Israel thwarts Iranian attempts to attack Israelis in Turkey weeks after the assassination of Iran Revolutionary Guard Colonel

Iranian attempts to strike Israeli citizens in Turkey last month were reportedly thwarted by Israeli and Turkish security forces. Israeli security authorities alerted their Turkish counterparts of Iran’s intention to carry out an attack on Israelis on Turkish territory and requested their cooperation in thwarting the attacks.

The attacks, according to reports, were organized by an Iranian network functioning in Turkey. Late last month, Israel issued a travel warning to Turkey, fearing that its citizens may be targeted in reprisal for the assassination of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps senior commander Hassan Sayyad Khodaei, which has been blamed entirely on Israel.

As per sources, Israel planned to issue a warning to Iran to cease the actions of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Core unit. According to the Jerusalem Post, Israel prepared for an Iranian retaliation to the Tehran killing by strengthening its air-defence batteries in the north, fearing an Iranian reprisal assault from Lebanon. Because of continuous international allegations indicating that Israelis travelling to Turkey and Cyprus were under threat, the National Security Council issued heightened travel warnings against them.

The assassination of IRGC commander Hassan Sayyad

In May this year, Israel’s secret agency Mossad assassinated Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps senior commander Hassan Sayyad Khodaei by entering Iran’s capital Tehran. Iran International announced his death. Hassan Sayyad Khodaei was the mastermind of an attack on an Israeli diplomat in India in 2012. Israel is believed to have avenged the attack by executing Hassan Sayyad.

Hassan Sayyad was the architect behind many high-profile Israeli diplomat attacks. He planned a bomb blast in New Delhi in 2012 to assassinate an Israeli ambassador. The diplomat’s wife was hurt in the incident, as did her driver and two other bystanders.

Following the attack, Khodayari was involved in a series of bomb blasts in Thailand aimed at killing Israeli officials. Hassan was also suspected of being engaged in the deaths and kidnappings of Israelis in Israel, Turkey, Kenya, Colombia, and Cyprus.

Women supporters gathered outside AICC headquarters in ‘solidarity’ with Rahul Gandhi clueless about the case against him: Watch

Hundreds of Rahul Gandhi’s supporters’ gathered outside the All India Congress Committee’s (AICC) office in Delhi to showcase their support for him, before the Gandhi scion marched to the Enforcement Directorate’s office for questioning in the National Herald case. Interestingly, many of the so-called supporters who huddled outside the Congress headquarters in Delhi had no idea why they are there.

In a video shared by Republic TV, many woman ‘protestors’ appear completely oblivious when the channel’s journalist questions why they have gathered outside the AICC headquarters.

At around 2.10 minutes into the video, the journalist asked one woman protestor where she has come from and why. While she replied that she has arrived from Khajuri Khas in Delhi but she didn’t say why she was there.

The journalist approached two other protestors present at the site. He posed the same question to these two women. They also confirmed that they came from Khajuri. When asked what brought them there, one woman took off in Hindi, “humari kaam sunte nahi hai, mahenga sab samaan hai, humara ghar kahan se chale?”, which roughly translates to, “they do not listen to us, prices of everything has been skyrocketing, how should we manage our household?”

The journalist prodded them by asking if today’s protest is in favour of Rahul Gandhi. Though the women acknowledged that the protest is for the Gandhi scion, they appeared to be clueless about the National Herald money laundering case, for which Rahul Gandhi has been summoned to the ED’s office, and the fact that they had gathered there to protest Rahul Gandhi’s appearance before the probe agency. One of them said, “We want to meet him”.

The journalist continued to ask many women protestors whether they were told why they have been brought there but none of them answered. One of them responded by saying that they do not know but they would find out.

Congress leaders create a ruckus before Rahul Gandhi appears before ED

On June 13, before Congress leader Rahul Gandhi appeared for questioning at the Enforcement Directorate office in connection to the National Herald money laundering case in Delhi, the Congress leaders created a ruckus and protested against the law of the land.

As per news agency ANI, several Congress leaders were detained from outside the All India Congress Committee’s (AICC) office. These leaders were sloganeering in favour of Rahul Gandhi.

Earlier, posters were raised across Delhi by the party to show support for Gandhi. A mega ‘Satyagrah’ protest was planned in the city, but the Delhi Police denied permission for the same. The party had planned the march from party headquarters to the ED’s office. Heavy police presence was seen outside the investigation agency’s office on Monday morning.

