Twitter in trouble with Child Rights Commission after its response in case of AltNews co-founder doxxing a child was found unsatisfactory: Details

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), issues a summon to the senior manager policy of the Twitter India to personally appear before the Commission on September 4, 2020, after it found Twitter India’s reply in AltNews co-founder Mohammed Zubair’s case, unsatisfactory. Priyank Kanoongo, the chairperson of the commission took to Twitter Today morning to inform that a notice has been issued to Twitter India with regards to the online abuse of a minor girl child by the co-founder of Alt News, Mohammad Zubair.

Child Rights Commission takes cognisance of tweets by Mohd Zubair

On August 8, the Child Rights Commission had taken cognisance of the matter and initiated action against the ‘fact-checking’ website AltNews co-founder Mohammad Zubair, who tweets from his verified handle @zoo_bear. Kanoongo had informed that Twitter India and the concerned law enforcement officials had been informed about the tweet, and they have been asked to take appropriate action.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights had acted on a complaint filed by Forum for Indigenous Rights- North-East India, an organisation working for the rights of people of North East India, against Md Zubair.

“We are deeply anguished about an incident of online harassment and threat followed by stalking of a minor girl by an online stalker Mohammed Zubair bearing the Twitter handle @zoo_bear,” the forum said in the letter, requesting the commission to register a non-bailable warrant against Zubair and asking to file a case against him under POCSO and other relevant laws.

Co-founder of AltNews shares the photo of a minor girl to intimidate the grandfather

On August 7, Zubair indulged in an online spat with a Twitter user Jagdish Singh. The AltNews co-founder targetted a minor girl in his Twitter fight with this social media user.  Instead of replying to the user directly, Zubair had brazenly referred to a minor girl seen in the profile picture of the user Jagdish Singh, presumably his granddaughter.

After Zubair had highlighted the minor girl seen in the photo, Islamists had started to issue rape threats to the girl. Zubair’s tweet came under heavy criticism from social media users who accused him of shamelessly using a child to get back at a critic.

When one Twitter user had tagged National Commission for Women to raise an alarm about the predatory behaviour by Zubair, the co-founder of AltNews brazened it out justifying his blatant doxxing that was clearly endangering the life of a minor.

People who hold ‘appointment cards’ are opposing us, CWC should have ‘elected’ members: Ghulam Nabi Azad

Congress party’s internal feud over the leadership issue has been out in the open recently. It was reported earlier that some senior leaders had written a letter to interim chief Sonia Gandhi asking for a complete overhaul in the party. However, since the day of the CWC meeting, the letter and its signatories have been under scrutiny and criticism from party leaders.

Congress veteran Ghulam Nabi Azad has stated that every state and district president, even the entire CWC should be elected and not appointed, hinting at an overhaul in party’s set standards and even indirectly questioning the Gandhis’ leadership.

Speaking to ANI, Azad stated, “Anyone who has a genuine interest in the internal working dynamics of Congress would welcome our proposal to have every state & district president as being elected. The entire Congress Working Committee should be elected”.

Azad further criticised the ‘appointed’ candidates and hinted that there is a faction in the party which does not want to the party strong. Azad advocated for elected CWC members serving a fixed tenure the party. “The intention is to make Congress active & strong. But those who simply got ‘appointment cards’ continue to oppose our proposal. What’s the harm in having elected CWC members who will have stable tenures in the party.”

‘Dissenting’ voices had met at Shashi Tharoor’s dinner, said report

Recently, a report in Hindustan Times had stated that Shashi Tharoor had hosted a dinner for Congress Leaders five months ago that allegedly had triggered the controversial letter asking for an overhaul in the party.

The HT report had stated that many prominent leaders including P Chidambaram, Karti Chidambaram, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Mani Shankar Iyer and Sachin Pilot attended the party. However, their signatures did not appear on the said 7th August letter addressed to Gandhi. In the letter, the signatories have asked the party high command for a ‘visible’ and ‘active’ leader.

