An infant stolen from Mathura Junction railway station’s platform 9 in the early hours of August 24 has been found at the residence of a Municipal councillor in Firozabad. The councillor and her husband have been arrested by police. The child was traced with the help of CCTV recordings.
When the authorities apprehended the child’s kidnapper using CCTV footage, he acknowledged that the child had been sold to a couple in Firozabad who were desperately looking for a son.
Radha, a native of Fariha’s Parakham village, Mathura, was sleeping on Mathura Junction’s platform number 9 early on August 24 when her infant child was kidnapped. When she got up, she looked everywhere for the child, but she couldn’t find it, so she reported it to the Government Railway Police (GRP). Following that, the GRP inspected the CCTV footage and saw a man stealing the baby and walking away. Following that, the police filed a case of child theft and began looking for the culprits.

The police also shared the CCTV video on social media in order to track down the toddler and requested people to contact them as soon as they know anything about the child. After some time, the authorities apprehended a lady and some men who disclosed that the infant had been sold in Firozabad. Following this, the Mathura Police SOG stormed the residence of Municipal Corporation Councilor Vinita Agarwal and her husband Krishna Murari Agarwal in the Firozabad South PS area, in the dark of night and rescued the baby. As per reports, Vinita Agarwal and her husband are both in BJP.
The couple had reportedly told the police that they did not know the child was ‘stolen’, and were given the child by a nurse. However, reports mention that the neighbours and acquaintances of the couple knew that they had ‘bought’ the child.

Vinita and Krishna Murari Agarwal have a 12-year-old daughter. A report in Dainik Bhaskar says that the couple was childless and the daughter is the child of a relative that they have adopted. Last night, the police arrested the entire family on charges of purchasing a stolen infant. Krishna Murari Lal Agarwal, a former city councillor, owns and runs OL Jewelers, a profitable jewellery store.
Earlier yesterday, Ankita Kumari, who was being treated after a neighbour named Shahrukh Hussain poured petrol on her and set fire to her four days ago, died in a hospital. Ankita Kumari, a student studying in class 12, became the victim of unrequited love after she refused the advances of Shahrukh Hussain, who set her on fire for rejecting him.
The horrific attack on Ankita happened on Tuesday (August 23) morning in Dhumka in Jharkhand. Ankita had told the police in a critical state that her neighbour, Shahrukh, used to harass her every day. He used to approach her and seek her friendship. He had also obtained her phone number and used to call her repeatedly, asking her for friendship. When Ankita chastised him for not stopping, he threatened to kill her.
Ankita informed her father of this on Monday. When she woke up the next morning, her body was in flames as she ran up to family members who attempted to extinguish the fire. Her family then hurried her to the hospital. It was found in the hospital that Ankita had suffered severe burns. It turned out that Shahrukh went to Ankita’s house on Tuesday morning, poured petrol on Ankita through a window when she was asleep in her bed and torched her, and then fled from the scene.
Shahrukh was subsequently arrested by the police. A video of him being arrested has gone viral on social media in which he is seen smiling unrepentantly and having no regrets about the heinous crime he had committed.
The incident should have provoked angry reactions from the Left, ceaseless debates, and undying outrage in the form of lengthy op-eds in leading publications over how a Hindu girl was killed by her spurned Muslim pursuer. But it did not spark any kind of outrage among the Left. However, perhaps since the perpetrator was a Muslim and the victim Hindu, the media organisations and elite commentariats who like to comment on every issue under the sun conveniently gave a pass to the horrifying tragedy that fell upon Ankita. Many mainstream media organisations and left-wing media personalities have so far not reported on the death. Those who did, most likely grudgingly, resorted to obscurantism, carefully hiding the identities of the perpetrator and the victim in their headline and using a more generalist title to report about the incident. India Today published a report, representing Shahrukh Hussain as one ‘Abhishek’.
However, there is little surprise to this enduring deceit that has come to define the Left and the media ecosystem controlled by them. Unabashed hypocrisy has become a hallmark of the Indian left intelligentsia. They would continue to harp on the faith of the perpetrator should they be a Hindu and the victim a Muslim or a Christian. In that case, they would hunker themselves to weave fictitious stories about the “persecution of minorities” and “rising intolerance” in the country even though the crime committed had no religious connotation. The same standards are not applied when the identities of the perpetrators and the victims are reversed.
