Amid the raging Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, the Nurse union of AIIMS Delhi has continued to hold protests for the third consecutive day. The Union is demanding better facilities for nursing staff especially female staffers who are working for longer hours during the times of pandemic.
The President of AIIMS Nurdse union, Harish Kaleja has written a letter to the director of the institute expressing his concern. He said, “Nurses are severely affected by longer working hours (exceeded upto 7 to 8 hours) while wearing PPE in corona virus management. Conditions of women nurses are largely affected. We are demanding better facilities at work place for our nurses who are backbone for any medical institute.”
“Our demand includes implementation of uniform 04 hours duty with PPE in COVID areas, the safety of female nurses, uniform rotation policy between COVID and NON-COVID areas, the establishment of proper donning and doffing area, refreshment after doffing, display of duty roster, shuttle service during the night shift, provision of ambulance facility for COVID screening/COVID positive staff among others,” Kajla said. He also said that the administration has not responded yet to the letter.
Reportedly, 47 nurses at the AIIMS have tested for COVID-19. However, AIIMS authorities have stated that no one from the medical staff has been tested positive of coronavirus.
While Dr DK Sharma, MS of AIIMS said that “atleast 329 health care workers have been found positive since February 1. 47 out them are nurses, 86 hospital attendants, 62 sanitation staff and 7 security personnel among others but none of them were infected from the hospital.”
Reportedly, three persons from AIIMS has been declared dead due to Corona virus pandemic including an electrician, a cook and a sanitation supervisor.
The Indian Railways has, till date, refunded Rs 1,885 crore towards cancellation of tickets to passengers due to the lockdown. The refund was initiated for passengers whose tickets were booked from March 21 to May 31, 2020, through the online mode. The railway has refunded the entire cost of the reserved tickets.
The amount owed to passengers has been directly transfered to the account from where the payment was earlier made to book the tickets. The Railways suspended its regular passenger train services from March 25, 2020, as the nationwide lockdown was announced to check the spread of the deadly pathogen in India. Since trains were cancelled en masse, the Indian Railways faced the challenge of returning a huge amount of refund to its passengers.
Indian Railways announced resumption of 200 trains from June 1
On May 21, Indian Railways had announced the restart of services of 200 passenger trains and issued a list of 100 pairs of trains that it will operate from June 1.
The decision to allow trains to resume operations comes after the Modi government announced the resumption of domestic flight services, in a phased manner.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce the decision. The Indian Railways will run 100 pairs of trains— to and fro. The bookings will open on Thursday, 21 May and booking can be made 30 days in advance. The tickets can only be booked from the IRCTC website.
Indian Railways had also issued some guidelines to be followed during the resumption of railway services across the country. The Railways also ordered that the food stalls and canteens at stations are to be opened, bringing back some normalcy on railway stations.
Second phase of resumption of trains
Earlier, the Indian Railways had announced the gradual resumption of passenger train services in the country. In the first phase, 15 pairs of trains, which will mean a total of 30 return journeys were opened for booking for general passengers, unlike the Shramik special trains which are booked by individual state governments to transport people stranded at various places due to the coronavirus Lockdown.
The Indian Railways had also started running special trains, named Shramik Special trains, on the exclusive request of state governments to enable migrant labours, pilgrims, students and others to reach their native places after remaining stranded at various places for over a month due to the lockdown.
Days after Islamists in Pakistan desecrated the ancient Buddhist rock carvings in the Chilas area of Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK)’s Gilgit-Baltistan by painting Pakistani flag and slogans, India has lodged a strong protest with Pakistan over the destruction of Indian-Buddhist heritage in the Gilgit-Baltistan region.
Anurag Srivastava, spokesperson, the Ministry of External Affairs, said India condemns the defacement and destruction of Indian Buddhist heritage in the Gilgit-Baltistan area of the Indian territory, which is under the illegal and forcible occupation of Pakistan.
