From Nazis to Khalistanis, how Canada has been a safe haven for criminals, terrorists and extremists under Justin Trudeau govt

Amidst the outrage over Chinese interference in the last two elections and governance, the Trudeau government has resorted to deflection by mindlessly blaming India for the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar even as there is zero evidence of any Indian involvement. Canada was quick to ask Indian diplomats to leave as India strongly dismissed the “preposterous” allegations levelled against Indian diplomats and recalled the Indian High Commissioner. While the Trudeau government’s sympathy for a Khalistani terrorist may be shocking for some, Canada has a history of backing even Nazis.

Back in 2018, the Trudeau government expelled four Russian diplomats and denied entry to three more after Russia exposed the Nazi connection of the then Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland. As Globe and Mail and other Canadian media publications reported that Chrystia Freeland knew for almost two decades that her maternal grandfather was a Nazi collaborator, Freeland accused Russia of spreading ‘disinformation’ and an attempt to ‘destabilise’ Canadian democracy.

“American officials have publicly said, and even Angela Merkel has publicly said, that there were efforts on the Russian side to destabilize Western democracies, and I think it shouldn’t come as a surprise if these same efforts were used against Canada,” Freeland told the media back then.

While Freeland’s office denied that Chomiak ever collaborated with Nazi Germany, however, there is ample evidence proving that the Liberal Party leader’s grandfather was indeed a Nazi collaborator and it was not in any form a ‘Russian propaganda’ even though Trudeau government punished Russian diplomats for the Nazi history of Freeland’s family.

Chrystia Freeland’s grandfather, Mykhailo Chomiak, worked for German military intelligence during the war as the editor of a prominent Ukrainian publication that celebrated Hitler and promoted severe antisemitism. This newspaper was a key tool in spreading Nazi propaganda and also whitewashing the Holocaust. Following the war, Chomiak and his family entered Canada as postwar immigrants to Canada, along with hundreds of other Ukrainian Nazi collaborators and former SS [Schutzstaffel] members. Chomiak landed in Alberta and continued to work for Nazi causes.

According to the Ukraine Archival Records held by the Province of Alberta, Chomiak edited the Nazi-affiliated newspaper Krakivski Visti. This newspaper was printed on a press seized from a Jewish owner. Notably, Chrystia Freeland had helped edit a scholarly article titled: “Krakivski visti and the Jews, 1943”  by her uncle John Paul Himka in 1996. It is, thus clear that Freeland was long aware of her grandfather’s Nazi history. However, she never cared to reveal it publicly and later dismissed it all as Russian ‘propaganda’ as some media outlets began digging up Chomiak’s life and times as a Nazi collaborator.

Freeland’s audacity to blame Russia and get Russian diplomats expelled for some allegedly pro-Russia websites publishing articles about Chomiak’s Nazi history based on now-publicly available records is astonishing. The Trudeau government being true to its ‘liberal’ element, sided with the Nazis and expelled Russian diplomats saying that Russia was trying to ‘destabilise’ Canadian democracy, much like how it is accusing Indian diplomats of posing a “threat to Canadian citizens on Canadian soil”, completely disregarding that Nijjar was a Khalistani terrorist whose citizenship remains questionable to this day.

Trudeau government honouring Nazi World War II veteran

In September 2023, the Canadian House of Commons gave a standing ovation to Yaroslav Hunka, a World War II veteran, without disclosing the fact that Hunka was a member of a SS unit established in 1943 by the Nazis. Notably, SS was the main paramilitary group under Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party in Nazi Germany and was primarily responsible for running Holocaust operations. While in his 2011 blog, Hunka described his days serving as a member of the SS 14th Waffen Grenadier Division as the “happiest days” of his life, Liberal MP Anthony Rota, introduced Yaroslav Hunka, a World War II veteran who fought for “Ukrainian independence” against Russian aggressors, in the Canadian House of Commons. A detailed OpIndia report on the major embarrassment Canada faced for honouring a Nazi troop, the history of the Ukrainian First Division and how Canada benefitted from admitting war criminals can be read here.

