By ordering free COVID-19 testing in private labs, and order later amended, did SC overstep its mandate?

Recently, the Supreme Court of India ordered free testing of COVID-19 suspects in all private laboratories approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) or the World Health Organisation (WHO) across the country. Less than a week later, faced with criticism, it modified the order to mandate free testing for only the poorest, specifically those covered under the union government’s health insurance scheme.

What do these orders, which actively meddle in the affairs of state business, mean for the court’s role as a judicial institution?

Umpires to activists?

In recent times, there has been an enormous expansion of unaccountable judicial power in India. Since the change in its role; there has been a remarkable shift in the working pattern of the courts by virtue of which the judiciary is said to have occupied an ascendant position within the nation‘s politics. What it would not do under the traditional pattern now seems evidently possible with growing judicial intervention in other spheres of state businesses.

The Jurisprudence of Judicial review emanated from the U.S Courts. In the case of Marbury v. Madison, 15 US (1 Cranch) 137 (1803), the Supreme Court created its authority to declare federal statutes unconstitutional. Although seldom used in the Court’s early years the power of judicial review over federal statutes has been used more frequently by the Rehnquist Court. In a series of cases, the Court has declared unconstitutional federal statutes that have gone beyond the limits of the Commerce Clause, or Section 5 of the Fourteenth Amendment, or that have invaded the sovereignty of the states as guaranteed by the Tenth and Eleventh Amendments. This was adopted by the Indian Courts at a later point for safeguarding the fundamental rights of the people.

In India judicial Activism has become a buzzword amongst the legal jargons. Judicial activism can be coined as judicial creativity, judicial craftsmanship, judicial law making, imaginative sharing of passion, look beyond the law, activist justicing, etc. However, in recent years, the judiciary has often been criticised for taking on an activist’s role. It is charged to have harboured an increasing tendency to transgress into the fields of other organs, such as the legislatures and the executive.

The COVID-19 free testing in private labs is just another example of this newfound judicial impulse.

Covid-19 Free testing

While hearing the case of Shashank Deo Sudhi v Union of India, Civil Writ Petition No. 10816/2020, the Court first ordered universal free testing of COVID-19 suspects in accredited private laboratories and then tapered it down to only the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). The court, giving its decision a moral dimension, said private hospitals and laboratories have an important role to play in containing the scale of the pandemic by “extending philanthropic services in the hour of national crisis.”

On the face of it, it seems to be a very good decision. But from a pragmatic point of view, the cons of the order outweigh its pros.

Prima facie, Courts are not expected to step out of their legitimate powers under the garb of Judicial review while discussing a political question. The issue of making the tests at private laboratories free of cost is related to public business, and requires knowledge of State finance. Therefore, it is the elected government that must make decisions on such an issue, largely because the government is administering the situation and is much more aware of the prevailing situation.

The duty of the judiciary is simply to give effect to the legislative policy of a statute under the ambit of the Constitution and not reconstruct or create a policy. The court does not have jurisdiction over any such issue since it is only about policy with no legal element involved.

No legal basis for intervention

The theory of Separation of Powers as expounded by Montesquieu and accepted by our country provides for three organs of the State –  the Legislature, the Executive, and the Judiciary. The Judiciary has been assigned the role of adjudicating disputes and defining the rights of the parties.

In Ram Jawaya v. State of Punjab, AIR 1955 SC 549, the Constitution bench of the SC observed, “the Indian Constitution has not indeed recognized the doctrine of Separation of Powers in absolute rigidity but the functions of the different branches of the government have been sufficiently differentiated and consequently it can be very well said that our Constitution doesn’t provide for the assumption by one organ or part of the State of functions that essentially belong to another”.

Restricting the Judicial transgressions in policy matters, it was held in Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Vs. UOI ILR (1974) Del 847 and Peoples Union for Democratic Rights Vs. Ministry of Home Affairs ILR (1987) Del 235, “that where the power to do or not to do a thing is optional and discretionary and there is no statutory obligation, direction to the Executive to do a particular thing cannot be given even where the matter is of public importance.”