“It is a matter of grave concern that Buddhist symbols are being destroyed and the religious and cultural rights and freedoms are being trampled with impunity in the Indian territories under illegal occupation of Pakistan,” MEA spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said in a statement.
It is a matter of grave concern that Buddhist symbols are being destroyed and the religious and cultural rights and freedoms are being trampled with impunity in the Indian territories under illegal occupation of Pakistan: Anurag Srivastava, Ministry of External Affairs
The Indian government has also sought access to the experts to the area in order to restore and preserve this invaluable archaeological heritage. The MEA added, “Egregious activities of this nature which display contempt for the ancient civilizational & cultural heritage are highly condemnable.”
The Ministry of External Affairs also called upon Pakistan to “vacate all illegally occupied territories and end the gross violation of political, economic and cultural rights of people living there”.
Buddhist rock carvings vandalised by Islamists in Gilgit-Baltistan
In a deplorable incident, the ancient Buddhist rock carvings in the Chilas area of Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK)’s Gilgit-Baltistan was desecrated by Islamists, who painted Pakistani flag and slogans on the rock-cut art.
The incident came to light when the locals of Gilgit-Baltistan posted images on social media platforms. The Islamists had vandalised the rock carvings by writing Islamic slogans on the rock-art that belonged to 800 AD.
According to UNESCO, these carvings, including a 9-ft tall figure of the Buddha, are the last surviving references to three Buddist councils. The other sites – Hunza and Haldekush also have some more of these Buddhist carvings.
As the first few cases of coronavirus began to surface in India in mid-March, indicating that the Wuhan coronavirus’s presence in India, PM Modi immediately ordered the implementation of the most potent measure hitherto to contain the spread of the virus—nationwide lockdown.
The first phase of India’s stringent coronavirus lockdown started on March 25 and continued for 21 days till April 15 where everyone was advised to hunker down at their homes and help the government in blunting the spread of the coronavirus.
PM Modi’s prompt call to enforce sweeping nationwide lockdown did not sit well with his detractors who hurriedly proceeded to proclaim that the Indian Prime Minister had erred by announcing a broad lockdown. They reasoned that there existed other better measures that should have been adopted by India which would not have been as economically challenging as the countrywide lockdown had been.
They presented and advocated the model espoused by the nordic country—Sweden, which resolutely refused to impose lockdown even as the coronavirus surreptitiously rampaged through the country.
Liberals went into raptures about Sweden’s coronavirus approach
Scores of leftist individuals took to Twitter to deride India’s approach in containing the coronavirus spread. Many of them harboured pathological hatred for PM Modi and have exhibited compulsively contrarian behaviour to target the Modi government. They extolled Sweden’s strategy of not imposing a blanket ban on the country’s economic activities while simultaneously limiting the spread of the contagion.
Aakar Patel, writer and columnist, indirectly slammed India’s decision to enforce widespread restrictions by citing Singapore, Sweden and Netherlands’ nonchalant approach in getting a handle at the coronavirus.
No lockdown in Singapore, Sweden, Netherlands. Schools, businesses open. Incorrect to say that this is the only solution. There are others.
Prashant Bhushan, who habitually lies to show the Modi government in a bad light, also lauded Sweden for being the only country in Europe to refuse to enforce lockdown.
Lockdown kills more than Covid: “Excess mortality was 60% in Belgium, 51% in Netherlands, but only 12% in Sweden. Sweden was the only European country that refused to lock down, and kept going while advocating social distancing, frequent hand washing etc”https://t.co/q51fAViEzK
Sagarika Ghose, infamous for her legendary journalism, hailed Sweden’s decision of not locking down their country in the face of the threat posed by a coronavirus. She tweeted that Sweden had not enforced lockdown because it had developed “herd immunity”.
Another prominent liberal, Ashok Swain, a foul-mouthed professor who feels no compunction in peddling lies, authored an article suggesting India adopt Sweden’s approach in tackling the coronavirus crisis.
