Hindus in Pakistan are accepting Islam so that they can survive in the country

0

Pakistani Hindus are known to be one the most badly persecuted minority community in the world. They have been victim of systemic discrimination and forced conversions. There have been regular reports about how young Hindu girls are kidnapped and married off to their abductors in Pakistan. The abductors then claim that the Hindu girls ‘eloped’ with them and willingly changed their religion.

Now a report in the New York Times has shown how the poor Hindus of Pakistan are left with no choice but to accept Islam. The report mentions that many Hindus have become Muslims in hope that they will get money and dignity to survive in the Islamic state of Pakistan.

“The dehumanization of minorities coupled with these very scary times we are living in — a weak economy and now the pandemic — we may see a raft of people converting to Islam to stave off violence or hunger or just to live to see another day,” Farahnaz Ispahani, a senior fellow at the Religious Freedom Institute, a research group in Washington, was quoted as saying by the New York Times.

BCCI and VIVO India cancel partnership for upcoming IPL season

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and VIVO Mobile India Pvt Ltd have suspended their partnership for the upcoming Indian Premiere League (IPL) season.

The decision comes days after Indians across called for boycott of Chinese brands and products after the aggression at Galwan Valley in Ladakh from the Chinese Army and the violent faceoff wherein Indian soldiers were martyred.

Assam: Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan celebration by Bajrang Dal attacked by Muslim locals, curfew imposed

An indefinite curfew has been imposed and prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC has been promulgated in areas falling under the jurisdiction of Thelamara and Dhekiajuli police stations in Sonitpur district of Assam. The curfew has been imposed from 10 PM of August 5 (Wednesday), after several people were injured in a clash between two communities over Ram temple Bhoomi Pujan celebration on Wednesday.

According to reports, at least 12 Bajrang Dal activists were injured and several bikes and a four-wheeler belonging to them were burnt in the clash. Sonitpur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manavendra Pratap Singh’s vehicle was also reportedly damaged in the clash.

Locals from other community objected to Bajrang Dal activists’ celebratory rally

Tensions gripped the district in Assam after a group of people attacked Bajrang Dal activists who organised a bike rally to celebrate the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir. The incident happened when Bajrang Dal activists, who were heading towards a Lord Shiva temple in Bhora Singori in the Thelamara police station area, were intercepted by a group of people belonging to the Muslim community. The Muslim locals allegedly objected to the Bajrang Dal activists raising Jai Shriram slogans and playing music. This resulted in a heated exchange of argument between the two groups which soon culminated into a clash.

According to a senior police official, “locals objected to the group playing loud music in their area. They also asked why the rally was organised when the people were fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. This led to arguments, which eventually turned ugly and a clash started.”

Additional force deployed, section 144 imposed in Sonitpur, Assam

Sonitpur district’s Deputy Commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh who arrived at the spot to control the situation was also reportedly attacked by the two groups. “To control the situation, which turned into a communal clash, police first lathi-charged and then fired in the air. We have deployed additional forces after many bikes and other vehicles were burnt,” Singh said.

In his order, Singh cited “grave law and order situation” as the reason to impose the curfew and also said that prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed in Sonitpur district in areas falling under Thelamara and Dhekiajuli PS.

While addressing the media later in the evening, the deputy commissioner said: “Situation is under control as of now.”

Meanwhile, District Magistrate Keerthi Jalli said Section 144 has been imposed to prevent extremist elements from crossing over to Cachar from Bangladesh to create law and order problem.

While most Bollywood actors and cricketers chose not to welcome Ram Mandir, here are the ones who did not shy away

The Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan on 5th August 2020 was no less than Diwali for Hindus across the Globe. Many artists paid tribute to Bhagwan Ram with their paintings, illustrations etc. PM Narendra Modi along with 174 other invitees was present for Bhoomi Pujan in Ayodhya.

However, most of the Indian ‘celebrities’ including actors and cricketers avoided commenting on the Ram Mandir or celebrating the occasion. Only very few of them showed their enthusiasm on social media.

Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan said in a tweet that it is a day of celebration. “Congratulations to everyone involved,” he tweeted.

Actor Akshay Kumar called it a historic day. He wrote, “Diwali came early this year. The historical day indeed! Jai Siya Ram.”

Actor Varun Dhawan posted a photograph of Bhagwan Ram and Bhagwan Hanuman along with a quote in Hindi that said “Chant the name of Bhagwan Ram like Shri Hanuman and get rid of all the problems in your life.”

Actor Nikitin Dheer quoted the video of Time Square LEDs beaming photos of Ram Mandir and said, “Jai Shri Ram.”

Cricketer Harbhajan Singh wished all Indians on the day of Bhoomi Pujan. He added that on this day, people should promote mutual love, friendship, compassion and the highest human values in the country.

Saurav Gurjar, a WWE wrestler who also played the role of Bheem in Star Plus’ mega-show ‘Mahabharat’, posted a video wishing everyone on Bhoomi Pujan. He said, “Ram Mandir is a symbol of faith for Hindus.” He asserted that for so long, Shri Ram Ji remained in a tent and the day when finally the construction of a grand temple starts, is a very significant day for Hindus.

Actor Ranvir Shorey said that Bhagwan Ram had to overcome a historical invasion by the Mughals, existential whataboutery by Liberals, and political opportunism by the Congress to come back home this time.

Actor Kartik Aaryan posted a witty cryptic message and said, “aaj breakfast mein sabr ka phal khaya.” He was probably hinting at the Hindi proverb “Sabra ka fal meetha hota hai”, meaning the result of patience is always sweet.

Kangana Ranaut posted on her official team account, “What could not happen in 500 years happened this year.”

Badminton player Saina Nehwal quoted ANI’s tweet of Bhoomi Pujan and said, “Jai Shri Ram.”

Actor Riteish Deshmukh posted “Jai Shri Ram” multiple times in a tweet ahead of Bhoomi Pujan.

Many social media users pointed out the fact that most of the ‘celebrities’, who are otherwise vocal about contemporary issues, and share festival wishes on their social media handles with special photographs, chose to keep mum about one of the most significant days for the Hindu around the world.

According to Ram Janmbhoomi Teerath Kshetra Trust, the construction of Ram Mandir will be completed in 3.5 years. The Trust will soon start an outreach program to collect funds for the Temple. If anyone is interested in contributing to the Mandir construction, you can check the process here.

Remembering Sushma Swaraj: Watch her historic speech in Lok Sabha on secularism, being unapologetic Hindu and Ram Mandir

0

On the death Anniversary of Sushma Swaraj, it is important to remember her role in Indian politics as a people’s leader and a great orator. In June 1996, she spoke in Lok Sabha for almost 30 minutes to present her stand on secularism, communalism, Ram Mandir and being an unapologetic Hindu.

In her speech, she said that they were communal because they advocate the singing of Vande Matram and fight for the respect of the National Flag. She added that if demanding abrogation of Article 370 is communal, she accepts the tag proudly. It has to be noted that just a day before her death, on 5th August 2019, the Indian government announced the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. At that time, she thanked Prime Minister in her last tweet and said, “Thank you Prime Minister. Thank you very much. I was waiting to see this day in my lifetime.”

The real face of “secular” forces in Swaraj’s words

When Bhagwati Devi interrupted her during the speech and said that she was stopped from entering a temple, and asked is she not Hindu. To which Swaraj said that Bharatiya Janta Party had laid the foundation of the Ram Mandir by the hands of a Harijan (Dalit). She added that Congressmen are secular, the same congressmen who murdered 3000 Sikhs on the streets of Delhi. In Bihar, Janata Dal people divided Yadavs and Muslims that resulted in the 1989 riots, and now they are enjoying the tag of seculars.

Swaraj said that these people of the Samajwadi Party made their vote bank happy by killing innocent Rambhakts with bullets. Still, they enjoy the tag of being secular. The Communist people chased Chakma refugees away and kept on accepting illegal immigrants. They are now enjoying being called secular.

