In what appears like an attempt to set petrol pump on fire, two youth hurled a burning firecracker at the petrol tank. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera, where two men came on a scooter to fill petrol.

The one who rode the scooter into the petrol pump (yellow jacket) shifted to the pillion seat after filling petrol and flung a lit firecracker at the petrol pump before fleeing.
A major tragedy was averted by the staff’s presence of mind who immediately pushed the cracker away from the pipe. Had the cracker burst near a pipe, it could have resulted in a huge accident.

Complaint filed at the police station
The manager of the petrol pump, Motilal Chaudhary, has filed a complaint against the youth at the Umra police station. A case has been filed under sections 285, 286, 336 and 114 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for endangering the lives of people.

Reportedly, the miscreants whose vehicle number had been captured in the CCTV camera have been arrested. One accused, Mohammad Irfan Qureshi has been arrested.
Yahoo Inc. has become the latest technology firm to retreat from China in response to Beijing’s increasingly tightening control over the industry.
On November 2, Yahoo Inc. said it is pulling out of China citing “challenging” business and legal environment in the country.
“In recognition of the increasingly challenging business and legal environment in China, Yahoo’s suite of services will no longer be accessible from mainland China as of November 1,” the company said on Tuesday.
The pullout was overwhelmingly symbolic given that many of the company’s services were already blocked by China’s digital censorship. However, the latest measures taken by the CCP to expand its control over technology firms may have compelled Yahoo to bite the bullet.
The timing of departure coincided with the enforcement of a new data protection law by China. The legislation, dubbed as Personal Information Protection Law, took years in the making and is touted to be the Chinese equivalent of Europe’s stringent GDPR regulations. It lays down stipulations under which authorities can collect personal information and sets rules for how it is used.
Chinese laws also make it mandatory for organisations operating within their geographical jurisdiction to hand over data of users if requested by authorities, making it incredibly difficult for technology companies to maintain their promise of ensuring user privacy.
Back in 2007, Yahoo was hauled over the coals by US lawmakers for handing over data on two Chinese dissidents to the CCP, which eventually led to their imprisonment.
The move also comes in the midst of a deteriorating relationship between the United States and China as the two superpowers feud over an array of issues, including Hong Kong, human rights violations, detention of Uyghurs in Xinjiang and Beijing’s non-committal attitude towards fulfilling its climate change commitments.
Earlier yesterday, US President Joe Biden pulled up China and Russia for not showing up at the crucial climate summit that secured new agreements on Tuesday to end deforestation and reduce emissions of the potent greenhouse gas methane. Biden reproached Xi Jinping, China’s authoritarian ruler, along with Vladimir Putin of Russia, for not attending the meeting.
Tech firms exiting China
Yahoo is the biggest technology company to exit China. The products affected included Aol.com and news outlets such as TechCrunch. Users of apps such as Yahoo Weather were told in October that it would be discontinued this month. Yahoo had to previously cut back on its operations in China, stopping a music and email service in the early 2010s and then shutting down its Beijing office in 2015.
Technology firms have had a troubled relationship with the CCP, which had aimed to consolidate power by keeping a tighter rein on the companies that operate in China. Social media behemoth Google had given up years ago on its efforts to warm up to the Chinese leadership in exchange for concessions to penetrate one of the world’s largest markets. China did not budge and continued to impose stifling restrictions, making it impossible for Google to operate.
Earlier last month, Microsoft’s professional networking platform LinkedIn said it would cease to operate its Chinese site, replacing it with a jobs board instead. In public, the company cited a “significantly more challenging operating environment” as well as “greater compliance requirements in China” for its decision to relinquish its operations in the country.
On November 2, the Union Health Ministry sent central teams of experts to nine states and union territories amidst rising cases of dengue. The teams have been sent to Kerala, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh. As per GoI’s statement, a total of fifteen states and UTs have been contributing 86% of the country’s total cases of dengue till October 31.

