In yet another case of Love Jihad, a Muslim man by the name of Sheikh Sultan shot his girlfriend dead after his fake Hindu identity was exposed, which led to a cancellation of their wedding, India Today has reported. Sultan is believed to be resident of Konnagar in West Bengal’s Howrah district, and the girl too lived nearby in Uttarpara.
As per the report the deceased girl named Subhologna Chakraborty was in a relationship with Sultan, who had kept his religious identity hidden, to pose as a Hindu. Things were at an advanced stage and the 35 year old Subhologna was all set to have a court marriage with Sultan.
But then the marriage was called off after the parents came to known of Sultan’s real identity. This, as per a Eisamay report, angered Sultan to such an extent that he barged into Subhologna’s house at around 8 PM on Thursday, and shot her dead from a point blank range.
The parents Tushar Chakroborty and Shubhra Chakroborty rushed to try and save their daughter but were attacked by Sultan using iron rods. They were gravely injured. Soon the neighbours rushed in and admitted the trio to the Uttarpara State General hospital. Subhologna was declared dead but her parents are undergoing treatment.
Following the attack, Sultan tried to flee the spot but was later arrested by the police. The Eisamay report has quoted the Uttarpara police station’s investigative official as claiming that Sultan has admitted to the murder.
Incidentally such a matter of love jihad comes just on the heels of another similar case of love jihad.
It was reported just at the end of last month how a Muslim man had sexually exploited a girl while pretending to be a Hindu and when she insisted on marriage, he asked her to convert and eat beef.