She said, “we are not ashamed of being Hindu, we are communal and we are anti-secular, and in this country, if you are not ashamed of being a Hindu, then you cannot be certified a secular by these pseudo-intellectuals. Mr Speaker, our definition of secularism is that a Hindu should be a good Hindu, a Muslim should be a good Muslim, a Sikh should be a good Sikh and a Christian should be a good Christian, and everyone should follow their religions while simultaneously respecting each other.”

Swaraj – the people’s minister

Sushma Swaraj became the youngest member of the cabinet at the age of 25 in Haryana Government. In Modi government, she was well known for her role as the Minister of External Affairs. During her tenure, she helped thousands of stranded Indians to reach back home and people from other countries to find a way to India, especially for medical treatment. When Swaraj was getting treated for a kidney ailment, she kept working from Hospital and then home to ensure those who need support, get it on time.

On her demise, the people from across world mourned and posted messages remembering her contribution towards society. Irrespective of geography and political ideology, Sushma Swaraj was loved by everyone for her work and dedication. The complete transcript of her speech is available here.

Ram Janmabhoomi movement: Three sacrifices that can never be forgotten

When PM Modi performed Bhoomi Pujan in Ayodhya yesterday, it capped a five hundred year struggle for Hindus to reclaim Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. The temple becomes the most visible symbol of pushback by Hindus in nearly one thousand years.

As every Hindu knows, on a tour of holy places in India, especially in the North, you always come up against the same sad story. So and so was a great temple, but then … destroyed it. You know who. It could be Kashi, Mathura, Ayodhya. Or even a slightly less famous place such as the Shakti Peeth of Jwalamukhi temple in Himachal Pradesh. Akbar ordered the naturally occurring flames of the temple to be extinguished by covering them with iron discs and pumping water. It didn’t work.

I deliberately chose this example, considering that there is a particularly strong genre of fan fiction about Akbar’s “secularism” in our Ganga-Jamuni textbooks.

In India, the evidence of temple destruction is everywhere. The ASI dug the ground in Ayodhya, but you really don’t need to work as hard. There are famous places in India where you can literally see the old temple wall at the back of the mosque. The Indian state deals with this by banning photography of the exterior of the mosque. And most importantly, the phenomenon of destroying places of worship of non-believers can be observed all over the Muslim world even today. A temple under construction in Islamabad was demolished only last month.

In other words, the evidence for temple destruction is so vast and overwhelming that you would have to be a “historian” to not believe it.

At long last, on the 5th day of August 2020, we have a change of narrative. Hindus lost something. And they got it back.

Five hundred years of struggle went into this moment. There would be so many heroes that it is impossible to remember them all. The vast majority of them have been lost to history. But here are three in the post-independence era that we can never forget.

Karsewaks who perished in police firing in Ayodhya

At the Bhoomi Pujan yesterday, one of the guests was Poornima Kothari from Kolkata. For nearly 30 years, she had been offering rakhi to pictures of her brothers : Ram and Sharad Kothari, who were killed in police firing in Ayodhya in 1990.

We don’t know much about the Ayodhya firing incident. The state government led by Mulayam Singh Yadav claimed that 16 people had been killed. If you know anything about India, you will understand that means 16 is just a starting point.

The English language media refused to report on the incident for reasons of political correctness. There is something to be said here about Hindi language media (and in other Indian languages) which created a subaltern network to disseminate information about the brutality in Ayodhya. Back then, there were no smartphones to break the information blackout. And presumably, no conscience either among the Indian and global elite. Otherwise, they would have called it a pogrom.

As late as 2017, Mulayam Singh Yadav still justified his decision. In fact, he said that the police should have killed even more if needed.

Godhra carnage of Feb 27, 2002

At least this time, we have an exact number of 59 killed. Aren’t we lucky?

Fifty nine human beings burned to death in a railway compartment. Ten of them were just children. In any other nation, this would have led to an outpouring of grief, sympathy for the victims and outrage against the perpetrators.