Taking a swipe at the Modi government, he said that Sweden had taken allowed its policy to be curated by experts and not politicians, devised its own approach instead of copying others, did not indulge in the blame game, supported health care workers rather than public spectacles and cluster-wise her immunity inter alias.
#MyPiece – What India can learn from Sweden’s #COVID19 Strategy: 1. Decision by experts NOT politicians, 2. Precise pro-active policy NOT copying others, 3. NO blame game 4. Support Health workers NO public speactcles 5. Cluster-wise herd immunityhttps://t.co/fZpu7fux54pic.twitter.com/R7DaUznuXp
Professor Steve Hanke, who is critical of the Modi government, also sang praises of coronavirus strategies employed by Singapore, Sweden, South Korea and Hong Kong while criticising the Indian strategy of enforcing stringent lockdown.
Sweden in-charge of COVID-19 response says his country’s coronavirus approach was flawed
However, according to the latest admission by Anders Tegnell, the man behind Sweden’s laissez-faire policy of not imposing the lockdown, the approach espoused by his country in handling the coronavirus crisis was flawed. While speaking on Swedish public radio, the epidemiologist and in-charge of country’s COVID-19 response, Tegnell said: “If we were to encounter the same disease again, knowing exactly what we know about it today, I think we would settle on doing something in between what Sweden did and what the rest of the world has done.”
— Strategic Spaminder Bharti (@attomeybharti) June 3, 2020
The comments by Tegnell followed mounting criticism of Sweden’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak. Sweden remains the only Scandinavian country that has registered an outsize number of casualties resulting from COVID-19. While the total number of infection in Sweden amounted to 38,589 with 4,468 fatalities, Denmark, Norway and Finland, who had diligently imposed lockdown, have seen far lower rates of infection and mortalities. Denmark has seen 580 deaths, Norway and Finland registered 237 and 320 deaths respectively.
The Supreme court has refused to consider the demand to change the official name of ‘India’ to ‘Bharat’. The Public Interest Litigation filed in the apex court sought the constitution of India to be amended to retain only “Bharat” and exclude “India” from the official name of the country under Article 1.
A petitioner named Namah had put this demand in the apex court. He described himself as a farmer by profession. He argued that after using ‘Bharat’ as an official name of the country there will be a communication of self-respect among the people. The name ‘India’ was kept by the British which should be avoided from using now.
The petitioner had also cited the debate in the constituent assembly that framed the constitution of the country. It was told that many members were in favour of naming the country as Bharat. He mentioned that after that long struggle for independence the country should be freed from the name given by the Britishers. It is also a symbol of slavery. Apart from ‘Bharat’, those members had also suggested names like Bharatbhumi, Bharatvarsha, Hind, Hindustan as alternative names but couldn’t be agreed. The introduction of Bharat in the constitution of India has been written as ‘India that is Bharat’.
It is mentioned in the plea that the time has come that country should not be named as ‘India that is Bharat’ but only as Bharat. In recent years, he also cited changing the names of cities according to the Indian cities and tradition and culture.
“Not the job of court,” says CJI SA Bobde
The Bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde, comprising Justice AS Bopanna and Rishikesh Rai. The three judges heard the case through video conferencing from their homes. As soon as the advocate Ashvin Vaish started to argue on behalf of the petitioner, the CJI asked, “Why did you move here? It is not the job of the court to consider such issues.”
On this, the petitioner’s lawyer said that the case is important. He said that it is necessary to change the name written in Article 1(1) of the constitution for the national self-respect. The court should consider this. Chief justice said, “You are saying that the official name of the country should be changed to Bharat. But the name Bharat is already there in the constitution.”
The lawyer said, “The name India derives from the Greek word Indica. The official use of this name derived from a foreign language should be discontinued.” On this CJI said, “In this way, the government and parliament decide in the case. You go and give the memorandum to the government. Reassure it with your arguments.”
