Bollywood actress Richa Chadha is on the dock after sharing a poster from her new film ‘Madam Chief Minister’ loosely based on the life of BSP supremo Mayawati. The movie is set to release on the 22nd of January. The movie is a “political drama about an ‘untouchable’ who hustles and makes it big in life!”

Contrary to expectations of the filmmaker, perhaps, the poster is facing intense criticism for the manner in which Mayawati has been portrayed. She is shown holding a broom which, as people on social media have pointed, was perceived to be a derogatory manner of depicting a Dalit leader.

Some have commented that people such as Richa Chadha and Swara Bhasker are ‘more dangerous’ than ‘Sanghis’.

The movie poster was also accused of being ‘casteist’.

Others have commented that ‘UCs’ (so called Upper Castes) cannot be expected to make accurate movies about ‘struggles of Dalits’. They also called for more Dalit representation in Bollywood.

Madam Chief Minister has been directed by Subhash Kapoor and features Richa Chadha in the lead role. The movie was officially announced in February 2020 and is set to hit the theatres in January 2021. Despite the criticism on social media, other members of the Bollywood fraternity such as Tapsee Pannu have hailed the work. The movie also stars Akshay Oberoi and Shubhrajyoti.

NDTV anchor Sreenivasan Jain does not appear to have spent any time on self-reflection even after the repeated humiliation he has had to endure for his biased journalism. Now, he appears to have conjured a scenario in his head where pelting stones at Ram Mandir donation yatras is a fundamental right. This is not a joke.

Sreenivasan Jain, bewilderingly, claims that “Ram Mandir donation yatras spark communal tension”. People at such rallies have stones pelted at them and according to the NDTV anchor, it is their fault. The right to profess one’s religion is a constitutionally guaranteed right but not if you are a Hindu, according to Sreenivasan Jain here.

Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday announced that a new law will be implemented against stone-pelting in the state. The statement was made following incidents of stone-pelting on Hindu religious processions in Muslim-dominated areas of Indore, Ujjain and Mandasur.

One is likely to assume that a strict law to curb the menace of stone-pelting is a good step towards solving the problem. But not according to the NDTV anchor here. He appears to believe it is Hindus who are to be blamed for having stones hurled at them and the Hindu religious processions should be punished instead.

That’s not the only lie that Jain peddled in his tweets. Munawar Faruqui and other ‘comedians’ were not arrested for mocking Union Home Minister Amit Shah. They were arrested for insulting Hindu Gods which is a punishable offence as per law. Again, it appears, the NDTV propagandist does not want laws to apply when Hindu sentiments are insulted.

The third lie in two tweets is that state governments have passed laws to criminalize inter-faith marriages. That is simply not true. Certain Governments have only implemented laws that punish forceful conversion through fraudulent means or through marriage. Surely, Sreenivasan does not believe it is permissible to force women to convert their religion? One can never be sure.

Sreenivasan Jain had suffered an embarrassment after getting into an argument with investor and businessman Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. He accused Jhunjhunwala of being biased in favour of Narendra Modi to which the bussinessman responded, “I am a fan of Mr. Modi – This is a well-known fact. As an Indian, I have a right to my political choices… But, I find you prejudiced. I find NDTV prejudiced against the government.” “Well, I am a political animal. The press is not a political animal. You are supposed to be unprejudiced,” he added.

Then, he attempted to solicit negative comments against the Modi government from HDFC Chairman Deepak Parekh. Instead of having his wish fulfilled, he got told to his face that all the discussion about curbing dissent and intolerance was exaggerated and the government was willing to discuss matters.

Woman who filed a rape complaint against NCP youth president Mehboob Shaikh goes missing: Reports

A young woman who had lodged a rape complaint against NCP youth president Mehboob Shaikh in Aurangabad last week has gone missing. As per sources quoted by TV9 Marathi, the woman is untraceable and cannot be reached. The police administration has launched a search operation to track the woman.

Curiously, the woman had gone missing just days after she had filed a complaint against the NCP office bearer, accusing him of raping her. The complaint was filed at CIDCO police station in Aurangabad by the victim against Mehboob Ibrahim Sheikh. The woman who was a student in Aurangabad was allegedly raped on the pretext of providing her with a job.

In her complaint, the young woman alleged that Shaikh had called her to a flat on November 10 to meet her and four days later, on November 14, she was again asked to meet him at a secluded place at around 9 PM where she was allegedly raped. Shaikh was booked for rape based on the complaint of a woman in Aurangabad, last week.