From Nazis to Islamists and Khalistanis, Canada has been a safe haven for criminals and terrorists

In addition to siding with the Nazis, Canada has also been a safe haven for Islamic terrorists. Back in the 1990s, Canada housed Algerian terrorist Ahmed Ressam, who later executed the foiled plot to bomb Los Angeles International Airport in late December 1999. Ressam sought political asylum in Canada claiming that a fake terrorism case was brought up against him and was subjected to torture in Algeria. Ressam not only managed to stay in Canada but also went to Afghanistan to complete his terror training, and return to Canada via Pakistan  South Korea, and Los Angeles, and plan to blow up the Los Angeles Airport. Fortunately, he was arrested while on his way to execute the bomb blast.

Now, Canada under Justin Trudeau has turned into a safe haven for Khalistani terrorists who directly challenge the territorial integrity of India and want to separate Punjab from India. Not a day goes by when Khalistani separatists not raise anti-India protests, burn Indian flags, and slander the Indian Prime Minister and Indian diplomats with impunity since the Canadian Prime Minister shields the anti-India elements in the garb of protecting their freedom of expression and right to protest. In reality, political gains are the main reason behind the Liberal Party blindly backing Khalistani terrorists even at the cost of destroying ties with an important ally like India.

The latest diplomatic spat with India and Canada can be called the second phase of the absurd but outrageous allegations first levelled against India months after Nijjar’s killing, Justin Trudeau, notorious for mollycoddling Khalistani terrorists and allowing their anti-India and anti-Hindu activities on Canadian soil unchecked for his political gains, accused the Indian government of assassinating the Khalistani terrorist. Historically, Canada has been a Nazi-sympathiser, a safe haven for Islamists and Khalistanis yet the Trudeau government has the audacity to blame the Modi government in India for its own policy of importing terrorists.

Justin Trudeau’s explicit backing of the Khalistani terrorists has driven the India-Canada bilateral to the rock bottom. From allying with pro-Khalistan leader Jagmeet Singh’s NDP to mollycoddling Khalistani extremists, Trudeau has desperately tried to appease his anti-India votebank while also deflecting domestic attention from the NSICOP report exposing how the Liberal Party benefitted from Chinese interference in the last two federal elections in Canada. Governments changed, and Prime Ministers changed, however, Canadian leadership’s support for Nazis, Islamists and Khalistanis at the cost of straining ties with other countries has been a shameless constant.

Hindus attacked in another Durga Visarjan procession, Jitesh Kumar and Rajan Patel stabbed with sharp weapons by Angur Alam and others in UP’s Deoria

Another incident of violence during the Visarjana of Goddess Durga idol has emerged from Uttar Pradesh. The immersion ceremony for the idol of Maa Durga in Majhauli Raj Nagar at Nadavar Ghat in Salempur, Deoria, took a violent turn late Wednesday, 16th October night. As the idol was being brought to the ghat in a procession from Majhauli, an altercation broke out near Majhauli Main Chowk following which one of the individuals belonging to the specific community attacked two youths from the procession.

As per reports, when the procession reached Majhauli main square, some youths in the area got into an argument with two Hindu youths who were dancing in the procession. The argument turned into a physical fight, and the attackers stabbed the two Hindu youths with sharp weapons. Both the youths were seriously injured in this incident.

The incident sparked massive outrage in the Hindu community who stopped the procession and began demanding justice for the two victims. The police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and calmed the situation. After this, the procession continued and the idol of Goddess Durga was immersed under police protection.

As per the reports, what exactly provoked the accused belonging to the specific community to attack Hindus with sharp weapons is yet unknown, but it is believed that some altercation happened between the local youths earlier as a result of which the accused along with some of his associates attacked the procession participants.

The attacked individuals have been identified as Jitesh Kumar and Rajan Patel and they have been taken to the hospital for treatment. The accused meanwhile were believed to have fled from the spot after executing the attack. However, the police nabbed one of the accused and are making all efforts to nab the other accused.

According to police, the attack was the result of personal enmity between the two groups. “There was a dispute between some youths over an old personal dispute. In relation to which a case has been registered and the accused has been taken into custody, action is being taken as per the rules,” Deoria police said.

SDM Divya Mittal said that Rajan Patel was critically injured but now his condition is stable. The arrested main accused has been identified as Angur Alam, who was arrested after the complaint filed by the injured. The other accused are absconding.

The police conducted a flag march in Deoria on 16th October and ensured that peace was maintained. At present the situation in the city is under control.

