Jammu and Kashmir assembly observes ‘Black Day’, the anniversary of Pakistan’s brutal attack on the region

0

On Thursday, the legislative assembly of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir observed the ‘Black Day’ in remembrance of Pakistan’s invasion in the Indian territory of Jammu and Kashmir on October 22, 1947.

During the event, the members of the legislative assembly stood in silence while the national anthem played in the background. The day was observed as a mark of protest against State-sponsored atrocities of Pakistan on the Kashmiris with the help of Pashtun tribal militia.

Journalist Aditya Raj Kaul tweeted, “This morning National Anthem in #Kashmir at the beginning of the event to mark 22nd October Black Day. This day in 1947 Pakistan attacked Kashmiris using Tribals to invade and loot Kashmiri locals. Later the Pakistani goons were sent packing by Indian Army.”

Pakistan’s ‘Operation Gulmarg’ against the people of Jammu and Kashmir

Soon after the independence, the Pakistani Army prepared a plan called ‘Operation Gulmarg‘ and put it into action. According to the plan, 20 Lashkars (tribal militias), each consisting of 1000 Pashtun tribals, were to recruited from various Pashtun tribes, and armed at the brigade headquarters at Bannu, Wanna, Peshawar, Kohat, Thall and Nowshera by the first week of September.

Simultaneously, Maj. Gen. Akbar Khan, who was entrusted with the operation, devised a plan to make the Kashmir rebellion appear like a revolt waged by the people of Jammu and Kashmir against their non-Muslim rulers. The aim here was to take the cover of civilian unrest for the impending military action. The invading tribal groups had no regard for anyone. They ran riot, leaving chaos, destruction and killings in their wake. They even raped nuns, who were performing their duties at St. Joseph Hospital and schools in Baramulla.

As Pashtun tribesmen and Pakistani regular army soldiers were busy looting Kashmiris in Baramulla, defiling their women and vandalising the properties, Maharaja Hari Singh sought an intervention from India to stop the devastation, which was contingent upon his signing of Instrument of Accession.

Last presidential debate: Biden wants to ‘transition’ from oil and gas, Trump hits him hard with jobs and business loss

0

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on Thursday said he would aim to end the oil industry by transitioning completely to renewable energy.

In the final debate ahead of the US presidential election scheduled to be held on November 3, President Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Joe Biden discussed a host of issues including climate change.

During the debate, the host asked Biden whether his actions and regulations to limit climate change would hurt job creation in America. As Biden responded, President Donald Trump asked him whether he would “close down the oil industry”.

“I would transition from the oil industry, yes,” Biden said, adding that “the oil industry pollutes and has to be replaced by renewable energy over time”.

The Democratic Presidential nominee also added that he would end subsidies for the oil and gas industry.

Responding to Biden’s call to bring an end to the oil industry, President Trump called it “the biggest statement in terms of business” of the debate.

Trump blasted Biden’s statement, saying he had essentially vowed to “destroy” the oil industry.

“That’s maybe the biggest statement in terms of business. What he is saying is he is going to destroy the oil industry,” Trump said.

“Will you remember that, Texas? Will you remember that Pennsylvania? Oklahoma? Ohio?” he added. The Trump camp has stated that Biden’s policies aim to destroy jobs and kill businesses. “Most shockingly, Joe Biden pledged to end the oil industry, which would kill millions of jobs and cripple our economy. And you could see visibly that Joe Biden realized he had made a grave error in what he said” spokesperson Tim Murtaugh said.

The Nashville debate was the last of three debates scheduled ahead of the US elections on November 3. The first debate took place on September 29 at Ohio, followed by another Presidential debate on October 15. The Vice Presidential debate between Vice President Mike Pence and Senator Kamala Harris was also held on October 7.

Canada condemns China’s treatment of Uyghur Muslims and other ethnic minorities. Read details

In another embarrassment for China, a sub-committee of Canada’s House of Commons condemned the atrocities of the Chinese regime against the Uyghurs and other ethnic Turkic Muslims in the Xinjiang province.

As per a news release published on Wednesday, the Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development heard testimonies of academics, civil society and victims of Chinese atrocities for 12-long hours and over 2 days. Based on the testimonies, the sub-committee pointed out the various strategies, such as forced labour, mass detention, population control, state surveillance etc, employed by the Chinese regime to persecute and ‘eradicate’ the culture of Uyghur Muslims.