This dichotomy stems from a bloated sense of entitlement among ‘liberals’, who often subject others to higher standards of noble beliefs and virtues while refraining from holding themselves to the same rigorous standards. They labour under a mistaken belief that they are a cut above the world, with a false sense of the notion that they are exempted from being evaluated by the same token as they use to judge others.
For instance, the left-leaning liberals had recently displayed unmatched alacrity in criticising Nupur Sharma for her remarks on Prophet Muhammad in a TV News debate. The same lot that moralised over how Sharma was wrong for her comments, effectively painting a target on her back and granting legitimacy to the ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ threats issued by Islamists, made a shameless volte-face when Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair, whose dog-whistling made Sharma the target of Islamists, was arrested for hurting sentiments of Hindus with his disparaging posts against Hindu Gods and Goddesses.
They defended Zubair, claiming that his arrest was the suppression of free speech in India. Some of them even floated the theory that Zubair was arrested because he was a Muslim. The fact that Hindus such as Kanhaiya Lal and Umesh Kolhe became the victim of his dog-whistling was conveniently swept under the rug by the Left eager to shield Zubair and project him as a victim of state repression. That Nupur Sharma and those supporting her faced ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ threats by Islamist mob was also paid no heed to by the Left that outrages over even most innocuous statements made by Hindu leaders or BJP politicians.
The deaths of Lal and Kolhe, who were killed by Islamists for social media posts supporting Nupur Sharma, were met with silence and indifference from the Left, with some of the members even holding the former BJP spokesperson responsible for their killing. The treachery seems to have persisted in Ankita Kumari’s case as well, where the mainstream media has abstained from focusing on the religious identities of the perpetrator and the victim as it undermines their meticulously crafted propaganda of minority victimhood.
Intersectionality: The significance of mentioning the identities of victims and perpetrators
While several media houses and Left intelligentsia are driven by their motive to break the Indian society, the rationale behind highlighting the identity of Muslim victims has a separate origin altogether. The theory essentially believes that the victim would have been at a lower risk had her identity not been that of a Muslim and hence, mentioning the religious identity is essential as even if the crime is not motivated by religious animosity, the victim was at a higher risk by virtue of his/her religion. This sociological concept is called as ‘Intersectionality’, the point where multiple identities of an individual meet.
Intersectionality is thus a theoretical framework for understanding how aspects of one’s social and political identities (e.g., gender, race, class, sexuality, disability, etc.) might combine to create unique modes of discrimination. So when a Muslim victim is identified by his/her identity, it is an acknowledgement of the fact that his/her faith has played a role in the discrimination or atrocities meted out on him/her. In addition to this, in such cases, the identity of the perpetrators also holds significance since the crime is committed on the premise of existing religious inequities. The media houses, therefore, fall over themselves in case the perpetrator of such atrocities happens to be Hindus.
Gaslighting Hindus into guilt-tripping
By contrast, they refrain from placing emphasis on identities when the victim is a Hindu and the perpetrator of the crime is a Muslim. When the non-left highlights the identities in such cases, the allegation that is often levelled by left ideologues and media organisations is that non-left is blatantly ‘communalising’ an incident. This is nothing but a shameless attempt at gaslighting Hindus into guilt-tripping, into making them believe that raising voices against atrocities meted out on them could touch off communal conflagration for which they would alone be held responsible.
Apparently, as per the Indian left’s understanding, incidents are communalised only when the perpetrators happen to be Muslims and victims Hindus. When it is the other way around, the media organisations feel no qualms in harping on the religious and caste identities of the victims and assailants, to insinuate how minorities are attacking people from the majority community like they would normally do when the identities of the victim and the perpetrator is reversed.
Behind this transparent hypocrisy, lies the nefarious aim of the Left, who in connivance with their supporters in the media have concocted the farce of “perpetual threat facing minorities in India” to prevent the consolidation of the Hindu majority and thereby undermine their outsize influence on the country’s electoral politics. The Left works studiously to reinforce the narrative that Muslims, Christians, and other minorities in India perpetually remain under threat as long as the Modi-led BJP is at the Centre.
The Left also gains from the consequence of such an insidious narrative, which helps to instil fear of persecution among minorities, polarise and consolidate them against the majority and political parties that seek to end the decades-old tradition of appeasing minorities and treating them with kid gloves.
To prevent this trope from falling apart, the media organisations consciously refrain from invoking religious identities when a Muslim perpetrator is found to have committed an act of brutality against a Hindu as witnessed in Ankita Kumari’s barbaric murder when Shahrukh Hussain decided to end the life of a Hindu girl who exercised her agency and rebuffed his advances.
