Patna: One Mohammad Danish arrested after he abducted minor student, family alleges forced conversion to Islam

Mohammad Danish and his family members had locked their house and fled after he abducted the 15-year-old non-Muslim girl student. The girl's family had alleged attempts of forced conversion and marriage.

Mohammad Danish, a maths teacher in Bihar’s Danapur area, who had abducted his 15-year-old student and has been absconding for over 2 months, has been arrested near Patna on Monday. As per reports, Danish is accused of trying to forcefully convert the minor girl student who is a non-Muslim.

As per reports, the minor girl’s family had approached the Khagaul police on September alleging that the tuition teacher Danish had abducted their daughter. The family had alleged that Danish may have plans to rape and forcefully convert the girl and marry her.

Danish had taken the girl and was missing from a coaching centre in Khagaul’s Moti Chowk.

After the police complaint, Danish’ family had fled the area locking their house. The Khagaul police were unable to trace the teacher or the minor girl. Later, Danish’s parents were detained and were interrogated over their son’s whereabouts.

After Danish’ arrest, the police have stated that Danish was hiding in Danapur area. He had allegedly taken the girl to Kolkata and spent over two months there in different places.

Both the victim and the accused Danish were presented in court by the police on Monday. The police have stated that they are yet to ascertain whether the girl was abused or forced by Danish to change her religion and the investigation is still open.

As per reports, Mohamad Danish has denied the allegations of rape or forceful conversion. However, he has admitted to the police that he had taken the girl with him and they had spent the last 2 months in Kolkata. Danish’ family members have been arrested for involvement in the case too.