Congress has claimed that the Central Government has been using the Central Investigation Agencies to settle a political score with Congress. The party had planned to hold demonstrations across the country at 25 offices.

Earlier, Sonia Gandhi asked for a new date to appear before the investigation stating she was suffering from Covid-19. Both Sonia and Rahul Gandhi were summoned by the ED in the National Herald case. Sonia Gandhi was called on June 23, considering her ‘health problems’.

As per reports, Rahul Gandhi has now reached the ED office where he is currently being quizzed by the investigating officers in connection with the National Herald case.

National Herald Case

The National Herald scam is one of the most notable legal cases in Indian history, as the Gandhis are directly accused. The Mother-Son duo of Congress President Rahul Gandhi and his mother Sonia, along with their aides – Oscar Fernandez, Motilal Vohra and Sam Pithroda, are alleged to have been involved in massive’ cheating and breach of trust’ in the acquisition of Associated Journals Ltd (AJL) by Young Indian Pvt Ltd (YIL). Assets worth crores of rupees had been allegedly transferred for purposes other than originally intended for a paltry sum. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi got unconditional bail in December 2015.

Watch: Congress mocks Veer Savarkar to claim bravery, while their leader Srinivas BV runs away to escape from police detention

Srinivas BV, a Congress politician and the national president of the Youth Congress, literally ran away to evade police arrest during a ruckus caused by Congress supporters outside the Enforcement Directorate offices in Delhi. As a policeman moved in to greet him after he arrived at the ED office in his SUV, the Congress leader made a run for it to avoid getting detained.

Ironically, earlier in the day, while talking to a reporter Srinivas was saying how he is never afraid of the police, and that the Congress party workers will definitely take out a march in support of Rahul Gandhi who is under the scanner of ED for financial fraud. However, faced with the first policeman he saw, Srinivas decided to make a run for it.

Apart from displaying false bravado, Srinivas was also mocking Veer Savarkar earlier in the day and proudly stated that Rahul Gandhi is no Veer Savarkar.

Savarkar has always been a favorite target of Congress leaders though so it comes as no surprise. Maybe it was because Savarkar was an unapologetic Hindu or maybe because of his fierce love for India, but the modern version of Congress loves to abuse him at any given opportunity. Despite the fact that Savarkar spent a decade in the most inhumane conditions in the cellular jail while being tortured daily for 10 years, he is no freedom fighter as per Congress. Ironically, people like Srinivas who mock him even after undergoing a decade of torture, run away at the first sight of a policeman.

Meanwhile, police detained several other Congress leaders for trying to foment trouble before Rahul Gandhi’s appearance in ED office. Along with other workers, Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala, senior leader Harish Rawat, Congress leaders Rajni Patil, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, L. Hanumanthaiah, and Thirunavukkarasar Su. were detained by the police.

The National Herald Case involving Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi

Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are directly charged in the National Herald fraud case, which is one of the most famous judicial cases in Indian history. Congress President Rahul Gandhi and his mother Sonia, as well as their top aides Oscar Fernandez, Motilal Vohra, and Sam Pitroda are accused of massive “cheating and breach of trust” in the acquisition of Associated Journals Ltd (AJL) by Young Indian Pvt Ltd. (YIL).

Assets worth crores of rupees were reportedly moved for reasons other than those planned for a paltry. In December 2015, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were granted unconditional bail in the matter. The Enforcement Directorate is currently investigating the case.

West Bengal: Business community calls for a 3-day strike after Islamists burn down shops and houses over alleged ‘blasphemy’ row

On Sunday (June 12), the Bethuadahari Business Society called for a 3-day strike after Islamists vandalised the properties of common people to avenge the supposed ‘blasphemy’ committed by ex-BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.

In a letter, it said, “It is hereby informed that today miscreants had set fire on several shops, and houses of common people. They have destroyed the motorcycles of the members of the Bethuadahari Business society and created an atmosphere of terror.”

“The Bethuadahari Bazar will remain closed for a period of 72 hours as a mark of protest. We demand the immediate arrest of the miscreants involved in the violence. If they are not nabbed during this period, then, we will intensify our protests. “

BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari pointed out how the media has been selective about the mayhem unleashed by Islamists.