On Monday (August 29), BJP MP Rama Devi slammed the family of Tejashwi Yadav for allegedly orchestrating the murder of her husband Brij Behari Prasad. She made the remarks in response to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s threat to teach BJP leader Nityanand Rai a lesson. Yadav had used the phrase ‘Thanda Kar Denge’ in a press conference to say how he and his party deal with political opponents.
While speaking to news agency ANI, she said, “I know several people who the RJD has silenced by murder. My husband, Brij Behari Prasad, was one of them. They feared that he might become the Chief Minister of the State.”
“I am here to respond to these people. They (Tejashwi Yadav and his family) must be ashamed of themselves. The public can see through their nepotism,” Rama Devi added.
#WATCH | Bihar: While speaking on Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav’s “thanda karna” remark, BJP MP from Sheohar, Rama Devi alleges the Yadav family’s hand behind the murder of her husband Brij Behari Prasad. She says, “…Yes, they made someone do it. There’s no doubt about it…” (28.8) pic.twitter.com/DXbptGbWci
When pressed about the Yadav family’s alleged role in murdering her husband, Rama Devi clarified, “Yes, they killed my husband. There is no doubt about it. They have killed my husband through their henchmen.”
“This is why they are trying to bring back the days of ‘Jungle Raj.’ Nitish Kumar has now become a party to it,” she added. Rama Devi’s husband Brij Behari Prasad was a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal. He had served as Bihar’s Minister for Science and Technology.
On June 13, 1998, he was assassinated in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences parking lot in Patna. It is believed that Prasad was killed by the accomplice of deceased gangster Chhotan Shukla.
The contentious remark of Tejashwi Yadav
The RJD chief has been engaged in a war of words with BJP MP Nityanand Rai for some time. Tejashwi Yadav had recently threatened Rai, following CBI raids at the residences of several party leaders.
Tejashwi Yadav, who is worried about Rai’s rise in the State , had remarked, “Thandaa denge, Delhi wale bachane nahi aayenge (We will teach you a lesson and make you sober. The leaders in Delhi will not come to protect you).”
Reportedly, the RJD chief is of the view that Nityanand Rai is the man behind the CBI raids at the properties of his party leaders in land-for-job-case. He is also intimidated by Rai’s potential CM candidature for the 2025 Bihar elections.
Nevertheless, the BJP leader told Tejashwi Yadav, “Hamko thandaa do bhai (Please teach me a lesson). Bhains ka doodh peene se log thanda ho jaate hain (I have heard that people w become calm and sober after drinking buffalo’s milk).”
Cricket, which is supposed to be a sport, has become a tool of anti-India propaganda in our neighbouring country Pakistan. Whether it is Shahid Afridi or Shoaib Akhtar who repeatedly attacked India over Kashmir, or former PM and former Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan who called cricket match between India and Pakistan ‘a way of Jihad’ against India, the hate against India and Hindus in India in particular from Pakistan cricketers has been ever-present.
Here are some examples of how Pakistani cricketers relentlessly spew venom against India.
It has to be noted that despite their hate towards India, there are some Indian media houses that often invite them for their shows. Even during these shows on Indian channels, they do not resist spewing venom against India.
Former cricketer and currently a coach, Javed Miandad, published a 9-minute anti-India video in 2020. The video was published a day before the first anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir. In the video, Miandad claimed that the Muslims in India knew how to fight, and they were ready to sacrifice themselves. Attacking PM Modi, he said, “I want to tell you, PM Modi, that you are finishing your country.”
Miandad also tried to provoke Sikhs in Amritsar while mentioning insurgency in Punjab and urged them to help Muslims in Kashmir. Miandad attacked PM Modi and called him a “blot on the nation”. He tried to provoke the Indians to come out and remove him from power.
Ironically, he accused India of attacks on minorities, especially Muslims. Miandad, while sitting in a country named Pakistan that has categorically attacked, killed, and converted the minority Hindu and Sikh population, accused India and Hindus of being intolerant.
For former Pakistan captain Imran Khan, a cricket match against India was always a ‘jihad’
Former Pakistan cricket captain and ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan had once said he viewed a cricketing contest against India not as a mundane match but as jihad. The revelation was made by former Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan, G Parthasarathy, who was once told by a Pakistani journalist that when he asked Imran Khan how he bowls with such fire against India, he responded ‘whenever I play against India, I don’t treat it as a game, I think of Kashmir and treat it as a jihad’.
