A person named Sabir Ali has been held by police for allegedly trying to kidnap a Hindu girl from Ganjam district. As per reports, Bajrang Dal activists, with the help of RPF officials nabbed the man as he was feeling in a train near the Odisha Bengal border on October 31.
As per reports, the man named Sabir Ali, a native of Murshidabad, West Bengal, had lured the Hindu girl from Ganjam district in South Odisha and had allegedly planned to send her to Dubai. Sabir Ali and the girl were held at Jaipur Road railway station when RPF officials and Bajrang Dal activists intervened. The girl’s family have reportedly complained that Sabir Ali had trapped the girl under false pretences and had lured her.

As per reports in local media, Sabir was working as a craftsman in a village in Ganjam and had claimed that he had to come back from Dubai due to COVID-19. On Friday, Sabir had brought the girl to Bhubaneswar in a tired car. The girl was made to wear a burka to cover her face and identity. From Bhubaneswar, Sabir was taking the girl to Kolkata in the Puri Howrah train. The girls’ family approached the Ganjam police and with the help of local Bajrang Dal activists, and RPF, the police finally managed to nab Sabir at the Jajpur Road Railway Station. The girl was rescued and was handed over to her family.
Police confiscate passport
The girl’s family have alleged that Sabir had planned to take the girl to Dubai from Kolkata. The police have also reportedly confiscated Sabir’s passport with Dubai visa. A report in Organiser has claimed that Sabir is already married and has been involved in trapping other girls in the past too. The Bajrang Dal activists have stated that it is a case of Love Jihad and the accused Sabir Ali has been such activities earlier too.
On 1st October, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested 32-year-old Abdul Momin Mondal from Murshidabad in West Bengal. Mondal, who works as a madarsa teacher, was arrested for alleged involvement in an Al-Qaeda module that has been operating in West Bengal and Kerala. As per the reports, he was raising funds and trying to recruit new members for the terrorist organization.
In its statement, NIA said, “Investigation revealed that accused Abdul Momin Mondal was working as a teacher in Raipur Darul Huda Islamia Madrassa in Murshidabad district, West Bengal and was found to be involved in a series of conspiratorial meetings convened by the members of the Al-Qaeda module. He was also trying to recruit new members for the group and raise funds for furthering its terrorist activities. The residential premises of the accused person were searched, and digital devices were seized.”
Mondal is the eleventh arrest Since September
NIA further added that this is the 11th arrest that they have made since September after they apprehended nine terrorists associated with the module. The arrested terrorists were identified as Murshid Hasan, Iyakub Biswas, Mosaraf Hossein, Najmus Sakib, Abu Sufiyan, Mainul Mondal, Leu Yean Ahmed, Al Mamun Kamal, and Atitur Rehman.
NIA officials have recovered incriminating materials including digital devices, documents, jihadi literature, sharp weapons, country-made firearms, a locally fabricated body armour, and literature on homemade explosives. The raids were carried out based on intelligence inputs that suggested that the inter-state module was planning to carry out attacks at vital installations in India. A few of them were also planning to travel to Delhi to procure weapons.

Hours after Pakistani minister Fawad Chaudhry announced in their national assembly that Pulwama terror attack was Pakistan’s victory, Rajdeep Sardesai called him for an interview and gave him a chance to clarify his stand. After all, many including Sardesai himself had gone to great lengths to hail Imran Khan for ‘peace gesture’ for releasing Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman who was captured by Pakistanis after he chased away Pakistani fighter jets after Balakot air strikes. So how can a Pakistani minister brag about Pulwama and ruin the narrative set by the likes of Sardesai.

