In a strange incident, a Bangalore Mirror ‘journalist’ who was apparently offended by OpIndia’s coverage of the anti-Hindu Delhi riots has launched a non-stop rant against OpIndia Editor Nupur J Sharma. She has spammed Sharma’s emails and DMs with her rants.

The self-proclaimed journalist named Madhusree Gowswami has been sending emails and messages on Twitter to the OpIndia Editor complaining about various OpIndia reports. A lot of her emails were ignored or deleted thinking that it was some bot sending spams. Her Twitter and LinkedIn profiles show that she works with the Bangalore Mirror and had earlier worked with Deccan Herald.

She sent a message on Twitter calling the OpIndia Editor ‘dog’ for a report on the Babri verdict.

She had earlier sent lengthy emails regarding OpIndia reports on anti-Hindu Northeast Delhi riots questioning OpIndia’s credibility. In one of the mails, she even gave a list of the names she claimed to be the victims of the Delhi riots to sound convincing.

Though we are not sure why she sent the list containing names of riot victims, as OpIndia had extensively covered all aspects of the riots, even published a book about it. Maybe she wanted to prove that she is not a bot and can perform comprehensive tasks like a normal human.

When her claims were finally responded to by OpIndia, she gave sermons on professionalism and journalism, spectacularly ignoring the irony that she is spamming an editor’s emails and DMs with ad hominem attacks and random rants. Even more painful is the irony that she cited habitual fake news peddler ‘The Wire’ to support her argument.

She also claimed that the Delhi Riots were neither anti-Hindu or anti-Muslim, they were ‘just riots’. Yes, ‘just riots’, like some people suddenly woke up one fine morning and decided they are bored and went on doing riots, killing policemen, burning cars, chopping limbs and storing stones, Molotov cocktails on rooftops because they were ‘just rioting’.

We acknowledge and respect the fact that this Madhusree is entitled to her personal views. What we don’t understand here is why a Bengaluru Mirror ‘journalist’ is venting her frustrations over emails and DMs to the editor of a digital portal.

Also, despite having written numerous lengthy emails to OpIndia and spamming the Email and Twitter Inbox of the OpIndia editor, Goswami said that she did not want to engage in a conversation, calling the OpIndia editor as ‘fanatic’. Why would a sane person send lengthy emails, DMs repeatedly and then claim they don’t want a conversation is beyond our comprehension.

A gangrape has been reported in Baran, Rajasthan. As per the reports, two minor girls were abducted from Baran. The accused took the girls to Kota, Jaipur, and Ajmer. As per a report in Zee News, they were allegedly gang-raped for three days.

According to the report, the girls’ father informed the police about the incident and took them to the girls. Police brought the girls and one minor accused to the police station. The father has urged police to help him get justice. When the girls tried to tell police officers about the incident, the accused threatened to kill them in front of the police.

Rapes happen when unemployed men can’t get married: Former SC Judge Markandey Katju’s bizarre explanation for Hathras case

Former SC Judge Markandey Katju, who has been in and out the limelight for controversial reasons because of his statements, has written a post on Facebook condemning the Hathras gang rape. Though he has called for harsh punishment for the culprits, Katju blamed the incident on unemployment and sexual urge.

In his post, he said ‘sexual urge in men should be considered in such cases’. “It is sometimes said that after food, the next requirement is sex. India has a conservative society, and most men get sexually active only through marriage. He added because no girl will marry an unemployed man, and there is a surge in unemployment in the country; men are being deprived of sex”, the former SC judge wrote.

“The population of undivided India before 1947 was about 42 crores. Today India alone has about 135 crore people, which means there has been a fourfold increase in population. But the number of jobs increased is far less than fourfold. In fact, it is believed that in June 2020 alone, 12 crore Indians lost their jobs. Therefore will there not be [an] increase in rapes?” he asked.