Waqar Younis rant against Hindus
During a talk show last year, Waqar Younis praised the Pakistani players for offering Namaz at the ground. He was visibly gloating over the fact that Namaz was offered in “front of Hindus”. He said, “The manner in which Babar and Rizwan batted, sensible yet aggressive, the strike-rotation, the look on their faces, it was amazing. The best thing, what Rizwan did, Mashallah, he offered the Namaz on the ground surrounded by Hindus, that was really something very, very special for me.”
Waqar Younis was proud that Pak player read Namaz in middle of Hindus (Indian players). He is currently commentating with Indian Hindu commentators. Indians pretending as if nothing happened. Waqar ‘bhai’ enjoying Stockholm syndrome of Hindus.pic.twitter.com/ELTVJSCnf4
There have been other instances in the past when Waqar Younis has not shied away from his bigoted rants against Hindus. Years ago, Younis remarked that Indians could not bowl fast because they do not consume beef. The snide remark was meant for Hindus who refrain from consuming beef as a cow is considered a sacred animal according to Hinduism.
Shoaib Akhtar endorsed the two-nation theory
In an interview on the Indian channel Aaj Tak, Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar recently endorsed the two-nation theory that led to the partition of India. While speaking on a cricket show organised by the channel, Shoaib Akhtar said he believed in the two-nation theory.
Shoaib Akhtar’s comments on Aaj Tak reflect the clarity in Pakistanis and their staunch belief in two nation theory despite everything else. Important for Idiots from Indian side who lost half state to Pakistan in 1947 to keep Pakistanis intention in mind.pic.twitter.com/0GynpF85zv
The two-nation theory was first promulgated by Syed Ahmad Khan, the founder of the Aligarh Muslim University. The theory asserts that Muslims and Hindus form two separate nations that cannot coexist peacefully in one country.
It is worth noting that the two-nation theory became the cornerstone of the Muslim League’s demand for a separate country for Indian Muslims, which triggered a violent spate of Hindu-Muslim clashes across the country and ultimately resulted in the partition of India into two nations—Pakistan and India.
Shoaib Akhtar echoed the Gawza-e-Hind prophecy
Shoaib Akhtar had lent his support to an extremist ideology. In a news chat show, Shoaib Akhtar advocated the Islamic supremacist fantasy of ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’, stating that Islamic forces will capture Kashmir and invade India.
Here @shoaib100mph talking about Gazwa-E-Hind. How he wants i$lamic rule on all over India…conquering Kashmir & then entire India…
“It is written in our scriptures that Ghazwa e Hind will take place. The river in Attock will be coloured red twice with blood. Forces from Afghanistan will reach Attock. Then after that, forces will rise from Shamal Mashriq, and different contingents will arrive from Uzbekistan etc. This refers to Khorasan, a historical region that extended to Lahore. Later those forces will conquer Kashmir, and then, inshallah, they will march onwards (to the rest of India),” Shoaib Akhtar said.
The term Ghazwa-e-Hind or a holy raid of India has been used by Pakistani terrorists against India for decades. The concept of Ghazwa-e-hind is rooted in several works of Islamic literature. The doctrine prophesizes a pitched battle between Hindus and Muslims before (qayamat), resulting in a decisive victory of Muslims over Hindu India.
Saeed Anwar had said all non-Muslims will be incinerated in hellfire
Former Pakistani batsman Saeed Anwar was another cricketer who supported Islamic supremacism and treated non-Muslims with contempt. In a meeting, Anwar said all non-Muslims were going to be incinerated in hellfire, and it was the duty of Muslims to save them by converting them into Islam.

‘No non-Muslim can ever enter Jannat, but even the worst Muslim criminal can’: Muhammad Yousuf
This view was concurred by Mohammad Yousuf, who renounced Christianity and converted to Islam after his selection to the Pakistan cricket team. In a speech years after embracing Islam, Yousuf said no non-Muslim can ever enter Jannat, but Allah will send even the worst Muslim criminals to Jannat.

‘If Muslims show their Muslim-ism, not one human on earth will remain non-Muslim’: Inzamam-ul-Haq
Another Pakistani cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq, who had captained the Pakistani cricket team and also served as chief selector, had also spewed venom against non-Muslims. In an interview, Inzamam-ul-Haq warned that if Muslims started showing their Muslimism, not one human on earth would remain non-Muslim.
Sharing details about how the Pakistani dressing room was a breeding ground for disseminating Islam, Inzamam-ul-Haq had once said that Indian Muslim cricketers were invited to hear mullah in the Pakistani dressing room, adding that Harbhajan Singh had almost converted to Islam.
