Ahead of Ayodhya verdict, RSS cancels several events in November, appeals everyone to accept the verdict and maintain peace

0

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has cancelled all its scheduled events lined up for the month of November and has asked its workers to cancel their respective touring schedules ahead of the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Ram Janmabhumi-Babri Masjid title dispute case slated on November 17.

Media reports quoting RSS sources have stated that the Sangh wants to be on alert during the crucial time of the verdict and after its announcement. “After the verdict, in case something happens, then the blame should not be pinned on them”, claimed reports.

Media reports also claimed that the organisation has also reportedly decided to call off a meeting scheduled from 31 October to 4 November in Haridwar, keeping in view the pending decision in the case. But RSS denied the reports and said that the meeting will take place as scheduled, but it has been shifted from Haridwar to Delhi.

Top leaders of the organisation and its affiliates including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Sangh top leaders Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi and Dattatreya Hosabale are also slated to be present in the meeting. Some BJP leaders were also expected to be present in the meeting.

The organisation informed that although the meeting with pracharaks will take place in Delhi, the pracharak varg has been kept on hold due to necessary reasons.

The RSS has also cancelled some other programmes which were scheduled in November, including the “Ekal Kumbh’ in Lucknow on November 17 and the Durga Vahini camp in Ayodhya on November 4.

The Haridwar meeting was slated to be held at the Ashram of spiritual guru Satpal Maharaj. Discussions over the design, planning and construction of a grand Ram Temple in case of a favourable verdict, the workings of the Modi government and the post-370 situations in Jammu and Kashmir are some of the topics that are on the agenda for the meeting that will now take place in Delhi.

RSS has also said that it is everyone’s responsibility to maintain peace in the country after SC verdict on Ayodhya. They said that the Supreme Court is expected to deliver its verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi in the coming days, and whatever may be the verdict, people should accept it with open mind. They said that this matter will also be discussed in the meeting.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on October 16 had reserved its judgement in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute case after hearing arguments from all the concerned parties. The marathon hearing concluded after forty days, making the Ayodhya hearing as the second-longest in the history of the Supreme court after the landmark hearing in Keshavananda Bharati case which lasted for 68 days.

Though the SC has reserved its verdict, many Hindu groups have stated that they are expecting a verdict in favour of the Ram Temple at the disputed site.

Nuclear Power Corporation confirms malware infection in computers at Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant, says main system not affected

0

A day after Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant denied reports that the facility had come under cyber-attack, the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited had acknowledged that some systems in the plant were indeed breached. In a statement issued today, NPCIL said that “identification of malware in NPCIL system was correct,” while adding that the affected system was not connected to the main system of the power plant.

“The matter was conveyed by CERT-In when it was noted by them on September 4, 2019,” the press release said. NPCIL further added that the matter was investigated by Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) specialists, where it was found that the infected computer belonged to a user who was connected to a network connected with the Internet for administrative purposes. They informed that this network is isolated from the critical internal network operating the nuclear power plant.

The NPCIL statement

The NPCIL statement added that the investigation has confirmed that the control systems of the plant are not affected, and the networks are continuously monitored.

After reports emerged that computer systems of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant were compromised, the plant had issued a statement yesterday denying them, KKNPP had said that its control systems are isolated from external networks, and they can’t be breached. But the statement was silent about the status of administrative and other non-core networks of the plant which are connected with the internet.

Today’s NPCIL statement confirms that the information originally published about the breach by cybersecurity expert Pukhraj Singh was correct. He had said that a cybersecurity firm had detected that attackers had gained domain controller-level access at Kudankulam. He had also said that he had informed the National Cyber Security Coordinator about the breach on 4th September. Responding the KKNPP’s denial, he had said that the coordinator had confirmed the breach in email exchanges.

Other Twitter users had posted logs of the breach, which showed that the system at the plant was infected with DTrack malware, a data-stealing and cyberespionage tool developed by North Korea’s Lazarus Group.

‘We are very angry at being called Nazi lovers,’ European Union Parliamentarians on Owaisi’s allegation

An unofficial delegation of European Union Parliamentarians (MEPs) visited Jammu & Kashmir on Wednesday in order to assess the situation in the state. They have asserted that the situation in the state is an internal matter of India and they will not be submitting any report to the European Union.