Similarly, in Kanhaiya Lal Sethia Vs. UOI (1997) 6 SCC 573, the Apex Court held that “it is not open to a petitioner to seek a direction to the Union of India to introduce an official Bill in the Parliament or to sponsor a Private Member’s Bill to be introduced on the subject. It was also observed that “Courts should not interfere in policy matters of the State unless the policy violates the mandate of the Constitution or any statutory provision or is otherwise actuated by mala fides.”

As per the observations done and ratio recorded, it’s amply clear that the courts cannot and shouldn’t interfere into the work ambit of Legislative or Executive organs of the government, as such decisions are made by the experts in the field after considering and keeping due factors in conscience.

The Court doesn’t have enough practical experience, domain expertise or academic acumen to decisively know what will be the fallout of making testing free. Since this doesn’t involve any metrics of legality, the court should have stayed out of the issue.

Further, the nature of the reimbursement is still uncertain. The courts didn’t seek any recommendation while passing the order. The modification of the original order also raises an evident presumption about the lacuna that was inherent in the previous order. Even by restricting free testing to the poorest,  the Court has encroached upon the policymaking power of the government. It has made the same mistake which it set out to fix through the later modification.

This step might keep both government and private labs under the garb of uncertainty and could stifle the fight against COVID-19. This may in turn lead to shutting down of private labs, as it will make no economic logic for them in the absence of a quid pro quo when resources are limited. Once private labs start shutting down, there will be an acute shortage of testing facilities, because those who can afford private testing will also become more vulnerable to the disease due to a shortage of equipment. These loopholes weren’t addressed by the apex court.

The decision, thus, was an erratic one. The intervention that should have been done in the interests of the public may act as an attack against their own interests.

Former actress Zaira Wasim who left acting for Islam has now urged fans to stop praising her, as it is dangerous for her ‘Iman’

Former Bollywood actor Zaira Wasim, who had quit acting to embrace Islam has once again taken to social media to pen down a note urging her fans not to praise her as it is dangerous for her Iman. She stressed that she isn’t as righteous as she might have lead many to believe and that the praise she receives is ‘dangerous’ for her.

“Asalamualaykum everyone!” Zaira wrote on Saturday. “While I acknowledge with humility all the love people shower me with, I cannot emphasise enough how the praise that comes my way isn’t gratifying at all for me and how big of a test it is for me and how dangerous it is for my Iman,” she wrote on Twitter.

“I’m not as righteous as I might lead many to believe. Instead, I urge everyone to not praise me in any manner but pray that Allah overlooks my shortcomings-which are too many to count, and fills the void in my heart with the light of His Mercy, Taqwa and increases me in Iman, rectifies my intentions and grants me knowledge that is beneficial and a heart and tongue that remembers Him at all times and turns to Him often in repentance, and allow me to perform righteous deeds only for His sake, allow me to remain steadfast and cause me to live and die as a Muslim (wholly submitting to Him) Jazakum Allahu Khayran,” Zaira concluded.

The 19-year-old Srinagar-born former actor seems to be craving media attention since she had said goodbye to a career that saw a total of 3 films, claiming that it was taking her away from ‘Islam’. Earlier too, in her quest to come into the limelight, the actor had attempted to mislead the public on the issue of the normalcy of Kashmir as she went on to make incorrect claims on the status of the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir in her Instagram post.

On February 4, 2020, in her Instagram post, she had claimed that the UT of Jammu and Kashmir continued to suffer and claimed that voices of Kashmiris are being silenced.

Continuing her fear-mongering rhetoric, Wasim claimed, “But I ask the world, what has altered your acceptance of the misery and oppression we’re being subjected to? Do not believe the unfair representation of the facts and details or the rosy hue that the media has cast on the reality of the situation. Ask questions, re-examine the biased assumptions. Ask questions. For our voices have been silenced- and for how long….none of us really know!”

