Taher ‘mankind angel’ Shah and Tej Pratap Yadav: Both made big promises but neither fulfilled

As 2019 came to an end, I decided to take a break from social media to focus on my mental health. Just before I took a break, I saw something which gave me some assurance that 2020 might just get a little better. For a country which exports perhaps the maximum terrorists to our country, it warms the cockles of my heart that it has also given the world Taher Shah.

On 28th December 2019 Taher Shah announced ‘coming soon’. Shah is the one who gave us ‘Mankind Angel’. A grown up man wearing velvet robes with fake glittery angel wings tied behind his back roaming on what looks like a golf course with one random babool tree protruding in middle of it and singing how he is the mankind’s angel.

What is not to love? The man refers to himself as an angel who is soft like a rose and then changes into a turquoise gown. There is a woman also in the video who wears white robe and is also a self-declared angel, perhaps.

Whenever I feel low, I watch his videos. He has another one, for those uninitiated.

In his superhit ‘Eye to Eye’, Taher Shah blinks his eyes and perhaps sings to himself about his eyes while looking showing multiple mosaics of eyes. He even sings about his “sensational eyes” to himself while looking at VFX version of himself looking into his eyes.

Isn’t that amazing? Pakistan must treasure him and put him safely away from the evil eyes (pun intended).

Tej Pratap Yadav

While we are speaking of hope of a better tomorrow, we can hardly keep our own homegrown gems away. While there are many who restore my faith in innocence, Tej Pratap Yadav, older son of fodder scam convict and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, is ahead by many, many counts.

Tej Pratap Yadav’s antics are full of innocence. No matter how powerful your father might be, Tej Pratap shows that absolutely nothing can stop you from just being yourself.

Tej Pratap Yadav’s tweet announcing launch of his website

On 12th January, he tweeted announcement of launch of his new personal website. Just look at this image. It has two Tej Pratap Yadavs emerging from one Tej Pratap Yadav who is wearing a Captain America beanie. Tej Pratap protruding from right side of Tej Pratap is wearing a bandana and it seems like he is leading a concert. At first glance, Tej Pratap on the left side of Tej Pratap does not half of his head. On closer inspection one can see that it is just bad Photoshop. Tej Pratap’s white cap has vanished and merged with the golden sky because of digital effects.

I immediately went to his website only to see it had a counter which showed 6 hours remaining. It was to be launched at 1 AM. Since it was way past my bed time, I slept off in hopes that I’ll be able to devour the website as soon as I wake up.

Except, when I woke up, the counter had been reset and it was now showing one day and few hours. I went back again after two days to see that the counter has again been reset. Until one fateful day…

Tej Pratap Yadav website

The countdown has now stopped. It has broken. Along with it, my heart is broken. Is the website launched delayed indefinitely? Is it cancelled? If it is neither, why did the countdown just stop the updates? I was looking forward to all fancy dress pictures at one place.

Something so pure about this.

Earlier he had declared himself Lord Krishna to his younger brother Tejashwi who he had announced as Arjun and had said the detractors will be slayed with a ‘Sudarshan Chakra’. Days later, he himself posed as Arjun. Earlier he was seen dressed as Lord as Lord Shiva blowing a conch shell (Shankh) before leaving for the Kanwar yatra. He had also appeared as Lord Shiva on another occasion.

And now that his website launch seems far away, we seem to be stuck with Rahul Gandhi fans to keep ourselves entertained.

Panjab University student injured after left-wing goons attack him for a social media post criticising leftist student organisation

0

In a shocking incident, an ABVP member was injured after he was attacked by members of left-wing student organisation Students For Society (SFS) at the boys’ hostel number 3 in Panjab University.

Reportedly, the SFS students had attacked ABVP students following an alleged fallout between two groups. The attack on ABVP member Divyansh Sharma happened after he had allegedly made an indecent comment on social media against SFS.

As SFS members attacked the ABVP student Sharma, he got injured and was immediately rushed to the GMSH in Sector 16, where he was administered stitches.

Parvinder Singh Katora, convener, ABVP, Chandigarh, said, “Divyansh Sharma received a call from an unknown number at 8:26 pm, asking about his whereabouts. A resident of boys’ hostel number 4, he had gone to meet his friend at hostel number three. As soon as he came out of the hostel, some 11-12 persons started beating him up. He recognised four of the attackers, who were from the SFS.”

However, SFS president Varinder claimed, “I was not there at the incident. I had reacted to an abusive comment posted by Divyansh Sharma and demanded an apology from him. I was told by a friend, who was going to have dinner at hostel number 3 that Divyansh was being hit by someone.”

