Agra DM schools Priyanka Gandhi for spreading fake news that 28 people died of coronavirus within 48 hours

On Monday, the District Magistrate of Agra fact-checked the outlandish claims made by Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Twitter about the supposed deaths of 28 Coronavirus positive people in the past 48 hours. The tweet stated that a total of 1,136 Coronavirus cases and 79 deaths have been reported in Agra in the past 109 days.

Citing a Navbharat Times report, Gandhi claimed that in a span of 48 hours, as many as 28 coronavirus patients had died in Agra. She also accused the UP government of suppressing the facts. However, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra herself was quite removed from facts. 28 people did not die within span of just 48 hours. In reality, 28 people, over period of time and few weeks, died within 48 hours of their being admitted in the hospital.

The District Magistrate took to Twitter to explain the facts to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in simpler language.

The DM even gave the figure of testing being carried out in Agra.

Agra DM asks Priyanka Gandhi to withdraw tweet

In a statement to Priyanka Gandhi, the District Magistrate of Agra has asked the Congress leader to ensure that she condemns the said tweet which aims to stir fear and confusion among the masses. Reiterating that the information contained in her tweet was false and baseless, the email emphasised, “Ensure that the tweet is dismissed/condemned within 24 hours so that accurate information is disseminated to common citizens and stakeholders, besides guaranteeing that the frontline workers are not demoralised. “

Email by DM Agra to Priyanka Vadra

However, after being schooled on facts, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra again took to Twitter to claim that Agra’s death rate is higher than that of Mumbai and Delhi and demanded an answer from the government within 48 hours on the same.

Congress lies amidst Coronavirus pandemic

This is not the first time that the Congress party or its leaders tried to spread fear and panic among citizens, using manipulated data and misleading news stories. In one such attempt, the Congress party posted a chart to claim that India has the highest number of Coronavirus cases in the world. But in doing so, the party exposed itself as even the wrong chart did not show what they were trying to prove.

Amid the migrant worker crisis, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had resorted to playing petty politics by claiming that Congress will arrange for buses for migrants but UP government is not giving permission. Later, when the state government gave permission, the ‘buses’ arranged for by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra included buses with included autorickshaws and buses with expired registration.

In March, she had posted pictures from Rajasthan and Pakistan of hailstorm destroying crops while claiming those are from Uttar Pradesh to defame Yogi government. However, after netizens pointed it out, she deleted her tweet.

US government declares China’s Global Times, People’s Daily and two other outlets as ‘foreign missions’, calls them CCP mouthpieces controlled by Chinese govt

The United States administration on Monday designated four more Chinese propaganda outlets as ‘foreign missions’, announcing that they are the mouthpieces for the Communist Party of China.

In a move that is likely to increase tensions between the two countries, the Donald Trump administration designated four media outlets – state broadcaster China Central Television, the ruling Communist Party’s mouthpiece newspaper People’s Daily, its tabloid subsidiary the Global Times, and the semiofficial state-run China News Service and reflected their real status as “propaganda outlets” under the control of the Chinese Communist Party.

“The Communist Party does not just exercise operational control over these propaganda entities, but it has full editorial control over their content,” said David Stilwell, the senior US diplomat for East Asia.

In a statement, US State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus said, “Over the past decade and particularly under General Secretary Xi Jinping’s tenure, the CCP has reorganized China’s state propaganda outlets disguised as news agencies and asserted even more direct control over them.”

“Pursuant to authorities under the Foreign Missions Act, the State Department is issuing today a new determination that designates the U.S. operations of China Central Television, China News Service, the People’s Daily, and the Global Times as foreign missions,” the statement said.

These four media outlets join five other Chinese news organizations that have been declared as foreign missions by the US authorities in February.

Earlier in February, the Xinhua News Agency, the China Global Television Network, China Radio International, China Daily Distribution Corporation and Hai Tian Development USA, which is the distributor for the People’s Daily in the United States were designated as the foreign missions.

Chinese media outlets will now face restrictions in US

The outlets are now required to report their personnel rosters and real estate holdings to the US State Department and will also put under limits on the number of personnel they can employ in the United States.

The media wars between the US and China have been going on for months after the US authorities in March had said it was slashing the number of journalists allowed to work at US offices of major Chinese media outlets to 100 from 160 due to Beijing’s “long-standing intimidation and harassment of journalists”.

