Taliban demolish the tomb of Ahmad Shah Massoud as his son confirms Panjshir has fallen: Reports

0

Taliban destroyed the Tomb of the Late Guerilla Commander Ahmad Shah Massoud in the Panjshir Province soon after taking control of the region.

Talibs reportedly released videos from inside the Bazarak tomb where the military commander was buried. The news apparently breaks at a time when the Taliban claim the takeover of the Panjshir Valley. His son has reportedly admitted that Panjshir has fallen to the Taliban.

According to Tehran Times, sources had revealed that the tomb of Massoud was destroyed by the Taliban.

Ahmad Shah Massoud was the Mujahideen military commander who later became an Afghan Hero. He was known as the ‘Lion of Panjshir’ for his role in thwarting the Soviet occupation and honored with the title ‘Hero of the Afghan Nation’ in 2001 by the Afghan Interim Government under Hamid Karzai.

After the Taliban took over Kabul, Ahmad Massoud, son of Ahmad Shah Massoud, along with Amrullah Saleh had reportedly fled to Panjshir valley to continue the Resistance against Taliban occupation. Panjshir Valley remained the last bastion of the Northern Alliance and all the Anti-taliban fighters.

However, Taliban announced on Monday that Panjshir has fallen and that they have total control of the Province and the Panjshir capital Bazarak. Reports also claim that the Taliban had launched a man-hunt to find the National Resistance Force leaders Ahmad Massoud and Amrullah Saleh amidst conflicting reports that Resistance leaders are still active in the region.

‘F*ck Joe Biden’ chants heard during college football games as president’s approval ratings decline massively

Chants of ‘f*ck Joe Biden’ could be heard across stadiums at several college football games as approval ratings for the US President plummets over weak economic recovery and the Afghanistan debacle. The chant was heard at several other unlikely places as well.

Social media is flooded with people uploading videos of themselves and others chanting the slogan. A lot of these videos were captured at college football games.

The videos further demonstrate the extent to which the US President’s popularity has declined over a very short period of time.

The approval ratings of Biden have dropped massively amidst the messy withdrawal from Afghanistan. Hundreds of Americans were left stranded in the country with Taliban back in power and weapons worth billions funded by US taxpayers were left at the hand of the Jihadist outfit.

The US President came under intense criticism for the same, with demands of resignation being made by his political opponents. According to USA Today, Biden’s approval ratings in the last week of August had fallen to 41 per cent, the lowest ever yet. Up until the previous week, most polls showed the President’s approval ratings above 50 per cent.

According to the poll, though 87 per cent of Democrats still reposed their faith in him, only 32 per cent of Independents said they believed Biden was doing a satisfactory job.

Image of Chattisgarh CM’s ‘arrested’ father eating lunch in a police chamber goes viral, Netizens call the arrest a charade

Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel’s father, Nand Kumar Baghel, has been ‘arrested’ on Tuesday, September 7 and sent to judicial custody for 15-days, for allegedly making derogatory comments against Brahmins.

According to reports, the action against the Chhattisgarh CM’s father was taken after Netizens voiced their confidence that the state’s Congress government would take no action against senior Baghel because he is the Chief Minister’s father. In response to social media posts, the Congress leader stated that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law.

Acknowledging that he was aware of his father’s remarks Bhupesh Baghel had stated: “The comments have hurt the sentiments of the class as well as social harmony and I am also pained by it.”

When asked by the media if his father would be arrested or not since Bhupesh Baghel held the post of the CM of the state, CM Baghel asserted that no one was above the law even if the person in question was the CM’s 86 year old father.

In a release, the CM claimed, “Action would be taken against him as per law.” Asserting that he has ideological differences with his father, CM Bhupesh Baghel said, “Our political thoughts and beliefs are very much different. I respect him as his son, but as the CM, I cannot forgive him for such mistakes which disturb the public order.”

The FIR (First Information Report) against Nand Kumar Baghel was filed at the DD Nagar Police Station under IPC Sections 153-A (promoting enmity between two groups) and 505(1)(b) (intent to cause alarm).

The drama of arrest: Baghel’s “arrested” father enjoys royal treatment at the police station

Soon after reports of his arrest emerged, a picture started doing the rounds on social media where Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel’s father is seen eating lunch in the air-conditioned chamber in the police station.