Rajdeep Sardesai interviews Rhea Chakraborty, prime accused in Sushant Singh Rajput case
Weeks after the untimely death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Rajdeep Sardesai interviewed Rhea Chakraborty, one of the prime suspects in the case and alleged that Sushant’s ‘mental health issues’ were an established fact. In reality, the late actor’s family has been vehemently denying it and no evidence of expert opinion and medical history has been revealed the same so far.
In fact, the only people alleging Sushant had ‘mental health issues’ are the deceased actor’s live-in partner (Rhea Chakraborty) whose involvement in the case is already under probe, and some Bollywood personalities and their media counterparts who were not even associated with the actor.
Rajdeep Sardesai paints Dr Kafeel Khan as innocent victim
Dr Kafeel Khan, one of the prime accused in Gorakhpur tragedy which claimed lives of dozens of children due to lack of oxygen supply, was recently released from Mathura Jail after Allahabad High Court’s bail order. He was arrested over allegations of making provocative and inflammatory comments during the anti-CAA protests at Aligarh Muslim University. Soon, Rajdeep Sardesai jumped on the bandwagon to help Dr Khan portray himself as the victim of the system.
Empathising with Dr Kafeel, Sardesai asked him about how he felt after coming out of the jail. A grinning Dr Kafeel, who was apparently overwhelmed on being interviewed by Sardesai, described his period in jail as a traumatising experience. He claimed that he was denied food for days in jail, and was subjected to physical and mental trauma. “Rajdeep Sir, this time in jail they harassed my like anything”, Dr Kafeel claimed. “The STF interrogated me for three days and asked me weird questions”, he added.
Now, if only Dr Khan would not have spread lies like ‘CAA makes Muslims ‘second class citizens’ of India’ and urged Indian Muslims to ‘fight for existence’, he would not have been subjected to ‘weird questions’, right? The CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) does not affect Indian citizens, irrespective of religion, in any way. It only fast-tracks Indian citizenship of persecuted religious minorities in the three neighbouring Islamic countries, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
And all four whitewashing interviews mentioned above have happened in past three months only.
As per the reports, on Monday, multiple terrorists opened fire across central Vienna on Monday. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz has described the attack as a “repulsive terrorist attack”. Two civilians and one attacker have been killed.
Shots fired at six locations
As per Vienna Police, at around 8 PM local time, several shots were fired at a busy street in the city center. The attack happened at six locations. Some videos were circulated on the social media platforms showing gunmen walking through the streets, but their authenticity could not be verified. The terrorists shot at random people, killing two and injuring several others. One police officer was also injured in the attack. One attacker was still at large, and the search operation is underway.

Interior Minister Karl Nehammer, in a statement, urged people to stay away from the center of the city. The officials informed that border checks were reinforced. Authorities announced that there would be no compulsory schooling on Tuesday and advised children to stay home. However, schools will remain open for those who do not wish to take leave.

Michael Ludwig, Mayor of Vienna, issued a statement in which he said that a large-scale police operation is still underway. He further advised people to stay home, and if they are in the inner city, they should stay indoors. He was quoted by Austrian’s public broadcaster ORF saying that 15 people were hospitalized for treatment, and seven of them were seriously injured.

Austria’s Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said the attackers were well equipped with automatic weapons. He said, “We are victims of a despicable terror attack in the federal capital that is still ongoing. One of the perpetrators was neutralized, but several perpetrators appear to still be on the loose.”
The attack happened close to the Synagogue
Jewish community leader Oskar Deutsch said on Twitter, “Whether the city temple was also the target of the attack can currently neither be confirmed nor ruled out.” The Synagogue was closed at the time of the attack as evening prayers had ended. “Based on the current risk assessment, we are all called upon to remain at home or in a lockable building. All synagogues, Jewish schools, and the institutions of the IKG, kosher restaurants, and supermarkets will remain closed tomorrow as a precaution,” he further added. Deutsch urged people to follow the instructions issued by the city Police.
London’s LBC radio quoted Rabbi Schlomo Hofmeister, who lives in the compound of the synagogue. He said, “Upon hearing shots, we looked down (from) the windows and saw the gunmen shooting at the guests of the various bars and pubs.”
The motive of the attack is unclear
A partial lockdown was planned to control the spread of coronavirus. The attack happened just hours before it got imposed. The authorities did not release any information about the identity of the attackers. The motive of the attack is still unclear.