Harman of the SFS said, “I am attending a wedding in Patiala. I wonder how my name cropped up.”

A senior security official at the university said that the Chandigarh police and the PU chief security officer arrived at the spot as soon as they came to know about the fight. The injured students have been rushed to the hospital, said the officer.

Following the incident, about 50 supporters of ABVP assembled outside the DSW’s residence and demanded a ban on SFS. The police have recorded Divyansh’s statement. No case has been registered as the police did not get any complaint in connection with the incident.

Kapil Gujjar who had fired 3 shots in Shaheen Bagh formally arrested by the Delhi police

0

The man named Kapil Gujjar, who open-fired at Shaheen Bagh on Saturday, has formally been arrested by the police. The alleged shooter who is a resident of East Delhi has been booked under Section 336 (Endangering the life and personal safety of others) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Arms Act.

Kapil had fired three bullets from his country-made gun but none was harmed. Soon, he was overpowered by the police and taken into custody. Investigations have revealed that the accused was miffed over long traffic jams caused due to the Anti-CAA protests in Shaheen Bagh, accompanied by road blockades. On being nabbed by the police, he announced,  “Hamare desh me kisi aur ki nahi chalegi, bas Hinduon ki chalegi (Only the writ of Hindus shall run in India, no one else’s).”

The police had recovered two used cartridges. Chinmoy Biswal, the DCP of Delhi’s South-East district have appealed to the Anti-CAA protestors at Shaheen Bagh to allow the vehicular traffic to run smoothly. He had urged them to move to a “safer place” where they can continue their protest peacefully and the police can provide them protection.

The shooting at Shaheen Bagh marks the third incident in a row where a man open fired on the Anti-CAA protestors. Earlier, Mohammad Luqman, allegedly associated with the Aam Aadmi Party, was seen wielding a gun at Shaheen Bagh over long traffic hauls. On January 30, a man had fired at a CAA protest rally using a country made gun at Jamia area, injuring one person.

Aam Aadmi Party fields highest number of candidates with criminal cases for Delhi polls

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) that rose to power on the promise of being different has now given tickets to a whopping 60% candidates with pending criminal cases, with 51% facing serious criminal cases. The story came to light after a report was published by the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR).

A total of 672 candidates have filed their nomination for the Delhi elections to be held on February 8. The report surveyed all candidates across different party lines and found that roughly 20% of them (133 candidates) have criminal cases against them, with the percentage of candidates facing serious cases is 15%.

AAP tops the list with 42 out of 70 candidates, bringing its tally to 60%, while 36 (51%) among them are facing serious charges. Bharatiya Janta Party has fielded 67 candidates, and 26 (39%) among them have declared criminal cases against them, with 17 (25%) facing serious criminal cases. The numbers for 66 candidates of Indian National Congress are 18 (27%) and 13 (20%), and for Bahujan Samaj Party’s 66 candidates, it is 21 (18%) and 10 (15%).

The report also highlights another disturbing trend. There has been an overall increase of 3% in the number of candidates with criminal background from the last Delhi Assembly elections of 2015. In total, 95 political parties are contesting the elections this time as compared to 71 in the year 2015.

Read- Delhi govt led by Arvind Kejriwal failed to deliver on 75% promises made: Detailed analysis of all 70 promises made in 2015

The report also analyses assets declared by candidates in their nomination forms. Congress has the highest number of crorepatis, 55 (83%) among 66, followed by AAP’s 51 (73%) and BJP’s 47 (70%). BSP, the only other party contesting a large number of seats (66), have comparatively much less number of crorepatis at 13 (20%).

A total of 148 candidates are contesting independently while 224 candidates are contesting from registered yet unrecognized parties. 90 candidates from State parties and 210 candidates from National parties are also in the line.

The report has come to light at a time when the AAP government in Delhi is under fire for failing to deliver on 75% of its promises. The “clean politics” that Arvind Kejriwal promised while hijacking the Anna Movement is yet to transform into reality.

Second case of Coronavirus infection in India reported from Kerala

0

The second confirmed case of Coronavirus in India has been reported from Kerala where a person has been tested positive with the deadly virus.

According to the reports, this is the second case of a person being affected by the Coronavirus is being reported from Kerala. The patient had reportedly returned from China on January 24.

“The patient has tested positive for Novel Coronavirus and is in isolation in the hospital. The patient is stable and is being closely monitored,” health ministry officials said.

On Thursday, Kerala reported India’s first case of coronavirus – a medical student studying in China’s Wuhan city, the epicentre of the outbreak. She was quarantined at a hospital in Thrissur after she “self-reported” throat infection, the government said.

