‘Comedian’ Munawar Faruqui trivialises The Holocaust, had earlier mocked Godhra carnage victims

On February 1, controversial stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui uploaded a recording of a show on his YouTube channel in which he trivialised The Holocaust. In the 18-minute video, he hypothesised how things would have been if Hitler were a Gujarati. Faruqui not only mocked The Holocaust victims but also made fun of Gujaratis, Hindu holy symbol Swastika and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In the video, he said, “If Hitler was Gujarati, World War II would not have happened. I have a theory. His name would have been Hitesh. He would have a Hitler-style moustache, Jethalal. Hitler had a sign ‘Hail Hitler’, Hitesh would have ‘rokda’ (he turned his palm upside down to show if he was asking for money). Hitesh would have been a great person.”

He further talked about The Holocaust, where millions of Jews were targeted, taken to gas chambers and executed by Hitler’s Nazi army. He said, “Do you know about The Holocaust? I will tell you about it. Hitler killed Jews by putting them in gas chambers. On the contrary, if he was Hitesh, it would not have been a Holocaust. It would be called ‘haalo haalo caust’ (haalo is a colloquial Gujarati term for ‘lets go’). There would have been counters of food items like dhokla, khakra. Hitesh would have fed so much Dhokla to Jews, they would have died of gas.”

He added, “Do you know Hitler was a pure vegetarian. Animal lover. That’s a fu*king Gujarati thing. He could have been opened his own restaurant. Swastika Pure Veg.” Faruqui tried to insinuate that Hitler used the Hindu holy symbol Swastika, but in reality, it was a Christian hooked cross or Hakenkreuz.

“Hitler would have said ‘don’t feed them, fu*k them’ but Hitesh would have said ‘feed them. Add sugar to it,” He said.

He further mocked business tycoon late Dhirubhai Ambani. He said, “Do you know what Hitler’s dream was? ‘Kar Lo Duniya Muthi Mein’ (Rule the world). That sounds like a Gujarati dream. But if he had been a Gujarati, he would not have ruled the world by killing someone. He would have done that by selling sim cards. Sell sim cards, fund someone, they will kill everyone.” The slogan ‘Kar Lo Duniya Muthi Mein’ was used by Reliance Mobile in 2002 when it first hit the market.

Faruqui also mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his act. While talking about how Hitler died, he said people died in India for two reasons, love loss and money loss. He said, “Hitler had committed suicide. If he was a Gujarati and faced money loss, he would have left the country but not committed suicide. If there was a love loss, he would have left the girl and become Prime Minister.”

Towards the end, he said, “If someone is a Muslim and Gujarati, he will not get an apartment easily. But if you are a bachelor and Gujarati and you do not have a wife, you still get a country to run.”

Faruqui had mocked victims of Godhra carnage

Faruqui has a history of using the misery of others during his alleged stand-up acts. In April 2020, a video of Faruqui went viral in which he had mocked the victims of Godhra carnage where 58 Hindus returning from Ayodhya were burnt alive by a Muslim mob. He has been stopped from performing in different cities by Hindu outfits multiple times because of his controversial history.

Uttarakhand: Congress leader Harish Rawat promises to open a Muslim University if elected as the Chief Minister

Ahead of the Uttarakhand state assembly elections, Congress leader Harish Rawat has promised to open a Muslim University in the state if he gets elected as the Chief Minister. Congress leader Aqeel Ahmed withdrew his nomination from the Sahaspur constituency on Wednesday and said that Rawat has promised him to build a university for Muslim students if Congress comes to power.

Uttarakhand BJP posted a video of Aqeel Ahmed supporting Congress leader Aryendra Sharma from Sahaspur constituency and quoted that Congress has only one agenda and that is to build a Muslim University in the state.

According to the video, Aqeel Ahmed who belongs to Sahaspur is said to have taken back his nomination for Assembly Elections 2022, only after 12 of his demands were approved by the former CM and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat. Ahmed confirmed that state congress leader Devendra Yadav also supported one of his 12 demands, to open a university for Muslims.

“I am ready to support Aryendra Sharma to fight elections from Sahaspur constituency. I have no problem as Harish Rawat ji and Devendra Yadav has agreed to my demands. Rawat ji has promised to construct a university for Muslims students in Uttarakhand. I don’t want anything else”, he said in the video that went viral on social media.