“What the Media covered: Rioters pelted stones & vandalised a local train in Bethuadahari Railway Station in Nadia district,” he had tweeted.

“What the Media didn’t cover: The mob looted & vandalised hundreds of shops & homes at Bethuadahari. Motorcycles were burnt. People were terrorised,” Adhikari informed.

A march was organised in Nadia on Sunday (June 12) to protest against the remarks of Nupur Sharma. Soon after, the rally turned violent and Islamists vandalised shops en route to the Bethuadahari market. As a result, the national highway 34 remained blocked for several hours.

Even though the cops were present at the spot, they could not control the situation. A group of Islamists entered the nearby Bethuadahari railway station and vandalised it. The mob also pelted stones on the Krishnanagar Lalgola local train, resulting in panic among the passengers of the train.

As such, the train services on the Lalgola section of the line were blocked. After about an hour and a half, the train services resumed on the Krishnanagar-Rampur line.

Islamists go on a rampage in West Bengal

On Thursday (June 9), a mob of frenzied protestors blocked the National Highway connecting Howrah and Kolkata, thereby resulting in traffic woes and public inconvenience. The protestors, dressed in skull caps and lungi, created a ruckus on NH116.

They yelled Islamist slogans and burnt tyres. In videos that have now surfaced on social media, dark plumes of smoke could be seen engulfing the skies in many cities and towns across the state. Reportedly, the blockade began from Nibra (Kona Expressway-NH16 junction) at around 10:30 am and ended at 9:30 pm.

Located at about 12 km from the second Howrah bridge, it extended up to the AJC Bose Road in Kolkata.Instead of acting against the mob that had brought traffic to a near halt in Howrah, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asked them to disrupt public life in other states instead.

On Friday (June 10), the Islamists disrupted the vehicular movement in the Park Circus area in Kolkata. Following the Friday prayers (Jumma Namaz), Islamists began gathering on the road and demonstrating against the remarks made by BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.

Similar scenes were seen in Kolkata’s twin city Howrah, where Muslim mobs resorted to violence and vandalism. They burnt down vehicles and police booths during the violent protests.

On the same night, a frenzied mob of Muslim men ambushed the Beladanga police station in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal. As per reports, they hurled stones and bricks at the police station and demanded the arrest of a Hindu girl named Aishwani, who had asked rioters in the State to migrate to nearby Islamic countries.

Forced by circumstances, the cops had to fire tear gas shells to disperse the violent mob and pacify the situation. The girl was subsequently detained by the police.

Rahul Gandhi upset over Indian company winning power project bid in Sri Lanka, uses debunked claims made in The Wire report to attack Modi govt

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has now targeted the BJP and Prime Minister Modi from the shoulders of the left-liberal outlet The Wire, which published an article suggesting the PM’s role in influencing a deal in Sri Lanka involving the Indian enterprise Adani group.

Even though the Sri Lankan president rejected any such collusion or favour for any specific company, Rahul Gandhi has tried to level allegations on the Modi government, upset because an Indian company won a bid for a project in Sri Lanka.

It is not understood why Rahul Gandhi would be upset about an Indian company winning the bid for a large project abroad.

Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to peddle the claims made by The Wire and attack PM Modi. In a tweet, putting the image of the article by The Twire, he wrote, “BJP’s cronyism has now crossed Palk Strait and moved into Sri Lanka.”

The controversy developed after a top Sri Lankan official claimed in front of a Lankan parliamentary panel that PM Narendra Modi supposedly forced President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to give a power project in Sri Lanka to the Adani Group but then repudiated the comments as the debate intensified. Taking on such lines, left-liberal websites such as The Wire disseminated deception.

It is notable here that the official named MMC Ferdinando had stated the very next that his claims were wrong and he had become “emotional” due to some questions that made him uneasy.

The official’s remark was emphatically dismissed by Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Taking to his official Twitter account, the President stated explicitly that he denies authorising to award this project to any single individual or business. He wrote, “Re a statement made by the #lka CEB Chairman at a COPE committee hearing regarding the award of a Wind Power Project in Mannar, I categorically deny authorisation to award this project to any specific person or entity. I trust responsible communication in this regard will follow.”

The issue concerns the allocation of the Mannar Wind Power Project’s development contract. The Adani Group has won the bid to build a 1,000 MW wind power facility near Mannar worth more than $1 billion. Adani Green Energy, a subsidiary of the Adani Group, had presented a proposal to the Sri Lanka Board of Investment (BOI) and the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB). The BOI later forwarded the application to the Cabinet-appointed Management Committee on Investments (CAMCI), which was formed to expedite investment proposals. Around December of last year, the agreement was approved.