The sub-committee labelled the Chinese atrocities as equivalent to ‘genocide’, as stated under Article II of the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (Genocide Convention). It stated, “If the international community does not condemn the human rights abuses in Xinjiang province by the Government of China, a precedent will be set, and these methods will be adopted by other regimes.” The sub-committee of Canada’s House of Commons made it clear that it was condemning the actions of the Chinese government and not the Chinese people.

Detention of Uyghurs is largest since the Holocaust, claims report

The sub-committee stated that China has detained over 2 million Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims in ‘concentration camps’, making it the largest mass detention of minorities since the Holocaust. The situation is grim as the detainees have no access to legal aid, often resulting in an indefinite period of detention and complete isolation from the outside world. “Witnesses stated that punishment for breaking rules can be swift and violent and that women and girls are regularly subjected to sexual abuse and other forms of gender-based violence,” it stated.

Chinese regime hellbent on erasing Uyghur culture, language and traditions

The sub-committee reiterated that Uyghurs, who are detained by the Chinese government, are restricted from practising their religion or speaking their mother tongue. In a bid to erase their cultural identity, which China calls as ‘cultural assimilation’, the Uyghurs are coerced into speaking Mandarin Chinese. Reportedly, they are also forced to praise the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Chinese Premier Xi Jinping. While speaking on the despicable treatment of Uyghurs, a concentration camp survivor alleged that DNA samples are collected illegally for organ harvesting and eventual trafficking.

Uyghurs are coerced into forced labour

The sub-committee has urged the Canadian government to work with its allies internationally to condemn China’s actions and specifically create a ‘special envoy’ to ensure the safe return of one Canadian citizen of Uyghur origin, Huseyin Celil. As per reports, he has been illegally detained by the Chinese regime since 2006. The sub-committee further added that Uyghur Muslim detainees are coerced into working for the supply chains of large corporations and producing products for Canada and other western nations. It has urged the Canadian government to investigate ‘problematic sources’ of such consumer goods, prevent forced labour and review its procurement practices.

China has turned Xinjiang into a police state

As per the testimonies heard by the sub-committee, the Xinjiang province has been turned into a police State. “Witnesses explained that mobile phone activity is intensely monitored and security technologies, such as closed-circuit televisions, artificial intelligence, facial recognition and biometric data, are deployed to track every movement and communication,” the report emphasised. And such a mass surveillance is facilitated through technologies that are developed in China. The sub-committee has called upon the Canadian government to review their investment practices in such tech companies so as to not indirectly facilitate persecution of Uyghurs.

Uyghur population growth declined by 84%, claims report

Since China brutally cracks down against independent Uyghur activists, the subcommittee urged the Canadian government to expedite existing programs and provide permanent refuge to the human rights defenders. It also noted that China is deliberately reducing the birth rate of the Uyghurs in the Xinjiang province through the imposition of Intrauterine Devices (IUDs), forced sterilisation, abortion and coerced administration of injections that result in loss of menstrual period. As a result, population growth in the region fell by over 84%.

China views Uyghurs as a threat to its economic prosperity

China views Uyghur and other ethnic Turkic minorities as a threat since many demand autonomy or independence from the repressive State. It is pertinent to point out that the province of Xinjiang is rich with important oil deposits and part of China’s One Belt-One Road initiative. As such, the Chinese government views Uyghurs as a threat to the country’s ‘economic development’. The report reiterated, “Considering this evidence, the Subcommittee notes that the Government of Canada is not only responsible for punishing the crime of genocide, but for preventing one from occurring as well.”

China admits to the persecution of Uyghurs

Earllier, in a whitepaper published by the State Council Information Office, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has insinuated that the Uyghur Muslims are responsible for what China is doing to them. In a startling claim, China has revealed that it has placed over 1.29 million people in re-education camps between 2014 and 2019 in the Uyghur-dominated province of Xinjiang.

The whitepaper claimed that Uyghur Muslims were ‘terrorists’ who believed in the ‘afterlife’ and rejected modern science owing to religious dogmatism. Reiterating that such outdated ideas led to poor educational opportunities and employability, they needed to undergo ‘vocational training’ for being able to be a part of the mainstream. “Every year from 2014 to 2019 Xinjiang provided training sessions to an average of 1.29 million urban and rural workers, of which 451,400 were in southern Xinjiang,” the report emphasised.

