Mother Teresa, Church leaders knew about crimes of Jesuit who abused victim more than 1000 times and yet, defended him: Victim

0

Mother Teresa has been suspected for a long time of being a fraud. Her chequered past, hobnobbing with dictators and criminals, and the terrible facilities at the shelter homes she ran have left a bitter taste in the mouths of people who had earlier been fond of her. However, as it turns out, such sins, as bad as they were, come nowhere close to the latest allegations that have surfaced against her. A victim of an infamous Jesuit preacher, Rev. Donald J. McGuire, has now claimed that Mother Teresa knew about his sex crimes and yet, turned a blind eye to it.

Robert J. Goldberg, now 61, has claimed in a lawsuit that Rev. Donald J. McGuire, a Jesuit with close ties to Teresa, abused Goldberg “more than 1,000 times, in multiple states and countries,” Associated Press has reported. The sexual abuse, that occurred almost on a daily basis, included “sexual touching, oral copulation and anal penetration.” Goldberg’s attorneys claim that the abuse occurred over a period of time when powerful Church leaders, including ‘Saint’ Mother Teresa knew that McGuire was sexually abusing children. The lawsuit alleges that the Church went to great lengths to cover it up.

Goldberg, who was being raised by a single Catholic mother after the death of his father, was in need of money. Thus, his family came to rely on the 300$-500$ that McGuire paid him to work as his assistant. The sexual predator used Goldberg’s dependency to continue to abuse him and exploit him sexually.

McGuire eventually went on to become Teresa’s ‘Spiritual Adviser’ while vetting nuns seeking to join the Missionaries of Charity. McGuire had a history of sexually abusing children. One official in Austria wrote in the 1960s that McGuire had “much relations with young boys, particularly some boys who work in our kitchen and who used to go to his room.”

The AP report says, “Each time the Jesuits received complaints that McGuire was sexually abusing boys, they would move him to another post, where he would continue his predatory behaviour. Even after a psychiatric evaluation showed McGuire was sexually attracted to underage boys, the Jesuits continued to insist he was a priest in good standing, in part due to the urging of Mother Teresa.”

Teresa wrote in a letter dated February 2, 1994, “I have confidence and trust in Fr. McGuire and wish to see his vital ministry resume as soon as possible.” The ‘saint’ got her wish, and McGuire continued his world-wide ministry, “openly travelling with young boys as his companions,” according to Goldberg’s lawsuit. In June 2003, the first of several lawsuits against McGuire and his superiors were filed which eventually led to a trial. During the trial, nuns from Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity wore buttons that said: “I support Fr. McGuire.”

The organized sexual abuse within Christian religious orders has become a known fact since then. Worse is the fact that there was a cover-up of the entire series of crimes right from the very top. It brings into question whether the entire clerical hierarchy of Christianity has been compromised. It is common knowledge now that the Church officials have actively participated and covered up heinous crimes of sexual abuse within their ranks. Mcguire was not removed from service until 2007 and was defrocked in 2008. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the crimes he committed.

Karnataka: Mangaluru Police arrests one Moindeen Hameez for spreading communal hatred on social media, four booked

Mangaluru Cyber Crime Police has arrested one Moindeen Hameez for allegedly spreading communal hatred through inciting messages.

Moindeen Hameez’s Instagram post (image: @likhitraaai on Twitter)

In his Instagram post, Hameez had called for revenge against Mangaluru Police and had said that neither the police nor police station will stay for long.

Four people have been booked by Mangaluru Police for putting up posts on social media to incite communal hatred. In two cases, the police has booked the accused for sedition as well. Seven criminal cases have been registered against holders of Facebook accounts who had posted inflammatory messages. Cases have also been registered against Facebook pages of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Ansar Mangaluru, Nizam Farangipete, Sahil Vedra, Idunamma Dhvani, Muslim Yuva Sene and Siddique and notices under section 41A of CrPC have been issued against them. They are supposed to appear at the Cyber Crime Police Station on 2nd and 3rd January, 2020.

