Naga insurgent group detains and brutally beats up one of its own cadre for carrying tricolour and initiating peace march in Kohima

The Naga insurgent group NSCN-IM detained one of its own cadre in Nagaland for carrying the national flag. A Naga youth from Manipur was brutally beaten up by NSCN-IM cadre for initiating a peace march by carrying the National Flag of India.

According to the reports, YS Mashungmi, a young Tangkhul Naga from Ukhrul district of Manipur and also a cadre of NSCN-IM, was allegedly detained and tortured by the Naga insurgents after he carried out a ‘peace march’ in Dimapur in Nagaland on December 8.

In a statement, the Naga insurgent group said the daring venture by Mashungmi, no matter how patriotic it may appear in the eyes of the beholder, amounted to violation of disciplinary code of conduct. “Security implications were also taken into account to abort his peace march midway. Mashungmi is being debriefed to establish the idea behind his peace march,” the statement said.

Reportedly, Mashungmi had begun a ‘peace march’ on December 8 from Dimapur and intended to travel throughout Nagaland carrying a local flag and the Indian national flag to spread the message of peace, brotherhood, reconciliation and unity.

He had also recently walked 70 km from Nagaland’s commercial town of Dimapur to state capital Kohima for “spreading the message of peace”.

However, during his peace march, some NSCN-IM cadres caught him in Kohima and forcibly detained him to their headquarters at Hebron, about 35 km southwest of Dimapur. The officials said the insurgent group has charged him for carrying out “anti-national activities”. It is not yet clear whether Mashungmi is released or still in the Naga custody.

Naga insurgency and their demand for separate homeland ‘Nagalim’

The Naga-Maoist militant group National Socialist Council of Nagaland, has been waging a bloody insurgent war for a separate homeland ‘Nagalim’ since India’s independence. Over years, the Naga insurgence has weakened and integration of the Naga people into India has been largely successful. However, a few factions of NSCN, especially led by Isak Chishi Swu and Thuingaleng Muivah faction has carried out low-level insurgency against the state demanding ‘Nagalim’.

Nagalim, a long-pending demand of the NSCN-IM for a separate Naga state, encompasses the Naga-inhabited areas of Myanmar as well as parts of the northeastern states bordering Nagaland.

The outfit has held a huge number of rounds of negotiations with the Central government in Delhi ever since it signed a ceasefire pact in August 1997. The Central government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had signed a “framework agreement” with the NSCN-IM in 2015.

Even though most of the demands made by Nagas have been resolved during the talks wth the centre, some outstanding differences yet remain, especially Nagas demand over a separate flag and a separate constitution. The government of India has categorically rejected the demands of separation flag and constitution.

Uttar Pradesh: Minor Dalit girl dragged away and gang-raped by four youths, Rehan, Tasleem, Danish and Abdul arrested

0

A 13-year-old Dalit girl, who was working in the fields with her grandmother was allegedly dragged away and gang-raped on Saturday by four men in Garhmukteshwar tehsil, Hapur district, Uttar Pradesh.

According to the reports, four youths – Rehan, Tasleem, Danish and Abdul, the residents of the neighbouring village, brutally gang-raped the Dalit minor girl near the farm and fled the scene. The girl repeatedly shouted to save herself from these rapists, however, her efforts went in vain. The brother of the girl heard her screaming and managed to chase the accused to their village.

As per reports, the victim was found unconscious and was brought home. In medical examination, rape and sexual assault were confirmed.

The family lodged a complaint against the four accused. Based on a complaint of the father of the rape survivor, an FIR under IPC section 376-D (gang-rape), and under sections of SC/ST and POCSO Act was registered against the four accused. The girl belonged to a Scheduled Caste (SC) community and protection has been giving to the family. The survivor’s medical report has also confirmed rape.

Tense situation in the area due to communal angle

The police have arrested all the four accused and sent them to jail. As the accused belonged to the minority community, there was a tense situation in the area.

Senior officials like ADM and SSP visited the victim family on Sunday night and assured speedy justice. SSP Sarvesh Kumar Mishra said that the accused have also confessed to their crime. A delegation led by Garhmukteshwar BJP MLA Kamal Malik also met the family of the rape survivor after the incident and assured swift action in the case.

