As per the FIR, Banerjee along with other TMC leaders misbehaved with Additional SP Khowai and SDPO, Khowai by shouting at them in their chamber and also said that all the policemen are ‘dalal’ (broker) of the BJP. When the police requested them to leave and let them continue do their duty they did not do so. The FIR also accuses them of staying in front of PS building and creating a ruckus. DCGI approves study at CMC Vellore to test efficacy of mixing doses of Covaxin and Covishield vaccines

On August 10, the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) approved a study to determine if the doses of Covaxin and Covidshield vaccines can be mixed to fight against Coronavirus. The study and clinical trials will be conducted at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, Tamil Nadu.

In the month of July, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), an expert panel of the central drug Authority, recommended granting permission to the institute to conduct clinical trials of mixing the vaccine doses. The panel had also recommended granting permission to Bharat Biotech to carry out a study on the inter-changeability of Covaxin and the under-trial adenoviral intranasal vaccine candidate BBV154. Notably, Bharat Biotech was asked to remove “inter-changeability” from the study title and resubmit the revised proposal.

The Phase-4 clinical trial of the study would include 300 healthy volunteers for mixing the doses of Covaxin and Covidshield. According to the expert panel, the study aims to determine if a person can take two different vaccine shots, i.e. one of each Covaxin and Covidshied, to complete the vaccination course.

Islamists and Pakistan sympathisers had come to the rescue of terror accused journalist Adil Farooq after his arrest in 2019

The Jammu and Kashmir Police had arrested a 26-year-old journalist Adil Farooq Bhat near Lal Chowk, Srinagar, on Tuesday and had recovered grenades from his possession. The J&K police had arrested Adil Farooq, a journalist working as a sub-editor with CNS News Agency in Press Enclave.

The arrest had come just hours after a horrific grenade attack at Hari Singh High Street near Srinagar’s Lal Chowk, leaving ten civilians injured.

The J&K Police had said that the terrorist masquerading as a journalist, Adil Farooq Bhat had two hand grenades in his possession. The police said that Adil Farooq, who originally hails from Khrew, Pampore of Pulwama in South Kashmir, is being currently interrogated for his role in terror attacks. The police added they suspected that a wider nexus might be at play.

This is not the first time that the journalist-cum-terrorist has been involved in terrorist activities. Previously, he was arrested in the year 2019 for his providing logistical support to Islamic terrorists.

Adil Farooq, who was then a journalism student at the Central University of Kashmir, was booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted to Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu for working as an overground worker of terrorists.

The Public Safety Act (PSA) dossier from 2019 regarding Adil Farooq shared by Kashmiri journalist Aditya Raj Kaul said, “You met with various militants in whose influence you developed a militant ideology. As a result, you established a link with the Hurriyat leader Bilal Gani Lone under whose instructions you remained pro-active in instigating the same ideology amongst the people and youth of the area. You have also liaison with one militant, namely Mohammad Ayoub Lone, alias pilot of banned militant organisation Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and his other militant associates for whom you are working as over ground worker as being a local you know topography of the area which leads to the safe transportation of illegal arms and ammunition through unconventional routes and away from the security forces.”

Following his arrest in 2019, the J&K Police had accused Adil Farooq of providing terrorists with all possible help including food, shelter, logistics and transportation in Kashmir. In addition, the dossier had accused Adil and his associates of hatching a “criminal conspiracy” to undertake terrorist activity in the area of Khrew.

Pro-Pakistani separatists, Islamists had come to Adil Farooq’s rescue in 2019

Shockingly, soon after his arrest in 2019, several pro-Pakistan elements in Kashmir, Islamists, and a section of “liberal-secular” media had rallied on to support the journalist-cum-terrorist Adil Farooq. Following his detention in 2019 over terror charges, pro-Pakistani separatist Mirwaiz Umar Farooq had condemned the arrest of the alleged journalist and had claimed that he was falsely booked under Public Safety Act (PSA).

The pro-Pakistani propagandist had claimed that the government was hellbent upon ruining the careers of students and youths by implicating them in “false” cases.

Similarly, many had then started a campaign in support of Adil Farooq, claiming that the government was using PSA to suppress every voice in Kashmir.

