Stampede at Afghanistan-Pakistan border as thousands try to flee the Taliban regime

A stampede like situation was seen at Spin Boldak in Afghanistan with thousands trying to cross the border to Pakistan. In a video shared by EHA News on Twitter, thousands of Afghans can be seen cramped, squashed in the scorching heat at the Spin Boldak and Chaman border to escape the Taliban regime.

As per the news agency, the panic-stricken situations at the Afghanistan borders are the same as Kabul airport. Reportedly, Pakistan has made the migration process more stringent and ramped up security at the highly sensitive border. This is also the same location where Indian journalist Danish Siddiqui was killed by the Jihadi organization in the month of July.

‘Peace has been established’

Hanging off the aeroplanes or crossing borders illegally stuffed in transport trucks, hundreds of Afghans who are especially on the radar of the Taliban are desperately trying to cross over to the other side.

However, Afghan families stuffed in dozens of trucks at Pakistan’s side of the Spin Boldak-Chaman border are waiting to return to Afghanistan to live under the ‘peaceful’ Taliban regime.

“I am returning to Ghazni, now peace has been established and we are happy that we are returning back to our home. It’s much better to go back and settle there,” remarked one Wali Ur Rahman while speaking with AFP.

“People want to return but they are not allowed to cross, we request the Pakistani government to allow us to cross the border because there’s no war, and peace has been established,” said Muhammad Nabi expressing confidence in the Taliban rule.

Meanwhile, with more than 10,000 people waiting at the Kabul airport, US, UK and Australia have raised an alarm of ‘high terror.’ These countries have been urging their citizens to vacate the airport. The US State Department late on Wednesday announced: “Those at the Abbey Gate, East Gate, or North Gate now should leave immediately” citing potential security threats.

Indore bangle seller case: Here is what Tasleem Ali’s family claims about his second Aadhar card under false name

Indore Police had sent a team to Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, to probe the case against POCSO accused bangle seller Tasleem Ali who was booked for harassing a minor girl and carrying forged documents. As per reports, the team has found a second Aadhar card at Ali’s UP Home, which he had allegedly made to avail benefits under Prime Minister Awas Yojana.

Times of India reported that the team had gone to his Hardoi house to gather more details about Tasleem alias Golu alias Asneem. CSP Nihit Upadhyay said, “We will examine the facts, and relevant information will be used in the case.” The team has left for Indore after investigation. ‘

Officers who talked to the family members of Tasleem and recorded the statements said that the family members told them they Ali was allotted a house under PM Housing Scheme. However, his name mentioned in the list had errors. Instead of getting the name corrected in the scheme documents, Ali got another Aadhar card made with the incorrect name.

Tasleem attended court via VC

Tasleem was produced in the court of Justice Suman Shrivastav, Special Judge POCSO, via video conferencing and remanded in jail. CSP Upadhyay said that Ali he had a high fever and cough, so the Police requested the court to allow him to attend via VC.

The case against Tasleem Ali

On August 24, it was reported that the Indore Police had booked Tasleem Ali for harassing a minor. Sections under IPC and POCSO were added against him. A video had gone viral on the social media networks in which Ali was seen getting thrashed by a group of men. Police had also booked three men for assaulting Ali.

The case took an unexpected turn when Narottam Mishra, Home Minister, Madhya Pradesh, issued a statement in which he said, “As per the report of the Home Department, the man was selling bangles using a Hindu name while he was from some other religion. There were two Aadhaar cards on him, allegedly fake. There is a ritual of women wearing new bangles during Saawan month. The issue between two sides started from there.”

A 13-year-old girl had complained that Ali, under the pretext of selling bangles had grabbed her and touched her inappropriately when her mother went to fetch money.

Alarmed by the screams of her daughter, when the victim’s mother rushed outside, Ali threatened the victim and ran away from the scene. He was grabbed by the neighbours. According to the Police, Ali was found in possession of fake documents. He was carrying two Aadhar cards. One had the name “Asleem, son of Mor Singh”, and the second one had “Tasleem, son of Mohar Ali”. He was also in possession of a burnt voter identity card in which his name was not clear. But in the column of father’s name, ‘Mohan Singh’ was printed on it.

