Navy’s MARCOS, IAF’s Garud Commandos and Army’s Para SF to work under single division in Kashmir for counter-terror ops

0

The government of India has deployed combined special operations forces of the Army, Navy and Air Force to intensify anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir. As per reports, the newly raised division comprising of special-ops officers from all the three forces is to be called Armed Forces Special Operations Division (AFSOD)

ANI has reported quoting Defence Ministry sources that the three special forces, Armys Para(special forces), Air Force’s Garud commandos and Navy’s Marine Commandoes (MARCOS) will be deployed under the new division in Jammu and Kashmir.

It is notable here that the special forces had been operating in Kashmir earlier too. But this will be the first time they are being deployed under a common division, AFSOD, and will work together.

The AFSOD is placed under a serving Major General of the India Army. As per an India Today report, the troops have been deployed mainly in Srinagar and other areas around it.

While Garud Commandoes have been deployed around the Lolab and Hajin areas, MARCOS have been operating in and around the Wular lake.

The report also states that the induction of the forces has already been started and Army’s Para commandoes have already been operational in traditional terror hotbeds.

The AFSOD will work in the valley for counter-terror operations along with the Army’s Rashtriya Rifles units.

10 Indian women and children, families of ISIS terrorists mostly from Kerala, among 900 who surrendered in Afghanistan: Report

0

Among the 900 ISIS terrorists who have surrendered to Afghanistan authorities, a report in the Hindustan Times says that there are 10 women and children, who are families of Indian terrorists. Most of these 10 women and children belong to Kerala. The 900 ISIS terrorists have surrendered in a span of a fortnight.

Reportedly, the terrorists have surrendered in the Eastern province of Nangarhar, where the Afghan national security forces are conducting operations against the ISIS. The operations started on the 12th of November against the terror outfit. 93 terrorists, that included several Pakistanis, had surrendered only hours after Afghanistan’s offensive against the terror outfit began on the 12th of November.

According to reports, several terrorists from Kerala travelled to Afghanistan since 2016. Some had even converted to Islam to join the terror outfit. Many of them take their families along with them. The 10 women and children who have surrendered are believed to be the family members of ISIS terrorists from India who travelled to Afghanistan. Officials have reportedly said that they are gathering information on all the terrorists who have surrendered.

It is also being reported that the 10 women and children, the families of terrorists mostly from Kerala, have been shifted to Kabul. A special team from the National Directorate of Security, the Afghan intelligence agency, is gathering details of the people who have surrendered.

Interestingly, it was reported recently that the Khorasan group of ISIS, or the ISIS-K, had attempted a suicide attack in India last year. This was claimed by a top US official. The ISIS-K operates in South Asia and according to Russel Travers, Acting Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, Office of Director of National Intelligence, ISIS-K concerns the US the most among all of its other branches.

“Of all of the branches and networks of ISIS, ISIS-K is certainly one of those of most concern, probably in the neighbourhood of 4,000 individuals or so,” Travers had said in response to a question from Maggie Hassan, the junior Senator from New Hampshire. “They have attempted to certainly inspire attacks outside of Afghanistan. They attempted last year to conduct a suicide attack in India. It failed,”  he had added.

Travers further said that two years ago, ISIS-K had made an attempt to perpetrate an attack on US soil but the FBI prevented it. Furthermore, he told the lawmakers that by any calculation, there are more radicalized individuals now than there were at the time of 9/11.

Days after ISIS chief-terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed during the raid conducted by the US military in northwest Syria, Iran Foreign Minister Javad Zarif had said in an interview to India Today that the terror organisation is shifting its base to Afghanistan.

He had said that the recent attacks which were carried out in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan border were done by ISIS while operating out of Afghanistan. The deadly gun battle left at over a dozen people dead.

Zarif said that his government is in regular touch with the Indian agencies reprising about the updates of ISIS. The terror group shifting base to Afghanistan also poses a threat to other South Asian countries like Pakistan, Russia and China. “This (fight against terrorism) is an issue that can unite all of us,” Zarif said, asserting all these countries need to unite to fight the threat emanating from the terror group.

Madras HC orders temple lands to remain in possession of deities, halts state govt’s efforts to handover land to encroachers

The Tamil Nadu Government’s long-drawn effort to acquire the temple lands to allegedly hand it over to the squatters has been impeded. In fact, the DMK in its 2016 election manifesto had also promised to hand over temple lands to the squatters.