According to a report by The News Minute, one Mohammad Irfan was booked for allegedly creating an image with inflammatory text on it. “We tried implementing Ambedkar’s pen but the Sangh did not give in. Now, we will hold up Tipu’s sword,” the police officer attached to the case told TNM.

As per the report, in a Facebook group called Idu Namma Dhvani, messages which read, “We cannot tolerate this any longer. It is not a crime it seems to fire bullets at people and resort to lathi charge. Before the sanghi police take more lives, chase them and assault them’ and ‘They are sanghis without uniforms who hold lathis and have blended in to look like the police. If you see such sanghis come with the police, pelt stones at them’. These kinds of messages are inflammatory’ were circulated.

Mangaluru Police has also urged the youth to desist from posting communal posts.

Following the passage of Citizenship Amendment Act, violent protests erupted across the country. Several CCTV videos have now emerged that conclusively bust the myth peddled by Islamists and the anti-Indian establishment that the anti-CAA protests were peaceful and spontaneous in nature.

More videos of CCTV footage have emerged from Mangaluru which exposes Islamists, in which it can be clearly seen that the riots were pre-planned meticulously by these mobs. These plans even included arranging of stones by Muslim mobs to target the common man and police officials.

1. NDTV suspends Deputy News Editor for celebrating Pulwama terror attack, may take further action

Nidhi Sethi, Deputy News Editor of NDTV, had posted a comment on Facebook which seemed to glorify the terror attack by Jaish-e-Muhammad. She had written, “where a grisly 44 has been proven to be greater than the mythical 56”. With this, she had added a hashtag #HowstheJaish, a take on the famous dialogue ‘How’s the Josh’ from the recent movie Uri: The Surgical Strike.

NDTV had announced on its official Twitter handle that the news organisation strongly condemned the comments made by the Editor. She was suspended for 2 weeks. This news report became the most read report of 2018 on OpIndia.com.

2. Here is what may have triggered Rajdeep Sardesai’s own colleague slamming him for being a pliant journalist

After the 2019 interview that Prime Minister Modi gave to Aaj Tak, Anjana Om Kashyap took to Twitter to sarcastically say that she knows of one journalist who conducts coaching for asking on-air questions. She said he is the same journalist who himself could not ask questions beyond ‘saas-bahu’ and he now goes around distributing certificates to other journalists. She also said that he was frustrated for having to wait outside the door and not being let in.

3. Filmmaker Daniel Shravan says rape victims should carry condoms and cooperate in rape to avoid their murder afterwards

Amidst the spate of gruesome rape and murder incidents being reported from across the country and the horror that followed the Hyderabad rape and murder, filmmaker Daniel Shravan had suggested a shocking measure to tackle the growing menace of sexual assault and murder.

Shravan had suggested that instead of calling for police help, women should carry condoms and save themselves from the fate of murder. He suggested that when women are assaulted by rapists, they should cooperate in the act and offer the rapist a condom so that they are not killed afterwards.

4. Here is why Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy were stopped at the airport and were not allowed to leave the country

NDTV founders Prannoy Roy and his wife, Radhika Roy, were prevented from leaving the country recently. In a statement published on its website, the channel had called it a ‘subversion of media freedom’. NDTV in a statement said that they had been stopped on the basis of a “fake and totally unsubstantiated corruption case” filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation about an ICICI Bank loan that their company, RRPR Holdings, had taken.

While NDTV cries hoarse about ‘freedom of the press’ being curbed, the allegations of financial impropriety against Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy, the promoters of NDTV are extremely grave. More importantly, judicial bodies and statutory investigation agencies have found them in violation of major laws and in some cases held them guilty of fraud, manipulation and use of “deceptive financial instruments” to hide real ownership of NDTV.

Our investigative report about the shenanigans that led to the ICICI loan scam and the details of the ICICI loan scam by NDTV became the 4th most-read article of 2019.

5. Sagarika Ghose calls the most decorated officer of the Territorial Army an ‘idiot’ because he respectfully disagreed with her assessment of ‘war’

Sagarika Ghose is not exactly known for her intellect. In the past year, Sagarika Ghose had once assumed that she knows far more than the man who trains with the Indian Army every year and has pledged to fight for his country when the need arises.