Several terror attacks took place in France in the last 30 days over the cartoon of Prophet Muhammed that was republished by the satire magazine Charlie Hebdo. Samuel Paty, a teacher, was beheaded by an Islamist for showing the said cartoon in his class. Later, on 29th October, three people, including a woman, were reportedly beheaded at a Church in Nice, France. Islamist organisations and leaders of Islamic countries like Turkey and Pakistan, instead of condemning the terrorist attacks, are vocally criticising France for Macron’s statements against radical Islam and Islamic terrorism.
On Monday, the Uttar Pradesh police arrested Congress district President (Jalaun), Anuj Mishra, over charges of sexual harassment. He was presented before the District Sessions Court and was sent to 14-days in judicial custody. The Congress leader will be lodged at the Orai District prison.
Anuj Mishra, who is considered close to Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, had allegedly harassed two women who then thrashed him for his actions. He has however dismissed the allegations as ‘political conspiracy’. In his defence, Mishra had claimed that he had appointed one of the women, Maya Singh Parihar, as party district secretary. He alleged that the woman had to be relieved from her position and the party due to non-performance. “When she was in the party, I helped her in obtaining construction materials on credit. When I sought payment for it, she refused to pay up. This is a conspiracy to malign my image”, he stated.
The video and pictures of the Congress leader being thrashed by the women had gone viral in the social media.
Case registered against Anuj Mishra for sexual harassment
Meanwhile, Santosh Kumar, Circle Officer, Orai, informed that a case was registered against Anuj Mishra under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 354 (assault to outrage modesty of a woman). He added, “A case of sexual harassment has been registered in the matter (Congress district president Anuj Mishra being beaten up by two women for allegedly sexually harassing them). Both parties have known each other for years, we are investigating the case.”
Congress leader apologised to the victims on being thrashed
In a viral video, the Congress district president could be seen begging and apologising to two women who grabbed him by the collar and beat him up. Anuj was begging the women to let him go and promising them that he would not repeat the mistake. “Beta, chhod do, beta chhod do..” (Let me go…let me go…), Anuj can be heard requesting the women as they beat him up.
One of the women asked Anuj to refer to her as sister and asked him whether he would abuse them again. “Ab kabhi gali doge?” (Will you abuse again?), one of the women asked Anuj to which he replied, “Behen kabhi nahi” (Will never do that again sister.) He then touched their feet asking for forgiveness calling them sister and daughter.
A probe has been initiated by the Income Tax Department against English daily, the Hindu in relation to alleged financial transactions between the newspaper and China. According to a report of Sputnik, a complaint was filed on October 2 by a Maharashtra-based pressure group called Legal Rights Observatory (LRO) addressed to the Home Ministry.
The complaint sought an investigation into the financial transactions between China and The Hindu after the newspaper published a full-page advertisement from the Chinese Ēmbassy on October 1 marking the 71st anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. It could only be interpreted as an Indian newspaper running Chinese state propaganda.
The Home Ministry forwarded the complaint to the Income Tax Department on October 18, 2020 and gave a period of thirty days to the department to submit its report. In the complaint, the LRO termed the publication of the advertisement by the Hindu as a “brazen act of sedition” in view of the escalating tensions between India and China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The organisation claimed that the probe would reveal if the Hindu received any advertising revenue the Chinese embassy and that even if the advertisement was free of charge it would still be problematic.
Complaint filed against Hindustan Times
The LRO has also written a letter to the Home Ministry today requesting to initiate an investigation against the Hindustan Times newspaper for providing editorial space to Chinese mouthpiece China Daily in its October 30 edition.
Terming the publication of Chinese advertisement by Hindustan Times as “undermining of Indian interests to further the the United Front Work Department’s (UFWD) propaganda”, the organisation requested the Home Ministry to initiate a multi-agency probe into the alleged financial transactions involving the Enforcement Directorate, the I-T Department and the National Investigation Agency.
Indian Media peddling Chinese propaganda
On the 1st of October, The Hindu ran a full-page advertorial paid for and planted by China. The paid content appeared on the 3rd page of the paper. Interestingly, the paid content by China that was published by The Hindu on Page 3 did not appear on the digital website of The Hindu.