NCP leader Mehboob Shaikh refutes allegations of rape

However, Shaikh has rubbished the allegations, claiming they were unfounded and baseless. “It is a political conspiracy to malign me and my political party. After the case was registered, the police had interrogated me for over seven hours. They have also launched a forensic investigation of my mobile phone to ascertain my location on the days mentioned by the woman. They have also questioned all those who I have met on the day she claimed the rape was committed,” Shaikh said.

Defending himself, Shaikh said that while the woman alleged that she met him at his flat on November 10, but on that day he was in Mumbai to attend a programme at a party office. He also added that the details of the programme have been uploaded on the party’s official Facebook page. He further added that on November 14 he was in his village Shirur Kasar in Beed to attend a Laxmi Puja event.

The NCP leader said he was ready to undergo a narcoanalysis test and face the consequences if found guilty. However, he added that if he is not found guilty, a narco test of the woman should also be conducted to determine who all are behind the conspiracy.

BJP demands arrest of NCP leader; alleges police is shielding him

Notwithstanding Shaikh’s offered alibi, the BJP has launched a blistering attack against the NCP leader and demanded his arrest. The saffron party has alleged that the police are insensitive to the sufferings of the citizens and are not taking action against the political leader who was booked on rape charges in Aurangabad.

“The state president of the NCP youth wing is being protected by those in the ruling party, hence the police are afraid of arresting the rape accused. Mehboob Shaikh should be immediately arrested and DCP (deputy commissioner of police) Deepak Girhe should be dismissed from the service for dereliction of duty,” said Chitra Wagh, state BJP vice-president, on Monday.

After insulting army personnel, Ekta Kapoor’s ALTBalaji joins hands with controversial TikToker Mr Faisu for upcoming action series

Faisal Shaikh alias Mr Faisu, a TikTok celebrity whose account was suspended after he was seen in a video inciting hatred in the name of Tabrez Ansari and propagating revenge over his death, is all set to make his acting debut with Ekta Kapoor’s ALTBalaji and ZEE5’s action series Bang Baang – The Sound of Crimes.

Besides controversial TikToker Mr Faisu, the series is also going to feature actor Ruhi Singh in the lead role. The teaser of the series is expected to drop on January 5.

The official social media accounts of OTT platform ALTBalaji have recently shared posters of Mr Faisu and Ruhi Singh for their forthcoming action thriller Bang Baang.

The two could be seen riding bikes while helicopters are chasing them. Mr Faisu could be seen dodging bullets while Ruhi is seen aiming at someone with her gun.

Mr Faisu propagated revenge over the death of Tabrez Ansari

By offering Mr Faisu a role in their upcoming web series, Ekta Kapoor and ALTBalaji are normalising the hatred that has come to be associated with the controversial TikToker following a video on Tabrez Ansari where he was seen encouraging and inciting hatred. In a video that had sent ripples across the country, Faisu was seen with four other ‘influencer’ friends of his saying, “you may have killed that innocent Tabrez Ansari, but tomorrow if his son takes revenge, do not say that all Muslims are terrorists.”

BJP member Ramesh Solanki had filed a complaint against TikTok group named ‘Team 07’ consisting – Faisal Shaikh, Hasnain Khan, Faiz Baloch, Adnan Shaikh and Sadhan Faroqui, who have a combined followers strength of over four crore people, for promoting revenge over Tabrez Ansari’s death. Solanki was earlier with Shiv Sena, but he parted ways after erstwhile saffron party joined hands with Congress and NCP to form government in Maharashtra.

The videos went viral after they were shared on social media. As soon as it became viral, Solanki registered a complaint, stating that the video talks about how “the public at large may have killed Tabrez, but if tomorrow, his progeny exercises revenge then he mustn’t be a called a ‘Muslim Terrorist’.

ALTBalaji and Ekta Kapoor accused of disrespecting the Indian Army

It is also pertinent to note that ALTBalaji is known for courting controversies over the content aired on its platform. ALTBalaji and its owner Ekta Kapoor had sometime back found themselves in hot water over objectionable sex scenes and allegations of disrespecting the Indian Army in her erotic web series XXX 2.

Several people had taken offence over the now-deleted scene in which an army officer’s wife allegedly insults his uniform by making her boyfriend wear it in his absence, and then later, tearing off the uniform, she gets into bed and makes love with him. The scene had outraged many on social media, including controversial YouTuber Hindustani Bhau, who spearheaded the objection to the scene and filed a complaint against Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor.

Following the social media backlash and police complaints filed against Ekta and her mother, the scene was eventually removed from the web series.