Sagarika Ghose had in July 2019, resorted to calling Major Navdeep Singh an ‘idiot’ while arguing about military matters and wars.

This report became our 5th most-read article of the year.

6. ‘Mea culpa’: Rajdeep Sardesai finally admits Modi wasn’t responsible for 2002 and that media sensationalised the riots

In an interview, Rajdeep Sardesai, the Michelangelo of Indian journalism, who made a career out of demonising Narendra Modi for Gujarat riots seems to have finally found some remorse for his relentless campaign against Prime Minister Modi for the unfortunate incidents that followed after the train burning at Godhra that left Hindus dead.

Surprisingly, after years of lies, Rajdeep Sardesai had in this interview admitted that he personally believed that Modi was not responsible for the 2002 riots that followed after the Godhra massacre.

2010-2019: Here are the best XI of this Decade for ODIs

0

Since the decade is about to over, let’s see who all can make it to the final XI of this decade for ODIs.

Rohit Sharma (7991 Runs, 27 Hundreds, 59 Catches) – The best opener of the decade. He made most runs and hundreds as an opener in this decade. With three double hundreds and the highest score of 264, he is the ultimate choice as the first opener of this XI. Rohit also has been quite a successful outing in World Cups. He smashed 5 World Cup Hundreds this year, the most by any batsman in a single World Cup edition.

Hashim Amla (7265 Runs, 26 Hundreds, 77 Catches) – He might have lost the touch in the last year of the decade but he remained the second-highest run-scorer as an opener of the decade with a high average of 49.74 and a strike rate of almost 90. He also scored 27 ODI hundreds in this particular decade, just third behind Kohli and Rohit. If Rohit gets out early, he can play the role of an anchor.

Virat Kohli (11036 Runs, 42 Hundreds, 115 Catches) – He can make it to any all-time World XI of ODIs, past, present, decade or century.  That’s how good he is. Had he not missed converting few hundreds this year, he would have topped the list of most hundreds in ODIs. Kohli is amazing in chases too.

AB de Villiers (6485 Runs, 21 Hundreds, 119 Catches) – He is the modern-day Viv Richards. The record holder of fastest ODI 50, 100 and 150. He can accelerate at any time and with his 360 shots, he can just frustrate any kind of bowler. His fielding is the bonus.

Shakib al Hasan (4276 Runs, 5 Hundreds, 177 Wickets, 34 Catches)- Bangladesh’s most successful cricketer of all time. He has shown his class in World Cup this year where he became the first player to score more than 600 runs and took 15 wickets in a single edition. The proper all-rounder will be a great asset as a spinner to this team.

Ben Stokes (2682 Runs, 3 Hundreds, 70 Wickets, 45 Catches) – The man who won the World Cup for England. Stokes’ influential knock in the World Cup final kept England in the hunt for the Title. He is the Freddie Flintoff of this decade. His bowling and fielding are a bonus.

MS Dhoni (5640 Runs, 4 Hundreds, 170 Catches, 72 Stumpings) – His captaincy and wicket-keeping can secure his spot in any World XI of this decade. Won a world cup and champions trophy as captain. His keeping behind the wickets especially against the spinners is lightning quick and he is still one of the smartest brains in cricket.

Rashid Khan (133 Wickets) – The best spinner of the decade in limited-overs cricket. He can spin like Warne and bowl fast like Kumble. He can also bat. Yes, down the order he won several matches for Afghanistan.

Mitchell Starc (172 Wickets) – Most wickets in two consecutive World Cups. The left-hander pacer is quite deadly with the new ball. and is a perfect choice for the ODI XI. Wickets per 25 balls – the best strike rate in ODIs of the decade.

Jasprit Bumrah (103 Wickets) – The Indian sensation is probably the greatest death over bowler in the history of limited-overs cricket. Every time you expect him to defend the total, he has, not only for India but also for his T20 team, Mumbai Indians. Inspired by Malinga, he is the perfect choice for a new ball attack.