Proof 6 #CricketJihad: Inzamam ul Haq wants all non-Muslims to convert to Islam. Shares how to Islamise whole world.
Contrary to how Pakistani cricketers spew venom against India and Hindus, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli recently praised Pakistani captain Babar Azam. Hailing Babar as “the top batsman in the world across formats” currently, Kohli said the Pakistani batsman is the kind of player world cricket needs. “The first interaction I had with him was the 2019 World Cup after the game in Manchester. He and Imad (Wasim). Imad I have known since Under-19 cricket, we have played against each other and Imad said Babar wanted to have a chat,” Kohli said during his interaction with Star Sports.
“We sat down and spoke about the game. I saw a lot of regard and respect from him and that hasn’t changed regardless of the fact that he is probably the top batsman in the world right now across formats, performing so consistently,” Kohli said about Babar Azam. While Kohli heaped praises on Babar Azam, he had once asked his fan not to live in India if they loved batters from other countries. During his interactions with fans on social media, Kohli said “those who prefer English and Australian batsmen should not live in India.”
On Monday, the Allahabad High Court issued order allowing videography of the disputed structure at Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura on the lines of disputed structure ‘Gyanvapi Masjid’ at Kashi Vishwanath temple. A petition was filed in connection with the Mathura Janmabhoomi. A bench of Justice Piyush Agarwal issued the order.
A senior advocate will be appointed as commissioner and two advocates will be assistant commissioners for the videography. The survey report has to be submitted in 4 months’ time.
Petitioner Manish Yadav said that the plea was stuck in court on the disputed structure in Mathura District court since a year. But now the Allahabad High Court has clearly said that the report of videography needs to be submitted in 4 months’ time.
This order comes months after the videography survey at disputed structure at Gyanvapi showed a Shivling was found at the wuzukhana at the mosque. The Kashi Vishwanath mandir, just like the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, was destroyed by Islamic invaders and a mosque was constructed on the ruins of Hindu temples. Mathura, too, is one such place where a temple was destroyed for mosque.
The Shahi Idgah Mosque stands at the Krishna Janmabhoomi in the city of Mathura. The Islamic invader Aurangzeb had destroyed the ancient Keshavnath temple and built the Shahi Idgah Mosque on its plinth in 1669.
In his petition, Yadav has stated that “religious artefacts, ancient inscriptions and mythological evidence related to the Hindu religion exist on the Idgah premises, and the same has been concealed there. These facts need to be presented before the court.”
There has been a growing demand among Hindus to reclaim Kashi and Mathura, along with Ayodhya. Reclaiming the disputed sites of Kashi Vishwanath temple and Krishna Janmabhoomi temple at Mathura has now become a priority for various Hindu groups in the country.
On Monday, August 29, the Supreme Court pulled up the Muslim student petitioners who sought an adjournment in the Hijab ban case, stating that it would not tolerate “this kind of forum shopping. The court also issued a notice to the Karnataka government on petitions challenging a High Court ruling refusing to lift the ban on hijab in state educational institutions.
The bench comprising of justices Hemant Gupta and Sudhanshu Dhulia stated that it will not entertain a plea filed by some Muslim student petitioners seeking adjournment since an early hearing was sought by the petitioners themselves.
#BREAKING [Hijab Ban] “Will not permit forum shopping”: Supreme Court rejects request by petitioners for adjournment; issues notice
The apex court was hearing almost 23 petitions filed challenging the Karnataka HC order upholding the Hijab Ban.
On July 13, the petitioners’ lawyer, Prashant Bhushan, requested an urgent listing of the pleas. Bhushan claimed that the ban was causing female students who wanted to wear the hijab to fall behind in their studies.
Chief Justice Lalit’s predecessor, NV Ramana, had stated that the case will be heard by the Supreme Court a week later. The petitions, however, were not listed. On August 2, Ramana stated that this was due to the fact that the judges who were meant to hear the petitions were ill.
The next hearing date in the case has been set as September 5.
Muslim girl student moves SC after Karnataka HC dismisses petitions saying hijab is not an essential religious practice
In March 2022, hours after the Karnataka High Court dismissed the collective pleas by Muslim student petitioners against the ban on wearing the hijab (headscarf) in classrooms, the latter moved the Supreme Court against the verdict.
The petition filed in the apex court by a Muslim student named Niba Namaz through Advocate Anas Tanvir challenged the Karnataka High Court verdict in the hijab case. This challenge came after the High Court upheld the ban on religious symbols in pre-university colleges, stating that the hijab is not an essential practice of the Islamic faith.