“A charge-sheet will be filed very soon, and the victim will get justice. Her family will also get financial and other assistance as per government provisions,” he added.

How Pakistanis are using current Punjab farmer protests to fuel pro-Khalistan sentiments

While Khalistani elements have infiltrated the Punjab farmer protest against free market, our neighbouring country Pakistan seems to have even more nefarious agenda. One Dalip Singh has created a Twitter account in December 2020 and has already garnered 1168 followers while tweeting ‘pro-farmer’ tweets.

Dalip Singh’s profile

Now, this “Dalip Singh” tweets ‘pro-farmer’ and ‘anti-Modi’ things while thanking Pakistan for standing with Khalistan movement.

‘Dalip Singh’ thanks Pakistan for supporting Khalistan

He even shared videos wherein he wanted Pakistanis to learn the ‘reality’ about surgical strikes.

‘Dalip Singh’ sharing ‘reality’ of surgical strikes

The above video, which has garnered over 100 retweets, claims that the surgical strikes were fake and that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is a nice person.

In September 2016, Indian Armed forces carried out surgical strike against the Pakistani terrorists in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir, destroying their launchpads.

He also shared ‘map of Khalistan’ which is ‘coming soon’.

‘Dalip Singh’s Khalistan map

Which is quite amusing as this is the exact same map Pakistanis have been sharing on social media while describing their wet dream of breaking India.

‘Dalip Singh’ speaks language of Pakistanis

‘Dalip Singh’ has also found support from other such ‘farmers’ who created account in December 2020 too.

‘Khalistan State’ stands with farmers

Throwing all subtlety of psych ops into the wind, this ‘farmer supporter’ dreams of a Khalistan embassy in Pakistan (of all place).

Of course, this gets support from Pakistanis, too, who are ‘standing’ with Punjab farmers and calling out ‘Godi media’.

Sheikh Amir is a Punjabi who wants Khalistan

‘Sheikh Amir’ dreams of ‘beautiful’ Pakistan on odd days, becomes ‘Godi media hating, Khalistan demanding, Punjabi farmer’ on even days.

Sheikh Amir’s bio

Now, here’s the catch. Remember our friend ‘Dalip Singh’ from above? Well, here is the reality about the image he has used.

Truth about ‘Dalip Singh’

In April 2020, Sikh businessman Lakhwant Singh faced hate crime in Denver, Colorado where he was asked to ‘go back to his country’. He was hospitalised for months following the attack.

So our friends from neighbouring country stole Lakhwant Singh’s image and became Dalip Singh and started tweeting anti-India and pro-Khalistan propaganda.

What is even more shocking is that he has been getting constant support. The number of retweets and likes he is getting shows how his reach is.

Pakistan indulging in psych ops to divide India and spread its nefarious agenda is nothing new. Earlier, China, too, was seen indulging in psychological warfare during the Ladakh standoff at Galwan Valley earlier this year.

Babri Action Committee’s Zafaryab Jilani says Dhannipur mosque is against Shariat, claims mosque cannot be built on ‘bartered land’

Zafaryab Jilani, convenor of Babri Masjid Action Committee (BMAC) and All India Muslim Personal Law Board executive member, has called the proposed mosque to be built at the government allotted land in Dhanniur of Ayodhya as “against Shariat”. The Mosque Trust had recently released the blueprint of the proposed mosque.

Jilani talked to Times of India, where he said that as per the Waqf Act, mosques and land for the mosques could not be bartered, making the proposed mosque against the Act. Also, as the Waqf board is based on Shariat, the mosque is against the Sharia Law, claimed Jilani.

Yogi Adityanath-led Government of Uttar Pradesh allotted the 5-acre land of the proposed mosque in August at Dhannipur Village. It is approx 25 KM away from Ram Janmabhoomi. The land was allotted as per the November 9, 2019 order of the Supreme Court of India where the Ram Janmabhoomi site was given to the Hindus to build a Ram Temple and the state government was asked to allot 5 acres of land for the Muslims to build a mosque.

