Ajmer Dargah’s Khadim Salman Chishti threatens to kill Nupur Sharma, offers his own house as bounty to anyone who murders her

On July 5, a video of Ajmer Dargah Khadim Salman Chishti surfaced on social media platforms in which he threatened to kill the former spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nupur Sharma. In the video, Chishti, who is a history-sheeter with over 13 cases filed against him, including murder and attempt to murder, claimed that he would hand over his house to anyone who brings Sharma’s head. A case has been filed by Ajmer Police in the matter.

Notably, a few days ago the head of Ajmer Dargah Zainul Abedin Ali Khan had claimed Indian Muslims would not allow Talibanization in the country.

The video released by Chishti is similar to the one that was created before killing Hindu tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur. It is being said that the video is around 4-5 days old. In the video, he said, “I swear by my elders, I swear by my mother, I will shoot her openly. I swear by my children, whoever brings Nupur Sharma’s head, I will give this house to him.”

Further, he described himself as a ‘true soldier of Khwaja’ and tried to incite Muslims. As per reports, Khadim Gauhar Chishti of Ajmer Dargah had given a provocative speech during a silent procession taken outside the Dargah on June 17, in which slogans of “Gustakh-e-Rasool ki ek hi saza, sar tan se juda’ were raised.

Additional Superintendent of Police Vikas Sangwan said, “The investigation has been initiated in the case after registered FIR under relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code.”

Interestingly, after Kanhaiya Lal was murdered, Ajmer Dargah Deewan Zainul Abedin Ali Khan claimed that Muslims in India would never allow the Talibanisation mindset to become a norm in the country.

In a statement, he said, “No religion promotes violence against humanity. Especially in the religion of Islam, all the teachings act as sources of peace. In the gruesome video that surfaced on the internet, some non-ethical minds committed a brutal attack on a poor man, which is received as a punishable sin in the Islamic world.”

On the one hand, the head of the Dargah talks about peace, while on the other hand, the Khadims of the Dargah provoke Muslims to kill Nupur Sharma.

Chhattisgarh police tries to arrest Zee News journalist from Ghaziabad for mistake in airing news related to Rahul Gandhi

Zee News journalist Rohit Ranjan on Tuesday took to Twitter to inform that without informing the local police, as required by the law for transit remand, Chhattisgarh Police was at his residence in Uttar Pradesh to pick him up.

To this, the Raipur police claimed that there was ‘no such rule to inform’ but despite that, the local police has now been informed. Raipur Police then advised Rohit Ranjan that he should ‘cooperate’ and join the investigation and put his defence in the court.

Ghaziabad Police has said that they are aware of the development and have reached Rohit Ranjan’s place.

Police has informed that procedures will be carried out as per rules.

FIRs were filed against Ranjan by Congress in Jaipur for running a video byte of senior Congress leader and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi in wrong context earlier this month. Rahul Gandhi was commenting on vandalism of Congress office by SFI ‘activists’ in Kerala’s Wayanad where he referred to them as ‘children’ who ‘make mistakes’. His comments came soon after the brutal killing of Hindu man Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur by Islamists for supporting ex-BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma over her remarks on Prophet Muhammad. Zee Hindustan journalist Ranjan by mistake had alleged that the said quote was Rahul Gandhi condoning Kanhaiya Lal’s killers.

However, within hours, the contentious report was taken down and Ranjan had apologised on air for the same and expressed regret. Now, it seems another case has been registered against him in another Congress-ruled state, Chhattisgarh and the police have come to arrest him.

In inter-state arrest, the police of other state must inform local police station in whose jurisdiction investigation needs to be carried. The police must also seek cooperation from destination police station and an entry will be made for the same. Subsequent process of the CrPC (Criminal Penal Code) need to be followed and before the accused is being taken out of state, he/she must be produced in local police station and an entry is made in Daily Diary.

Note: This is a breaking story, we shall update when more information is available.

Amravati chemist murder: Police Commissioner denies reports of a cover-up, says official statement wasn’t given earlier because it was a “blind and sensitive” case

On Monday, 4th of July, Amravati Police Commissioner Arti SIngh dismissed reports that police were trying a ‘cover-up’ in the murder case of Umesh Kolhe. On the night of 22nd June 2022, Chemist Umesh Kolhe was killed by some Islamists in Amravati of Maharashtra for allegedly sharing a social media post supporting former Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Nupur Sharma

Speaking to ANI, the Commissioner said that they did not issue an official statement earlier as it was a blind and sensitive case for them. However, she denied reports that there was any attempt to cover up the nature of the crime.