During a press briefing, the EU MPs also slammed Asaduddin Owaisi’s remark where he claimed that they were Nazi lovers. “We are not Nazi lovers. If we were, we would have not been elected. We are very angry at being called Nazi lovers,” one of them said. Asaduddin Owaisi had made the allegation through a tweet on Tuesday.

The delegation also asserted that terrorism was Kashmir’s biggest concern and they stand with India in this fight. They also condemned the murder of migrant labourers in the state. “If we talk about Article 370 it is India’s internal matter. What concerns us is terrorism which is a global menace and we should stand with India in fighting it. There was an unfortunate incident of killing of five innocent labourers by terrorists. We condemn it,” said Henri Malosse from France.

Malosse also asserted that Kashmir has the potential to become one of the most dynamic regions of the country. He also said that Kashmir, despite receiving numerous subsidies, had remained backwards due to the prevailing circumstances. He said that now there is hope and the infrastructure and other facilities have to be improved.

Thierry Mariani, also from France, told reporters that he was not here to interfere in India’s internal matters but to receive some first-hand knowledge about the situation in Kashmir. He, too, asserted that India deserves support in its fight against terrorism. “Terrorists can destroy a country. I have been to Afghanistan and Syria and I have seen what terrorism has done. We stand with India in its fight against terrorism,” he said. Addressing media reports and the comment from Owaisi where they were called fascists, he said, “By calling us fascists, our image has been tarnished. It’s better that one should know about us properly before tarnishing our image.”

Newton Dunn from the United Kingdom described the visit as an “eye-opener” and asserted that he will advocate what he saw at “ground zero”. He also emphasized that there’s a need to stand by India in its fight against global terrorism. “We belong to a place Europe which is peaceful after years of fighting. And we want to see India becoming the most peaceful country in the world. And for that, we need to stand by India in its fight against global terrorism. This visit has been an eye-opener and we would definitely advocate what we have seen on ground zero,” he told reporters.

An MEP from Poland, Ryszard Czarnecki, highlighted the biased coverage of the international media. He said, “The international media coverage seems biased. Once we go back to our countries we will inform them of what we saw.” Nicolaus Fest, another MEP, said that if the government permits MEPs to enter the state, then it should also allow opposition leaders from India to visit it. He said that there was ‘some kind of disbalance’ which the government should address.

Manipur govt registers case of waging war against State against two Manipuri separatists who had launched ‘govt in exile’ in UK

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh today said that a case of waging war against the State has been registered against two Manipuri separatist leaders for setting up Manipur’s ‘government in exile’ in the UK.

He said that the government takes it very seriously and the case has been handed over to special crime branch for immediate investigation.

Manipur’s titular king, Leishemba Sanajoaba, too, condemned the same and said that he is shocked that the two separatists dragged his name into this.

On Tuesday, two dissident leaders from Manipur claiming to be the representatives of King Leishemba Sanajaoba announced the launch of the “Manipur Government in exile” in London. Addressing a press conference, Yamben Biren, who claimed to be the ‘Chief Minister of Manipur State Council’ and Narengbam Samarjit, claiming to be the ‘Minister of External Affairs and Defence of Manipur State Council’ said they were speaking on behalf of the ‘Maharaja of Manipur’ to formally launch the government in exile — “The Manipur State Council”.

The two separatists, Biren and Samarjit produced some documents to suggest that they have been granted political asylum in the UK in August this year. They claimed that the ‘de jure government’ is shifted from Manipur to London.

“The state of Manipur is a de jure Government formed in Manipur under the Manipur State Constitution Act 1947. It received independence from the British Raj on August 14, 1947. They claimed the sovereign State of Manipur was excluded from India by the Order in Council by his Majesty on 27 December 1946 and the Indian Government annexed the Manipur State of India by the violation of the Act 1949,” the separatists claimed.

The two leaders said that they would make an appeal to Queen Elizabeth II and after getting an order from the Privy Council they would move the United Nations for recognition.

Manipur, a land of diverse cultures and ethnicities is a multicultural society comprising of Naga, Kuki and Meitei tribes. However, the ‘divide and rule policy’ of the British in relation to administering the hills and plains of Manipur and the introduction of Christianity has widened the cultural gap among these communities.