Kapil Sibal, Ghulam Nabi Azad were criticised in CWC meeting

The said letter, however, had created a storm in the CWC meeting. Though the meeting could not decide on the most critical issue of party presidentship, and ended up declaring that Sonia Gandhi will continue to remain the ‘interim president’, the internal feud was out in the open.

Many senior leaders, including Ahmed Patel, had criticised the signatories of the letter. Kapil Sibal and Ghulam Nabi Azad also faced a lot of open criticism from fellow party leaders over the letter. Sonia, in her concluding remarks, reportedly said that she is hurt (over the letter) but she bears no ill will against the party leaders who wrote it.

Rhea Chakraborty had stolen Sushant’s debit card and obtained its PIN from late actor’s house manager: WhatsApp conversations reveal

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) which has got involved to probe the newly emerged ‘drug’ angle in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, made some startling revelations about Rhea Chakraborty- the late actor’s rumoured girlfriend and the prime accused in the case. According to the disclosures made by the investigation agency, Rhea had allegedly obtained the PIN for Sushant’s debit card and she was using Sushant’s money for her own expense.

It has been alleged that Rhea had stolen Sushant’s debit card and obtained the Personal Identification Number (PIN) for the debit card from the late actor’s house manager Samuel Miranda. As per reports, Sushant’s money was being used by both Rhea and Miranda, for funding their own expenses, after the actor’s death.

The Whatsapp conversation between Rhea Chakraborty and Miranda revealed that the two were ‘working in close coordination’ and were using ‘fund of SSR for their own purpose’ and the debit card pin was obtained through Miranda.

The Enforcement Directorate is also investigating the case as there were allegations by Sushant’s father that Rhea misappropriated Rajput’s money to a tune of Rs 15 crores.

Rhea Chakraborty sought narcotic substances such as Marijuana, CBD

The internal documents also revealed that Sushant’s rumoured girlfriend was also indulging in the procurement and usage of narcotics substance namely illegally since 2017. Whatsapp conversations revealed that Rhea was allegedly into drugs and Miranda was also deeply involved in it with her. It has also been alleged that Rhea Chakraborty administered drugs to Sushant Singh Rajput.

According to reports, two other conversations dated April 17, 2020, between Rhea and Miranda, pertains to the procurement of weed from Rhea’s brother – Showik and two bags of weed for Rs 17,000.

In one such other Rhea’s ‘drug Whatsapp chat’ on November 15, 2019, with her talent manager Jaya Shah, the latter had purportedly asked Rhea Chakraborty to “Use 4 drops in coffee, tea or water, and let him sip it. Give it 30-40 mins for it to kick in.”

Further, the actress thanked Saha for sending the drugs: “So glad you’ve sent this,” texted Rhea to Jaya after which Jaya asked, “Did it help at all?”

“Yes calmed him down quite a bit,” texted Rhea. The speculation is that the drops that Jaya was referring to are drug drops.

In another text between Rhea and Sushant’s househelp Dipesh Sawant, the duo spoke about buying marijuana for Rs 5,000 per bag.

The NCB has filed a case in Delhi and booked Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and others under Sections 20, 22, 27 and 29 of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act.

Data was wiped off from Sushant’s gadgets on 8th June

Earlier in the day, Siddharth Pithani, the late actor’s friend and flatmate, revealed to the CBI that 8 hard drives were destroyed on June 8 at Sushant’s Rajput’s residence in Mont Blanc Apartment before Rhea Chakraborty left the house.

Big ‘Liberal’ is watching you: The chilling part about the Delhi riots book ‘ban’

By now, everyone knows what happened with the book Delhi Riots 2020: The Untold Story. The book was about to be published … and then it wasn’t. Some powerful liberals objected; the Orwellian machine of global liberalism began to turn. And Bloomsbury appeared to buckle under pressure. This being the internet age, the book went on to gain amazing publicity and vitalized a smaller Indian publisher. It will now be published by Garuda Prakashan, which will reap both the goodwill and the profits from this now sure-shot bestseller.

It doesn’t matter, the liberals argue. They argue that the book has been denied the “prestige” of a publisher like Bloomsbury. And that’s all they care about. They are happy.

