Complaint filed against Arvind Kejriwal, Mallikarjun Kharge, and others for bringing up President Droupadi Murmu’s caste ahead of new Parliament’s inauguration

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, and other political figures have been accused of making inciting remarks by bringing up the caste of President Droupadi Murmu over the inauguration of the new parliament building.

In order to further their political goals, the complaint charged the opposition leaders with inciting animosity across groups and attempting to sow discord against the Government of India.

The complaint accessed by OpIndia was lodged under sections 121, 153A, 505, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and was registered by Vineet Jindal, an advocate in the Supreme Court.

The complaint pointed out the words by the Congress President where he said, “It looks like the Modi Government has ensured the election of President of India from the Dalit and the Tribal communities only for electoral reasons. While former President, Shri Kovind was not invited to the new Parliament foundation-laying ceremony, the President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu is not being invited for the inauguration of the new Parliament building.”

The complaint also contained the tweet by the Aam Aadmi Party supremo invoking the caste of former President Ram Nath Kovind and incumbent President Droupadi Murmu. “Modi ji did not call the then President Shri Ramnath Kovind ji on the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Lord Ram Mandir. Modi ji did not call Shri Ramnath Kovind ji even at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new Parliament building. Now, the inauguration of the new building is also not being done by the current president Droupadi Murmu. The SC (Scheduled Caste) and ST (Scheduled Tribe) community of the country is asking ‘Are we considered unlucky, is that why we aren’t invited’?”

The complaint said that the statements made by both the opposition leaders intentionally indicated the caste of the esteemed President of India in order to suggest that the current administration, led by PM Modi purposefully did not invite the President to the inauguration of the new Parliament building.

“These statements are widely published and circulated in news and social media and would result in provoking the ST and Adivasi community as our honourable President too belongs to Adivasi and ST community,” it conveyed.

It further included that such remarks against the democratically elected government and on the basis of caste made by powerful political leaders in an effort to foster strife among communities and groups are strongly condemned. Political leaders shouldn’t be permitted to degrade themselves to the point of defaming the highest constitutional positions only for the purpose of their own political benefit.

“Besides, it would cause fear in the community creating distrust against the duly elected government, which are offences under section 121, 153A, 505, 34 IPC. which are cognizable offences and very serious in nature. The links to the news reports are also attached to this complaint,” the complaint posited and requested strict legal action against the politicians.

Yesterday, 270 eminent personalities wrote an open letter condemning the opposition for its boycott of the new Parliament building inauguration, which is a part of Central Vista‘s revivification as the country’s power corridor.

Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the new Parliament House on May 28, in a seven-hour programme. A puja and a havan will commence the ritual, and PM Modi will deliver an address at its conclusion.

As per the reports, when the police went to search for him, they discovered Sahil in a drunk state at his residence. Subsequently, the police arrested him, and the legal proceedings are currently in progress.

US: Lawmaker introduces bill to declare Diwali as a federal holiday in the country

A prominent US lawmaker Grace Meng submitted legislation titled “Diwali Day Act” in Congress on Friday, May 26, to make the Hindu festival of Diwali a national holiday in the country and tweeted about the same.

“Diwali is one of the most important days of the year for billions of people across the globe and for countless families and communities in Queens, New York, and the United States,” she stated during a virtual news conference in the US soon after introducing the bill in the House of Representatives.

The Festival of Lights would become the 12th legally acknowledged holiday in the United States if the proposed act is enacted by Congress and signed into law by the President. Different communities from throughout the nation have applauded the development.

“Diwali celebrations are a wonderful time here in Queens, and each year it is easy to see how important this day is to so many people. America’s strength is derived from the diverse experiences, cultures, and communities that make up this nation,” the First Vice Chair of the Congressional Asian-Pacific American Caucus remarked.

“My Diwali Day Act is one step toward educating all Americans on the importance of this day and celebrating the full face of American diversity. I look forward to shepherding this bill through Congress,” she added.

“This year, we saw our entire state speak with one voice in support of recognising Diwali and the South Asian community,” New York Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar said while welcoming the move.

She further mentioned, “My extraordinary partner in government, Congresswoman Meng is now taking the movement national with her historic legislation to make Diwali a federal holiday. Together, we are showing that Diwali is an American holiday. To the over 4 million Americans who celebrate Diwali, your government sees you and hears you.”