Over a period of time, separate aspirations and insecurity regarding overlapping claims over natural resources, added with help from neighbouring countries has led some of the groups and insurgents to move towards separatist movements. Till today, some of the Meitei insurgent groups continue to wage an insurgency in the name of self-determination and restoration of lost sovereignty.

The Naga insurgent group – NSCN(IM)’s demand for the formation of Nagalim, including the four districts of Manipur is also seen as a threat to Manipur’s territorial integrity. Meanwhile, the Kukis demand a separate statehood for the Kukis. The Kuki State Demand Committee (KSDC) was formed on November 2, 2010, to seek a ‘Kuki state’, which is to be carved out of their ancestral land in Manipur.

Rahul Gandhi’s mysterious foreign trip is for ‘meditation’, says Congress leader Randeep Surjewala

After losing two assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has embarked upon yet another foreign visit to Indonesia.

Rahul Gandhi had earlier gone to Bangkok before the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana, which had raised doubts about Rahul’s suspicious visits to foreign countries. He was also questioned regarding his leadership after he left the party in the lurch amidst such crucial assembly elections

On Wednesday, Congress Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala confirmed that Rahul Gandhi had left the country for another foreign trip. Surjewala revealed that the Gandhi-scion had gone on a ‘meditational visit’.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, he further stated that the Congress’ scheduled press conferences against the centre for the so-called economic slowdown was drafted as per Gandhi’s direction. Surjewala added that Rahul Gandhi is known to take such trips from time-to-time.

However, the claim made by Surjewala that former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has gone on a foreign trip to attend ‘meditation’ camp has left social media in splits.

A social media user reacting to Surjewala’s presser said that Rahul Gandhi was in some kind of ‘medication’ rather than ‘meditation’ and asked that on what sort of medication Rahul Gandhi is. Is Rahul Gandhi suffering from Modiphobia, he asked.

Another social media user took a dig at Rahul Gandhi saying that he too liked to go to Kasol time-to-time for “meditating”. Apparently, Kasol is known for illegal marijuana trade.

Few other users questioned Rahul Gandhi’s decision to travel to a foreign destination at a time when India is being promoted as a destination for Yoga and meditation.

Interestingly, Congress party is scheduled to hold 35 press conferences between November 1 and November 8 against the economic policies and decisions of PM Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre. The protest was incidentally planned by Rahul Gandhi, according to Surejwala. However, it is rather strange that Rahul Gandhi has decided to skip the protest event that he himself planned and instead of visiting ‘meditation’ camps.

Muslim immigrant in Denmark jailed for threatening to behead the Danish royal family, wife claims he gets high on hashish

0

A 33-year old Muslim resident of Copenhagen, Denmark, has been sentenced to 10-days judicial custody by a local court in Denmark after he was found guilty of issuing death threats to the Danish Royal family through his social media posts.

In a series of Facebook posts, the man, who has reportedly been radicalised, threatened to behead the Queen of Denmark, Margrethe II, along with the whole Danish Royal Family. Moreover, the man working in Sweden also threatened to kill the Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf as well as the founder and leader of the far-right party, Hard-line, in Denmark, Rasmus Paladin. The party is known for its strong anti-Islamic views.

“I cut the head of Queen [Margrete II] and the whole [Danish] Royal family. I have warned, and I won’t go for anything other than the throat”, the man reportedly wrote on Facebook.

Moreover, in-between October 16 to 24, he had allegedly written five more posts in which along with the Danish Queen he threatened the Swedish King, Carl XVI Gustaf. He wrote: “Last warning to the Swedish police and border police if I do not receive an answer soon, then, with God’s will, I will put down the state and the king, even if I am then forced to sever his head from his body”, threatened the Islamist.

He also posted a photo of Rasmus Paludan, the leader of Swedish a far-right party, Hard-line (Danish: Stram Kurs), which has burnt copies of the Quran to celebrate freedom of speech in Denmark. “If you are a man, show your face in public, and if you burn the words of the Quran, I will burn entire Denmark including you”, the man wrote.

His wife feared that he was suffering from a mental illness due to the overdose of hashish which he was regularly smoking up. Owing to his abnormal behaviour and the growing violent streak, she had reportedly urged him to seek out a psychologist and also reported him to the local Imam and then to the Copenhagen Police.

During his hearing, the man held that he is practising Islam but was not ‘excessively religious’ and that he was growing a beard merely to see whether it suited him. His arguments apparently didn’t convince the Danish court which sentenced him to jail for 10 days and charged with making threats to do bodily harm.