Following the viral image, social media users wondered if Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s move against his own father was merely a ruse to highlight the Congress party’s morality and court the Brahmin vote bank in UP ahead of the elections.

After the royal treatment given to Bhupesh Baghel’s father, it is evident that the arrest was merely to cater to a ‘vote bank’ and not really to ensure that the law is upheld, as he had claimed to do. Baghel had said that as the CM, he would not “forgive him (his father) for such mistakes which disturb public order”, however, his father was not treated as a commoner who was arrested for disturbing public harmony. After the pressure being mounted on social media, it seems to be an exercise in image management rather than an attempt tp uphold the law.

Anti-farm law protesters on Tuesday jumped over police barricades as they marched to the mini-Secretariat in Karnal, Haryana. Visuals from the protest shows protesters running wild shouting slogans while flouting all norms and regulations.

The protesters can be heard chanting slogans such as “Jai bole Sonehal” and “BJP sarkar haay haay”. There was massive security deployed at Karnal earlier in order to prevent the protesters from running riot on the streets.

After the ‘Mahapanchayat’ at Anaj Mandi, the protesters marched towards the mini-Secretariat in Karnal.

Internet services have been suspended in Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, and Panipat to prevent law and order situation from deteriorating. SMS services have also been suspended in the region.

“District administration and police have made necessary security arrangements in wake of the Kisan Mahapanchayat. A total of 40 companies have been deployed to maintain law and order. Public activities are going on without interruption,” Karnal SP Ganga Ram Punia had said.

According to reports, the protesters have gheraoed the mini-Secretariat. Talks between the protesters and the district administration have failed to achieve any desired results. The call to gherao the mini-Secretariat was given by the SKM.

The ‘Mahapanchayat’ in Haryana comes days after one in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.

Gujarat: More than 250 AAP workers join BJP ahead of 2022 state assembly elections

The official Twitter account of Bhartiya Janta Party Gujarat Pradesh on Monday announced that as many as 250 Aam Aadmi Party workers have joined the BJP ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections.

“More than 250 Aam Aadmi Party workers from Surat, Junagadh, Navsari and Vadodara joined the Bharatiya Janata Party,” read the party’s Tweet.

Reportedly, AAP’s former state youth president Mahipatsinh Chauhan and Surat district chief Batuk Bhai also abandoned the party to join BJP. Mahipatsihn had tendered his resignation in July over an altercation with his party-men after they cancelled an event to felicitate him.

Whereas Batuk Bhai with dozen others had tendered his resignation recently and was welcomed to the BJP by State Vice President Gordhan Zadafia, General Secretary Pradeep Singh Vaghela and others.

Zadafia claimed that the AAP workers were inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on development. “We are no longer a hapless nation. The country has progressed in every field under the guidance of PM Modi,” asserted Zadafia.

Taking a jibe at AAP’s claim of winning 120 seats in Gujarat, Batuk Bhai who is now with the BJP challenged AAP leader Isudan Gadhvi to name at least five seats that he is confident of winning.

Hardik Patel calls AAP ‘B-team’ of BJP

Seeing the turn in the tide, working president of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Hardik Patel alleged that the AAP was working as BJP’s ‘B-team’ in Gujarat to cut Congress votes.

“It’s very simple. Whenever the BJP sees the situation to their disadvantage they raise a third front in Gujarat. This happened in 2007 with the Mahagujarat Janata Parishad, the Gujarat Parivartan Party in 2012, or be it NCP or BSP, and now it is AAP,” said Patel.

UK: Swindon Hindu Temple vandalized, robbed for the fifth time, cash stolen

The Swindon Hindu Temple in UK was vandalized and robbed for the fifth time. The desecration of the Swindon Hindu Temple was discovered on Saturday morning. The attack is a part of the series of recent vandalizations attempted on the Hindu Temple. The main altar of the temple that seated deities was also vandalized and thousands of pounds of cash was also stolen.

Temple Chairman Pradeep Bharadwaj said, “It is with great regret that I have to inform you about a major incident that happened yesterday at Swindon Hindu Temple, affecting more than 10,000 people in Swindon and thousands more in the region.”

“They have entered the main altar of the temple where the deities are placed, and vandalised that area – this is a highly sanctified and consecrated space where only priests are allowed to enter.” Mr. Bhardwaj also added “This is a matter of great concern and of utmost sensitivity for all Hindus.”. “It’s more than the cash though…ransacking the gods, idols and pictures, people are very enraged.”