After the Hindu, The Hindustan Times carried a four-page supplement by China Daily, starting from the 8th page with a disclaimer, “This supplement, prepared by China Daily, People’s Republic of China, did not involve the news or editorial departments of Hindustan Times.” The supplement focused on China’s massive infrastructure project on its second-longest waterway, how the young minds from China were actively working with the United Nations on a global stage to make an impact in underprivileged countries and how China was preserving its culture across centuries while not compromising on its development.
The Bangladeshi authorities on Sunday arrested two individuals, Shankar Debnath and Anik Bhowmik, over charges of hurting religious sentiments of people after an Islamist mob ran riot. The mob went burning and vandalising houses of Hindus in Comilla district after a man reportedly shared a Facebook post on the controversy surrounding the publication of a cartoon of Prophet Mohammed in French satirical weekly magazine Charlie Hebdo.
A case has been filed against the arrested men under the Digital Security Act. Later, a Bangladeshi court denied them bail and sent them to jail pending trial after police produced them before the court on Sunday afternoon.
Twitter user Joy Chakraborty has claimed that the police has taken no action against the arsonists and the vandals but instead jailed two Hindus over comments on Facebook. He emphasised that the carnage lasted for a whopping 5 hours.
However, police claimed that efforts are also underway to nab the attackers who indulged in vandalism and attacked Hindu households for the allegedly derogatory post to Prophet Muhammad. The police are also going to watch the videos of the violence to identify the attackers, a police official said.
In order to maintain peace and tranquility in the region, four platoons of police have been deployed in Kurbanpur and Andikot villages.
Hindu households in Bangladesh’s Comilla district attacked
In a shocking display of intolerance and bigotry, a group of radical Islamists attacked over 10 Hindu families on Sunday at Korbanpur village under Muradnagar Upazila in the Comilla district of Bangladesh. In a video that has now gone viral on social media, a violent Islamist mob, wearing skull caps and brandishing sticks, logs and stones, could be seen vandalising the houses of Hindu families.
Hindu households were selectively vandalised and later set on fire after Debnath expressed solidarity with France and defended the Charlie Hebdo cartoons in Facebook comments. The Islamist mob burnt down the office of the local Union Parishad Chairman Bankumar Shiv, his house, Shankar’s house and that of other Hindu families in the area.
At least 25 people, mostly students, were killed and many wounded in a day-long encounter between terrorists and security forces after terrorists stormed the biggest university in Kabul, Afghanistan on Monday. The attack began with an explosion at the gates of the university campus in west Kabul just before 11 am on Monday morning.
Afghan media reported a book exhibition was being held at the university, which was being attended by a number of dignitaries at the time of the shooting. The terrorists reportedly stormed into the campus when government officials were arriving for the opening of the Iranian book fair.
Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian confirmed that the gunfight was over and two of the three attackers involved in the dastardly attack were eliminated by the security forces and the third one blew himself with explosives. “Three attackers were involved. One of them blew up his explosives at the beginning, two were brought down by the security forces,” interior ministry spokesman Tariq Arian told AFP.
According to reports, no terrorist group has taken responsibility for the ongoing attack so far. Taliban has denied any involvement in today’s attack at Kabul University. Taliban is an Islamic fundamentalist terror outfit originating in Afghanistan, waging war in the country in the form of an insurgency.
According to reports, classes were underway when the shooting began. The varsity officials and security personnel helped students evacuate the campus. Thousands of students fled, but a number of them remained trapped inside. Meanwhile, videos have surfaced on social media which shows students fleeing the varsity in the wake of the dastardly attack by gunned terrorists.
Afghan security forces later surrounded the area, cordoning off all roads that led to the university.
Last month, the Islamic State (IS) had claimed responsibility for a suicide attack on an educational centre in Kabul’s Shi’ite dominated neighbourhood of Dasht-e-Barchi in which at least 24 people, mostly students, were killed.
Last year, at least two people were killed and 10 injured in an explosion outside the Kabul University campus’ gate. In 2016, the American University in Kabul had come under attack, leading to the death of 13 people.
The Supreme Court on Monday stayed the order of the Election Commission of India (ECI) preventing ex-Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath, from being the ‘star campaigner’ ahead of the by-polls in the State. It must be remembered that the nodal election body had earlier delisted the Congress leader on October 30 for repeated violation of Model Code of Conduct.
A 3-Judge Bench of the Supreme Court comprising of CJI SA Bobde, Justices V Ramasubramanian and AS Bopanna ruled that ECI had exceeded its powers through the delisting of Kamal Nath as the star campaigner. “We are staying your order. Who has given the power to you delist a candidate from being a star campaigner or a leader of the party under Section 77 of the Act? We have read it,” CJI Bobde emphasized.