Lasith Malinga (248 Wickets, 77 Catches) – The old deadly fox. His incoming slow yorkers still make the batsman look stupid. The most hat-tricks in International cricket and only bowler to take 4 in 4 balls twice in limited-overs, has the most number of wickets in the current decade. If you survive the opening spell of Starc and Bumrah, there is no respite as Malinga is ready with his toe crushing yorkers.

Nothing Defeats like Defeat: Liberals thought they were using Islamic extremism to retain power, they received a rude shock

Ancient Wisdom dictates that nothing succeeds like success. Quite obviously, the converse also holds true. Nothing defeats like defeat. In the aftermath of a defeat, people are prone to making mistakes that could trap them in a vicious cycle of defeat. A similar pattern is unfolding before our eyes following the spectacular failure of the Liberal Establishment’s anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (anti-CAA) campaign.

For the first time in a long time, we witnessed the public collaboration between opposition parties, the mainstream media, the Far-Left mafia in Universities and Muslim Extremists on the streets engaging in rampant mob violence. While the strength of the alliance came mainly from Muslim extremists, they were also the greatest liability for the other camps as the public demonstration of Islamic extremism only worked towards consolidating public opinion in favour of the government.

To be sure, it was a very volatile alliance from the very beginning. Unlike the Hindutva camp, which is united by shared blood, history, culture, traditions and heritage, it’s only opportunism that is holding the Liberal Establishment together. The Opposition parties tolerate Islamic Extremism as it fetches them votes. The mainstream media largely acts as the propaganda wing of the Opposition parties. It’s only the Far-Left Mafia in Universities that sympathize with Islamic Extremists as the former is stupid enough to believe that the latter has genuine grievances and both of them share the same hatred towards the Hindu Samaj. Moreover, in Urban areas, Muslim mobs provide the Leftist intelligentsia with the muscle power that it desires.

Read: Khilafat 2.0: How Useful Idiots in the media and political parties were fooled by Jamia students associated with the ‘blood brother’ of a banned Radical Islamic outfit

It was only the promise of a victory that was holding them all together. However, since the General Elections of 2019, it has been one defeat after another and the CAA was the last straw. The Liberal Establishment decided to mount one final push but it, too, did not achieve the desired results. Let us be clear here, the anti-CAA protests were a catastrophic defeat for the Liberal Establishment. Public opinion has definitively consolidated behind the government and the Establishment is recognizing this.

Thus, we are witnessing this alliance of opportunism fall apart right before our very eyes as every distinct group looks to preserve their own interests. It is quite unlike the Hindutva alliance where every subgroup realizes that it floats and sinks as a collective. Here, it is just an alliance of convenience. When confronted with a defeat, every subgroup of the Liberal Establishment looks to secure its own interests first. And that is how the carefully constructed alliance unravels.

The first instance of it was demonstrated when Aysha Renna, one of the faces of the Jamia protests and someone who has supported terrorist Yakub Memon in the past, was heckled by Communists after she spoke out against Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan. She was forced to issue a public apology over her remark against Vijayan.

Read: Kerala: Jamia ‘Shero’ Aysha Renna heckled by Communists, forced to apologize for comments against CM Pinarayi Vijayan

The second instance was when senior Congress leader Shashti Tharoor spoke out against the rampant display of Islamic Extremism in the anti-CAA protests and was thoroughly rebuked by the new leaders of the Muslim community. Tharoor had only remarked that the slogans of “There is no God but Allah” went against the ethos of pluralism and diversity they were trying to protect.

Shashi Tharoor’s comments was an act of self-preservation by the Congress party. The party realized that the overt display of Islamic Extremism could cost them a lot in future elections and hence, had to disassociate themselves from it. But the new Muslim leaders stepped in and these new leaders are now trying to assume the leadership of the Muslim community and ensure that the votes do not continue to flow in the account of the ‘secular’ parties anymore.

Read: La ilaha illallah: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor attacked by radical Muslims for cautioning against Islamist extremism

Shehla Rashid stepped in and claimed that the anti-CAA protests were a Muslim struggle and it was the liberals who were trying to hijack their movement. The message was clear, the new Muslim leader no longer wants to outsource the leadership of the community to the ‘secular’ parties. They now want to become the face of the community and their political representatives themselves.