The issue was raised in the AIMPLB October meeting

On October 13, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board’s executive committee held a meeting where Asaduddin Owaisi had raised the issue. All the members present at the meeting had reportedly shared the same view that the mosque on alternate land will be against the Waqf Act. SQR Ilyas, executive member, AIMPLB, said, “We have already rejected the proposal to accept land for the mosque at any other place. As we lost the title suit we don’t need any land for a mosque.”

Ilyas alleged that the Sunni Central Waqf Board is working under the pressure of the government. “The Muslims have rejected the land at Dhannipur in Ayodhya. The mosque trust constituted by the Sunni Central Waqf Board is only symbolically making the masjid there,” he added.

Jilani deemed alternate land against Sharia in November ’19

This is not the first time Zafaryab Jilani has spoken against the mosque on an alternate land. In November 2019, after SC’s judgment, Jilani had said that the judgment is not final. He said, “Others do not need to give their opinion on the matter. The proposal to replace five acres of land for the mosque is against the Sharia… Islamic Sharia does not allow this. The Waqf Act also says the same. The Supreme Court cannot change the mosque land. According to Article 142, it cannot go against any institution.”

Supreme Court had rejected all review petitions in December ’19

In December 2019, the Supreme Court of India had rejected all 18 review petitions. The Supreme Court, which conducted an in-chamber hearing of a bunch of review petitions filed against the Ayodhya ruling, rejected them after finding no merits.

“Mosques are places for offering namaz, it cannot be deemed wrong” – Ayodhya Mosque Trust

Athar Hussain, secretary, Ayodhya Mosque Trust, was not in sync with the views that the land is against Sharia or Waqf Act. He said that as Supreme Court had mandated the land, it cannot be deemed as illegal. “Different people use to define the Shariat in their own ways. Mosques are places for offering namaz. What is wrong if we are building a mosque,” he added.

Nude images of Thailand King’s royal mistress leaked online, rivalry with Queen suspected: Read details

Hundreds of nude photos depicting the official mistress of Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn have been leaked to anti-monarchy activists in an attempt to “sabotage” the Royal consort.

According to the reports, some 1,400 images of Thailand king’s royal consort – Sineenat Wongvajirapakdi, many of them sexually explicit, have been leaked earlier this year to prominent critics of the Thai monarchy living abroad.

The leak of the “very explicit” photos of Sineenat Wongvajirapakdi, who is fondly known as ‘Koi’, is said to be an extension of the bitter rivalry between the King’s younger mistress and his wife.

The alleged leak of the personal images of Koi, some of which are naked or semi-naked, comes just months after she rejoined the royal harem after being dramatically expelled and imprisoned last year. Thai king Maha Vajiralongkorn appointed Sineenat Wongvajirapakdi as his official mistress in 2019. However, had stripped off her titles after a few months due to allegations of conspiracy. Later this year, she was pardoned and her titles were restored.

Sineenat, who is trained as a pilot in Thailand and abroad, had served in the King’s royal bodyguard unit. She held the rank of Major General in Thailand King’s Guard.

Phots taken by Sineenat herself, leaked to British journo

Reportedly, these explicit images were taken by Sineenat herself. Years later, it reached to British journalist Andrew MacGregor Marshall, who has written critical articles about the Thai monarchy. The photos were delivered with a fake return address and a letter claiming they had been obtained by “pro-democracy Thai hackers”.

According to the journalist, these photographs are clearly captured from Koi’s personal phones. “Most of the images are photographs she took of herself, and dozens of them are very explicit. It seems probable that she had taken these explicit photographs of herself to send to Vajiralongkorn,” Marshall wrote in a Facebook post.

The 1,443 snaps are believed to have been taken between 2012 and 2014. The photographs include revealing shots of Koi in topless and sometimes in revealing nightwear. The pictures were also sent to Thai academic Pavin Chachavalpongpun, a critic of the monarchy who is facing criminal prosecution in Thailand and currently lives in Japan.

The royal rivalry between the Queen and King’s mistress?

