Amidst allegations of sexual misconduct, AIB co-founders Tanmay and Khamba asked to step away

Amidst allegations of sexual misconduct levelled against comedians associated with All India Backchod as well as co-founders Tanmay Bhat and Gursimran Khamba, the comedy platform has asked the duo to step away till further investigation. Earlier today, a girl had anonymously accused Khamba of forcing himself on her.

While they were in a casual relationship earlier, according to the girl, he tried to force himself to make out with her. She also accused him of threatening her and being emotionally abusive towards her.

Another girl accused Tanmay Bhat of sending her inappropriate messages. Earlier, Tanmay Bhat had agreed that he knew about another comedian, Utsav Chakraborty’s sexual transgressions and harassment of women but didn’t do much.

Amidst all this, All India Bakchod has released a statement where they say that in light of these events, both Bhat and Khamba, have been asked to step away and not be part of day to day functioning of AIB till further notice.

Khamba meanwhile also issued a personal statement on Facebook denying the incident having taken place in October and December.
