‘Team Licy’ makes India’s Greta Thunberg whitewash the role of stubble burning in Delhi air pollution crisis: Details

Climate activist Licypriya Kangujam, India’s very own Greta Thunberg, has come out and issued a statement where she has whitewashed the role of stubble burning in causing air pollution. Her defense of stubble burning was that it is a practice that has been performed for thousands of years but air pollution is a recent phenomenon.

In the video clip that was shared through her Twitter account, Licypriya Kangujam says, “Air pollution has been started in Delhi in 2015-16 only. There are various reasons for the air pollution crisis in Delhi. Instead of blaming our poor farmers, we have to shut down all the coal power plants, we need more bicycle lanes in Delhi and other parts of India and the world. Also, we want to revive the Aravalli Forest dying due to deforestation and mining.”

The comments came after people questioned Greta Thunberg why she was allying with protesters that cause grievous damage to the environment and contribute to air pollution. Consequently, Licypriya Kangujam came forward with the defense.

However, the nine-year old climate activist is not clear on her facts. Until recently, paddy planted in April-May was harvested in September-October. Therefore, even if there was stubble burning, then the winds moving in and around the national capital used to carry the smoke away, preventing a smog from developing.

In 2009, Punjab and Haryana enacted laws that delayed the sowing of rice crop as a consequence of which the harvesting was pushed to October-November, at a time when the winds were stationary. Another factor that played a part is the increased mechanisation of the farms. Therefore, her whitewashing of the contribution of stubble burning to air pollution in Delhi is quite blatantly off the mark.

It is quite obvious here that the guardians of Licypriya Kangujam are looking for some quick publicity by preseting the right-year old as the face of their activism. It is no secret that activism is a very lucrative business in the 21st century.

Now that Greta Thunberg has inadvertently exposed the Khalistani hand behind the global campaign against India, her Indian counterpart has been deployed to counter the negative propaganda. The propagandists are using the innocence of a 9 year old child to further their sinister agenda.

It has been reported widely that the supposed achievements of the child activist were fake and her father was a con man. An investigation by Imphal Free Press revealed that her entire ‘UN invite’ was a sham and a cooked up story by her father, Kangujam Kanarjit. Nevertheless, the mainstream media fell for the story hook, line and sinker and propelled her to stardom where she now has a verified Twitter account.

Kerala: Hindu Aikya Vedi leader RV Babu, who called for boycott of halal products, arrested to appease Islamic fundamentalists, says BJP

RV Babu, general secretary, Hindu Aikya Vedi, Kerala, has been arrested by Kerala police for allegedly calling for a boycott of a bakery that sells halal food.

The Hindu Aikya Vedi and the RSS have been on a major campaign in Kerala against Halal certification. Halal certification has been made compulsory in various food joints and provision shops by a section of the populace. The Hindu Aikya Vedi had come out against this with a counter campaign. Questioning whether Kerala is an Islamic state for initiating police case against those who speak against Halal, BJP Kerala President said, “The CPM and the Kerala Chief Minister are trying to appease Islamic fundamentalists and this has been continuing in the state for several years.”

He further said that the CPM government aims at the assembly elections scheduled in May 2021. “this is blatant appeasement of the Islamic fundamentalists,” he added.

Hindu Aikya Vedi activists were arrested in January for opposing Halal Bakery

In January, Hindu Aikya Vedi activists had allegedly forced a bakery called ‘Mody’ to remove the ‘Halal’ sticker. As per reports, Arun Aravind, the organization’s Parakkadavu unit president, had visited the bakery. He asked for non-halal food, but the bakery informed him that they only serve halal food.

The organisation issued a notice to remove the tag, which went viral on social media. The police intervened and arrested Aravind and three others. A case was registered against them, after which they were released on bail. The organization has now intensified the campaign against halal branding and planning to seek a ban on such products and services.

As per the reports, he was arrested and then released on bail because he will appear before the court on February 8. As per the police’s statement, on January 29, a case was registered against him. A notice was served to him to take part in the investigation. However, he had failed to appear. “A case was registered on January 29, but since he had not appeared despite notice, we arrested him. He has been released on bail on the condition that he will appear before the court on February 8. Babu had, through social media, too urged the people to boycott the halal certification,” police said.

