Maharashtra has removed over 92 lakh beneficiaries from its flagship Ladki Bahin Yojana after a statewide verification drive exposed widespread eKYC failures and eligibility violations, a move that could save the state more than Rs 16,500 crore annually while raising fresh questions over the scheme's financial management.