Senator Jeremy Cooney of New York State praised Grace Meng for her ongoing efforts to raise awareness of the Asian-American community and noted that designating Diwali as a federal holiday not only respects individuals who observe it but also draws attention to a cultural custom that some Americans do not experience generally.

New York City Councilman Shekar Krishnan commented, “Diwali is a special holiday for so many South Asian and Indo-Caribbean communities. As the first Indian American ever elected to NYC government, I am so proud to support Congresswoman Meng’s legislation to establish ‘Deepavali’ as a federal holiday. It is crucial that children like my own are able to officially celebrate our holidays with their families in a way that I was not able to grow up.”

The Diwali Day Act was introduced in the House of Representatives to widespread support from the Indian community. Sim J Singh Attariwala, Senior Policy and Advocacy Manager of The Sikh Coalition voiced, “The recognition of Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas is pivotal to enriching the cultural fabric of the United States and fostering greater understanding and appreciation for the rich South Asian diaspora.”

“Today is a milestone that demonstrates our visibility, our contributions, and the progress we are making in the United States with the Diwali Day Act,” proclaimed Richard David, Board Member at the Indo-Caribbean Alliance.

Nikunj Trivedi, president of the Coalition of Hindus of North America, congratulated the Congresswoman and said that this joyful festival is observed by millions of Americans and represents the triumph of good over evil and of light over darkness. He added that it also brings people from all walks of life together to cherish goodness, well-being, peace, and prosperity, things that everyone can value and benefit from.

Ria Chakrabarty, Policy Director for Hindus for Human Rights noted, “As Hindu Americans, we are so glad to see a bill to honour the multitude of celebrations that take place across the Indian subcontinent, the Caribbean, and beyond on Diwali.”

“It is high time to recognise Diwali as a holiday in US public schools. Our children should be treated equally. As our children celebrate other cultures, others should celebrate and learn about our culture as well. This is the only way we can teach children to have mutual respect, mutual understanding, and mutual acceptance,” said Dr. Neeta Jain, founder, and president of the International Ahimsa Foundation.

Notably, in April, the US state of Pennsylvania declared Diwali as a state holiday. The state House passed a bill recognising the Hindu festival as an official holiday.

The legislation designating Diwali as a state holiday was submitted in February of this year by two Pennsylvania senators, Greg Rothman and Nikil Saval. According to India American Impact, Pennsylvania is home to more than 600,000 Asian Americans, with Indian Americans making up the largest segment. Nearly 200,000 Indian Americans in the state celebrate Diwali each year.

The auspicious Hindu festival of Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is observed by millions of people all over the world. It is referred to as the “Festival of Lights” and represents the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness. The Indian diaspora as well as people from other ethnic backgrounds celebrate the festival in the United States.

The person sitting in the back seat rolls down the window and provides a letter to the police and security personnel at the gate, as they are unable to recognise Siddaramiah. Some journalists present at the scene, are heard repeatedly informing the security personnel that the person sitting in the car is the CM of Karnataka.

“You are wearing hijab but not following Islam”: Mob abuses & assaults Hindu boy and Muslim girl for going out for dinner in Indore, Shoaib, Shavez and others arrested

The menace of moral policing of interfaith couples by Islamists has surged in recent times. In the Tukoganj area of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, a Hindu boy was attacked by a Muslim mob comprising 20-30 youths as he was returning with a Muslim girl after having dinner at Madani Darbar Hotel near Patel Bridge on Thursday, May 25. A mob started chasing Bhavesh Sunhare and Nasreen Sultana after noticing a Kalava on Bhavesh’s wrist and Nasreen’s hijab. Both Bhavesh and Nasreen are third-year MBBS students. Two cases have been registered and six accused persons—Shoaib, Shavez Lala, Muzzamin, Amin Lala, Saif, and Arbaaz have been arrested according to a Nai Dunia report.

A video of the incident went viral on social media with netizens seeking action against the attacking mob seen in the video. The mob surrounded the victim duo in the Gwaltoli area and questioned the girl about why she was roaming with a Hindu boy. Nasreen objected to the mob’s misbehaviour and told her that she had informed her parents about her dinner plans with Bhavesh.