According to critics of Thailand monarchy, the anonymous leak of the naked images is an attempt to undermine defame the Thai king’s mistress Sineenat Wongvajirapakdi. The return of Koi to the palace was bitterly opposed by King’s wife Queen Suthida and Princess Bajrakitiyabha. It is being said that the images of Koi were leaked in an effort to sabotage her return as Vajiralongkorn’s consort.

The 67-year-old Thai king had named Sineenat as his royal consort in an elaborate ceremony in 2019. It was done just three months after he married Queen Suthida, his fourth wife. Queen Suthida was a cabin crew member in the Thai Airlines earlier. The king, who took the throne in 2019, had divorced his first three wives.

It is notable here that Thai king is facing severe criticism back home after it was revealed that he had isolated himself with his entire harem of 20 concubines in a German luxury hotel during the coronavirus outbreak.

British regulator fines Republic TV for telecasting a debate exposing Pakistan-sponsored terrorism

British broadcasting regulator Ofcom has imposed a fine of Rs. 19.7 lakhs on Worldwide Media Network Limited, which operates Republic Bharat in the UK, for allegedly making ‘hate-speech’ against Pakistan.

The Office of Communications or OfCom has imposed a £20,000 fine for a debate on the channel after it found the channel allegedly failed to comply with broadcasting rules.

The OfCom found a Republic Bharat show – “Poochta Hai Bharat” that was telecast on September 6, 2019, 14:26 pm to have allegedly contained “uncontextualised hate speech” and inciteful language against people from Pakistan that breached the Rules 2.3, 3.2 and 3.3 of the Code.

As per the Rule 2.3 of the OfCom Broadcasting Code, broadcasters must ensure that material which may cause offence is justified by the context and it may “include, but is not limited to […] offensive language, […] discriminatory treatment or language (for example on the grounds of […] religion or belief […]”.

Similarly, Rule 3.2 states that “Material which contains hate speech must not be included in television… except where it is justified by the context,” while Rule 3.3 says that “Material which contains abusive or derogatory treatment of individuals, groups, religions or communities, must not be included in television… except where it is justified by the context…”.

The order claimed that the Republic Bharat show contained statements which amounted to hate speech against, and was abusive and derogatory about, Pakistani people on the basis of their nationality.

“These statements would potentially be harmful and highly offensive to any person who did not share the sentiment being expressed by the presenter and his Indian guests. In Ofcom’s view, the potentially harmful and offensive nature of the content was compounded by the political context in which the episode of Poochta Hai Bharat was broadcast.”

World Media network defends its show, says it exposed Pakistan-sponsored terror

Meanwhile, following the order, Worldview media network has defended their show saying that the programme was based on “a legitimate story covering Pakistan’s involvement in terror activities backed by recent events and statements from leading Pakistani public figures at a time when India was working to become a Space power”.

In the show, according to the broadcaster, they were trying “to showcase how India has moved forward, while Pakistan in the same period has failed to develop at the same pace and how terror groups had been allowed to operate in [Pakistan]”. Worldview Media also asserted that the programme “did not promote terrorism or hatred and it certainly did not promote or justify hatred in any way”.

The broadcaster also clarified that the word “Paki” used during the programme was not intended as an insult but as a casual reference to the nationality of Pakistan’. It cited examples of the common use of the word “Paki” that had been reclaimed by Pakistani people.

“It is a disgrace”: Donald Trump refuses to sign Covid relief bill which promises millions of dollars to Pakistan and other countries

US President Donald Trump, in his last few days in Office, has refused to sign the Covid relief bill which promises millions of dollars to countries like Pakistan, Egypt and Cambodia.

Attacking the democrats, Trump said how throughout the summer, they ‘cruelly’ blocked the Covid relief legislation in a bid to advance their extreme left-wing agenda. “The Bill they are now planning to send back to my desk is much different than anticipated. It really is a disgrace,” he said.

He mocked the US Congress and said that no one must have read the 5,000+ pages of the Bill because of its length and complexity. “It is called the Covid relief bill but has almost nothing to do with Covid. This Bill contains 85.5 million dollars for assistance to Cambodia, 134 million dollars to Burma, 1.3 billion dollars for Egypt and the Egyptian military which will go out and buy almost exclusively Russian military equipment,” he said.