On 1st June, online portal The Wire published a story claiming that the Tripura government didn’t provide any food grains to the students under the mid-day meal scheme. Quoting documents accessed by the portal under the Right to Information, The Wire claimed that not only Tripura govt failed to provide food grains to the students, they also paid less than prescribed amount towards cooking cost of mid-day meals, which were directly transferred to the accounts of parents of the students.
But the OSD to the chief minister of Tripura, Sanjay Mishra today tweeted saying that the report by The Wire is completely misleading and untrue. He asserted that money have been transferred to the parents of the students as per guidelines issued by the MHRD in light of the situation arising out of the Coronavirus outbreak and the lockdown.
https://t.co/rzKl0vg3xj
It may be noted that as schools are closed due to the lockdown, state governments are transferring the relevant amount to the parents of students who are eligible for the mid-day meal scheme.
In its report, The Wire said that Tripura govt paid Rs 5 per day to the primary school students and Rs 7 was paid to the upper primary students. They attached two letters from the Directorate of Elementary Education of Tripura to the inspector of schools informing about the allocation of funds at this rate first for 30 days, from 17th March to 15th April, and subsequently for 45 days from 17 April to 31 May. Citing the revised cooking cost fixed by the union govt that came to effect on 1st April, the report claimed that “only the cooking cost per child per school day has been transferred to the students’ accounts”.
The Wire said that “this works out to Rs 4.97 and Rs 7.45 per day at primary and upper primary levels respectively, which includes the procurement of pulses, vegetables, oil, spices and fuel”. And they claimed that the Rs 5 and Rs 7 paid by the Tripura govt is less than the cost of cooking, and it didn’t provide any food grain to the students. While 7 is less than 7.45, the Rs 5 paid for primary level is actually more than the Rs 4.97 prescribed as per rules, which the Wire failed to mention.
The Tripura government has issued a statement dismissing the report by The Wire, and it shows that the Tripura govt actually paid more amount to the students as compared to the amount due as per MHRD guidelines. The Wire compared the entire amount with the revised norms, but the period of lockdown was spanned in two financial years, 2019-20 and 2020-21, and therefore the prescribed amounts are also different. Before 31st March, the prescribed amount was Rs 4.53 for primary level and Rs 6.71 for upper primary, which means both the amounts Rs 5 and Rs 7 were actually more than the prescribed amounts, not less as the Wire is claiming.
Breakup of amount payable under mid-day meal scheme
The amount is less only for the upper primary level for the current financial year, while for the primary level it was more than the prescribed amount in both the years.
Moreover, the claim made in the subtitle of the report, which said “An RTI query shows that the mid-day meal allowance for Tripura primary school students is less than Rs 5 a day”, is also completely misleading, as the national level allowance itself is Rs 5.27 for current fiscal and Rs 4.83 for the previous year.
Coming to the cost of food grains, it is a small amount, which the Wire does not mention to imply that a huge amount was held back. As per norms, the cooking cost already includes the cost of pulses, vegetables, oil, salt, spices and fuel. It is mentioned by The Wire itself in the report. Only the main food grain, rice or wheat, is not included in the cost. The statement issued by the Tripura Govt shows that Rs 0.30 is allocated as cost of rice for the primary level, and Rs 0.45 for upper primary. Therefore, in net per student rate paid to the students by the govt in both the financial years, primary students got more in the first phase but less in the second phase, and upper primary students got less in both the phases.
Even in that case, the total amount that the students received was more than the prescribed amount. This is because the Tripura govt paid for the entire duration of 75 days, while if the schools were open, the govt would need to pay for only those days when schools were open. According to the Tripura govt statement, there were total 20 holidays in the period from 17 March to 31 May, which means the students received an extra amount for these 20 days, which more than offsets the shortfall in the cost of food grains.
From the statement issued by Tripura govt
The calculation by the state govt shows that if the amount was paid only for working days, it would be Rs 5,93,15,181 in the first phase and Rs 8,68,66,134 in the second phase. But the Tripura govt paid Rs 7,47,99,030 and Rs 11,21,98,545 respectively. Both these actual amounts are also mentioned in the documents accessed by The Wire using RTI. This means Tripura govt paid Rs 4.08 crore extra to the students.
