Delhi riots accused declares Jamia Millia a sovereign nation? As Safoora Zargar goes on a rant, here is how the university was used to spread violence

Out on bail riots accused Safoora Zargar, who managed to obtain bail on ‘humanitarian grounds’ because she got pregnant while protesting against the CAA, has termed the police presence at Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi as an ‘occupation’.

Inside Zargar’s head, the Jamia Millia Islamia is probably a sovereign entity and Indian police and paramilitary forces are ‘occupying’ it. This is perhaps what happens when one raises too many ‘Azaadi’ slogans for years in vain. When activism overloads the brain, the very presence of security personnel inside a sovereign nation’s own territory, at a government-funded, government-run university starts to feel like an ‘occupation’, because the Jihadi elements can no longer riot freely.

Zargar’s tweet calling police presence at Jamia Millia an ‘occupation’

“How many of you have gone back & looked at Jamia Millia Islamia since the anti-CAA protest. The campus is absolutely occupied. Police and paramilitary presence is constant, to intimate (she probably meant *intimidate) students creating an atmosphere of abject fear. A new police chowki has come up near gate No 1 of the university to keep constant surveillance on the students. The university is swarmed by policemen of senior rank and paramilitary forces carrying tear gas and lathis, at the drop of a hat.” Zargar tweeted.

Zargar’s tweet calling police presence at Jamia Millia Islamia an ‘occupation’

In the next tweet, Zargar shared, “Jamia Millia Islamia, in the national capital of India, is undoubtedly the most militarized university campus in the country. It is a blatant occupation. Nothing less.”

Next, quoting one Shahid Tantray’s tweet about paramilitary personnel being deployed at Jamia Millia ahead of a protest call against the Hijab ban in Karnataka colleges, Safoora again wrote, “Militarisation of a central university in the national capital of India. Occupation.”

In days leading to the horrifying anti-Hindu Delhi riots in February 2020, Zargar was seen making provocative speeches and whipping up frenzy against the central government with respect to the Citizenship Amendment Bill. After the horrific riots in the national capital, planned and timed to coincide with Donald Trump’s visit to India, Zargar was arrested on April 10, 2020. Months later, she was granted bail because while participating in anti-CAA protests, she had got pregnant.

Jamia Millia Islamia and Delhi riots

While Safoora laments about police presence in the Jamia Millia Islamia campus, she won’t admit how the university was used as a staging ground and operational base by the Islamist rioters in Delhi.

In fact, much before the February riots and the Shaheen Bagh protests, Islamists inside Jamia Millia had started vandalism and arson under the garb of anti-CAA protests.

On December 15, stone-pelting from inside the Jamia campus was caught on camera. Hundreds of students and some non-students inside the campus had attacked police personnel with stones. Eventually, the police had to enter the Jamia campus to flush out the violent elements.

The University administration had later claimed that it was ‘outside elements’ that had entered the campus and its students had nothing to do with violence on December 15. on December 15, violent riots, arson and stone-pelting had happened in the Jamia Nagar area where several buses were torched.

In June 2020, Jamia students were found discussing plans to blow up the proctor’s office and carry out violent protests against the government for slapping UAPA on riot accused. ‘Hinduon se Azadi, Ladh ke lenge Azadi’ and Chheen ke lenge Azadi’ etc slogans were raised at Jamia on December 15, before the ‘protests’ turned violent and widespread arson and stone-pelting started. The violent protestors from Jamia had even torched several vehicles and had attacked police personnel.

Several ‘students’ and ‘student leaders’ of Jamia Millia were arrested for instigating riots and involvement in the violence of the December 15 and February riots. Asif Iqbal Tanha, one of the main accused in the Delhi riots cases, is a Jamia ‘student’. Tanha was arrested under UAPA.

As per a report by Zee News, in a statement made to the Special Cell of the Delhi Police, Delhi riots accused Asif Iqbal Tanha has revealed that he wanted to turn India into an Islamic republic. As per reports, Tanha has admitted to orchestrating a march of 2500-3000 people from Gate no.7 of Jamia Millia Islamia on December 12. He revealed that Sharjeel Imam gave a provocative speech to encourage ‘protestors’ to execute a ‘chakka jam’ on December 13.

Asif Iqbal further revealed that the infamous Jamia Coordination Committee (JCC) was constituted after the violence that ensued between the ‘protestors’ and the police under the pretext of ‘Gandhi peace march.’