SC agrees to hear petition against HC verdict
The Supreme Court agreed to hear a petition challenging the Karnataka High Court’s verdict regarding the hijab ban in the upcoming week.
After hearing both counsels today, the apex court accepted Solicitor General Tushar Mehta’s request and issued a notice to the Karnataka government for their response, and posted the matter for hearing on September 5.
Karnataka Hijab row
A major controversy erupted in Karnataka in January 2022 after a Udupi school prohibited hijab inside classrooms. Some Muslim girl students, supported by PFI had appealed against this in the Karnataka High Court. On February 25, the court reserved its decision on the case. Protests, allegations, and counter-allegations occurred in response to the hijab ban.
The Karnataka High Court declared on March 15 that wearing a headscarf does not constitute an essential Islamic practice as the petitioners failed to provide evidence in that regard. The Karnataka High Court dismissed all petitions contesting the hijab ban in Karnataka schools and decided that the rules for the uniform dress were fair and that students can not object to respective dress codes mandated by educational institutions.
A Full Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, Justice Krishna Dixit, and Justice JM Khazi pronounced the decision. The Bench ascertained that the petitioners’ basic rights were not violated by a uniform dress code at educational institutions.
Following that, Muslim students from Karnataka petitioned the Supreme Court to overturn the judgment of the Karnataka High Court.
In a video making rounds on the internet, former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi can be seen insulting former Indian Cricketer and Member of Parliament Gautam Gambhir. Netizens are criticizing Harbhajan Singh and Aaj Tak journalist Vikrant Gupta for laughing along with the Pakistani player rather than calling him out for mocking Gambhir.
Famous parody Twitter account Yo Yo Funny Singh shared the video writing, “It’s such a shame that both @vikrantgupta73 & @harbhajan_singh instead of countering Shahid Afridi, were laughing along when he was mocking a fellow Indian @GautamGambhir. Try this with Afridi for a fellow Pakistani !!”
In the video, Shahid Afridi says, “Ek Social media Par Bohot Chalti hai Meri Aur Gautam Ki Aur Gautam Ek Aisa Character Hai Jise Mere Khyaal Mein Puri Indian Team Hi Nahi Pasand Nahi Karti (A lot goes on social media between me and Gautam and Gautam is such a character that I think the entire Indian team does not like.).” Harbhajan and Vikrant burst out laughing in response to Afridi’s remarks.
Several people commented on Harbhajan and Vikrant’s reaction. A user wrote, “@harbhajan_singh brother, we expect you to speak for your former teammates when any outsider target them. Same goes for @vikrantgupta73 . This was not expected from you guys”

The viral video comes from a 40-minute-long interview on the Sports Tak YouTube channel prior to the India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup tournament in Dubai on August 28. The interview was between Harbhajan Singh and Vikrant Gupta from India and Shahid Afridi from Sama TV in Pakistan.
It is notable that India defeated Pakistan in yesterday’s Asia Cup match in Dubai. In the Asia Cup encounter on Sunday, Hardik Pandya’s outstanding all-around play helped India defeat Pakistan by an incredible margin of five wickets. Pandya scored 33 runs off 17 balls, including the game-winning six in the last over bowled by left-arm spinner Mohammed Nawaz, while Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli both scored 35 runs.
Dumka girl Ankita Kumari, who was set on fire by her stalker Shahrukh Hussain 5 days ago, had succumbed to her injuries in the early hours of Sunday. Now, two videos have surfaced on social media containing the deceased’s painful, heart-rending dying statement.
In the first video, Ankita Kumari is seen speaking to the media from the hospital bed. The deceased, in evident pain, said that Shahrukh Hussain had threatened her with dire consequences a night before the attack. She further recalled how she went and immediately informed her father about the same. Since it was late in the night, her father asked her to go to sleep and said that they would think about what step needed to be taken the next morning.
Ankita further said in her dying declaration that she was in deep sleep at around 4 in the morning, when Shahrukh and his friend, whom she identified as Chhotu, threw petrol at her from the room’s window and set her on fire. When her eyes opened she saw the two running away. On being asked, Ankita confirmed that the area she lived in had a predominantly Muslim population.
Ankita said near the end of the video that she wishes Shahrukh is not spared. “He should die the way I am dying today,” said the Dumka girl who breathed her last at 2.30 am on Sunday morning.