In response, China had expelled more than American correspondents with the New York Times, News Corp’s Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post.

The relations between US-China relations are on the lowest in years now after President Donald Trump has taken a direct stand against China over a range of issues including the handling of the coronavirus pandemic, trade wars and China’s increasing encroachment into Hong Kong.

US President Donald Trump had earlier threatened to cut ties with China

US President Donald Trump had earlier said that he had lost interest in speaking to President Xi Jinping and went on to suggest that his country could even cut ties with China following the outbreak of deadly pandemic of the Wuhan Coronavirus.

Donald Trump, speaking to Fox News in May, had said he was very disappointed with China’s failure to contain the disease and that the pandemic had cast a shadow over the US-China trade deal.

Recently, the Trump administration had repeated similar claims.

US administration to withdraw billions of dollars worth American pension fund investments from China

Earlier in May, the Donald Trump administration had decided to pull out billion dollars worth of American pension fund investments in China. The US administration had asked for the withdrawal of billions of dollars of pension fund investments in China as a response to China’s failure to notify the world regarding the Chinese coronavirus.

Prior to that, the United States Senate had initiated legislation to block Chinese firms from getting listed on the American stock exchanges. There has been some controversy in the US regarding Chinese companies like Alibaba being listed at the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ.

Recently, Trump had signed a bill that would enable the USA to sanction Chinese officials involved in human rights violations against Uighur Muslims.

Abdul Karim Rana becomes ‘govt doctor Rahul Thakur’ to cheat coronavirus patients seeking plasma donors, arrested by police

Amid coronavirus spread and lack of ample medical facilities in National Capital Delhi, Covid-19 scammers are minting money. Delhi police have arrested a man identified as Abdul Karim Rana(22) for duping Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel. Abdul Karim had allegedly posed as a plasma donor and took money from the patient’s family to reach the hospital.

Abdul Karim posed as ‘Rahul Thakur’

According to the complaint registered with the Delhi police, Goel’s nephew’s father-in-law was tested positive for coronavirus and was seeking a plasma donor for the treatment. He posted a request on the social media platform and got a call from Karim, who posed as ‘Rahul Thakur‘, a doctor, as per a report in News 18.

As per Goel’s complaint, Karim introduced himself as a doctor at a government hospital and stated he recently recovered from the infection. By that time, Goel’s nephew had already arranged a donor, so his help was not required. On 19h June, his nephew again posted a request online when another acquaintance of Goel needed plasma therapy. Thakkar called him and showed his willingness to donate plasma. He asked for Rs.450 for travel expenses, which Goel’s nephew had transferred immediately.

FIR registered under section 420

Later, the accused said he did not get the money and asked Delhi Assembly Speaker to transfer it again. When they tried calling Karim, his phone was unreachable. On contacting the patient’s family, they found out that Karim took money from them as well. Monika Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North), said that they had registered an FIR under section 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Indian Penal Code against Karim at the Civil Lines Police Station. He was arrested on Saturday.

The DCP said, “During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he cheated people on the pretext of donating blood plasma amid the pandemic outbreak. He introduced himself as a doctor to COVID-19 patients, pretended to be a plasma donor and asked for money in the guise of travelling expenses to reach the hospital where patients were admitted.”

Increase in Covid-19 related scams

Police have asked everyone to be cautious and take help only from those who are known to the family. As per the reports, there has been an increase in Covid-19 related scams and vulnerable families of patients are falling prey in the hands of the criminals. MS Randhawa, Delhi Police spokesperson, said, “Everyone needs to be cautious. Any posts on social media to seek help might attract criminals or fraudsters to earn easy money. Better to take help from someone known.”

The mobile phone Karim used to contact the patients’ families has been seized. This is not the first time Abdul Karim Rana stood on the wrong side of the law. According to police officials, there is another ongoing case of cheating against him registered at the Hauz Khas Police Station.