Argentinian artist accuses Disha Patani of passing off his artwork as her brother’s: Read details

Bollywood actress Disha Patani faced an embarrassing moment on Thursday after she was caught passing off an artwork made by another artist as her brother’s work.

Taking to Instagram, Disha Patani shared a sketch to claim that it was created by her younger brother, Suryansh Patani. The Bollywood actress had posted a sketch of a character named ‘Nero aka Secre Swallowtail’ from the Japanese anime show ‘Black Clover’.

As the Bollywood actress put out the alleged artwork of her brother, an artist from Argentina, who goes by the name – ‘Inhoso’, shared a story on his Instagram account expressing shock over actress’s post. The anime artist also took to Instagram to put out the original sketch of the anime written by him, that matched the sketch passed-off by Disha Patani as her brother’s artwork.

In the image shared by Inhoso, one can see Disha Patani’s original Instagram post in which she put out Inhoso original artwork and claimed it as her brother’s creation. “#sketchbysuri my little bro’s art,” wrote Disha Patani without crediting ‘Inhoso’ in her post.

In fact, the anime artwork shared by Disha Patani claiming to be her brother’s artwork was first shared by Argentinian artist ‘Inhoso’ in July this year.

As social media users pointed out how Disha Patani had indulged in stealing someone else’s art, the actress was quick to realise her mistake. She posted another caption on her Instagram post, this time crediting the original artist.

After getting caught, Patani posted the same image with another caption reading, “my little bro’s art inspired by inhoso”. However, the actress still maintained that the artwork was created by her brother while adding that his work was inspired by Inhoso.

The anime character ‘Nero or Secre Swallowtail’ is one of the most-loved characters from the Japanese show Black Clover. The show surrounds around the life of a character named ‘Asta’, who is on a quest to become the next Wizard King. The series has been written and illustrated by Japanese comic book artist Yuki Tabata.

Raza Academy threatens to move court against Maharashtra govt if Eid-e-Milad procession is not allowed

0

Raza Academy has threatened to move court against Maharashtra government if the state government does not give permission to carry out the Eid-e-Milad procession.

The Raza Academy on Friday claimed that not allowing the procession for the Eid is tantamount to ignoring the sentiments of Muslims. Because of the Chinese coronavirus pandemic, large gatherings including religious gatherings are prohibited to avoid spreading of virus. Eid-e-Milad is celebrated to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad and it falls on 29th October this year.

Violent Past of the Raza Academy

The Raza Academy has a violent past. Earlier this year, Raza Academy had threatened with ‘law and order situation’ if the movie ‘Muhammad: The Messenger of God’ was not banned. The movie depicts the life of the prophet from birth till the age of 13.

In August 2011, its leaders had organised a so-called protest in Azad Maidan that had devolved into violent riots. The rioters from Raza Academy had vandalised the much-hallowed Amar Jawan memorial situated outside the CST. The riots had caused approximately Rs 2.72 crores worth of damages to various public properties.

The protest was carried out to incite communal violence in Mumbai and the IB report to Maharashtra government hinted at Pakistani involvement in the riots. Bangladeshi passports were retrieved from the areas where riots took place. About 65 people and 40 security personnel were injured in the riots.

US Senate Committee on Judiciary approves subpoenas for Jack Dorsey and Mark Zuckerberg asking them to testify over allegations of censorship

Senate Committee on the Judiciary of the United States senate has approved subpoenas against Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg regarding the censorship of anti-Biden stories on both the social media networks. Both of them will have to testify before the senate committee regarding the allegations of bias in their platforms.

The Republicans in the committee voted to approved the subpoenas in a 12-0 vote after both Facebook and Twitter censored a New York Post report alleging that Democrat Presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden had introduced his father to a top official at a Ukrainian company. Biden was the vice president at that time.

In the report dated 14th October, the New York Post alleged that they have accessed material from a damaged Macbook that was brought to a service center for repair. The customer who brought the laptop never collected the laptop or paid for the services. The shop owner said he repeatedly tried to contact the client. Though he could not identify the owner as Hunter Biden, he said the laptop had Beau Biden Foundation’s sticker on it. The report had several documents and mention of a video that proves that Joe Biden met a businessman from Ukraine when he was Vice President of the United States.

NY Post had also published an accompanying article on the same date, which alleged that Hunter Biden had used his father’s status to increase his pay at Ukrainian energy company Burisma. This report was also censored by the social media giants.