The Muslim youths said that the girl was disrespecting Islam by going out with a non-Muslim boy. They asked her why she can’t order food online instead of going to the restaurant. One of the man in the mob said, “you are ready to go out with a non-Muslim man but can’t order food online? Do you not know the rules of Hiiab and Islam?”

“You are wearing Hijab, but you are not following the law (of Islam),” the man shouted at the girl, pointing out that she was wearing a hijab. He said that while he can’t talk about law, he can teach her about Islam.

“Don’t down Islam, no one will be allowed to let down Islam,” the youth continued. The mob then asked the girl to take a rikshaw instead of continuing with her Hindu friend.

However, after that some people started confronting the Muslim mob, accusing them of assaulting the Hindu boy, this led to a confrontation between two groups. Some men who came to the duo’s rescue were stabbed with a knife near the Rajkumar Bridge.

Meanwhile, Additional DCP Rajesh Raghuvanshi said, “After informing her parents, the woman told them she had come to have dinner with the man.” She also objected to their misbehaviour. Meanwhile, two others who came to the couple’s rescue were attacked with a knife by someone in the crowd.

Additional DCP Raghuvanshi also informed that two cases have been registered in the matter, one at the Tukoganj police station and the other at the Gwaltoli police station.

An FIR has been registered under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code, and seven suspects have been identified thus far, according to Tukoganj police station in-charge Kamlesh Sharma.

Two of the accused, aged 23 to 26, have been apprehended, while efforts are being made to identify and arrest the remaining 20-odd members of the mob, according to Sharma.

Taking cognizance of the matter, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has instructed police to take strong action against people who harassed the couple.

Meanwhile, Hindu Rakshak Sangathan has written a letter to the Madhya Pradesh CM regarding the incidents of attacks on Hindu youths. The letter also mentioned the distribution of hateful pamphlets. Hindu Rakshak Sangathan member Eklavya Singh Gaud has demanded that the houses and shops of the perpetrators be razed.

10 more cases of attacks on Hindu-Muslim couples by Islamists under the imaginary ‘Bhagwa love trap’ as the bigotry takes root across India

The menace of moral policing of inter-faith couples by rabid Islamists is spreading like an epidemic across the country. Several dozen videos have surfaced on social media wherein a mob of Islamists are seen harassing, abusing and assaulting Hindu-Muslim couples under the pretext of combating ‘Bhagwa Love trap.’

In the first part of our ongoing coverage of this organised crime, Opindia highlighted 30 documented cases of such attacks on Hindu men and Muslim women orchestrated by the latter’s radical co-religionists. The targeted attacks have not ceased and many more cases have come to light since OpIndia’s last report.

Islamists attack random Hindu-Muslim couples

On Thursday (May 25), a frenzied mob of Islamists attacked a Hindu man for sharing snacks with his Muslim classmate.

As per a report by Times Now, the incident took place at an eatery named Gopika Chaats in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka. The group of extremists spotted the duo dining together and confronted them at the food outlet.

Once the mob realised that the man accompanying the Hijab-clad Muslim woman was a Hindu, they began thrashing him publicly. The girl came to the victim’s rescue and tried to placate the mob but to no avail.

Despite telling them that she knew the Hindu boy well, the extremists reprimanded the Muslim girl for hanging out with him. According to Times Now, the girl has filed a complaint with the police, following which a case was registered in connection to the case.

The police have initiated a probe into the case and efforts are underway to nab the accused. Meanwhile, the girl was forced to issue an apology by her family.

A similar case came to the fore in the Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh on May 20, 2023.

The police have arrested four youths identified as Altamas, Mohammad Anas, Fardeen, and Bittu alias Aamir for abusing and attacking a Hindu youth (named Vinod), who was on his way to drop his Muslim friend’s sisters at their home.

The accused youths were acting as a group to deter Hindu men from roaming with Muslim girls. Following that, they would notify the Muslim girl’s family. All of the apprehended accused are Sherkot residents.

Meanwhile, police are looking for two more people who may have been involved in harassing the Hindu youth and the two Muslim girls.

In another case of a viral Facebook video, an extremist was seen harassing a Hindu man and a Muslim woman for hanging out together. “What is your name? Give me the number of your brother,” he was heard saying.