That time the actor had tried the ‘Kashmir card’ to get some media attention, failing which, she has once again resorted to this new melodrama.

Punjab: Ludhiana Assistant Commissioner of Police Anil Kohli dies due to coronavirus

0

In a regretful incident, Anil Kohli, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ludhiana, has died battling coronavirus. According to the district public relations office, 52-year-old ACP Kohli passed away earlier today at SPS Hospital, Ludhiana.

“Sad News ACP Anil Kohli passed away. Died of #COVID-19. Was admitted in SPS Hospital Ludhiana,” Ludhiana district public relations office tweeted today.

Reportedly, the ACP was on the ventilator since April 11. His first test results came out negative. However, he was tested once again, which resulted positive with no sign of improvement in his health.

The ACP (Ludhiana North) tested positive for coronavirus a few days ago, had remained on a ventilator ever since.

“Our brother officer Anil Kohli, ACP Ludhiana, lost his battle against #COVID-19 today afternoon. Anil served Punjab Police and the people of Punjab for over 30 years. May his soul RIP. Our prayers are with his family, relatives and all those worked with him,” tweeted Dinkar Gupta, DGP Punjab Police.

Even though the officer had no travel history, it was suspected that ACP Kohli contracted the infection while on duty at a market.

Anil Kohli’s wife, driver, who is a constable from Ferozepur, and SHO of Jodhewal police station have also been tested positive for the virus.

Recently, the state government had decided to support the medical team of SPS Apollo Hospital in Ludhiana to conduct plasma therapy on Ludhiana’s Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP). On Friday, the Punjab government had given its go-ahead to the hospital to conduct plasma therapy on the police officer.

Wuhan Coronavirus not a ‘natural virus’, but was leaked from a Wuhan lab by an intern: Read shocking revelations made in a report

0

A report published by Fox News makes a shocking revelation that the Wuhan coronavirus that has swept the globe was not a natural virus but a man-made one which was accidentally leaked by an intern working at the lab at Wuhan Institute of Virology in China.

Mounting an attack against China for its possible complicity in the spread of the virus, US President Donald Trump took cognisance of the exclusive report published by the Fox News which alleged that though the virus is a naturally occurring strain among bats and not a bioweapon, it was being studied in the Wuhan lab and was eventually leaked by an intern.

The report mentioned that the initial transmission of the zoonotic virus occurred from bat to human, adding that the “patient-zero” worked at the Wuhan laboratory. It stated that the intern working at the laboratory accidentally contracted the virus before transmitting it to other people outside the facility.

The report also quashed the initial allegations of Wuhan wet markets being the place from where the virus emanated, saying that the markets never sold bats. It added that Beijing may have chalked up the emergence of the virus to wet markets to deflect the blame from the laboratory.

Quoting multiple unnamed sources, the report said, “The virus was being studied at the laboratory as an attempt by the Communist Party of China to illustrate that its prowess in identifying and combating the virus is equal to or greater than the capabilities of the United States.”

According to the report, China went on great lengths to cover up the outbreak. Citing a source, the report claimed that it could be the “costliest government cover-up of all time”, adding that the World Health Organisation(WHO) was a part of this cover-up right from the beginning.

US President Donald Trump remains tight-lipped over allegations of coronavirus emanating from Wuhan lab

When a Fox News reporter citing the exclusive report about the origins of the deadly contagion asked US President Donald Trump about the virus’ link to the Wuhan laboratory, the American President noncommittally said that he is hearing more and more about the virus and has ordered a “thorough examination of this horrible situation that has happened”.

Regarding the question about whether discussions with Chinese Premier Xi Jinping entailed the issue of Chinese lab security, Trump said, “I don’t want to discuss what I talked to him about the laboratory. It is not appropriate right now.”