In the second video, the deceased is heard saying that Shahrukh Hussain’s brother did not fear the law. He had warned action against those who dare to complain against Shahrukh and get him arrested. He had said, “Dekhte hai kaun jail me dhukata hai, jail se niklenge toh sabko dekh lenge. (lets see who dares to get us jailed, won’t spare them after coming out of the prison)”. Ankita also recalled how Shahruk’s brother had openly threatened her. “He had threatened me saying kill the girl who got him (Shahrukh Hussain) arrested,” Ankita recalled.

The horrific attack on Ankita happened on Tuesday (August 23) morning in Dumka in Jharkhand.
Her family then hurriedly took her to the hospital. It was found in the hospital that Ankita had suffered severe burns.
In the hospital, Ankita named Shahrukh as the culprit behind the horrific crime. After taking Ankita and her family members’ statements, police arrested Shahrukh the same day. She was initially taken to Phoolo Jhano Medical College Hospital in Dumka, and was later shifted to RIMS in Ranchi as she was in a critical condition.
Ankita’s family members hoped she would survive. However, due to severe burns, she was unable to recover and died around 2:30 AM on Sunday. Photos show that her hands, legs and face were badly burnt.
On August 21, a Hindu-American identified as Krishnan Jayaraman Iyer was at Fremont Taco Bell waiting to pick up his order when another customer started abusing him without any provocation. The tall bearded man kept on abusing Jayaraman for over 8 minutes. Jayaraman, who had already received the order, calmly recorded the verbal attack without responding. According to ABC7 News, he decided to stay and record as he was worried the attacker might follow him to his car.
The man could be heard saying, “Walking around with your f*****g toes out. B***h, this ain’t India.” He continued, “You f****d India up. You’re f*****g America up.” Calling the attack vile, Jayaraman remembered how the abuser had pointed fingers at him and said, “You’re a Hindu who bathes in cow urine.” Cow urine or Gau Mutra jibes are used against Hindus, and such attacks are similar to the language used by terrorists that have been active in the Kashmir valley.
He further added, “Indian people are a joke. Look at this nasty s**t.” The abuse continued even while the attacker ordered his meal at the counter. He intentionally ordered beef to instigate Jayaraman as cows are revered by Hindus. Jayaraman said, “I didn’t see a point of me trying to engage somebody who’s hell-bent on picking up a fight and wanting me to engage. He was so close to my face. He was throwing his dollars in my face. He was spitting everywhere.”
Jayaraman told NBC Bay Area, “I was scared, to be honest with you. I was infuriated on one hand, but I was scared that what if this guy becomes too belligerent and then comes after me?” Despite the continuous attack, the Taco Bell employees did not intervene or try to stop the abuser. Though it might be their policy not to engage and to inform the Police, which they did, the video clearly shows that the verbal attack could have turned physical at any point.
Jayaraman said, “So many of these employees were so busy, but they’re in the front. They’re seeing him abusing me. So I thought, at least they will ask him to leave the establishment, which is probably what most franchises would do. I mean, I don’t know what the policies of Taco Bell are.”
Jayaraman pointed out that the man was pronouncing Hindi and Punjabi words perfectly and used abuses for former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi as well. He said, “F**k Indira Gandhi, n****.” That was the time when he realized that the attacker could be an Indian.
OpIndia went through the video and noticed a few signs that pointed out him being a Sikh. On his arm, the attacker had a tattoo that read “Mann Neeva Mat Uchchi” in Punjabi, that ironically translates to “Discard your ego and live a life with high morals and humbleness”. He had more tattoos on his shoulder that looked like a war scene with several machine guns depicted

Jayaraman told ABC7, “Toward the end of the video, he said the late Prime Minister’s name and threw an f-bomb at it. And then I realized, oh my god, he may be Indian.” He went ahead and said he could be linked to the Khalistani movement. Jayaraman said, “That group, the Khalistan group, was deemed a terrorist organization in India.”
Further, blaming Hindus for the British invasion of India, the man told to Jayaraman, “You were the ones when the East India Company came, you were the ones to kneel first. Your people were the ones to put your head down, b****!” He believed there could be an ulterior motive for the attack.
Towards the end of the video, the man could be seen walking out of the establishment as Fremont police officers arrived and called him out. In the last couple of seconds, a Fremont police officer could be seen approaching Jayaraman.
In a statement, the Police said, “Fremont Police Department is aware of the disturbing video circulating on social media related to an incident at a fast food restaurant on August 21, 2022. We are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Because this is an active investigation, we will release information about the incident as soon as possible without compromising the investigation.”