RV Babu has been charged under Section 153 A, which is non-bailable.

Christian groups against Halal

Ahead of Christmas, Christian groups in Kerala also called for a boycott of Halal meat. Church’s Auxiliary for Social Action (CASA) of Kochi had urged Christians not to buy Halal food anymore. Hindu groups had extended support to the call. The Indian Union Muslim League had termed the campaign a controversy to target Muslims.

What is Halal meat?

Halal is a form of slaughter that is allowed in Islam. It can be performed only by a Muslim man. Thus, any place that offers Halal meat automatically denied employment to the non-Muslim community. There are guidelines available at the official website of a certification authority of Halal in India, which makes it clear that non-Muslim employees cannot be employed in any part of the slaughtering process.

The guidelines of the certification authority of Halal in India expressly mention that people employed to carry out the process of Halal must be Muslims. The guidelines clearly mention that animals slaughtered by a non-Muslim will not be Halal. Apart from halal meat, halal certification is also available for other products.

Uttarakhand disaster: Over 100 feared dead, relief and rescue operations on, Air Force, other disaster relief forces on standby

More than 100-150 people may have been dead or severely injured due to the flash floods in Chamoli district.

According to the reports, Uttarakhand Chief Secretary OM Prakash said 100-150 casualties feared in the floods caused due to the breaking down of a glacier near a power project at Raini village in Tapovan area of Chamoli district.

A glacier broke off near Joshimath in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district on Sunday, causing a massive flood in the Dhauliganga river and endangering the lives of people living along its banks. The authorities fear massive destruction for lives and damage to the properties.

The flooding occurred due to cloudburst and the subsequent breaching of a reservoir near Raini village that has destroyed many river bankside houses in the area.

More than 150 labourers at the power project affected

State Disaster Response Force DIG Ridhim Aggarwal said that more than 150 labourers working at the Rishi Ganga power project might have been directly affected. Hundreds of ITBP personnel have rushed to the spot to rescue the villagers.

Prime Minister Modi said that he was constantly monitoring the unfortunate situation in Uttarakhand. He tweeted, “India stands with Uttarakhand and the nation prays for everyone’s safety there. Have been continuously speaking to senior authorities and getting updates on NDRF deployment, rescue work and relief operations.”

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been briefed on Uttrakhand’s Chamoli district flood situation, coordinating relief and rescue with Uttarakhand Chief Secretary. Air Force and other disaster relief forces on standby.

Following the disaster, all officers concerned are working on a war footing to rescue people, and NDRF teams have left for rescue operations. Every possible help will be provided to Uttarakhand, said Home Minister Amit Shah.

According to SN Pradhan, DG NDRF, the flooding has taken out one bridge which was being constructed and the upper reaches of the Rishiganga project also has been damaged. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand CM has said that the water flow in Alaknanda river has become normal past Nandprayag. And while water level of the river is now 1 meter above normal, flow is decreasing.

The IAF has also deployed three choppers including two Mi-17 and one ALH Dhruv chopper of Air Force stationed in Dehradun and nearby areas for helping in rescue operations in flood-affected areas. More aircraft will be deployed as required, the IAF said. Over 200 jawans of the ITBP have joined in the relief and rescue operations. “One team is on the spot to assess the situation. Another team is deployed near Joshimath to raise awareness & evacuate people. The situation is under control”, the ITBP spokesperson said.

Flash foods in Uttarakhand

A massive flood has been reported from Uttarakhand after the water level in Dhauliganga river rose suddenly due to the break down of a glacier near a power project at Raini village in Tapovan area of Chamoli district.

The Chamoli district magistrate has instructed officials to rescue and evacuate people living in villages on the Dhauliganga river bank. The district magistrate and the superintendent of police have rushed to the spot.

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister TS Rawat said that they are well prepared and have been working to deal with the situation. He advised people to not pay attention to any rumours in context with the incident.

“A disaster has been reported from Chamoli district. The district administration, police and disaster management departments have been directed to deal with the situation. Do not pay attention to any kind of rumours. Govt is taking all the necessary steps,” the chief minister said.