Delhi police said entering Jamia was necessary

A number of ‘Left-liberals’ and Islamists have approached the court against the Delhi Police actions in the Jamia Millia. In August 2020, Additional Solicitor General Aman Lekhi made submissions on behalf of the Delhi police in front of a division bench comprising Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan. The Delhi Police had asserted that action taken by the police was necessary and proportionate to the violence unleashed by the mob during the anti-CAA protests.

The police stated further that a large mob of over 2000 people had gathered inside the Jamia campus, armed with stones, petrol bombs and had indulged in arson in the surrounding areas. The police had also stated that there are videos of Jamia rioters stealing petrol from bikes and torching vehicles. Despite numerous appeals by the police to stop violence, the Islamist mob had gathered inside the Jamia campus and had continued attacking the police. Several senior police officers were attacked during the violence.

Madhya Pradesh govt issues show-cause notice to IAS officer Niyaz Khan for his rants against movie ‘The Kashmir Files’: Here is what had happened

On Wednesday, the Madhya Pradesh government issued a show-cause notice to an IAS officer for his tweet on the movie – ‘The Kashmir Files’ suggesting that a film should be made on the suffering of Muslims as well.

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said that IAS officer Niyaz Khan had crossed and violated the limits set for government officials, and hence the government issued a notice for the IAS officer.

Speaking to media, the state home minister said, “I have seen Khan’s tweets. This is a serious issue…he is crossing and violating the Lakshman Rekha (limit) set for (government) officials…the state government will issue a show-cause notice to him and seek his reply.”

On March 18, IAS officer Niyaz Khan, posted as Deputy Secretary in the Public Works Department (PWD) in Madhya Pradesh, had put out a tweet asking the makers of ‘The Kashmir Files’ to make a movie on killings of Muslims.

He had tweeted, “Kashmir File shows the pain of Brahmins. They should be allowed to live safely in Kashmir with all honour. The producer must also make a movie to show the killings of a large number of Muslims across several states. Muslims are not insects but human beings and citizens of the country.”

He had also said that he is “thinking to write a book to show the massacre of Muslims on different occasions so that a movie like Kashmir Files could be produced by some producer, so that, the pain and suffering of minorities could be brought before Indians.”

The officer followed it up with another tweet on Sunday, asking the producer of the movie to donate all the earnings of the film to the Brahmin children’s education and construction of homes for them in Kashmir.

The government office’s rant on the widely acclaimed movie received widespread condemnation, with Madhya Pradesh Medical Education minister Vishwas Sarang had demanded action against Niyaz Khan, saying that the officer’s comments violated All India Services (Conduct) Rules, 1968.

The minister said that he would be writing to the Department of Personnel and Training asking the department to take disciplinary action against the officer, as he promoted sectarianism through his comments.

Vivek Agnihotri responds to Niyaz Khan

Responding to Niyaz Khan’s tweets, The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri sought an appointment from him to exchange ideas.

He tweeted, “Please give an appointment so we can meet and exchange ideas on how we can help and how you can help with the royalty of your books and your power as an IAS officer”.

UP Board makes recital of National anthem mandatory in madrassas, decision taken to end nepotism in recruitment of teachers: Reports

On Thursday (March 24), the Uttar Pradesh Board of Madrassa Education announced that singing of national anthem along with other morning prayers will be mandatory for students in madrassas, reported The Times of India.

The decision was taken during a Board meeting, which was led by Chairman Iftikhar Ahmed Javed. While speaking about the development, he said, “The national anthem is sung in various schools and we want to instil patriotism in madrassa students too, so that they know our history and culture.”

It must be mentioned that the Uttar Pradesh Board of Madrassa Education had announced in 2017 that unfurling of the tricolour and singing of national anthem would be compulsory in madrassas on Independence Day.

During the same meeting, the Board also decided to introduce pre-qualification exams such as the Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET)-based Madrassa Teachers’ Eligibility Test (MTET) for recruitment of madrassa teachers. Iftikhar Ahmed Javed conceded that the Islamic institutes are wrought with nepotism.

He remarked, “Nepotism has become the order of the day in teachers’ recruitment. This is why the board has decided to make MTET mandatory, but the selection process will be finalised by the management. A formal proposal will be sent to the government soon.”

Madrassa licence cancelled for barring students from singing national anthem in UP

In August 2018, the Uttar Pradesh government led by Yogi Adithyanath decided to cancel the registration and derecognized a madrasa in the Maharajganj district after a cleric prevented the students of the institution from singing the national anthem on Independence Day.