“What is your neighbour doing with you here? Are Muslim men dead…Why are roaming with him,” the Islamist warned. The other co-religionists accompanying him could be seen intimidating and manhandling the Muslim woman and the Hindu man.

The Islamist then grabbed the Hindu man by his shirt and shamed the woman for being a ‘namesake Muslim’ and hanging out with a non-Muslim. “He is my neighbour…If he is here with me, then, what is your issue?” the Muslim woman was heard as saying.

In a tweet on Monday (May 22), the Moradabad police informed that the Islamist was arrested in connection to the matter. A case has been registered at Bhojpur police station and necessary action is being taken in this regard.

In another case, a mob of Islamists was seen barging into a hotel and harassing a Hindu man for being in the same room as a Muslim woman. According to the Islamist propaganda account ‘Sasta Media’, the incident took place near the Bareilly Junction railway station.

A burqa-clad woman and her Hindu companion were ambushed by vigilantes at Ram Niwas Bagh in Jaipur city of Rajasthan. “Where are you from? Tell me…Wait, where are you going? Come here. You are bringing disrepute (to Islam).”

“Running away won’t help…This video is going viral,” the Islamist announced after recording the woman’s video without permission. The Hindu man, Rakesh, was threatened for hanging out with the Muslim woman. “Now, let me show you the way to the hospital,” he was warned by the Islamist.

In one video that has surfaced on social media, an Islamist was allegedly seen following a man travelling on a bike with a burqa-clad woman. He was seen asking the woman to remove her veil and show her face.

Upon hearing that, the victim tried to protect her identity. The incident is said to be from Hasanpur in the Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh.

In a case shared by one Mazhar Khan on Twitter, two Muslim women were harassed for travelling with a non-Muslim. A large crowd was seen surrounding a man and two burqa-clad women.

“Catch them…They are running away…Call their parents…Make a video,” the vigilante mob was heard saying. The situation had turned so volatile that the cops were called to the scene. The incident is said to have taken place at Gopali village in Deoband tehsil in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.

In another case, a mob of Islamists was seen stopping a Hindu man from travelling with a Muslim woman on a bike. The duo was gheraoed and intimidated by the mob

Meanwhile, a man in a skull cap was seen removing the helmet of the Hindu man. “If you do not have money, then, take it from us and go on a tempo,” a man in the crowd was heard directing the burqa-clad woman.

“I am not hiding my face,” the victim was heard telling the mob. We do not know what transpired at the scene after the video ended abruptly.

Some burqa-clad women were seen reacting strongly to the vigilantism of their co-religionists.

Video baand kar lo tameez mein reh ke…Oee baand kar isko…Nahin samajh aaraha (Stop recording me and stay in your limits…Stop this video… You don’t get it, do you),” the Muslim woman was heard as she approached the cameraman.

The video was posted by a popular radical Islamist Twitter handle (@AsjadR377), infamous for doxxing and anti-Hindu propaganda. He claimed that the video was from Rajasthan and that the ‘arrogant’ woman was caught with her ‘kafir’ (a derogatory word for non-Muslim) boyfriend.

Upon being chided for befriending a Hindu man, a burqa-clad Muslim woman told an Islamist to mind his business and leave them alone. “I am telling this to you again… Do not interfere in anyone’s life… Let them live the way they want and stop recording this video,” she was heard saying.

Islamic cleric fueling the ‘Bhagwa love trap’ conspiracy theory

The targeted attacks on inter-faith couples are being carried out on the basis of a conspiracy theory about Hindu youth entrapping Muslim women and turning them into non-Muslims. Opindia has reported that an Islamic cleric by the name of Sajjad Nomani has been at the helm of this dangerous trend.

The conspiracy theory started out in the form of a social media hashtag, which Islamists used to share videos of random hijab-wearing Muslim women and their male Hindu friends/ acquaintances and partners without their consent.

The posts were often accompanied by emotional messages and sought public help in identifying the couples. Soon after, social media was rife with videos of Islamist mobs ambushing random Hindu-Muslim couples.

This would then be followed by heated arguments, physical assault on the Hindu men, and even molestation of the Muslim women. The victims have been targeted on roads, restaurants, eateries, and even hotels.