According to him, “if we really want to end or reduce rapes we have to create a social and economic system in India in which there is no or little unemployment.” Ignoring that he has indirectly implied that married and employed men do not commit rape, he asserted repeatedly that he is not justifying rapes, rather condemning them.

The post was made on Facebook, and its screenshot is being widely shared on other social media platforms. The netizens are outraged over the comment made by someone who held an important post in the Indian Judicial System.

‘In Yogi Adityanath’s state, sometimes police cars carrying culprits overturn’: BJP Leader Kailash Vijayvargiya on Hathras case

Speaking to the media on the Hathras rape case, BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya assured that the culprits responsible for the incident will be punished for their actions. He referred to incidents of police cars overturning in Uttar Pradesh to assert that the accused, who have been arrested and sent for fast-track court, will be soon brought to justice.

In response to a question by a journalist about police negligence, Vijayvargiya said, “All the accused in the case have been arrested. They are sent to a fast-track court, which will send them to jail for their actions. We should have faith in the UP government, because in Yogi Adityanath’s state, sometimes police cars carrying culprits flip over.”

Vijayvargiya’s comments about cars overturning in Uttar Pradesh came in the context of the recent incidents where cars transporting criminals met with an accident, inevitably leading to their death or encounter.

Past incidents of toppling of UP police car while transporting criminals

In July this year, a history-sheeter named Vikas Dubey was eliminated by the UP police in an encounter while he was being transported to Kanpur from Madhya Pradesh. As per UP Police, the encounter broke out between Vikas Dubey and the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) after the gangster tried to flee. Reportedly, the police car toppled over after meeting with an accident. After the accident, Vikas Dubey tried to snatch the weapon of an injured policeman and attempted to flee. It was then that the police fired in retaliation, killing the gangster.

More recently, a couple of days ago, the UP police car overturned in Madhya Pradesh on its way to Lucknow. As per the reports, there were five passengers, one gangster named Feroz Ali, his brother-in-law and three police personnel in the car. The police personnel got injured while the arrested gangster died in the accident.

The Hathras incident

In what traspired on September 14, the victim had gone to the field to collect fodder when a group of men attacked her from behind. The teenager was dragged by a dupatta around her neck, which probably caused the spinal injuries, to a field where she was allegedly raped.

The accused, who was nabbed on Saturday, had tried to strangulate her to death as she resisted them. In the process, she had ended up biting her tongue and suffering a severe cut on it, police had said.

UPSC prelim exams to be held on October 4, SC dismisses pleas seeking postponement

The Supreme Court today dismissed a petition seeking the postponement of the UPSC Preliminary Examination 2020 scheduled to be held on October 4. A Bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar, BR Gavai and Krishna Murari gave the go-ahead to the UPSC to conduct the exam on the scheduled date complying with the Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Home Ministry.

The UPSC has been asked to go ahead with the exams to be held in 2569 centres in 72 cities on October 4.

COVID positive candidates should be under quarantine: Supreme Court

The UPSC Preliminary Examination which was earlier scheduled for May 13 was postponed twice by the UPSC. The exam was first rescheduled to take place on June 5 and then was further postponed to October 4 due to the pandemic. The Supreme Court did not allow separate isolation rooms for Covid positive candidates to appear in the exam. The court said that as per medical protocol such persons are required to be under quarantine. The UPSC said in the court that the candidates exhibiting the symptoms of cough and cold will be seated in a separate room.

Last Attempt Rule

Some candidates who are giving their last attempt and are facing age limit disqualification to appear next year requested the court for the relaxation of the rule in case case they failed to appear in the exam due to Covid. The court asked the central government to take an expeditious decision on this regard.

Inter-State Travel

The Supreme Court said that the candidates travelling between states for the purpose of appearing in the examination should be permitted to travel after checking their admit cards. A suggestion requesting merger of this year’s preliminary examination with that of the next year was rejected by the court.