This comes days after a clash broke out between two communities during the immersion of the Devi Durga idol in Rehua Mansoor village in the Hardi police station area of Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday after Muslims objected to DJ music played in the procession. One person was shot dead during the violence while several others were injured from stone pelting. The deceased was later identified as 22-year-old Ram Gopal Mishra, who was part of the idol immersion group. Mishra was rushed to the medical college hospital after the firing, but he died there during treatment.

As per reports, the incident took place at Rehua Mansoor village on Sunday evening, when the idol of Maa Durga was taken out for immersion. When the procession heading towards Gauriya Ghat was passing in front of a mosque in the Maharajganj area chanting religious slogans, Muslims gathered near the mosque and asked the procession to stop the DJ music.

This led to an argument between the two sides, and amid the chaos, some people started pelting stones at the procession and the idols. The Hindus asked the police present to arrest the culprits, but in the meantime, more people from the Muslim community arrived there.

It is believed that during the turmoil, Mishra climbed onto the roof of one Abdul Hamid’s house and replaced an already flying green flag with a saffron one, while cries of ‘Jai Maa Durga’ and ‘Jai Hanuman’ roared in the air.

Amid the mayhem caused by the stone pelting, some miscreant opened fire. As per reporters, someone from Abdul Hamid’s residence in the area fired shots. Ram Gopal Mishra, son of Kailash Nath of Rehua Mansoor village was shot from a close range. He was shifted to the Medical College in Bahraich, but he succumbed to injuries during treatment.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (north zone) S Rashmi Perumal informed, “He started watching videos of Islamic religious preachers, like that of Zakir Naik and others, on Facebook and YouTube. He developed a radical bent of mind and hatred towards the idolatry practised by people of other faiths.”

He’s already been linked to similar incidents in Mumbai in September 2022, when he attacked locals after breaking into a Ganesh pandal while wearing shoes and Vasai-Virar in August 2024 of this year. He was in Hyderabad for a month-long course on personality development.

“Salman came to Hyderabad in early October this year to attend a month-long personality development workshop conducted by popular Mumbai-based motivational speaker Munawar Zama, his associate Md Kafeel Ahmed, and their followers at Hotel Metropolis, in Regimental Bazar. Zama is the owner of English House Academy,” the senior official disclosed. The hotel’s property was unlawfully rented for the purpose of the course without official authorization.

Extremists vandalise Hindu temple, desecrate idol of the deity in Telangana

On the morning of 14th October, Secunderabad witnessed a spike in tensions when Salman broke into the Muthyalamma temple’s sanctum sanctorum and damaged the idol of Goddess Durga. Some of the devotees who were at the temple then thrashed him. Afterwards, the police apprehended him and brought him to a hospital, where he is being treated for internal injuries at the moment.

In the videos of the incident that went viral, the idol of the Goddess could be seen vandalized. Also, the outer area of the temple could be seen destroyed and vandalized.

A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against him by the authorities under pertinent sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Hindu organizations, and local citizens launched an extensive protest in response to the instance.

Notably, Zakir Naik who is infamous for his radical views and inflammatory speeches has been a fugitive since 2016 and is facing money laundering charges in India. He then became a permanent resident of Malaysia. His sermons and lectures have influenced several young people to become radicals. Many others have attempted to join terrorist organizations such as the Islamic State as a result of his teachings including an assailant involved in the Dhaka cafe bombing in 2016. He is an admirer of terrorist Osama bin Laden and propagates that non-Muslims should be treated as inferiors according to the Sharia Law in Islamic countries.

“We visited the area today as well. Seven peace meetings were held since yesterday with members of both communities in different parts of the district. There have been no further flare-ups,” Avinash Rai, Dhalai Superintendent of Police, was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

Tensions were already high in the area following a communal clash related to a Durga Puja subscription dispute. The situation further deteriorated on Tuesday due to vandalism at a temple, intensifying the unrest in the Hindu community.

Saharanpur: Md Ashif poses as Ashish to trap a Hindu woman, assaults, forces her to convert to Islam threatening to make pictures viral, arrested

On Wednesday, 16th October, the Uttar Pradesh Police in Saharanpur arrested an individual for cheating a Hindu woman and establishing sexual relations with her. The accused identified as Mohammad Ashif posed as a Hindu and introduced himself as Ashish to the woman. He also shot derogatory videos of the woman and threatened to make them viral as he forced her to convert her religion to Islam. The woman on 14th October then filed a police complaint and demanded strict action against the accused.