Ali denied all charges against him and claimed both of his identity cards were real.

TOLO News journalist reported dead after Taliban attack says he’s alive, tweets about the brutal attack on him and his cameraman

Even as liberals and journalists hail the Taliban for its “moderate” outlook and for its public relations of holding a “press conference”, the Taliban continues to unleash violence against journalists, intellectuals, non-Muslims.

In the latest attack on journalists, a reporter with TOLO news was brutally attacked by the Taliban in Kabul, the journalist confirmed on Thursday.

Taking to Twitter, TOLO news reporter Ziar Khan Yaad informed that he and his cameraman were beaten by the Taliban in Kabul’s New City while reporting. The journalist added that their cameras, technical equipment and his personal mobile phone were all snatched by the Taliban.

Ziar Khan Yaad also said the Taliban got out of an armoured Land Cruiser and hit him at gunpoint. Yaad and his cameraman Baes Majidi were filming footage of jobless people and labourers in Haji Yaqoob square in the Shahr-e-Naw area of Kabul city on Wednesday morning when the Taliban attacked them.

“I still don’t know why they behaved like that and suddenly attacked me. The issue has been shared with Taliban leaders; however, the perpetrators have not yet been arrested, which is a serious threat to freedom of expression,” the TOLO News reported said.

Ziar Khan Yaad also clarified that he is still alive, contrary to the reports that the Taliban had killed him in the middle of the road in Kabul when he was reporting on “poverty, unemployment” at Haji Yaqub intersection in the capital. His own organisation the TOLO News had posted a tweet saying that Ziar Khan Yaad was killed in an attack by the Taliban.

After journalist Ziar Yaad’s clarification, the TOLO news has deleted the tweet and edited the report to state that the reporter was attacked and he is still alive.

The media house also reported that the reason for the attack is not known, and the Taliban said that they have ordered a ‘serious’ investigation into the incident.

Earlier, the Taliban had made a surprise visit to Tolo News offices in Kabul amidst its renewed media propaganda to project themselves as “moderate” and a “peaceful” organisation.

Attacks on journalists in Afghanistan continue

Ever since the Taliban took over Kabul from the Afghan forces, there has been increased attacks on journalists, independent intellectuals in the country. Earlier in In July, Danish Siddiqui, an Indian photojournalist working for an international news agency Reuters, was shot dead in Kandahar. Siddiqui had been in Kandahar covering the situation in the region after the US forces pulled out of Afghanistan recently.

Last week, the Taliban fighters had shot and killed a relative of a journalist working with German outlet Deutsche Welle. The Islamists were conducting a house-to-house search for the DW journalist when this incident occurred. Another relative of the journalist was seriously injured in the attack, but others were able to escape.

Besides foreign journalists, the Taliban have carried out attacks on local journalists as well. Nematullah Hemat of the private television station Ghargasht TV is believed to have been kidnapped by the Taliban, and Toofan Omar, the head of the private radio station Paktia Ghag Radio has been shot dead by Taliban fighters.

Last Wednesday, the Taliban attacked and assaulted journalists in Jalalabad for covering the protests in favour of the Afghanistan flag. Another journalist was slapped and beaten by armed Taliban radicals. Social media users said that the Taliban punished the two for working with foreign media. Similarly, reports have emerged that Taliban fighters attacked CNN journalists on Wednesday.

Indian Journalists hail Taliban for their press freedom

Ironically, the attacks on journalists by the Taliban comes at a time when senior leaders of the Jihadist organisation are trying to project a “moderate” image by its PR blitzkrieg. In fact, the propaganda of the Taliban has achieved limited success, with left-liberal journalists across the world, including from India, have fallen into their trap.

It is worth mentioning that the Indian “secular-liberal” had hailed the radical Islamic group for holding the press conference to address a few questions raised by the journalists working in Afghanistan.