Portions of the temple land in Tamil Nadu, whose worth runs in thousands of crores, will continue to remain in God’s possession after the Madras High Court on Friday stayed the operation of a government order, which was issued by the Revenue Department on August 30.

The August 30 controversial government order proposed to cede the encroached pieces of temple land to the illegal squatters. The Tamil Nadu government had proposed to give patta to the poor families who have been squatting on temple lands for a ‘considerable period of time’ after compensating the department for the land.

Interestingly, the Tamil Nadu government has been saying that the govt would compensate a department of the govt before giving away Temple land to squatters, while not even considering the temple itself as a stakeholder.

Meanwhile, staying a part of the August 30 GO and seeking details about the number of encroachers, the division bench comprising Justice M Sathyanarayanan and Justice N Seshasayee, directed the government to spell out measures that would be adopted by the state government to implement its order without having any details on the encroachments of the 44,000-odd temple lands in Tamil Nadu.

Justices M Sathyanarayanan and N Seshasayee said although the GO had been issued “with an avowed objective of providing housing facilities to homeless encroachers of lands belonging to the government, local bodies and temples, an attempt to regularise encroachers and sanctify encroachments were more likely to denude temples of their properties.”

Authoring the interim order, Justice Seshasayee said: “Any act that involves loss of properties of a temple for purposes other than those intended for the benefit or necessity of the temple, may well contravene the spirit behind Section 34 of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act of 1959 (which permits sale of temple properties if it turns out to be beneficial).”

During the hearing in the Madras HC, the judges wondered if the AIADMK government would fix a price for all the temple lands that it plans to acquire before it hands them over to the encroachers.

The state government has, however, been trying to wriggle out of this tight corner by saying that their order is not a blanket order and the allocation would be done on a case-by-case basis. It said its order was aimed at providing lands for ‘eligible’ poor families that were residing on temple lands.

In September 2019, the Madras High Court had slammed the Tamil Nadu government for its decision to give away temple lands. “Technically, the state is trying to help encroachers by making the encroachments legal”, a division bench of Justice M Sathyanarayanan and Justice N Seshasayee had said.

However, despite the High Court observations, the Tamil Nadu government, who has been hellbent on giving away thousands of acres of Temple land to illegal squatters had reiterated its position in October 2019 to issue pattas to people squatting illegally on temple land.

It had filed a counter-affidavit in High Court that categorically states that the Tamil Nadu government has decided to give patta to illegal squatters on Temple lands.

According to reports, temples in Tamil Nadu own close to six lakh acres and three lakh square feet of property. In the last five years, at least 50,000 acres have been swallowed by illegal encroachers. Besides their lands and properties, temples in Tamil Nadu have also been stripped of their valuable idols.

Recently, the Hindu devotees had put up a massive protest in Tirupur after local AIADMK MLA S Gunasekaran organised a public hearing with the illegal squatters who had bought temple lands.

Delhi Pride Parade: ‘Kashmir maangey azadi’, ‘Bharat Mata wants girlfriend’ slogans raised at the queer parade

‘Azadi’ slogans were raised at the Delhi Queer pride parade held in the national capital yesterday.

In a video clip shared by journalist Bodhisattva Sen Roy, one can hear the chants of ‘Kashmir maangey azadi’, ‘tum police bulao, tum goli chalao, lathi maaro, tum goli chalao… azadi’.

Read: Dear fellow LGBTQ members, this was a hate parade, not a pride march

Placards which read ‘Bharat Mata wants a girlfriend’ were also spotted at the Delhi Queer Pride parade.

And some more political slogans targeting the Prime Minister.

Apparently, mocking the Prime Minister during gay pride parade is a ‘perfect response’.

And of course, ‘saffron’ is colour of hate.

This is not a new phenomena. Every time it is the same rhetoric. Which is ironic since the historic judgement where the Supreme Court on Sept 6th 2018 decriminalised homosexuality by partially striking down the colonial era provisions of Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code during the Narendra Modi-led NDA government. Had BJP government opposed the case in the Supreme Court as earlier governments had been doing, the ruling would have never come.

How Indira Gandhi gave away Malcha Mahal in middle of Delhi to mentally ill woman because she didn’t want to upset Muslims of Lucknow

What if one day you realise that the fables you had heard of ‘humble royals’ living in downtrodden ‘hunting lodge’ doubled up as palace in middle of Delhi were imposters? Well, if this New York Times article is to be believed, Indira Gandhi got played by a mentally ill woman because she didn’t want to upset the Shia Muslims in Lucknow.