“On 14th October, a woman submitted an application in the Nakur police station in which she said that she had known a person for 8 to10 months. That person deceived the girl by telling the name of another community and made physical relations with the girl and now that boy is threatening to make the girl’s video viral. In this regard, a case has been registered at Nakur police station. The police got the victim medically examined and recorded her statement. Also, the accused has been taken into custody by the police and he is being questioned,” SP Rural Saharanpur Sagar Jain said.

As per reports, the incident is believed to have happened in the Nakur region of Saharanpur area of Uttar Pradesh. The woman in the complaint mentioned that she came in contact with the accused 8-10 months ago. The accused managed to get the woman’s phone number and began talking to her. He then forced the woman to talk to him following which he gave indications he was in ‘love’ with her. He then forcefully established sexual relations with her.

However, when the woman learned that the accused belonged to another religion she stopped talking to him. She learned that the accused had lied to her saying that he was Ashish and that he belonged to the Hindu religion. Following this the accused threatened the woman to convert her religion. He also threatened the woman saying that he would make her derogatory photos that he had shot, viral, if she failed to comply.

The woman in the complaint said that on 14th October, she was dragged by the accused and one Mohsin into the shop named Malik Computers where the accused persons assaulted her and threatened to convert to Islam. She said that 8 months ago Mohsin, the owner of Malik Computers introduced her to the accused saying that he was a renowned businessman. This is when the victim had gone to the computer shop for some online exam.

It is believed that the accused Ashif then obtained the number of the woman from the computer shop and trapped her into a relationship to further force her to convert to Islam. As per the reports, several women from the Saharanpur area go to Malik computers to take online exams. The phone numbers of the girls are then given to Muslim men by Mohsin to trap them in a relationship leading to conversion.

In the given case, the accused Ashif has been arrested. He is being interrogated by the police. Probe underway.

Bahraich violence: First named accused Danish aka Zaheer Khan arrested, was trying to flee to Nepal after brutally killing Ram Gopal Mishra

Five days after a violent Islamist mob brutally murdered 22-year-old Ram Gopal Mishra, police apprehended the first named accused in the case. The individual, identified as Raja aka Mohammad Danish aka Zaheer/Sahir Khan, is accused of being involved in the murder of Ram Gopal Mishra. According to reports, Zaheer Khan was trying to flee to Nepal when he was apprehended near the Raji crossing in Mahsi block of the district.

The other five accused are still absconding, said police.

SHO Kamal Shankar stated that the police have secured custody remand of Danish, also known as Sahir, for questioning. Meanwhile, raids are being conducted at various locations to locate the main accused, Sarfaraz, along with other suspects.

Notably, the Bahraich police have registered 11 FIRs so far wherein 6 named and 1,304 unidentified people have been accused. They registered a case of unlawful assembly and murder against 10 individuals in connection with the killing of Ram Gopal Mishra. Among these, 6 individuals were named while 4 remained unidentified. Raja aka Mohammad Danish aka Sahir/Zaheer Khan was one of the named accused in the murder of Ram Gopal Mishra.

Mishra was participating in the Durga idol immersion procession that was passing through the Rehua Mansoor village in the Hardi police station area of Bahraich, when Abdul Hamid and other Muslims, mercilessly killed him.

The FIR of the murder of Ram Gopal Mishra was filed based on the complaint submitted by his brother Hari Milan, who had confirmed that around 4 pm, his brother Ram Gopal went to Maharajganj market to watch the immersion of a Durga idol.

“Here, a group of 10 people, including four identified as Abdul Hamid, Rinku alias Sarfaraz, Faheem, Raja alias Sahir Khan (all residents of Rehuwa Mansoor) caught my brother Ram Gopal, dragged him into the house, shot him, and inflicted multiple blows with a sword, which resulted in his immediate death,” said Hari Milan in his FIR to the police.

“I, along with my brothers Rajan and Kishan, identified the above-mentioned individuals, but we could not identify the four unknown persons,” he said.

Besides, the Bahraich police also arrested 55 people in connection with the violence that broke out during the Durga idol immersion procession on Sunday. They are being identified from CCTV footage.