The teams comprise experts from National Centre for Disease Control and National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme. The official memorandum sent to the directors general of health services and principal secretaries (Health) of the states and UTs stated, “It has been decided by the competent authority to depute central teams to the identified states to assist the state governments by providing technical guidance, including public health measures, for managing the ongoing outbreak of dengue.”
Mansukh Mandaviya, Health Minister, had directed the Union Health Secretary on Monday to identify the states with a high active caseload of the disease and send expert teams to provide support.
Notably, in Delhi alone, 1,530 cases have been reported so far in 2021. In addition, 1,200 cases were reported in the last month itself, making it the highest count in October in the last four years. Apart from dengue, 160 cases of malaria and 81 cases of chikungunya have also been reported in the national capital till October 30. The reports suggest that the government of Delhi has directed state-run hospitals to use 1/3 of the Covid beds for the treatment of dengue, malaria, and chikungunya patients.
Dengue viruses are spread to people through the bites of infected mosquitoes of the Aedes species. After contracting the disease, the infection leads to fever, body ache, nausea, vomiting, and in severe cases, internal bleeding or a fatal drop in blood pressure.
On November 2, Kochi Police arrested Thushara Kallayil, the woman who sells non-halal food, her husband Ajith Kallayil and two associates Appu and Sunil, from Kottayam district for allegedly levelling false allegations. The couple had alleged that two men, Nakul S Babu and Manoj, had attacked Thushara for running a non-halal food joint.
The case against Thushara has been filed under Section 152A (Promoting enmity between different groups) of the Indian Penal Code.

Police said Thushara and others had attacked Nakul and Manoj.
According to the Police, the incident took place on the night of October 24, where Thusara, her husband, and two others allegedly removed a kiosk owned by Nakul S Babu at Chil Se Food Spot at Nilampathinjimukal near Infopark, Kakkanad, Kochi, Kerala. Police said the ‘no-Halal’ board was put up on the same day the brawl happened. During the investigation, they found that she and her associates took furniture from a nearby shop contrary to what her complaint said, where she had claimed that furniture was stolen from her shop.
The shop owner has also filed a theft case against her and others. The Police said that Thushara and her husband Ajith had planned the attack. The Police further added that she added communal colour to the incident to gain media attention claiming the incident happened because of the non-halal board.
Thushara’s version of the incident
In a Facebook live, Thushara claimed she was in the process of opening a new non-halal eatery. However, the ‘no-halal’ board irked locals, and she got attacked by some miscreants. The reports suggested she was getting threats for opening a second branch of her non-halal restaurant. Condemning the attack, K Surendran, the state president of BJP Kerala, Tweeted: “Strongly condemn the attack against Smt.Thushara Ajith. A group of Muslim fanatics brutally attacked the woman entrepreneur due to non-compliance with Halal in her hotel. What happened in Kakkanad is nothing less than Talibanism. I urge the people of Kerala to reject Halal Invasion”.
Notably, Thushara had opened its first non-halal restaurant in January 2021. Many Islamists had taken offence to her idea of running a non-halal restaurant. “Muslims keep saying that it is not correct. Whenever Hindus start any business, Muslims try to intervene”, opined Thushara, who has been running the restaurant for a year and a half now.

Alleged ‘activist’ Roshni Ali, who had filed a petition seeking a blanket ban on firecrackers in West Bengal, broke into ‘Naagin dance’ on a news channel while lamenting about firecrackers and oxygen scarcity.
Ali while speaking in a panel on Republic Bangla (31 minutes) started to dance when she did not get a chance to speak. As multiple panellists voiced their opinions together, Ali began doing ‘Naagin dance’ to grab attention.

Ali, while explaining the need for a ban on firecrackers said, “A few months ago we were gasping for oxygen and checking our oxygen levels on oximeter,” linking the need for medical oxygen amidst the pandemic with air quality. However, she was interjected by her co-panelists, which is when she began her dance.
We reported how Ali was upset with Supreme Court’s order rejecting the blanket ban on firecrackers.
In an Instagram video, Ali claimed that she is back at the Calcutta High Court to fight for her rights. “The fight is not yet over. I am going to make an appeal and still fight for our right to breathe. It’s not just the environmental health, but it’s all our individual health that is at stake with such a verdict. It’s not just Calcutta, but the entire nation is watching,” she said.
The new activist on the block is seemingly welcoming of this widespread attention. In a Facebook post uploaded late on Tuesday night, Ali shared her email ID for people to schedule interviews and online interactions with her.

To strengthen her case and appear neutral, Ali has also been sharing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech delivered at the G20 climate summit on her social media platforms.
‘Victim card and activism’
Following the classic Leftist template of victimhood peddling, Ali in her interview with TheQuint alleged that her title ‘Ali’ is being used as a reason for ‘hatred.’
“This has become a very communal matter, and my Ali title is being used as the main reason for the hatred. This is not about religion. We are part of a global conscious community and climate change is a part of our reality. We are at the brink of the sixth mass extinction,” claimed Ali.
It is notable here that the ‘sixth mass extinction’ claim is debunked by many scientists.
However, when Ali was asked if she managed to show the same activism and social awareness to ban loudspeaker azan in Mosques, she claimed ‘it is not about religion.’
‘Crackers consume oxygen’
Ali, when asked about going after firecrackers, said, “Green crackers or other crackers, they consume a lot of oxygen. We are living in terrible times, our lungs are suffering. Why do we need festivities, be it Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, New Years…which kills our lungs…? We are more than our religious identity.”