Reports mention that Congress in the state is anxious about votes getting split up in a few seats in the minority bastion in Uttarakhand with rivals such as SP, BSP and AIMIM fielding Muslim candidates.

It is pertinent to note that the Congress that is backing to open a Muslim University in Uttarakhand had revolted against the proposal to build a Sanskrit University in Karnataka. On January 16, after the Karnataka government allotted 100 acres of land for the permanent campus of Karnataka Sanskrit University, Congress Spokesperson A N Nataraja Gowda opposed the construction and called it ‘useless’.

The Karnataka state Congress Secretary and Spokesperson had tweeted, “…Instead of boosting tourism sector of this taluk govt is allotting land to useless Sanskrit university.”

Legislative Assembly elections will be held in Uttarakhand on 14th February this year to elect 70 members of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. The votes will be counted and the results will be declared on 10th March.

Bhopal Congress MLA Arif Masood files plea against Surya Namaskar in schools as it is ‘against Islam’

Bhopal Congress MLA Arif Masood has filed a plea in Madhya Pradesh High Court opposing the Surya namaskar programme being held in all government-run educational institutions from January 1 to February 7 on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. The plea will be taken up for hearing on February 8, 2022.

Surya Namaskar contrary to Islamic principles: Congress MLA Arif Masood

The Congress MLA in his plea argued that the University Grants Commission directed higher education institutions and affiliated colleges to participate in a Surya Namskar programme, which was contrary to Islamic principles and the Constitution.

“Surya Namaskar is considered as Sun worship. Worshipping the sun is against Islam. The Constitution does not allow us to teach teachings of a particular religion in government educational institutions or to organize celebrations based on the beliefs of a particular group,” the petition said.

“The notification is infringing the right to liberty, freedom of religion of an individual as India is a secular country one should not be allowed to imply such things on anyone without their free will or consent,” the petition said. It added that the government should withdraw the order as worshipping the sun as a deity is not allowed in Islam.

The lawyer appearing for the Congress MLA cited an order passed earlier by the Madhya Pradesh high court in 2007 and urged that attending the Surya Namaskar should be voluntary, not compulsory.

Congress MLA challenges Madhya Pradesh Govt and other sports and central bodies

The petition contends that educational institutions should not be expected to participate in the Surya Namaskar event in front of the tricolour on Republic Day. The petitioner also questioned the decision of the state government of Madhya Pradesh, Patanjali Yogpeeth, Heartfulness Institute, NYSF National Yogasana Sports Federation, Geeta Parivar, and Kreeda Bharati, Ministry of Ayush, Ministry of Education, Ministry of External Affairs, and ICCR, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in the petition.

Who is Congress MLA Arif Masood

Arif Masood is the same Congress MLA against whom Bhopal’s Talaiya Police had in 2020 filed an FIR under Section 153 (hurting religious sentiments) of IPC. The case was filed against him for allegedly hurting religious sentiments during a protest he had organized at Iqbal ground against French President Macron.

Masood had allegedly attacked the State and Centre governments and called them ‘Hinduwadi’ as the Centre has shown support to France in the fight against radical Islam. An effigy of the French President and the country’s flag was also burnt during that event.

As per the reports, the Municipal Corporation of Bhopal had also that year demolished a college building belonging to Arif Masood on the bank of a pond. The corporation demolished around 12,000 square feet of unauthorised construction in the presence of a heavy police force.

In a statement, Masood had claimed that he has the constitutional right to protest against anyone who speaks against his religion. Under his leadership, while raising chants of Islamic slogans such as ‘Naara-e-Takbeer’, Muslims in Bhopal protested against French President Emmanuel Macron for his alleged ‘Islamophobic’ act. Masood had said that thousands of Muslims had assembled at Iqbal Maidan on Thursday to protest against the French President for speaking ill against Prophet Muhammad.

Other Islamists who have opposed Surya Namaskar

On the occasion of the 75th Republic Day celebrations, the central government had directed that special programmes to perform ‘Surya Namaskar’ with musical instruments be organised across the country from January 1 to February 7 on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. The goal is to reach a 75-crore ‘Surya Namaskar’ target by involving three lakh students across 30 states and 30,000 institutes.