In a startling development, popular Twitter user and Pakistani rights activist, Rahat Austin, informed on Tuesday that he was stabbed with a knife. While taking to Twitter, he wrote, “I am attacked by a Jihadi, having a Knife. I don’t know maybe from the middle east or somewhere.” Rahat said that he was injured and admitted to the hospital.

In a video message shared with Opindia, Rahat Austin recounted, “Just moments ago, I was attacked by an Islamist jihadi. He had a knife and just by the way he said ‘Allahu Akbar’, I assume he is from a middle eastern country… Why do these people keep doing such things everywhere in the world? We are not doing anything wrong.”

He added, “I am just reporting cases of (severe) persecution, apartheid, genocide and ethnic cleansing…done by the government and people in Muslim-majority countries as a religious obligation. (They are) Doing it as part of religious obligation under ‘jihad’. We were 23% when Pakistan was made 70 years ago in 1947 and we are now 3% left.”

With a bruised faced caused due to the jihadi attack, Rahat Austin said, “It is a systematic genocide.” The rights activist concluded that the controlled media and government policies ensure that such cases never come to anyone’s notice and that now efforts were being made to stall his efforts to even report such crimes. “These are crazy people. I got attacked. If I didn’t myself, then, he would have beheaded me as they do with others. These are crazy people.”

In a shocking incident in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, a woman has been accused of sexually exploiting her own minor son. According to reports, the woman subjected her 14-years old son to sexual abuse

Father alleged that she had been sexually abusing their son for quite some time

The matter came to light when the father of the child filed a complaint at Kadakkvoor police station against his wife. He alleged that his wife had been sexually abusing their child for a long time. The mother has been looking after the child since he was 10. Taking cognisance of the father’s complaint, the police forwarded his complaint to the Child Welfare Commission. The child was counselled by Childline workers and his statement was reported. He repeated the same things to the childline workers that he had told his father.

The Commission found out that the child’s mother had sexually exploited him. Police reportedly informed yesterday that the woman has been arrested under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

After being arrested, the 35-year old woman was produced before a court. The court sent her to judicial custody. She is now lodged in a woman’s prison in Thiruvananthapuram.

This is said to be the first such incident in the state.

The Supreme Court of India has cleared the redevelopment of Central Vista area of Lutyen’s Delhi on January 5, 2021. Justice Khanwilkar pronounced the judgment by majority. The Court said the exercise of the power under the DDA act is just and valid. The recommendations of environmental clearance by the Ministry of Environment are just valid and proper. We uphold the same.”

Use smog guns and construct smog towers: Ordered Court

The Court has asked the government to ensure the use of smog guns during the construction of the project and install smog towers after the completion of the project in the area. The order has been given to ensure pollution control in the area.

Environmental clearance upheld

Justice Khanwilkar further said that the selection and appointment of the environmental consultant in the case was just and proper. The Court upheld the clearance from the Ministry of Environment for the project and gave a green signal to move ahead with the construction. Justice Khanwilkar further confirmed the modification regarding the change in land use of plot 228 of the master plan of Delhi and zonal development plan for zones C& D.

Justice Sanjiv Khanna said that he had a different opinion on the grant of land use, as there was no prior approval of the heritage conservation committee and thus matter remitted back for a public hearing. However, he agreed on the issue of the award of the project.

The liberal meltdown

Though the project is essential as in upcoming delimitation exercise, the number of Lok Sabha members is expected to rise to 800 from current 543, it was getting delayed even though the speaker had approved it in 2012. Since the project was announced, several sections of the so-called ‘liberal’ bubble were questioning the government’s intentions making it look like the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to ‘rewrite the history’.

After the Court gave a green signal on January 5, the liberal world had a massive meltdown. Congress loyal Srivatsa said that the Apex Court has upheld the project to ‘please PM Modi’.

Amidst growing concerns of cross-border infiltration to India from Bangladesh, the Assam police have recently discovered an illegally constructed tunnel in the Karimganj district of the State.

North East Live reported that the police unearthed the tunnel ‘accidentally’ while conducting an investigation in a recent kidnapping case. The said tunnel is located next to the barbed fence erected by BSF, adjoining a ditch, that separates the Indian territory from that of Bangladesh. Reportedly, the tunnel is frequently used by infiltrators and smugglers from Bangladesh to bypass the international border and make their way to India.

The police discovered the tunnel while probing a kidnapping case involving two cattle smugglers. They were allegedly kidnapped and taken to the Bangladeshi side but later miraculously returned back to Karimganj in Assam. This raised the suspicion of the law enforcement, who then interrogated the duo. On interrogation, the cattle smugglers took the police to the location where the tunnel is located. They have now been detained by the Karimganj police.