Kamal Nath claims no notice was issued prior to delisting
In his petition to the Supreme Court, Kamal Nath argued, “ECI cannot arbitrarily revoke the name of Petitioner from the list of ‘star campaigners’ when the entire statutory framework of Section 77(1) of Representation of People Act, 1951 does not grant such powers to the ECI.”
He further added, “The order is passed in complete violation of basic canons of natural justice and in negation of fairplay and therefore, deserves to be quashed. Further, no notice has been issued to the Petitioner with regard to the impugned Order in complete violation of principles of natural injustice.”
He alleged that no action was taken by the nodal election body against the BJP despite making statements, which allegedly violate the Model Code of Conduct. Kamal Nath was represented by Kapil Sibal, who argued that the order was arbitrary and that no notice was issued prior to the delisting as the star campaigner.
Election Commission tells SC that the matter was ‘infructuous’
In its defence, Advocate Rakesh Dwivedi, representing the ECI, stated that the matter was ‘infructuous’ as the election campaign for the by-polls were over. he added that the elections are scheduled to be held tomorrow. Dwivedi urged the Court to seek a reply from the nodal election body instead of putting a stay on the order. However, the apex court refused to agree.
The Election Commission had barred Kamal Nath from being the Congress party’s star campaigner for disregarding the warnings of the nodal election body and repeatedly violating the Model Code of Conduct. During a public gathering in Dabra, the senior Congress leader referred to a Dalit BJP leader Imarti Devi as an ‘item’.
“Wo kya hai… main uska naam kyun lun… aapko mujhe satrak karna chahiye tha kya item hai… (Who is she… what’s her name? You all should have warned me… what an item!),” Kamal Nath said as the crowd of Congress supporters yelled Imarti Devi’s name. Following the public backlash, the EC delisted him for breaching ‘ethical and dignified behaviour’.
A massive demonstration was taken out by thousands of Muslims in Bangladesh on Monday against French President Macron as he refused to condemn the caricature of Prophet Mohammad in defence of free speech. According to reports, the demonstration was called by Hefazat-i-Islam which is one of the biggest Muslim political groups in Bangladesh and protesters attempted to march towards the French Embassy.
The protestors began their march from Baitul Mukarram mosque towards the French embassy but they were stopped at a distance from the French embassy by security forces. The organisation gave a 24-hour ultimatum to the Bangladesh government to close down the French embassy. Junaid Babuagari, a leader of Hefazat-i-Islam, warned that if the demands of the protestors were not met, the next demonstration would not stop until they reach the embassy and destroy it.
“Showing respect to the duty of law enforcement officials, journalists, and the emotion of the participating Muslim brothers, we are stopping here today,” Junaid Babunagari said before adding, “We will not stop here in our next program. We will go to the embassy and destroy it if our demands are not met.”
He called on the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina condemn the French President in Parliament and severe all diplomatic ties with France. He urged the United Nations to take strict action against France. Babuagari demanded provision for death penalty for anyone who insulted Prophet in Bangladesh.
The protestors demanded a boycott of French products and burnt the effigy of President Macron raising slogans of “No defamation of the Prophet Mohammad”. They warned that the political parties that refused to condemn French President’ remarks would have to pay a price.
The visuals of the massive protest were shared by people on social media. A Twitter user going by the name @MbMukit shared a video on Twitter claiming it to be that of the protests carried out today in Bangladesh.

French President’s strong stance against radical Islam and in support of freedom of speech has infuriated Islamic nations like Turkey and Pakistan that have condemned France and French President alleging Islamophobia. Pakistan’s National Assembly had even passed a resolution demanding its government to recall their non-existent envoy from France. Muslims across the globe have been taking out protests against France including in India. India had expressed solidarity with France and condemned the attacks on French people by Islamic terrorists.