“This is the only Hindu temple in this entire area, the county and much beyond, and since it had been closed for most part of the last 18 months, the community was very eagerly looking forward to resume their normal activities, especially since the main Hindu festival period has just started,” he said.

The Swindon Borough Council was informed about the attack and Mr. Bharadwaj pleaded to meet the Police Commissioner and the Chief Constable. The Wiltshire Police requested for information on the incident from the public and its spokesman said, “Our enquiries are ongoing following a break-in at the Swindon Hindu Temple on Darby Close.”

UP Congress shares fake news to malign Yogi Govt and state police: Here is the truth about the Baghpat rape victim who was ‘kidnapped’

With high octane Uttar Pradesh state assembly elections coming up in just a few months’ time, the State Congress has taken to its official Twitter account to fan out yet another misleading news to malign the Yogi Government in Uttar Pradesh.

Sharing a snippet of UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s interview, originally posted by BJP Uttar Pradesh, where Yogi talks about how his government has been tough and unsparing on criminals in the state, Uttar Pradesh Congress slammed Yogi Adityanath for lying on Television. Congress Tweeted: “Not long ago, a rape victim was being led for medicals by Baghpat police when several miscreants appeared in a car and kidnapped the woman right in front of the Uttar Pradesh police.”

No sooner did Congress Tweet, than BJP Uttar Pradesh took to the microblogging site to call out the party for sharing fake news. BJP Uttar Pradesh, shared the Bhagpat police’ sound byte on the aforementioned case to prove how Congress was trying to malign the BJP government by sharing misleading news.

“Fake News Alert”, BJP captioned its Tweet as it shared the Bhagpat police’ sound byte.

The Bhagpat police in the sound byte confirmed that the message regarding the Bhagpat rape victim, which has gone viral on social media, is false.

The victim had registered a complaint against one of her family members accusing him of rape. When the Bhagpat police were about to take the victim for her medicals, she, of her own free will, left with her brother-in-law. As soon as the police learnt that the victim left without any information, a search team was sent to look for her. The police have now found the victim. On being interrogated, the victim confessed that she left with her brother-in-law by preference. Her husband also attested the same and police are investigating the matter, said the Bhagpat police in its sound byte.

Don’t call us terrorists: Banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan issues threat to media houses, journalists

0

A day after Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing attack in Quetta, it has now directed the country’s media houses and journalists to refrain from describing them as ‘terrorist outfit,’ reported Dawn.

In a statement released on Monday (September 6) on social media, TTP spokesperson Mohammad Khurasani informed that the group had been monitoring the media and warned against the use of titles such as ‘extremists’ and ‘terrorists’. He further cautioned that those founding using such terms will be considered as ‘enemies’ of TTP. “Using such terms for TTP showed a partisan role of media and journalists,” Mohammad Khurasani directed.

He further alleged that the Pakistani media labelled the TTP with ‘obnoxious terms’ to please one party. He reiterated that TTP should instead be referred by its original name of ‘Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan’, else the media would be guilty of ‘professional dishonesty’ and ‘creating enemies.’

Screengrab of the statement by TTP

TTP came into existence in 2007 and was banned in August of the following year. Other groups associated with the terror outfit was banned under the National Action Plan (NAP) in 2014. Ironically, the Pakistan government supports the Taliban in Afghanistan but not in its offshoot in Pakistan.

Suicide bombing attack in Quetta

On Sunday (September 5), a suicide blast in Quetta claimed the lives of four men of the Frontier Corps of Pakistan. According to reports, apart from the three dead, 20 others were injured in the attack. The Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) assumed responsibility for the attack. The blast reportedly occurred at 7.30 a.m at Mustang Road in Quetta. The Sohana Khan FC check post was targeted in the attack, the Balochistan Counter-Terrorism Department confirmed.

According to the police, the attacker drove his motorcycle into a vehicle that belonged to the law enforcement agencies. A further investigation into the matter is currently underway. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan condemned the attack in a statement. He said, “Condemn the TTP suicide attack on FC checkpost, Mastung road, Quetta. My condolences go to the families of the martyrs & prayers for the recovery of the injured. Salute our security forces & their sacrifices to keep us safe by thwarting foreign-backed terrorists’ designs.”