“25 million dollars for democracy and gender programmes in Pakistan,” Trump said and listed out other relief packages for other countries. He also pointed out how the relief packages contain money allocated to various facilities like the Kennedy Center in Washington DC and others which are currently not operational. He questioned why the Kennedy Center in Washington DC was set to receive 40 million USD when it is not open, and over 1 billion USD has been allocated to museums and galleries in the capital.

Trump further said how the US Congress managed to find money to allocate to various foreign countries, lobbyists and people with special interest but bare minimum for the Americans. “It wasn’t their fault, it was China’s fault,” he said.

Trump said that he has asked Congress to revise the relief being given to Americans. “I am asking Congress to amend this bill and increase the ridiculously low $600 to $2,000 or $4,000 for a couple. I’m also asking Congress to immediately get rid of the wasteful and unnecessary items from this legislation and to send me a suitable bill, or else the next administration will have to deliver a Covid relief package,” he said.

If US President Donald Trump vetoes the legislation the US government could shut down on 29 December as the package was attached to a 1.4 trillion USD spending bill to fund federal agencies for the next nine months.

Soon after Trump’s message, his supporters tweeted in agreement to his stand on the Bill.

Even those who did not support him agreed with some of his points.

The $2.3 trillion spending bill in the United States combines a $900 billion in Covid relief measures with a $1.4 trillion omnibus spending bill for the 2021 federal fiscal year.

Kerala Governor refuses permission for special session of Assembly to pass resolution against farm laws, opposition cries ‘BJP agent’: Details

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan today refused to grant approval for a special session of the Kerala Assembly scheduled for tomorrow. According to reports, the special session was intended to discuss the three farm laws passed by the central government and to pass a resolution against the laws. The special session was reportedly proposed by the CPI(M)-led LDF government at a Cabinet meeting presided by the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan yesterday. Now, after the Governor’s refusal the session will not be held tomorrow.

The Governor’s decision caused a political furore, with the state government criticising the decision calling it unfortunate. The BJP, on the other hand, welcomed the Governor’s decision saying that it was unconstitutional to pass a resolution against the three farm laws that have been passed by the Parliament and have received the assent of the President.

Making a jibe at the Governor, Congress Deputy leader in the house KC Joseph said that he was acting like a BJP agent. “Hs is acting like an agent of the BJP. His decision is not acceptable. It is the prerogative of the house to decide whether an issue is urgent or not”, said Joseph.

The Kerala CM’s office had reportedly said that the proposed session was intended to deliberate on the farm laws which are being opposed by some ‘farmers’. However, the state Finance Minister posted a tweet yesterday expressing solidarity with the protesting ‘farmers’.

Isaac said that the special session was meant to “reject the controversial farm laws”. The Governor had sought a clarification from the government on the urgency to convene the special session to which the government had submitted a reply. A regular session of the Assembly is reportedly planned to commence on January 8 and is likely to end on January 28. The Kerala government had convened a similar session earlier in which a resolution was passed demanding the repeal of the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Some ‘farmers’ have been holding ‘protests‘ against the three farm laws that were enacted by the central government for the purpose of introducing some major reforms in the agriculture sector.

Grooming Jihad: Saeed forces woman into changing her religion and marry him, rapes her at gunpoint

0

Another case of grooming jihad has been reported in Uttar Pradesh. As per reports, Uttar Pradesh police has arrested Mohammad Saeed on December 19 in Shahjahanpur district under the new anti-conversion law. Saeed was allegedly blackmailing a 45-year-old woman into changing her religion and forcibly married her.

The police said that Saeed posed as Sunil Kumar and concealed his real identity when he first met the woman on the pretext of renting a room in her house. He took her number and started talking to her regularly. Time passed by, and an affair started between them. He promised her marriage and started sexually exploiting her. He clicked several nude photographs of her during that period, which he used later to blackmail her.

Saeed pressurized her to convert

Superintendent of Police (City) Sanjay Kumar said that on December 10, Saeed pressurized her to change religion and marry him, to which she refused. Then he forcefully got her signatures on a “nikahnama” (marriage contract).