But in India, the opposite happened. Vicious rumors were circulated, implicating the karsewaks in their own murder. The most pervasive: that apparently somebody had refused to pay Rs 2 for tea at the railway station. And so the local vendors, who belonged to a peaceful community, had no option but to take 59 lives. Seems like an excruciating rate of interest, unless of course you believe that 59 Hindu lives are not even worth Rs 2.

The humiliation did not stop there. When Lalu Yadav became Railway Minister, he appointed a Commission that found the fire was an “accident.” If Lalu Yadav had become US Secretary of State, Osama bin Laden would have cleared his name as well in the matter of the 9/11 attacks.

In 2011, the Gujarat High Court convicted 31 people for the Godhra train carnage, but the lies have always stayed one step ahead of the truth. Despite the High Court conviction, Indian and foreign media routinely present the incident as if nobody knows who was behind it. It is good that Gujarat High Court commuted 11 of the death sentences from the Sessions court to life imprisonment. After all, 15000 “liberals” showed up to pay tribute in Mumbai when Yakub Memon was executed. If the Godhra convicts has to be executed, who knows how many “liberals” would have poured into the streets…

Kalyan Singh’s resignation

There is one thing we know about politicians. They love power. When they have power, they stick to it no matter what.

Imagine what it takes to surrender your full majority government in India’s most populous state, only a year and half into your term. We have seen politicians fall over themselves to become Chief Minister, even if for six months.

But on Dec 6, 1992, Kalyan Singh resigned as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. There was pressure on him to do a Mulayam: to open fire on karsewaks. He refused. He chose to give up his chair instead.

The ecosystem never forgave him for that. In this chilling video, you can see the stone cold face of the NDTV interviewer as he demands why Kalyan Singh let crores of people be divided just to save a few lives. Just a few lives. I would like to ask the NDTV interviewer how much is the worth of one Hindu life.

For what it’s worth, the Central government also dismissed the BJP state governments in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh as soon as Babri Masjid was demolished.

In India, both Hindu life and democracy can be cheap.

The establishment of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is a victory for the soul of India. It is not just a victory for our generation. It is also a tribute to generations past and a legacy we leave behind for the generations to come.

After digital billboards, Indian community take to the streets to celebrate Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan at Times Square in New York

0

August 5 in the year 2020 will go down in history as one of the most auspicious days for any Hindu. The laying of Ram Temple’s foundation stone or the Bhoomi Pujan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Ayodhya yesterday, marks the beginning of a new era for all the Ram Bhakts across the globe. Yesterday, Times Square in America was lit with a high-definition digital display of Lord Ram and proposed temple at Ayodhya. Now, the Indians based in the US have taken to the streets of Times Square to express their exuberance over this unforgettable day.

Social media is full of videos where members of the Indian community are seen gathered in large numbers at the iconic Times Square in New York, to celebrate the ‘Bhoomi pujan’ performed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. People adorning saffron scarfs and clothes are seen holding “Jai Shri Ram” posters and Bhagwa flags. They are seen dancing and singing to the tunes of the Dhol-Nagada. People who have collected in huge numbers are also heard chanting “Jai Jai Ram slogans”.

The Indians in the US, who have all come together to share their exhilaration with each other at this felicitous moment, are also heard chanting slogans calling for recovering Hindu sites at Kashi and Mathura. “Kashi Mathura baki hai” slogans echoed at the Times Square in New York as Indians took to the street to celebrate the Bhoomi Pujan of the proposed Ram Mandir construction site in Ayodhya.

After Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir, the Indian community in the US are hoping that the disputed Kashi Vishwanath and Mathura Hindu shrines are also liberated.

Demand for reclamation of Kashi Vishwanath and Mathura Temples

It is pertinent to note here, that Varanasi’s Gyanvapi mosque shares a boundary wall with the Kashi Vishwanath temple. During its centuries-old history, the Kashi Vishwanath temple has been demolished and rebuilt several times. In 1669, Mughal emperor Aurangzeb built the Gyanvapi mosque on the temple site.

The mosque still retains walls from the old temple, as the mosque was built on the partially demolished Vishwanath temple. Later, the temple was built next to the mosque. Kashi Vishwanath Mandir has been demanding the removal of the Gyanvapi Masjid from the site and possession of the entire land.