Now if we analyse the amount actually received by students compared with the prescribed amount, we can see that both primary and upper primary students received more amount, as they were paid for the holidays also.
This calculation shows that primary students were paid 58% more, while the upper primary students got 40% more amount. Hence, an average of 50% more was paid to the students.
Therefore, it can be seen that The Wire claiming Tripura paid less to the students under the mid-day meal is completely false, as the actual amount paid was much more than what was due as per norms.
The Food Corporation of India (FCI) has slammed Scroll after the latter published a report claiming that India had let 65 lakh tonnes of grains go to waste during the period of lockdown. The FCI said that the error was caused due to a misinterpretation of the terminology used in the data on the basis of which the report was authored.
Leftist propaganda website Scroll.in published an article dated June 3, 2020, titled: “India let 65 lakh tonnes of grain go to waste in four months, even as the poor went hungry”, in which it claims that instead of using its grain stocks to feed the poor and hungry during the coronavirus-lockdown crisis, the Indian government is letting this food rot in its godowns.
It claimed that in “just four months, between January 1 and May 1, the stock of rice and wheat that was not “readily issuable”, which included partially spoilt as well as damaged grain, increased from 7.2 lakh tonnes to 71.8 lakh tonnes. This is more than the amount of grain that has been distributed through PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana in April and May to deal with the crisis of livelihoods and food insecurity created by the Covid- 19 lockdown”.
FCI said that they have already spoken to one of the authors and it was confirmed that the misinformation was spread on the basis of a misinterpretation. “It is surprising to note that patently wrong information has been published in your online news portal without making any effort to check the facts and thereby giving completely wrong information to the public at large that 65 lakh MT food grain has been wasted during last 4 months.”
Source: FCI/Twitter
FCI explained that in the month of May, Rabi season wheat procurement happen at a large scale. The wheat stock thus procured is shifted to government storage houses over time. There is a certain time lag as large scale logistical operations are involved. Thus, at any given point of time, there will be a certain amount of procured wheat that has not yet been shifted to a storage house.
Consequently, there are stocks in transit as it takes time to shift them from surplus to consuming states. Due to the lockdown necessitated by the pandemic, numerous welfare schemes were launched due to which the demand for grains increased substantially. As a consequence, there was a larger amount of stock in transit.
Source: FCI/twitter
FCI stated, “It is apparent from the news report that this quantity of wheat stocks lying in procurement centers to be shifted to storage points as well as rice and wheat under transit to consuming states from procuring states has been labelled as “wasted food grains” and has been highlighted in the article.”
“It is a matter of grave concern that neither the researchers neither your online news portal made any effort to understand the data/terminology or verify the facts before publishing a report which could tarnish the image of a public organisation like the FCI engaged in front line of fight against Covid-19,” it stated.
Source: FCI/Twitter
FCI stated that they had spoken to Dr. Vikas Rawal, one of the co-authors of the report, and he had confirmed that the data was taken by interpreting the stocks yet to be shifted to storage centers and stocks in transit as “not readily issuable”. It was also confirmed that these grains have not been wasted by any measure and they are fit for human consumption.
FCI stated that the mistake could have been avoided if they had been approached for interpretation of the data/terminology which is context specific. The actual quantity of damaged food grains was also provided by the FCI and it was demanded that Scroll issue an immediate clarification given the sensitive nature of the issue.
Scroll shared fake claim that children in Bihar are eating frogs due to lack of food, lies busted by DM
This is however not the first time the leftist mefia portal has been called out for its lies and fake news. Recently, the DM of Jehanabad, Bihar had busted Scroll’s lie after it claimed that children in Bihar are eating frogs due to lack of food.
Media portal the Scroll.in had shared a video claiming that some children in Bihar’s Jehanabad are forced to survive on frogs because they do not have food to eat during the lockdown.