Alarming increase in Covid-19 cases in Delhi

In the last few days, the number of Covid-19 cases in Delhi has increased at an alarming pace. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Delhi has reported 62,655 cases to date, out of which 23,820 are still active. 2,233 people have lost their lives due to Covid-19 related complications. There have been allegations that the Delhi government was hiding the exact number of cases and deaths. Recently, Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with Delhi Government to pace up arrangements for Covid-19 cases. Supreme Court also slammed the Delhi government for mismanagement. MLAs, including Atishi and Satyendar Jain, also tested positive for coronavirus and undergoing treatment.

Malayalam film actor Prithviraj Sukumaran’s new film ‘Vaariyamkunnan’ glorifies a man who led Hindu genocide during Moplah Massacre

A fresh controversy erupted on Monday after filmmakers in Kerala announced a new period film titled ‘Vaariyamkunnan’, based on the life of a Jihadi named Variyam Kunnathu Kunjahammed Haji who was responsible for carrying out genocide against thousands of Hindus in Kerala during the early 1920s.

On Monday, it was revealed that director Aashiq Abu has cast Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran in his period film titled ‘Vaariyamkunnan’, slated to be released in 2021. The controversial movie is based on the story of Muslim leader of Moplah community, who massacred thousands of Hindus during the Malabar or Moplah communal riots in 1921.

Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, took to Facebook, to announce his new movie and also hailed the Jihadist in his post. The actor, sharing the posters of the movie, said Variyam Kunnathu stood up against an empire that ruled a quarter of the world.

“Etched out his own country with an army that waged a never before war against the British. Though history was burned and buried, the legend lived on! The legend of a leader, a soldier, a patriot. A film on the man who became the face of the 1921 Malabar revolution. Vaariyamkunnan. Filming begins in 2021. On the 100th anniversary,” said his Facebook post.

The new Malayalam movie on the life of Islamic terrorist Variyam Kunnathu, who had unleashed massive terror on Hindus on the Malabar region of Kerala, is yet another attempt to whitewash the crimes committed by the Islamists in the country under the garb of freedom of movement.

The absolving of crimes by a section of filmmakers, especially in Kerala, by hailing a terrorist as someone who “rebelled” against the British, is nothing but an attempt to erase the history and also a dangerous act of rewriting the history of Malabar or Moplah Hindu massacres to suit their anti-Hindu narrative.

Who really was Variyam Kunnathu Kunjahammed Haji?

Variyam Kunnathu or Chakkiparamban Variyamkunnathu Kunjahammed Haji, who proclaimed himself to be the ‘Sultan of Eranad’ – the region of Kerala where the Moplah genocide occurred, was, in fact, the Father of the Moplah Hindu genocide, who along with Muslim forces looted and massacred Hindus of the region under the garb of rebelling against the British in the early 1920s.

The Moplah Hindu Genocide, also often whitewashed as the Malabar Rebellion, or the Mappila Rebellion, are a series of incidents in the history of the country, where Hindus were not only butchered by the Muslims, but also the entire barbarity was erased from history in entirety, or altered to fit a suitable political narrative.

The four-month period of horror in the Malabar region of Kerala when Muslim rioters carried out a mass genocide against Hindus, actually started as a freedom revolt against the British but ended up being as a reason for the Jihadists like Variyamkunnathu to wipe out the Hindu population of northern Kerala.

Along with his friend and aid – Ali Musliyar, Variyam Kunnathu led the Moplah riots in Kerala in 1921 and was an active supporter of the Khilafat movement, which eventually led to the partition of the country and the creation of Pakistan. The estimated Hindu deaths of the ethnic cleansing in Moplah massacre accounts to somewhere around 10,000 and it is believed that as many a 100,000 Hindus were forced to leave Kerala in the wake of the riots.

The number of Hindu Temples that were destroyed in the genocide is speculated to be a hundred. Forcible conversion of Hindus were rampant and unspeakable atrocities were poured upon Hindus. It can be read about in more detail here

The atrocities against Hindus were so barbaric such that the leading national leaders of the day had to express their shock against the Moplah massacres.

Babasaheb Ambedkar in his book, Pakistan or the Partition of India, wrote, “The blood-curdling atrocities committed by the Moplas in Malabar against the Hindus were indescribable. All over Southern India, a wave of horrified feeling had spread among the Hindus of every shade of opinion, which was intensified when certain Khilafat leaders were so misguided as to pass resolutions of “congratulations to the Moplas on the brave fight they were conducting for the sake of religion.”