Besides the Congress MLA, several other Islamic fundamentalists have raised objections to the central government’s decision to organise ‘Surya Namaskar’ programmes across 30 states and 30,000 institutes to mark the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. Recently, the Karnataka unit of the radical Islamist outfit Jamat-E-Islami Hind had taken strong objection to the central government’s directive to perform ‘Surya Namaskar’ on R-Day and asked Muslim students and parents to refrain from participating in such “idolatrous practice” as it is against Islam.

On January 4, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) had also objected to the central government’s directive to organise ‘Surya Namaskar’ in schools between January 1 to 7 on the 75th anniversary of Independence Day, stating that Islam prohibits ‘Surya Namaskar’ as it is a form of Surya puja.

On January 9, Janta Dal (United)’s Bihar MLC Gulam Rasool Balyawi created a controversy by refusing to participate in the ‘Surya Namaskar’ event that was being organised by BJP on January 12 to mark the birth anniversary of Swamy Vivekananda, as it is not allowed in Islam. He added that as Allah gave birth to the sun, Muslims can’t pray to the sun.

Congress leader Kamal Nath has also opposed the Surya Namaskar day on January 12, although for different reasons. He has demanded that the event should be cancelled due to the Covid-19 situation, which has started to worsen in the country.

Andhra Pradesh: Jinnah Tower painted in tricolour days after Guntur Police arrested Hindu groups for hoisting India’s national flag there

On Wednesday, the Jinnah Tower in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur was seen painted in tricolour after the ruling YSRCP MLA Mohammad Mustafa pledged to hoist India’s national flag at the Jinnah Circle. This is after the controversy that errupted on Republic day as the Guntur Police arrested the members of the Hindu Vahini Group for trying to unfurl India’s national flag at the circle named after Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

According to the reports, YSRCP MLA Mohammad Mustafa said that on request of various groups, he had decided to make arrangements to hoist national flag at the Tower, now painted in tricolor. “Muslim leaders fought against the British during the freedom struggle. After Independence, some Muslims left India and settled in Pakistan. But we wanted to continue to live in our country as Indians and we love our motherland”, he was quoted.

On January 26, as the nation celebrated 73rd Republic Day, the Guntur Police used force to control people who were trying to unfurl tricolour on the tower. They arrested a few and increased the security in area ensuring no one climbed the tower to hoist India’s national flag.

The video of the incident went viral over the social media attracting wide criticism from the netizens who asked why there still is a tower and a circle named after Jinnah in India. Netizens also compared the episode to that in Srinagar and said that once upon a time this would be witnessed in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk.

A month ago, the BJP National Secretary Y Satya Kumar had also called for the renaming of Jinnah Tower Centre. In his tweet he had said that it was an insult to the country to have a centre with the name of a traitor even after 75 years. Kumar along with Telangana BJP MLA Raja Singh demanded the tower to be renamed in APJ Abdul Kalam’s name.

The Jinnah tower located on Mahatma Gandhi Road in Guntur is a one of its kind tower named after Mohammed Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. As reported earlier, the tower in Guntur allegedly stands as a ‘symbol of peace and harmony’ in the city. One theory of its origins suggests that Lal Jan Basha, a Telugu Desam Party member felicitated Judaliyaquat Ali Khan, a representative of Jinnah when visited Guntur in the pre-Independence era by building this tower.

PIB exposes fake news by NDTV on Union Budget

On February 1, the Press Information Bureau’s fact-checking arm debunked NDTV’s claims that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a reduction of corporate tax from 18% to 15%.

In a tweet, PIB Fact Check said, “Fake news is being spread about reduction of Corporate tax in the Budget. The government has proposed to reduce the Alternate Minimum Tax rate for cooperative societies to 15% from the current 18.5%.”

NDTV claimed corporate tax reduced during the live telecast

News channel NDTV’s screenshot was shared by PIB in the tweet while debunking the claim. The budget speech that NDTV telecasted live on Tuesday is available on its YouTube channel. At the 1:16 timestamp, the misleading note that NDTV ran is still available in the video.

What did FM announce?

During her speech, FM Sitharaman said, “Currently, cooperative societies are required to pay Alternate Minimum Tax at the rate of eighteen and one half per cent. However, companies pay the same at the rate of fifteen per cent. To provide a level playing field between co-operative societies and companies, I, propose to reduce this rate for the cooperative societies also to fifteen per cent.”