The statement contained remarks from Police Chief Sean Washington, who said, “We take hate incidents and hate crimes seriously and understand the significant impact they have on our community. These incidents are despicable. We are here to protect all community members, regardless of their gender, race, nationality, religion, and other differences. We would like to urge the community to be respectful of each other and to immediately report any circumstances such as this that, upon investigation, may rise to the level of a crime. In the event of a hate crime, we will devote all available resources to follow up and investigate. Fremont is one of the nation’s most diverse communities, and we are thankful for the contributions of community members from different cultures and backgrounds.”
The Coalition of Hindus of North America’s (CoHNA) Pushpita Prasad said, “I think that video is so horrific. It’s sort of what we have been dreading for a while. We’ve been seeing an increasing number of attacks on Hindu Americans. Hindu hatred has been around for a while. And it’s, unfortunately, surfacing right now. Partly because there are a lot of actors that are sort of creating a lot of hate.”
So far, no update on the case has been reported by the Police.
A controversial civil society outfit, the People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL), has cried foul over the conduct of Ram Katha at the Raj Bhavan in Rajasthan.
As per reports, Governor Kalraj Mishra invited Hindu saint Vijay Kaushal to deliver Pravachan on Lord Ram for a period of 5 days at his official residence. Besides the Ram Katha, there is also an exhibition of Bhakti arts at Raj Bhavan between August 27 and August 31 this year.
Prior to the start of the event, Kalraj Mishra performed the traditional rituals by performing Puja of Lord Ram and the Ramcharitmanas. The Rajasthan Governor had earlier sent out invitations for the event and informed that anyone can enter the Raj Bhavan, following security check at the gates.
However, the decision to conduct such a religious eventdrew the ire of PUCL. It claimed that the 5-day programme undermined the dignity of the Governor’s office and also violated the Constitutional principles of secularism.
The People’s Union for Civil Liberties alleged that it was not against Ram Katha and only objected to its organisation at the Raj Bhavan. According to the President of its Rajasthan unit, Kavita Srivastava, the Governor’s House could only be used for cultural programmes such as Holi, Diwali, Eid, Christmas and Guru Nanak Jayanti.
She claimed, “This event (Ram Katha) brazenly compromises the secular character of our Constitution. These are not personal programmes of the Governor,” Srivastava also objected to the exhibition of Bhakti arts at the Governor’s residence.
She demanded that the religious event be shifted to another ‘public space’ and called upon the State government and the Rajasthan Governor to refrain from sponsoring Ram Katha. Kavita Srivastava suggested that celebrating only one religious festival will weaken Indian Constitutional values.
“Will the Governor likewise organise religious events and arts exhibitions of faiths like Islam, Christianity, Zoroastrianism, Jainism, Buddhism, Sarna-Adivasi, etc.?” the PUCL (Rajasthan) chief inquired.
The General Secretary of the People’s Union for Civil Liberties, Anant Bhatnagar, also claimed that shifting Ram Katha to a public place will restore the dignity of the Governor’s office.
PUCL and ties with Urban Naxals
PUCL is a fraternal organization of People’s Union for Democratic Rights (PUDR). The People’s Union for Civil Liberties is the same organisation that has extensive links to Maoists, something we have reported extensively on.
‘Urban Naxals’ who were arrested in the Elgar Parishad case and in connection with an alleged assassination plot against the Prime Minister are intimately linked with the PUCL. The PUCL and its associate organisations have a history of ties to Naxals and separatists in Kashmir as well as Manipur.
Over the years, numerous members of the organisations have been arrested for their links to Maoists. One of those raided in connection with the violence at Bhima Koregaon, Sudha Bharadwaj, is the General Secretary of the Chhattisgarh unit of People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL).
Father Stan Swamy was also associated with the PUCL. The narrative that PUCL propagates is quite often antithetical to a layman’s idea of civil society. Although the link is broken, on its website, it can be seen that the organization condemned the hanging of the Islamic terrorist Afzal Guru.
As per the report of Delhi PUCL for 2016-17, they assisted Islamist outfit PFI “in the matter relating to violation of their right to protest and their freedom of speech violated by the Delhi police on 5th Nov. 2017 in Delhi”.
‘Naxalite’ Binayak Sen was also the Vice President of the PUCL even after his conviction by Raipur Sessions Court. The West Bengal unit of PUCL also published a book exonerating Sen of all his crimes and branded him a “victim of state atrocity”.