In the video that was widely shared widely on social media, the cleric was seen asking the students to avoid singing the national anthem. He then went on to say that it was not “jayaz” (permissible) in Islam. He was then seen asking students to sing ‘Sare jahan se acha’, even as a teacher protested against the cleric’s comments.

Following a probe, the state government decided to derecognise the madrassa and the Uttar Pradesh Madarsa Board released immediate orders to suspend the licence and registration. Maulana Junaid Ansari and two others were arrested on charges of sedition under Section 124-A and 153B (imputation assertion prejudicial to national integrity) for disrespecting the national anthem.

India says no to ‘high-powered’ UK delegation planning to visit Delhi to persuade govt against Russia, trip cancelled last minute

A 10-member ‘high-powered’ delegation of British MPs scheduled to visit Delhi and Rajasthan has called off the India trip after the Indian High Commission raised objections to their tour to India.

According to a report in The Guardian, a high-powered UK delegation led by the Commons Speaker, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, and his deputy was to visit India this week to try and influence India to take a pro-west stand on the ongoing Ukraine-Russia crisis.

Initially, the delegation was to visit to discuss the UK-India free trade deal, however, the purpose of their visit changed after Russia launched its special military operations in Ukraine in February. The 10-member delegation, involving lawmakers across parties, has been in discussion with India since January and was planning to visit Delhi and Rajasthan.

However, the Indian High Commission in Britain has raised objections at the last minute, leading to the cancellation of the tour, as per a report in The Guardian.

The Speaker-led delegation’s visit, the first such visit to India, was part of the British government’s diplomatic efforts to persuade India to take a stand against Russia and probably to join the Western nations in imposing sanctions against Russia has now been cancelled after the Indian government reportedly refused to entertain the British parliamentary delegation.

The specific reason cited for the cancellation of the British MPs’ tour to India is not clear yet, but it is being reported that the Modi government was not inclined to provide a platform for the UK delegation to discuss India’s foreign policy and its stand in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

So far, India, as a responsible global power, has taken a nuanced stand on the Ukraine-Russia crisis considering its own strategic interests. India has abstained from voting on the US-sponsored United Nations resolutions against Russia, with New Delhi saying dialogue is the only answer to settling differences and disputes.

At the same time, the Indian government has called both parties to adhere to UN Charter and international law while asking them to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.

However, the British government and the west want India to take a ‘more aggressive position’ on the Russia-Ukraine issue and condemn Russia. British PM Boris Johnson had also spoken with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to convince India to join the West in condemning Russia.

Several Western powers have been trying to persuade India to join the sanctions against Russia and at least vocally condemned Russia’s actions in Ukraine. But India has maintained neutrality in the conflict, asserting that its concerns are humanitarian and both parties should resolve issues via dialogue.

West keeps buying Russian oil and gas, but wants India to ditch its largest military supplier

It is notable here that while pressurising India to take an anti-Russian stand, Western countries have continued to buy Russian oil and gas worth billions of dollars. Russia has been a trusted strategic partner for India through decades of war and conflict with neighbouring nations and is India’s main supplier of weapons.

British MPs denied entry, deported from India

This is not the first time that the Indian government has taken a serious stand against the British MPs’ actions to influence domestic politics and strategic interests. In fact, in February 2020, the Indian government had denied entry to Debbie Abrahams, a Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom from the Labour Party, after her e-visa was cancelled.

Abrahams, who chaired the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Kashmir (AAPGK), was critical of India’s decision to abrogate Article 370 in August 2019. She had flown to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. However, she was denied entry and sent back to her country.

Similarly, in 2018, British MP and lawyer Alexander Carlile was denied entry into the country as he arrived at the Delhi airport without an appropriate visa. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, he was trying to create problems in Indo-Bangladesh ties.

‘Bitta Karate killed us in open, he killed us in Delhi Assembly’: Kashmiri Hindus react, slam Arvind Kejriwal for calling The Kashmir Files a ‘Jhooti Film’

On 24th of March, Arvind Kejriwal displayed exemplary insensitivity and mocked the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus that took place in the 1990s. While talking in the Delhi Assembly, Kejriwal responded to the demand to make The Kashmir Files, a movie based on the 1990s Hindu genocide in Kashmir’, tax-free in the state.

Arvind Kejriwal, laughing and giggling, said that if they wanted The Kashmir Files to be tax-free, Vivek Agnihotri, the director of the movie, should simply release it on YouTube so everyone can watch it for free. Refusing to stop the insult there, Kejriwal further said that the movie was not based on reality and was a “jhooti film”.