The man has a Swedish residence permit but lives in Copenhagen with his wife and daughter. He reportedly travels daily to the Swedish city of Malmo for work.

Shahid Siddiqui claims Muslims killed Baghdadi’s ideology, but radical Islamic terrorism continues to thrive

Shahid Siddiqui, prominent Muslim ‘intellectual’, has been making pretty startling claims about the dead ISIS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi on Twitter. Today, he claimed that Baghdadi was the ‘biggest enemy of Islam’ in the current century. Most astonishingly, however, Siddiqui claimed that it wasn’t Americans who killed Baghdadi’s ideology but Muslims.

To be clear, Baghdadi’s ideology is not dead yet. Not even the terrorist organization he led is dead yet. Therefore, it’s much too early to announce who killed Baghdadi’s ideology given the fact that it’s very much alive and thriving. Another claim that is being made is that 99% of Muslims hated ISIS. That’s simply not true. Although they were viewed as overwhelmingly negative, support for them was not numerically insignificant.

According to a survey by PEW in 2015, 21% of people in Syria supported ISIS. In Libya, it was 7%, Nigeria 14%, Tunisia 13%, Malaysia 11% and Pakistan 9%. These numbers may appear small statistically but numerically, these are huge numbers and a matter of great concern.

Source: Independent

Furthermore, it needs to be understood that ISIS isn’t the only face of Radical Islam. It’s one of radical Islamic trrrorism’s many faces. And these numerous terrorist organizations are often fighting each other as well and disagree with each other on several matters. Therefore, a person may not support ISIS but be a supporter of radical Islamic terrorism nonetheless.

Apart from ISIS, some major Islamic terror organisations that share its ideology include the Taliban, Al-Qaida, Boko Haram, Al-Shabaab etc. Moreover, there are numerous organisations operating at the local level in various countries.

In Pakistan, for example, where ISIS has the support of 9% of the population, numerous other terrorist organizations thrive and prosper. The country uses terrorism as state policy against India. Therefore, support for ISIS cannot be a metric for favourable attitudes toward Radical Islamic Terrorism. For instance, Kashmir is a hub of Radical Islamic Terrorism but it has very little to do with ISIS. Thus, Siddiqui’s argument is fundamentally flawed.

Shahid Siddiqui was the subject of much ridicule and mockery on social media for his tweet.

Shahid Siddiqui is known to engage in obfuscation on such occasions. For instance, two days after Kamlesh Tiwari was murdered by Jihadis, he was involved along with others in an attempt to deflect attention from the perils of radical Islamic terrorism and accusing the ‘Hindutva brigade’ of hatred.

West Bengal: BJP minority cell member Amir Ali killed in a clash in Hooghly, party blames TMC goons

Another BJP worker in Arambagh area of Hooghly district fell prey to the political violence which has been continuing unchecked in the state of West Bengal. A 32-year-old BJP minority cell member Amir Ali was killed allegedly by TMC supporters and workers on October 27 (Sunday). Four people have been arrested so far in connection to the killing.

Blaming the TMC goons for the murder, the BJP has called for a 12-hour bandh in Arambagh on Wednesday. Trinamool Congress has, however, denied the allegations calling it a “fallout of personal enmity”.

Police said that the situation in the area remained tense after the victim, Sheikh Amir Ali, who was an e-rickshaw driver in the area and an active member of the minority cell of the BJP, was allegedly beaten up during the group clash on Sunday afternoon. Ali succumbed to his injuries at Calcutta Medical College in Kolkata.

The police have arrested four people, including two women named Chhobi Bibi and Tagari Bibi for instigating Amir’s murder.

Once news of the death reached Arambag, BJP workers from nearby villages gathered at Amir’s locality and blocked the Kolkata-Arambag Road around 12.30 pm. Riled BJP workers went on a rampage, vandalising four TMC offices in the area since Sunday. West Bengal police have arrested two BJP workers in this connection, confirmed sources.

Those arrested include two named in the FIR, Chhobi Bibi and Tagari Bibi, for allegedly instigating the groups, while police nabbed two others not named in the FIR.

“We have arrested four people in the case. The investigation is on. The motive of the murder is yet to be known. He had multiple injuries on the body, but we are waiting for the post-mortem report,” said a senior police officer.