In fact, even the “liberal-secular” media had descended down to absolve Adil Farooq after he was detained on the charges of supporting terror networks. The left-wing news outlet ‘The Vice’ had published an article about how the Kashmiri “student” has been struggling with the “New Normal” of freedom after being in jail for a year under the PSA.

With the arrest of the alleged journalist on terror charges, several people have now raised apprehensions about terrorists using the cover of journalists to carry out well-planned terror attacks in the valley. They have demanded the government that the journalists should now be scrutinised before granting them permission to enter Jammu and Kashmir.

Maharashtra Govt announces new award in Rajiv Gandhi’s name after Centre renames Khel Ratna

Shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced renaming the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, the Maharashtra government with Congress in alliance announced a new IT excellence award in the former PM’s name.

Maharashtra government on Tuesday announced a new award named after Rajiv Gandhi to felicitate companies and institutions for excellence in the IT sector.

Satej Patil Minister of State for Information and Technology took to Twitter to inform that the award will be given every year on August 20, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi.

“As the Minister of State for IT, Maharashtra, it fills my heart with pride to announce that MVA Govt. has declared an award on 20th August 2021 in the name of Late Shri. Rajiv Gandhi Ji to encourage organizations excelling in the IT sector in Maharashtra,” read his Tweet.

Patil in his Tweet claimed that the award will be a tribute to Rajiv Gandhi’s contribution to the technology sector. “The award will be a lasting tribute to Late Shri Rajiv Ji for his pioneering work in the technology sector in India,” he said in the Tweet.

Netizens, however, mocked the move and criticized the state government for naming yet another award in the name of the Gandhi’s.

One netizen suggested renaming the state of Maharashtra.

While another user recommended renaming the technological software and programs after the former Prime Minister.

Sena opposed renaming of Khel Ratna award

Shiv Sena- a wheel in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government was not pleased with PM Modi renaming the Khel Ratna award after legendary player Major Dhyan Chand. Sena in its mouthpiece Saamna on Monday claimed that the Centre’s decision to rename the Rajiv Gandhi was a ‘political game’ and not the people’s wish.

Taking a potshot at the obvious, Sena questioned PM Modi’s contribution to cricket to have a stadium named after him. “Major Dhyan Chand could have been honored without insulting Rajiv Gandhi’s sacrifice. But, the country has lost such tradition and culture. It would have made Dhyan Chand sad in heaven,” said the Sena.

Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib spotted at wedding dancing without mask after criticising Senator for opposing mandates

Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib was spotted dancing at a wedding without mask after criticising Senator Rand Paul for urging people to resist mask mandates and other federal guidelines. The ‘Squad’ member was spotted dancing and making merry mask-less at the wedding in her home state of Michigan, which has a “substantial” Covid-19 transmission.

A video of the event was shared on Instagram by Bassam Saleh, a wedding band in Dearborn, Michigan. Rashida Tlaib also posed for photos where she can be observed without a mask. “The KY Senator is throwing a tantrum as his state is being swallowed whole by this virus, again,” Tlaib said of Paul in a tweet.

“People are getting sick and dying 98 counties in Kentucky have a high incidence rate of COVID-19. He needs to put politics aside, and put people first. Start resisting the virus,” she added.

The hypocrisy on her part has attracted a lot of criticism on social media from commentators and her Republican opponents alike.

Her move comes only days after former US President Barack Obama was heavily criticised for holding a birthday bash without vaccine and mask requirements. Obama was spotted without wearing a mask as well. People pointed it out while criticising Tlaib as well.

Social media users criticised Tlaib as well.

Earlier, fellow ‘Squad’ member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was spotted wearing a mask for a photo-op for the camera, only to remove it as soon as it was over.

Democratic politicians have been often spotted violating their own positions on Covid restrictions after condemning others for violating them. Rashida Tlaib has joined the long list of politicians who failed to live up the restrictions she wants others to live by.

Joe Biden administration enlists TikTok influencers to promote vaccines among 12 year old children

The Joe Biden administration in the United States has sought the services of TikTok influencers to promote vaccine acceptance among children, journalist Benny Johnson revealed in a Twitter thread.

Johnson, who got hold of the confidential email sent by the White House’s PR team to TikTok influencers and shared the same on Twitter, said that the Joe Biden administration asked prominent individuals on the video-sharing focused social networking service to do an intimate call with Dr Fauci and create content to promote vaccines among children.