Several Kashmiri Hindus came forward to react sharply to the insults heaped by Arvind Kejriwal in calling The Kashmir Files a ‘jhooti film’. Arguable, The Kashmir Files is the first movie that lays bare the massacre and humiliation faced by the Kashmiri Hindus in the 1990s in Kashmir. There have been several movies in the past, however, they have mostly shown a watered-down version of the truth.

Kashmiri Hindu Utpal Koul took to Twitter to post a picture of his burnt down house in Kashmir. He said that this was his house in Kashmir which had 14 rooms and housed 5,000 books on the culture and history of Kashmir. It was burnt down by Islamic terrorists in the 1990s.

Another Kashmiri Hindu, Ashish, took to Twitter to shame Kejriwal by saying that it was indeed a true movie and not a “jhooti film”. He said it was the story of the genocide of his people.

Pawan Durani, a Kashmiri Hindu activist also commented on the insensitive remarks made by Arvind Kejriwal. He said that in the 1990s, Bitta Karate killed Hindus on the streets of Kashmir and today, Kejriwal killed Hindus inside the Delhi parliament.

Manu Khajuria, another well-known Kashmiri Hindu activist, said that Arvind Kejriwal knew his electoral base and was pandering to them by denying the genocide of Hindus.

Apart from Kashmiri Hindus, several other leaders from different walks of life also responded to the comments made by Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi Assembly. Mohandas Pai, senior businessman, responded with disgust to the comments saying that his statements were hollow, terming his arguments “idiotic”.

When a film is made tax-free in a particular state, the state government lets go of the entertainment tax levied by the state for that particular film. It reduces the price of ticket considerably which makes the film accessible to a wider audience. While Kejriwal led Delhi government had no qualms in making films like Swara Bhaskar’s Nil Batte Sannata and Taapsee Pannu’s Saand Ki Aankh tax-free, a film on Kashmiri Hindu genocide, which truly deserves to be seen by more people, is being mocked by the ruling party in Delhi.

‘Mr. Trudeau, you are a disgrace to any democracy, spare us your presence’, ‘dictatorship’: How Canada PM faced humiliation in EU Parliament

“Mr Trudeau, you are a disgrace to any democracy. Please, spare us your presence,” remarked German member in the European Parliament Christine Anderson. On Wednesday, March 23, she was speaking on the occasion of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visiting the EU Parliament to deliver a speech.

In her address, Andreson decided to give Trudeau an ‘appropriate welcome’ in the EU following his shenanigans in trampling the truckers’ protest against the vaccine mandate in Canada in February this year. In her speech, she remarked, “Based on article 195, I would like to point out that it would have been more appropriate for Mr Trudeau to address this house. According to article 144, which was specifically designed to debate violations of human rights, democracy and the rule of law which is clearly the case with Mr Trudeau.”

She stated further, “Then again, a President who openly admires the Chinese basic dictatorship, who tramples on fundamental rights by persecuting and criminalising his own citizens as terrorists, just because they dared to stand up to his perverted concept of democracy, should not be allowed to speak in this house at all.” Anderson was speaking in reference to Trudeau’s anti-democratic methods to curb the truckers’ protest including invoking the Emergency act.

Croation Member calls Trudeau ‘Dictator’

Trudeau had a hard day in the European Parliament yesterday. Another member from Croatia Mislav Kolakusic lashed out loud against Trudeau in front of him calling his regime a ‘dictatorship of the worst kind.’ Kolakusic stood up to say, “To defend our rights and the rights of our children, which we have acquired over the centuries, many of us are ready to risk our own freedom and our lives. Unfortunately, there are those among us who trample on these fundamental values,” while referring to the presence of Trudeau in the hall.

He went on to say that Canada which once stood as the symbol of the modern world has become a symbol of civil rights violations under Trudeau’s ‘quasi-liberal boot in recent months.’ He added, “We watched how you trample women with horses, block bank accounts of single parents so that they can’t even pay their children; so that they cant pursue education and medicine, that they cant pay utilities and mortgages for their homes.”

He asserted that these may be liberal methods for Justin Trudeau to curb protests, but for many citizens of the world, it was the dictatorship of the worst kind.