Wuhan residents say the death toll from Coronavirus much higher

While the Chinese Communist regime is busy projecting that the spread of the Wuhan coronavirus in the country is gradually on the wane, the residents of Wuhan, the epicentre of the deadly contagion that has ravaged hundreds of countries across the world and afflicted more than 2.1 million people globally with a staggering death count of 146,000+, believe that the number of deaths reported by China in its official count belies the havoc wreaked by the pandemic.

Angry with the communist party and Xi Jinping’s lackadaisical initial response in acknowledging and detecting the problem, those who witnessed the tragedy unravelling firsthand claim that the number of coronavirus victims is far greater than what the state has been quoting.

How the Telegraph, Logical Indian and assorted propagandists blamed Hindus for a Muslim man refusing to eat food prepared by a Dalit

A particular section of the Indian media has often been accused of being mealy-mouthed and obscurantist when the transgressors belong to the minority community. Far from mentioning the religious identity of the offenders in the articles, they deliberately seed doubts amongst the readers by using ambiguous appellations, references and misleading feature images to project Hindus in the bad light. Such reports are then lapped up by the left-leaning anti-Hindu brigade who share it widely among their circles to further their Hinduphobic propaganda. Recently, The Telegraph India and The Logical Indian resorted to spreading fake news and published articles alleging that even amidst the coronavirus outbreak, rampant casteism continued to prevail in the country.

With no reference to the identity of the transgressors, the article alleged that two men in Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh refused to consume food at a coronavirus quarantine centre simply because it was cooked by a Dalit. The articles also used a picture of RSS men distributing food to imply that they were the ones who practised casteism in the midst of the coronavirus lockdown.

While the identity of the Dalit cook was mentioned in the article, along with the celebrated individuals such as Vijay Dubey, the BJP MP from Kushinagar, who attended the quarantine centre and had food there, the identities of the two offenders who refused to consume food citing that it was cooked by a Dalit were conspicuously missing from the article. ‘The Telegraph’ very conveniently masked their identities by referring to them as “two-middle aged men”.

Read: Uttar Pradesh: FIR lodged against one Seraj Ahmad for refusing to eat food cooked by Dalit village head at a quarantine centre

The Logical Indian, on the other hand, did mention the identity of one of those who had denied having food at the quarantine centre but resorted to spreading fake news and propaganda by other means. Seraj Ahmad was one of two individuals who refused to intake food cooked by a Dalit. Since the culprit was a Muslim, the Logical Indian continued with its anti-Hindu propaganda with its misleading headlines and deceptive feature image, while relegating the disclosure of the accused’s identity to the body of the article so that details can be glossed over and gullible readers are tricked into believing that Hindus promoted casteism.

As the wheels of propaganda and fake news peddling were set in motion by the deceptive reportage by The Telegraph and Logical Indians, left-liberal propagandists quickly latched onto the fallacious assertions made by the articles and propagated their nefarious agenda. Propagandists used this deceit to their advantage to reinforce the mistaken belief that Hindus continue to oppress the marginalised community at a time when the country is staggering under the pandemic.

Journalist Naveen Kumar went a step ahead in bolstering the anti-Hindu propaganda. Sharing ‘The Telegraph’ report on his Twitter page, Kumar conjured up a fictitious identity- ‘Maharaj’, who refused to eat food touched by a Dalit. By doing so, Kumar not only concealed the real identity of the culprit but also misled his followers into believing as a Hindu who goes by the name ‘Maharaj’ had exhibited casteist behaviour.

Another shameless anti-Hindu propagandist, Ashok Swain, who is often caught lying through his teeth, tweeted the spurious story alleging that upper-caste Hindus kept in quarantine centres in Uttar Pradesh are going home to eat food because they are refusing to eat food cooked by a Dalit. Like on most occasions, here too, Swain perpetuated his anti-Hindu bias and tried to pull the wool over his followers’ eyes by falsely alleging that upper-caste Hindus were practising casteism whereas the fact was that one Muslim-Seraj Ahmad was the one who had denied having food cooked by a Dalit. In fact, after sharing the article with patently wrong assertion, Mr Swain has the audacity to accuse media of blaming Muslims for the coronavirus crisis in the country.