“The goal is to have…ask questions on behalf of the community and educate young people around the vaccine as there is massive need to grow awareness within the 12-25 age group,” the screenshot of the confidential email shared by Johnson read.

Johnson also shared an extremely cringe-worthy video that was supposedly created by one of the TikTok influencers to create awareness about taking vaccines among children and teens.

The embarrassing video shows a man decked up in unseemly clothes working as an intern at the White House. It depicts how “woke” it is to spend a day as an intern at the White House, working with the politicians and ensuring that Americans are jabbed with vaccines.

Senior Editor at Human Events, Jack Posobiec reacted to Johnson’s expose, stating that the White House PR team went into a tizzy after the influencer email got leaked by Benny Johnson.

Posobiec said the White House team perhaps did not think that the emails would be leaked to anyone on the political right and assumed Tik Tok users to be Gen Z/Millennial Left.

Joe Biden administration employs 50 social media influencers to promote vaccine acceptance

Earlier last week, the US government enlisted 50 Twitch streamers, YouTubers and TikTokers to help them drum up their vaccination numbers and combat the scourge of vaccine misinformation being spread on social media.

According to The New York Times, the White House had partnered with the firm Village Marketing and Made to Save, a national campaign aimed at promoting access to coronavirus vaccines, in using influencers to help with its message.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki had defended the government’s strategy of enlisting social media celebs, saying the goal is “meet people where they are” by using influencers to spread accurate information with larger audiences. Psaki had then also acknowledged that, for some people, Biden is not the best messenger to ease their hesitancy about the vaccine and that other trusted voices can help reassure some people.

Islamists trend ‘Kejriwal Sanghi Hai’ against the Delhi CM for not condemning anti-Muslim slogans, had called him ‘Sanghi snake’ earlier

Twitter was on Tuesday awash with posts that called Delhi chief minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal a “Sanghi”, a term that is loosely used by Islamists and liberals online to refer to people belonging to non-left sections.

#KejriwalSanghiHai and its Hindi version #केजरीवालसंघीहै started doing the rounds on Twitter as a bevy of social media users, apparently, Muslims slammed the Delhi chief minister for not expressing his condemnation over the anti-Muslim slogans that were raised in the national capital’s Jantar Mantar earlier on August 8 (Sunday).

Disgruntled by the fact that Arvind Kejriwal chose to maintain a stoic silence over the incident, a large number of seemingly Muslim social media users took to Twitter to express their disapproval with the Aam Aadmi Party chief.

Many users commented that Kejriwal is a Sanghi because he did not denounce the anti-Muslim slogans raised in Delhi.

Islamists had criticised Arvind Kejriwal earlier as well

Islamists had slammed Arvind Kejriwal when he asked the Muslim community to celebrate Shab-e-Baarat indoors in April last year during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Delhi CM was also criticised for apparently not supporting the Shaheen Bagh protesters and the Jamia rioters.

He was called a ‘Sanghi snake’ for claiming that the anti-CAA protests were sponsored by the BJP. During the run up to the Delhi elections, Kejriwal had resorted to singing the Hanuman Chalisa on news channels to appeal to Hindu voters. But in doing so, he had incurred the wrath of Islamists on social media.

Arvind Kejriwal and his anti-Hindu tilt

The Islamists might be far more displeased knowing Arvind Kejriwal’s pronounced anti-Hindu bent. Several times in the Kejriwal have been seen making Hinduphobic comments. Additionally, radical Islamists like Amanatulla Khan and Delhi anti-Hindu riot accused Tahir Khan, who have brandished their anti-Hindu credentials loud and clear, continue to be one of Kejriwal’s family.

Kejriwal had earlier questioned the construction of Ram Mandir. In another instance, when leftist students at JNU had attacked ABVP students in January 2020 over semester form, Kejriwal had shared a cartoon that showed how Lord Hanuman ‘set fire’ to JNU as a distraction. Ahead of the 2019 general elections, Kejriwal had shared an image where a man with a broom can be seen hitting the Swastika symbol, a symbol holy to Hindus, Buddhists and Jains.

Controversy surrounding anti-Muslim slogans raised in Delhi

Meanwhile, speaking about the recent controversy over the anti-Muslim slogans raised in Jantar Mantar, a video showing a group of people shouting inflammatory slogans and threatening Muslims went viral on social media with claims that it is from the event which was organised by the BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay in Jantar Mantar against ‘Colonial-era laws’ on Sunday.