It is expected that several districts, including Pauri, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Haridwar and Dehradun, are likely to be affected and have been put on high alert.

China takes on BBC, threatens it for its reporting on atrocities on Uyghur Muslims after UK withdrew licence to Chinese state broadcaster CGTN

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has come under fire from Chinese officials and its media after Britain’s media regulator withdrew the TV licence issued to Chinese state media outlet China Global Television Network (CGTN).

The war of words between the two countries began after Britain’s media outlets had expressed concerns on several issues concerning the People Republic of China, including Communist Party of China’s latest crackdown on democracy activists in the former British colony of Hong Kong, the treatment of ethnic Uighur Muslims in China’s Xinjiang region and also on the concerns over the security of Huawei technology.

The escalations started after Britain’s Office of Communications (Ofcom) revoked the licence of Chinese state broadcaster CGTN saying that China’s ruling Communist Party has ultimate editorial responsibility for the channel.

However, angered by British regulators’ response, China’s foreign ministry had issued a statement accusing the British Broadcasting Corporation of pushing “fake news” on China over Covid-19 outbreak. The Chinese foreign ministry also demanded an apology claiming that the broadcaster had politicised the pandemic and “rehashed theories about covering up by China”.

On Friday, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin also targeted Ofcom ruling as “politicising the issue on a technical point” and threatened that China reserves the right to make a “necessary response”.

The BBC shot back at the Chinese authorities saying its reporting is fair and unbiased.

Editor of Chinese mouthpiece threatens BBC with ‘Beijing’s Punishment’

Not just Chinese political establishment, even CPC’s mouthpiece threatened British authorities and media for reporting facts about the Wuhan virus and the atrocities carried out by the Chinese government against the minority Uyghur Muslims in Xinjian province.

Hu Xijin, editor-in-chief of the Communist Party-backed tabloid the Global Times, who has a habit of giving empty threats on social media, claimed that the BBC was closely working with the US and UK intelligence agencies. It has become a bastion of the Western public opinion war against China, he added.

However, he did not stop there. Threatening the BBC and its officials for their reportage on Uyghurs, Hu Xijin said that the BBC had spread rumours that Uygur women have been systematically raped in China. However, they failed to provide any evidence angering Chinese society, he added.

Further, he added that the BBC had almost become a rumour mill in its China reporting and should report facts or it will not be far away from ‘Beijing’s punishment’.

The Chinese establishment’s angry response against the BBC comes after the British media outlet had reported about the disappearances, torture, repeated rape of the Uygur women in the concentration camps in Xinjiang by the Chinese authorities.

Disappearances, torture, repeated rape: Chinese men brutalise Uyghur Muslim women

In a recent revelation by news network BBC, the former detainees of the concentration camps in Xinjiang had spoken out against the brutal sexual torture at the hands of the Chinese regime. A 42-year-old former detainee named Tursunay Ziawudun had stated excruciating details about sexual abuse and organised rape by Han men.

She said that Uyghur women were forcibly taken out of their jail cells each night in a dark room and subsequently raped by several masked Chinese men. The victim admitted that she was gang-raped on three occasions. According to Ziawudun, several women who were forcibly taken away from their cells at night never returned.

“They had an electric stick, I didn’t know what it was, and it was pushed inside my genital tract, torturing me with an electric shock,” she reminisced.

She narrated, “They don’t only rape but also bite all over your body, you don’t know if they are human or animal. They didn’t spare any part of the body, they bit everywhere leaving horrible marks. It was disgusting to look at. I’ve experienced that three times. And it is not just one person who torments you, not just one predator. Each time they were two or three men.” Ziawudun was released from the camp in December 2018.

Another woman from Kazakhstan, Gulzira Auelkhan, had told the BBC that she was coerced into stripping Uyghur women naked, handcuffing and presenting them to Chinese men. She was also forced to clean the rooms after the men systematically raped the women. She added that the perpetrators would pay money to choose the ‘prettiest’ detainee.

Congress MP says Sachin Tendulkar is not ‘worthy’ of Bharat Ratna, day after NCP Chief ‘advised’ the cricketer to ‘exercise caution’: Details

Congress MP Jasbir Gill has come out in criticism of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar after they made a statement calling for Indians to remain united in the face of a global campaign against India. He said that Sachin Tendulkar is not deserving of the Bharat Ratna.

