The so-called farmers protesting on Delhi borders against the Agriculture laws had called for Tractor Rally on Republic Day. They got permission from the Delhi police on the condition that they will start after the R-Day parade and will follow a specific route. The protestors agreed but only to trick the police into believing that they will follow the rules.

Several police personnel have been injured so far.

Just before the parade started at Rajpath, the farmers began to break down the barricades at Delhi borders and entered the national capital from the routes that were not permitted by the Delhi Police. When police tried to stop them, they attacked police personnel with swords and batons.

More visuals of confrontations between Delhi Police and protestors started to get viral on social media. In some videos, protestors were seen trying to run over the police personnel with speeding tractors.

In another visual, protestors were seen assaulting a policewoman.

In a video shared by Times Now, a ‘protestor’ was seen waving an automatic rifle as the police tried to control the mob.

When protesters almost hit police with tractor at Nangloi area of Delhi, police had to use tear gas shells to push them back.

A group of protestors had reached Red Fort and unfurled various religious and farmer union flags in several places. The internet service in several areas of Delhi has been snapped to control the situation.

Reports suggest that Rapid Action Force has been called to put a stop to the ruckus.

As Delhi plunged into an abyss of wanton violence, chaos, and disorder during the ongoing tractor rally, self-proclaimed farmers leaders Rakesh Tikait and Yogendra Yadav appeared to distance themselves from the mayhem.

Speaking for the first time since violence swept the streets of Delhi, one of the ‘farmers leaders’, Rakesh Tikait turned a blind eye to the carnage and claimed that his faction has been peaceful.

Even as cases of vandalism and violence were being reported from different parts of the national capital, BKU leader Rakesh Tikait said that the tractor march is ‘peaceful’ and that he had no knowledge of whether the protest had turned violent. Tikait’s remarks came as the protesters vandalized several vehicles, including DTC buses at the ITO area, videos of which have gone viral on the internet.

“Rally is going on peacefully. I don’t have any knowledge of it. We are at Ghazipur and are releasing the traffic here,” Rakesh Tikait, Spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) said. 

Another ‘farmer’ leader at the forefront of organising the Tractor Rally, Ichchadhari protester Yogendra Yadav, took to Twitter to allege that there had been no violence or lathi-charge by the police on the protesters. He dismissed the reports of violence and baton-charge as rumours and appealed to the protesters to not break the barricades or stray away from the agreed-upon route.

“As per my information, there has been no lathi-charge, no bullets have been fired. These are just rumours, so don’t pay attention to them…I appeal to my fellow protesters to abide by the route that was finalised by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and not veer away from the agreed-upon route,” Yadav said.

The anti-farm law agitation, which began in November last year, reached its zenith on the occasion of Republic Day. When the protestors announced their plans to conduct a massive tractor rally and march to the National Capital to protest against the historic farm laws, aspersions were cast about the possibility of violence and destruction.

Thousands of farmers breached barricades and proceeded towards Delhi amid huge police presence as they kicked off their tractor rally on Republic Day. Chaos was unleashed on the streets leading to the national capital as protesters flouted the designated route and marched towards the Parliament. A legion of protesters reached the Red Fort and desecrated the iconic UNESCO world heritage site.

The participants of the tractor rally also resorted to vandalism as they ran amok on the highways, attacking the trucks and breaking the barricades that were put up by the Delhi police to control their route. As disorder swept over the city’s borders, protesters were baton-charged and tear-gassed by the policemen on duty.

The upheaval was primarily caused after the protesters who were allowed to hold the “Kisaan Parade” between 12 to 5 PM, started the march much before the allotted time and veered away from the agreed-upon routes. The security personnel had tried in vain to convince the farmers to stick to the plan of holding the tractor parade after the conclusion of the Republic Day parade at Rajpath. But, their requests fell on deaf ears as the protesters ran riot, breaking barricades and vandalising vehicles on their way.

‘Farmer’ body Samyukta Kisan Morcha today thanked the ‘farmers’ who participated in today’s ‘tractor rally’.

Speaking to media, the ‘farmer’ body thanked the ‘farmers’ for the for the unprecedented participation. “We also condemn and regret the undesirable and unacceptable events that have taken place today and dissociate ourselves from those indulging in such acts,” the ‘farmer’ body said.

Samyukta Kisan Morcha further claimed that despite their efforts, ‘some organisations and individuals’ violated route and indulged in condemnable acts. “Anti-social elements had infiltrated the otherwise peaceful movement. We’ve always held that peace is our biggest strength and any violation would hurt the movement,” the body said.

Earlier in the day, the ‘farmers’ unleashed violence on Delhi Police where, amongst other things, they beat up police personnel with the Indian flag, deliberately tried to drive a tractor over them with intention to kill police and also pelted stones at the cop. Over and above this, the buses were vandalised and a yellow flag claimed to be that of the Nishan Sahib, holy symbol of the Sikhs, was hurled at the Red Fort, where traditionally the Prime Minister unfurls the Tricolour on Independence Day.