Annie Besant described the events in her book ‘The Future of Indian Politics’ as, “They murdered and plundered abundantly, and killed or drove away all Hindus who would not apostatize. Somewhere about a lakh of people were driven from their homes with nothing but the clothes they had on, stripped of everything. Malabar has taught us what Islamic rule still means, and we do not want to see another specimen of the Khilafat Raj in India”

The Malayalam movie ‘Vaariyamkunnan’, produced by a team mostly of Malabar Muslims, may have just thought that they could ignore the massacres unleashed against Hindus by their forefathers and re-write the history to hail the genocide maniac through their films.

Father in Kerala church badly beats up his 2 months old daughter as he suspected someone else was her father

The police in Angamaly in Ernakulam district, Kerala, have arrested a 40-year-old pastor named Shaiju Thomas for abusing and causing life-threatening injury to his 54-day-old daughter. As per reports, Shaiju Thomas has slapped the infant multiple times and had thrown her on a cot, causing severe injuries to the little baby girl.

Dr Sojan Ipe at MOSC Medical College Hospital in Kolenchery has stated that the child has suffered a severe brain injury. She was admitted with bleeding in the brain on Friday. The condition of the child is critical and she is battling for her life in the hospital.

On Saturday, the police arrested the child’s father, pastor Shaiju Thomas(40) for the crime. Angamaly police arrested 40-years-old pastor Shaiju Thomas and he is currently at the COVID first-line treatment centre at Angamaly. Police have charged him under the Juvenile Justice Act and IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder).

The pastor had doubts on his wife’s ‘character’

As per reports, Thomas was suspicious of his wife and had claimed that he is not the father of the girl child. Shaiju allegedly fought with his wife regularly and has been abusive. The police has stated that he has also assaulted the infant on multiple occasions. On Thursday, after a similar assault by Shaiju, the child had fallen unconscious and was taken to the hospital.

Though Shaiju had initially claimed that the child had accidentally fallen off the cot, after a police investigation, it was found that Shaiju has been known to be abusive and he later admitted to assaulting the infant and throwing her under the influence of alcohol.

“We have so far received enough evidence against the accused,” said Angamaly Police. They have recorded the mother’s statement and Thomas has been sent in 14-day judicial custody.

Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya attacks Sonu Nigam, calls him ‘thankless’ after the singer gave the ‘don’t mess with me’ warning

T-Series chief Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Khosla Kumar took to Instagram and attacked singer Sonu Nigam after he lashed out on former and accused him of planting stories against Nigam. Taking to Instagram, Divya Khosla Kumar accused Sonu Nigam of running a fake campaign against her husband.

Divya accused Nigam of playing with the mind of audience and reminded him that it was T-Series, the company currently run by her husband Bhushan Kumar, who gave him break in the industry and helped him in his career. She ended the post with the hashtag #AchaSilaDiyaTuneMerePyaarKa – the lyrics of the hit song of Nigam which catapulted his career in the film industry.

On Monday, singer Sonu Nigam had taken to Instagram to ‘expose’ the music mafia in the Hindi film industry. He also took on T-Series supremo Bhushan Kumar and asked him not to mess with him.

Taking on the T-Series chief Bhushan Kumar, Nigam said that he has messed with the wrong person. Nigam said, “Now I have to take your name Bhushan. You are not alone. You have messed with the wrong person.” He alleged that Bhushan used to come to his house for help. He begged him to Deewana album with T-series. Sonu Nigam alleged that he also helped Bhushan to meet Smita Thackeray and Bal Thackeray.

In the video, Sonu Nigam made explosive allegations that Bhushan sought his help to save himself from gangster Abu Salem. “Remember Marina Kunwar? And the allegations she made? Why did she say this and why did she back out? Media knows. I have her video. If you mess with me, I will upload her video on my YouTube channel. Don’t mess with me,” he said.

#MeToo allegations on Bhushan Kumar by Marina Kunwar

In 2018, Marina Kunwar came out publicly during an interview with Aaj Tak, where she accused Bhushan Kumar and Sajid Khan of sexually harassing her. At that time, it was alleged that the media did not cover the case and Marina’s story was thrown under the carpet.

In the past few days, Sonu Nigam has posted series of vlogs revolving around problems faced by actors, singers, and other artists in the film industry, especially those who do not have any godfather or family support.