Ladakh: Islamists oppose construction of Monastery in Kargil, ask administration to stop Buddhist monk’s march in support of the Monastery

The situation is tense in Ladakh as on June 14, a march (Peace Pad Yatra) led by His Eminence, the 8th Choskyong Palga Rinpoche, is scheduled to reach Muslim-dominant Kargil. The march is facing opposition from local Muslims as it is in support of the construction of Gompa (Buddhist Monastery) on a 2-Kanal land that was allocated to the minority Buddhist community by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir in 1961. The march started from Leh on May 31 and will conclude in Kargil.

The journey was started by Choskyong Palga Rinpoche with the aim of laying the foundation stone of the Monastery on the allotted site. Notably, though the land was allocated for the Monastery, the then-government of J & K changed the use of land allegedly under the pressure of the local Muslim population and halted the construction of the Gompa.

The Buddhist community condemned threatening speeches by Islamists

On June 11, Ladakh Buddhist Association (Kargil) held a meeting, and all members of the Buddhist community unanimously decided to extend support to the march. The Youth Wing of LBA is providing support to the march in terms of boarding, lodging and other preparations.

During the meeting, they condemned the provocative and threatening speeches and statements made against the proposed Monastery by Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT), Kargil, and Islamia School, Kargil. In a statement, LBA said, “Everyone strongly condemned the provocative and threatening speeches given by IKMT, Kargil and Islamia School, Kargil heads which were purely done with an intention to provoke common people and the youths in order to disrupt the peaceful environment as well as create a Law and Order situation in Union Territory of Ladakh.”

LBA Chief Skarma Dadul alleged that Buddhists were being stopped from constructing a monastery in Kargil. He said, “We don’t want to create any tension, but it is our right to have a proper place of worship.” OpIndia tried reaching out to Skarma but could not connect.

Muslim bodies from Kargil opposed the march

Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) had written to the District Magistrate, Kargil, opposing the march led by Choskyong Palga Rinpoche. In its letter, KDA claimed that the march was politically motivated and pointed out that it was led by a monk of Tibetan origin. They further claimed that the intention of the march was to disturb the communal harmony and peace in the area.

KDA further alleged that a meeting was held with LBA where it was unanimously agreed that the issue must be solved amicably and by the general consensus of the main stakeholders. It further claimed that KDA was the main stakeholder in the meeting as the religious organizations of Kargil handed over the matter to the organization.

KDA called Choskyong Palga Rinpoche a ‘third party in the matter which has no stake in the construction of Gompa in Kargil. KDA urged the local administration not to allow the march to enter Kargil.

The dispute over the Gompa construction

On March 15, 1961, the then-Government of Jammu & Kashmir, General Department, Ladakh Affairs, sanctioned Khalsa land measuring 2 Kanals in Monza, Kargil, to Ladakh Buddhist Association for the construction of Buddhist Temple and Sarai. It was clearly mentioned in the order that religious construction was allowed on the land.

However, on June 18, 1969, the then-Government of Jammu & Kashmir issued another order and changed the use of land. The order stated that the land allotted to LBA could only be used for the construction of residential or commercial buildings and refused to allow religious construction on the land. Since then, the Buddhists of Kargil have been fighting for their right to a proper place of worship.

The locals who oppose the construction of Gompa have claimed that no Buddhists live within a 20 KM radius of the allotted land. They further said the building that stands on the land is a guest house for Buddhists, and it should remain a guest house only. On the other hand, the Buddhists said that the locals do not allow even the repair work at the already-standing building. A meeting was held between KDA and LBA on May 26, where it was decided that the stakeholders would decide over the matter if Gompa could be allowed or not.

‘Every community has right to worship’ Ladakh BJP VP Dorjey Angchuk

Speaking to OpIndia, Bharatiya Janata Party’s (Ladakh) Vice President Dorjey Angchuk said that every community has the right to worship, and Gompa should be constructed.

