0

Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered CBI probe in Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

Supreme Court further directed the CBI to also look into any other cases registered in future in relation to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The SC said that the FIR registered in Patna by Sushant’s father was correct.

The Supreme Court has asked Maharashtra police to assist the CBI. The Kai Po Chhe actor was found dead in his apartment on 14th June 2020. While initially it was reported to be suicide, later reports suggested there might be a foul play. The family has demanded the death be investigated to get justice for Rajput.

Pakistan’s slapgate: Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi slaps Imran Khan’s principal secretary. What we know so far

0

The Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi has reportedly slapped the Principal Secretary to Prime Minister, Azam Khan, after a heated argument.

According to the reports, Foreign Minister Qureshi and Azam Khan exchanged bitter words, after which the foreign minister slapped Khan.

It is reported that Qureshi wanted to meet the Prime Minister Imran Khan, however, outside the PM’s office, Azam Khan stopped Qureshi from entering the premises, which angered Qureshi and he reportedly slapped him.

According to Bol News, Azam Khan had reportedly stopped the foreign minister from entering Imran Khan’s office saying that the PM was attending a meeting, which infuriated the foreign minister.

The incident took place in Prime Minister’s Secretariat. Qureshi also allegedly raised strong complaints with Imran Khan for being denied entry. Following the heated argument, the Foreign Minister also reportedly approached the Prime Minister to complain about Khan’s behaviour.

On Tuesday, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had apparently invited Qureshi to mark two years of his term’s completion. However, Azam Khan had topped Qureshi claiming he had no information from the PM to let him in. An argument ensued, resulting in a slap in the face.

Foreign Minister Qureshi denies

The Foreign Office has rejected the report saying that no such incident has taken place.

Speaking to a media, Pakistan Foreign Minister reportedly dismissed the claims, saying that no such altercation happened between him and Imran Khan’s Principal Secretary Azam Khan.

Pakistan govt issues notice to media for reporting incident

Meanwhile, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has issued notices to media networks for airing a report about Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi allegedly slapping Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Azam Khan after a heated argument.

The PEMRA notice read that the claims by some media outlets was false and action will be taken if they do not appear in person and submit apology for airing the so called ‘news’.

At least, two media networks Abb Tak and Bol News have been issued notice by Pakistan’s media watchdog over the issue. The PEMRA has called the reportage as “false, fabricated and defamatory”.

Rajdeep, who had wanted Sushant’s family to ‘mourn quietly’, accuses their lawyer of holding a media trial, gets a ‘befitting reply’

Since Sushant Singh Rajput’s suspicious death on 14th June 2020, the actor’s life, and the discussions around his death has taken much media and social media space. Advocate Vikas Singh, who is representing Sushant Singh Rajput’s family on their case against Rhea Chakraborty, was called by India Today for an interview with Rajdeep Sardesai via video conference.

In just two minutes, Singh walked out from the interview after Sardesai pointed fingers on the family for holding a ‘media trial’ of Rhea Chakraborty. Ironically, Rajdeep, who has himself held multiple shows over the actor’s death and even keeps tweeting his opinions on it, accused the deceased actor’s family of holding a ‘media trial’.

Watch the clip here:

The video clip by India Today

Rajdeep accuses Sushant’s family of using media against Rhea

According to the video posted by India Today, as soon as the interview started, Rajdeep Sardesai asked Vikas Singh about his views about the ‘media trial’ against Chakraborty. He said, “charge today that is being made or I am going to make today is that you and Sushant’s family are conducting a media trial. You are using television studios, Vikas Singh, to put pressure on the judge, who tomorrow will give a verdict.”

He added that from last several weeks, #CBIforSSR is trending, Rhea herself has asked for CBI, but the manner this case is being handled is as if Rhea is already guilty. He further asked Singh, “if that is the way a trial should run in studios and surround sound.”

Sardesai’s allegations irked Vikas Singh who had agreed to the interview on the channel’s request. He said, “Well, Rajdeep if that is your complaint that I should not talk to you. I am not asking you to talk to me. It’s you who wanted to talk to me. If you don’t want to me, I have no issues in that.”

Rajdeep, clearly sensing that Vikas Singh may be calling out his baseless allegations, tried to salvage the situation. But Singh did not stop there. He added, “Mr Rajdeep Sardesai, please let me answer to your question. I am not interested in the media trial. I am not going to any media and asking them to take me on their channel. It is people like you who are after me to join your channel.”

Within seconds after that Singh removed the earpiece and moved out of the camera while Sardesai kept trying to convince him otherwise.