Reportedly, the tunnel has been used by infiltrators, smugglers and anti-social elements for a long time. This has now raised questions of security lapses at the border, which is guarded by the Border Security Force (BSF). Karimganj SP, Mayank Kumar, said, “This is a matter of investigation… Yes, there are some areas where this is a problem. We have conveyed the same to the BSF and this is a part of a joint and ongoing probe.”

21 illegal immigrants deported to Bangladesh from Assam

India has been taking stringent measures to identify and deport illegal immigrants in the country. Thousands of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants have been staying in Assam and the main purpose of the National Registry for Citizenship (NRC) that was implemented in the state was to identify illegal immigrants who have been threatening the demography of the eastern state.

In January 2019, about 21 Bangladeshi citizens who have been living illegally in Assam have been deported back to their country by the Indian authorities. They had entered India through the Tripura border and had been staying in Assam since then. After their identities were revealed, they were detained under the passport violation act and kept at the detention centre associated with the Cachar Jail in Silchar. After receiving approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Bangladeshis were reportedly taken by a special bus to the Sutarkandi Integrated check post along the India- Bangladesh border in the Karimganj district in Assam.

Communal tensions flared up in Mandi Dhanaura, Uttar Pradesh over the renovation of Chamunda temple. According to a report in Jagran, local Hindus were carrying out the renovation work of a Chamunda temple located in Chuchaila Kalan village. But some members from the other community opposed the renovation work which created communal tension in the area.

On receiving information about the situation, police reached the spot and halted the renovation work. Some Hindu organisations protested against this. As per the Jagran report, SDM Vivek Yadav and the CO Satendra Kumar reached the spot and took stock of the situation. The officials tried to solve the issue through dialogue but no settlement could be reached.

The other community raised objection over renovation of the temple

The locals were setting up a fencing around the temple to prevent stray animals from polluting the temple premise. Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal members present at the scene told that the Chamunda temple is very old. The fencing would also provide safety to the temple. However, this did no go down well with the other community who vehemently opposed the renovation work. SDM Vivek Yadav told that the other community had raised objections over the renovation work being carried out in the temple. Therefore, the renovation work was halted to maintain communal harmony. Representatives from both the parties were called in at Tehsil Headquarters for settlement.

No additional construction work to be carried out

The dispute was finally resolved after it was decided in the presence of government officials that no additional construction will be carried out in the temple. SDM Yadav confirmed that both the parties have agreed at setting up a railing and mounting a tin shade over it to ensure the safety of the temple.

On Monday, the convoy of BJP National general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, national vice-president Mukul Roy and Brrackpore MP Arjun Singh was attacked during a roadshow in Watganj area of Kolkata in West Bengal.

The incident took place during a roadshow that was scheduled from Orphanganj Road to the BJP headquarters in Kolkata. However, when the procession crossed the Watganj area, their convoy came under a volley of stones and shoes, hurled by TMC workers from an adjoining stage. Reportedly, the roadshow had to be cut short as the police had earlier denied permission for the same. The cops tried to pacify the miffed party workers from both sides and brought the situation under control.

BJP Chief (West Bengal) had earlier said that the saffron party would take out the procession, irrespective of police permission as the cops have a history of withholding permissions to BJP. Nevertheless, BJP leaders met at newly-inducted Shovan Chatterjee’s residence on Sunday and decided to go ahead with the roadshow.

Kailash Vijayvargiya, who sustained minor injuries during the attack, stated that the roadshow was conducted peacefully till Hastings as they were not granted permission to hold the procession from Alipore to Central Kolkata. “However, some TMC workers hurled shoes and stones at us. Our workers showed restraint as we do not want to respond to provocations. We will not respond to violence with violence. We will respond through votes,” he added.

Convoy of JP Nadda, Kailash Vijayvargiya attacked by TMC goons

Last month, JP Nadda and Kailash Vijayvargiya’s convoy was attacked when the senior leaders were headed towards Diamond Harbour to meet party cadres. Videos had surfaced where protestors carrying Trinamool Congress flags were seen throwing stones and bricks at Kailash Vijayvargiya’s car, while the state police stood like mute spectators.

Sharing the same video which showed cracked windshields and pieces of bricks hurled at the car he was travelling in, Vijayvargiya called the attack an abject failure of the WB police working at the behest of Mamata Banerjee government. Speaking at a public rally, BJP President JP Nadda had condemned the attacks. He said that they were only saved because they had bullet-proof vehicles. He added that there was no administration or law and order in Bengal.