Based on local reports and social media videos, OpIndia has compiled a total of 30 cases where Hindu men and Muslim women were attacked by extremists under the pretext of the ‘Bhagwa love trap.’

The attacks were carried out under the pretext that a sinister plot was underway to convert Muslim women to Hinduism by luring them into a love trap – a conspiracy theory espoused by Sajjad Nomani in multiple videos.

Slain BJP leader Praveen Nettaru’s wife loses her job thanks to the Congress govt in Karnataka which assumed office two weeks ago

The newly formed Congress government in Karnataka has cancelled deceased BJP worker Praveen Nettaru’s wife’s job.

Last year, the former BJP government provided a job to Praveen Nettaru’s wife Nuthana Kumari in the CM’s office after her husband was killed in an attack by PFI terrorists. She was posted as a senior assistant at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat office. Now, barely two weeks in office, the Congress administration has chosen to cancel her job.

Though Congress has not provided any reason for the action taken against her, media reports have quoted sources as saying that when governments change, temporary staff are generally asked to leave and no special consideration has been made for Nuthana Kumari.

According to reports, Nuthana Kumari was asked to not come to the office from Friday (May 26).

Notably, after Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s district head Praveen Nettaru was killed by Islamists on 26th July 2022, the then-BJP government had promised to provide his family with basic facilities like a house and a job to one of the family members as they lost the sole breadwinner of the house.

Keeping up the promise, the then CM Basavaraj Bommai offered Nettaru’s wife Nuthana Kumari a job in his office based on her education qualification. She was appointed as a senior assistant at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat office with a remuneration of Rs 30,350 per month. The BJP government had also given a house to Nettaru’s family.

Now, with the Congress party assuming power in Karnataka, CM Siddharamiah has decided to cancel Praveen Nettaru’s widow’s job that her family desperately requires for survival.

On July 26, Nettaru was hacked to death by Islamists. As per reports, the killers came on a bike in Bellari, Dakshina Kannada of Karnataka, in the late evening and attacked Nettaru with sharp weapons. Praveen Nettaru, who looked after a poultry business, was returning home when the attack happened. The assailants escaped after the attack. Praveen was rushed to the hospital, but he could not be saved.

Massive protests erupted after Praveen’s death in the city of Bellare and Sullia. While the outraged BJP Yuva Morcha members started to furnish mass resignations, the members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad called for a bandh concerning the safety of Hindus in the state of Karnataka.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had taken over the probe and arrested two accused named Zakir and Mohammed Shafiq in connection with the murder. Investigations revealed that the duo had links with the Islamist organisation Popular Front of India (PFI) and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).

After hours of frantic discussion between the Karnataka chief minister, deputy chief minister, and the senior central party leaders, including All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary K C Venugopal and Randeep Surjewala, the names of the 24 MLAs were finalised.

The two Karnataka leaders had previously met Sonia Gandhi for the first time following the creation of the state’s administration. The list received final approval from former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and incumbent president Mallikarjun Kharge.

The Siddaramaiah faction successfully lobbied for six of its allies to be included in the list while with seven legislators, the DK Shivakumar faction has a little edge over the former. The high command of Congress selected the remaining 11 ministers on the list.

Krishna Byregowda, K Venkatesh, Dinesh Gundu Rao, HC Mahadevappa, KN Rajanna, and Rahim Khan are seen as close to Siddaramaiah whereas DK Shivakumar group has Madhu Bangarappa, D Sudhakar, Cheluvarayaswamiy, Mankal Vaidya, MC Sudhakar, NS Boseraju, and Laxmi Hebbalkar.

Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar’s disagreements, which started over a few names, were settled after protracted conversations.

German tourist who stripped naked inside a Hindu temple in Indonesia sent for mental health treatment. Here is what happened

On Monday (May 22), a 28-year-old German tourist named Darja Tuschinski gatecrashed and stripped naked during a dance performance inside the Saraswati Ubud Temple in Bali province of Indonesia.

The accused woman ran past security guards at the temple and stripped naked after being denied a ticket to the show. She also attempted to enter the Hindu temple’s sanctum sanctorum but was stopped by the security guards. Darja Tuschinski was arrested by the local police and sent for mental health treatment.