TMC ruled West Bengal has a history of political violence which has aggravated ever since BJP has made successful inroads into the state. BJP has long been alleging its workers are being targetted and killed for political gains.

There have been constant reports of political murders and targetting of BJP workers in the TMC ruled state. On October 12, it was reported that yet another BJP worker hailing from Ranaghat in TMC ruled West Bengal’s Nadia district has been brutally shot dead.

According to reports, 50-year-old BJP leader Harlal Debnath of booth number 21 of Habibpur Panchayat of Ranaghat police station was returning home after closing his shop late at night when he was shot dead on October 11 (Friday) night by some miscreants.

Recently, a female BJP worker Sankari Bagdi was also shot to death during a clash with TMC workers in Birbhum. The TMC goons had reportedly targeted her son when the bullet hit Bagdi.

Paris: Audience of Joker movie flee cinema hall after man shouts ‘Allahu Akbar’ to rob people

0

In a shocking incident, a screening of Hollywood movie ‘Joker’ in Paris was disrupted on Sunday night after a man yelled Islamic slogan “Allahu Akbar” in an alleged attempt to spark panic in order to stage a robbery.

According to reports, the shocking incident occurred after a 34-year-old man shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ at the Grand Rex cinema on Sunday 27 October where the recent Hollywood blockbuster movie Joker was being screened. According to a witness, the man first started repeatedly shouting “It’s political!”, which initially drew laughs from the audience. Soon other audience members asked him to “shut up” while others began to panic, the witness said.

After the shouts of “It’s political,” the man stood up, placed his hands on his chest and started yelling “Allahu akbar!,” or ‘God is great’ in Arabic, said the witness.

“People panicked, ran to the exits,” the source reportedly said. “Some were crying. A mother was looking for her daughter,” he added. Another witness reportedly said that the people were climbing over seats to escape while others were on the floor and being stepped over.

Reportedly, his actions caused panic and chaos inside the cinema as people scrambled from their seats and made for the exit, as someone in the audience claimed the man had a gun, which later turned out to be incorrect.

Speaking to the media, the director of the Grand Rex said that the suspect, working with another accomplice, staged the incident on purpose in order to rob valuables left behind by fleeing audience members. “They were two thieves looking for a way to take people’s phones and bags. Apparently they had already used the same tactic once on a train,” he said. He added that the cinema is pressing charges against the suspect.

As jihadi terrorists often chant ‘Allahu Akbar’ before blowing themselves up with suicide bombs or attacking people with firearms and other weapons, the Islamic expression nowadays creates panic when shouted in public places. The suspects wanted to take advantage of this fear among people for the expression.

When the man tried to leave the theatre, he was apprehended by several moviegoers and a security guard, although he eventually managed to escape in the chaos. But one person managed to snatch his jacket, which contained a phone and a pass bearing the man’s name. The man was later arrested by Paris police, and he didn’t have any weapon with him. The theatre was evacuated after the screening of the movie had ended, and Paris police sent bomb squad and sniffer dogs to search for weapons or explosives, but no suspicious item was found.

Faithless, directionless state: The ‘Secular State’ has been hijacked to work against the welfare of its very own citizenry

There’s something fundamentally broken in the way how the country is run, isn’t there? We might differ on what exactly it is but deep down, we are all aware that things are not as they should be. Matters of serious concern do not receive as much attention as they should while trivial matters incur the wrath of the Indian state.

There is a backlog of lakhs and lakhs of cases in the Courts, if not crores, and yet, the Judiciary finds the time to waste its resources and that of the state on the most frivolous of matters. ‘Civil society’ impedes a host of infrastructure projects while the Judiciary continues to entertain them. At the same time, the Judiciary finds enough time to offer numerous edicts on how Hindus should celebrate their festivals. It has been overzealous in recent times in its attempts to reform Hinduism and the political establishment has done nothing thus far to put a stop to it. Needless to say, there’s something more fundamental about the matter at hand here.

The unprecedented and atrocious general trend that has gripped the country in recent times is a matter of great concern indeed. It’s important to understand that people did not vote for this. Democracy claims to be a government by the people, of the people, and for the people. In reality, it is mobocracy at best and the rule by an unaccountable elite at its worst. There appears to be a great schism between the ruling establishment, both the political and the judicial, and the citizens of this country. If such differences are allowed to persist for too long, the inevitable consequence would be anarchy.