The mobile internet and broadband remained suspended in Bharaich’s Mahsi Tehsil after the clashes as senior police and civic administration officials remained on the ground to maintain the law and order situation.

Meanwhile, the Yogi Adityanath government has taken significant action in the case and suspended Circle Officer (CO) Mahsi Rupendra Gaur. Gaur was reportedly removed from his position following his order to lathi-charge the participants in the procession, which escalated the crowd’s violence.

CO Ravi Khokhar, who was previously posted in Rampur, has been appointed as the new CO for Mahsi and has officially taken charge.

In response to the situation in Bahraich, which shares an international border with Nepal, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has heightened its vigilance along the border. A senior officer noted that the SSB has communicated with their counterparts across the border to monitor and control the “unnecessary” movement of people. This action is part of efforts to maintain security and order following recent violent incidents in the area.

After Goddess Durga, idols of Goddess Lakshmi vandalised in several parts of West Bengal, BJP shares video

After vandalising idols, desecrating mandaps and pandals and executing multiple targeted attacks on Hindu devotees during the Durga Puja celebrations, radical Islamists have set their eyes on Lakshmi Puja, an equally revered festival for Hindus. Lakshmi Puja was celebrated this year on October 16.

In a post shared on X on October 16, Wednesday, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari shared details of one such act of vandalism carried out in the Diamond Harbour area in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas.

The BJP leader shared a video where the idol of Maa Lakshmi stood vandalised and wrote in Bengali, “Idol of Mother Lakshmi of Bawali Rathtala Puja Committee of Bajbaj Assembly of South 24 Parganas was attacked by jihadists.”

He raised concerns about how West Bengal, under Mamata Banerjee’s leadership, was going the way of Bangladesh. “Following recent incidents in Garden Reach, Kolkata, and Shyampur, Howrah, Diamond Harbour has now seen similar tensions, with Hindu communities expressing a growing sense of betrayal. The latest incident involved the desecration of a Lakshmi idol at the Bawali Rathtala Puja Committee in Bajbaj, South 24 Parganas. Many Hindus in West Bengal feel that their right to practice their religion is increasingly under threat, drawing uncomfortable comparisons to incidents in Bangladesh where Hindu practices have faced disruption.

Despite past incidents, such as the vandalism of a Durga idol at the same location a few years ago, there has been little to no action from the authorities. The state police remain silent, and no arrests have been made, which has fueled allegations of a political climate of appeasement under the Mamata Banerjee government. I urge Hindus to wake up now, otherwise they will not be able to perform puja-archana in their own homes,” Suvendu Adhikari wrote, going on to dub the situation as the “Diamond Harbour Model in Lakshmi Puja.

Similarly, the West Bengal BJP also took to X on Wednesday, October 16, to share details of a similar incident of vandalism of the Lakshmi idol in West Bengal’s Duplexpatti Kumor area, Chandannagar, Hooghly.

Muslims attacked Durga Puja in West Bengal

On Sunday (13th October), Muslim mobs went on a rampage in Shyampur in the Howrah district of West Bengal. They attacked a  Durga Puja pandal, vandalised the idol of the Hindu deity and set shops ablaze.

The Shyampur Bazaar Babasyayi Samiti organised an art competition wherein participants were asked to draw ’eminent personalities of different religions’ on the occasion of Durga Puja.

According to Hindu activist Devdutta Maji, the organisers displayed pictures of Prophets of all religions to educate Hindu children. During the course of the ‘appeasement’, they also put up pictures of Prophet Muhammad.

Soon after, Muslim mobs stormed the streets of Shyampur to avenge the ‘insult’ to Prophet Muhammad.

In visuals that surfaced on social media, it could be seen that the idol of Goddess Durga was broken. Several shops and establishments were set on fire. The violent Muslim mob also attacked the police and Hindu devotees with stones.

Earlier on 11th October, a frenzied Muslim mob stormed the Puja Pandal of New Bengal Sporting Club at the Garden Reach area of Kolkata and threatened to vandalise the idol if celebrations weren’t stopped.

Canada: Ruling party MP calls for resignation of Justin Trudeau amid reports of large number of Liberal MPs signing a secret document against the PM

As Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau caused a further fall in India-Canada ties by accusing top Indian diplomats of being involved in Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Njjar’s murder, the PM himself is facing opposition from his own parties. Ahead of national polls in Canada next year, Liberal Party leaders have openly displayed their frustration with the PM, and have called for his resignation.