18 family members including wife of Rajasthan Congress MLA Giriraj Singh Malinga test positive for coronavirus

In a new development, 18 members of Rajasthan Congress MLA Giriraj Singh Malinga’s family have tested positive for the coronavirus. Malinga is the Congress MLA from Bari in Dholpur, Rajasthan.

According to reports, the MLA’s wife is amongst those who were infected with the novel disease besides 17 other relatives of his family. In 2018 state polls, Malinga had defeated Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Jaswant Singh Gurjar by 19,685 votes.

Malinga, who is a three-time legislator from Rajasthan, had landed himself in controversy during the 2018 Rajasthan elections after it was alleged that he had forged documents to appear for Class 10 examinations in Uttar Pradesh. An FIR was also ordered against him in this regard.

Congress MLA in Chhattisgarh also diagnosed with the Wuhan Coronavirus

In yet another case reported today, another Congress MLA in Chhattisgarh has also been diagnosed with the Wuhan Coronavirus. The Congress legislator of Rajnandgaon district had reportedly attended a funeral few days ago where a person was tested positive for Covid-19. Subsequently, the MLA underwent a test and was found positive, collector Rajnandgaon Topeshwar Verma said.

The officials said that the family of the MLA and others who had come in contact with him were sent on home quarantine.

Coronavirus in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh

While Rajasthan has so far reported 14,930 cases of coronavirus of which 349 people have died of the highly-contagious disease, the number of Covid-19 cases in Chhattisgarh increased to 2,273 with 139 more people testing positive for novel coronavirus until Sunday.

Other Congress leaders who tested positive for Coronavirus

Last month, senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan was reportedly diagnosed with the Wuhan Coronavirus. He is currently the PWD Minister in the Uddhav Thackeray-led-Maharashtra Government.

Officials had revealed that Chavan had been travelling between Mumbai and Marathwada at regular intervals. As per reports, he has been identified as an asymptomatic patient and underwent treatment in Nanded in Maharashtra.

32 Ventilators donated to Afghanistan to fight the Coronavirus pandemic smuggled to Pakistan

Amid coronavirus spread when patients are dying in lack of oxygen support, corrupt officials in Afganistan managed to smuggle 32 ventilators to neighbour Pakistan. According to Pajhwok Afgan News, they received audio clips and photographs of the ventilators that have been smuggled to Peshawar. The whole operation was carried out using the messaging app WhatsApp.

The documents received by Pajhwok show that the ventilators were manufactured by Beijing Aeonmed Co, Ltd., which is known for its medical equipment. One person in the audio clip mentioned that the S-100 model ventilators were stolen from the Public Health Ministry of Afghanistan. He added that if MoPH Afghanistan needs these ventilators, they can sell them back to them, but they should not learn the actual price of these models.

Pajhwok came in contact with an Afghan businessman who is trying to buy back these ventilators. He said, “I am negotiating the purchase of these ventilators. Even I have negotiated the price. We want 15, but they stressed we should buy all of them. So far, nothing is decided.”

Ventilators are essential in the treatment of serious patients of Covid-19. According to the World Health Organization, one out of six patients faces respiratory problems while recovering from coronavirus. Public Health Ministry Advisor and spokesperson, Akmal Samsor, said they are investigating the issue. Those who are involved in the smuggling will be dealt with as per the law.

Afghanistan facing acute shortage of ventilators

The ventilators meant for the patients in Afghanistan have been smuggled to Pakistan at a time when several people have lost their battle against the disease due to the lack of ventilators in the country. There are only 336 ventilators currently available in Afghanistan, and they need more ventilators and experts who can operate them. Samsor added to his statement that China provided four ventilators, Iran three, Turkey three and WHO delivered 27 with the support of World Bank.

MoPH hiding the exact number of ventilators in the country

Acting Public Health Minister Ahmad Jawad Usmani recently said that there is no shortage of ventilators. However, there was a lack of oxygen that they are sorting out. According to some reports, Afghanistan has received medical support from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Russia. Still, the administration is not providing details about the help they have received from these countries.