Similarly, Mathura’s Shahi Idgah mosque stands next to the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple, considered the birthplace of Krishna. The temple was destroyed in 1670 by Aurangzeb and the Shahi Idgah mosque was built on the plinth of the temple. Similar to the Kashi, a temple was built next to the mosque later, but Hindu devotees demand that the original location for the temple must be returned.

Digital billboard featuring Lord Ram and Ram Mandir comes up at Times Square in New York

Yesterday, imagery depicting the upcoming Mandir were displayed at Times Square in New York, USA. Video posted on social media showed a large curved digital billboard with the images of Lord Ram and the Ram Mandir on it, located at the iconic Times Square. The Indian tricolor was also be seen in the billboard.

Hindus in the USA had rented several billboards in the area to display text and images related to the Ram Mandir on the historic occasion.

Maulana from All India Imam Association threatens that ‘believers of justice’ will demolish Ram Mandir and rebuild disputed structure

0

In a shocking threat, Maulana Sajid Rashidi – the President of All India Imam Association has threatened that in the future, the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya will be demolished and another disputed structure will be build.

According to the reports, a day after Prime Minister Modi performed the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, the Islamic cleric Maulana Sajid Rashidi has now warned Hindus of demolishing the Ram Mandir and reconstructing a disputed structure at the same spot.

The controversial Islamic cleric also went on to claim that Prime Minister Modi has ‘violated the constitution’ by visiting Ayodhya temple event. He went on to claim that the land in which the temple is being built belonged to the disputed structure, which according to him was demolished by forces similar to German dictator Adolf Hitler’s forces.

However, the Maulana did not clarify what kind of ‘constitution’ was followed when the original temple at the site was destroyed to erect a disputed structure. He also did not acknowledge the fact that he has used the word constitution and has also openly defied a Supreme Court verdict in the same statement.

Issuing a direct threat to Hindus of the country, Maulana Sajid Rashidi said that someday, people (Muslims) who believe in justice will replace the temple with a disputed structure.

“Islam says a mosque structure will always be a mosque. It can’t be broken to build something else. We believe it was, and always will be a mosque. Mosque wasn’t built after demolishing temple but now maybe temple will be demolished to build a mosque,” said Sajid Rashidi.

AIPMLB issues a similar menacing threat

On Tuesday, the eve of the Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan event, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) had issued a threat against the construction of Ram Mandir by asserting to undo the alleged ‘injustice’ that was meted out to them by the country’s judiciary in the Ram Mandir case.

The controversial Islamic body also said that the demolished disputed structure will remain a mosque for them till eternity.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, the controversial Islamic body not only issued menacing threat over the construction of the temple but hinted at converting back the temple into a disputed structure in the future. Comparing the demolished structure to Turkey’s newly converted Mosque ‘Hagia Sophia’, the Muslim Personal Board said, “Babri Masjid was and will always be a Masjid”.

The AIMPLB further said that the Supreme Court has given its verdict but has embarrassed justice. The AIMPLB called Ram Mandir movement as one based on oppression, coercion, intimidation, embezzlement, usurpation and calumny. It added that the movement was purely political and had nothing to do with religion and religious teachings.

Islamists suffer a meltdown over Bhoomi Pujan ceremony

Not just AIMPLB, but also several Islamists on Wednesday suffered a huge meltdown on social media platforms and continued to spew venom against the Hindus on an auspicious day.

The Islamists not only rejected the idea of constructing a Ram Mandir at the historic site but also discredited the Supreme Court judgement on the Ram Janmabhoomi case to claim that site at which Ram Mandir is being built will always be a disputed structure they called masjid to them, ignoring the reality that they failed to prove it at the court.

In rejecting the Hindu’s claim to the site, the Islamists only assert the Islamist ideology of demolishing religious sites of other faiths and establishing an Islamist regime, where no other faith has any place. However, most Islamists never say it publicly. They share their bigotry under the garb of democratic rights and freedom of expression that is granted to them only in non-Islamic nations.