On August 17, following the capture of Kabul from the Afghan government, the Islamist group Taliban had held a press conference. The “liberal-secular” establishment in India was so “impressed” by the conference that they used it to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Following the footsteps of toolkit-creators, a series of posts popped up on social media platform Twitter shaming PM Modi for not holding a press conference since he resumed office in 2014. Rather than questioning the Taliban over killing one of its colleagues Danish Siddiqui, the Indian liberals were taking a dig at the Indian Prime Minister for not holding a press conference in the last seven years.

Diksha Shinde used false credentials to apply, not employed, not paid by us: NASA clarifies on Maharashtra teenager controversy

A young teenager from Maharashtra left everyone in bewilderment after she claimed to have been selected for some coveted NASA program. The news was first published by ANI after which scores of media houses reported Diksha Shinde’s selection as a panelist on the Minority Serving Institution (MSI) Fellowships Virtual Panel of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

However, soon after the news broke out, netizens began to cast aspersions on her claim and even her academic background. To put an end to the controversy, OpIndia wrote to the relevant authority at NASA to seek clarity.

It turns out, while Shinde was selected as a panelist, her selection was based on false information regarding her background and credentials provided by her. The organization is now in the process of verifying the background of all potential panelists. “The matter has also been referred to the agency’s Office of Inspector General,” reads the response.

NASA’s response to OpIndia

Busting claims of her employment and fellowship, NASA clarified that Shinde ‘has not been employed by NASA nor has the agency awarded her a fellowship, which are only opportunities available to U.S. citizens.’

Puncturing yet another ‘achievement’ of the teenage girl, the agency revealed that they have not accepted any scientific paper from Shinde nor has NASA presented any other accolades to the girl.

OpIndia seeking clarity on the matter had written to NASA specifically asking about Shinde’s claim of being selected for any fellowship, submitting research papers and being employed by NASA to review research papers.

“I accepted the offer and will start working soon. My job involves reviewing proposals submitted by researchers and describing a collaborative approach to conduct research with NASA and understanding the connection between proposed research area and academic discipline pursuit of the students,” was Shinde’s claim on being offered a job by the agency.

We reported earlier on how Shinde’s claim did not match the information available on NASA’s official website. Shinde had also circulated a false certificate allegedly awarded to her by the CEO of NASA.

Not just this, Shinde who supposedly is a class 10 student has a LinkedIn account named Dr. Diksha K Shinde with “Scientific Researcher at NASA” as her designation.

OpIndia reached out to NASA with further questions on the selection process. We asked:

  • What action is NASA planning to take against the errant employees who are responsible for the gaffe?
  • Was it genuine incompetence or mistake on the part of the employees or was there an agenda behind it?
  • How long is the investigation by the Office of Inspector General expected to last? When can a final report be expected?
  • Is NASA planning to take action against Shinde’s guardians for submitting false information in order to take advantage of the brand value?
  • What was the false information regarding her background and credentials that was provided?
  • Who provided this information?

However, NASA said that they do not wish to add anything more than the formal statement.

With NASA clarifying its stance on the controversy, it is still not clear whether the teenager has been conned by someone claiming to be from NASA or if it is a plain case of fraud.

Why ‘Kerala model’ is the worst form of governance in India

With containment strategies in place even before the first case of novel coronavirus was detected on January 30, Kerala appears to have finally hammered the curve flat.

— The Hindu (May, 2020)

Yesterday, Kerala recorded over 30,000 new cases of the coronavirus, along with over 200 deaths and a test positive rate above 19 percent. With only 3 percent of India’s population, Kerala now accounts for almost 70 percent of all new covid cases. It is number 1 in daily number of deaths. The nationwide test positive rate is 2.4 percent, while in Kerala it is over 19 percent. So what is left to say about the famed Kerala model?

It is difficult to know where exactly to start. Do we start with this article in Mint from March 2020, which lists Pinarayi Vijayan among “7 chief ministers who made war with Covid-19 look easy?” To borrow somewhat from the CNN reporter covering the recent flight of Americans from Afghanistan, if this is success, what would failure look like? Do we list out all the awards and honors that Kerala’s ‘rockstar’ health minister has received? Perhaps the fawning coverage from Al Jazeera, BBC, New York Times and the like. Or the liberal news anchors who seemed to suggest that the Kerala CM be made captain of India’s Covid response.