Sean Casey, a longtime Liberal Party leader and MP from Charlottetown, has said that people want Trudeau to go, adding that he agrees with them. Sean Casey told Global News, “I confirm that I am increasingly hearing from constituents that I represent that it is time for Trudeau to go, and that I agree with them.”

The MP told the CBC News Network that Trudeau’s leadership has become one of the main topics of conversation when he speaks to voters. “The message that I’ve been getting loud and clear — and more and more strongly as time goes by — is that it is time for [Trudeau] to go. And I agree,” he said in an interview on Tuesday.

Casey added, “People have had enough. They’ve tuned him out and they want him to go.”

Notably, Sean Casey is the second Liberal MP to openly demand Justin Trudeau’s resignation. Earlier, New Brunswick MP Wayne Long said that he believes that Trudeau should go. Montreal MP Anthony Housefather have a hint by saying that he believes it is time for the Liberals to talk about who will lead the party when Canadians go to the polls expected to be held in October 2025.

These comments from MPs come amid reports of an organised dissent against Trudeau in the Liberal Pary. it was reported last week that a growing number of party leaders are unhappy with the party chief, and want him to step down. The dissent has grown after the party’s loss in byelections Toronto—St. Paul’s and Montreal, as per reports. The MPs are unhappy with his leadership of the party.

Reportedly, such disgruntled leaders have held several meetings in the recent weeks, and they are being asked to sign a document asking Trudeau to resign. Several MPs have signed the document, which is not allowed to be photographed or photocopied. As per a report, around 20 MPs have signed the document so far, while many others are supporting the cause but not signed it yet.

One MP who said the document said that the signatures have spilled into second page, and many other MPs are inquiring about it indicating they also want to sign it.

However, before Sean Casey’s comments, nobody came forward openly with the demand.

According to one MP who is not part of the revolt, the number of MPs wanting the PM to resign is significant, and while earlier reports of dissent were rumours, this one is not.

Salute national flag and chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ 21 times: MP High Court’s bail condition for Faizal accused of chanting ‘Pakistan Zindabad Hindustan Murdabad’

The Madhya Pradesh High Court on Tuesday granted bail to a man accused of chanting ‘Pakistan Zindabad Hindustan Murdabad’ slogans on the condition that he will salute the national flag and chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ 21 times, twice a month. The accused Faizal Khan alias Faizan was granted bail on this condition along with a personal bond of ₹50,000.

Faizal Khan was arrested in May this year for allegedly raising anti-national slogans in Bhopal.

Granting him bail, a bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Paliwal ordered that till the trial of the case goes on, Faizal Khan will have to go to Misrod Police Station in Bhopal on every 1st and 4th Tuesday of the month and salute the national flag at the police station building. Apart from this, he will also have to raise the slogan  ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ 21 times. He has to arrive at the police station between 10 AM and 12 o’ clock on those two days in a month and mark his presence.

“Aforesaid condition has to be necessarily incorporated in bail papers. He shall also abide by all the conditions enumerated under Section 437(3) of Cr.P.C.,” the court order stated. The Court also directed the Bhopal Police Commissioner to ensure compliance with this condition for bail.

Faizal moved the high court seeking bail claiming that he has been falsely implicated in the case. However, during the hearing, his counsel accepted that his client was seen shouting the anti-national slogan. Therefore, the advocate requested he should be released on bail by imposing some stringent conditions.

The prosecution lawyer opposed the bail plea saying that he is a habitual offender and 14 criminal cases are registered against him. The state counsel said that in the video, he could be seen openly shouting slogans against the country in which he is born and brought up.

The state counsel also submitted that if the accused is not satisfied in India, he can opt to live in the country of his choice, for which he raised zindabad slogans.

Considering all the facts and arguments in the matter, the single judge bench agreed to grant him bail against the condition of saluting national flag and chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.

A resident of Mandideep in Raisen district, Faizal runs a puncture shop in Bhopal. He was arrested after a video went viral showing him raising Pakistan Zindabad and Hindustan Murdabad slogans in Bhopal. After the video appeared on social media, Bajrang Dal activists reached his puncture shop on Misrod area, nabbed him, and took him to the police station.