The Hindu right also has something to celebrate. The “banned” book has now attained cult status. Its reach will now be wider than anyone could have imagined.

In some sense, there is no better way to understand the feudal mentality of the modern liberal. The liberal is more concerned with protecting the sanctity of their cocktail circuit than touching base with the masses. They are convinced that nothing outside their little circuit matters. Because it doesn’t have “prestige.” According to them, who cares if the potential readership of the book has just expanded by a factor of ten? As long as nobody they know reads the book, it doesn’t exist.

Contrary to the popular myth, ostriches do not actually bury their heads in sand. But liberals surely do.

By now, a lot of outrage has appeared on social media and Hindu right wing platforms on the issue of this book. The dangers of cancel culture and the threat to freedom of expression have been mentioned repeatedly. I want to make a slightly different point, which I found to be most chilling.

The liberal outrage around the book was focused on Kapil Mishra. Why? Did Kapil Mishra write the book?

Now Bloomsbury did not give a detailed official explanation for their action and so we can’t be absolutely certain. So we will have to opt for a reasonable guess. Now, it is almost always bad when you are trying to get a book removed. But there are levels of intolerance and this one appears to be the worst (and most frightening).

(1) It is bad if you demand that a book be unpublished because you don’t like its contents. Or its cover, or title. But that does not seem to have happened here. The liberal outrage mob clearly hadn’t read the book.

(2) It is even worse if you demand that a book be unpublished because you don’t like the author. But in all that the outrage mob was saying, I found hardly any criticism of the authors themselves.

(3) If not the content of the book, if not even the author, who were the liberals outraging against? They were criticizing Kapil Mishra! It is absolutely worst of all if you demand that a book be unpublished because of who the author happened to meet (or planned to meet!)

That is a whole new level of intolerance. It’s not even ad hominem: the classic fallacy where you attack a person instead of their argument. It’s worse than that. It is attacking an argument based on your view of other people that this person happens to know! This is so bad that there isn’t even a term for this fallacy.

The consequences are absolutely frightening. If you appear with someone on a public platform and powerful people don’t like those you appeared with, they are going to ban your books? Seriously?

One of the authors of the book was an advocate at the Supreme Court. The other two were professors at Delhi University. One legal mind and two academic ones. But their book was unpublished because others don’t like who the authors were meeting with? Again, seriously?

They talk about slippery slope, but we are already in the abyss here.

So what is the correct level of “purity” to maintain? Big Liberal won’t answer this question and deliberately so. Acts like these are as much a message to their own minions as to their ideological opponents. They want to keep the standards vague. They want to keep their minions in perpetual state of fear, always stopping reflexively at the threshold of any dangerous thought. Orwell called it “crimestop” : the mind shuts down before it thoughtcrime happens.

If you tell them exactly where the lines are, they will start playing around freely within the lines. If you don’t tell them where the line is, the minions will be absolutely terrified all the time. They will only move in dense packs, crowd towards the center and never experiment. Not even slightly.

Because Big Liberal is watching you.

The good news is that Big Liberal is totally blind to the weakness in their own system. Nobody on their cocktail circuit dares to point it out. And they don’t think anyone else matters. So they don’t know.

Here’s the thing about liberals who are gloating about the denial of “prestige” to the book. They have forgotten where their prestige comes from. That left liberal privilege in those circles was a crumb tossed before them from the table of Nehruvian power. They have fooled themselves into buying their own propaganda about left wing intellectual superiority.

Their “prestige” came from the people. People voted for a certain political party for generations. And that party patronized them and made them “prestigious.” Without that power source, they are nothing.

Well, the people of India have changed their political preferences. The people have turned off the power source. With the political power changing hands, the “prestige” will change hands too. Matter of time.

The ostrich is not dumb enough to bury its head in sand. But liberals surely are.