The hardline stance by Shehla Rashid and other Muslims has forced Shashi Tharoor to backtrack from his earlier statement regarding Muslim extremism because at the end of the day, the ‘secular’ parties desperately need the Muslim votes to stay relevant. The Congress party is now stuck between a hard place and a rock. There is no good outcome for them out of this.

Meanwhile, Shehla Rashid’s stance doesn’t appear to be particularly smart as well considering the fact that Muslim identity politics will hugely consolidate support for the BJP and there’s no good thing that could possibly come of this. The slogans of “Ladhke lenge Azadi” and “Chheen ke lengey Azadi” ended up with one Muslim protester shitting his pants quite literally. As crude as it may sound, it’s the truth.

Read: Career protestor Shehla Rashid busts mainstream media propaganda, claims liberals are trying to hijack Muslim struggle against CAA

Furthermore, the demonstration of Muslim Extremism during the anti-CAA protests gave the BJP governments sufficient leeway to brutally put down the protests. In the end, the Maulanas were left begging for mercy and tons of others were left with severe injuries that would take a long time to heal. The major lesson to learn is this: Muslim identity politics will no longer work in India. The people of this country have decided it is not something that they will tolerate any longer. Therefore, any attempt at Muslim identity politics will only benefit the BJP and give them more leeway in dealing with any potential outburst of violence.

Worryingly enough, Shehla Rashid also appears to have delivered the final nail in the coffin for the Dalit-Muslim Unity Project. She is now advocating for the invasion of Muslims into benefits reserved for the Dalit community. She claims ‘Dalit Muslims’ should be granted the opportunity to receive benefits under reservations for the Dalit Community.

In reality, there is nothing called Dalit Muslims. As ‘Eminent Historians’ keep telling us, Caste is intrinsic to only the Hindu faith and the egalitarian nature of Islam is what forced many to convert in order to escape the oppressive caste system. Therefore, people cannot turn around now and claim that caste is a feature of the Muslim community too.

Read: 25 crimes that prove that the Dalit-Muslim unity is nothing but a farce

More fundamentally, Shehla Rashid’s demands mean that Dalits will now have to sacrifice their share of reservations and accommodate Muslims in order to achieve Dalit-Muslim Unity. The Dalit Community was already turning more and more towards Hindutva and this demand by Shehla Rashid, that Dalits sacrifice a portion of their reservations for Muslims, will further drive a wedge between the two communities.

All in all, the entire edifice of the Liberal Establishment is crumbling apart and every group is struggling to preserve their own interests at the expense of the other. Liberals thought they could milk Islamic Extremism for votes. The Islamic Extremists believe they could use Liberals to further their own extremist agenda. The Leftist intelligentsia was under the illusion that it could be used to usher in an era of revolution where unicorns farted rainbows. At the end of it all, however, the only one that gets to benefit from all of this is the BJP. Members of the ruling dispensation must be watching all the events unfold with popcorn in their hands.

Shaheen Bagh protests: Deep dive into how JNU ‘student’ and The Wire columnist Sharjeel Imam went from ‘let us burn Constitution’ to ‘saving it’

If you have been on Twitter you wouldn’t have missed how people are applauding the women at Shaheen Bagh who have taken over the bus stop and essentially blocked a highway protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act. There are tweets how women are showing a way by protesting in the middle of the night in Delhi’s coldest winters in decades.

The 20-day-old child and the mother are quite a rage, especially since they claim to be fighting to ‘save the constitution’.

These are widely circulated as ‘organic’ protests in a bid to ‘save the constitution’. Except, like every drama, there’s a twist here. For this, we will have to go back to a few weeks when the Ram Janmabhoomi verdict was out. A conversation in a WhatsApp group of JNU students right after the Ayodhya verdict gives a clearer picture of how the Shaheen Bagh ‘organic’ protests blocking the highway culminated.

Sharjeel expressing his desire to burn the constitution after the Ram Janmabhoomi verdict.