After slamming Rakesh Tikait for the Muzaffarnagar riots, Ravish Kumar now hails him for forging Hindu-Muslim unity

Earlier yesterday, the Magsaysay award-winning journalist Ravish Kumar yet again indulged in what he has come to be associated with through his brand of journalism: Duplicity. While hosting the prime time show on NDTV India, Kumar went into raptures for BKU leader Rakesh Tikait, ballyhooing him as a farmer leader who was trying to mend the strained relationship between Hindus and Muslims, years after casting him as a prime accused of inciting Hindu-Muslims riots that took place in Muzaffarnagar in 2013.

Ravish Kumar hails rabble rouser Rakesh Tikait for forging Hindu Muslim unity

Kumar hailed rabble-rouser Rakesh Tikait as a crusader of sorts dedicated to forging Hindu-Muslim unity that he claimed had come under severe strain since 2014, the low-key reference to BJP government at the Centre unmistakable.

“The Prime Minister does not seem inclined to meet Rakesh Tikait and other farmer leaders to hear out their grievances whereas he personally calls athletes and congratulate them for their performances in sporting events,” grumbled Kumar during his monologue. “Perhaps, instead of wasting their time demonstrating, they should participate in sports Kabaddi, Wrestling and other sports to attract his attention.”

“Since 2014, the communal harmony between Hindus and Muslims have been vitiated. Leaders like Rakesh Tikait and other farmer leaders are forging Hindu-Muslim unity through farmer protests. The Prime Minister should devote his time meeting them and placate their concerns,” Kumar pontificated.

Rakesh Tikait inflamed passions that led to riots in Muzaffarnagar: Ravish Kumar in 2013

This was in stark contrast to Kumar’s convictions back in 2013 when he had launched broadsides against Tikait and accused of him inflaming communal tensions with his inflammatory speeches.

In September 2013, Kumar had accused Tikait and BJP of inciting Hindu-Muslim riots to destabilise the then Akhilesh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh.

“There was a meeting organised in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar that seems to have stoked tensions in the region. What was discussed in the meeting was not made public but the police said they had filed FIR against 4 BJP leaders, two BKU leaders, Rakesh Tikait and Narendra Tikait, and a Congress leader for nahin inflammatory speeches,” he said.

The mere presence of BKU leaders, Kumar stressed, meant that the objective of the meeting was not just provoking people by playing on their fears but much more sinister. However, it did not enunciate in definite words what those motivations may be.

Nevertheless, Kumar’s diatribes from 2013 indicated that he held Rakesh Tikait as one of the individuals who were responsible for sowing the seeds of Hindu-Muslim riots that ensued in the aftermath of the Muzaffarnagar meeting.

Now, years later, Kumar is bending over backwards in his attempts to portray Rakesh Tikait as a valiant leader trying to safeguard the secular fabric of the country by fostering Hindu-Muslim unity. Either his assessment of Tikait from 2013 was profoundly wrong when he accused him of driving a wedge between different communities or his current evaluation of Tikait as a paragon of Hindu-Muslim unity is mistaken.

Left-liberal treachery of co-opting unscrupulous individuals to further their propaganda

On the surface, the sudden change in heart of Kumar is rather inexplicable, perhaps even baffling. However, on careful scrutiny, it sheds light on the pernicious modus operandi employed by the left-leaning liberals and journalists—using every available means to discredit the central government and engender resentment among people against them.

In their pursuit to attack the Centre, these bunch of people who sympathise with the Congress ideology, have no qualms in co-opting and legitimising unscrupulous individuals with questionable antecedents. In this case, since Tikait is protesting against the Centre, the already battered left-leaning intellectual class saw in him a natural ally and a ray of hope who could help them in realising their forlorn desire of undermining the Modi government.

The fact that Tikait was accused of hacking away at the Hindu-Muslim unity was an inconsequential detail that needed to be overlooked so that he could be painted as a victim of the Centre’s insensitivity. So, the entire left-leaning media, went into overdrive to glorify him and deride the government for not being considerate enough to address his concerns. Kumar’s attempt to lionise Rakesh Tikait as a leader committed to restoring Hindu-Muslim unity and sweeping under the rug his past deeds seems to be the latest trick out of this left-liberal playbook.