Trouble in paradise: Barkha Dutt targets Rajdeep Sardesai after his interview of Rhea Chakraborty, calls him ‘schizophrenic’

Amidst the raging controversy over the alleged involvement of Rhea Chakraborty in the death of the 34-year-old actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the Bollywood actress featured in an interview alongside controversial journalist Rajdeep Sardesai. In the interview, Rhea Chakraborty, who had till today maintained a stoic silence, presented her ‘side of the story’ in the Sushant Singh suicide case.

However, the interview of Rhea Chakraborty with Rajdeep Sardesai did not receive a good response as netizens not only pointed several discrepancies in her statements but also pointed the hypocrisy of ‘journalist’ Rajdeep Sardesai for trying to whitewash the allegations against Rhea by carrying out an interview with an accused in the case.

Echoing a similar sentiment as several others, former news anchor Barkha Dutt too took a sly at the veteran ‘journalist’ Rajdeep Sardesai for his hypocrisy in attacking other media groups for covering Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case at the expense of other real issues, while he himself jumping on to the bandwagon to speak to Rhea Chakraborty, one of the main accused in the case.

In a series of tweets, taking potshots at Rajdeep Sardesai without naming him, Barkha Dutt said that TV anchors like Rajdeep Sardesai were gloating in day time about discussing ‘real issues’ on their news network and not indulging in carrying out media trials. However, at night they were indulging in a similar act like other news networks by covering the suicide case of Sushant Singh Rajput, Barkha Dutt quipped.

In a sharp attack, Barkha Dutt referred Rajdeep Sardesai as a ‘wondrous’ schizophrenic.

Tweet by Barkha Dutt

Continuing her attack against Rajdeep Sardesai, Barkha Dutt said she would honestly take the ‘openly, defiantly, brazenly ugh channels’ than the hypocrites like Rajdeep Sardesai. According to Dutt, Rajdeep Sardesai, who often positions himself to be different, was entirely oblivious to his own doublespeak.

Essentially, Barkha Dutt was referring to the usual flip-flop by Rajdeep Sardesai, who has been adamantly stating that he would not conduct any media trial or discuss the issue of Sushant Singh Rajput death case. Sardesai has been constantly attacking various other channels for their coverage on the actor’s suicide case.

The supposed journalist, who has been critical of other news networks carrying out day-in-day-out coverage of the Sushant Singh case coverage, has been lamenting about the lack of media coverage over other ‘real issues’.

Here is a series of tweets posted by Rajdeep Sardesai attacking various other news networks for covering the suicide case, who according to Rajdeep is silent on the important real issues that are plaguing the country currently.

It is pertinent to note that Rajdeep Sardesai has been very critical of a police investigation into the suspicious death of the actor.

Earlier he had asserted that Sushant’s family should “mourn in peace” and had raised objections when a police investigation was initiated. However, when he was told by IPS officers that it is the law to investigate every unnatural death, he had deflected his assertions.

Ironically, Rajdeep Sardesai, who was all along averse to the idea of covering Sushant Singh Rajput case, seems to have happily agreed to interview Rhea Chakraborty, who is the prime accused in the suicide case of the 34-year-old actor.

Interestingly, Aaj Tak – the Hindi news channel owned by the same India Today group to which Rajdeep Sardesai works, has been relentless in covering the suicide case. Perhaps, Rajdeep Sardesai has turned a blind eye over Aaj Tak’s coverage on the issue. In fact, the continuous coverage of Sushant Singh case by Hindi news channels, especially the likes of Aaj Tak has also received widespread criticism from various social media users.

It is, however, pertinent to note that Barkha Dutt is essentially no different from Rajdeep Sardesai. While she attacks Sardesai today, she herself had conducted an interview with a psychologist who had breached patient confidentiality and claimed that Sushant Singh Rajput was suffering from depression. This claim has been refuted by his family and everyone close to Sushant Singh Rajput. In his interview with Rhea, Rajdeep Sardesai did exactly the same. He rather clearly insinuated that Sushant Singh Rajput was suffering from the bipolar disease when in fact, there is no evidence to that effect.

Further, he failed to call out the blatant lies of Rhea when she claimed that Sushant Singh Rajput suffered from claustrophobia, a lie since he had undergone NASA training.