One Sharjeel is saying how he would like to burn the constitution as the 1500 page Ram Jamnabhoomi Supreme Court verdict is too much to burn. On November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of Ram Lalla and gave the land rights to the Hindus, paving way for construction of Ram Mandir where Babri Masjid was built after demolishing the temple. The Supreme Court also ruled that the government should give the Muslims a 5-acre land to build a mosque, should they so wish.

Some tried to reason with Sharjeel by putting out a disclaimer that they are not being ‘constitutionalist’, but burning it may attract legal consequences.

Sharjeel asking Muslims to come together and reject the constitution

Sharjeel then said how he’d like to have a ‘constitution burning ceremony’ in JNU. He explains how this verdict is a ‘watershed moment’ and that the Muslims who are ‘singing praises of the constitution’ must send a ‘clear message’ that ‘we do not believe in the constitution’. Hence, the same should be burnt, as per Sharjeel.

He said how a couple of dozen ‘Indian Muslims and non-Muslims’ should be enough.

Sharjeel would rather burn the constitution than the judgement.

When someone suggested that he could rather burn the judgement instead, Sharjeel reiterated how he’d prefer burning the constitution.

Who exactly is Sharjeel?

Sharjeel Imam is studying Modern History at JNU. He has studied Computer Science at IIT Bombay and has been a columnist with Leftist propaganda website The Wire, The Quint and even FirstPost.

In his free time, he likes to incite a mob to take to violence and block roads.

The above video was uploaded by Facebook group ‘Muslim Students of JNU’ on 14th December 2019. It was shot at Jamia Nagar, outside the Jamia Millia Islamia university. Imam is telling the mob that properties of Muslims were confiscated and they were sent to Pakistan.

At around 40 seconds after invoking the Quran and implying how it is above Constitution, he explains how he is a JNU students and along with a few Muslim students of JNU, want to do a ‘chakkajam’ (blocking roads and bringing life to a standstill) in Delhi. “Aur sirf Delhi mein hi nahin, jis sheher mein Musalman kar sakta hai. Musalman Hindustan ke 500 sheheron mein chakkajam kar sakta hai (not just in Delhi but in every city where Muslims are, there should be chakkajam. Muslims can bring life to a halt in as many as 500 cities in India),” he announces.

Kya Musalmanon mein itni haisiyat bhi nahin ki uttar Bharat ke shehron ko band kara jaa sake? (Don’t Muslims even have that much in them to shut down cities of north India?)”, he asks the crowd. He then asks Muslims, whose population is 20%, to be ashamed as how are the cities still functioning? “Hindustan ka Musalman shehri hai, sheher band kijiye. (Indian Muslims live in the city. Shut down the cities),” he says. He further asks the mob to shoo away those Muslims who try to put sense into them.

Invoking Quran, he says in Quran it is written that if someone throws you out of the house, then throw them out of the house. Imam then says that the constitution is fascist.

At around 5 minutes into the video, Sharjeel Imam says how people should not worry as this is Delhi and any police action will get international reaction. “Aag lagane ke liye do kaam karna hoga. Laathi khaane ke liye taiyar rehna hoga, aur number do, organise hoga hoga, (You’ll have to do two things to fan the fire: be ready to take the blows of the lathis and get organised)”

Sharjeel Imam tells the mob not to get swayed by those who invite them to Jantar Mantar to protest. “If they care, they should come to us. We will see who does,” he says. “Do not have hopes on AISA or Aam Aadmi Party,” he says. “We want to bring Delhi to a halt. We want to close down shops, stop milk supply in Delhi,” he says.

Sharjeel Imam has also been at the forefront of the ‘dharnas’ being held at Shaheen Bagh.

He takes quite pride in blocking the highway for 15th consecutive day. Shaheen Bagh bus stop, where these ‘protests’ are being held to ‘save the constitution’ is about 3 kms from Jamia Millia Islamia, where Sharjeel gave the inciting speech on 14th December.

He has been giving calls to block highways on Facebook.

Just to remind everyone, Sharjeel Imam is one of the members leading the ‘organic protests’ at Shaheen Bagh, to ‘save the constitution’ which he wanted to burn a month back after Ayodhya verdict.

But wait, there is more.