Following the propagation of the claim by Scroll, DM of Jehanabad launched an investigation into the issue. Bihar government’s Information and Public Relations Department had shared the information that upon investigation into the claims made by the video, it was found that the children had enough food stored in their homes and none had any reason to catch or eat frogs.
They stated that the video was made by some individuals with a malicious intention to defame the district administration.
PIB called out Scroll
Following the clarification, Government of India’s Press Information Bureau also called out Scroll for sharing the fake and unverified claims.
Following the fact-check, Scroll has since updated its report and mentioned that their claim has been busted by the DM’s investigation.
After the shocking case of animal cruelty in which a pregnant elephant had died after some locals fed her cracker-filled pineapple which later exploded in her mouth came to the fore, a similar case in Kollam district, where a young female elephant died of injuries in her mouth, has come to light.
News agency PTI quoted a top forest officer as saying that another female elephant had met with a similar fate in April in Pathanapuram forest range area under Punalur division in Kollam district, Kerala.
The officer confirmed that in the month of April the official of the forest department had found a female elephant in a serious condition from the fringe areas of the forests in Pathanapuram. “The pachyderm was found alienated from the herd of elephants. Its jaw was broken and it was unable to eat,” the senior officer told PTI.
“It was very weak. When the forest officials approached, the female elephant ran into the forest and joined the herd of elephants waiting there. But the next day, the elephant was again found alienated from its herd. Proper treatment was given, but unfortunately, it succumbed to its wounds,” he said.
Another official said an investigation has been launched into the incident.
“It is suspected that the elephant bit a food item filled with crackers and it exploded in her mouth. We are waiting for the postmortem report,” the officer, who did not wish to be identified, said.
Pregnant elephant died after eating cracker-filled pineapple in Kerala
We reported today how a pregnant elephant had died on May 27 after some locals fed her cracker-filled pineapple which later exploded in her mouth. The incident took place in Malappuram district of Kerala when the elephant had wandered into a village in search of food. However, some villagers stuffed pineapples filled with firecrackers on her tusks while she was walking on the streets.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden Surendrakumar said that her jaw was broken and she was unable to eat after she chewed the pineapple which exploded in her mouth. The issue came to light when forest officer Mohan Krishnan shared about it on social media. He said that she was standing in the river with her head dipped in water.
As reported by news agency ANI, Mannarkkad forest range officer has said that an FIR under relevant sections of the Wild Life Protection Act has been registered.
The Tablighi Jamaat links have emerged in the charge-sheet filed by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police pertaining to violence in Shiv Vihar area during the Anti-Hindu riots in Delhi. During the investigation by the Delhi Police Crime Branch, it was revealed that Farooque’s call detail analysis shows links with prominent members of Popular Front of India, Pinjratod Group, Jamia Coordination Committee, Hazrat Nizamuddin Markaz and some other fundamental Muslim clerics.”
It is pertinent to note that the controversial Nizamuddin Markaz had emerged as one of the hotspots for spread of deadly coronavirus cases in the country in March this year which led to exponential rise in positive cases.
The Delhi Police have filed various cases against members of radical Islamic group Popular Front of India, ultra-left wing Pinjra tod group, Jamia Coordination Committee for their involvement in the anti-Hindu riots in the national capital that killed 53 people and left hundreds injured.
The FIR filed by Delhi Police in connection with the Anti-Hindu Delhi Riots. The FIR reveals how owner of Delhi’s Rajdhani School was in connection with Nizamuddin Markaz members.
Burning school, targetting neighbourhood was a pre-planned incident: Charge-sheet
Further, the charge-sheet filed in the case pertaining to violence in Rajdhani School revealed that the Muslim mob had camped inside the school building and fired bullets from its terrace.
The mob used the terrace of Rajdhani school to throw petrol bombs, acid, bricks, stones, and other missiles using an improvised large iron catapult installed there. The mob used ropes to climb down from the roof of Rajdhani school into the compound of DRP convent school and set the school on fire.