On a lighter note, we could read Youtube star Dhruv Rathee’s classic work on “How Kerala defeated Coronavirus.” Or how about the folks at The Hindu, who perhaps intended to be taken seriously? How about their special May 2020 editorial titled “The mark of zero : On containment of Covid-19 cases in Kerala“? That editorial is over 500 words long and may or may not be a candidate for the world’s longest joke.

Now, the temptation to read out this editorial word by word, adding “lol” at the end of each sentence is very strong. But I will try to pick out some of the best lines here.

If in April there were early signs of Kerala gaining an upper hand over the virus, its control became clear from the fourth week of April. …  The containment success can be traced back to how Kerala did not wait for directions from the Centre but instead led from the front. … But what sets it apart from the other States is the manner in which it followed textbook epidemiology protocols to the tee,

Speaking of jokes, Rahul Gandhi comes to mind rather easily. But did you notice something about him? Rahul is a member of parliament from Wayanad in Kerala. His party is technically in opposition there. But did you come across a tweet, a note of caution or any criticism from him about the way the state government is handling Covid?

Now think about why that is. When have you ever heard of an opposition party that refuses to question the ruling party over such an obvious failure of governance?

This is the Kerala model. It is much more than just media management. It is also about the ruling party keeping the opposition in its pocket. There is nobody in Kerala to question the government. The so called ruling party and the so called opposition are there only for the sake of appearances. Did you know that there are as many as eight legally recognized political parties in China in addition to the Chinese Communist Party? However, in order that they may be allowed to exist, these other parties are required to recognize the “leading role” of the CCP.

That’s what Kerala is today. A one party Communist state, with the so called opposition Congress recognizing the “leading role” of the CPI(M). There is no internal opposition. Outside the state, their image is managed expertly by their contacts across the media. Take your favorite anchor, editor or journalist and dig deep into their past. You will find a Communist connection, usually from college. While other political parties wasted so much effort getting their message out, the Communists invested in those who control the flow of information.

Oh, I almost forgot. The Kerala model also includes controlling the “experts”. These folks will say incredible things, such as Kerala’s covid disaster is a “controlled explosion”. When the test positive rate goes through the roof, it is their job to concoct wild theories such as ‘targeted testing’. Kindly note that this targeted testing technology has not been shared with the rest of the world, nor anywhere outside Kerala. Like the Kerala model, it is supposed to be taken on faith.

Some of these experts are making up their credentials, but the more disturbing are the ones who are not. These are people who should have known better. Our society invested in nurturing these experts, in training their minds to think freely and honestly. They did not. They sold out worse than any lobbyist ever has.

The reality is that the first wave never quite ended in Kerala. But our experts and intellectuals had an election to win. So they went to work designing cow urine jokes and xenophobic jibes against people of India’s poorest states, such as Bihar or Uttar Pradesh. Even when the voting was over in Kerala, they could not resist. The chance to pile on Kumbh Mela or Kanwar yatra was too enticing to pass up. Even when that got over, they kept lying and making up excuses. Now they are in too deep.

But the virus cannot be appeased and made to go away. It can neither be bribed nor intimidated. And so we have the current explosion. Of course, the blame for which will be fixed on Modi, beyond a doubt.

Ultimately, the onus was on all of us. We should have called out the Kerala model a long time ago. Not just last year, but I mean decades ago.

We should have noted the oppressive party state in Kerala, the Communist terror and political violence, the union thugs and government policies that squeezed out all possibility of wealth creation. We should have flagged the remittance economy of the state. The most sh*tty thing a government can do is squeeze its citizens so hard that they flee outside and then gorge on the money they send back. But that was the Kerala model all these years. We should have flagged the organized superstition around HDI and other lies. But we did not. We let it be. And now all we have left is the threat of a third wave starting from Communist ruled Kerala. And a couple of slogans, pamphlets and editorials on ‘How Kerala defeated the coronavirus.’