Kerala: Police pulls Barkha Dutt’s ‘Shero’ Aysha Renna with her hijab for protesting against bulldozer action in UP

Aysha Renna, who became the face of anti-CAA protests as a student leader from Jamia Millia Islamia, has been arrested by Kerala Police for disturbing the civic order during an agitation on Sunday. Renna was protesting against bulldozer action by UP Government authorities on Prayagraj violence accused Javed Ahmed.

On Sunday, Renna was protesting against the Police action against the house of Javed Ahmed, whose daughter, Afreen Fatima, was also involved in similar activities, Prayagraj SSP Ajay Kumar said.

According to reports, Renna was leading a blockade on a national highway in Kerala’s Malappuram. The Pinarayi Vijayan-led government Police went after Renna who was creating a ruckus during her protest. Since the development, visuals of Kerala Police women officials holding Renna by pulling her Hijab have surfaced. Aysha Renna who refused to comply with the action was dragged into a police van by female police officials.

The Police could be seen taking action against other protestors who joined Renna in her protest against bulldozer action by the UP government.

Aysha Renna, who hails from Kondotty, Malappuram, came to limelight while spearheading the efforts to mobilise Islamist youth during the Anti-CAA protests in 2019. Various media portals, including journalist Barkha Dutt, referred to Aysha Renna as a ‘Shero‘ (She+Hero) and was hailed for ‘saving’ Shaheen Bagh protestors from the action of the Police.

Earlier in 2015, after Mumbai blasts convict Yakub Memon was hanged in Nagpur, Islamist Aysha Renna expressed her solidarity with the terror convict through a Facebook post.

Shaktimaan or Mughal-e-Azam? Rahul Gandhi protest song by Congress workers sounds eerily familiar

The Prince of Indian politics, Rahul Gandhi, has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in the National Herald Case. But unlike mere mortals like you and I, who have to live by the law of land, it seems the Shehzada Saleem is above law and would have his circus of half-wit clowns chant slogans and sing songs in his praise as if he is going fight a battle instead of answering tough questions on allegations of money laundering.

Just look at the visuals. A huge crowd of Congressis has gathered to see off their leader answer some tough questions by the ED. As the senior party leader and Wayanad MP enters the office, the loudspeaker plays noise which just adds more points to the argument that loudspeakers playing songs, slogans hailing any one particular person should be banned. One person sings Rahul Gandhiiiiiii Rahul Gandhiiiiiii zindabaaaaaad on the loudspeaker. This makes me feel immensely talented and am now contemplating becoming professional singer because even with a voice that sounds like a six year old high on sugar, I sound way better than that noise.

Thankfully, I was not the only one who thought there was something off about this song.

Popular Twitter account Neta Ji pointed out how the Rahul Gandhiiiiiiii Rahul Ganndhiiiiiiii zindabaaaaaaad seems like a ripoff of the Mughal-e-Azam song, “Mohabbat Zindabad”. A song that was played in the movie Mughal-e-Azam while character that played role of Mughal ruler Akbar sentenced his son Saleem for execution for revolting against his father and falling in love with kaneez Anarkali.

So, Congressis likely copied a song played during scene of execution of a hero who played Mughal emperor as their party leader went for ED questioning.

You can listen to full song here to get better idea.

As a forever romantic person, when Neta Ji posted it, I kind of thought it might be Mughal-e-Azam song. But it also triggered some repressed childhood memories of Shaktimaan, the Indian Superman. The Rahullllll Gandhhiiiiiiii in Congress’ theme song for the day also sounds like Shaktimaan title track.

Unfortunately, the playback of Shaktimaan title track is copyright restricted and cannot be shared here, but you can listen to it here.

I think it sounds more like Shaktimaan because one would want to believe that despite not having very high IQ, Congress workers would rather have their leader as a Superhero (even if Desi) rather than a dude who was asked by his father to be executed.

What do you guys think? In today’s ED summoning Rahul Gandhi drama, is he Shehzada Saleem or Shaktimaan? Please vote in the poll below:

Hyderabad gang rape was planned, accused used condoms while committing the crime: Reports

The Hyderabad police, investigating the Jubliee Hill gang rape case, has confirmed that the five accused, all kins of AIMIM MLAs and TRS leaders, had clinically planned the entire crime. They were carrying condoms and even used it while raping the 17-year-old girl in a moving car on the night of May 28.

“They even had condoms on them and used protection while committing the offence. We are trying to ascertain where they got the condoms from,” said the police official as reported by Times of India.