Ashwini Upadhyay, who had organised a rally to seek the repealing of colonial-era laws and to make laws uniform for all citizens across India, had clearly disassociated himself with the people who reportedly raised the communal slogans. Despite this, the Supreme Court lawyer and BJP leader, along with five others were formally arrested by the Delhi Police on August 10 (Tuesday).

As per reports, Upadhyay was summoned at 3 am for examination by the Connaught Place police station.

The other detained persons have been identified as Deepak Singh Hindu, Vineet Kranti, Preet Singh and Vinod Sharma, who is the head of Sudarshan Vahini.

Uttar Pradesh: Former MLA Jitendra Singh Bablu expelled from BJP after Rita Bahuguna Joshi objects to his entry

BJP has expelled Jitendra Singh Bablu, the former BSP member, who had recently joined the saffron party. The expulsion reportedly took place after BJP leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi filed a complaint with the party, opposing Bablu’s entry into the BJP. Bablu has been accused of burning down Ritu’s house when he was in BSP.

Jitendra Singh Bablu, who is booked in a dozen cases, was BSP MLA in the Mayawati government. He held sway in the BSP government and was considered a close aide to BSP supremo and then UP CM Mayawati. His brother was made MLC by Mayawati. Bablu hogged the national limelight after an attempt was made to burn down the house of the then state Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi.

A case was registered against Bablu and his associates. He also had to go to jail in connection with the case. Rita Bahuguna is now in BJP. She is the party’s Lok Sabha MP from Prayagraj. She also served as a minister in the Yogi government.

Earlier this month, on August 4, BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh had invited Jitendra Singh Bablu to join the party in a function organised in state capital Lucknow. Rita Bahuguna had then objected to the entry of Bablu in the saffron fold. Joshi had apprised her reservations regarding Bablu to the party leadership. However, the state unit went ahead and inducted Jitendra Singh Bablu into the party. Attempts were made to bring Bablu into the party last year as well, but the decision had been deferred after strong opposition from party workers.

CNS News Agency journalist Adil Farooq caught with grenades in Srinagar, was earlier arrested in 2019

The Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested a 26-year-old youth at Lal Chowk Srinagar, Kashmir and recovered two grenades from his possession. The youth arrested has been identified as Adil Farooq, a journalist working as a sub-editor with CNS News Agency in Press Enclave.

According to news agency ANI, the journalist was previously arrested in the year 2019.

“Two live hand grenades were recovered from his bag,” the officer said, adding, “He is being interrogated and further investigations are underway,” the officer said.

The PSA dossier from 2019

The Public Safety Act (PSA) dossier from 2019 regarding Adil Farooq shared by Aditya Raj Kaul says, “You met with various militants in whose influence you developed a militant ideology. As a result, you established a link with the Hurriyat leader Bilal Gani Lone under whose instructions you remained pro- active in instigating the same ideology amongst the people and youth of the area. You have also liaison with one militant namely Mohammad Ayoub Lone alias pilot of banned militant organisation Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and his other militant associates for whom you are working as over ground worker as being a local you know topography of the area which leads to safe transportation of illegal arms and ammunition through unconventional routes and away from the security forces.”

It adds, “Besides, you were providing them all possible help including food, shelter, logistics and transportation from one place to another regarding which case vide FIR number 20/2017 under sections 18,19,20,39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act stands registered in police station Pampore.”

The dossier stated further, “The activities as projected in the dossier run heavily against you and are highly prejudicial to the security of the state. Being highly motivated to carry on the illegal designs you are not likely to desist from anti-national and anti-social activities. You are directly involved in the above- mentioned cases and the normal laws are not sufficient to deter you from anti-national activities.”

The arrest happened alongside a grenade attack at security personnel near Amira Kadal bridge at Srinagar’s Hari Singh High Street which left 5 civilians injured today.

According to reports, terrorists on August 10 (Tuesday) launched grenades at security forces at around 2.40 pm to target a bunker of SSB. The grenade, however, exploded by the roadside injuring 5 civilians. There has been no injury to any security force personnel,” Kishore Prasad, DIG CRPF in Srinagar, said.