On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, Twitter removed an editorial cartoon published by OpIndia on the recent Elle controversy. This is the cartoon that apparently violated Twitter policy.
OpIndia is being forced to delete the cartoon even though Twitter had hidden it already citing ‘policy violation’. Out account has also been locked out. Which is why there have been no tweets from official handle since over 14 hours now. We’ve disputed it with Twitter and escalated the issue, but our guess on what Twitter will do with it is as good as yours.
You see, on October 25, 2021, a woman who opened first ever non-halal restaurant in Kerala was reportedly assaulted by Islamists. She was also threatened against opening a second branch. The Kerala Police, however, has now allegedly arrested the couple on allegations of ‘levelling fake allegations’.
This, in a way, is economic boycott of people who do not practice Islam as they cannot be employed in halal food industry by default.
The above cartoon was in reaction to a cartoon shared by a fashion magazine Elle on its Instagram page after several netizens took to social media to express their disapproval for the advertisements and creatives shared for the upcoming Diwali festivities.
Many of these brands had morose looking models staring into the abyss, looking as if they have eating disorder and are questioning their life choices. Netizens were upset because Hindu festivals are all about lights, happiness, laughter and joy. People wear new clothes, buy jewellery, gifts, sweets, light up diyas, draw rangoli welcoming the Lakshmi and Lord Ram back home. It is a time for celebration. The sad looking models just killed the vibe, especially at a time when the world is slowly recovering from the Coronavirus pandemic which is believed to have originated in China.
Here was the cartoon shared by Elle on its Instagram page to portray Hindus, who do not want their festivals to look depressing, ‘violent’ just because a bunch of netizens said no to sad Diwali.