Tweet by career-propagandist Ashok Swain

Such morally depraved tactics of resorting to equivocation and obfuscation by prejudiced online rags and conniving propagandists serve two purposes. It attempts to paint the larger Hindu majority with the same brush as the Tablighi Jamaat Muslims who are accused of wantonly spreading the contagion across the country as well as to create a rift between the Hindus and Dalits by alleging that Hindus still harbour casteist attitude against their Dalit brethren.

Ever since the media has called out the criminal role of Tablighi Jamaat Muslims in deliberately and perversely spreading the coronavirus in the country, the propagandists have eagerly come to the defence of delinquent Jamaat members and have taken up the cudgel to defend the errant Tablighi Jamaat members who were found spitting on nurses, doctors, running around naked in quarantines centres and intentionally hiding in different parts of the country to avoid being sent to quarantine centres.

With the vile acts of Tablighi Jamaat members becoming overwhelmingly difficult to defend, the propagandists have adopted a far more insidious recourse of blaming the Hindus of the same offence, so as to downplay the transgression committed by the Jamaat members. By throwing in the allegations of casteism against the Hindus in the mix, propagandists have only displayed they are willing to go to any extent to shield the Tablighi Jamaat super-spreaders and vilify the innocent Hindus.

You can call PM a terrorist but can’t call a terrorist a terrorist – Kangana Ranaut blasts Twitter after suspension of her sister’s account

On Saturday, actress Kangana Ranaut came out in support of her sister Rangoli Chandel who was banned by Twitter following an angry tweet on ‘Mullahs.’ She also responded to the trolls and the Islamists who had been spewing vitriol against her sister in her absence on Twitter.

Tweet not directed at all Muslims

Kangana Ranaut began by clarifying that her sister’s tweet was directed at Tablighi Jaaamatis who have been attacking doctors and police officers, amidst the nationwide lockdown imposed in the wake of the Wuhan Coronavirus outbreak. It is important to mention that Rangoli Chandel had called for the encounter of such people in her tweet.

The ‘Queen’ actress slammed film directors such as Farah Ali Khan and Reema Kagti for falsely claiming that her sister had called for a ‘Muslim genocide.‘ She emphasised, “If there is any such tweet where my sister is advocating for Muslim genocide, then, we will both come forward and apologise for the same.”

‘By saying that, are they saying that all Muslims are terrorists?’ She asked, saying that she and her sister are not saying that all Muslims are attacking doctors and policemen, but their comments were directed only those who are attacking Coronavirus warriors.

Kangana Ranaut reiterated that she and her sister neither hold any prejudice against Muslims nor believe that all of them are involved in violence against doctors and police officers.

Kangana Ranaut appeals to the Central Government

Halfway through the video, the actress appealed to the Union Government to take action against social media platforms such as Twitter which is known for censoring freedom of speech of the right-wing handles while simultaneously entertaining the vitriol spewed by the left-liberal jamaat on an everyday basis.

‘Here you can call Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah terrorists, you can call organisations like RSS who are serving the people as terrorists, but you can’t call the terrorists as terrorists’, she said exposing the hypocrisy prevalent in social media sites like Twitter which have a clear pro-Islamist bias.

While acknowledging the humanitarian crisis at hand, Kangana highlighted the need for an alternate platform where everyone could voice their opinions freely. She called for stringent action against biased platforms such as Twitter and stressed on the need to demolish them. She said that we need to find a way to completely demolish these platforms and start our own platforms.

Defends Babita Phogat

Actress Kangana Ranaut also empathised with world-class wrestler Babita Phogat who was harassed online after she called ignorant “Jamaatis” a bigger problem than coronavirus in India in a tweet. Kangana stated that nationalist voices are systematically suppressed through harassment, job termination, and even murder. She added, “If something happens to a nationalist like Babita Phogat, then, other nationalists will be scared to come forward. I appeal to the Central Government to provide her protection”

Commonwealth Games gold medalist wrestler Babita Phogat took to Twitter on Friday to address the social media trolls who have been hitting out at her. “Listen carefully and keep this in mind, I am not Zaira Wasim, I am Babita Phogat, I have fought for my country, I will not get bullied, I will keep fighting for my country and keep speaking the truth, I stand by what I said”, Phogat lashed out at all her trolls.