Rajdeep has been opposed to even a police inquiry on Sushant’s death

It is quite ironical for Rajdeep to accuse others of a ‘media trial’ on Sushant Singh case. After the actor’s death, when the Mumbai Police had first started an inquiry and Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had tweeted about it, Rajdeep was even opposed to a basic inquiry that is mandatory in all cases of unnatural death, including suicides.

Objecting to the basic inquiry, Rajdeep had tweeted that this is what happens when governments watch too much social media and they should instead let the family ‘mourn quietly’. A senior IPS officer had to remind him that  Section 174 of CrPC mandates an enquiry into every unnatural death.

Rajdeep’s tweet and Arun Bothra’s reply

Rajdeep and fake news

Recently Rajdeep was slammed by former president Pranab Mukherjee’s family for tweeting about his ‘death’ when he is, in fact under treatment after complicated brain surgery. Without verifying with the family, Sardesai had tweeted that the former president has passed away. In 2017, during an interview, Mukesh Ambani had told Sardesai that he does not take his reporting seriously.

Online video streaming platform Netflix has cancelled comedian Hasan Minhaj’s show ‘Patriot Act’. Minhaj took to Twitter to make the announcement.

Minhaj, whose parents are originally from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh in India, had earlier claimed that he was not allowed in Howdy Modi event last year in September because of his ‘critical’ views on PM Modi. However, the truth was he had not registered himself for the event as a media person and hence he could not enter with a camera. Minhaj was offered a seat in the audience but he refused.

Why did Netflix cancel Hasan Minhaj’s Patriot Act

The show debuted in October 2018 on Netflix and there have been six seasons. The final episode of the series aired on 28th June 2020. The show was cancelled by Netflix for reasons unknown.

Saudi Arabia snubs Pakistan as Army chief Bajwa returns without a meet with Crown Prince

In what seems to be a major humiliation for Pakistan, one of its close allies – Saudi Arabia has turned its back on the country after Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman refused to meet Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, who has flown to Riyadh to repair ties with Saudi Arabia.

According to the reports, Pakistan Army Chief Bajwa along with the head of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) General Faiz Hameed, is on a trip to Saudi Arabia amidst strained ties between the two countries. However, Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has returned empty-handed to Islamabad after Saudi Crown Prince decided to snub him.

Failing to secure a meet with Prince Salman, Bajwa finally met Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman and Saudi Arabia’s military chief of staff General Fayyad bin Hamid Al-Ruwaili. It is reported that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman intentionally snubbed Pakistan after Imran Khan-led government had threatened Saudi Arabia over its growing close ties with India.

Saudi did not ‘honour’ Bajwa

Addition to the snub, the Riyadh administration also cancelled to honour Pakistan Army Chief General Bajwa. Earlier, Saudi Arabia had announced that it would honour General Bajwa.

The Pakistan Army Chief’s visit to Saudi Arabia comes after a sharp turn in ties between the countries after Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had warned Saudi Arabia over latter’s refusal to act against India over Kashmir issue.

Pakistan Minister warned Saudi Arabia

Following the first anniversary of revocation of Article 370 by India, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had attacked Saudi Arabia for not obliging Pakistan over the issue of ‘organising’ a meeting of the Council of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers (CFM) on Kashmir in early February 2020.

In an interview, Qureshi had warned that if the OIC failed to meet Pakistan’s expectations, he would be “compelled to ask Prime Minister Imran Khan to call a meeting of the Islamic countries that are ready to stand with us on the issue of Kashmir and support the oppressed Kashmiris”.

The remarks made by Qureshi, who had threatened to split OIC, had angered Riyadh’s anger, who then had forced Pakistan to pay back USD 1bn prematurely and is demanding another USD 1bn of the loan.

The diplomatic blunder by Imran Khan has now resulted in deterioration of ties with Saudi, which has proved expensive for Pakistan. However, the Pakistan Miltary is desperate to improve the relationship with the Saudis.

“Wanted to turn India into an Islamic republic”, Delhi riots accused Asif Iqbal Tanha reveals how he engineered anti-CAA riots in Jamia

In a statement made to the Special Cell of the Delhi Police, Delhi riots accused Asif Iqbal Tanha has revealed that he wanted to turn India into an Islamic republic, reported Zee News. Asif, a Jamia Millia Islamia student and member of the Student Islamist Organization (SIO) since 2014, was arrested under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in May for purportedly being a part of a larger conspiracy behind the February riots in northeast Delhi.

Besides his desire to turn India into an Islamic country, he has made several other shocking revelations to the police. In his statement to the police, he revealed that he considered the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as anti-Muslim and therefore joined the students of Jamia Milia Islamia in opposing it. He also confessed to setting buses on fire under the garb of ‘peaceful protests.’