How Justin Trudeau trampled democratic values in his home

Justin Trudeau who thought of painting himself as a liberal icon for ‘standing up’ with the farmers agitating against the three farm laws in India, went absolutely bonkers over his ‘democratic commitments’ when people of his own country campaigned against the vaccine mandate in February this year. In a similar fashion, truckers in Canada, being adamant against Trudeau’s unjust Covid-19 regulations blocked highways of Ottawa by erecting permanent structures and stockpiling fuel and food. A group of 2700 truckers in Ottawa organised a freedom protest against Trudeau’s policies for which his dispensation was shamed all over the world.

Trudeau targeted the protestors in many ways. Primarily, he mobilised police forces to strengthen the government’s counter-response against the protestors and reminded them that he will pull out whatever resources needed to get the situation under control. While the protest kept growing in numbers, his government started freezing bank accounts of people linked with the protest. The Canadian government also enforced terror-financing laws to target crowdfunding websites and payment providers on which monetary support for the protest grew.

On February 14, Justin Trudeau invoked the rarely used Emergencies act to target the protestors legally and financially. Under the act, the Police had additional powers to take action against those who were allegedly indulged in illegal activities such as ‘protesting and blocking the road.’

Harsha Bhogle mysteriously disappears from live Instagram interview leading to netizens worry about him, later reveals it was a promotional stunt

In a bizarre and mysterious incident, Cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle disappeared today evening while talking to a sports portal via video link. Harsha Bhogle was talking to cricketsportwalkin on an Instagram live session today evening when suddenly he disappeared from the screen, after the camera apparently fell to the ground with a blurry image. However, later it was revealed that it was a promotional stunt that went wrong, as people started genuinely worry about him.

The Cricket commentator was talking to a host of cricketsportwalkin on an Instagram live session titled Talking Cricket with Harsha Bhogle. He was there to talk about the upcoming IPL tournament.

As seen in a video posted by social media user Jaidev Nandi, Harsha was asked if he sees new team emerging to the frontline this year, or it will be the same MI vs CSK like other years. To this, Harsha Bhogle starts by saying that while MI and CSK are leading the tournament for so many years, it is possible that some new team may also emerge victorious this year. Just after that, the camera moves in a sudden jerky movement, and Harsha Bhagle disappears from the screen, replaced by a blurry image, as the camera might have fallen facing the ground.

With this, voice of Harsha Bhogle is heard in the background, who asks ‘who is it, and what has happened’. It sounded like if someone deliberately knocked his camera/phone down.

Initially, the host assumed that Bhogle accidently dropped his phone, hoping that he will be back on the screen soon. But as the background voice continues, his reaction also changes from funny to concerning, and starts asking what happened. He keeps asking ‘Harsha sir you are fine? Can you hear me?’ but there is no response.

There some noise in the background towards the end of the video, suggesting that the people who had entered the room were confronted.

After that, the host said that there has been inconvenience and ended the session.

Moments after the video was posted on Twitter, Sportwalk responded by saying that they are not aware what happened, and they are trying to contact Harsha Bhogle and his team to get the details.

“We are not sure about what happened, We are trying to get in touch with  @bhogleharsha  and his team. We will update you guys as soon as we get some information!” they tweeted.

After the video appeared, netizens started to wonder what had happened, and many said they are trying to find out the details. However, cricket turned journalist Sunandan Lele has said that there is nothing to worry.

In a short tweet, he said, “Harsha Bhogle is all well not to worry”.

Update: Soon after the video went viral on social media, Harsha Bhogle’s wife Anita Bhogle clarified on Twitter that it was a stunt that misfired. She said that all is well with the commentator, and ‘It was a promo that went viral and unfortunately got everyone worried’. She thanked everyone for their love and concern.

Minutes later, Harsha Bhogle himself tweeted to inform that he is ok. While he directly didn’t say that it was promotional stunt, it was implied from his statemment.

In a cryptic tweet, he said that it was meant to lead to lead to something else, and it became more viral then anticipated. He apologised to everyone for making them worry about himself for some promo attempt, adding that it too was a learning.

Google Trends show more Indians are now wanting to know about the Kashmiri Hindu genocide: Here are the most searched keywords

The Kashmir Files has turned out to be a catharsis for the Hindus. The movie based on the genuine stories of Kashmiri Pandits takes viewers back to the early 1990s when the unrest started in Kashmir due to the increasing Islamic Jihad, driving the vast majority of Hindus away from the valley. Those who refused to leave were butchered by the Kashmiri Jihadi Muslims.