The APML said through its official Twitter handle, “Peaceful Sikh Protestor Removed Indian Flag from Red Fort And Waved Nishan Sahib Flag Which Is Very Sacred To Sikh People.” It also urged “Sikh Farmers and Muslims” to “stay strong”.

The flag hoisted at Red Fort is believed to be the Sikh Flag but Pakistanis are clearly not differentiating between the two to further incite Sikh sentiments against the Indian State. It is also pertinent to mention that terrorist outfit Sikhs For Justice had demanded that the Khalistani Flag be hoisted on Republic Day.

The Pakistani political party is calling it a Black Day for the Indian Republic. The actions of the protesting mob have caused a massive embarrassment to India. However, the Congress party is celebrating the massive anarchy that has been unleashed at the national capital. The Congress party has hailed it as the ‘power of a Republic’.

The protesting mob, meanwhile, has attacked police personnel, attempted to lynch a policeman and have been attacking the police with swords, rods and stones. They defied all rules and regulations, broke barricades and unleashed unfathomable anarchy on the streets of the national capital.

Even as the rampaging mob of protesters carrying out the tractor rally are creating mayhem on the streets of Delhi, NDTV has sought to condone their violent tendencies by attempting to project them as considerate and compassionate towards the sufferings of others.

An ambulance was snarled up in the traffic caused by the tractor rally in the national capital. But NDTV twisted the news to allege that ‘farmers’ made way for the ambulance stuck in the commotion.

The rampant violence was the leitmotif of the Kisaan Parade that was carried out on Republic Day by the protesters opposing the newly introduced Farm Laws. But the tweet posted by NDTV, in essence, was a shoddy attempt by the media organization to discredit the reports of violence, vandalism, and stone-pelting that were witnessed in the wake of the tractor rally.

However, whitewashing crimes of riotous mobs is par for the course for NDTV. On several occasions in the past, the media organisation has demonstrated eager willingness to pull the veil over unlawful acts if they are committed by mobs that are aligned to its ideology.

NDTV edits out visuals of a Mosque with a huge pile of stones from drone footage

In the wake of gruesome Delhi riots in February 2020, a drone video of the riot-stricken region was shared in which one could see heaps of stones stored on the terrace of a mosque. Not only mosques but large heaps of stones were stored on the terraces of various residences, which were clearly visible in the video, indicating that the Muslim mobs had planned ahead for the violence.

However, left-wing portal NDTV – which has a history of absolving even Islamic terrorists from their crimes, resorted to rescue Muslim mobs by watering down the crime by carefully editing the mosque out of the drone video.

In a report titled, ‘Drones Monitoring Situation In Violence-Hit Delhi Areas’, NDTV cropped images of the mosque to mislead the readers on the real nature of the anti-Hindu riots and tried to hide the images where it can be clearly seen that the local mosques had stored stones to attack the Hindus during the communal riots. In the report, the featured image was credited to ANI, but the Mosque was missing.

The official handle of the Congress party shared a photograph of the tractor parade on social media with a caption that said, “Never underestimate the power of a Republic”. It is pertinent to mention that the tweet was made at 1:45 pm, long after violence had been unleashed in Delhi by the mob.

The protesting mob attacked the Police with rods, swords and pelted stones at the police personnel. An attempt was also made by some to lynch a policeman. The mob did not stop there and forced their way into the Red Fort where they unfurled the Sikh Flag. It is pertinent to mention here that terrorist outfit Sikh For Justice had demanded that the Khalistani Flag be hoisted on Republic Day.

It sets an extremely dangerous precedent that the Congress party is celebrating an insurrection against the State of India merely because it hopes to gain electorally from it. During the anti-CAA riots as well, Congress leaders had spread propaganda regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act and had fueled protests regarding the same.

During the current protests, the Congress party adopted a similar stance where they played with fire at the cost of national interests. And today, they are openly celebrating anarchy on the streets of Delhi.

India is celebrating its 72nd Republic Day today. During the much-awaited R-Day Parade, the state Tableaus have always been among the top attractions. This year, 17 states displayed their culture and heritage, including Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and first-time entrant Ladakh. Here is a list of state Tableaus and what they represented to define their state.

Uttar Pradesh

For the first time in History, Bhagwan Ram was a part of the R-Day Parade in Uttar Pradesh Tableaus. With Rishi Valmiki in the front and Bhavya Ram Mandir in the back of the Tableau, the state showed how glorious and rich its culture is. The Tableau also had a hint of Saryu River, on which the state made a world record by lighting 5.84 lakh diyas on Diwali last year. The construction of the Ram Mandir that was commenced on August 5, 2020, is scheduled to be completed by 2022-23.

Karnataka

Karnataka tableau displayed Vijayanagara Empire via its Tableau on R-Day. It had the throne of Raja Krishnadevaraya, Hampi’s sculptures, Bhagwan Narasimha and Vithoba temples and prominent pillars and sculptures.

Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh proudly displayed Brahmotswam and Lepakshi Veerabhadra Temple.  The temple is of the Vijayanagara Architectural style. It also exhibited majestic monolithic rock structure Nandi which ranked as the biggest monolithic Nandi structure in the country.