Jasbir Gill also requested everyone to boycott movies starring Akshay Kumar and questioned the ‘aukaat’ (social status) of the two to issue the statement that they did. The comments came after NCP chief Sharad Pawar ‘advised‘ to be ‘exercise caution’ while making comments on matters outside of cricket.

Incidentally, Sachin Tendulkar was awarded the Bharat Ratna by the UPA Government in 2014 and he was nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the President of India in 2012, when the UPA was in power. Therefore, the irony of a Congress MP saying that he is not worthy of the Bharat Ratna is quite astounding indeed.

Interestingly enough, the Congress party has a history of its Prime Ministers awarding themselves the ‘Bharat Ratna’. Jawaharlal Nehru gave himself the Bharat Ratna when he was still in office. His daughter Indira Gandhi did the same when she became Prime Minister. No Congress member questions whether they were deserving of the honour.

No Congress member questioned the Bharat Ratna to Sachin Tendulkar as well but since he has spoken for unity in the country, his legacy has to be challenged.

Glacier breaks in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district causing flash floods, people being evacuated

People living on the banks of Alakananda are advised to move to safe places: Uttarakhand CM

Uttarakhand Chief Minister said that people are being evacuated from the areas near Alkananda and as a precautionary measure, flow of Bhagirathi River has been stopped.

PM Modi speaks up on global propaganda against India, refers to Greta Thunberg toolkit in Assam

Prime Minister Modi while inaugurating development programmes in Assam, launched a scathing attack on the global conspiracy to defame India.

PM Modi said that people who are conspiring to defame India have stooped so low that they are not sparing even Indian tea. Assam produces more than half of India’s tea. PM Modi, while addressing the gathering, said that they must have heard in news that these conspirators are vowing to malign the image of Indian tea in a systematic manner across the world. “Will you accept this attack? You will accept the people involved in this attack? Will you accept those praising these attackers?,” PM Modi said.

Without naming it explicitly, PM Modi talked about the toolkit leaked by professional child-protestor Greta Thunberg on February 3, 2021 which exposed several organizations, celebrities, and leaders for conspiring against India. One of the documents shared was prepared by Poetic Justice Foundation which had a dedicated plan going back as far as 3rd January 2021.

The organisation had prepared a step by step guide for the global campaign to malign India. One of the slides in the presentation was one that detailed their ultimate ‘objectives’.

Objective shared by Poetic Justice Foundation

The fourth objective in the list states, “Disrupt “yoga & chai” image of India in general”.

Tea and Yoga have been quite synonymous to image of India globally. Further, PM Modi worked as a tea-seller in his childhood and has been recipient of ‘chaiwallah’ jibe from the elitist for defying social norms and becoming the head of the state despite not being from a political family. Further, he has also managed to put yoga on global platform with the International Yoga Day celebrations since 2014.

These two aspects of the campaign’s objectives have nothing to do with the farmers, but it is about causing damage to India’s image on an international platform.

“We have to malign the image of tea in the world, these documents say. These documents, which have come to the fore, shows how some foreign forces are trying to attack the identity of chai (tea) which is associated with India. Do you accept this attack? Do you accept those who stay quiet after this attack? Do you accept those who praise who attack India? All those responsible for tarnishing the image of Indian tea will have to be answerable. Every tea garden will question those political parties who are silent. Every tea drinker will question them,” he said.

Gorakhpur: CM Yogi Adityanath’s intervention leads to resolution of compensation dispute, hundreds of farmers to get 2.5 times price for acquired land

A years-long dispute between administration and farmers has been resolved in Gorakhpur district resulting in 2.5 times compensation payment to farmers against acquired land. The district court has passed the judgment in favour of farmers in Manbella.

As per the reports, in 2009, the Gorakhpur Development Authority (GDA) had acquired about 215 acres of land in Manbella. The administration had decided on a price of Rs.18 lakh per hectare. The farmers were not happy with the price. MP Yogi Adityanath had intervened at that time, and the price was increased to Rs.28 lakh per hectare, but the farmers continued their fight. As a result, no project could start in the region.