The Conspirator behind Jamia riots

As per the report, Asif Iqbal admitted to orchestrating a march of 2500-3000 people from the Gate no.7 of Jamia Millia Islamia on December 12. He revealed that Sharjeel Imam gave a provocative speech to encourage ‘protestors’ to execute a ‘chakka jam’ on December 13.

Asif confessed to organising a ‘Gandhi peace march’ on December 15 from the Jamia metro station to the Parliament via Zakir Nagar and Batla House. He stated that the purpose of naming it after Mahatma Gandhi was to lure more people into joining the march.

Asif Iqbal provoked people to break through police barricades

Reportedly, the Delhi police had set up barricades near the Surya Hotel to prevent the ‘protestors’ from surging forward. Asif Iqbal confessed to provoking people to break through the police barricades under the impression that the cops lacked the ‘guts’ to stop them.

However, his plans did not succeed as the police soon resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the unruly mob. The Jamia students then resorted to stone pelting, setting buses on fire, and creating mayhem on the streets of Delhi. As such, both the policemen and the ‘protestors’ were injured during the course of the march.

Jamia Coordination committee had students from AAP, Congress and Left

Asif Iqbal further revealed that the infamous Jamia Coordination Committee (JCC) was constituted after the violence that ensued between the ‘protestors’ and the police under the pretext of ‘Gandhi peace march.’

He informed that JCC had students from organisations such as the Communist-backed All India Students’ Association (AISA), Jamia Students Forum (JSF), Student Islamist Organization (SIO), Muslim Student Federation (MSF), Aam Aadmi party’s student wing Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS), Campus Front of India (CFI), and Congress student wing National Students’ Union of India (NSUI)

Asif Iqbal reveals abouts funds procured by JCC

The Jamia student stated that the Jamia Coordination Committee received funding from radical Islamist organisation such as Popular Front of India (PFI) and the Alumni Association of Jamia Millia Islamia (AAJMI).

In December last year, an Intelligence report shared by the Ministry of Home Affairs stated, “Some political parties (names withheld considering the gravity of the case) ignited the violent acts at various places, letting opportunities to sleeper cells of extremist and militant Islamic fundamentalist organisations, Popular Front of India (PFI) and Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).”

Asif Iqbal provoked common Muslims to weaponise violence

Asif Iqbal further admitted that he delivered provocative speeches at several places in the country including Kolkata, Kota, Lucknow, Kanpur, Ujjain, Indore, Jaipur, Patna, Sabzibagh, Araria, Samastipur, Ahmedabad. Reportedly, he urged common Muslims to protest against the Indian and not to shy away from engaging in violence, if such a need arose.

Asif added that JNU activist Umar Khalid had suggested the idea of blocking roads and disrupting traffic during the visit of US President Donald Trump to India. The plan of action was then executed by the likes of Meeran Haider and Safoora Zargar which later culminated into violent riots.

Shekhar Gupta’s website The Print spreads misinformation about Modi govt’s proposal to review marriage age for women, Health Ministry corrects them

The Ministry of Health has taken to Twitter Tuesday to calls out Shekhar Gupta’s leftist portal ThePrint for maliciously misrepresenting and distorting the Modi government’s proposal to review the legal marriage age for women which is currently 18. The Health Ministry opined that the article published by ThePrint is not only mischievous but is also far from the truth.

ThePrint, in its article, titled: “Why proposal to review marriage age for women has split Modi govt” dated August 18 (Tuesday), wrote that this decision had created a divide within the administration. The article claimed that the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare is against the proposal to raise the minimum age for marriage for girls. “The proposed review, however, has been opposed by the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, ThePrint has learnt”, the article by The Print said.

The article published by ThePrint today

But the ministry has refuted this claim and has clarified that they actually support the proposal, thereby saying that the portal by Shekhar Gupta had published fake news. The ministry also gave its reason for supporting the proposal to increase the marriage age for girls.

In its statement, the health ministry said that delaying the time of marriage would not only provide the girls more time to complete their education but would also prepare them physiologically and psychologically to shoulder the responsibility of marriage and children. It said that this would help young women to make autonomous decisions regarding their fertility preferences and care.

It further added that the proposal which the Modi government is mulling will give women increased access to economic independence, greater freedom of marital choices and reproduction freedom. It said that this could be a boon for both maternal and child health, attributing to the socio-economic upliftment of the women at large.

It said that the “supporters of the review say it may help keep the population in check and prevent women from being forced into early motherhood and its multiple complications, while opponents fear it will spell chaos”.