The health officials in Afghanistan have complained about the lack of Facilities. Mohammad Tawoos Ashraf Naderi, Kandahar Public Health Director, said that they only have two ventilators that are not enough for the patients. The province needs 50 more ventilators, technical workers and professionals to ensure everyone gets much need medical attention. The case is similar with almost every province in the country.

Kolkata police not cooperating in Garga Chatterjee case: Assam Police who went to arrest the TMC troll for insulting Ahom dynasty founder

A team of Guwahati police, who reached Kolkata to arrest the TMC troll Garga Chatterjee for making derogatory remarks against Chaolung Sukapha, the founder of the Ahom Dynasty, said that the Kolkata police were not “cooperating” with them. The city police had reached Kolkata on Saturday. Despite having an arrest warrant against Chatterjee, the Guwahati police were not been able to arrest the TMC troll until Monday evening.

According to reports, members of Bangla Pokkho, an organisation headed by Garga Chatterjee, along with members of some other organisations shouted anti-Assam police slogans and called Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal as anti-Bengali when the state police reached Kolkata to arrest Garga Chatterjee. They claimed that Chatterjee was targeted for speaking in favour of Bengalis residing in Assam.

Assam CM Sarbanand Sonowal called for strict action against the TMC troll

A three-member team of Assam Police, led by DCP (Crime) Barun Purkayastha, left for Kolkata on Saturday to arrest Garga Chatterjee after Chief Minister of Assam Sarbanand Sonowal called for strict action against him for making derogatory remarks against Chaolung Sukapha, the founder of the Ahom Dynasty. It was announced on social media, Friday, that Guwahati Police had been directed to visit Kolkata and arrest Garga Chatterjee regarding the matter.

FIR registered against the TMC troll Garga Chatterjee

Earlier, an FIR was registered against Garga Chatterjee for calling Sukaphaa a ‘Chinese invader’ in the wake of the Indo-China conflict at the Line of Actual Control (LAC). By slandering the founder of the Ahom Dynasty, the TMC troll attempted to attack the Chief Minister for eulogising him.

In a tweet that was later deleted, Chatterjee wrote, “There is a state in India where the State Day is celebrated by Assam BJP to commemorate a Chinese invader who brutally attacked India with Chinese troops.”

Following the tweets, a complaint was filed against him by advocate Bhaskar Gogoi. The complainant said, “These tweets coming in the wake of tense border standoff in Ladakh and general antagonism against the Chinese government at large, might lead to targeting of Assamese people in rest of India.”

Garga Chatterjee spreads hate against Non-Bengalis

This is not the first time that the foul-mouthed TMC troll had tried to spread hatred against Non-Bengalis. Earlier, Chatterjee went on to insult the Marwari community by referring to them as ‘dishonest community that indulges in black-marketing’. He had also suggested that all of India’s problems could be solved if Biharis, people from Uttar Pradesh, Marwaris and Gujaratis were restricted to their own states for their livelihood. Chatterjee had also issued veiled threats against non-Bengalis living in West Bengal.

Meet Jhabra Sekhri, the AAP lapdog who barks on anything Arnab

I had no idea who Jhabra was till he managed to do a hit job against me and my organisation because I had no idea he was that important to be known. Seems I was, so he chased me like a dog, and if a dog chases you long enough, you start to notice. So, this rabid washerman who runs a laundry for news that often ignores its own dirty lingerie (and undergarments stinking with manufactured narrative and fake news), came on to my radar. I named him Jhabra because of my Bihari roots where we call the furry dogs as ‘jhabra kutta’. If you will look at his face, you would see a misplaced garden of curly hair.

The problem with people like Sekhri and his NewsLaundy (‘R’ removed- in English from the name, in Hindi from his body) is the assumption that everyone is answerable to them. He is just like Trichuris trichiura, which resembles a whip but lives in faeces and infests others who live in areas with poor hygiene and sanitation. Well, Sekhri ticks all the metaphorical boxes as he lives submerged in the sewage of unhygienic stories containing lumps of faeces coming from Jhabra himself, ending in a mass infestation of his unsuspecting readers who pay to get sick.

Now that the character is established, let’s get into the shits NewsLaundry CEO revels in. I would go back and forth on his hit job on me, to show how he smoothly transitions from being a person inflated with helium of journalistic ethics (that changes the entire tone of NewsLaundy) to the propaganda peddling popper with suffering from selective retention.