Poet Manoj Muntashir gets ‘cancelled’ by ‘secular-liberals’ for calling out Mughal barbarity and false glorification

Poet Manoj Muntashir is getting a lot of hate from liberals, Islamists and Leftist ‘historians’ for calling out Mughal barbarity in his recent videos. A lot of hate comments have been directed to his recent posts in which he promoted the video. ‘Historian’ Irfan Habib, so-called mythologist Devdutt Pattanaik, and RJ Fahad are among those who have cancelled the poet for speaking about the barbarity of Mughal invaders against native Indians.

In a clip of the video that was shared by the poet, he was seen asking how can we Indians accept the blatant distortion of our own heritage. He asked how can invaders, plunderers who killed thousands of Indians be celebrated as heroes. He criticised the Mughals as ‘glorified dacoits’, asked people to recognise India’s own heritage and stop glorifying barbarians and plunderers as heroes.

Leftist ‘historian’ Irfan Habib said “Sad to see a poet and writer spitting venom using dubious and imaginary arguments as history.”

Interestingly, Devdutt Pattanaik, the so-called mythologist, used Wikipedia to teach a history lesson to Manoj. He said, “Who taught this man history? What will he call the Maratha invasion of Bengal?” while sharing a link to a Wikipedia page.

One RJ Fahad regretted taking Manoj’s interview for Rekhta and said, “I regret that I took an interview of this hate monger and a bigot for Rekhta. Itna zeher kahan se laate hain ye log?”

Islamist Hussain Haidry said, “Not the first time he’s spreading hate or lies, and it will not be the last time. Mask has been off since well over a year. This is not an out of the blue video. Khair, sarkaar aur samaaj ne punish karne ke bajaay incentivise kiya hua hai anti-Muslim zahar ugalna. So ugal raha.” (Government is incentivising hatred against Muslims instead of punishing it, so he is spreading hatred.)

What’s in the recent video shared by Manoj?

In the recent video that he has shared on his Youtube channel, Manoj Muntashir talked about choosing heroes beyond religion, caste, and other barriers. He questioned the historians and educators for teaching the glorified history of the Mughals but missing out on the details of atrocities against Hindus. Manoj questioned why there is mention of Akbar removing Jaziya on Hindus, but there is no mention of the fact that he had imposed Jaziya again later during his tenure as the ruler.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyscTvyTl70

Also, he questioned why no one objected when ‘Ga’ for Ganesha was replaced in the books as ‘Ga’ for Gadha (donkey). Manoj said that despite the fact that Ravan was a Brahmin, no Brahmin would worship him because he was evil. He added that we should choose our heroes based on their deeds, not based on their identities. He had spoken against the blatant Mughal glorification done by so-called historians and governments over the years.

He also objected to calling Akbar’s tenure the best in Indian history. He said, “How his tenure as the ruler be the best in the history when thousands of Hindus were killed for not converting to Islam. If his tenure was the best, what was Ram Rajya?” Manoj raised questions over the leaders who happily inaugurated roads in the name of Mughals ignoring the fact that they had brutally killed thousands of Hindus and destroyed temples.

Update:

On September 9, Manoj Muntashir informed that his video ‘Aap Kiske Vanshaj Hain’ was removed from YouTube after a bogus copyright claim was made on it. The poet informed that they have challenged the claim, and the video will be back soon. YouTube is known to aggressively take action on copyright claims, and many times videos are taken down on fake copyright claims.

Kerala Tourism urges people to visit the state amid unhinged COVID pandemic wave, deletes tweet

Much to everyone’s tragicomedy amusement, Kerala Tourism on Thursday put up a tweet asking tourists whether they really are tourists if they have not planned a trip to the backwaters of Kerala.

Kerala tourism post

“If you have not planned a trip to the backwaters, hillstations or beaches in Kerala, #AreYouEven a traveller?” Kerala Tourism tweeted with hashtags ‘#GetReadyForKerala’ and ‘#KeralaTourism’

It is imperative to note here that Kerala on Wednesday reported 31,445 new COVID cases. The total new cases all over India on Wednesday stood at 46,280. Kerala is currently on its fourth wave of coronavirus pandemic.