Commissioner Arti Singh also denied media reports that police had tried to make it a case of theft and robbery initially. Commissioner Singh said that the initial FIR has no mention of theft or robbery and only the suspects were named in it. Since it was a blind case for them, they did not add any further details before investigating the case.

She also argued that if police had tried to cover up, then the subsequent details about the case won’t have emerged. She said that even BJP Rajya Sabha MP met her regarding the case and saw all the details and the progress police were making in the investigation. However, she said that she knows who is making allegations of a cover-up against the police. Amravati MP Navneet Rana had raised questions about the initial police investigation in recent days.

In the attack, Kolhe was attacked with a knife from the back of his neck and he was seriously injured. With heavy blood overflowing, Kolhe died on the spot.

As per the investigation, Kolhe’s old friend Dr. Yusuf Khan had instigated his murder over some whatsapp messages shared by Kolhe.

Delhi: Hindu Sena president gets death threats from Islamists in India and Pakistan after organising Hanuman Chalisa event to support Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal

Deepak Malik, the president of the Delhi chapter of Hindu Sena, filed a complaint with the Delhi police on July 1, 2022. In his complaint, Malik stated that he has been subjected to repeated abuse and death threats following a Hanuman Chalisa event his outfit organised on June 20 in support of ex-BJP leaders Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal.

Copy of complaint filed by Hindu Sena leader Deepak Malik

The Hindu Sena leader has provided a list of twenty-two numbers from which he has been receiving repeated threats and abuses since the June 20th event that was organised at the Vishwagiri temple in Rajouri Garden, Delhi.

Deepak Malik has written in his complaint, that he has been receiving abusive calls and Whatsapp messages from the aforementioned numbers, some of which are unidentified international numbers from Pakistan. He has urged the Delhi police to trace the numbers from which he has been receiving threats and demanded that the offenders face harsh punishment.

Deepak Malik also sought protection for himself and his family, fearing for their safety in the wake of the beheading of Kanhaiya Lal. Lal, a Hindu tailor was beheaded in Udaipur on 28th June 2022 by two Islamists Mohammad Riyaz and Ghouse Mohammad for supporting Nupur Sharma on social media.

OpIndia spoke to Hindu Sena’s Delhi chapter president Deepak Malik, and the Hindu leader shared with us some screenshots of the abusive texts he had been receiving from Islamists ever since his organization organized the event to condemn the persecution of Nupur Sharma for citing Islamic Hadiths about the Prophet Muhammad.

He asserted that, in contrast to how the media has portrayed the situation, some of his team members had brought a few swords from the Gurudwara and their houses during the June 20th Hanuman Chalisa event. They distributed these swords among some distinguished guests as a symbolic gesture of their commitment to safeguarding Hindus from the ongoing attacks by fanatical Islamists.

Notably, news organisations like The New Indian Express and Sabrang covered the Hindu Sena event. They carefully structured the narrative to imply that the Hindu outfit had distributed swords at the gathering to incite violence against the Islamists.

“We had recited Hanuman Chalisa to condemn the recent attacks on Hindus like Kanhaiya Lal and show solidarity and support to Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal who have been at the receiving end of the Islamist wrath. We didn’t say anything controversial, not one of us. On social media, there were videos and images of the event where some of our members could be seen giving a few swords to certain important attendees as a symbolic gesture. Some media outlets exaggerated this issue. My phone number was printed on a banner at the event. Since the pictures of the event went viral, I started receiving abusive and threatening messages and calls from unknown numbers, some of them belonging to Pakistan. Although I had been blocking all of these numbers, the threat calls and messages continued, so I approached the Delhi police to lodge a formal complaint about the same,” Deepak told OpIndia.

The Hindu Sena leader went on to say that he has requested protection for himself and his family members and urged the police to track the numbers. “The SHO has been very helpful and has promised swift action in the case,” added Deepak.

Additionally, OpIndia tried to obtain information from the Truecaller app on each of the twenty-two numbers that Deepak Malik shared. Even though some of them were spam, a large majority were registered using Muslim names. There was also a Russian and a Pakistani number on the list.

Meanwhile, based on Deepak Malik’s complaint, the Nihal Vihar police station in South West Delhi filed an FIR on July 1 and is investigating the matter.

Assam: Mithu Hussain Laskar and Kabul Khan arrested for damaging embankment of Barak river leading to catastrophic floods in Silchar

According to reports, two people have been arrested in Assam’s Cachar district in connection with the breaking of the Barak river embankment, which resulted in a catastrophic flood in Silchar. Mithu Hussain Laskar and Kabul Khan have been recognised as the arrested persons.