The court also dismissed other claims, such as corona warriors being unable to appear for examinations, lack of transport facilities and closure of colleges and libraries affecting the preparations of aspiring students, for lack of substance.

Liberals fume after special CBI court acquits all the accused in Babri Masjid Demolition Case

A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on Wednesday acquitted all 32 accused in the illegal demolition of the Babri structure, citing lack of evidence. The accused included BJP leaders LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, former ministers Uma Bharti and Kalyan Singh, among others.

The court observed that it was spontaneous demolition of the structure by the kar sevaks, and it was neither pre-planned nor a part of a wider conspiracy to bring down the contentious complex. Therefore, the leaders accused in the case were acquitted as no pre-planned conspiracy was established.

Liberals suffer a meltdown after court absolves all 32 accused

The acquittal of all the accused in the case predictably triggered a meltdown among the ‘liberal’ intelligentsia, who couldn’t hide their profound sorrow over the court verdict. Several liberals descended to popular microblogging website Twitter to express their anguish over the acquittal of all the accused in the Babri demolition case.

‘Journalist’ Saba Naqvi, long known for bringing disgrace to the profession of journalism and habitually indulging in shielding Islamists and demonising Hindus, was crestfallen after the special court absolved all the accused in the Babri demolition case. Insinuating that the verdict was influenced by BJP being in power, a despondent Saba lamented that why should the saffron party be blamed alone when Congress regimes could have “prosecuted forcefully”.

Controversial journalist Rana Ayyub who is known for her unbridled hatred towards Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and the BJP, took to Twitter to convey her dismay over the court ruling. Disappointed at the verdict, Rana posted a sarcastic tweet, mocking the judiciary of the country.

Limiting responses to her tweet, Rana tweeted, “Yayyy. Justice, India style.”

Arfa Khanum, a journalist associated with leftist propaganda website ‘The Wire’, a portal notorious for rationalising and defending the nefarious activities carried out by Islamists, appeared rattled by the special court’s decision to exonerate the accused. In a tweet, Khanum asked questions about those responsible for felling the controversial structure, killing of 1800 people in the ensuing riots and defined the incident as crimes “committed on the soul of India”.

A despicable troll masquerading as ‘journalist’, Swati Chaturvedi, infamous for conjuring up her interview with BJP leader George Fernandes, took to Twitter to take a swipe at the court verdict. Flustered by the acquittals, Swati noted that the judgment discredited the felling of the controversial structure and alleged that “Hoh Gaya kaam, Jai Shree Ram” was a popular BJP slogan following the demolition.

The co-founder of ‘The Wire’, Siddharth Varadarajan was disconcerted at the special CBI court acquitting the accused in the Babri demolition case. Varadarajan, still smarting from the last year’s historic judgment by the Supreme Court granting the disputed land to Hindus, declared that in India crime pays and said that the only way to square the immoral circle after last year’s judgment was to absolve all the accused.

Former NDTV employee, also chimed in, saying that the disputed structure fell on its own.

After vilifying for years that the controversial structure was demolished by BJP and Hindutva supporters, Sagarika Ghose couldn’t bring herself to stomach the fact that the court had acquitted all the accused in the case. “Nobody demolished the Babri Masjid,” Ghose tweeted.

Court said there was no conspiracy or pre-planning in the felling of Babri structure

The verdict for the much waited in the Babri Masjid demolition case was delivered by a special court in UP today. In the historic judgement, the court acquitted all 32 persons accused in the case. BJP leaders BJP leaders LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti were among the accused in the case, who have been acquitted by the court.

The court said that the demolition of the disputed structure was not pre-planned, and hence there was no conspiracy to demolish it. The court also said that CBI didn’t bring any substantial proof against the accused that they had planned to demolish the structure.

After the verdict of the Special CBI court that acquitted all the 32 accused in the disputed Babri structure demolition case, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the Congress Party should now apologise to the whole country.