CM Yogi formed committee in 2017 to resolve dispute

In 2017 after becoming Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath formed a committee to resolve the decade-old dispute. The committee suggested the price of Rs.71 lakh per hectare. However, once the project has been awarded, it is not legally possible to increase the compensation rate. Thus, 70 farmers went to the district court for resolution. A few days ago, the District judge gave a verdict in farmers’ favour and ordered the administration to pay the price difference with interest.

Some farmers had got Rs.18 lakh per hectare, and some farmers were paid Rs.28 lakh per hectare. As per the judgment, all farmers will get the benefit of the decision and will receive Rs 70 lakh per hectare. Those who had filed the petition will get compensation from the court. In contrast, the remaining farmers who were not part of the petition have to file a copy of the said order under Section 28A of the Land Acquisition application for enhanced compensation to the Land Procurement Officer.

Farmers thanked Chief Minister

As the increase in compensation was because of the intervention of CM Yogi Adityanath, the farmers have expressed gratitude to Chief Minister. Barkat Ali, Chairman of the Manbella Kisan Sangharsh Samiti, said that CM Yogi has been standing with them to fight for their rights from the beginning. He further said that the increased compensation had been made possible because of CM Yogi’s efforts.

GDA secretary Ram Singh Gautam said that a proposal would be placed in front of the board after getting a legal opinion, and the board will decide on the further action to be taken.

Land freed from land mafia after 38 years

In other news, after CM Yogi Adityanath’s intervention, 2.5-acre land has been freed from the land mafia in Gorakhpur Khowamandi in the Golghar region. As per the reports, Rajendra Yadav, a resident of Gorakhpur Khowamandi, has given a letter to CM Yogi Adityanath informing him about his 2.5-acre land that was grabbed by the land mafia in 1983. Yadav alleged that he had bought the land in 1983, but land mafia Prabhakar Dwivedi, with the support of local administration, grabbed the land. Since then, he had met several officials, but no one helped him.

Yadav met Yogi Adityanath in his Janta Darshan program on February 4 in Gorakhpur and requested him for help. CM Yogi directed police officials and the revenue department to take immediate action, after which the land was free within an hour.

He worked as a seaman at INS Agrani training school in Coimbatore. The victim, who was on a leave, had returned to Chennai on January 31 via a flight. At around 9 pm, the Navy sailor was threatened by three people with a revolver and his cellphone was snatched away. The unidentified men then forced Dubey into a white SUV and asked him to pay ₹10 lacs as ransom.

He was kept hostage at an unknown location in Chennai. After being detained there for 3 days, the Navy official was taken to a forest in Vevji village in Talasari Taluka in Palghar near the Maharashtra-Gujarat border on Friday (February 5) morning. He was doused with petrol and set ablaze by the three perpetrators. Dube suffered 90% burn injuries as he lay without clothes in the forest.

On finding him naked, the locals informed the Vevji police station. Dubey was then admitted to a hospital in Dahanu, where his condition continued to worsen. He was rushed to the military hospital INHS Asvini and was declared dead on arrival.

Case lodged in Palghar murder case, probe commences

A case was registered against 3 unidentified people at the Gholwad police station under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 34 (acts done in furtherance of common intention), 302 (murder), 364 (kidnapping), and 392 (robbery). The police have initiated a probe in the case and are investigating how the Navy sailor was taken 1500kms away to a forest in Palghar from Chennai. The cops are analysing mobile call records and CCTV footage to get leads on the culprits.

While speaking about the case, Palghar SP Dattatray Shinde informed, “Navy officer refused to pay a ransom of Rs 10 lakhs. The locals informed police, then brought in the district civil hospital, later in Mumbai. He was abducted near the Chennai airport. Navy officer refused to pay a ransom of Rs 10 lakhs. The locals informed police, then brought in the district civil hospital, later in Mumbai.”

Father of Navy official demands justice

Meanwhile, the father of the deceased Navy sailor, Mithilesh Dubey, had demanded justice for his son. He said, “I want justice for my son. That’s the message I want to get across via media. He gave a statement before dying that he was kidnapped and imprisoned for three days, being made an object of ransom. He was then brought to Palghar and burnt to death.”

