the administration fails to take action in seven days, they will hold a protest outside the Hall Gate.

In a video statement, Gandotra said, “The miscreants came dressed as Nihang Sikhs. Who they were could only be revealed after the investigation. It is a condemnable incident. God is one, but the miscreants have started indulging in such incidents for selfish motives.” He further added if the laws have been made only for Hindus as the other side even lynch the person over alleged sacrilege. Gandotra urged the administration to take action within a week else they had to start protests.

Police started investigation

Inspector Sukhwinder Singh was quoted by Hindustan Tehelka News Channel saying, “The police is checking the CCTV footage. There were two miscreants dressed as Nihangs who damaged the idol. Investigation is underway, and the culprits will be apprehended soon.”