Madhya Pradesh: Congress workers meeting turns out to be a flop show, local leaders missing

0

The Madhya Pradesh Congress party had organized a membership drive cum workers meeting in Gwalior on 26th August that reportedly turned out to be a flop show. While local leaders were missing from the stage, the meeting could only start after two hours of the designated time.

As per the reports, the meeting ended only after ten minutes as no one turned up to get membership of the Congress Party. On the other hand, more than 75,000 people have already joined the Bhartiya Janata Party in the last few days in MP.

Local leaders were ignored

According to a report published in Nai Duniya, local leaders of Congress party refused to come on stage after they were asked to sit in the second row.

Many Congress leaders were missing

The Gwalior administration revoked the permission for the meeting on 25th August in the pretext of increasing cases of Covid-19 in the district. However, the permission was granted late night again after Congress leaders protested. Former minister Sajjan Singh Verma said on the permission issue that no one can stop them from holding a meeting.

The visuals of the meeting suggested that neither the leaders nor the workers cared about the social distancing. Many people were standing next to each other on the stage. The chairs that were placed in the hall were placed close to each other apparently to accommodate more workers.

Reports stated that many congress leaders, especially leaders from Chambal region were absent. only Sajjan Singh, PC Sharma and Jayavardhan Singh were there. Many MLAs were missing too.

The meeting started late but ended quickly Party leaders including Sajjan Singh Verma and Narmada Prasad Prajapati could not reach on time. They delayed arrival combined with other factors caused an overall delay of two hours in the meeting. Zee News Hindi quoted BJP’s Bhupendra Singh saying that it was a flop show. There were empty chairs, and the leaders were fighting with each other. The meeting ended in ten minutes after the press conference due to mismanagement and lack of new members to join the party.

Bengaluru Riots: 21 minors arrested by police in connection with stone-pelting and burning down two police stations

The Bengaluru police have arrested at least 21 minors in connection with the horrific Bengaluru riots unleashed by Muslim mobs that left four dead and more than 60 policemen injured, reports Daijiworld. According to the reports, more than 21 accused out of the 390 accused in the Bengaluru riots case have turned out to be minors.

The Bengaluru police had formed a separate team to watch videos and CCTV footage to gather find the culprits. During the investigation, it was found that most of the minors had indulged in stone-pelting incidents.

These minors are accused of unleashing violence along with the Muslim mobs at DJ Halli and KG Halli in Bengaluru. The Muslim mobs had vandalised two police stations and had torched down several vehicles and the residence of Congress MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy.

Bengaluru riots accused booked under UAPA

The Karnataka police have also invoked the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) against at least 61 accused in the Bengaluru riots case.

The Karnataka police chief Praveen Sood had informed Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa that the some of the accused in the riot case have been charged under the stringent provisions of UAPA.

A petition has been filed in the high court seeking directions to invoke provisions of Karnataka Control of Organized Crimes Act in respect of this incident and the court which heard the petition, has served notice to the state government.

The stringent action against the riots accused comes days after the Karnataka government had decided to recover the cost of public and private properties destroyed in the Bengaluru violence last week, from the rioters.

The state government had informed that it will request the Karnataka High Court to appoint a Claims Commissioner to assess the damage caused to properties in the riots as per the guidelines of the Supreme Court and fix the recovery cost.

Amidst chants of ‘Allah Hu Akbar’ and ‘Nara e Taqbeer’, Muslim mob unleashed violence in Bengaluru

On August 11, a Muslim mob went on a rampage and unleashed brutal violence and arson in Bengaluru over a Facebook post that was allegedly derogatory to Prophet Mohammad. The Muslim mob hit the streets near DJ Halli and KG Halli police station areas on Tuesday evening and attacked a Congress MLA’s house after one of his relatives had allegedly made a derogatory Facebook post.

More than 60 police personnel were injured in the stone-pelting and the subsequent riots unleashed by the irate Muslim mobs. At least 10 vehicles, including Innovas of two DCPs, were damaged in front of the stations. The mob also set fire to the vehicles in front of the DJ Halli police station.