The lynching of two Hindu Sadhus in Palghar

On 16th April 2020, two Sadhus of Juna Akhara, Chikne Maharaj Kalpavrukshagiri (70), and Sushilgiri Maharaj (35) were lynched along with their 30-year old driver by a mob. The incident took place at Gadchinchale village in Palghar district, Maharashtra. They were on their way to Surat, Gujarat. The police were present at the scene, but the allegedly did not try to stop the mob or did anything to save the sadhus.

The fact-finding committee constituted to unravel the truth of the Palghar case, had revealed that the left-wing organizations working in the area have created hatred in the minds of the tribals against Hindus, its religious gurus, and sadhus. Vivek Vichar Manch formed the fact-finding team that comprised of retired judges, lawyers, and police officers.

The fact-finding team’s investigation had also concluded that the growing violence in the area came to the fore after Chrisitan organizations such as the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India, Tenancy Organizations, Bhoomi Sena, Adivasi Ekta Parishad, CPM began exerting their influence in the region.

MeToo accused and co-founder of leftist propaganda website The Wire Sidharth Bhatia elected as President of Mumbai Press Club

Sidharth Bhatia, one of the co-founders of leftist propaganda website ‘The Wire’ and an accused of sexually harassing women, has been elected as the new President of the Mumbai Press Club.

According to the reports, Bhatia secured a victory against Sudhakar Kashyap to be elected as the President of the Mumbai Press Club. The elections were held on Saturday.

Journalist Smita Deshmukh took to Twitter to report that a group of radical left ‘journalists’ had contested the Mumbai Press club’s elections under a grouping – ‘Progressive Democratic Alliance’. Sidharth Bhatia had contested for the post of President while another far-left ‘journalist Gurbir Singh of the Indian Express and Samar Khaldas of the Maharashtra Times had contested for the post of Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively.

According to another journalist Shrikant Bhosale, the Progressive Democratic Alliance had fielded six candidates for the post of office bearers and ten others for committee members’ posts. All the 16 candidates of Progressive Democratic Alliance, led by far-left ‘journalist’ Sidharth Bhatia have secured victory.

In 2018, when the MeToo movement hit India, Bhatia was accused by two women for sexually harassing them.

Sidharth Bhatia is accused of sexual harassment by two former colleagues

During the ‘MeToo’ movement, Bhatia was named by at least two different women, in two separate incidents and accused of having used his power to sexually exploit women. One woman has accused Bhatia of ‘propositioning young interns in DNA (where Bhatia was previously associated with) by offering writing tips’. The second Twitter user has accused Bhatia of licking his ‘lower lip seeing bra straps of young women’ in office.

However, Bhatia had claimed that the lady who accused him of inappropriate behaviour while he was at DNA was false. He had said that no lady with that name worked at DNA while he was there. Bhatia had asserted that the allegations made by another lady, who worked for The Wire, was also untrue because The Wire Hindi has no female staff.

Following the severe backlash against the Wire editor, Bhatia has filed a police complaint to investigate the Twitter handles which made these accusations. Bhatia has maintained that the allegations were false. Brazening it out, Bhatia said that they had requested the ladies to come forward with more details, but nobody has.

The Wire – a far-left fake news website

The controversial left-wing website ‘The Wire‘, which claims to be a media outlet, is known for spewing anti-Hindu hatred and has often taken extreme anti-India positions to further its ideological narrative. The ‘news website’ started by American citizen Siddharth Varadarajan, Radia-tapes famed MK Venu and Sidharth Bhatia has a long history of peddling false propaganda and fake news.

The Wire has been caught several times peddling the most outlandish lies with impunity. They have never retracted or apologised when called out. Here are some of the outlandish lies and false propaganda propagated by The Wire in the name of journalism.

A series of FIRs were recently registered against The Wire Founder-Editor Siddharth Varadarajan for spreading fake news against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and also during the recent ‘farmer’ protests in the country. Apart from Siddharth Varadarajan, another former news anchor Vinod Dua was booked for misreporting the Anti-Hindu Delhi riots and also on charges of creating a public nuisance by false “contextual reporting”. Dua, too, was accused of sexual harassment.