Read: Delhi Police arrests 261 people for possessing crackers on Diwali, two arrested for having two ‘sutli bombs’

People are being treated as criminals for engaging in festivities in the traditional way while governments are too afraid to take action against actual criminals. The ruling establishment is busy criminalizing more and more ordinary victimless activities while it doesn’t even have the capacity of enforcing its own laws. There’s something fundamentally broken in our country today and unless this is addressed, things will not get better.

Who is to blame?

How did we go from bursting crackers during Diwali as a matter of tradition to a point where the practice is not just demonized but banned by law, violation of which leads to imprisonment? Of course, it didn’t happen in a day. The citizenry was exposed to propaganda for over a decade and ultimately, when the resistance of the population was sufficiently broken, firecrackers were banned by the secular state of India.

The ruling political establishment has to take its share of the blame as well. But the fundamental issue at hand here is the fact that the Secular State has an insatiable urge to reform the Hindu religion as they see fit. Since they can’t reform Islam, they overcompensate for their failure by going overboard on Hinduism.

Not just Diwali, the Secular State wants to decide the height of Dahi Handis, it has banned Pashubali in Tripura, it outlawed the traditions of the Sabarimala Temple. And during all this time, the Secular State hasn’t found the moral integrity required to pass judgment on the Ram Janambhoomi case. There’s something fundamentally wrong here and even political parties that claim to respect Hindu sentiments are not immune to the affliction of Secularism.

Read: After Sabarimala, now Maa Tripureswari Temple, the Judiciary is killing the diversity of traditions within Hinduism

From what we have seen so far, the urge of Secular States to reform religion, mostly of the dominant religion of its citizenry, is insatiable. We see it in the West and we see it in India. While Secularism advertises itself as being a system of government that does not interfere in religious affairs, in practice, it is reduced to forcibly reforming people out of their religion. In some instances, especially where monotheistic cults are dominant, the consequences could be good. But for a polytheistic society such as India, the results are terrible.

The Perils of Secularism

Something that has become obvious in recent times is the fact that Secularism destroys the immunity of native populations to resist radical alien ideologies that threaten to destroy their native cultures. It could also be said with a fair degree of certainty that Secularism and Liberalism go hand in hand and to speak of one is to speak of the other. The combination of these two radical ideologies could only spell the doom of nations.

In Europe, we see this playing out to perfection. Little children were sacrificed at the altar of liberalism. They were raped and pushed into prostitution by Muslim grooming gangs and the entire political establishment conspired to hush up the entire matter in order to maintain the ethos of liberalism. The migrant crisis in the European Union, that has made the countries much less safe than they were before, was an inevitable consequence of the long march of liberalism.

In the USA, the rabid Left that seeks to transform little children into transgenders with medical procedures is only another step along the path of progressivism. Drag Kids are a thing now in the United States and mainstream politicians are effectively arguing for the abolition of national borders. There are numerous other fundamental matters that have gone awry in both, the USA and the European that are too vast to be discussed here, but it can be safely said that the secular-liberal memeplex paved the way for the monstrosities we witness in both these societies today.

For India, it has several ramifications. Secularism is essentially a monotheist meme that was crucial for maintaining some sort of civility in monotheistic societies. It was a compromise between various factions of such societies that entailed keeping religion out of government so that no one particular sect gets to dominate the levers of power. At its core, secularism decrees that religion is a private affair and public administration should not be involved in such matters.

Read: State vs Hindus – how Indian politics has destroyed the notion of ‘secularism’

However, polytheistic societies are fundamentally different from monotheistic societies. Our Constituent Assembly realized that Indian society was greatly at odds with western societies where Secularism had flourished and thus, had to leave that word out of the Constitution. It was later inserted in the Indian Constitution by Indira Gandhi during the Emergency, at a time when democratic rights of the citizenry were suspended.

It can be legitimately argued that the greatest threat that Hinduism faces today is the lack of state support for its sustenance. Hinduism has over a billion followers across the world, the overwhelming majority of which lives in India. However, there’s not a single country that we could call our own. Radical Islam is on the rise today because it has state support from numerous oil-rich countries who use their money to fund Radical Islamic ideologues abroad. Hindus do not have that kind of infrastructure at their disposal to ward off such threats. Private enterprise by Hindus could not hope to compete with Radical Islam that has the backing of numerous countries and Christianity that is funded by the Vatican and the states of numerous countries.