Taking a dig at the Congress party, CM Yogi said that the Congress Party framed BJP leaders, saints and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders under false charges in the disputed Babri structure demolition case. He said that the party should apologise to the country for this conspiracy.

Court’s Verdict

In the Babri structure demolition case, the court acquitted all the 32 accused persons who included BJP stalwarts like LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti. The court said that the CBI could not produce substantial evidence to prove that the accused had planned to pull down the structure. The Special CBI court said that the demolition of the structure was not a pre-planned conspiracy and that it happened at the spur of the moment. Special CBI court has acquitted all 32 accused in the demolition of the disputed structure in Ayodhya on 30th September 2020. The court said that CBI has failed to prove the case against the accused. Two veteran BJP leaders Lal Krishna Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, who were also accused in the case, have issued statements.

LK Advani’s statement

In his statement, Advani said, “the judgment in the said is the case is significant. It is a time of celebrations for everyone.” Advani and Joshi were not present in the court due to old age and Covid-19 restrictions.

Murli Manohar Joshi’s statement

Joshi said the Rath Yatra was to inform people about the true history and to urge them to support in the construction of Bhavya Ram Mandir. “The judgment proves that no conspiracy was hatched during the movement. It was a lawful event in a democratic nation. Everyone is happy. I believe that the controversy should end here, and the whole nation should come together to build Ram Mandir,” he added.

The disputed structure was demolished in December 1992.

Liberals misinterpret Babri verdict, insinuate that by acquitting all the accused the court meant that dispute structure of Babri Masjid was not demolished

As the Special CBI court pronounced the verdict in the Babri Masjid demolition case and acquitted all the accused, the liberals are having a hard time accepting the verdict. Unsurprisingly, the moment the Special CBI acquitted all the 32 accused who included senior BJP leaders L K Advani, Uma Bharti, Murli Manohar Joshi and Sadhvi Ritambhara, the liberals started with their usual rants coupled with plain dumbness displayed by their misinterpretation of the verdict.

The Special CBI judge SK Yadav observed that the accused were in fact trying to stop the mob from demolishing the mosque. While the court said that there was no preplanned conspiracy to demolish the disputed structure and that it happened at the spur of the moment, the liberals interpreted that the court was saying that the masjid was not demolished.

Misinterpreting the court verdict, one such liberal insinuated that the court ruled that the mosque was not demolished at all.

Some liberal journalists also joined the rants and displayed the dearth of brains by misinterpreting the verdict. One such journalist said that as per the verdict no one demolished the masjid.

General Secretary of suspicious extremist organisation Popular Front of India (PFI), Anis Ahmed gave sermons on justice after the court’s verdict and said that by acquitting the accused, the court meant that Babri mosque was not demolished. He added that the verdict “buried justice”.

The Wire ‘journalist’ Arfa Khanum Sherwani who is often seen peddling fake news, termed the Babri masjid demolition a crime “committed on the soul of India” and questioned the verdict saying that if all the accused are acquitted then who demolished the mosque.

This interpretation that Court has said nobody demolished Babri masjid is incorrect because the court didn’t mean that. The court verdict is in relation to the 32 accused in the case, most of whom are leaders of various organisations like BJP, VHP etc. They were not directly involved the demolition, and the charge against them was they had conspired to demolish the structure and instructed the kar sevaks to do so. But this allegation of the pre-planned conspiracy was not proved during the CBI probe, and that’s why they were acquitted.

It may be noted that the mosque was demolished by a large number of kar sevaks, and one of the two FIRs filed in the case was against ‘lakhs of kar sevaks’. The other FIR named the leaders accusing them of instigating the demolition. As that charge was found incorrect, and in fact it was found that they tried to stop the unruly mob, the court acquitted them.

The FIR mentioned some kar sevaks, but the charges against them could not be proved, resulting in their acquittal. It may be noted that although lakhs of kar sevaks were made accused in the case, charges against them have to be proved individually.