Self-styled ‘fat, insecure, unfunny’ Homo Erectus Kunal Kamra who used to harass female stand-ups in early days, was in the news (and now he is not) for trying to heckle Arnab Goswami onboard an aeroplane. He used words like ‘f*cking’ and ‘sh*t’ and kept going in the face of Arnab, who ignored his advances, and recorded the ‘brave act’. He was banned by several airlines for his Kamraesque behaviour. There was a lot of chatter and Jhabra smelled his friend’s shit from afar.

Jhabra addressed Arnab as ‘news entertainer’ in his ‘opinion’ piece. The choice of words, at best, describe the obloquy as that from a person who is fast losing relevance in a ‘market’ of watchdog that his organisation created, but compromised on every shred of morality that it preached. On the contrary, the ‘entertainer’ holds the rein to the empire of ‘Republic’ that has a market valuation of some ₹1,200 crores ( by last estimation at launch, set to be around ₹2000 crores by year end). To make sense of what that means for the likes of NewsLaundy, if Arnab sips coffee from a cup, and gets it auctioned for charity, it will keep NewsLaundy afloat for a year.

I am not defending Arnab here, because I don’t need to. His works speak for him and while I might not like everything he does, but won’t denounce a person who changed the direction of Journalism in India from his Times Now days, as an ‘entertainer’ because I can use an adjective (and be so poor at that as well!).

On the hitjob on OpIndia, there is a big section of the copy-paste article (reproducing chunks of my own words) letting readers know how obsessed I am with Ravish Kumar. It doesn’t prove anything, rather than just saying that I wrote this, and I wrote that! If you search the keyword ‘Arnab’ on NewsLaundy, you would wonder how come they accuse anyone of being obsessed with anything. It seems as if Arnab ran away with the only pot of hair gel that Sekhri could afford, given his precarious financial condition (and misplaced curls).

He chooses the words ‘ambush monologue’ to describe Kamra’s attention-whore behaviour (no offence to whores). Kamra, Banerjee, Rathi, Sekhri etc are the toilet compartments of the bullshit train that gets noticed only when the lid goes off. They have to stink to get noticed. So, Kamra chose to stink, but Arnab had the mask on. Twitter, largely, celebrated the banning of the boor that Kamra is.

However, that didn’t deter an old friend to let go of a chance of squeezing his own balls to get high. Sekhri squeezed them pretty hard and from the blood rushing to his temples he could come up with three questions, who he announced to structure the whole article on (so that people realise he actually knows to structure an article, which I doubt.): “That he confronted Arnab when the anchor didn’t want to talk to him? That he confronted Arnab on board an aircraft? That his language was impolite?”

The first part of the article explains why journalists need to be questioned. I agree with that. Arnab never said anything about it. As Kamra assumed the persona of a malnourished obnoxious boor, Arnab held on to his dignified one. You can surely question a media person, but he can choose not to reply. Neither did Arnab say anything afterwards. You can force a mic on someone, you can’t make their tongue touch the teeth and produce desired words.

Yet, Sekhri goes on explaining all the journalistic code he never follows. He writes that Arnab and Sudhir Chowdhary spread hate ‘pretty much every day of their lives’. The problem is, coming from a bigot and tartuffian like Sekhri, who champions hate-mongering as an essential mouthwash to start the day, those words make a face which doesn’t have an emoji assigned as yet. If they assign, I call dibs on those curls, albeit misplaced.

Then he goes on to take English people’s names to impress the readers (who donate to read this kind of crap) that he watches documentaries and remembers them too. In next para, he again quotes a British newspaper to sell his credentials. Then he explains how great he was as a 21-year-old forcing people to answer him… blah, blah, blah… I took a nap here.

Then, he gave his seal of approval to stand-up comedians as those who ‘have emerged as the first line of resistance to an oppressive state.’ The jargon was tossed and suddenly a democracy which has, for the second time in a row, with 27 crore votes, gave a majority to a party in centre, which is fulfilling its promises made in the manifesto, becomes an ‘oppressive state’. Why? Because some charlatans have two thumbs to type those letters.

In next part, Sekhri, who just a few paragraphs above accepted the fact that he started his career by heckling people like Sushma Swaraj, Pranab Mukherji and Hema Malini, disapproves of Arnab’s style (sending an army of reporters to heckle people) and even questions if that can be called ‘journalism’.