Soon after the reports were published, both Facebook and Twitter moved swiftly to prevent its spread. Facebook decided to limit their distribution and added a notice that the report was subject to fact-checked by third party fact-checkers. Users could still share the reports on Facebook, but it could not be boosted using algorithm.

Twitter, on the hand, took a more drastic step and banned the reports from sharing on the platform altogether, and suspended the account of NY Post after the publication of the first report. They also suspended any user that tried to share the articles, inviting criticism of censorship.

Twelve Republicans in the Senate Committee on the Judiciary voted in favour of the subpoenas, while the outnumbered ten Democrats boycotted the voting, in protest against the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court by the committee.

The committee has voted to compel Jack Dorsey and Mark Zuckerberg to testify on the allegation of suppression and censorship of the two reports published by New York Post. The motion for a subpoena also asks the CEOs to testify about “any other content moderation policies, practices, or actions that may interfere with or influence elections for federal office” as well as other recent decisions to reduce distribution or block posts from their services.

Committee member senator Ted Cruz said that the censorship of the articles by Twitter and Facebook are election interface. “Never before have we seen active censorship of a major press publication with serious allegations of corruption of one of the two candidates for president,” he said.

Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey, and Google CEO Sundar Pichai are already scheduled to testify before the Senate Commerce Committee on October 28th on allegations of bias on their platforms.

Complaints filed against Eros Now and Arré for vulgar social media posts related to Navratri

After receiving a lot of flak on social media for posting offensive anti-Hindu content online, Eros Now has now been slapped with a cyber complaint filed by Suresh Nakhua, spokesperson of BJP Mumbai. Nakhua shared a copy of the cyber complaint on Twitter.

Tagging Krishika Lulla, Director/Producer at Eros International and Eros Now in a previous tweet Nakhua had accused them of hurting the sentiments of Hindus. He had said that he would take the OTT platform owned by Eros International Media Ltd. to the court for the vulgar content posted by them. Later, he tweeted the copy of the cyber complaint filed by him against Krishika Lulla and Eros Now. He also said that he would lodge a physical complaint soon.

Erow Now deleted the posts and apologised

Eros Now had deleted the offensive posts on Navratri and had tendered apology earlier in the day after the hashtag #BoycottErosNow started trending on Twitter. The posts now deleted by Eros Now had vulgar content and images of scantily dressed actresses, where they had associated Navaratri with sex. The posts had highly objectionable text such as  “Do you want to put the ratri in my Navratri”,  “Let’s have majama in my Pyjama”, “You need a dandi to play dandiya – I have one.” etc.

The digital platform had first attempted to hide critical comments on their posts but people started sharing the posts on social media calling out Eros Now for disrespecting Hindu festivals.

Complaint filed against far-left portal Arré

Eros was not the only one that chose to offend during the festival time. Arré, a far-left website, which often spews venom against Hindus and its culture, also descended to another low by posting a similar sexual innuendo against Hindus, targeting their cultures and festivals. As a result, a complaint has been filed against the portal and its officials by Mumbai based lawyer Chandni Shah.

On 17th October, Arré posted a tweet that said, “This year, #Navratri in Gujarat will not be the same. But even the pandemic might not be able to repress hormones that come roaring out once the mating dance begins.”

The tweet contained a link to an article published in the portal in 2017 titled “Navratri And The Mating Dance Of The Gujarati”, which had tried to claim that Navratri is nothing but a festival of sex. Both the tweet and the article have been taken down by Arré now after the outrage on social media.

Not just this, Arré also posted an image of Maa Durga holding severed heads. The severed heads of asuras symbolically depicted as, “Rapist, Assaulter, Molester, Predator” was put out by Arre to subtly insinuate that Hindus were essentially sexual predators.

Chhattisgarh police file FIR against video journalist who had reported on farmer protests based on an allegedly edited video

An FIR has been filed by Chhattisgarh police against a local video journalist named Manish Soni for reporting on the farmers whose paddy crops were destroyed in an anti-encroachment drive of the municipal corporation. The journalist was booked in Ambikapur district for allegedly using explicit and derogatory language on October 20 on the complaint of Ajay Tirki, Congress Mayor of Ambikapur.

Soni has denied all the allegations against him. He said that the action against him was taken with mala fide intention. Alleging that the police registered a case without primary investigation, Soni said that the video on the basis of which the FIR has been registered has been edited by some other people. “The police have not done any primary investigation and registered a case against me”, he said. According to the report, Soni said that his story about the anti-encroachment drive of the municipal corporation was covered by various channels and therefore the municipal corporation turned against him.