Tablighi Jamaat responsible for 30% total coronavirus cases in India, spanning across 23 states, as high as 84% in Tamil Nadu

0

In a shocking revelation, the Health Ministry has stated nearly 30% i.e 4291 cases of the total 14,378 coronavirus cases were caused due to Nizamuddin Markaz event in Delhi by Tablighi Jamaat.

Speaking at a press conference, Joint Secretary in the Health Ministry Lav Agarwal said, out of total 14,378 cases, 4291 (29.8%) cases are related to Nizamuddin Markaz cluster from a ‘single source’ and affected at least 23 states and union territories.

He also added that 84% cases in Tamil Nadu, 63% cases in Delhi, 79% cases in Telangana, 59% cases in Uttar Pradesh and 61% cases in Andhra Pradesh are related to the event.

During the routine media briefing on coronavirus, the Health Ministry said that 75.3 per cent of the coronavirus deaths in India have been recorded in those who are 60 years of age and above.

“A positive trend has been noted in 47 districts across 23 states. No positive cases has been reported in the last 28 days in Mahe of Puducherry, and Kodagu of Karnataka,” said Lav Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, Union Health Ministry

“In 45 other districts, no new positive cases have been reported in last 14 days,” he added.

Coronavirus in India and the Tablighi Jamaat

India’s tally as of Saturday morning stood at 14,378, said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Of these, 11,906 people are being treated while 480 have died. As many as 1,991 people have recovered so far.

The Tablighi Jamaat congregation, which took place in Nizamuddin Markaz in the first half of March, has become the mega-spreader of coronavirus in India, as many as more than one-third cases in India are linked to that event now. The Muslims who had attended the event, and their family members and those who came into contact with them are testing positive regularly, contributing the increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the country.

Read: The Life and Crimes of the Tablighi Jamaat amidst the Wuhan Coronavirus pandemic: All You Need To Know

The Tablighi Jamaat event was not only attended by Indian Islamic clerics but also foreign nationals. The alarm bells should have started ringing when seven Indonesian nationals associated with the organization tested positive for the Wuhan Coronavirus in Telangana after travelling from Delhi to Karimnagar for an ijtema. However, it was only later that the full scope of the Tablighi Jamaat’s contribution to the spreading of the virus would become prominent.

By the 4th of April, of the 25 confirmed cases of the Wuhan Coronavirus in Assam, at least 24 were directly linked to the religious congregation at Markaz Nizamuddin between the 13th and 15th of March. The state had not reported any case of the virus prior to that. 27 people infected in Odisha by the same date were linked to the same event. The West Bengal government announced that 225 Tablighi Jamaat members and their contacts had been placed under quarantine. Again, by the same date, 3 people in Uttarakhand had tested positive for COVID-19.

How to debate the Tablighi Jamaat issue around Coronavirus with ‘liberal’ idiots

Last year in December, I had written How to debate the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) with liberal idiots. It is futile to debate anything with idiots, but they are fun to engage. So I’m back because ‘liberal’ idiots are back. These days they are busy washing away thook stains of Tablighi Jamaat.

A formidable force of idiots is out there, in WhatsApp groups or on your Twitter or Facebook timeline, indulging in a marathon of virtue signalling, teaching lesser souls why it is not good to blame the spread of Coronavirus on Tablighi Jamaat – a sect of Muslims that believes in living their lives in strict adherence to original Arab Islamic practices.