As it so happened, in 1970s, one woman gets off at the New Delhi Railway Station with her two children and lodged herself in the VIP waiting room there. The woman, Wilayat, announced she is the Begum of Oundh and as royalty. She had arrived in Delhi with her two children ‘Princess Sakina’ and ‘Prince Raza Mahal’. She claimed to be related to the Nawab of Oundh, Wajid Ali Shah, who had a ‘colourful life’. Wilayat demanded a share in property of the Nawab of Oundh.

The then Uttar Pradesh government also intervened as Shia Muslims may take an offence to the ‘Begum’ being lodged at a railway station VIP guestroom instead of a ‘palace’.

To up her bargain, Wilayat would reach out to foreign correspondents who would lap up her story about being a royalty now living at railway station. In late 70s, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi suggested Wilayat chooses one of the ‘lesser known’ monuments of Delhi as her new home. Negotiations ensued between Wilayat and the government of India. In 1984, ‘Begum’ and her children ‘picked’ Malcha Mahal as their new home. It was the hunting lodge of Firozshah Tughlak. Stories were floated that in 1993, the ‘Begum’ committed suicide by swallowing a crushed diamond.

Malcha Mahal in New Delhi’s Chanakyapuri area is a Tughlak era hunting lodge which was given away by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to a woman who landed in Delhi out of nowhere in the 1970s and announced that she is the ‘Begum of Oundh’. It has been widely reported as the ‘humble abode’ of the royal family Oudh and now stands abandoned after ‘Prince Cyrus’ aka ‘Prince Ali Raza’ died in 2016.

Till now it was widely believed that Wilayat’s deceased husband was a direct descendant of Wajid Ali Shah, Nawab of Oundh. That is, till New York Times’ Ellen Barry decided to out the ‘Begum’ and her children as imposters.

Turns out, Wilayat was married in Lucknow and after partition, in the violence that ensued, her husband decided to move the family to Pakistan. When Wilayat’s husband died, still not having recovered from moving out of Lucknow, Wilayat started becoming more and more volatile. At one point, she accosted Pakistani Prime Minister and even slapped him (Ellen does not name which one).

To save Wilayat from a long jail term, she was put up in mental hospital in London for six months where she was given electroshock therapy. She was labelled ‘mental’ and given injections. Once she was out of mental hospital, she gathered her things, two out of four children and hopped on to a train to New Delhi where she announced herself as ‘Begum of Oundh’.

Wilayat lands in New Delhi in the 1970s, no documents are verified by the Indian administration. There are no visa checks for herself and her two of the four children who came back. Was there no record of visas and passports of the Pakistanis coming in? She just waltzed into India and announced she’s royalty, and Indira Gandhi government took her word for it. She stayed at the railway platform for years before she moved to Malcha Mahal. No questions asked.

And the entire Indian administration did not see any reason to verify her claims. Perhaps offending the Begum of Oundh, who never was one, and in turn the Shias was sacrilege for Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Normalising Paedophilia? American talk show wants to know people’s opinions about ‘compulsory self-touching lessons’ for children

0

The Talk, a program of CBS News in the USA, recently asked a distasteful question on social media about children being given ‘compulsory self-touching lessons’. In a tweet posted on the social media platform, it said, “Children as young as six are to be given compulsory self-touching lessons that will teach them about touching or ‘stimulating’ their own genitals.” Then, it asked people what they thought.

As expected, people on Twitter were disgusted by the tweet and labeled it child abuse. However, The Talk didn’t really say exactly where children were being given lessons on masturbation. After digging through the internet, we found a report by Daily Mail from September, 2019 in which it was reported that “Children as young as six are being taught about touching or ‘stimulating’ their own genitals as part of classes that will become compulsory in hundreds of primary schools.”

Read:

It is apparently as part of a new education program ‘All About Me’ program that is supposed to be rolled out in Britain next year. The report said, “All About Me is being rolled out across 241 primaries by Warwickshire County Council and could be adopted by other local authorities next year as part of the Government’s overhaul of Relationship and Sex Education (RSE).”

People on social media are universally against the move and have offered sharp critique in replies to the tweet. They have also said that law enforcement authorities should keep a strict watch on anyone who volunteers for the job.

Some also pointed towards the fact that the people in charge of The Talk’s social media account even felt it was necessary to ask the question.