According to estimates, between February and March 1990, around 100,000 of the valley’s total 140,000 Kashmiri Pandit people escaped from the valley. The Vivek Agnihotri directorial film that attempts to tell the brutally honest account of the Kashmiri Hindu genocide in Kashmir has struck a chord among the audience, with people expressing their shock over the incidents that occurred nearly three decades ago. They are also angry against the erstwhile ‘secular-liberal’ establishment for erasing such heinous attacks against Hindus from public memory.

After coming out of theatres, more Indians want to know about the Kashmiri Hindus and the genocide that was unleashed against the community. So for the last 30 days, more Indians have been on the internet to search for information on Kashmiri Pandits and their horrific killings.

Here is the analysis 30 day Google Trends data for the keyword ‘Kashmiri Pandit’. The film – ‘The Kashmiri Pandit’ was released on March 11, 2022. The search for Kashmiri Pandit on Google started a week before the movie was released, and within a week on March 15, the trend picked up to reach a peak value of 100. More people wanted to know about what happened to Kashmiri Pandits. The movie became a triggering effect for people to uncover the dark history of radical Islamic terrorism that led to the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in the valley.

Google search trend for ‘Kashmiri Pandit’ for last 30 days

The Hindus. who have watched the movie have also searched for information about Kashmiri Hindus. Since March 11, many have searched for information on key topics that are associated with the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus.

Google search trend for ‘Kashmiri Hindus’ for last 30 days

‘Kashmiri Pandit Genocide’ is another term that was picked by Google, indicating that more people wanted to know about the genocide only after they watched the movie. Essentially, the Vivek Agnihotri-directorial movie has woken up Hindus from their deep slumber.

The people who watched the movie are now looking for specific information on the Kashmiri Pandit victims. The stories of victims of the genocide like Girija Tickoo, BK Ganjoo, and others are finally reaching the masses. The masses are searching for details of these victims and their stories. The brutalities hidden from the common masses for over three days are gradually coming out.

Girija Tickoo, a Kashmiri Pandit, who was gang-raped and cut in half using a mechanical saw by the radical Islamists, has been one of the top-searched keywords in the last month. Soon after the release of the movie, the audience who discovered the shocking truth about the terror unleashed against Girija Tickoo and her family took to the internet to confirm the real incident.

BK Ganjoo was also one of the top-searched keywords last month. One of the most heart-wrenching scenes of the film directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is where a woman is force-fed rice soaked in her husband’s blood. This was the recreation of a brutal murder from 1990 when terrorists had come searching for engineer BK Ganjoo, who had hidden in a rice barrel. Ganjoo, whose secret location was identified by a neighbouring Muslim family, was shot dead by the terrorists who fired multiple rounds at the rice barrel allowing the blood to drip out of the container. The rice soaked in the blood was then forcefully fed to Ganjoo’s wife.

The netizens also searched for information on Google about Kashmiri Muslims – the silent enablers and the perpetrators of the genocide against Kashmiri Hindus.

The public also searched about the perpetrators of this violence like terrorists Yasin Malik, Bitta Karate alias Farooq Ahmed Dar.

Yasin Malik, the chief of pro-Pakistan terror outfit Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), played a chief role in the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir. He is accused of funding terror in Kashmir. He has been arrested in a case related to funding and perpetrating terror on Indian soil. You can read a detailed report on Yasin Malik here.

Similarly, people also searched for more information on Bitta Karate alias Farooq Ahmed Dar, another notorious Pakistan sponsored Islamic terrorist who waged war against the Indian state for decades.

In an interview in 1991, the Pakistan-sponsored terrorist had admitted to killing more than 20 Kashmiri Pandits. Dubbed as the “Butcher of Pandits”, Bitta Karate also went on to become the top terrorist of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) before being arrested in June 1990.

The Google trends picked up active engagement by users on keyword ‘Bitta Karate’ since the movie ‘The Kashmir Files’ was released on March 11.

Besides terrorists who unleashed terror on the innocent Hindus in the valley, people are also searching for information on anti-India elements within the country who provided intellectual cover for these crimes and absolved the Jihadi Islamists from their crime.

Far-left anti-India propagandist Arundhati Roy, who intends to free Kashmir from India in the future, was one of the most searched individuals ever since the movie was released. The people want to know more about the role these left-liberal ‘intellectuals’ played in destabilising India and inciting terror against the Hindus living in the valley.