The police are now trying to verify whether the accused bought the condoms before entering the pub in Jubilee Hills or after they left the pub to head to a bakery and later to the crime scene on Jubliee Hills Road No 44, where they committed the heinous crime.

According to a report by TOI, the police brought the five accused, including 4 minors, to the Jubilee Hills police station where they will continue to interrogate them on Monday. The police will collate the Call Data Records (CDR) of all the accused and use them to question them further.

Accused took advantage of the victim’s ‘friendly attitude’ to sexually assault her: Police

The police said that on Sunday, during the interrogation, the accused had referred to the girl as ‘affable’ and confessed to taking advantage of her ‘friendly attitude’ to sexually assault her.

The report further quoted the police official as saying that during the questioning the Sunday, the police found some discrepancies in the statements of the five accused, so they were taken to Jubliee Hills Road No 44, to recreate the crime scene.

The police are also waiting for the potency test reports of the five accused from the doctors at the Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad Police to appeal Juvenile Justice Board to allow minor accused to be tried as adults to ensure maximum punishment

It may be recalled that the Hyderabad police had on the 9th of June, said that they will be pushing for the under-18 accused to be tried as adults so that they do not get lighter punishment on account of being juveniles. Out of the five who had been arrested in connection with the rape of a 17-year-old girl that happened on the night of May 28th in the city’s Jubliee Hill area, 4 were minors.

As such, a minor cannot be sentenced to more than three years in prison under any circumstances. In this case, all minors are between the ages of 16 and 18, with one of them, the son of an AIMIM MLA, just a month short of becoming 18. The other minor accused also belong to politically influential families.

Earlier, reports had emerged about how the politically influential families of the five accused were using their political clout and influence to pressurise the victim’s family to drop charges against the accused.

According to the report, the accused’s family attempted to negotiate with the victim’s family through a few influential people, but the survivor’s family has been steadfast. The victim’s family has refused to give in to the pressure and has urged that the rapists be punished severely.

On 28th May 2022, a 17-year-old minor girl had gone to attend a party at the Amnesia and Insomnia Pub in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. The party was hosted by two of her friends. Some other boys also had met her in the same pub, from where she was taken in a Mercedes car and allegedly gang-raped by the accused. The Mercedes car in which the girl left the pub belongs to a TRS leader and an Innova car in which the crime took place belonged to a Waqf Board functionary.

Beijing concerned over attacks on Chinese nationals in Pakistan, requests action by Pak Army chief Qamar Bajwa in high-level meet: Reports

According to reports, Beijing on Sunday requested Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa to take appropriate actions to avoid attacks on Chinese people working on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) facilities in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.

The security of the Chinese people was discussed during a meeting of senior officials from Pakistan and China. General Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of China’s Central Military Commission, headed the Chinese delegation. The purpose of the meeting was to compare and contrast the perspectives of both countries on international and regional security issues.

A top-level tri-service military group from Pakistan visited China from June 9 to 12 to address various issues with senior military and government officials from Beijing. During the discussion, the attacks on Chinese citizens by Baloch militants were brought up. CPEC infrastructure projects, like gas pipelines and power plants, are frequently targeted by Baloch militants who perceive China as an imperialist power.

The Chinese requests came after reports of ongoing attacks on Chinese people in Pakistan prompted the Islamabad Police to set up a foreign security division at the Central Police Office (CPO).

According to The News International quoted by ANI, all standard operating procedures would be applied to security projects outside of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) that follow the CPEC security paradigm. The Special Branch, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and the Security Division will all conduct regular security audits.

Attack on Chinese nationals in Pakistan

The Chinese nationals working in Pakistan have been subjected to continuous attacks for various reasons. As a result of numerous attacks on them by various organisations and individuals, the Chinese people, particularly Chinese labourers in Pakistan, have lost trust in Pakistan’s security apparatus. Chinese employees in Pakistan are concerned about their safety, and they fear Pakistan’s security institutions will fail to protect them in the event of a crisis.

It’s worth mentioning that China has made major infrastructural investments in Pakistan. The projects, one of which being the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), rely heavily on Chinese manpower and funds.

The most recent attack on Chinese nationals took place in April of this year at Karachi University. On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, a large explosion occurred in a car near Karachi University’s Commerce Department. The bomb killed four persons, including Chinese nationals, at roughly 2:30 PM. According to reports, many Chinese employees returned to their homeland following the Karachi University incident.