The tweet by The Talk got devastatingly ‘ratioed’. Being ratioed refers to a tweet that has got a lot more replies than it has retweets. It has been observed to be a good indicator of blunder tweets. The logic behind the term that has grown immensely popular on the internet is this: If the number of replies to a tweet vastly outpaces its engagement in terms of likes and retweets, then something has gone horribly wrong. For the current tweet, as of the time of writing this report, the tweet received 1,300 retweets and over thirteen thousand replies.

In recent times, a troubling trend has emerged in the West. Progressives appear to be working overtime to normalize paedophilia. A new strategy that has been adopted to normalize paedophilia is the invention of the term “Virtuous Paedophiles”. According to the narrative, ‘virtuous paedophiles’ are those who admit their paedophile tendencies and yet never act upon their urges. It has also been argued that society contributes to sex crimes against children by marginalizing and blaming paedophiles.

The psychology of ‘Woke Culture’: How bitter individuals weaponise resentment to perpetuate a cancerous narrative

In the 21st century, social media has revolutionised public discourse. It has had a tremendous impact on the manner in which people interact with each other, how they conduct themselves and it has even transformed the manner in which government functions. However, not all the impacts have been positive. And if some of the issues are not addressed, it has the potential of causing irreparable damage to social institutions.

Tribalism is a reality of human existence. Man is a social animal, it’s an inherent desire for us to form groups and advance the interests of the in-group, often at the expense of the out-group. Religious communities, nations, sampradayas, all of them are examples of such groups that humans have created during the course of history. Indeed, the story of human civilization is one of different groups of humans coming together to form a cohesive society. Of course, groups are not exclusive to humans. It’s feature of the animal world too.

One distinct feature of groups is that whenever two diverse groups interact with each other, it often leads to conflict. There are essentially five types of social interaction between groups: Cooperation, competition, conflict, assimilation and accommodation. Over time, groups have figured a way to coexist with each other but it isn’t one that hasn’t been solved conclusively and it is extremely unlikely that it will ever be resolved. Thus, we still see wars and communal clashes and other such violence.

Needless to say, social interaction is dependent on proximity between the groups. Groups will fight only when they are in a situation where they can, or have to, interact with each other. And this is where social media has contributed greatly towards eliminating the distances that naturally occur between groups. In the real world, one can afford to not interact with a certain kind of individuals. Social media does not provide such luxury. The boundaries that naturally exist between individuals simply do not exist on social media platforms.

Another important aspect of group dynamics is the imposition of ‘purity’. Every group demands that certain rules and regulations be followed and there’s a certain ‘code of conduct’ that’s mandatory for every member. A member is also expected to endorse the positions advocated by the group, whether the positions were arrived at with his or her consent or otherwise. And it is in this aspect of groups that manifests itself as ‘Woke Culture’ in social media.

‘Woke Culture’, basically, is ‘liberalism’ taken to its logical conclusion. Liberalism, itself, is a western memeplex that’s deeply embedded in Abrahamic doctrines. It is for this reason that we see this phenomenon mostly in urban areas where the youth of this generation have been most exposed to western memes. Before the advent of social media, there was a significant time-lag that existed between liberal culture in India and that in the West. However, with the advent of social media, this time-lag has been eradicated as ideas can be now transported across the world in seconds.

Thus, it didn’t take too long for ‘Woke Culture’ to arrive in India after it was invented in the West. However, social structures in India are still strong. Therefore, we see relatively less of its impact in the real world. But on social media, we can very well see what ‘Woke Culture’ has led to. For instance, the Indian #MeToo movement which brought out very real instances of sexual harassment and abuse also led to a point where the central figures of the movement are suffering a great lack of credibility a year later.

The developments of the past few days have come as a revelation to most people but for those who have observed ‘Woke Culture’ with a keen eye, it wouldn’t have come as a surprise. Woke Culture does make a virtue of degeneracy. But the thing is, when a culture celebrates degeneracy and makes a virtue out of it, people who are involved with it are certain to not be paragons of virtue.

The foundation of ‘Woke Culture’ is victimhood, whether real or feigned. It has promoted a culture where everyone wants to be a victim and when everyone wants to be a victim, a significant section of them will naturally invent crimes to suit their agenda. It’s a great injustice to actual victims who have very good reasons to feel victimized. They deserve every bit of our empathy and compassion. However, in Woke Culture, people who do not deserve it see the empathy and compassion that is accorded to victims as an incentive to pretend to be victims themselves. It’s narcissistic and immensely selfish.