Obviously it doesn’t matter to them that not just India, Tablighi Jamaats have been identified as super spreaders in Pakistan and Malaysia too – both Islamic nations – because if it mattered, they would have been idiots, or liberals. But unfortunately they do exist around us, so this is how we should debate them:

Liberal Idiot: Tablighi Jamaat is not spreading the virus, their number is higher because government is tracing and testing them more often than other groups.

You: And why is government doing that genius? Did they randomly decide to catch hold of members of one organisation? Government had to test them because some of them were found positive and it happened when they were congregated at the same place in Nazimuddin, so obviously government will trace them more than others. Did the government not trace everyone who attended party by Kanika Kapoor after Kanika tested positive?

Liberal Idiot: Exactly bhakt! So are you accusing Kanika Kapoor of spreading virus? Then why this hatred reserved only for Tablighi Jamaat?

You: Actually yes, idiot, Kanika Kapoor was blamed by everyone. She was indeed accused of spreading the virus. People demanded that she should be jailed. And there is a police case against her. Problem with you idiots is that you don’t even know what you are talking about.

Liberal Idiot: But you guys did not say that Kanika Kapoor was doing this as part of some conspiracy. You did not accuse her of waging some war. But since it’s Muslims, you guys are using ‘Corona Jihad’ and what not!

You: I would have accused Kanika of conspiracy but I searched all her videos and nowhere she was talking about how her singing was the best and other people were inferior to her. She does not believe that only she will get heaven because she sings well and everyone else will burn in hellfire as they don’t buy her albums. I did not even come across any video where she claimed virus can be cured by singing ‘Baby Doll Main Sone Di’ 5 times a day. Neither are people blowing themselves up in the name of the said Baby Doll.

Liberal Idiot: You are not making any sense.

You: Hahaha.. don’t pretend to be so innocent, you know what I’m talking about. Point is, if you flaunt your belief, your beliefs will be questioned.

Liberal Idiot: Then why don’t you question beliefs of Hindus who had gathered at this <reads out a WhatsApp message shared by Bollywood idiot Swara Bhaskar> temple?

You: Read something else rather than crap shared by Swara Bhaskar and Anurag Kashyap. Did you find anyone supporting any such gathering? Some of such gatherings were in states that are ruled by your secular governments, like in Kerala and Maharashtra. Why don’t you ask those secular governments to aggressively trace and test everyone who attended any Hindu temple function? This way you can prove that such gatherings also spread virus and not just Tablighi Jamaat gathering. You keep shouting “test test test” so go and test those Hindus who attended any event that you claim. Go on and prove your claim. And mind you, when you trace these people and go to test them, they will not throw stones at police, they will not break head of doctor, and they will not spit at nurses.

Liberal Idiot: Those are all fake news. No Muslim is doing such things.

You: chup chu**ye.

Liberal Idiot: You bhakts can only abuse.

You: <provide proof of multiple mainstream media reports showing Muslims attacking policemen, health personnel, photo of seriously injured doctor, and many more such examples>

Liberal Idiot: Muslims can’t trust this Hindutva state. By making temple at Ayodhya, by making communal laws like CAA, by taking away special status of Kashmir, you have pushed Muslims into a corner and now they are not ready to believe if any government officer or team visits their area.

You: <show news reports about how Muslims are pelting stones at police and government teams even in Pakistan> you mean to say BJP is ruling in Pakistan too?

Liberal Idiot: So what is your point? Muslims are bad everywhere? This is nothing but Islamophobia.

You: And what is your point? That no Muslim can ever do anything wrong? Why are you always ready to whitewash their deeds?

Liberal Idiot: We never said anything like that.

You: Go back to where you started. And now get lost.

Kerala doctors perplexed after asymptomatic Dubai returnee who was in quarantine for 28 days tests positive for Coronavirus

0

On Thursday, a Dubai returnee from Edachery in Kozhikode in Kerala who was quarantined by health officials for 28 days (4 weeks) was diagnosed with the Wuhan Coronavirus. His 67-year-old father was earlier admitted to a hospital for age-related ailments. On April 11, the man’s father tested positive for the Chinese virus.