Nivedita Menon is another far-left propagandist whose name has surfaced yet again in the social media circles for instigating young students within university campuses to take up arms against the state. Menon, a professor of political science at JNU, has been caught several times brainwashing students to seek independence for Kashmir.

Well, the movie has achieved the unthinkable – waking up Hindus to reality. The most significant success of the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ is that it has successfully awakened the common Hindus, who were otherwise reluctant and lethargic, to discuss the critical issues that threaten not just the civilisation values, but our own existence. However, the movie has made Hindus realise the extent of the threat a Hindu is facing today and the resulting consequences to be suffered if we do not stand up against the present dangers that we are encountering.

Birbhum violence: TMC leader Anarul Hussain arrested after victim’s kin accuse him of masterminding the carnage, NHRC issues notice to Mamata govt

Relatives of the deceased eight people who were mercilessly assaulted and burnt alive by unknown miscreants in West Bengal’s Birbhum district on the night of March 21 (Monday) have named TMC block president Anarul Hussain as the key conspirator of the attack. Mihilal Sheikh and Banirul, two relatives of the deceased victims also alleged the state police’s negligence in handling the case. The attack was believed to be retaliation after a local Trinamool Congress leader, Bhadu Sheikh, was killed in a crude bomb attack.

According to the victims, when the incident occurred, women and children had locked themselves in a room out of fear. The attackers were aware of this, still, they set the room ablaze. The victim’s family further claimed that not eight, but ten members of their household were burned to death on Monday night, and instead of returning the bodies to them, the police buried them in the village overnight.

“We could not contact the District Magistrate. But the police should have handed over the bodies to us. Instead, we learnt that they buried them at night in the village. This is unacceptable,” said Mihilal Sheikh.

The victim’s kin also refuted the allegation that the incident was an act of retribution for the killing of a panchayat official of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in the state.

Mihilal’s brother disputed the police version as well as the family of the slain TMC leader, who accused Mihilal, his brother-in-law Sona, and Fatikh of murdering him. “He is a TMC deputy pradhan and leader in the village. We are just supporters of TMC. We cannot imagine doing such a thing. I had no enmity with him,” said Banirul.

Hussain, the TMC block president of Rampurhat, was arrested earlier today, hours after TMC chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee directed the police to nab him for not paying attention to local people’s apprehension of possible disturbance in the area, which ultimately led to the carnage.

NHRC sends notice to Mamata Banerjee govt seeking a report on massacre

Meanwhile, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) issued a notice to the West Bengal government and the state’s police chief on Thursday in connection with the killing of eight people in Birbhum district, officials said and requested a report within four weeks detailing the steps taken to ensure people’s safety.

The human rights body took to Twitter to share its press release on the recent brutal massacre in Birbhum. “NHRC takes suo motu cognizance of media reports on burning of 8 persons in #Birbhum district, West Bengal; Calls for reports from the State Government”, Tweeted NHRC.

The press release read, “Issuing the notices, the Commission has also observed that going by the contents of the media reports, the incident of hate violence indicates that the law and order is not appropriate in the area.

“According to the media reports, the doctors at Rampurhat Government Hospital, where the bodies were taken for post-mortem, stated that the condition of the bodies made their work very difficult. It is further stated that the presence of blood suggests that the victims were first physically attacked and then the houses were put on fire,” read the NHRC press release.

According to a senior official, the NHRC has issued a notice to the West Bengal government through the chief secretary and the state’s director general of police (DGP) in connection with the killing of eight people in Bogtui village in Birbhum district.

The official added that the commission has requested a detailed report within four weeks, detailing the status of the FIRs registered, the steps taken to ensure the safety of the people in the village, and any relief or rehabilitation provided by the state government.

Birbhum killing

On March 22 late-night, a group of enraged miscreants set ablaze around 12 homes which resulted in the gruesome death of eight people including women and innocent children in Birbhum’s Rampurhat. The autopsy report of the burnt bodies shows that the people were beaten before they were locked in their homes before the houses were set on fire. The massacre had taken place in retaliation of the alleged murder of a TMC leader.

Khushi Ahmed, who got married to a Dalit boy named Sumit Kudiya said on Monday that she believed in the powers of Lord Shiva and that she daily worships the Hindu deities. Khushi and Sumit got married to each other in the year 2021 after which they fled from their home in Delhi following severe attacks by the girl’s family. The attacks continued despite a video was released by Khushi and Sumit saying that they both had married each other out of love and that nobody had forced Khushi to marry outside her religion.

