Kamal Nath’s letter to Rahul Gandhi reveals the ‘United Oppositions’ petty caste politics

Congress leader Kamal Nath’s sordid letter, accessed by Republic, reveals how petty and deep the caste politics runs in the ‘United Opposition’. According to reports, Nath has written a letter to Congress President Rahul Gandhi to attend an event to mark the death anniversary of a prominent OBC leader to score political brownie points.

Kamal Nath, in a letter written on his official MP letterhead, invites Congress President to use the death anniversary of Subhash Yadav, an MLA from Kasrawad in Madhya Pradesh, which goes to polls in few months’ time, as a platform to address the gathering of people who would come to pay their respect to him for campaign ‘Samvidhan Bachao – Desh Bachao’. He further states that this will be an important function in Nimad-Malwa region which consists of 61 Assembly segments in Madhya Pradesh Assembly.

Rahul Gandhi is to address a rally on 6th June at Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur where farmers are agitating currently to mark one year of violent protests which took place last year.