Manish Soni further said that the farmers affected by the drive have filed a written complaint against the employees of the municipal corporation. “Second, the affected farmers have also lodged a written complaint against the employees of Municipal Corporation in Gandhi Nagar police station, claiming that no notices were served before the anti-encroachment drive. Hence, some people were not happy with my news report and I believe that they have distorted my video and made a meme. On the basis of that distorted video, police have registered a case without any primary investigation”, he added.

Responding to Soni’s allegations, Mayor Tirki questioned why Soni did not file a complaint if his video was distorted. He said, “I was not aware that the video was edited or original. The video has abusive content and it was circulated everywhere on social media. If the video was edited, why did Soni not complain that his video was distorted and is being circulated?”

According to Inspector General of Police (IG) Ratanlal Dangi, Soni has been booked under section 294 of the Indian Penal Code and the relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act and an investigation is underway in the case. IG Dangi said that if Soni claimed that the video was not made by him and he could provide the original video to the police. “If he submits the original video which he made, we will investigate it forensically and the case will be taken back”, he said.

Soni was reportedly booked in another case last month for allegedly putting up an objectionable post regarding an encounter between security forces and Maoists.

Journalist dragged on street and beaten up

Last month, Kamal Shukla, editor of a regional newspaper called Bhoomkal Samachar, was dragged on the street by Congress goons, beaten up and attacked with a sharp weapon in Chhattisgarh. The incident happened around 100 km from the nearest police station. Shukla has been covering assault on a young journalist who had been filing RTIs on illegal sand miners.

Reducing Navratri to ‘mating dance’, comparing Holi with terrorism— how the Indian media has turned Hinduphobic

A massive backlash erupted on Thursday against web streaming service Eros Now as they posted memes on social media platforms that denigrated the revered Hindu festival of Navratri.

The streaming platform had sexualised the Hindu festivals by attaching vulgar texts to photos of Katrina Kaif that read, “Do you want to put the ratri in my Navratri”, an image of Ranveer Singh that depicted him lewdly saying, “Let’s have majama in my Pyjama”. Another damning post was the one in which Eros Now had put up a caption for a meme featuring Salman Khan, saying, “You need a dandi to play dandiya – I have one.”

Here are the few outrageous memes put out by Eros Now making sexual innuendos at Hindus and its festivals.

The vulgar posts on Navratri tweeted by Eros Now

As these derogatory posts spread like a wildfire on the internet, netizens took offence to the blatant act of slandering Hindu festivals and called for the boycott of the streaming platform.

As usual, the streaming platform fearing against the economic boycott issued a statement on Thursday morning claiming that it has now deleted the posts and also issued a so-called apology for “having offended anybody’s sentiments”. However, by the time Eros Now expressed their ‘remorse’ for the deplorable act, the damage was already done.

Arre – a far-left website joins Eros Now in sexualising Hindu festivals

Arre, a far-left website, which often spews venom against Hindus and its culture, also descended to another low by posting a similar sexual innuendo against Hindus, targeting their cultures and festivals.

Amidst the outrage against Eros Now, Arre, in an act of provoking Hindus, posted an image of Maa Durga holding severed heads. The severed heads of asuras symbolically depicted as, “Rapist, Assaulter, Molester, Predator” was put out by Arre to subtly insinuate that Hindus were essentially sexual predators.

“It’s time to bali the bully,” read the infographic shared by Arre, apparently ‘wishing’ Hindus on the occasion of Dussehra.

The selectivity in accusing Hindus alone of being sexual predators, rapists, as done by Arre in this case, is not a one-off incident.

In 2017, Arre, taking its creative liberty to next level, had called ‘Navratri’ as a ‘mating’ ritual. “For those nine nights, all the bundled-up, repressed hormones of the year would come roaring out and the mating dance would commence,” wrote Arre in one of its report explaining how dandiya – the Gujarati socio-religious folk dance performed during Navratri.

According to the author, the Garba events in Gujarat are nothing but a ‘mating’ event, where Hindu daughters in the name of “cultural exposure” enjoyed sex in parked cars after the dancing events.

“After the nine nights, hormones would take cultural cognizance of the land in which they lived, and chastity would return…The Navratri nights, lit up with fairy lights and haunting folk songs, would be charged with sexual tension so thick that you could cut through it with a dandiya,” the article read.