Secularism in India has essentially destroyed the immunity of Indian society to ward off such threats. Most significantly, it has perverted the Indian State to such an extent that it acts against the faith of its majority community. Electoral outcomes don’t appear to affect such inclinations of the Secular State and that’s because the system is rotten at its very core.

Secularism: An Organized Religion

With time, true to its monotheistic heritage, Secular-Liberalism has turned into a religion of its own. It’s an organized religion that has its own version of clergy, preachers, Satan and God. Thus, Hindu society currently is not just at war with Radical Islam and Christian missionaries but also with the Indian State itself that has adopted the religion of Secularism-Liberalism. The Secular state seeks to reform Hinduism, not because of environmental concerns or animal rights or anything of that sort, these are just excuses. It seeks to reform Hinduism because an organized religion with monotheistic heritage could not ever bring itself to tolerate a polytheistic faith.

The current political system is not working out very well for Hindus, although they have tasted some victories under the current ruling establishment. At the same time, however, Hindu traditions and customs have been under attack consistently from the Secular State and that cannot be ignored. Democracy claims to be the will of the people, and yet, Hindus did not vote for the banning of firecrackers or Pashubali in Temples, they did not vote for the Secular State to regulate the height of Dahi Handis or to desecrate the Sabarimala Temple. Yet, these decisions were forced down the throat of Hindu society against their will.

We have to ask the question here, does the government in a Secular-Liberal Democracy reflect the will of the people? Judging from the events that have transpired in India, it doesn’t appear to be the case. And judging from the West as well, it appears to be far from it. Americans do not want unlimited immigration, they did not vote for illegal wars in the Middle-East, they did not vote for manufacturing jobs to be shifted outside the country, they did not vote for the legalization of puberty blockers for little kids. Yet, these decisions were forced down their throat all the same. In Europe, it is hard to imagine that people voted for its political establishment to engage in a conspiracy to silence the outburst of Muslim grooming gangs. They had to cope with these decisions all the same.

The religion of Secular-Liberalism is not conducive to the health of a society, as is obvious from developments that are occurring around the world. It is a recipe for chaos and disorder and public anguish. People might argue that the fate that has befallen the West is not necessarily an indictment of Secular-Liberalism per se but of the failures of the political establishment itself. There’s merit in that argument on the face of it but the West has turned out precisely how one would expect Secular-Liberal Democracies to play out in societies on a theoretical basis.

Secularism: At War with the Natural Order

Individualism is at the core of Secular-Liberalism. It’s not hard to imagine that a system of governance that is based on the rights of individuals will find it extremely difficult to motivate the individual to perform his or her duties towards the collective. Secular-Liberalism, essentially, is at war with collective identities. It is at war with religion because it is the largest meaningful collective. Religious traditions are a demonstration of the collective identity of an individual and, as a consequence, they must either be ‘secularized’ or banned outright.

After undermining religion, attempts are made to undermine the next greatest collective as well: Nationalism. It is not surprising that Nationalism has become such a demonized word in the West today. Nationalism demands that individuals, on certain occasions, have to go out of their way to perform their duties towards the collective and engage in actions such as standing up for the National Anthem even when they don’t want to as a demonstration of loyalty and affirmation of the greatness of the collective good. Secular-Liberalism cannot tolerate that.

After Nationalism, Secular-Liberalism came for local communities which often tend to revolve around religion. Local communities were portrayed as an impediment towards the free expression of the individual and hence, they ought to be destroyed. It has succeeded in that to a certain extent in urban areas but the innate natural desire of humans to live in societies has ensured that Secular-Liberalism hasn’t achieved the success it thought it would.

After local communities, Secular-Liberalism came for the family. It has demonized the family and glorified rebellions of the individual against the institution. Yes, bad families do exist and sometimes, the greatest enemy that a person faces is his own family. However, it cannot be denied that a healthy family is the bedrock of civilization. Without healthy families, nations could not ever hope to prosper. It is important to remember that bad families are anomalies and the vast number of families help an individual lead proper lives.