Laskar was apprehended on Saturday, while Khan was nabbed on Friday night. Ramandeep Kaur, Superintendent of Police in Cachar, confirmed their arrest. She stated that the police were further investigating the issue.

On May 24, the Water Resources Department filed a police complaint against unknown miscreants for breaking through the embankment at Bethukandi, some 3 kilometres from the town centre, to allow rainwater from a marsh to pour into the Barak river.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had earlier stated that the flood was a man-made calamity and that those responsible will face harsh punishment. Sarma said on Friday that six persons have been identified as the perpetrators of the embankment collapse that caused a deadly flood in Silchar town.

Kabul Khan apparently shot a video of the rupture, which the Chief Minister apparently showed to locals during a visit to the Cachar district embankment site. Sarma was seen asking people to identify the speakers in the video.

“The Bethukandi incident is a big lesson for us. The next time there is a flood, we have to post policemen at the embankment so that nobody can breach it. Regarding the Bethukandi breach, CID has been asked to register a case in Guwahati. Now the case for the Silchar flood shall be registered in Guwahati, people shall be interrogated in Guwahati and all investigations shall be done from Guwahati,” said CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Assam’s flood crisis deteriorated on Friday, with 14 more lives lost, bringing the death toll to 173, and a population of 29.70 lakh people impacted across 30 districts. Many areas of Cachar district’s badly impacted Silchar town remain submerged. The Chief Minister presented a cheque for Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the ten people who lost their lives in the Silchar disaster during his recent visit.

The Saharanpur administration had sent notices to Haji Iqbal regarding his illegal properties. Upon not receiving a satisfactory reply, his house in New Bhagat Singh Colony of Saharanpur was demolished on Monday (July 4).

It must be mentioned that Haji Iqbal, his brother Mehmood, and his children have been booked in several cases. His son Javed, who was wanted in a 10,000 crore scam case, was arrested in May this year by the Special Investigation Team of Saharanpur Police.

SSP Akash Tomar had informed, “Javed was arrested on a tip-off from Mirzapur region, where he is involved in several criminal activities.” Iqbal’s son, Mohammed Alishan, was arrested in May from Lajpat Nagar in Delhi.

The former BSP MLC’s two children, Wajid and Afzal are still on the run from the law enforcement authorities.

All have been booked for rape under Pocso Act.” The incident reportedly took place a couple of years ago.

Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair taken to Sitapur over a case related to inflaming religious sentiments by abusing Hindu saints: Details

On Monday (July 4), the Delhi police brought Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair to Sitapur in connection with a case registered against him in Uttar Pradesh. The case pertains to the derogatory comments made by Zubair against three Hindu saints in May this year.

In a video shared by news agency ANI, Zubair was seen following the lead of the Delhi Police in Sitapur, where a case was registered against him for inflaming religious sentiments with his comments on the Hindu saints.

The Background of the Controversy

In a tweet on May 27, Mohammed Zubair took a swipe at Times Now anchor Navika Kumar and labelled Yati Narasinghanand Saraswati, Mahant Bajrang Muni and Anand Swaroop as hate mongers.

His tweet read, “Why do we need Hate Mongers like Yati Narasinghanand Saraswati or Mahant Bajrang Muni or Anand Swaroop to arrange a Dharam Sansad to speak against a community and a Religion when we already have Anchors who can do a much better job from News Studios.”

Five days later, the Khairabad Police in the Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh filed a First Investigation Report (FIR) against Zubair for using derogatory language against the trio.

The FIR was registered based on the complaint of Bhagwan Sharan, district head of Rashtriya Hindu Sher Sena, under sections 295(A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

In his complaint, Sharan said, “On May 27, Mohammed Zubair used derogatory remarks against Mahant Bajrang Muni Udasin Ji by using the term ‘Hate Mongers’ for him from his Twitter handle. He also abused Yati Narsinghanand and Swami Anand Swaroop.”

He further clarified there was no enmity of Mahant Bajrang Muni Udasin with Mohammed Zubair. “He (Zubair) did it to intentionally spread hatred in the society and hurt religious sentiments of Hindus under a well thought out conspiracy,” Sharan emphasised.

Mohammed Zubair is currently under judicial custody in Delhi facing charges related to hurting religious sentiments with his tweet, he is also under investigation for tampering with the evidence and FCRA violations.

Islamic terrorism in Amravati: How two others were threatened and made to share apology videos for sharing post in support of Nupur Sharma

Following the assassination of chemist Umesh Kolhe by Islamists in Amravati, Maharashtra, various media reports have emerged suggesting that Islamists targeted many other Hindus because they posted WhatsApp statuses in favour of ex-BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.