Kerala COVID cases

The test positivity rate in Kerala was 19.03% on Wednesday. That means, for every 100 people who got tested, 19 came out positive. Last one week’s average positivity ratio stands at 17.3% in Kerala.

However, after Kerala Tourism put up the tweet, many netizens mocked the state tourism department for being so oblivious to the unhinged pandemic in the state.

However, within minutes, Kerala Tourism deleted the tweet.

Radical Islamic outfit PFI expresses hope in Taliban, calls Indian govt to start diplomatic relations with them

Radical Islamic organisation – Popular Front of India (PFI) has expressed its confidence in the Taliban, saying that the Jihadist organisation would provide good administration in Afghanistan, reports News18.

Praising the Taliban for taking over Afghanistan after the withdrawal of the US forces, the Popular Front of India (PFI) leader Parappurathu Koya termed the Taliban’s onslaught as a “resistance” against the US occupation.

“This draws similarity with resistance against the US occupation in Vietnam and Bolivia as the US was forced to retreat,” PFI leader and National Executive Council Member Parappurathu Koya claimed.

Defending the Taliban’s recent atrocities on the Afghans, Koya cried conspiracy that Western media has portrayed the outfit in a wrong way and the picture is far from reality. “The Taliban should not be viewed with prejudice,” Koya wrote in an article, advising the Indian government to start diplomatic relations to keep Pakistan away from Afghanistan.

It is notable here that Pakistan has been funding and sheltering the Taliban for years. The country has been openly celebrating the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan.

In his propaganda article, Koya claimed that the Afghan people were subjected to brutal persecution under American occupation.

“The US-appointed Ashraf Ghani government was engaged in high corruption. This made things easier for the Taliban,” said Koya.

Popular Front of India

Popular Front of India – PFI, a notorious radical Islamist organisation founded in 2006, has a history of supporting Islamists movements. It has a history of committing violence to further the cause of radical Islam. Their members have come under the scanner on several cases of violence.

During the investigation into the Anti-Hindu Delhi Riots and the violence across the country in the wake of the Citizenship Amendment Act, the role of PFI has been suspected, and numerous members of the PFI have been arrested for their involvement in the riots.

Meanwhile, PFI’s support for the Taliban is not surprising as many influential clerics and Islamic scholars have already expressed their support for the Jihadist outfit Taliban after it captured large swathes of territory in Afghanistan. Besides clerics, a large section of Indian Leftist media was even seen praising the Taliban for their propaganda of “changed” principles with regards to women’s rights and “holding a press conference”.

Islamists hail Taliban for their “success” in Afghanistan:

Samajwadi Party MP Shafiqur Rehman Burq had extended his support to the Jihadist organisation by saying that their conquest was akin to India’s freedom movement against British Empire.

Besides, Shafiqur Rahman Barq, a senior cleric of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), also extended his support to the terror group. Maulana Umrain Mahfuz Rahmani, the Secretary of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), had praised the Taliban’s offensive against the Afghan government to capture the war-torn country by force.

Similarly, Maulana Mufti Arshad Farooqi, the Mufti of Darul-Uloom Deoband and the chairman of Online Fatwa Department, glorified the radical Islamic outfit Taliban for its alleged victory against the USA in Afghanistan. It is worth noting that the Taliban, which has recently risen in prominence in Afghanistan and effectively controls the country, draws its inspiration from the Deobandi movement.

A Tamil Nadu-based Maulana had also joined the list of fellow Maulanas from across the country to glorify the radical Islamist outfit Taliban for capturing Afghanistan.

Afghan woman MP Rangina Kargar who flew from Turkey to Delhi claims she was deported by authorities

A week after the Taliban captured Afghanistan, a woman member of the Afghan parliament, Rangina Kargar, arrived at the national capital’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on August 20 from Turkey.