First of all, the whole romanticisation of Mughals and Diwali is a truckload of bullsh*t to put it mildly. There are enough historical accounts of Hindu temples being destroyed and looted by Mughals and the forced religious conversion by the barbarians from our history to safely say that our festivals survived not because of ‘Mughals who made them grander’ but despite Mughals who wanted to destroy every bit of Hinduness in India.
But then, portraying the ‘saffron terror’ gets a free pass but if you show the true colours of Islamists, you are an Islamophobe. That a woman alleges assault by radicals for opening a non-halal restaurant is labelled as ‘fake news’ and reporting on it is ‘hate speech’ but vilification of Hindus is not only normalised but even encouraged to appear ‘secular’.
But when it comes to the Big Tech, Hindumisia gets a platform served on a platter while calling out radical behaviour of Islamists gets you flagged as ‘hate speech’. Some snowflakes are more equal because, really, who wants to mess with the ‘sar tan se juda’ enthusiasts!
And hence, OpIndia’s editorial cartoon gets flagged for ‘policy violation’ on Twitter and our account gets locked out because the toilet tissue rolls of ISIS took it upon themselves to call a woman who said she was assaulted by Islamists a liar, because, ummah.
This is not the first time the Big Tech has taken the knee in solidarity with the ummah. Remember NYTimes and its generally racist attitude towards India?
In 2014 when India was the first nation to reach Mars in the first attempt under the Mangalyaan mission. September 2014 was historic for India’s space research under Prime Minister Modi. India’s ISRO was the fourth space agency to reach Mars with Mangalyaan (Mars Orbiter) after Roscosmos (Russia), NASA (USA) and the European Space Agency (22 European member states).
The most interesting part of this mission was that it was the most cost-efficient Mars-craft. It was made possible at the cost of approximately Rs 450 crore. India had even left China behind in this feat because China and Japan were unsuccessful in their Mars mission.
In the cartoon, a bare-footed man wearing dhoti, turban and holding a buffalo next to him is seen knocking on the doors of ‘Elite Space Club’. So, well, yea, F*ck you, NYTimes and your elite club of entitled people, even if you did apologise after the uproar.
But no one really censored it. It was not called out for racism. NYTimes also apologised to those who might be offended. In July this year, it went a step ahead and went looking specifically for anti-Hindu, anti-Modi candidates to employ and spread propaganda. In their ad, the specific purpose of the New York Times seems to be to appeal to candidates who can write against the democratically elected government in India and contribute to a tirade that can only be called a “regime change” operation.
This racism against Indians, especially Hindus, gets legitimacy and acceptance. But if one says slightly uncomfortable truth about the so-called peaceful community, one gets labelled ‘hatemonger’.
Sadly, this is not something unique to racist, elitist international publication houses. So-called liberals in India, too, conjure up imaginary scenarios to spew hate on Hindus because it is ‘safe’ as all the Hindu netizens would do is outrage online (and not really behead anyone or blow themselves up for jannah) and then it gives fodder to international media to paint entire Hindu community as intolerant.
Dictionary meaning of secularism is: indifference to or rejection or exclusion of religion and religious considerations. Here is a quick example of ‘secularism’ in India.
There is one ‘satirist cartoonist’ Satish Acharya. He likes to say he speaks truth to power, but he can hardly take criticism himself. Anyway, in July this year, when India was scaling up its vaccination for coronavirus, Acharya tried to insinuate that the vaccine hesitancy in India was mostly amongst the Hindus.
Acharya showed a man asking the nurse what the ‘Gothra’ of the vaccine is since he would want to match it with his horoscope. Which is amusing because no one has ever heard of such a request from any Hindu while getting vaccinated.
However, there is a section of one community which has been showing vaccine hesitancy because of its formulation.
Halal vaccines
But Acharya didn’t mock the ones who wanted halal status for the vaccines. No one wants to be Charlie Hebdo’ed.
There is tremendous pressure to create a narrative of ‘Hindu Taliban’ and ‘Hindu terror’ to combat the very real Islamic terror guised as Islamophobia. Terrorism has no religion is a valid statement only if terrorists are Islamists. For crimes committed by people of other religion, make sure to demonise the entire community to keep your secular credentials going.
And that is where the Big Tech steps in to help further the narrative that a bunch of Hindus online who have expressed their disappointment and displeasure over appropriation of their festivals, making them feel guilty about being happy for the festivities are intolerant rioters even if not a single stone was pelted, not a single ‘kafir’ was beheaded.
The US Department of State on Tuesday issued a press statement condemning the harassment, intimidation, and surveillance carried out against journalists to constrain them from performing their journalistic duties. The statement was issued to mark the International Day to End impunity for crimes against journalists.
“A free and independent press holds leaders accountable, protects the rights of citizens, and ensures our communities are well informed. In too many countries, journalists face the threat of violence or imprisonment for their reporting. The United States condemns threats, harassment, and violence targeting journalists and media workers,” the statement said.
In its statement, the US department said the threats against journalists have increased manifold, notably from governments that have the resources to go beyond borders, employ digital surveillance tools and track journalists’ communication and whereabouts to clamp down on their abilities to report on corruption and repression.
“Now, more than ever, we must stand against the increasing use of physical attacks, online harassment, intimidation lawsuits and regulatory pressures being used to silence media around the world,” the statement read.
“On the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, we renew our resolve to advocate for an open press free from unjust restrictions, and to hold to account those who attack press freedom,” the statement added.
American duplicity on protecting rights of journalists while persecuting Julian Assange
Although the US Department of State emphasised the need to safeguard journalists from repressive regimes that targeted scribes and suppressed them from reporting inconvenient truths, it nevertheless underscored the hypocrisy of the United States in pontificating on press freedom while persecuting Julian Assange for uncovering America’s war crimes.
Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, is currently under imprisonment at one of the harshest jails in the United Kingdom for exposing US war crimes and their undercover secrets. He has been lodged in prison since 2019 when he was removed from the Ecuadorian embassy in London. He had taken refuge in 2012 in the Embassy to avoid extradition to Sweden over a sexual assault case that was subsequently dropped in November 2019.
He was indicted by US authorities on 17 charges of espionage and one charge of computer misuse related to the publication of secret US military documents that carry a maximum sentence of 175 years in prison. The charges against Assange is that he published secret documents obtained by former Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning, some of which included the disclosure of foreigners who were aiding the U.S. military abroad. He is also accused of plotting to hack computers and conspiracy to obtain and disclose national defence information.
It was recently reported that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the United States of America (USA) was even contemplating kidnapping and assassinating Julian Assange. The discussions regarding the same reportedly occurred in 2017 after Donald Trump took oath as the president of the USA, as per some reports.
US President Joe Biden expressed his disappointment over China’s absence from the G20 summit while speaking at the closing press conference on Tuesday.
Biden at the press conference lashed out at China saying, “It was a big mistake for China’s President Xi Jinping not to attend COP26. The rest of the world will look to China and ask what value-added are they providing and they have lost the ability to influence people around the world and all the people here at COP.”