According to Kerala Health ministry,  one person each from Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, and Malappuram and three from Ernakulam district have also been kept in isolation wards of various health centres.

According to the figures put out on Wednesday night by Kerala health authorities, around 1,700 people are under observation in 10 different hospitals for possible exposure to the virus. While 10 of them are under observation and kept in isolation wards at various hospitals, others are under home quarantine.

Out of the total of 806 people, 173 had arrived in the state on Wednesday.

The 2019-novel coronavirus epidemic that has concerned health experts worldwide broke out in China’s Wuhan city in early December 2019 and has so far claimed more than 200 lives and exposing more than 12,000 people.

The virus is believed to have originated late last year in a food market in the Chinese city of Wuhan that was illegally selling wildlife meat. Health experts think it may have originated in bats and then passed to humans, possibly via another animal species.

This Twitter user has been ‘correcting’ politically biased cartoons, and is killing it

Ever since Narendra Modi came to power, bulk of the journalists started showing their true colours and most sensible people now realise that there is nothing like truly neutral journalist. Most of them, if not everyone, have ideological affiliation and many are actively working to peddle a particular political agenda.

However, the same truth is not so obvious when it comes to ‘activists’ or ‘artists’ who continue to pretend as if they are driven by some quest for truth. Cartoonists too fancy themselves as being artists though they are closer to being like journalists, and thus bulk of their work reeks of bias. Many Twitter users have been pointing out such bias.

One such user is “टीपूडा” whose username is @PR1CELES5 who has “corrected” many cartoons, especially those made by cartoonist Satish Acharya, to show how the original cartoons were biased and presenting only one particular point of view.

Read: The-Lying-Lama on Twitter: The guy who’s gets Rajdeep Sardesai’s goat, everytime

@PR1CELES5, whose real name is Amol, is not any professional cartoonist but his “pictorial rebuttals” have become very popular. The 24 years old from Maharashtra told OpIndia that he made these cartoons just for fun, but at the same time wanted to send a message too. He said that he will continue to make more such cartoons whenever he finds time amidst running his all transport business.

Here are some of the popular “corrected” cartoons by Amol along with the original ones:

A cartoon shared by Shashi Tharoor by one “Mansoor” continues to mix up Citizenship Amendment Act (not applicable to Indian citizens) and National Register for Citizens (NRC, applicable to everyone. However, the same is not even ready in draft formation, so all fears regarding same are unfounded).

Amol cleverly ‘corrected’ the cartoon and added a speech bubble where HM Shah is asking a citizen that despite explaining in detail, why are you asking same question, one can see that the ‘citizen’ is doing so because Shashi Tharoor is making him do so.

Another such cartoon corrected by Amol is by cartoonist Satish Acharya. Acharya, in his cartoon, is implying that Delhi Police is watching while a violent mob shouting ‘goli maaro saalo ko’ slogans is marching ahead.

In the ‘corrected’ cartoon, Amol shows how Acharya was silently watching and not using his artwork when angry violent mob attacked police in Gujarat when anti-CAA protests went violent.

Another such cartoon Acharya made was following the release of Tanhaji and Chhapaak earlier this month. While Ajay Devgn starrer Tanhaji broke box office records, Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak, despite a badly misfired PR stunt, failed to make any impact on the box office. Acharya, through his cartoon, showed that while Tanhaji got the money, Chhapaak got the hearts.

Amol cleverly corrected Acharya and said that as much as the ‘liberals’ may hate to admit, Tanhaji won at the box office as well as over people’s hearts.

Another Cartoon of Acharya was after former J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s most recent photograph went viral. He has been kept under detention ahead of abrogation of Article 370 in J&K. Acharya tries to imply his detention is silencing of democracy.

Amol pointed out that how the ‘democracy is dead’ narrative is peddled because the ‘left’ cannot digest the fact that PM Modi was elected with a thumping majority a second time.

Earlier this month, Acharya drew a cartoon which showed that it was India which was bringing global economy down with moves like demonetisation.

Amol showed how Satish, who through his cartoons shows that people voted for Modi because they are Islamophobic, is actually a Hinduphobic himself.

A day after death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Acharya had shared a cartoon where Mahatma Gandhi could be seen saying how they (his assassin) couldn’t kill him, that is he is still alive through his thoughts and ideas while Godse can be seen saying how they couldn’t ‘hang him’. That despite a death sentence, even Godse is alive.

Amol ‘corrected’ the cartoon by showing how Sardar Patel, who dreamt and made united India possible is forgotten while Jinnah who divided India is alive. During the anti-CAA Protests at Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh, ‘Jinnah wali azaadi‘ slogans were raised. Sharjeel Imam has been the mastermind of these road blockage at Shaheen Bagh.