Imam’s hateful speech outside Jamia Millia Islamia asking everyone to do a ‘chakkajam’ in Delhi was put up on Facebook on 14th December 2019 late in the night. On 15th December 2019, Delhi Traffic Police put up an alert on Twitter that traffic movement was closed from Sarita Vihar to Kalindi Kunj due to protests at Shaheen Bagh.

These are on 15th December 2019, Sunday, around 2 PM. On 15th December is when the violence escalated in Jamia and Police had to use force to contain the rioting mob. Police have maintained that the rioting mobsters entered Jamia premises and they had to enter the varsity to flush the rioters. Highly placed sources in the intelligence agencies tell that the agencies believe the protests at Shaheen Bagh are being held to protect some of the miscreants who may be hiding there. The women and children ‘leading the protests’ is just a cover so that should the police use force, they get painted as monsters. The intelligence agencies are keeping a tight vigil on these demonstrations.

Delhi anti-CAA riot: Bone ossification test nails lies of one of the rioters claiming to be juvenile, court rules the accused is not minor

0

After going through the bone ossification test report of one of the accused in the anti-CAA riots in Delhi last week, who had claimed to be a minor, a Delhi court on Monday dismissed his claims.

Adjourning the hearing in the Seemapuri anti-CAA riots case, in which the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shahdara, Rohit Rajbir Singh had suffered a head injury due to stone-pelting, till January 6, 2020, the Delhi court said that it did not find the accused to be a minor and said that it will hear his bail petition on the basis of merit on the next date.

The court was hearing the bail petition moved by one of the accused who claimed to be a juvenile following which he was asked to be kept separately.

The court had earlier on Friday allowed the police to carry out a bone ossification test to ascertain the age of an accused, arrested in connection with a violent protest at Seemapuri against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and National Register of Citizens, as that person had claimed to be juvenile.

During the hearing, the court noted that the documents submitted by the counsel for the accused to prove his age were not valid as they were certificates issued by a Madrasa where he studied. The police said no other identity proof was available with them and hence bone ossification should be done to ascertain his age.

The court then directed the Medical Superintendent of GTB hospital to conduct the test on December 28 and asked the police to submit the report by December 30. Accordingly the test report was submitted with the court today which proved that the person is not minor.

Ministry of External Affairs denies reports that Indian ambassador to Austria has been recalled on corruption charges

The Ministry of External Affair has denied media reports claiming that India has recalled its Ambassador to Austria. The MEA has said that they have not shared any note on this regard with media, and the news is false and baseless, calling it a distortion of facts and mischievous. Although the ministry didn’t deny the report of the Ambassador’s transfer to Delhi, they said it is an administrative decision and not linked with any corruption charge.

The statement issued by MEA

A statement issued by the ministry said, “Reports that India’s Ambassador to Austria has been recalled to headquarters is factually incorrect. The decision to transfer the officer back to headquarters was an administrative one. The distortion of facts related to this matter is mischievous. No note on this regard has been shared with the media by the Ministry. Any reference attributing the Note to the Ministry is false and baseless.”

Earlier today and yesterday, several media houses had reported that India’s ambassador to Austria Renu Pall has been recalled amid allegations of financial irregularities against her. It was reported that an investigation ordered by CVC and conducted by the ministry of external affairs had found that she had incurred expenditures to the tune of crores of rupees on the government residence without permission. Reports had alleged that Renu Pall had rented an apartment for herself at Rs 15 lakh per month, and she was “fraudulently claiming the VAT refunds and misrepresenting facts in various permissions”, quoting unnamed official sources. Most media houses had sourced the news report from IANS, while Times of India had published it as its own report.

The news reports by Indian media houses were picked up by Xinhua, the official state-run media house of China, which reported that the Indian envoy was recalled for corruption. The Indian media houses that had published this report include Times of India, News18, India Today, Livemint, NDTV, Times Now, Republic, Amar Ujala among others. Even news agency ANI had also reported the same which has been now denied by MEA. Other than Xinhua, another foreign media house Khaleej Times had also reported it.

But now the Ministry of External Affairs has denied all these reports, saying that the ambassador to Austria has been transferred to Delhi as per an administrative decision, and there is no truth in allegations of corruption against her.