A family is the smallest unit of civilization. Sustaining civilization isn’t possible without healthy families. But after decades of Secular-Liberalism, the West sees insanely high rates of divorces, broken families and people who loathe their previous generations. It is a recipe for high rates of crime and there’s a great degree of literature that points toward that. The destruction of the family is also a natural consequence of the breakdown of local communities.

After religion, nationalism, local communities and families, it was inevitable that Secular-Liberalism would come for the next collective, that is, gender. Secular-Liberalism has weaponized gender and has led to the ‘war of the sexes’ and gender been obfuscated beyond measure and if they had their way, gender would become a meaningless word.

Secularism: The Consequences

Essentially, Secular-Liberalism, true to its monotheistic heritage, is up at arms against the natural order of things. It is a testament to the strength of the natural order that despite a barrage of propaganda, religion, nationalism, local communities, families, and gender continue to exist like they always have. However, there have been massive consequences and they have been severe.

The rise of the ‘Trumpian Right’ and the Far-Left of the Bernie Sanders variety that we see in the West today, a similar version of which is being played out in India as well, is a consequence of the war that Secular-Liberalism has declared upon the natural order of things. The youth, predominantly, are attracted to such populist ideologies in the West because the existing order has failed them.

Secular-Liberalism has declared war upon Hindu festivals and traditions because they are an affirmation of the individual’s collective identity. The Secular State banned firecrackers because bursting them is so much fun and while having fun, people also reaffirm their collective identity as Hindus. The Secular State banned the traditions of Sabarimala because men were willing to endure numerous austerities during the pilgrimage and push themselves through the limits of endurance to reaffirm their collective identity as Hindus, as devotees of Swami Ayyappa. Secular-Liberalism cannot tolerate such celebration of collective identities and therefore, they had to be banned.

It also needs to be understood that a nation can strive for greatness only when it is strongly rooted in religion. A nation cannot aspire for greatness while its culture is in a state of disarray. Japan overcame its defeat in the second world war and the devastation it wreaked on the back of a society rooted strongly on Shinto ideals. China is not religious it could be argued but its economic miracle was based on a system of governance based on collective identity as well.

The reason why frivolous PILs from NGOs are allowed to stall important developmental projects is that the ideological beliefs of these NGOs are perfectly in sync with the ideological worldview of the Judiciary. There’s a reason why PILs filed by Hindus aren’t anywhere near as effective as the ones filed by the likes of Prashant Bhushan. The Judiciary is filled by the co-religionists of Bhushan and co-religionists, as we know, tend to treat each other very differently from how they treat followers of other religions.

Can the Rigged System be Fixed?

At the heart of the matter is the fact that under Secular-Liberalism, the State has been hijacked to work against the welfare of its very citizenry. The State has been perverted to undermine the nationalism, religion, local communities and the institution of the family of the population it rules over. In India, they haven’t been very successful yet, but that’s not due to a lack of effort. It is more due to the fact that the social values of India are so strong that the population has been able to resist the continuous onslaught of the Secular State with a relative degree of success.

It’s not to say that Indian society has been able to resist it completely. But compared to the West, India has put up a much greater resistance and it continues to resist with tooth and nail the perversion that is unleashed by Secular-Liberalism. It’s important to under that under Secular-Liberalism, the state directs all its energies towards undermining the interests of its own citizenry. More than being just directionless, it exhausts its effort towards social engineering designed to radically reform the existing culture and prevailing social mores to conform to the will of a deracinated elite.

Is a reset of the system that exists enough or even possible? We cannot say if a reset or restoration is possible because the party that won the General Elections on the basis of Hindu consolidation was only overeager to enforce the ban on firecrackers and even advocated for it. Furthermore, a reset under current circumstances would imply that few decades down the line, maybe two, maybe three, the Secular State may again ban Hindu traditions and customs that have been practised by our people for centuries. In addition to all of this, a reset may require the same amount of collective effort as outright restoration. Therefore, if both options require similar energies, a restoration is indeed more preferable.

But we are dealing with hypotheticals here, we cannot even say for certain if Hindu society has the willingness to demonstrate the strength necessary, which it undoubtedly possesses in sufficient measure, to effect either a reset of a restoration. However, we should not ignore the significance of what happened during Diwali or at Sabarimala following the Court verdicts. Hindus came out in open rebellion against the Secular State and prevented the desecration of the Sabarimala and burst crackers to their heart’s content. In the times we live in, these are indeed signs to be optimistic about.