Conversely, it’s natural for every human being to want to be a hero. Heroes are showered with great adulation and they stand tall at the pinnacle of glory. The entire world lies at their feet. However, in order to become a hero, people have to perform heroic feats. People who are deeply involved with ‘Woke Culture’ are no different. They want to be heroes, they seek glory, they crave for attention and adulation. And as it so happens, when people are not capable of achieving heroic feats, they will invent demons themselves which they will then slay in order to portray themselves as heroes.

In Woke Culture, what we see is an unhealthy marriage between victimhood and the urge to become heroes in the Church of Liberalism officiated by the priest of Social Media. It does take great courage for a real victim to speak out against his or her tormentor. The misery they have to endure is truly traumatic and when they manage to conquer their fear and speak out, it epitomizes courage. In Woke Culture, it is the reverse. People who want to be heroes invent causes of victimhood in order to tell the world that they have slain a great many demons. It’s a perversion of the natural order.

Of course, there are very real victims in Woke Culture as there are a great many perverts. In Woke Culture, as a phenomenon that operates largely through social media, people do not have to act in any particular way to be ‘Woke’. They just have to say the right things, advocate for very particular positions in public in order to be considered part of the ‘in-group’ and demonstrate in-group solidarity during interactions with out-groups. This makes identifying the real victims in Woke Culture extremely difficult.

Due to the conduct of the ‘Woke Culture’, the greatest people who have been hurt are the actual victims. They say, ‘Believe All Women!’. ‘Woke Culture’ took it several steps forward. And it’s a religious belief that everyone adheres to resolutely. If someone even asks the mildest of questions, they are silenced and abused and shamed. Thus, other members of the group automatically fall in line with the narrative. In the process, lives are destroyed and ultimately, it’s the credibility of actual victims that suffers the most as the threshold of evidence rises many times over.

Read: Twisted sense of humour? AIB edits scene from movie, makes minor girl smoke weed in ‘spoof video’

Another great travesty of ‘Woke Culture’ is the fact that mental illness has been romanticized. It’s unequivocally true that ‘Woke Culture’ has attached a sense of romance to mental illness which can have devastating repercussions. Sadly, we also see people who pretend they can get with atrocious conduct just because they are ‘depressed’. Depression isn’t an excuse for disgraceful conduct, nor is it a stick that should be used for beating strangers online. And yet, this is exactly what we observe in Woke Culture.

In short, Woke Culture is ‘Weaponized Resentment’. People who are part of this are deeply bitter individuals who suffer from great resentment when they see others happier than they are. They blame others for their own shortcoming and then attempt to make others feel guilty in order to acquire what they wish. They truly feel that others are responsible for the mess they are in and from their perspective, everything is justified in their battle against them. Whatever it takes.

The object of resentment is usually an out-group, such as Men, Brahmins, right-wing or whatever the mood dictates on that particular day. And when someone from the in-group disagrees with them, they are accused of sympathizing with the out-group or worse, of being an out-group mole who is working towards undermining the in-group. Thus, anyone else who might disagree with them is either silenced or convinced of the accusations and comes to the conclusion that only the out-group could ever disagree with the stated proposition.

It’s important to understand here that ‘Woke Culture’ can manifest itself only in a society where ‘liberalism’ already rules the roost. That is, it can only manifest itself in a hyper-individualistic society. When there’s no ostensible group identity for people to attach themselves to, they will naturally invent others group markers. People want to belong, it’s an innate human desire. And when social institutions have been destroyed, it’s natural for such groups to develop.

Thus, with the advent of social media, we see a vast network of people working towards the perpetuation of this toxic culture for no other reason than the fact that these bitter individuals are part of the in-group. The liberal beliefs of the group allowed bitter individuals to hijack it in order to normalize an extremely toxic culture. And they were in no position to resist as the individuals concerned advocated only a more puritan version of their own beliefs. It is all a downward spiral from there which eventually ends with lives being destroyed for no good reason.

In all of this, it’s important to understand that social media has played a huge role in the development of Woke Culture. The internet has broken barriers but in doing so, it has also unleashed chaos that is kept in check by numerous boundaries in the real world. It is quite obvious that humans haven’t yet developed the ability to counter the adverse effects of the internet. And it’s unclear as yet whether such a thing is even possible.