Ahead of Delhi elections, Acharya posted a cartoon which tried to imply that BJP is trying to make these elections about Kejriwal vs Pakistan. However, he seems to have conveniently forgotten that when India carried out surgical strike against Pakistan after the Uri attack, Kejriwal, along with other politicians, had questioned the strike and demanded proofs.

After the attacks on JNU campus by leftist students on those students who were registering for the winter semester, Acharya, through his cartoon tried to imply that they had the support of PM Modi for such attacks. However, in reality, those carrying out the attacks were leftist students.

In this cartoon, Acharya tries to show that PM Modi is speaking about attacking Pakistan when other things like economy, inflation and job opportunity are attacking him from behind. Amol shows that for all these issues, the Modi government has indeed brought in schemes to bring these issues under control. But Acharya’s bias does not allow him to see this.

In Acharya’s cartoon, PM Modi and HM Amit Shah are donning Delhi Police uniform (since Delhi Police falls under central government), and Gulshan (name changed), the minor who opened fire at Jamia Nagar anti-CAA protests is shown firing because he is angry over note ban and implementation of GST. In ‘corrected’ cartoon, Amol shows how the same Modi and Shah are busting the propaganda of these shootouts which many believe to be staged.

Propagandist Kunal Kamra seems to be having a mental breakdown after he heckled Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami in an Indigo flight last week. Following the incident, he was put on No Fly List by Indigo as well as three other airlines including Air India. Acharya mocked the flight ban by saying how government plans to disinvest Air India and hence the ‘joke’ is on the airline. However, the ‘joke’ was on Kamra, who despite all the ‘support’ he garnered from the Arnab-haters, still couldn’t fly these four airlines.

Update: Amol has now changed his Twitter username to @AmolDraws and he can be followed on Twitter here.

When ‘Goli maaro saalo ko’ by a Muslim mob failed to make news

Following the shooting incidents in Jamia Nagar and Shaheen Bagh areas of Delhi, many propagandists masquerading as liberals have claimed that these incidents are direct reaction to the ‘desh ke gaddaron ko, goli maaro saalo ko’ slogans chanted during the pro-CAA and other political rallies.

Clearly, a direct cause and effect relationship was built between the shooting and the slogans at political rallies. However, in all these, they forgot the last time such slogans were raised.

Read: Abusive actor Ajaz Khan taunts Mumbai Police after they file an FIR against TikTok ‘celebrities’ for propagating revenge on Tabrez Ansari’s death

In June 2019, Tabrez Ansari was brutally brutally beaten by a mob in Jharkhand on accusation of theft. Four days later, he died in police custody. The incident led to widespread outrage where Muslims took to streets across India vowing revenge over his death.

On 1st July, the above video was posted on YouTube where one can hear “Tabrez ke hatyaaron ko, goli maaro saalo ko” followed by Allah-hu-Akbar and RSS Murdabad. This is followed by ‘Chadda-chaddiwalo ko, goli maaro saalo ko”. These slogans are raised by a rally where SDPI flags could be seen. This is followed by “Tabrez tere khoon se, inqalaab aayega”.

The protests after Ansari’s death had often turned violent. However, these threatening slogans by angry Muslim mobs were forgotten in the background. These were not used to justify the violent attacks by Muslim mobs. In fact, TikTok celebrities used the platform to instigate hate and propagate revenge of Ansari’s death. However, everyone of them was just forgiven and forgotten.

Jharkhand: Four incidents of stone-pelting on Saraswati Puja procession by Muslim mobs reported

Four separate incidents of attack on Hindus during the Saraswati Puja celebrations by Muslim mobs have been reported in various places of Jharkhand.

According to Jagran report, in Jharkhand’s Vidyasagar, Muslim mobs attacked Hindus who were carrying out a procession of Goddess Saraswati ahead of idol immersion. As they crossed locality dominated by Muslims, the local residents objected against Hindus playing religious songs near Karmatar area.

A clash erupted between two communities which resulted in a tense situation around the Paratol village near Karmatar. The Muslims did not let the procession move forward and carried out attacks on the procession. The police soon rushed to the spot and calmed down the situation. The Hindu groups had to stop the immersion procession, which was later carried out by police themselves.

In another incident in Kathbari village, the idol was immersed under the supervision of the police administration after a clash erupted over the issue of playing loud musing near the mosque. As the procession passed in front of the mosque, a clash erupted between the two groups.

The police showed at the spot and resorted to lathi-charging the two groups. The Hindus left the spot without immersing the idol, which was later carried out by police officials.