Ladakh

Ladakh showcased its Tableau for the first time in Republic Day celebrations since it became a UT in 2019. As a part of Jammu and Kashmir, the region did not get a chance to showcase its culture and heritage. The Tableau depicted the iconic Thiksey Monastery located on top of a hill in Thikse in Leh district. It is known as one of the most-visited tourist sites in the region. It also featured the Indian Astronomical Observatory, located in Hanle near Leh.

Punjab

As always, Punjab embraced its rich Sikh heritage in its Tableau. This time, it was dedicated to Ninth Sikh Guru Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. India and Sikhs across the world will celebrate his 400th Prakashutsav this year on April 18.

Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand’s Tableau honored the glory of Bhagwan Kedarnath in the R-Day Parade. The Tableau had the state animal musk deer at the front, followed by a model of the Kedarnath Temple at the back, along with devotees.

Gujarat

Remembering the rich culture of Gujarat, the Tableau had a replica of the famous Sun Temple located at Modhera. It depicted the Sabhamandap, part of the Sun Temple. It’s 52 pillars denote 52 weeks of a Solar year.

Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh showcased its rich tribal culture via Tableau on the R-Day Parade.

Delhi

The Delhi Tableau showcased the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government’s dream project of redeveloping Shahjahanabad’s heritage in the Chandi Chowk area. The background music had a conch’s sound followed by ‘Allah hu Akbar” and “Ek Omkar” chants.

Sikkim

Sikkim’s Tableau showcased the very famous Pang Lhabsol Festival that pays homage to Kanchenjunga Devata. Every year, this festival attracts thousands of tourists from across the world.

West Bengal

West Bengal highlighted the state program to bring green culture under which it has distributed over one crore cycles among students.

Maharashtra

Maharashtra’s Tableau was dedicated to the Bhakti movement in the state. It showcased the “The Saints of Maharashtra,” paying tribute to Vithal worshippers meeting Sant Tukaram and Chatapati Maharaj.

Tripura

Tripura showcased the tribal culture and its connection with Bamboo in its Tableau. There are 19 tribes in Tripura, and all of them use Bamboo extensively. In recent times, the Tripura government has launched several programs to encourage tribes to manufacture and sell bamboo-products like water bottles, showpieces and more.

Tamil Nadu

Mamallapuram’s Shore Temple was depicted in Tamil Nadu’s Tableau. One of the most famous marvels of Indian history, this temple is a UNESCO heritage site. In 2019, the temple site was the venue of the meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Chinese Premier Xi Jinping.

The protestors have hoisted the flag on Red Fort that appears to be the Sikh Flag. Violence has erupted all across Delhi after the protestors entered from routes that were not permitted by the Delhi Police. Several police personnel have been injured, and there are reports that they tried to run tractors over the police personnel. Video of assaulting one woman police personnel has also emerged. 

There is confusion regarding the flag as many believe it is the flag of Khalistan that was hoisted at the Red Fort. It is pertinent to mention that banned terrorist outfit Sikh For Justice had demanded for the Khalistan flag to be hoisted on Republic Day.

Many believe that it was the Khalistani Flag that was unfurled at the Red Fort. However, even if it is the Sikh Flag as is it is being claimed by some, hoisting it at the Red Fort on Republic makes the Khalistani motivations behind it abundantly clear.

There have been attempts by Khalistani elements to hijack the current protests to further their own agenda. The Government had said the same at the Supreme Court. Later, Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu had said the same.

There is complete anarchy on the streets of the national capital as the Delhi Police failed to prevent the anarchy that was unleashed by the protesting mob.

Amidst ongoing farmer protests, the so-called farmers have broken all the promises and entered Delhi via unscheduled routes ahead of the allotted time permitted by the Delhi Police. Regular videos are emerging on social media via different news agencies showing the ruckus these protestors are creating. While one group of agitators have reached Lal Quila and India Gate as demanded by the terrorist outfit Sikhs For Justice a week ago, another group has tried to run over police with their tractors.

The outnumbered Delhi police is getting injured and protesters’ are destroying public property across Delhi. In another video published by TOI journalist Raj Shekhar Jha, protestors were spotted assaulting a woman police personnel after cornering her.

In another video, farmers were seen beating police with the national flag. As of now, a group of ‘farmers’ has reached the Red Fort where they have unfurled a flag as demanded by the terror group Sikh For Justice.

The farmer protesters have broken barricades and have begun attacking the police personnel during the tractor parade. The protesters are using sticks, swords and there are reports that stones are also being pelted at the police.

The Police was forced to lathi-charge in response. Republic TV reported that attempts were made to hit the police with rods as well. Protesters also appear to have attempted to lynch a policeman but fortunately, the policeman was rescued by some others who were present at the spot.

Vehicles have been vandalized during the tractor parade as well. The Police is using tear gas shells to control the mob but is proving to be unsuccessful so far. The farmer protesters have succeeded in reaching the Red Fort and India Gate.