In one particularly damaging and confusing paragraph in the article, the leftist media portal wrote: “Critics of the idea cite the example of women who become sexually active at 18, and say any increase in the age of marriage may push more of them out of the formal reproductive healthcare framework, given the stigma sex still courts in India.”

Here the media house suggests that a lot of women become sexually active and get pregnant before 21 and the only way for them to access healthcare for pregnancy is marriage. It says that if the formal age of marriage if increased to 21, the “sexually active” women below that age would be devoid of the formal healthcare facilities. However, the media house seems to be viewing this from the wrong side. They are probably not realising, that a lot of women get pregnant before 21 because they are married early, not that they get pregnant that’s why they are married off before 21.

In most cases in India, pregnancy is the result of marriage, not the cause of marriage as The Print seems to be suggesting. Therefore, if the marriage age is increased to 21, pregnancy before 21 is likely to go down.

Meanwhile, PM Modi in his Independence day speech had said that the government will reconsider the minimum age for marriage of women. He said a committee has been set up to reconsider the minimum age for marriage of country’s daughters. We will take an appropriate decision after the committee submits its report, he added.

Shekhar Gupta’s ThePrint in its hate for PM Modi has many times maliciously resorted to publishing fake, embellished or distorted articles. Be it India’s effort to curb the coronavirus pandemic, or be it publishing fake news to denigrate the Indian Railways, or attributing fake quotes to the Finance Minister, the portal run by the president of Editors Guild has not left any stone unturned to malign the Modi government.

Mewat: Bajrang Dal activists rescue Raju, a minor boy from WB who was held hostage and tortured for the last five years by one Hassan Khan

0

In another sordid tale of atrocities on Hindus in Haryana’s Mewat, one Hassan Khan’s family residing in Mewat’s Goyla village falling under the jurisdiction of Taoru or the Tawadu police station had allegedly kept a minor Hindu boy named Raju in captivity and use to torture him for the last five years. Bajrang Dal activists led by conveyor Monu Manesar, who came to know about this, rescued Raju from the clutches of Hassan Khan and sent the minor back to his family.

Bagrang Dal conveyor Manu Manesar’s Faceboook post

According to reports, Hassan Khan’s family, who lured the minor boy with a job, kept Raju in extremely pathetic conditions. He was not provided with basic meals and clothes. The family members used to beat him and get him to work. He was periodically forced to embrace Islam.

Raju reached Goyla village in the hope of getting a job

Raju, who is now 18-19 years old, after being rescued narrated his ordeal. He said that it all started in 2015 when he reached Mewat with a few of his friends in search of work. He said that a tout had got them to Mewat, saying that he would get them to work in Mewat. In the name of a job, Hassan Khan’s family held Raju hostage and started torturing him.

According to the information received, Raju had his Aadhaar card as an identity, but the Hassan Khan’s family members tore his Aadhar card also.

One day when Raju went to a shop to buy grocery, he narrated his ordeal there. This information was passed on to a Bajrang Dal conveyor, who then, along with other activists, rescued the minor boy.

Manu Manesar informed that when they went to Hassan Khan’s house to rescue the boy, the family launched an attack on them. The Muslim family tried their best to prevent the Bajrang Dal activists from taking Raju Away, but failed. They managed to rescue Raju.

The Hindu organisation then contacted Raju’s family and sent his back to them. Raju’s family members, who had by now assumed that their child was dead, were elated to see their son return to them.

Mewat termed “mini Pakistan” for the atrocities on Hindus

We had earlier reported the harrowing condition’s under which Hindus, especially Dalits are living in Haryana’s Mewat. Haryana’s Mewat region has been termed as “Mini Pakistan” by a retired justice Pawan Kumar’s investigation team because of the atrocities meted out against Hindus, especially Dalits, by the majority Muslim community.

Abusive troll masquerading as journalist Swati Chaturvedi spreads misinformation by sharing cropped image to further Congress agenda

The Congress-left ecosystem has been trying to push its illusive conjecture of Facebook India being biased towards BJP and ‘journalist’ Swati Chaturvedi has become the latest to join the bandwagon. Taking to Twitter today, the self-proclaimed journalist, often known for her abusive rants on Twitter, shared an image of union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad with the senior Facebook India official Ankhi Das. She alluded that the minister met the Facebook official exclusively for a meeting.

Screenshot of Swati Chaturvedi’s now deleted Tweet

In her attempt to push the canard being spread by the Congress and its loyalists, Swati Chaturvedi in her now-deleted Tweet, craftily cropped the real picture to suit her agenda. A Twitter user who was quick to identify this, shared Swati Chaturvedi’s Tweet alongside the real picture, from the commercial photography site Getty, to point out the journalist’s treachery.