VHP helped the woman to file a complaint

Rajesh Awasthi of Vishwa Hindu Parishad came forward to help her. He took her to the police station and complained against 12 people, including the qazi who solemnised the marriage. A case was registered against Saeed under the Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Ordinance. SP Kumar said that it is the first case registered under the anti-conversion law in the district.

Saeed raped her on gun-point

SP Kumar said that the accused raped the woman at gun-point and clicked her photos. “He also threatened to make the photos viral on social media. Later, Saeed’s family members also came here and started staying.” Police sent the woman for medical examination after registering the case. Saeed is currently absconding, and police are making efforts to arrest him.

Could Arjun Rampal be arrested? Here is what happens if allegations against him are proven true under NDPS Act

In the ongoing Bollywood drug probe that started with the unfortunate and unexplained death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput earlier this year, several bigwigs of the Hindi film industry have been interrogated by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) including actors like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, and Shraddha Kapoor with the latest addition of Arjun Rampal to the list.

In a raid conducted by the NCB at Rampal’s residence last month, the anti-drug agency had found clonazepam which is listed as a psychotropic substance under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985. This came after the NCB arrested the brother of Rampal’s girlfriend for allegedly being in touch with drug peddlers related to the Sushant Singh Rajput case.

During interrogation, Arjun Rampal had said that clonazepam found at his residence was prescribed to him by a doctor. He had also submitted a prescription before the central agency which the agency found to be backdated.

The NCB contacted Dr. Rohit Garg, a Delhi-based senior psychiatrist who had written the backdated prescription for Rampal. The agency got Dr. Garg’s statement recorded under section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code wherein he confessed to writing the backdated prescription. He said that he wrote the prescription in good faith since Rampal had approached him through a family friend. He added that he was not aware of the NCB probe against the actor.

What is the NDPS Act?

The NDPS Act was passed in the year 1985 to consolidate and amend the law relating to narcotics drugs and to implement the provisions of the international conventions of narcotic drugs and psychotropics substances to which India is a signatory. The NDPS Act is the primary law in the country to deal with consumption as well as trafficking of drugs in India. The Act lists various psychotropic substances that are prohibited under it.

The Central government is empowered to add or remove psychotropic substances to this list. For instance, in 2015, the central government classified mephedrone (aka meth or meow meow) as a psychotropic substance after it became highly popular among the youth and experts warned about serious health effects of the drug on health. The Act confers various powers on both the central and the state governments to control and regulate the use of narcotic and psychotropic substances.

Under section 8 (c) of the Act, the production, manufacturing, possession, sale, purchase, transport, warehousing, use, consumption, inter-State import, inter-State export, import into India, export of India or transhipment of narcotic drug or psychotropic substance by an any person are ‘prohibited operations’. In 1989 the central government amended the NDPS Act to make provision for the establishment of sepcialised courts to deal with offences laid down in the Act. The NCB investigates the cases under the NDPS Act and files cases in the court.

Punishment Arjun Rampal could face under the NDPS Act

The NDPS Act prescribes punishment for offences relating to psychotropic substances depending on the quantity of the substance found. The punishment can be divided into three categories with respect to three categories of quantities provided under the Act. The three categories of quantities laid down under the Act and the corresponding punishment are:

  • Small (rigorous imprisonment up to 1 year or fine up to Rs 10,000 or both)
  • Less than Commercial (rigorous imprisonment up to 10 years and fine up to 1 lakh)
  • Commercial (rigorous imprisonment between 10-20 years and fine between Rs 1-2 lakh, the court can extend fine beyond Rs 2 lakh after giving reasons in judgment)

Thus depending upon the quantity of psychotropic substance found, a person can be punished under section 22 of the Act if he/she, in contravention of the provisions of the Act, manufactures, possesses, sells, purchases, transports, imports inter-state, exports inter-state or uses any psychotropic substances.

In case of Arjun Rampal, the NCB reportedly found him in possession of clonazepam which is a prohibited psychotropic substance under the Act. If he is booked under the Act and is subsequently found to have committed any of the abovementioned offences under the Act, he may face rigorous imprisonment and/or fine depending on the quantity of the substance found.