According to the reports, the Afghan MP Rangina Kargar was not allowed to enter the country as immigration officials asked her to wait. The woman MP has now claimed that she was deported from the IGI airport two hours after reaching Delhi and was sent back by the same airline to Istanbul.

Rangina Kargar, a member of the Wolesi Jirga representing the Faryab province, claims to hold a diplomatic/official passport that facilitates visa-free travel under a reciprocal arrangement with India. Kargar, a Turkmen born in Mazar-e-Sharif in 1985, is not affiliated with any political party and claims to be a women’s rights activist.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Kargar stated that she had travelled to India several times on the same passport in the past and was even used to be waived through earlier, however, the Indian immigration officials asked her to wait as they had to consult their senior officers.

Kargar said, “They deported me, I was treated as a criminal. I was not given my passport in Dubai. It was given back to me only in Istanbul. It was not good what they did to me. The situation has changed in Kabul, and I hope the Indian government helps Afghan women.”

She further added that no reason has been given for her deportation and believes it was probably related to the changed political situation in Kabul.

“I never expected this from Gandhiji’s India. We are always friends with India, we have strategic relations with India, we have historical relations with India. But in this situation, they have treated a woman and a member of Parliament like this. They told me at the airport, ‘Sorry, we cannot do anything for you’,” Kargar claimed.

Interestingly, the Afghan MP did not travel into India in any of the evacuation flights that are being operated by the Indian Air Force and Air India under Operation Devi Shakti. Instead, she chose to fly directly from Turkey via Dubai.

It is worth noting that Rangina Kargar has been living in Canada already, where she has applied for political asylum. Last year, Rangina Kargar had travelled to the US on a political passport seeking asylum.

From the US, she moved to Canada, where she was seeking asylum. The Afghan lawmakers had accused Rangina of receiving her salary and other cash privileges even as she sought asylum. Apparently, she took salary by marking present in the attendance book of the house despite her absence for over 14 months.

UP: Munawwar Rana’s son Tabrez arrested for orchestrating a fake attack on himself, wanted to frame relatives

Two months after Urdu poet Munawwar Rana’s son Tabrez claimed to have been shot at in Rae Bareli, he was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police. SP Shlok Kumar informed that Tabrez had staged a fake attack on himself to frame his relatives.

Rana’s son was arrested on Wednesday from his residence in Lucknow after a Rae Bareli court issued a non-bailable warrant issued against him. Tabrez had not appeared before the court on August 13 on the matter of scripting a false attack to frame his family over a family dispute.

Tabrez, who has been accused of hatching and criminal conspiracy, will be produced before the court on Thursday for further legal proceedings. Reportedly, Tabrez made an attempt to flee but was nabbed by the police.

The fake attack

Tabrez on June 28 had alleged that two bike-borne people had shot at him when he stopped at a petrol pump under the Rae Bareli city police station limits. He claimed that four people were involved in the attack all of which were arrested on July 02 and weapons recovered from them.

After investigating the case, the UP Police had informed on July 2 that Munawwar Rana’s family had an ongoing dispute over property with their relatives and Tabrez had wanted his relatives framed in false cases. The assailants were found to be Tabrez’s own associates.

“Tabrez hoped that if he stages an attack on himself, then, he can accuse his uncles of trying to assassinate him. In this way, he believed that his uncles will avoid pursuing the land dispute case further. Tabrez had plans to contest polls from Tiloi (Amethi) and thought that he would get security and media coverage by pulling off such a stunt,” the police spokesperson emphasised.

Munnawwar Rana’s family and controversies

Munawwar Rana’s family has been infamous for being involved in one case or the other. Tabrez’s sister Fauzia Rana who accused the police of barging into the house without a warrant had earlier been booked by the Lucknow police for leading anti-CAA protests.

On Wednesday yet another case was filed against Munawwar Rana for comparing Hindu sage Valmiki to the Taliban. This time a case has been filed under Indian Penal Code’s Sections 505 (2) (public mischief) and the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna. Multiple FIRs have been filed against Rana for his controversial and Hinduphobic remark.