Another incident of stone-pelting was reported in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand during a Saraswati Puja idol immersion procession. An argument broke out between Muslims and Hindus resulting in a scuffle between two communities during the idol immersion of Saraswati at Lakhe Sundi Basti near Hazaribagh on Saturday.

A Muslim mob reportedly attacked the procession and even indulged in stone-pelting leading to the damage of vehicle that was carrying the idol for immersion. Four youths were injured in the incident which occurred late on Friday night. Soon, the police reached the spot and took the situation under their control. A peace meeting was held between two communities under the initiative of the police.

A fourth such incident was also reported in Beldiha village. The Muslim mobs resorted to stone-pelting against the Hindu community, resulting in serious head injuries to two youths. Five others have also sustained small injuries. Since the attack on Hindus, a tense situation is prevailing in the village.

Reportedly, the Hindu community were carrying out a procession of the Saraswati idol, which was being taken to Yogini Chowk in the village for the idol immersion. However, the Muslims in the village objected to Hindus taking out a procession in their locality. A clash broke out between two groups in which Muslim mob attacked the Hindu procession.

The Muslim mobs began to pelt stones at the procession causing serious head injuries to Uttam Kumar Paswan and Suprabath Paswan.

The Basantrai administration, including police officers, reached the village and immersed the statue late at night while trying to control the situation. Reportedly, there were incidents of stone-pelting on the police vehicles as well.

Meanwhile, on Saturday morning, dozens of angry villagers of Baldiha village demanded strict action against the people involved in the incident. The villagers demanded the arrest of the accused Mohammad Lukman, Mohammad Ikram, Mohammad Murshid, Mohammed Kaleem, Mohammed Saggo, Mohammed Israel, Mohammed Seraj and Bibi Gulshan.

Kamlesh Tiwari was an outspoken Hindu Activist who was brutally murdered by Jihadists for blaspheming against Islam. He was stabbed 15 times. The post-mortem report suggested that there were two deep cut marks on the neck which pointed towards attempts to slit his throat.

Coronavirus: Pakistan President first cites Prophet justifying not evacuating its citizens from China, then contradicts himself

0

On Friday, Pakistan President Arif Alvi shocked the world when he resorted to preaching Islam to fellow Pakistanis stuck in China instead of advising the Pakistan government on the urgent need of evacuating their citizens who are begging for help amidst global health crisis of Coronavirus attack in China.

“Prophet’s directions regarding disease outbreaks are a good guide even 2day. ‘If you hear of an outbreak of plague in a land, do not enter it, but if the plague breaks out in a place while you are in it, do not leave that place’ (Bukhari & Muslim) Let us help those stuck there,” tweeted Pakistan President Arif Alvi.

Shockingly, the President of Pakistan informed his own citizens currently stuck in China that they are least bothered about their life condition despite the emergency crisis that has struck China. Rather than making preparations for their evacuation, Pakistan administration is advising people not only to stop entering China but also urging Pakistanis to not return to Pakistan fearing the spread of the virus.

After his insensitive tweet, Pakistan President Arif Alvi had to face severe embarrassment for failing to evacuate Pakistani citizens from China and rather to deciding to place his trust on the Prophet.

As outrage against Pakistan President began to increase, President Alvi backtracked his early ‘Prophet’ statements and stated that Pakistani students in China need to be helped in every possible way. He said the students should be brought back to Pakistan by fulfilling all international health requirements ensuring health and safety of the students.

The parody nation of Pakistan, as an official policy, has decided to turn a blind eye to Pakistanis stuck at Coronavirus hit China as they have refused to evacuate their citizens stranded in Wuhan, as an “act of solidarity” towards their ally China.

Around 800 Pakistani nationals are stuck in Wuhan, China – the epicentre of the Coronavirus outbreak. Reportedly, the Pakistani government has snubbed its own citizens to show “solidarity” with China. The Pakistan Government is of the view that China is equipped with the requisite technology to contain the spread of coronavirus.

A heartbreakingly tragic video had emerged in which a Pakistani student shames Pakistani authorities for their apathy towards them as he watches Indian students boarding a bus sent by the Indian embassy.

India had evacuated over 300 citizens who were stranded in Wuhan after the virus outbreak. A special Air India flight was sent by the government and the Army was tasked with constructing an extensive and well-equipped quarantine facility in Manesar to house the people returning from Wuhan.

Though none of them who have returned back to the country are said to be infected, they will be kept under observation for 2 weeks at the centre. However, six Indians, who had symptoms of the outbreak, have been quarantined in China and were not allowed to board Air India flight that brought Indians back to the country.