“The fact that China is trying to assert, understandably, a new role in the world as a world leader — not showing up, come on,” Biden exclaimed accusing Xi Jinping of walking away from global leadership.
Not just Beijing, but Biden even criticized Russia for skipping the meet. “His tundra is burning — literally, the tundra is burning. He has serious, serious climate problems, and he is mum on willingness to do anything,” Biden remarked while speaking about Russia.
“It’s just a gigantic issue. And they walked away,” concluded the US President.
China retaliates- says US in no position to blame
Biden’s comments have not gone down well with China. Beijing issued a clarification on Tuesday saying that their President was not given an opportunity to deliver a video address and hence had sent a written response instead.
Reacting to Biden’s criticism, China in its state-sponsored daily newspaper Global Times alleged that by badmouthing China and Russia, the US has ‘undermined the achievements of the G20 and cast a shadow on the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.’
Furthering their counter-attack, China further reminded the US of its poor performance in dealing with climate change. “The US’ biggest problem on climate change is the inconsistency of its words and deeds. There is no plan for how the Biden administration’s emissions reduction commitments will be promoted in the US,” China lashed out in its editorial report.
Not just the US, China also lamented against friend-turned-foe, Australia. “Australia is a developed country, as well as a close ally of the US. But as Australia is the leading coal exporting country, it has been holding a twisted attitude toward climate action,” the report read further.
Interestingly, Xi Jinping has not travelled outside of China since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020. China’s absence from the climate summit came as a rude shock as the country is being held responsible for being the world’s largest emitter of carbon emissions responsible for climate change.

Even as China’s President Xi Jinping has promised to zero out emissions by 2060, a study published by Rhodium Group in 2019 suggests that the Chinese companies emit greenhouse gases more than all developed companies combined.
Gurugram administration has withdrawn its earlier decision of allowing Namaz in eight public places after protests from local Hindu residents and organizations. The administration has announced on Tuesday (November 2, 2021) that it has withdrawn its previous order of allowing Namaz in 8 public places in Gurugram.
According to reports, the selected locations were Bengali Basti Sector 49, V-Block DLF-III, Surat Nagar Phase-1, Outside Khedi Majra Village, On Dwarka Expressway, Near Daulatabad Village, Sector-68, Near Ramgarh Village, Near DLF Square Tower and Between Rampur village to Nakhdaula road. The Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram has also constituted a committee to identify other places where Namaz was offered publicly. The committee included representatives from both Hindu-Muslim communities.
Reportedly, the committee would decide about the future locations of offering Namaz while Gurugram Police spokesperson Subhash Boken has stated that Namaz could only be offered at mosques and select places. He noted that maintaining social harmony and brotherhood between Hindu-Muslim communities is the priority of the district administration.
Subhash Boken said, “Namaz can be offered only at Idgah, Masjid or designated places. Due to the decision taken by the committee in this matter, the brotherhood and social harmony of both the organizations should be maintained for which the district administration is committed. For this the cooperation of both the organizations is also required.”
The ‘Hindu IT Cell’ responded to the withdrawal of the order permitting public Namaz and said that the decision was a victory for all Hindus. The organization also mentioned that it had filed an RTI in this regard.

It should be noted that the ‘Hindu IT Cell’ was the first organization to raise its voice legally in this matter before any official authority. Members Akshit Singh, Sahil Khosla and advocate Abhishek Sharma also raised their voice against the public offering of Namaz on social media.
Notably, the police had earlier given permission for public Namaz in a total of 37 places. As a result of the disturbances caused by the public offering of Namaz, a huge protests ensued where a large number of people including Hindu women came out on the road for five consecutive weeks, chanting bhajan-kirtan and slogans. Several representatives of Hindu organizations who participated in the sector 12 A protests were also detained.
BJP candidate Shishupal Yadav won the Prithvipur assembly seat with a margin of 15,687 votes as results were declared for the recently held Madhya Pradesh by polls. The by-polls were held on October 30 and votes were counted for the Khandwa Lok Sabha seat and three assembly seats of Prithvipur, Raigaon (SC) and Jobat (ST) in Madhya Pradesh on the 2nd of November.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also won the Jobat seat. Both Jobat and Prithvipur seats were taken from Congress with Sulochana Rawat defeating Mahesh Patel by a margin of 6,104 votes in Jobat (ST) Assembly constituency and Shishupal Yadav winning in Prithvipur.
In Khandwa, BJP candidate Gyaneshwar Patil registered a comfortable victory with over 80,000 votes. The Congress party’s Kalpana Verma has won the Raigaon seat against BJP’s Pratima Bagari by a margin of 12,290 votes.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in his statement said, “Results of bypolls in Madhya Pradesh are unprecedented for BJP. We are not only wining Khandwa LS seat but also Jobat Assembly seat where over 90% people are STs. BJP won it only two times in 70 years. The results put an stamp on work done by central and state governments.”