The truth was that the picture was taken when the Communication and Information and Technology Minister had met Facebook’s COO Sheryl Sandberg, it’s Global Public Policy Vice-President Marne Levine along with India Head of Public Policy Ankhi Das on July 3, 2020, in New Delhi. He had not met Ankhi Das alone, as alluded by Swati Chaturvedi.

False allegations being levelled at Facebook India and BJP government by the Congress ecosystem

This was nothing but Swati’s unsuccessful attempt to authenticate the recent false allegations being levelled at Facebook India and BJP government by the Congress ecosystem. After a report by WSJ dated August 14, alleged that officials of Facebook India were reluctant in taking steps against an alleged anti-Muslim post by a BJP linked account(s), the leftist media portals and liberals supported by the Congress ecosystem started using it to attack Facebook India and the BJP government.

Some users, including Nidhi, ex-journalist NDTV, left Facebook to mark protest. Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said in a tweet that he would raise the issue in front of the Parliamentary Committee. The leftist media portal, The Wire, went a step ahead to allege that Ankhi Das was a BJP supporter. Wayanad MP and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi had also posted a tweet supporting the claims made by the Wall Street Journal that Facebook is pro-BJP.

Swati Chaturvedi limits replies to her Tweet

After sharing the cropped image, Swati Chaturvedi also limited the reply on her official handle. By doing so she conveniently blocked Twitter users, apart from those who follow her or the ones she tagged in her Tweet from replying to her. When Twitter had announced this feature, many had expressed concerns that it will be used to spread misinformation and block correction, an apprehension which seems to be coming true.

Sharing cropped images or carefully edited videos, is a convenient tool which the leftist have used frequently to peddle fake news or their anti-BJP, anti-Hindu or anti-India narratives. Swati Chaturvedi herself had earlier tweeted a photoshopped image of Narendra Modi wearing an Arabic attire. On another occasion, she falsely claimed that Amit Shah was apparently sleeping in the Parliament. She has also been credibly accused of plagiarism and on another occasion, she sent OpIndia a defamation notice for reporting facts.

Safe saga of cropping, editing images and video by leftists

Besides, there are many other leftist media houses who have also shared such images and video to malign Modi government or shield Islamists. The Hindu, to help Rahul Gandhi in derailing the Rafale deal, had not only cropped the Rafale dissent note but also digitally manipulated it. ‘Nationalist’ channel Times Now had used a cropped video to accuse a BJP minister in Jharkhand of spreading hate in the name of Hindutva.

Moreover, the left-wing portal NDTV, while reporting the Delhi riots had carefully cropped images of the mosque to mislead the readers on the real nature of the anti-Hindu riots and tried to hide the images where it can be clearly seen that the local mosques had stored stones to attack the Hindus during the communal riots. The Indian Express cropped a photo of a skullcap to make the photo look secular. Self-proclaimed ‘fact-checking’ website AltNews’ co-founder Zubair had shared a cropped video claiming that some members VHP of Gonda, UP had raised some anti-national slogans. These are, however, just a few examples of selective journalism and misinformation

“Life should move on”, Supreme Court dismisses petitions to defer JEE and NEET examinations

0

The top court of the country on Monday junked a plea seeking postponement of JEE and NEET examinations saying that any further delay in the exams would result in the waste of “precious year” for the students. The rescheduled JEE Mains exams are slated to occur between Septemeber 1-6, while NEET-UG will take place on September 13.

Life should move on and examinations should continue to happen while following coronavirus guidelines: SC

A bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra observed that life has to move on despite the raging coronavirus pandemic in the country. “Life should move on. We have to go ahead. Precious one year of students will go to waste if the postponement of the exams is announced,” he said. The bench reasoned that even the courts are functioning during the COVID-19 outbreak and the examinations could also be conducted by following government-mandated guidelines.

Appearing for the National Testing Agency (NTA), Solicitor general Tushar Mehta guaranteed the bench that all precautionary steps will be taken by NTA while conducting the examinations. The court was hearing the pleas filed by some students for the cancellation of the July 3 notification of NTA, announcing the dates of the IEE (Main) and NEET exams. The petitioners argued that the examinations should be adjourned until such time when some semblance of normalcy is attained.

The petitions also sought the authorities to increase the number of examination centres. Furthermore, the petitioners alleged that the authorities disregarded the plight of lakhs of students from Bihar, Assam and the northeastern states, who were displaced due to the flood situation, and conducting exams via online or offline methods may not be feasible in such locations.