As per a report by India Today, two other people were threatened by Islamists and asked to apologise by recording a video of their apology. The call recordings of the two reveal how they were intimidated by the Islamists and forced to apologise.

One such call was made to Dr Gopal Rathi from Amravati. Dr Rathi was called by someone from Rahebar Helpline, the NGO run by the killers of Umesh Kolhe, as per the India Today report. During the call, the caller said that he was offended by the WhatsApp status put by Dr Rathi and that it will be detrimental for him as he knows him very well. To which, Dr Rathi responded that he will remove the status if it is offending anyone. Dr Rathi was asked to apologise by making a video.

Accepting the demands of the callers, Dr Rathi shot a video in which he said, “I had put a status regarding Nupur Sharma. I had no intention to hurt the sentiments of any religion or caste or person. But, still, if someone is hurt, then I apologize to them from my heart. Also, I promise that there will be no such mistake in future.”

Another Amravati resident named Vijay received a similar threat call for sharing a WhatsApp status in favour of Nupur Sharma. Vijay received a phone call from someone threatening to ‘see’ him at his shop. The caller warned him of dire consequences if he did not make a video and apologise. Vijay, fearing for his life, also recorded a video apologising for posting the aforementioned WhatsApp status. The police have finally taken the matter into consideration and launched a formal investigation in this case.

It is notable that these threat calls were made prior to the murder of Umesh Kolhe who was killed by Islamists in Amravati of Maharashtra for allegedly sharing a social media post supporting Nupur Sharma.

Mamata Banerjee defends her ‘jihad against BJP’ comment, says its local language of Bengal: What she said

After receiving harsh criticism, Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, defended her recent ‘Jihad against BJP’ comment at India Today Conclave East 2022, calling it the state’s local language. The TMC supremo was speaking at the 2022 India Today Conclave when she went on to defend her contentious remark.

Addressing a public gathering in Asansol earlier this week, Banerjee called upon her party cadres and supporters to launch a ‘jihad’ against the BJP from July 21, a day her party observes as ‘shahid diwas’ (martyr’s day).

When Rajdeep Sardesai, a ‘journalist’ for India Today, questioned the TMC leader about her explicit call for ‘jihad’ against the saffron party, which the BJP claimed was a clear threat to kill all of its workers and supporters in Bengal, the TMC chief gave a bizarre explanation to justify her call for violence. She said, “there are some local languages. Sometimes, Hindi and Urdu become one language. Marathi and Gujarati are similar, likewise, Bangali and Assamese languages have a lot of similarities. I understand Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi… on our side, in our local language, we said that in protest against the BJP. ‘Jihad’ in our local language means strong protest,” explained the WB CM.

Moving on, the WB CM also claimed that the heinous post-election violence that broke out in her state of West Bengal after her party regained power in May 2021 was a BJP-created drama. Throughout her conversation with India Today ‘journalist’ Rajdeep Sardesai, the WB CM admonished the BJP of conniving and lying against her and her party.

It may be recalled after Mamata Banerjee openly threatened the BJP party with ‘jihad’, the latter had complained to state Governor Jagdeep Dhankar. The Governor wrote to Banerjee Wednesday (June 29) asking her to withdraw the “unconstitutional declaration” which he also termed “authoritarian and undemocratic”.

Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition, hit out at Mamata Banerjee saying her hate speech indicated her “jihadi” mindset. The BJP had also demanded Banerjee’s dismissal for her call for violence against the opposition party.

Adhikari asserted Mamata Banerjee issued the appeal for ‘jihad’ against BJP keeping in mind her Muslim vote bank. “This is part of her vote bank politics. She has encouraged Islamist and terror outfits to set up their bases in Bengal and has now given the call for jihad against the BJP,” he said.

Mamata Banerjee’s ‘Khela Hobe’ and the weaponisation of political violence

It may be recalled how the TMC supremo had coined Khela Hobe’, the genocidal election slogan during the state elections last year. Mamata Banerjee had also launched her “Khela Hobe Diwas’ on exactly the same day when Pakistan’s founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah of the Muslim League had launched the horrific “Direct Action Day” against Hindus in 1946.

Initially, the slogan appeared as a harmless jibe against the opposition but soon started to showcase its true colours. TMC members made a wall painting in Bengal wherein Mamata Banerjee was seen hitting PM Modi’s head instead of a football. During her election rallies, the West Bengal Chief Minister continued to provoke her party workers to retaliate against the central armed forces and BJP workers. Several instances of violence were reported during the various stages of polling. Following the declaration of the 2021 assembly poll results, Bengal was in the throes of horrifying violence as TMC goons murdered, plundered and raped BJP supporters across the state.