Reportedly, the man’s mother, brother, and child were also diagnosed with the deadly virus. The man who had tested negative in his earlier results and was quarantined for 28 days has now contracted the infection. As such, questions regarding the effectiveness of the swab samples tests are being asked by the medical experts, following the curious case.

District Medical Officer V Jayasree stated that the new case of the Chinese virus had proved that one might contract the deadly pathogen even after being in quarantine for 28 days. She added that a person who had initially tested negative for the Wuhan Coronavirus might also test positive later.

“In the aftermath of the Edachery case, it has been decided to keep all Gulf returnees and other suspected persons under home quarantine for one week in addition as a precautionary step. It’s required to prevent possible community spread,” she was quoted as saying.

Kerala Government relaxes lockdown

Even as the number of coronavirus cases in Kerala is on the ascent, the Communist state government had decided to take the edge off the lockdown norms in the state. Earlier, the Kerala government had released a circular with relaxed norms amidst the 21 days of lockdown ordered by Prime Minister Modi till April 14.

In the relaxation of the existing limiting order which ordained the hotels to provide takeaways and online deliveries till 5 PM, the government had extended the timing of the takeaways and online deliveries till 8 PM. Shops selling essential items, including bakeries and counter supply from take away counters of the hotels, however, continued to stop by 5 PM. The circular permitted the shops to operate the online delivery by 8 PM while it directed the online suppliers to stop their operations by 9 PM every day.

Coronavirus Scare in Kottayam

On March 29, thousands of migrant workers from Bengal, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh had gathered at Kottayam, Kerala, wanting to go back home amidst coronavirus outbreak. As per journalist Padmaja Joshi, the migrant workers there said that they did not eat for 2-3 days.

The migrant workers in Kerala had gathered after they saw buses were arranged for migrant workers by Delhi government in Delhi which let off the migrants at border and left them on their own. Most of these workers then eventually started walking towards their villages, hundreds of kilometers away. Accordingly, the migrant labourers also decided to walk all the way from Kerala to their hometowns in North India.

Coronavirus survey team attacked by a man with knife and stones in Indore, phone used for survey broken

In yet another attack on healthcare works engaged in the war against Wuhan Coronavirus, a survey team was attacked by a man in Indore with knife and stones.

According to reports, a team of doctors, teachers, paramedical staff and AASHA workers had gone for Coronavirus survey in Vinova Nagar which comes under Palasia police station in Indore. When the survey team was working in Vinova Nagar, a local criminal named Parash Yadav attacked them by pelting stones on them. When some locals came forward to protect the team, he attacked them also. After that, he pulled out a knife and started attacking the members of the survey team. He also snatched the mobile phone of one member and broke it. One member of the survey team and some locals were injured in the attack.

It has been reported that Palash was drunk at the time of the incident. Survey in-charge ayurvedic doctor Praveen Chaure has confirmed the incident.

Reportedly, Palash Yadav is a known criminal from the area, and he sells illegal liquor there. He was also having fight with locals in the area. When the survey team was using their mobile phones for survey work, he thought they were making video of him and attacked them, and broke the phone of the teacher who was part of the team.

After getting information about the incident, Indore collector Manish Singh reached Palasia police station to take stock of the situation. He talked the healthcare workers who had reached the police station after the incident.

Senior police officials claim that Parash was not targeting the survey team, but they came in between his fight with the locals. Indore DIG Harinarayan Mishra claimed that Parash has an old fight with the neighbours, and they were already fighting when the survey reached there. When they started using their phones for survey work, he assumed they were recording the fight and that’s why they snatched the phone and broke it, but he didn’t target the team, the DIG said.

Earlier this month, a medical team that had gone to check on a patient with suspected coronavirus symptoms was attacked and pelted with stones in Indore’s Tatpatti Bhakhal area. The police team accompanying the medical team was attacked too. The gathered mob even broke down the barricades and used the women among them as human shields when the police tried to take action.