During the pre-planned attack, the Muslim mob, carrying petrol bombs and other weapons, also barged into the nearby police quarters and attacked the premises. The Muslim mob was seen raising Islamic slogans like ‘Allah-hu-Akbar’ and ‘Nara-e-Taqbeer’ outside the police station.

SC refuses to grant permission for Muharram procession across the country, says case different from Puri Rath Yatra

0

A Supreme Court bench headed by by CJI SA Bobde refused to grant permission for carrying out Muharram processions across the country. The bench comprising Chief Justice SA Bobde, Justices AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian observed that in the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic, if the procession is allowed, it will lead to chaos.

“Granting general permissions for the whole country to take out Muharram procession will lead to chaos. A whole community may be targeted for spreading the virus. We, as a court, cannot expose you to that risk. We cannot give general directions”, the Supreme Court further said.

Muharram procession different from Puri Rath Yatra, cannot be compared: SC

CJI further went on to explain how the Muharram procession was completely different from the Puri Rath Yatra or the case of the Jain temples. He said that the Puri or the Jain temples had “identified areas of access”. Permission to the Puri Rath Yatra was given because it was from one point to another. Whereas, in the Jain Temple, Mumbai case, the plea for limited access was permitted. These were all limited prayers and we cannot pass general directions, Justice Bobde said.

It is notable here that no devotees were allowed in the Puri Rathayatra and temple servitors, who were already tested negative for the coronavirus, had carried out the rituals under strict guidelines.

When the petitioner asked if permission to hold the Muharram procession in only Lucknow can be granted, as a large percentage of the Shia community resided there, CJI asked the petitioner to move Allahabad HC.

Muharram will be observed on August 29. The plea sought a direction to allow the procession to take place across the country.

Shia cleric dares Lucknow authorities for putting a blanket ban on religious events due to coronavirus pandemic

We had reported last week that the controversial Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawad Naqvi had warned the Lucknow authorities against imposing a blanket ban on all Muharram rituals. The Shia cleric also said that he will be holding majlis (sermons) at the Imambara despite coronavirus protocols and dared the authorities to arrest them based on the “unconstitutional order”.

Attacking the Lucknow police authorities for putting a blanket ban on religious events due to coronavirus pandemic, Jawad had said that the guidelines issued for Muharram are unconstitutional and illegal.

Two decades later, the IC 814 hijacking comes back to haunt, links to Pulwama attack revealed: Read details

0

The IC 814 plane hijacking is one of the darkest chapters of Indian history. On 24th December 1999, IC 814, was en route from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal to Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. It was then hijacked by Pakistani terrorists and flown to several locations before landing in Kandahar, Afghanistan. The hostage crisis lasted for seven days and ended after India agreed to release three terrorists – Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar, Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, and Maulana Masood Azhar. Now, the IC 814 hijacking has come back to haunt India as its connections with the Pulwama terror attack emerge.

According to news agency IANS, Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists and their commanders in Pakistan had deposited Rs 10 lakh of Pakistani currency in the bank account of Mohammad Umar Farooq, son of IC 814 Indian Airlines hijacking case conspirator Ibrahim Athar, for carrying out the Pulwama terror attack.

These shocking revelations were made in the 13,500 page chargesheet that was filed by the NIA in the Pulwama terror attack case.

Further, the chargesheet revealed that Farooq, used Rs 5.7 lakh for Pulwama terror attack to buy Maruti Eco car, 200 kg of explosives and other logistic support.

Snapshot of cheque book uploaded by IANS

According to IANS, a senior security official said, “An amount of PKR 10 lakh was deposited in the bank account of Farooq, who was killed in an encounter with Indian security forces in March 2019.”

Ibrahim Athar was the conspirator of the IC 814 hijacking. It now appears that Pakistan was using his terrorist son, Mohammad Umar Farooq to carry out the Pulwama terror attack in 2019 and arrange for the items required for the attack that claimed the lives of 40 Indian soldiers after a terrorist rammed an explosive-laden car into the soldiers’ convoy.