Catapult found on top of school which was used during riots to throw stones
According to the charge-sheet, the Muslim mob had used ropes to climb down from the terrace of the Rajdhani School to enter into the compound of Hindu-owned DRP Convent School and later had set the school on fire. The owner of DRP Convent School had filed a complaint.
During the Delhi Police investigation, it was also found that the mob had looted the computers and other expensive items from DRP Convent School. The mob had also burnt the building belonging to Anil Sweets, which stood right in front of Rajdhani School. An employee of Anil Sweets Dilbar Negi was trapped and killed inside the building. His charred body was found by police later.
The charge sheet also said that on 24 February, many children from Muslim families had left the school early, along with their parents, which indicate that the riot was pre-planned. The presence of Glass bottles for Molotov cocktails, rope and iron catapult on the terrace of Rajdhani school point towards the execution of a well-planned strategy and assault on the other party, the charge sheet asserts.
The roof of Rajdhani school
The Delhi Police had arrested 18 persons, including Faisal Farooque, the owner of Rajdhani School, in connection with the violence case in the national capital. According to witnesses, the buildings of DRP Convent school and Anil sweets were set on fire on the instructions of Faisal Farooque.
The Wire had attempted to whitewash crimes of Rajdhani school owners and the Muslim mob
The shocking act of rioting by Muslim mobs during the Anti-Hindu Delhi riots in February was given a twist by the ultra-left wing elements in the media. In an attempt to absolve the crimes of owners of the Rajdhani School, ‘The Wire’ and NDTV had attempted to water down the incident of Hindu owned school being gutted by an angry Muslim mob during the Anti-Hindu riots.
In an act of peddling fake news by ‘The Wire’, in one of its report, it had claimed that the Hindu groups in the area were the aggressor and falsely claimed that both schools were owned by Muslims. However, it was a lie. The Rajdhani school was a Muslim owned school that was used as a base to launch attacks as evidenced by the photos attached earlier in this article and it was the DRP school which was completely gutted by the Muslim mob.
Essentially, The Wire, continuing to absolve crimes of the actual perpetrators, took vandalism and planned hooliganism by the Islamist mob and painted it as if a Hindu mob had attacked two schools that belonged to Muslims.
Even as the United States is convulsed with violent riots following the unfortunate killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police personnel, some sick ISIS supporters and sympathisers online are gloating over the chaotic protests that have engulfed hundreds of cities across the country.
As per a report published in The Sun, ISIS supporters could not stop themselves from expressing their jubilation over the violent outbreaks at several places in the United States on the anonymous chat app Telegram. The total and utter breakdown of law and order in America is hailed by pro-ISIS users as ‘divine comeuppance for the treatment of Muslims’. One of the ISIS supporters egged on the Muslims living in the United States to arm themselves with guns, citing ‘self-defence reasons’ as they may be targeted next.
“May Allah gives them a taste of what they did to the Muslims in Somalia, Afghanistan, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, and Palestine, and may save the Muslims there from all evil,” another message from an anonymous ISIS adherent read.
Telegram app is replete with incognito ISIS supporters who have been seizing on the unrest to peddle their hatred against the non-Muslims. “Rejoice at the infidels. This is the condition of those who attack Muslims and the Religion of Allah,” still another message read referring to the turmoil in the US.
One warped ISIS supporter shared the photos of violence in America saying, “O Allah, burn them like they burned the lands of the Muslims.”
Violent clashes in the United States
The USA has seen unprecedented riots in the wake of the killing of George Floyd, an African American, by the Police. The ‘protests’ after the death escalated into full-fledged riots, arson, vandalism and looting. Stores, both big and small, were ransacked by thugs and the Police were helpless before them. Soon, the national guards had to be deployed to get the situation under control.
The killing of George Floyd has once again reignited the debate over the pervasive racial discrimination that continues to plague the American society. Demonstrators have taken to the streets—not just to condemn the treatment meted out to Floyd, which eventually led to his death—but to the broader discrimination that continues unabated against the Black American population.