Team OpIndia on Monday met Khushi and Sumit who have now returned to their home in the Sarai Kale Khan area of Delhi. Khushi said that she is happy to be a part of Sumit’s family and that she worships the Hindu deities wholeheartedly. “I believe in Lord Shiva. I worship him and perform the puja daily”, she said adding that she is granted all kinds of freedom by her new family. However, the family of Sumit is still suffering from the consequences of the aggressive attacks horned by Khushi Ahmed’s relatives a year ago.

Last year after the marriage, Khushi’s family had launched attacks in the locality where Sumit and his family had been staying for past many years. They had also threatened his father and had destroyed his house. Team OpIndia on March 21 observed that some parts of the house and the locality were still under construction.

‘We lost our jobs, no compensation received’, Sumit’s father Kishandeep

In an exclusive conversation with OpIndia, Sumit’s father Kishandeep informed that the atmosphere in the Sarai Kale Khan area is fine now but people are still afraid and are taking precautions from their side. However, they have not received any threats after the incident. Further, he said that during the crisis, people associated with BJP and RSS helped his family a lot but no one helped from the organizations who play politics in the name of Dalits. According to him, AAP councillors had also once visited him and left after unimplemented assurance of installing CCTV cameras for safety purposes.

“At present, there is no security in the area. The paramilitary has also moved out. We have not received any compensation for our loss. The case is still pending. Those who were arrested were released due to the COVID protocols within a month. After that nobody went back to the prisons. We demand legal action against the attackers so that they don’t do the same to anyone else in the future”, Kishandeep added.

Kishandeep further stated that his family is suffering financially. He said that he used to work in a hotel and both he and his daughter were made to resign from their jobs after the incident. “I had some money in hand and had to spend it on my daughter’s wedding. We do not have any source of income right now. I had met Khushi’s family before the marriage and had tried to convince them to agree upon the marriage for our children. I was even ready to stamp my property in Khushi’s name but they refused and kept on abusing us on our caste”, he stated.

‘Several Hindu organisations helped us’, says Sumit’s mother

Also, Sumit’s mother Rajni said to OpIndia that Khushi is happily staying with them and has willfully adopted the Hindu way of living. “Khushi is very happy in our house. Sometimes her younger sister comes to see her”, she said. She also added that now nobody was issuing threats to them as several Hindu organizations have been in support of the Dalit family after the incident.

Khushi Ahmed who has now become a Khushi Kudiya also said that she is happy with Sumit and his family. “I am very happy here. My family had a problem with Sumit’s caste”.

Sumit demands strict Police action-

Meanwhile, Sumit also confirmed that the family of the girl was no more threatening him or his family for marrying Khushi. He said, “I was not scared at the time of marriage as I was not aware of the upcoming chaos. We (I and Khushi) had told Khushi’s family about our relationship before the marriage but they didn’t listen to us. They abused me and my family and commented on our caste. We got married and then went to Gaziabad and returned nearly two months after the violent attacks stopped. My wife now doesn’t go to see her parents. I have occasional conversations with them on the phone”.

Recalling the events of violence from the past year, Sumit said that the then SHO Praveen Kumar and outpost in-charge Pradeep Kumar had refused to nab the main heads behind the attack though they were clearly visible in the CCTV footage. “Now both have been transferred. The Police have taken the DVR of our CCTV for investigation. They haven’t returned it to us since then. It’s been a year. What if we are attacked again tomorrow? How will we prove it?”, he said expressing concern for the safety of his family.

In March 2021, the Muslim mob had attacked many Dalit families in Sarai Kale Khan of Delhi along with Sumit’s family. The CCTV footage had captured the faces of attackers who hit the Dalits with sticks, bricks, and swords. They destroyed the assets belonging to the Dalits and threatened them for life. The Police had arrested 4 main accused and identified them as Farman, Shahrukh, Hasan Ali, and Raja from the CCTV record.

‘All the accused released, roaming free’, Sumit’s neighbor Rohit

According to Rohit, who stays in the neighborhood of Sumit and also was the victim of the mob attack, the accused have now been released and are roaming free. “They had tried to tear the clothes of my 10-year-old sister. Nobody is under arrest at present. They all have been released and are roaming free”. He added that they visit the locality sometimes and keep staring at the Dalit people.

OpIndia tried to contact SHO Vijay Shanwal of Sunlight Colony police station to know about the progress of the case regarding the complaints of the victims but to no avail. The SHO said, “We can’t disclose the information. In case there is any problem, you may send us the official application”.