What is AMT?

AMT or Alternate Minimum Tax is the minimum tax that cooperative societies have to pay if they claim profit-linked deductions in a financial year where the normal tax payable is less than AMT. It works on the same principle as Minimum Alternate Tax (MAT) that is applicable for companies. Earlier, the AMT for cooperative societies was 18.5%, which has been reduced to 15%.

Over 2000 donation boxes for Pakistan based Dawat-e-Islami found in Ahmedabad, money collected routed to brainwash Muslim youth: Report

In a sensational revelation, over 2000 donation boxes for Pakistan based Islamic organisation Dawat-e-Islami, which has inspired terror activities in recent times, have been found in Ahmedabad itself. The same was reported in Gujarat-based local daily Sandesh.

As per the report, the money collected in the donation boxes is sent to Pakistan from where it is routed back to India via Dubai under the guise of providing Islamic education to Muslims but it is used to brainwash them instead. Maulana Usmani, whose name has come up as an accused in the Kishan Bharwad murder case, is believed to be running a centre of Dawat-e-Islami.

Delhi-based accused Maulana Usmani has been working towards the goal of Ghazwa-e-Hind, that is turning India into an Islamic state.

The Islamic organisation is based out of Karachi, Pakistan and has branches across the world. It was founded in 1981 by Maulana Abu Bilal Muhammad Ilyas Attari and was started as a revivalist organisation inspired by Sufi doctrines. Except, it has since developed into an extremist Islamist outfit with brazen terror links.

Recently in 2020, one of the terrorists who were involved in the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris named DIE founder Ilyas Attari as his guide. A Pakistani terrorist named Md Ashraf, who was arrested in Delhi in October 2021 was also found to be linked with this organisation.

As per the Sandesh report, the money collected in hundreds of donation boxes across Ahmedabad is sent to Pakistan and through various hawala means is routed to India through Dubai.

The anti-terrorism squad team had visited Jamalpur with Maulvi Ayyub, one of the accused in Kishan Bharwad case who had allegedly provided the gun to the killers. The ATS team also searched his house near Hotel Riyaz in Jamalpur. They have seized a book ‘Jazba-e-Shahadat’ written by Maulvi Ayyub in Hindi and in Gujarati. They also confiscated an airgun he had which he used to practice shooting on.

Over and above, the accused, Shabbir alias Saba Chopra, Imtiyaz Pathan, Maulana Ayyub Jawrawala, Azim Sama and Qamar Ghani Usmani and others are charged under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act) and GUJCTOC (Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Unorganised Crime) Act.

On 25th January, 2022, Dhandhuka youth Kishan Bharwad was shot dead by two men on a bike over alleged blasphemy. He had shared a post on social media which contained image of Prophet Muhammad. Any visual depiction of Prophet Muhammad is blasphemy and Islamists believe a person who commits such blasphemy should be killed. Further investigation in the case has revealed that the murder was likely part of a larger conspiracy.

Then how can Mathura and Vrindavan be left behind?” he tweeted. He added that Brij Teerth Vikas Parishad is working towards the same.

Mathura is the birth place of Shree Krishna and known as the Krishna Janmabhoomi. Right next to the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple is the Mughal era Shahi Eidgah mosque.

Yogi Adityanath will be on a visit to Mathura today ahead of first phase of voting in upcoming state assembly elections where Mathura will go to polls. He is expected to hold several jan sabhas and address people.

Rahul Gandhi makes of mockery of himself after sharing a video of friendly banter between an uncle-nephew duo to malign Hindutva

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday made a mockery of himself after he shared a video of friendly banter between an uncle-nephew duo to continue his politics of maligning Hindutva.

Quoting a video shared by journalist Arvind Chauhan, Gandhi tweeted, “The politics of Hindutva means hooliganism.”

Earlier, Arvind Chauhan had posted a video alleging that a BJP councillor from Govind Nagar(Kanpur) was allegedly threatening a senior citizen to favoured to vote against the saffron party.

“BJP councillor of ward 91 from Govind Nagar assembly (#Kanpur), Raghavendra Mishra caught on camera for allegedly threatening a senior citizen who favours voting against the saffron party,” Chauhan had tweeted along with the video.