The Hindu activists also raised slogans demanding action in front of the police station. After that, a complaint was filed against him based on the video.

AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal claims that the Parliament building and surrounding areas have been built on Waqf property

AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal on Wednesday sparked a controversy claiming that the Parliament building and the areas surrounding it in the national capital have been built on the Waqf property.

Speaking to the reporters on Wednesday, Ajmal claimed that the area around Vasant Vihar in the national capital up to the airport has been built on Waqf property.

“There are voices and a list of Waqf properties across the world is out – the Parliament building, surrounding areas, and areas around Vasant Vihar up to the airport have been built on Waqf property. People also say that the airport has been built on Waqf property,” the AIUDF said.

“It is bad to use the Waqf land without permission. They will lose their Ministry very soon over this Waqf Board issue,” he added.

Meanwhile, the opposition MPs have written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on gross violation of the parliamentary code of conduct during the meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024.

The opposition MPs in the letter alleged numerous violations of the parliamentary code of conduct and rules of procedure by Committee Chairperson Jagdambika Pal during the Committee meeting held on October 14 in New Delhi.

In a letter to Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla, the opposition MPs stated, “The proceedings of the Committee were conducted in a biased and partisan manner by the Chairperson Jagdambika Pal. The invitation extended to Anwar Manippady to depose evidence before the Committee by the Chairperson is not within the scope and ambit of the Committee.”

The opposition MPs also claimed that a note titled to be a Presentation on the “Waqf Bill 2012 based on Karnataka Waqf Scam Report 2012” contained no observations on the Waqf Bill rather only politically motivated allegations against leaders of the Karnataka Congress including Mallikarjun Kharge.

“At the beginning of his remarks, Manippady circulated a note titled “Presentation on the Waqf Amendment Bill 2012 based on Karnataka Waqf Scam Report 2012″ to the committee members. The note contained no observations on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024. Instead, it was full of politically motivated allegations against leaders of the Karnataka Congress, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition (Rajya Sabha). Despite vehement protests by several committee members that Kharge occupies a constitutional position of high dignity and is not present in the meeting, the witness was allowed to speak by the Chairperson. Further, he refused to provide adequate time to committee members to lodge their protests,” read the letter.

“The Chairperson’s decision to allow the witness to continue speaking goes against basic rules of procedure as outlined in Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha’ (MN Kaul and SL Shakdher). The rules clearly state that matters which are sub judice, cannot be discussed incidentally. Further, the position of Leader of Opposition is a position of high dignity as defined by Kaul and Shakdher. Subsequently under Rule 353 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha, defamatory or incriminatory allegations cannot be made against any person unless the member is given adequate advance notice,” the letter read.

The opposition MPs in the letter also stated that the Members of the Committee were deprived of their fundamental right to voice their concerns and thoughts in a space which is expected to operate with the highest alignment to democratic values.

“We believe that it is imperative to infom you of the situation, as it not only involves an insult to the Leader of Opposition, Rajya Sabha, but paves a way for a marked departure from the spirit of bipartisanship and dignity expected from a parliamentary committee,” read the letter.

The letter further stated, “We request your immediate intervention in the matter, and expect you to remind the Chairperson of the Committee of his duty to be bipartisan and uphold parliamentary norms. It will be very difficult for Members of Parliament across party lines to continue working on the Joint Parliamentary Committee in the current partisan and politically motivated environment.”

The Joint Parliamentary Committee meeting on the Waqf Bill at Parliament Annexe, witnessed a heated exchange between ruling party MPs and opposition MPs, leading to an intense debate and the opposition MPs staging a walkout of the meeting.

However, opposition MPs, who previously walked out on Tuesday alleging the use of abusive language from a BJP MP and biased behaviour returned to participate in the meeting again. The opposition MPs who had walked out of the meeting earlier in the day also alleged that the Chairman of the committee Jagdambika Pal was being biased on many issues and not giving instructions to BJP/NDA MPs.

The opposition MPs had earlier on Monday also walked out of the JPC meeting on Waqf Bill over allegations made by Anwar Manippady, former Chairman of the Karnataka State Minorities Commission and the Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation.

According to the MPs, Manippady deviated from the agenda of the meeting and made a series of allegations against the Karnataka Government and levelled allegations against Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. The opposition MPs said that the allegations were irrelevant and unacceptable.