A video of the naked German woman went viral online wherein she was seen walking past a group of dancers performing and striking poses. Later, she also opened the door of the temple’s sanctum sanctorum and posed as if she was praying. This left the audience shocked.

Tuschinski also walked naked in the guest areas of the resort where she was staying, according to Indonesian authorities. They did not, however, file charges against her.

The security guards took her off-stage and handed her over to the police. Tuschinski was accused by police of failing to pay bills at several hotels while on holiday in Bali. “The foreigner is depressed because she has no money to finance her stay in Bali,” said police spokesman Stefanus Satake Bayu.

According to the officer, the woman has mental health issues and became anxious about money during her extended tour in Indonesia. She was taken to a psychiatric hospital after she refused to board a flight home.

A purification ritual was conducted inside the temple. Notably, there has been a spike in the number of foreign visitors deported for acting or making gestures that are offensive to the religious sentiments of Balinese Hindus.

Alina, a Russian Yoga influencer, was deported to Moscow last year after a naked photo of her in front of a 700-year-old sacred banyan tree went viral and sparked outrage among local Hindus. Another Russian tourist Yuri was deported the same month for posting a photo of himself half-naked atop the sacred Mount Agung.

UK govt orders independent review into 2022 anti-Hindu violence in Leicester. Here is what we know so far

Months after Islamists ran riots in the Leicester City of England, the UK’s Secretary of State for Communities Michael Gove has ordered an independent review into the targeting of the Hindu community.

In a press release on Friday (May 26), the UK government informed that the independent review has been commissioned to probe the cases of vandalism, assaults and attacks on properties and places of worship in Leicester in September 2022.

Former Minister for West Midlands, Lord Austin, has been appointed as the Chair of the review. He will head an independent panel of experts to understand the origins of the unrest perpetrated by the Islamists in Leicester and ways to prevent such targeted attacks.

The panel will study the facts of the case, present its analysis and provide practical recommendations. It will also share ideas and proposals to strengthen local social cohesion among communities.

While speaking about the matter, Michael Gove remarked, “Leicester has a proud history of community cohesion, which makes last year’s disorder all the more shocking and upsetting. This review will build a thorough understanding of the specific events that took place and what can be learned from them.”

He emphasised that the UK government will not tolerate attempts to foster violence against people or religious groups. Lord Austin stated, “Communities living and working together have formed some of the most vibrant societies across the country and cities such as Leicester have proud histories of tolerance and diversity.”

Leicester City Mayor welcomes the decision of the UK government

“This makes the scenes we witnessed in Leicester last year all the more worrying and it is therefore so important that we listen to people in Leicester to get to the bottom of what happened and why,” he added.

Meanwhile, Leicester City Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby, had also welcomed the decision of the UK government. “I would want Leicester and other cities to be able to learn from its findings and to understand what needs to be done to ensure that our community cohesion is never again threatened in this way,” he claimed.

Interestingly, Solusby had met Islamist Majid Freeman, who was at the helm of the Leicester disinformation campaign and helped him set the narrative in favour of the perpetrators.

Think tank found no evidence of RSS, or Hindutva gangs in Leicester

In November 2022, a UK-based think tank debunked the false claims made by Islamists about the presence of ‘RSS terrorists’ and ‘Hindutva extremist organisations’ in Leicester city.

The disinformation was peddled by Islamists to rationalise their targeting of the Hindu community and camouflage their acts of aggression as violence perpetrated in self-defence.

The Henry Jackson Society (HJS), founded in 2005, released a 39-page report [pdf] on November 3 and concluded that the false allegations had exposed the Hindu community in Leicester to hate, vandalism and assault.

“Contrary to press reports at the time, the investigations did not find Hindutva extremist organisations operating in Leicester, but instead discovered a micro-community cohesion issue falsely presented as an issue of organised Hindutva extremism and terrorism,” the summary of the report read.

HJS emphasised, “It finds that false allegations of RSS terrorists and Hindutva extremist organisations active in the UK has put the wider Hindu community at risk from hate, vandalism and assault.”

“Some members of the Hindu community in Leicester imposed a voluntary curfew, some relocated to stay with family or friends until they felt safe to return, while still others were unable to return to work owing to fears for their personal safety,” it further added.