Arre’s vile depiction of Hindu festivals and sexualising it is not limited to Navratri alone. The writers at Arre, who seems to extremely obsessed with mating rituals perhaps cannot think beyond sex, had come up with another article peddling the fake theories of ‘semen filled balloons’ thrown at Delhi University campus during Holi festival.

In one of its report, the author wrote, “Just a Semen-Filled Balloon… Bura Na Mano Holi Hai”. In short, the post compared the Holi festival to an act of sexual harassment.

It is pertinent to note that the ‘liberal-secular’ media outlets have gone great lengths to depict the festival of ‘Holi’ as some kind of crime event. To strengthen their narrative, the liberals have shamelessly passed off fake theories such as ‘semen filled balloons’ to present Holi festival as an event which is inherently ‘misogynistic’.

Secular establishment preaches morals and guilt-trips Hindus

The ‘liberal-secular’ media’s act of denigrating Hindus and their festivals is not a new phenomenon. Ever since the indigenous faiths of the country began to assert themselves, the ‘liberal-secular’ establishment have begun to preach morality to Hindus in an attempt to shame them for openly flaunting their religious identity.

The Hinduphobic media having the dubious distinction of maligning Hindu festivals have now stepped up their fight towards demonizing Hindus and the customs and traditions they hold sacred.

Not just our traditions, even the routine practises followed by the indigenous faith has now come under act from these ‘secular’ establishment. These ‘secular’ media establishment have started maligning Hindu festivals while glossing over the uncomfortable truths about the festivals of other religions.

The left-wing outlet ‘The Quint” had once vilified the Hindu festival of Holi and termed it as an occasion used by kids to unleash terror on the streets. Another notorious media outlet, Scroll, known for its anti-Hindu inclinations had resorted to publishing a post sending those celebrating the festival of Holi on a guilt trip by pointing out the terrible water crisis gripping the country.

Perhaps the most offensive post targeting the Hindu festivals was from the ultra-left wing rag – The Wire, that too had come up with the semen filled balloons theory and carried a post that said, “The festival of Holi perpetuates rape culture”.

The vile agenda against Hindu festivals is not just limited to Holi alone. Even, Deepavali – the festival of lights has time-and-again come under the scrutiny of the ‘liberal-secular’ media, who have wasted no time to indulge in their usual antics of bashing it by associating it with a false sense of being the source of pollution.

The champions of secularism have made a common point against celebrating Deepavali by accusing Hindus alone of causing pollution and guilt-trips Hindus about how they are causing serious harm to the health of kids and adults alike by bursting crackers.

In addition to that, the ecosystem often reminds us how animals feel threatened and disturbed by loud noises during Deepavali. On Diwali, the Quint published an article claiming that there should be an end to busting of firecrackers as there’s nothing religious about them. The Wire known for its anti-Hindu inclinations was disturbed over pollution caused by bursting of crackers that accompany the Hindu festival of Diwali.

Routine practises, beliefs under attack by ‘secular-liberal’ intelligentsia

The hatred for Hindus and their belief system is such that the ‘liberal-secular’ have left no stone unturned to pontificate and push Hindus into a corner by constantly shaming them for practising their faith.

Just a few months ago, during the nationwide lockdown, Times of India had published a story claiming at least 12 children from Hyderabad and surrounding areas had lost eyesight during the lockdown and had blamed the popular ‘Mahabharata’ and ‘Ramayana’ serials that were rerun on TV.

The ToI report had claimed that many children had started playing with homemade bows and arrows fashioned mostly out of broomsticks. This has resulted in injuries to kids, forcing parents to rush their kids with pierced eyes to the nearest hospital.

Liberals-Seculars turn blind eye to vices of other religion

Interestingly, the virtue signalling of the liberal-secular is only limited to Hindus. The liberals and seculars have always found a way to slander Hindu customs, festivals under the pretext of ‘secularism’ while ignoring over the uncomfortable truths about the festivals of other religions.

The modus operandi espoused by such media outlets entails pontificating Hindus about the vices purportedly associated with their festivals and holding the festivals responsible for the perpetuation of those vices. The lofty ideals of brotherhood, peace, inclusiveness etc are exclusive only for the Hindu festivals as they intentionally conceal all the glaring vices that are part of non-Hindu customs and faiths.