A guy, who has just quoted that everyone in the position of power needs to be questioned, justifies Kamra’s boorish heckling, started to weep when it came to Arnab’s ‘targets’ like Shashi Tharoor, Jignesh Mevani, Mani Shankar Aiyar, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, unsuspecting JNU students… Are these people beyond the scope of questioning?

He is also concerned why Arnab was picking up on JNU students and women of Shaheen Bagh. Well, just because your urban Naxal agenda brings a cosy blanket over these jihadis, that doesn’t mean they are weak and frail. Listen to their chants of ‘azadi’, listen to their kids spewing venom, have a look at the Hinduphobic posters and have listened to the speeches there… These people are Hindu hating bigots who are on the path of jihad and they need to be questioned.

In the next part, the retard Jhabra justifies how the word ‘fucking’, used by Kamra is all acceptable. The logic is ‘bad language’ should not be questioned but we should see what is being said. Here, Kamra not only uses bad language, but he is not getting his message across. If there was a response, it might seem like a conversation. If it is just you, and it is not a private conversation, your ‘bad language’ is just bad language.

Now, I will again quote the great article NewsLaundy did on me, where they questioned why I used words like ‘Ravish’s head should be put in a commode and flushed’. The reporter said it was inappropriate, Sekhri shared the story from his handle, must have read and supervised it too (a usual process when you target someone bigger than you). So, where was that gyaan, Jhabra? Did it get lost in your curls? He uses the same argument that the same article quotes from my side where I said that journalists like Ravish are using contextually far worse words than what mine would mean in the literal sense.

He also uses ‘prissy preppies’, just to let people know he had a dictionary at hand. I am not sure why he used it, but hey… his article, his words!

In the next part, the prissy preppy tries to define harassment and fails miserably. For him, it was not so, as Kamra ‘did not prevent Arnab from moving, or physically intimidate him or threaten him.’ Although I was pretty sure ‘physical’ aspect was not a necessity while describing ‘harassment’, I took a look into several dictionaries. All I could get was, even ‘annoying’, ‘irritating’, ‘badgering’, ‘pestering’ come into the ambit of harassment.

Then he chooses a word which would commit suicide (if it was possible), as it came from Jhabra’s hands: ‘aesthetic’ of ambush. This word just doesn’t suit his face or personality. He is just the opposite of it. As he tries to explain the ‘ambush’, he finds it perfectly legitimate to ‘ambush when the subject is in an empowered and secure personal space’. The only problem here is, Arnab was of course empowered but he was not in personal space, he was pretty much in a public space where the whole plane was experiencing an idiot yelling expletives.

In the next part of his argument, he doesn’t find this heckling as dangerous because, for him, people jostling to get out on a stationary plane is more dangerous. What Sekhri doesn’t understand is, some rules are not defined with a personal perspective of just one person, but they try to encompass all the possibilities that might arise from a situation. Imagine an Arnab fan watches this heckling, he jumps on Kamra and punches him. Will that be dangerous? For Jhabra? No, because aeroplane’s doors are locked, we need not worry till the engine is on fire.

It doesn’t work that way. You can’t say Kamra would do that! Because Kamra is a mentally unstable person who is found running around famous people’s house to get attention. If he doesn’t get it, he asks someone to photograph him doing so, and then he posts it on Twitter. He did the same here.

In the last paragraph of his article, he talks about Arnab’s ‘pathological fixation’ of Lutyen’s gang. Sad words coming from a guy who spells Arnab’s full name if someone wakes him up from his sleep.

The fact is, this is how this gang of thugs with members like Abhinandan Sekhri works. They try to take down everyone who doesn’t agree with their view. These lapdogs of AAP and Congress, ideologically aligned to anyone who is anti-BJP, masquerading as ‘anti-establishment’, are working in cahoots to drum up agenda. Thugs like NewsLaundry CEO Abhinandan Sekhri get wet with the mention of the name ‘Arnab’. He couldn’t have let it pass because Kamra does ‘social commentary’ according to Jhabra! I puked in my mouth when I read that.

Anyway, all aside, given the shit NewsLaundy is in, Sekhri should focus on… well, nothing.