In the video shared by Arvind, BJP councillor Raghavendra Mishra could be seen accosting and asking the senior citizen to support the BJP. The old man, on the other hand, who appeared to be against the BJP, fiercely stands his ground, asking Mishra as to why should he be supporting the saffron party.

Rahul Gandhi’s propaganda against Hindutva busted after senior citizen admits to having fun in the video

The video went viral on social media, following which Rahul Gandhi quoted it and tried to use it to defame Hindutva. However, shortly later, Arvind issued a clarification on the incident stating that the senior citizen was the uncle of BJP councillor Raghavendra Mishra and the duo was joking in the video.

In the video shared above, the senior citizen admits that he is the uncle of BJP councillor Raghavendra Mishra and that their video was merely made in jest.

“The video that had gone viral was an internal matter of our family. I am related to his(Raghavendra Mishra) father. We may be supporters of different parties but we share an affectionate bond with each other. The video of fighting between us was all in fun. He was trying to persuade me to support BJP and I was countering him why should I support the saffron party,” Mishra’s uncle said.

Hindu activists protest against illegal conversion of porters’ restroom to mosque inside Bengaluru railway station

A controversy has erupted in Bengaluru after Hindu activists in the city protested against the illegal conversion of public property inside the Krantiveera Sangoli Rayanna railway station to a mosque.

A video had gone viral on the internet a few days ago, in which it was alleged that a mosque was unlawfully set up by converting a porters’ restroom on platform number 5 of KSR railway station in Bengaluru. A social media user had released a video on Twitter alleging that the porters’ restroom at a platform in KSR railway station in Bengaluru was converted into a mosque.

The social media users had urged Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Indian Railways to take needful action against the illegal occupation of public property and turning into a mosque.

According to the reports, the restroom was constructed for the porters belonging to all the communities. However, it is said that the room was converted into a mosque about ten years back. The members of other communities are banned from visiting this particular room. Reportedly, the mosque is known as Masjid-e-Noorani.

Hindu activists protest against illegal mosque at Bengaluru railway station

The videos stoked massive controversy in the state, leading to which the civilians in the city protested against the illegal conversion of public property into a mosque. On Monday, the members of Hindu Janajagruti Vedike also protested against the South Western Railway officials for allowing the unlawful conversion of porters’ rooms inside the railway station.

The activists confronted the officials on Monday and entered the illegal mosque. Various Hindu outfits have also demanded that railway officials close the illegal mosque. The civilians questioned the laxity of railway authorities for allowing such a mosque within the railway station.

The Hindu activists have also written a complaint regarding the grave issue. In a letter to South Western railway authorities, the Hindu activists have urged the officials to take legal action on the unauthorised place of prayer at platform number 5.

In the letter, the Hindu Janajagrana Vedike activists said that it was highly condemnable that the resting room of workers has been converted to a place of prayer inside Krantiveer Sangolli Rayanna railway station. The Hindu activists alleged that the matter was a serious issue and a threat from the national security standpoint.

“Bengaluru KSR railway station is an important station of the state. Even though there are many masjids around the railway station, giving permission for prayers on the platform seems to be a conspiracy,” the letter read.

A conspiracy to convert public places into mosques: Hindu activists

The letter further said that it was a conspiracy by a section to convert public properties into a place of prayer, and there are chances of demands to convert this place into a mosque.

“Presently, Bengaluru has been made a haven of terror activities. The National Investigating Authorities had arrested West Bengal based Adil Asadullah from the Bengaluru Cantonment station in 2018. In 2019, the NIA had arrested a terrorist, Mohamed Akram, from the Majestic area in Bengaluru. The police had arrested a Bangladesh based terrorist of Jamaat Ul Mujahideen member, who was hiding in the Cottonpet Masjid in Bengaluru,” the Hindu activists said.

The Hindu activists have also requested to take immediate action on those who have permitted the unauthorised place of prayer, failing which, there will have to be a severe protest, said the Hindu activists in the letter.

Meanwhile, according to Times Now journalist Imran Khan, the officials at South Western railways have said that this prayer hall has existed for several years now.

A senior railway police officer reportedly said that the officials did not know about the conversion till the video appeared on social media. The Railway Protection Force officials said they visited the spot and promised to initiate legal action if the site was changed into a prayer centre.
